> Derpy and Me > by godzilla54 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well this sucks. But what else should I expect at this point. Lost. My job, again. I had always thought that I would do fine once I got out of college I might have a chance at a good life. I was wrong, even now I still always get the short end of the stick. I don't even know how I manage to pay rent and keep myself fed. But I don't intend to give up. I figure that eventually I'll catch a break, and something good will happen. I just need to hang on. I just wish I had a friend. I live alone, and I have no one in my life. My parents died about five years ago. The two friends I ever had moved away a long time ago, one to Toronto, the other to Hong Kong. I never had a girl friend, so I can't say anything about that. I can't afford a pet, with barely getting by and everything. I just wish I had one person in my life. But I doupt that will happen, because I keep losing jobs before I can actually get to know a person. Well I guess it's time to go to another job interview, maybe this one will actually have use for a guy with a degree in Ethics. Well, you never know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was walking home from the job interview. I didn't get it, as usual, but this was the first person to say it to my face and not just e-mail Or leave a voice-mail or something. I felt like crap. "We just aren't looking for a person like you at this time" He said. Bullshit! You just looked at my resume and saw how many jobs I got fired from. He didn't even bother to ask anything about me, or my skills, or anything. When I got home I sat down on the sofa I found at the dump, and had washed up. I turned on the T.V. that didn't even always get color. Well at least I had one, so there's one thing good in my life. So I began to watch My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. I had been recommended the show in my junior year of college. I was reluctant at first, but I gave it a try. I have been a brony ever since. I really liked the show now, because the happy tone of it contrasted with my life, and the world around me. I couldn't go to bed without hearing some gun shots, or something. That is an exaggeration, but not by much. Bottom line I live in a shit hole. So as I was watching, I heard a knocking at my door. My first thought was the land lord, so I just turned the T.V. off and pretended to not be home. I didn't have the rent, he was early. The knock came again. This was when I realized that it was coming from the fire escape. I had no idea why someone would come through the fire escape, so I took the chance and opened it. There I saw the most amazing thing I had ever seen in my life. It was a very small baby pony. It had a satchel hanging on it's back. I had never seen any thing so amazing. My mind felt like it was going to explode. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen, I didn't think it was real. But some how I did know. It began to spread a small pair of wings. I tried to look it in it's yellow eyes, but one of it's eyes was drifting towards the floor. Before I could even make out a word, it trotted in to my apartment. It tried to fly using it's wings, but quickly fell face first into the T.V. knocking it over. The T.V. falling caused the little thing to get startled. It quickly ran under the couch and hid. I walked over and looked under to see it, hiding with it's hooves covering it's face crying. "Umm, hi," I said, "What's your name?" I asked attempting to pet it. She quickly got scared and went even farther back under the couch. I kept holding my hand out, and slowly she took her hooves off her face, and put one on my hand. "So what's your name?" Her eyes went back to being crossed, and a smile spread across her face, and she came out from under the couch. She clibed up onto the couch and began to sleep. I looked into my hand and saw a letter. Please take good care of this Derpy. We know you will. I had no idea what to say. I was amazed. This was in fact a filly Derpy Hooves, from My little Pony Friendship Is Magic. I didn't know what to say. But then I looked at the young filly sitting on my couch, and I felt a small warm surge go through my body. Maybe this was my chance at having a good life. I put my hand on her back. Some how I knew this was meant to be. I laid down on the couch and started to fall asleep. But before I did, the little filly began to snuggle up next to me. And then I thought, Maybe this is what I was waiting for. A new chance at life. I hugged the young filly that was snuggling up to me. Now I sit here writing this journal about every thing that has happened so far, and every thing that will happen. I think that this is the only way I'll be able to stay sane. Even now I am not sure if this is real, but, I feel in my heart that it is. So I am going to write of my life from this point on with the little filly named Derpy, for however long she stays here. I know that this probably sounds crazy to anyone reading this, but believe me, I am here with a filly from a cartoon show. This is the life, of Derpy and me.
