> MLP Z: The perfect creation > by DryvernX > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > An upcoming threat > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Equestria's peace has returned since Twilight and her five friends, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy defeated the evil centaur Tirek. Even after Tirek has stolen all the magic in Equestria, the Mane 6 were still able to defeat him, thanks to the Tree Of Harmony. From the tree, they got a power just as powerful, or even more powerful than the Elements Of Harmony, which Is known as the Rainbow Power, a rainbow amplified form of extremely powerful magic. The Mane 6 were invincible to Tirek's might, they drained all his stolen magic from him, and placed him back to his prison cell in tartarus, then finally returned all the magic he stole from the ponies. Even through they're rainbow forms are currently lost since the fight, Twilight has gained her own castle from the 6 locked chest. While they have managed to stop Tirek, the Mane 6 have also stumbled on the evil unicorn named Starlight Glimmer, during their first friendship problem. Although they succeeded in pinning her down, Starlight still managed to teleport away to parts unknown. A week has past since the Incident, and Starlight Glimmer has still not been seen since then. But for now she was the least of their problems for the time being, as the ponies were busy with their usual lives. Meanwhile at Canterlot Castle, Princess Celestia the princess of Equestria was still asleep in her bedroom during the dark night. The princess of the sun however could barely sleep. Her head was filled with agony and fear, as her head shook fearfully, and multiple sweat dropped from her head. The solar princess was experiencing nightmares from her Inner thoughts. Inside her head, the princess stood at multiple rubbles and ruins, from none other than Canterlot Itself. The sky was completely dark. Flames were burning from the ruins of Canterlot. She couldn't see nothing more than already destroyed buildings falling apart, and injured ponies fleeing from what remained of their city. The princess couldn't shake off the fear she felt In her heart. "No! How could all this chaos and destruction happen?! Who would do such a terrible thing?" She muttered to herself with tears tearing down from her eyes. "Twilight. Luna. Twilight's friends. Spike... my son. Where are you?" "They've all perished my princess. Just like your rule In Equestria Is very soon." A voice that sounded elderly raspy and sinister, was heard behind the princess back. The princess was shocked at the voice, which she quickly recognized. She turned around, and saw a medium sized elderly pony unicorn with a long beard. He was completely covered by a shadow, as only his silhouette was visible to her. Despite that, she still recognized the mysterious pony. The solar princess was shocked at the sight of the mysterious pony. "Y... You?!" "Yes Princess. Along with our newest ally." He smiled wickedly toward her, as a silhouette of a mysterious creature appeared from behind his shadow. It stood as tall as her, had a humanoid appearance, and had two long broad wings on the back that pointed down the ground. "Who... who are you?" "Your perfect replacement Princess." The mysterious creature said, In a quite polite, yet at the same time sinister manner. The mysterious creature raised It's left hand, and formed an energy sphere from It's palm. "Time to say goodnight. Ex-princess." "NOOOOOOOO!!!" She exclaimed as the energy sphere was about to fully charge. But just before the blast could fire toward her, everyone started to vanish into thin air. The mysterious pony along with his mysterious ally disappeared, along with all the ponies who suffered the terror around. Princess Celestia then heard a voice she was very familiar with. "Sister! Don't be afraid!" Right beside the solar princess, the lunar princess, her sister Luna appeared. "Luna. Thank goodness you're here. I must be experiencing a really bad nightmare." "I couldn't let your nightmare suffer into you sister. I'm glad that you're alright." Luna said, as she comforted her. "Perhaps you should wake up, and drink a glass of warm milk." "That may be a wise idea Lulu." Celestia weakly smiled. "Now can you please wake me up?" "Of course." Luna nodded, as her eyes glowed white, and everything turned white for Celestia's eyes. Then a few seconds later, Celestia saw herself back in her bedroom. Celestia sighed in relief. "I'm glad that my sister helped me let go of that horrible nightmare." She started to rise, and leave from her bed, walking toward the living room of her castle. A few