> Frosty the Snowpony > by Sonic Gamer > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Ch. 1 Happy Birthday > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twas the afternoon of Hearthswarming Eve, everypony was doing last minute shopping, ponies were supporting the Salvation Army, and the foals were playing in the snow, even the Cutie Mark Crusaders. “Oh boy, I’m so excited for tonight!” Apple Bloom said excitedly. “I’m even gonna leave cookies and milk for Santa Hooves!” “I already gotten the perfect gift for Rarity!” Sweetie Belle said. “Well, I can’t wait to have the Hearthswarming feast with Rainbow Dash and the others!” said Scootaloo. “Oh yeah, we’re gonna have fun tonight!” claimed Apple Bloom. “Hey girls, how about we build a snowpony?” Sweetie Belle suggested. “Sounds fun.” Scootaloo said. “I’d love to!” Apple Bloom said. So, they all pitched together to make the perfect snowpony. An hour later, they finished. “He looks perfect! What should we name him?” “What about Scout?” Scootaloo suggested. “You got that name from Team Fortress 2, didn’t you?” “Maybe.” “How about Apple Snow?” “Ew, no way!” “What about Oatmeal?” Sweetie Belle suggested. “Oatmeal?” Apple Bloom and Scootaloo replied. Apple Bloom started thinking, and came up with the perfect name. “How about… Frosty?” Apple Bloom suggested. Sweetie Belle gasped. “That’s perfect!” she said. “Agreed!” Scootaloo said. “Frosty the Snowpony!” Meanwhile, a unicorn mare named Trixie was performing her magic show. “Happy Hearthswarming, everypony!” she said. “Gaze in awe as I amaze you with my magic!” “She said that last time.” a mare from the audience said. “Quiet! This time will be different! Now watch as I put these three eggs into my hat, and when I say the magic word, they will not fall out!” She put the eggs in her hat, used a spell to make them teleport somewhere else, but it failed, and they teleported over her head, and they fell on her. “Are you kidding me?!” The audience laughed at her as she walked back stage. After she placed her hat on a table, her rabbit, Hocus Pocus, came out of it. “What are you looking at, Hocus?” Hocus tapped his foot. “Keep giving me that attitude, and it’s no carrots for you tonight!” Hocus crossed his arms. “Y’know, I’m always having bad performances. Maybe I should retire from being a magician.” The wind then blew off her hat away. “Hey, get back here!” Trixie ran after her hat. “Y’know, I can’t help but notice that Frosty is missing something.” Apple Bloom implied. “I agree.” Scootaloo said. “But what?” Trixie’s hat then landed behind Sweetie Belle. She noticed it, and said, “I know what he’s missing! A hat!” “Yes, that’s it!” Trixie then showed up. “There it is.” she said. “Hi Trixie, can we borrow your hat for our snowpony?” Apple Bloom asked. Right when Trixie was about to answer, she thought about it, especially after her last performance. “Y’know what? Just keep it.” she said. “I’m through with being magician anyway.” “Cool, thanks!” Apple Bloom then put the hat on Frosty’s head. And then, something strange happened. A magical aura surrounded the snowpony, he then began to look more hyper realistic. “Happy Birthday!” Frosty said. The others were surprised. “OMC!” Sweetie Belle said. “He came to life!” “Wow, that hat must’ve been magical!” Apple Bloom said. “Indeed!” said Scootaloo. There must have been some magic in that magician’s hat they found, and when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around. Trixie’s jaw dropped. “Are you seeing this, Hocus?” she said. “My hat just brought their snowpony to life! Perhaps I was about to retire too soon.” She then used her magic to take back her hat, and Frosty went back to his normal self. “Hey, you said we can keep that!” Apple Bloom said. “Well, I changed my mind.” “Oh please, you’re only taking it back because it brought our snowpony to life!” Scootaloo claimed. “What are you talking about? I didn’t see that thing come to life.” “Lyer!” Sweetie Belle shouted. “Oh, who cares? Happy Hearthswarming!” Trixie then ran off with her hat. “Man, what a bitch.” Scootaloo said. “Scootaloo, you just said a swear word!” Sweetie Belle said. “Well it’s true.” As Trixie was heading back to downtown Ponyville, Hocus popped out of her hat, and ran off with it. Trixie didn’t notice though, she was just happy that her hat was magical this whole time. When will she