minutes later, she sat on the table, drinking a glass of warm milk, to calm her nerves. "That nightmare... was so awful. I hope it never comes to reality." Celestia muttered out of fear, as she took a drink from her warm milk. "And I certainly hope more... that I never have to meet him again." Next morning at Twilight's new castle. Twilight, her friends, and Spike were eating brunch together Inside, since Twilight invited them, so they can discuss their plans for today. Twilight and Rarity were discussing of their yesterday's events. Rarity who wore her usual outfit, a dark blue skirt with three diamonds, with a white short shirt, dark blue boots, and a diamond necklace around her neck, was drinking a cup of tea, as she talked with Twilight. "So Twilight, please tell me how you were doing on yesterday's events?" Twilight who wore her lavender skirt with a magic star on it, along with a purple shirt, and dark purple boots, was on the other hand drinking a cup of coffee, as she talked with her white unicorn friend. "Oh, i'm still trying to find out where Starlight Glimmer could be hiding here in Equestria. She's quite the chameleon around here." "I understand dear. She's been quite a thorn since our first meeting with her." Rarity said, as she felt the cold shoulder of remembering their first encounter with Starlight Glimmer, after learning her true colors. Then Spike arrived to their brunch. Spike wore a green shirt, and a pair of purple shorts. His current age is currently about 12, despite having barely aged since arriving to Ponyvile the first time. He was also quite small, being around half the height of Twilight and her friends, which is also the exact same height he had since his first arrival, and had retained it for a long time. "Hi girls. How's your breakfast?" "We're doing fine. Good morning Spiky Wikey." Rarity greeted to him, while mentioning Spike's usual nickname. Spike blushed in respond. "Morning to you too Rarity. Glad that you could visit us." "I always love to Spiky Wikey." Rarity replied, making Spike blush a little more. Twilight chuckled in respond, who obviously knew of his crush for Rarity. Applejack who wore her western blue skirt, and a yellow shirt, along with her western boots, was conversing with Fluttershy, who wore her green skirt with pink butterflies, white shirt, and green boots. "How were ya doing with the animals yesterday Shy? They weren't too much of a bother, were they?" "Oh no. They're all doing fine as always." Fluttershy smiled, which ended with her next sentence. "But Angel on the other hand can still be stubborn with his carrots." "That bunny's sure's more stubborn than Granny Smith were yesterday." Applejack said. "Ya see, yesterday she refused to leave her precious armchair, without the walker beside her. Which broke a few days ago." "Then how can she come to the table, and eat along with her family?" "She didn't. Apple Bloom had to serve it to her personally." "Oh. Did you manage fix her walker yesterday?" "No not yet. Big Mac's still working on that wretched walker." Applejack minor cursed. "Oh... okay. Hope Apple Bloom doesn't have to do that forever." Fluttershy muttered. Lastly, Pinkie Pie was too busy eating most of the breakfast on the table to talk. She's particularly after the waffles and pancakes. "Pinkie! Stop eat everything on the table! Save some of the pancakes and waffles for me!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed to her pink friend, who has just stuffed her entire mouth with pancakes and waffles. Pinkie stopped filling her mouth with breakfast food, and leaned towards Rainbow. "Srorry Brainbow Drash, Iarm really hrungry "Pinkie Pie replied with a weird tone, since her mouth were really filled with pancakes and waffles. She and Rainbow Dash wrestled with each other over the brunch food, with Pinkie Pie winning most of the wrestle match. "Pinkie, I told you once and I will tell you twice... Give me some pancakes already!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, while continuing her fight, over the breakfast against Pinkie Pie. She flew up at the table, and began their tug of war. The others on the table rolled their eyes at them. Applejack sighed at her two friends childishness. "Seriously, ya two need ta learn ya'r table manners at Twilight's castle." "Sorry Applejack, we would probably have remembered them if Pinkie didn't hog the best part of the breakfast." Rainbow Dash protested, while glaring at Pinkie Pie. "Hey! It's not me who walks on the table right now." Pinkie Pie protested in respond, while gulping down the food in her mouth. Twilight had enough of the fighting, and started to ignite her horn. "ENOUGH!" She yelled, while using her magic to surround Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie with a purple aura, paralyzing them immediately, but more importantly, stopping their little immature wrestle. "We can just make more pancakes you two! So stop your fighting, and keep It down!" Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie gave each other a gaze, and looked apologetically toward each other. "Sorry Twilight." They both apologized. "Now can you set us down?" "Right. Sorry if I overdid my outburst." Twilight said, as she calmed down and accepted their apology. She slowly let both of them down to their sitting spots, before turning off her horn. "I didn't overdo it? Did I?" Both Rainbow and Pinkie Pie fake smiled, while scratching the back of their heads a bit. "No no. We shouldn't've made that argument from the start." "Well that's a relief." Rarity sighed in relief. Twilight's face then turned serious. "But anyway, I wanted to tell you all something that really concerns me, since our encounter with Starlight Glimmer. She's no doubt a very talented and powerful unicorn. Probably close to even mine. We should be careful if she, or any other evil is trying to get the better of us." Most of her friends nodded in agreement. Rarity responded with flipping her hair. Applejack with a serious nod. Fluttershy slightly whimpered at the mention of the name 'Starlight'. And Pinkie Pie took some random and silly martial art fighting stances, as if she was ready to face her. Spike who was not incredibly sure, just scratched the back of his head, although still a bit afraid of her, since Twilight and her friends told him about her. Rainbow however had no sign of worry in her thoughts, as she merely flew beside Twilight, and laid her arm around her shoulder. "Oh chill out Twilight. We beat Starlight once, and we can do it again. "Don't underestimate her Rainbow Dash. We both clearly know, that she'll return someday. And we must remember to keep our guard up, if something, or someone else is trying to do something bad here in Equestria." Twilight said, with seriousness in her voice. "Oh come on Twilight. What's the worst that can happen?" Rainbow said, clearly dismissing Twilight's worry for future threats. Twilight in respond rolled her eyes. "Hopefully, we won't find out, what other threat we'll face beside Starlight." Twilight sighed, as she and her friends soon started to return to eating their brunch. "So anyway, do you have some gems for me Rarity?" Spike started to ask Rarity while sitting on his chair. Further away from both Ponyvile and Canterlot, there was a cave underneath a large mountain. That cave was a place mostly nopony would dare trespass, as most ponies knew that most caves could be inhabited by large greedy dragons, and didn't want to take such a dangerous risk. But deep inside the chambers of the cave, there was a secret lab, filled with science projects, machinery, and filled with glass tanks everywhere. Inside every tank, there was something organic and slimy, trying to form something every second. Deeper inside the laboratory, was an elderly turquoise unicorn pony, has a white mane, who wore grey lab coat, a pair of black pants, and had a very long brown beard, that almost reached down to his knees, and appeared to be around the 80's. He was sitting on an armchair, while the two other workers were busy working on their machinery and technology. They started taking out some small lab tubes. "Is our first prototype creation soon ready Doctor Symbiosis?" The eldery unicorn scientist asked his two comrade science partners, who were also eldery, around the same age as their boss. The scientist to his left was an eldery brown unicorn mare, sporting a dark green mane, wears a white lab coat, and a long purple dress underneath. The other scientist to his right, was another eldery unicorn stallion, who sports a black mane, has a yellow fur coat, wore a black lab coat, and also wears a pair of blue shorts. "Soon Doctor Organic. We just need to complete our final adjustments." The old mare named Doctor Symbiosis replied, as she placed a pair of small tubes, into a small hole. The first one contained some sort of pink liquid inside, and the other had a blue color instead. The pink and blue liquids soon flooded inside a tank in front of them. The two slimy liquids inside soon started to slowly move closer to each other, and started melding together. The merged liquid slime soon turned into a very dark grey color. "It is done Doctor Organic. Our first prototype will soon be finished." "Perfect. How long will it take Doctor Synthetic?" Doctor Organic asked the eldery yellow unicorn named Doctor