notice? We’ll find out eventually. > Ch. 2 Let's Have Some Fun > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hocus Pocus went back to the CMC’s location with Trixie’s hat. Hocus was getting their attention. “Hey, it’s Trixie’s rabbit!” Sweetie Belle said, “And he brought the hat back!” “Sweet!” Scootaloo replied, “Now let’s bring Frosty to life again!” Sweetie Belle used her magic to levitate the hat onto Frosty’s head, he then came to life again. “Happy Birthday!” Frosty shouted, “Finally, I can say, and do more!” “How do you feel Frosty?” Apple Bloom asked. “I feel great… uh, whoever you are?” “Oh, right. We didn’t introduce ourselves. I’m Apple Bloom, and those are my friends, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. And we’re… All three of them then spoke simultaneously. “...The Cutie Mark Crusaders!” “Nice to meet you girls. You wanna play?” “Sure!” Sweetie Belle said. They all played together in the snow. They did snowball fights, made snow forts, played hide-and-seek, and tag. After a while, Frosty started to acknowledge something. “Uh oh!” he said. “What’s wrong, Frosty?” Apple Bloom asked. “Is it me, or is it getting slightly warmer?” “It can’t be that much,” Scootaloo claimed, “it’s the middle of winter!” “You’re right, but I might not be around forever when the weather gets warmer. When it gets too hot, I’ll melt.” “That’s right,” Sweetie Belle said, “What are we gonna do?” “I know!” Apple Bloom implied. “We should bring him to a place where it never stops snowing!” “That’s a great idea!” Scootaloo replied. “But where?” “The North Pole!” Sweetie Belle suggested. “Perfect!” Apple Bloom replied. “But where are we gonna get the money?” “With this.” Sweetie Belle took out a credit card. “Is that a credit card?” Scootaloo asked. “Yep, Rarity told me to only use it for emergencies. This is definitely an emergency!” “Alright!” Apple Bloom said, “Let’s get going!” “It’s very kind of you girls to keep me from melting.” Frosty said. “Let’s have some fun on the way there before I melt away!” So, they headed their way to the Ponyville Train Station. Down through the village, with a broomstick in his hoof, he went through here to there, all around the square, saying ‘Catch me if you can!’ They had some fun until they ran into the traffic cop, and they only paused for a moment when they head him holler, “STOP!” The traffic cop then let a couple go through. He then turned to Frosty, and said, “Don’t you know to stop when I blow my whistle?” “What’s a whistle?” Frosty asked. “Playing dumb with me, are you? Keep it up, and you’ll get a ticket.” “I’d love one, to the North Pole, please.” “Uh, what?” “You’re gonna have to excuse him, sir.” Apple Bloom said. “He just came to life, he doesn’t know a lot of things yet.” “Well, if he is just a snowpony. You may pass.” As they walked by him, the traffic cop started thinking about something. “Wait a minute, snowpony? Brought to life?!” He then accidently swallowed his whistle, and started choking on it, but he was able to save himself. At the train station, the CMC and Frosty waited in line. When they were next, Sweetie Belle talked to the employee. “We would like some tickets to the North Pole, please?” she said. “The North Pole, huh?” the employee replied. “That’s gonna be a very long trip. You might not make it back home on time for Hearth’s Warming.” “Don’t worry, Santa Hooves would bring us back.” “OK, whatever you say. How many do you want?” “Just two.” “But Sweetie Belle, there’s only four of us.” Apple Bloom implied. “You and Frosty are gonna have to go without me and Scootaloo.” “Aw man!” Scootaloo complained. “Why?” Apple Bloom asked. “I can’t put too much money on the card.” Sweetie Belle answered. “Me and Rarity aren’t exactly rich.” “Well, it was nice knowing you girls.” said Frosty. “Be sure to email us sometime.” Scootaloo said. “Sure thing.” “OK, that would be 600 bits.” the employee said. Sweetie Belle then gave him the credit card, and he scanned it. He then gave two tickets. “There you go. Happy Hearth’s Warming!” As Apple Bloom and Frosty came a broad, Trixie was stow awaying, hanging from the bottom of one of the train cars. “I can’t believe that little rodent ran off with Trixie’s hat!” she said, “And to top it all off, it’s back on that snowpony’s head! I’ll get it back no matter what it takes!” > Ch. 3 Pursuit > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the train, Frosty stood at the rear of the train outside so he wouldn’t melt from the train’s central heating. Apple Bloom went to check on him. “Beautiful night, ain’t it?” she said. “Sure is,” Frosty replied, “even that grey ball in sky looks beautiful.” “That’s called the moon. Princess Luna rises it every night, and sets it every morning.” “Well, whoever this Luna girl is, she does a very good job.” “She sure does.” Underneath the the train cart, Trixie was eavesdropping. “Now’s my chance,” she whispered before teleporting behind Frosty and Apple Bloom. Frosty and Apple Bloom turned around for they have heard Trixie teleport. “Not you again!” Apple Bloom responded. “I have a bone to pick with you, Snowpony!” Trixie said to Frosty. “Give Trixie back her hat, or else!” “Or else what?” Frosty asked. “Oh never mind that! Just give Trixie back her hat!” Trixie tried to grab her hat, but Frosty moved away before she could. “There’s nowhere to run, if you go inside, you’ll just melt.” Then Apple Bloom grabbed Trixie’s tail with her mouth. “You leave him alone, you bully!” she muffled. “Let go of Trixie, you little brat!” Trixie then whipped Apple Bloom off her tail, but then she unintentionally threw her off the cart. “Sweet Celestia!” “Oh no!” Frosty then ran inside, and pulled the emergency brake. The train then came to an immediate stop. He then ran right out of the cart to save Apple Bloom. “I almost killed a foal,” Trixie said traumatized, “I almost killed a foal. Not only that, that snowpony ran off with my hat!” The train then started moving again. Trixie then teleported off the train in pursuit of her hat. “I’ll apologize to her later, first thing I have to do is get my hat back!” Meanwhile, Frosty was running after Apple Bloom. He then found her lying unconscious next to the train track. She was covered in scrapes and bruises. “Are you OK, Apple Bloom?” He asked in concern. Apple Bloom woke up. “Frosty,” she said, “I’ll be alright.” Something then came up in her head. “Oh no, the train! How are we gonna get you to the North Pole now?” “I’m more concerned about you. We need to get you to get you home.” “But what about you? You would only last until the end of winter if you stay here in Equestria.” “I care more about your safety than the North Pole. Besides, you when through all this trouble to help me, and I believe I must return the favor.” “You’re just like Rainbow Dash, you’re very loyal. But how are you gonna get me home? We’re like miles away from Ponyville.” “I don’t know, but I’ll come up with something.” That was when Hocus Pocus appeared. “Hey, it’s Trixie’s rabbit!” Apple Bloom said, “Where have you been?” Hocus started making jesters. “Wait, I think he’s trying to tell us something.” Frosty implied. “Do you know how to get Apple Bloom home?” Hocus nodded. He then played a little game of charades. “Oh, I like this game!” Apple Bloom said. Hocus pretended to laugh jollily. “Aren’t hyenas vicious predators?” Frosty asked. Hocus face palmed, and tried something else. He then put some snow on his face, and made it look like a bread. He then did the laugh again. “Oh, now I get it! Santa Hooves! He’ll take you home, Apple Bloom.” “Great idea!” Apple Bloom said. “Now let’s go look for him, and quick, Trixie might find us before we find Santa. Get on my back.” Apple Bloom hopped on Frosty’s back, and they ventured off. They eventually hit a blizzard, it had no effect on Frosty because he was made of snow. Apple Bloom on the other hoof; she started to sneeze. “Are you OK?” Frosty asked. “I think I might be getting a cold from this blizzard,” Apple Bloom answered as she sneezed again. Hocus was sneezing as well. “Oh dear, we need to get you to someplace warm, and fast.” They then found a greenhouse in the distance. “Look, a greenhouse!” Apple Bloom said. “Perfect!” Frosty responded. They then walked inside. “Wow, sure is warm in here, perfect temperature for all these plants.” Little did they know, Trixie was behind them. “This will be the perfect trap,” she whispered to herself. She then closed and locked the door behind them. “Oh no!” Apple Bloom shouted. She tried to open the door, but no dice. “It’s locked!” “”Oh no,” Frosty said, “I’m trapped! I-I don’t feel so good.” He then fell to the ground. Trixie watched through the window as she smiled at Frosty’s demise. “As