Synthetic. "According to the computer... about an hour." Doctor Synthetic replied, as he pushed a button on the control module in front of him, making a plasma screen appear in front of them. It started to turn on, as it showed their creation's status. Accessing... Completion of prototype... about one hour from now on... Hopefully. "Excellent. In just a few minutes, our prototype creation is very nearly complete. Organic wickedly smiled. "Finally, after so many years of work, our project will finally come true, before our very eyes." Synthetic started to give an uneasy expression, over some of his own thoughts. "But i've been thinking of something. What if someone finds out about our secret lair and project? Won't the royal guards hunt us down?" Symbiosis however grinned to Synthetic. "They can't Synthetic. We've stayed hidden here for a long long time. The probability that they'll find our hideout is less than 4.9 percent." "Exactly Doctor Symbiosis. We have all the time and privacy we'll need." Doctor Organic weakly slapped Syntetic's shoulder, due to his lack of strength and old age. "And once we've created enough of our creations. We'll make sure..." he turned to an old, dusty, and slightly torn picture of Princess Celestia. "... that she will suffer by our creations hands." "Agreed. She'll soon regret for seeing our work the wrong way." Doctor Symbiosis nodded, as she too gave an evil grin, along with her comrade Doctor Synthetic. "And she'll soon know what our many years of work will affect Equestria. Our project known as: Project D.N.A.C.E.L." Doctor Synthetic laughed, as he also coughed in the process due to his old age. Organic and Symbiosis laughed along with him. After a few minutes of waiting, the dark grey liquid slime soon took a more humanoid appearance, as it grew blue wings on it's back, had pink bear like feet, and it's head shaped like a pony, except without a snout pointing out. The computer started writing a message for them. Creation complete. Creation complete. Please take your creation out. "It's completed. Let it out." Organic ordered. Symbiosis pushed a switch on the control module. The tank started to release some smoke around it, and slowly drained all the liquid inside. The dark grey humanoid slowly opened it's eyes, as it started to noticed the three scientists. The creature slowly stood up on it's feet, and spreading it's wings out. It's height was a bit taller than the 3 scientists, standing close to 6 foot. The creature slowly walked toward them, and quickly bowed before it's creators. "My creators. What's your command?" "Amazing. Our program to make it loyal to us is a success." Symbiosis said, as she was stunned in amazement. "Then that means there will be no problems with controlling our prototype." Doctor Organic grinned, as he moved away from his armchair, and slowly walked toward his creation, until he stood in front of it. "Listen. Can you hear us?" Their creation nodded. "Yes master. What is your order?" "We will get to that. Your name will be Prototype 0.1." "Yes master. I Prototype 0.1 will follow anything you order me to." Prototype 0.1 nodded, as he started bowing before his creators. Doctor Organic smiled, watching his obedient creation. "Excellent. We need to test your powers. Your after all our first creation." "And how shall my power be tested?" Prototype 0.1 asked. "We've created you to destroy. And we want you to destroy something from the outer world." Organic explained to their prototype creation. Synthetic pushed a button on the control module, and made the screen flash out a small familiar town. "You see this town?" Prototype 0.1 nodded. "Yes. It's the town known as Ponyvile. I also know where to find it as well." "Good. Go out there, stomp that small town to ashes. And exterminate anyone, who doesn't oppose your destruction" Symbiosis ordered, as she pointed to the screen, showing the small town, which is none other than Ponyvile. "It shall be done, my masters. Those fools won't stand a chance." Prototype 0.1 boasted, as it walked to the lab exit nearby. Outside their cave, a rock nearby moved from the spot, where Prototype 0.1 walked out, and took for it's leave. It started flapping it's blue wings, and took flight. Once the 3 scientists were all alone, Doctor Synthetic glanced to Doctor Organic. "Doctor Organic, are you absolutely sure that Ponyvile's a good start? After all, the bearers of the Elements Of Harmony lives there." Synthetic asked his boss. "Of course not. Prototype 0.1 is just a prototype. Our first test subject." Organic replied. "But if he does fail his task, we'll just use this." Organic reached for his lab coat pocket, and took out something incredibly tiny and insectoid. It was akin to a mosquito in appearance, yet much more metallic and robotic. "Our Spysquito." "Great idea Organic. To use our little friend to spy on Prototype 0.1's progress. Just like we once did to our enemies long ago." Symbiosis complimented her boss. Organic took out a remote from his other pocket, and pushed it. The Spysquito's eyes started glowing red, and flew toward the same direction Prototype 0.1 left. It soon left the laboratory as well, flying out of the same secret exit, Prototype 0.1 went. "Now we'll see if Prototype 0.1's good enough against pony kind." Organic chuckled wickedly, which soon turned into a dark laughter. His comrades soon joined his laughter. > Prototype Attack > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in Ponyvile, the Mane 6's brunch has finished, and everypony had each went back to their respective daily schedule. Pinkie went back to Sugarcube Corner, to sell some cupcakes(don't worry, not the cupcakes you think she's baking). Rarity needed to continue working on some dresses, several other mares requested her to work on. Applejack went back to her farm, as her family needed some help with bucking the trees as usual. Fluttershy was currently checking on her animals back on her cottage, along with her usual stubborn pet bunny Angel. Rainbow Dash was out doing her exercising for the Wonderbolts as usual. And lastly, Twilight was at the train station with Spike, due to the latter has decided to take a visit to Canterlot, as Spike felt the need to visit his adopted mother, Princess Celestia. Twilight was following Spike to the train station. "Are you sure that you're alright in taking the train to Canterlot? I can just teleport us there." "I'm good Twilight. I don't want to waste your energy just because I wanted to go for a visit. Besides, i'll be fine." Spike replied, politely refusing Twilight's help. "Fair enough. My flight will just make you sky sick." Twilight chuckled, remembering her first flight with Spike. Twilight and Spike has just reached to the train station, and the two were soon going to part. Twilight hugged her assistant. "Enjoy your trip to Canterlot, and your visit to Princess Celestia, my teacher your adopted mother." "I will Twilight. I'll remember to tell her, you said hi." Spike replied, as he hugged her back. "Too bad that the others couldn't be here to say bye." Twilight let go of the hug, and placed her hand on his left shoulder. "It's okay. Our friends are currently busy right now. And Rarity did also give you a little bye bye kiss back in our friendship castle before she left." Twilight gave a friendly grin from her last sentence, as Spike blushed in slight embarrassment. He clearly remembered the kiss, Rarity gave him on his right cheek after telling them his plans to visit his adopted parent. "Oh yeah. That felt good." Spike muttered, while doing his usual daydreaming with him and Rarity together. Those two hopefully one day, kissing each other on their lips, and feeling the enjoyment of being together for the rest of their... "Spike. Are you there? I think your train's arriving." Twilight suddenly said, which made Spike snap out of his daydreams. And true to Twilight's words, the train which is the Friendship Express has indeed arrived, and stood parked right behind Spike's back. The stallion train conductor for the Friendship Express, then let his head out from the train behind Spike. "All aboard!" "That's my cue. Bye bye Twilight. I'll be back in your castle in a few days." Spike said, as he quickly jumped into the train door, and right into the cabin. He made it at just the right moment the doors were closing. The train wheels soon started to run on it's tracks once more, as the head train released smoke from it's train's pipe. As the train started to drive off, Spike opened a window from the cabin room, and waved his arm out for Twilight. Twilight returned the wave, by doing the same. "Bye bye Spike!" After a few moments of waving goodbye, the train Spike left off with was out of sight. Twilight stopped waving, and soon went to leave the train station. She needed to return to her Friendship Castle, "Well, since Spike's off for a bit. I guess I can go back to work on my castle." Twilight said, as she went off, back to her castle. "And maybe Rainbow was right. Starlight's currently out of trouble. Maybe I could use some relaxation. Besides, what's the worst that could happen?" Meanwhile a bit away from Ponyvile, the newest creation in Equestria, known as Prototype 0.1 was flying above the skies in Equestria. He had been flying toward his destination for quite some time. Which was about 20 minutes ago, or