soon as he’s completely melted, I’ll be able to take my hat back!” She said as she laughed maniacally. She then sneezed from being outside in the cold. “And probably stay inside until the blizzard stops.” She then heard some bells, and hid inside a bush. There was a sleigh being pulled by flying reindeer, and the one piloting the sleigh was jolly, large, and bearded alicorn stallion in a red winter suit. You guessed it, it was none other than Santa Hooves. “Land right here, fellas!” he said to his reindeer. They then landed where the greenhouse is. Trixie was shocked from what she saw. “Santa Hooves?” she whispered to herself, “He’s real?” Santa unlocked the door to the greenhouse, and went inside. But it was already too late. Frosty was completely melted, he was nothing but a puddle along with his windpipe, scarf, broomstick, coal eyes, and Trixie’s hat. Apple Bloom sat on the ground sobbing over the loss of her friend. Santa walked up to her, and said, “Are you OK?” Apple Bloom turned around, and saw Santa. “Santa?” she said. “The one and only. I see that Frosty has melted.” “He was my friend, and now he’s gone.” “Cheer up, Apple Bloom. You see, he was made out of Hearth’s Warming snow, which means he’ll be back again next year.” “You really mean it?” “I’m certain.” “But what about Trixie? She might not give the hat back to us.” “I see. Let me handle this.” Santa then used his magic bring what was left of Frosty outside, and restored him. “Happy Birthday!” Frosty shouted. “Frosty, you’re alive!” Apple Bloom said with rejoice. She then gave Frosty a hug. “As for you Trixie,” Santa said. “Oh dear,” Trixie replied. “I thought you changed.” “I did, I guess I let greed come to my head. When I found out that my hat really was magical, I wanted to get it back so I can use that magic to improve on my performances. I guess I went a little too far.” “Well, what you did put you on the naughty list,” Trixie sighed. “I understand.” “But, you did learn your lesson. Maybe I’ll give you a replacement hat for Hearth’s Warming this year, and it’ll be as magical as your old one.” “R-really?” Trixie got excited. “Oh, thank you, Santa! I’ll be better next year.” “Hope so. Now c’mon, let’s get all of you home.” They all got onto Sana’s sleigh, and flew off into the night. > Epilogue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Santa drops by Sweet Apple Acres to drop off Apple Bloom. “Well, here we are,” he said. “Thanks for the lift, Santa,” Apple Bloom said. “Not a problem, and don’t forget, I’ll be coming back while you’re sleeping.” “So Frosty, I guess this is goodbye.” Apple Bloom had a sad look on her face. Frosty the Snowpony waved goodbye, saying, “Don’t you cry, I’ll be back next year on Hearth’s Warming Day.” It was then when Santa flew through the night to do what he came to do. That is when Apple Bloom’s sister Applejack found her. “Apple Bloom!” she shouted. “Oh, hi Applejack,” Apple Bloom replied. “Where have you been? It’s almost time to have our Hearth’s Warming supper. Now come inside, all our friends and family already showed up.” Apple Bloom walked inside, and saw that the place was packed. She even saw Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. “Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo!” She ran up to them. “Apple Bloom, you’re back!” Sweetie Belle responded. “How was the trip?” Scootaloo asked. “It’s quite the story,” Apple Bloom answered. “Did you get Frosty to the North Pole?” “Sure did, and I had a little help.” Apple Bloom then noticed a colt with a propeller hat. “Is that Button Mash?” “Yep,” Sweetie Belle answered, “I brought him here as a guest.” She then walked up to Button, and said, “Hey Button, how are you enjoying the party?” “Of course I am, I love this holiday,” Button replied. Sweetie Belle looked up and said, “I think you’re about to enjoy it a bit more.” Button looked up seeing what she was talking about. He then saw something hanging above them. “I-is that…?” “Yep, a mistletoe. You know what happens under the mistletoe, don’t you?” Button blushed, and started to pucker up. Sweetie Belle was doing the same thing. But before their lips could make contact, Applejack was ringing a bell which interrupted them. “Time to chow down everypony!” She said. “Cock block,” Button muttered. Everypony then sat the table together, and joined in prayer before filling their plates.