more. "I am getting closer to my destination and mission. To find and destroy the town Ponyvile." Prototype 0.1 said, as he held a close eye on what's underneath him while flying around. "According to my calculations, there is about two more miles distance to Ponyvile. My creators will accept no failures. So I better impress them with the incredibly amazing powers they created me with. I better save my strength and speed for my mission." As Prototype 0.1 continued flying, he suddenly witnessed a rainbow streaming around the clouds. He immediately stopped his flight during midair at witnessing the lightning fast rainbow that suddenly appeared. Prototype 0.1 watched closely to the flying rainbow, and started to wickedly grin toward it. "Well, guess I just found my first victim of my significant power. And who better than the fast boaster Rainbow Dash. A little test run with my powers wouldn't hurt." While Prototype 0.1 was planning his move behind some clouds, Rainbow Dash on the other hand was still flying in midair, without having noticed him around. She was still training to maintain her incredible speed and stamina. And flying through the air as fast as she could, and as long as possible was a perfect method of training her wing muscles. "Aw yeah! I'm as fast and cool like I always am!" She boasted while flying at her top speed. The more, and faster she flew around, the more sweats she'll drop later. Which is exactly what Rainbow wants during her usual speed training. "And that's cuz the coolest pegasus around, is a member of the Wonderbolts!" She's been in the Wonderbolts team for quite a bit. It's been almost a few months since she was officially enrolled to the team permanently. Rainbow hasn't felt happier, beside than hanging out with her best friends, since that day she was in her dream team. She soon stopped in midair, due to sweating so much all over her head. She sweated so much, that it ran down her clothes. Good thing she took her water bottle with her. She took a fair amount of swigs from it, and finished it off with a slow gasp. "Phew. Well that's my training for today. Guess it's about time to go home and take a shower." She then started to flap her wings once more, and leave her current location. But suddenly, she heard something fast approaching her. "Huh? What's that noise?" She asked confused, while listening further to the weird sound she's hearing. She did however recognize such a noise before. It sounded like a speed barrier was starting to break very soon, just like she usually does when going fast. She heard the noise coming closer, and closer, and closer. And then at the last second, as quickly as possible, she used her wings to jump up in the air, and dodged a grey lightning streak, who was obviously planning to charge toward her. The quick lightning streak stopped, as Rainbow had an angry expression to the stranger trying to attack her. "Alright buster. What's the big idea in attacking Rainbow..." She said, before taking a full glimpse of the appearance of her attacking stalker, and stopped her speech. She noticed the grey coat of the flying creature, along with his muscular appearance. He sports some blue wings slightly akin to her own much to her surprise, except bulkier and slightly larger. His head was akin to a usual pony, except without the snout. The creature was something Rainbow has never seen in her life. "What... what are you?" Rainbow asked, as she tried to hold back any fear she felt toward the mysterious creature. The creature was none other than Prototype 0.1, and he gave a sinister grin to Rainbow. "I am Prototype 0.1. Your upcoming doom and destruction." Prototype 0.1 introduced, as he boasted about Rainbow's upcoming doom. Rainbow grinned back, as she took a fighting stance. "You obviously don't know who I am. My name is..." "Rainbow Dash. Element Of Loyalty. Fastest flier in Equestria. And among one of Pinkie Pie's friends." To Rainbow Dash's shock, Prototype 0.1 completely finished her own speech, before she could even fully introduce herself. "How do you know my name? How do you know Pinkie Pie?" "I'm afraid that's none of your business. Beside your own death. Now, prepare for your execution!" Prototype 0.1 grinned, as he charged toward Rainbow Dash at high speed, which even took Rainbow by surprise. "Wow, he's fast. No doubt he even took me by surprise." Rainbow Dash thought, as she did her best to block Prototype's powerful charge. She slowly struggled to push him back. Then before she could react, Prototype quickly raised his left leg, and at incredible speed, dealt numerous blows to Rainbow's gut. Rainbow felt numerous small painful blows hitting her stomach. "Ouch. He's also pretty strong too. Possibly an equal to Big Mac in strength." Right before Prototype could deal another blow to Rainbow's stomach, she quickly sidestepped thanks to her wings, and charged out a kick towards him. "Take this you big jerk!" However as soon as the kick made contact with Prototype 0.1's body, something that made Rainbow's eyes wide in pure shock and horror. A part of his left lower rib fell off from his body, along with his left arm. "OMG! I hurt him really bad! Even if he attacked me, he didn't deserve so much pain." Rainbow Dash thought, as she watched in horror of the silent Prototype 0.1. But then to her surprise, instead of him screaming out in pain and horror, he merely started laughing at his torn off body parts. That made Rainbow freak out a bit. "Is that all you got? I must say that I actually hoped that attack would've heavily injured me. But it didn't. All you did was giving me a teeny tiny blow." Prototype laughed with sinisterness in his voice. Then to even more of Rainbow's shock, out of what used to be his arm, tentacles was released from his torn off parts. They quickly reformed into the shape of an arm. His left lower half did the same, as they too released thin tiny tentacles from his ribs. "What is he doing?" Rainbow Dash thought, as she was frozen in shock at Prototype 0.1's doing. She then witnessed the tentacles were done shaping into an arm, and his lower left rib. Then some flesh started to grow out from the tentacles, which started to shape into a new arm, that was completely identical to his former lost body parts. Once they were complete, he gave a smug grin toward her, as if he hasn't even been badly damaged at all. "What? Haven't heard about regeneration abilities?" Prototype 0.1 asked. "Well, knowing you alright, that's an obvious answer. You're too dumb to learn stuff, because learning's for eggheads." Rainbow's shock, turned to anger, at hearing his insult. "That's it! You're going down!" Rainbow Dash flew toward him with incredible speed. Prototype however raised his palm, and fired a small sphere of energy toward her. Rainbow's eyes widened, and quickly dodged from it. As the sphere continued, it immediately exploded. "You can do magic? How can you do magic?" "I was born with it. Which just shows my superiority toward you." He arrogantly said. "Magic or not. I'm still going to make you pay!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. She used her incredible speed to fly around him, which surrounds him within a tornado. "Your eyes fast enough to catch my speed?" While surrounded by Rainbow's own made tornado, she delivers many blows to his body, which Prototype tries to block with little effort. "Persistent isn't she?" Prototype thought. He then spread out his arms, and then starts spinning around at equal speed to Rainbow's. Soon, Rainbow Dash was hit by one of Prototype's spinning arms, and dropped back. Prototype stopped spinning around as well. "Hmph. If that's all you have to offer, then i'm really disappointed in you." Prototype said unimpressed with Rainbow's performance. "Drat. If I wasn't exhausted from my training, I could've beaten him in no time." Rainbow Dash thought, as she sweated more. "Once you're dead, i'll continue with Ponyvile. They may have some better opponents to offer." He said. Rainbow then widened her eyes in anger. Knowing she won't let a mysterious yet powerful stranger go and attack an innocent town. Especially not a town where the inhabitants is her friends. "We're not done yet! And you'll never hurt my friends, or the civilians in Ponyvile! Now take this!" Rainbow Dash charged at him with her fist, and prepared to punch him right in the face. Prototype 0.1 however wasn't worried, as he merely lifted his left arm, and bashed the quick Rainbow Dash away. The blue pegasus was send flying right down the ground. "And there she goes. Now I just need to find her again." Prototype 0.1 said, as he flew down from the skies, and toward the same direction he bashed Rainbow away. (Music stops) Below the skies, Applejack was kicking some apples on the apple trees near her farm. She's been working for hours, like she usually does at work. But today was a bit different, as she was going to do it on her own. Big Mac's currently busy helping Cheerilee, since the two of them have gotten rather close as the time went by. And Apple Bloom had to help fix Granny Smith's walker, as she still refused to leave her armchair. After both gathering and placing some more apples in the baskets around the trees, she took off her hat, and waved it toward her head. "Now that's a good job I've done for today. Just need to remember not to go too far like last time." Applejack said, recalling the last time she was bucking apples by herself. She needed her friends help in the end, as she obviously couldn't do it on her own. Fortunately she learned from that mistake, and refused to go too far like last time. "Now, what could wreck this wonderful routine?" Suddenly, a blue streak was crashing down toward her apple trees. Taking a couple of them down in the process. Applejack sighed, and shook her head. "I just had to ask, didn't I?" Applejack placed her hat back on her head, ran toward the broken apple trees. Once she reached the broken trees, she saw an injured Rainbow Dash on top of them. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Man, this guy can hit hard." "Rainbow Dash!" She heard Applejack's voice shout. She saw Applejack run toward her sitting spot. Once she was near her, she gave her a disapproving look. "What in tarnation just happened?!" "Well Applejack. You wouldn't believe what i've just been through." "Let me guess. Ya were out training your 'awesome' skills, and then picked a fight with a random stranger?" Applejack asked, as she continued her disapproving expression toward her. "Look, it was him who picked a fight with me. And he was gonna kill me!" Rainbow Dash explained, which changed Applejack's expression to both shocked and confused. "Say what?!" Before Rainbow could say more, another crash was heard during the farm. Applejack turned around, and saw Prototype 0.1 who just landed on the ground. Ah ah. We're not done with our fun, Rainbow Dash." Applejack was stunned at the creature's appearance. "Rainbow. What in tarnation is that thing?" "I don't know. He just attacked me out of nowhere." Rainbow replied, as she stepped away from the broken trees, and holding her slightly broken arm. "And want to know something even more weird? He knew my name." "What? Have ya even met this weird critter before?" "No I haven't. He even knows Pinkie Pie." "Say what? How does that fellar know so much about ya?" Applejack asked, as her confusion increased further. Before Rainbow could reply, Prototype 0.1's patients have just burned off, and starts shouting toward them. "Would you shut up already orange! I got a rainbow maned pegasus to destroy!" Prototype 0.1 shouted, as he walked toward the still injured Rainbow Dash. Applejack stepped in front of Rainbow, blocking Prototype's path. "Not a chance partner. She's hurt because of ya'r violent fighting. Ya won alright, so beat it." Prototype however had no plans of going anywhere. "No. I finish her, and kill her right here! Right now!" "If ya want to hurt her, ya'r gonna have ta'h go through me." Applejack threatened, as she raised her fists to the air. "And trust me. Ya won't like me when ya mess with my friends." Prototype gritted his teeth in anger. "Fine. I'll just destroy you then. And after I kill you the Rainbow Dash is next." Rainbow Dash managed to gather enough strength to stand on her feet. "Applejack be careful. He's quite strong." "I know Rainbow. He did knock you all the way down ta'h the ground earlier. But that ain't stopping me from protecting you." Rainbow Dash smiled at her friends selfless decision. Applejack was after all one of her best friends she knows. She used her wings to fly to the sidelines of the upcoming fight. "Enough of your chit chat! Time to kill!" Prototype exclaimed, as he ran toward Applejack, while preparing his fist toward her. "Bring it varmint!" Applejack replied. She quickly ducked from Prototype's fist, and rolled away on the ground in order to get some distance between them. Prototype hits an apple tree instead, which was torn in half on impact. "Ya'r gonna pay for a new tree there partner!" Applejack exclaimed, angered at one of her apple trees being destroyed. Despite having countless of other trees left, she still hated her trees getting destroyed. "Maybe I would've paid, if I actually cared." Prototype returned. He then jumped right toward Applejack, as she quickly jumped some feet back to dodge. Once Prototype landed, he saw another opportunity to strike, and delivered lightning fast punches toward Applejack. "That varmint sure is strong. Not to mention quite fast. Probably enough to give Rainbow a run for the money." Applejack thought, as she did her best to dodge his punches. She then punched Prototype in the face really hard, sending him back by a few feet. While immobilized at first, Prototype however gave a smug grin despite his mouth bleeding a bit. He used his hand to dry it off. "Impressive hit orange pony. But it'll take more than a little punch to bring me down." "I kinda saw that coming. But i'm not done yet." Applejack returned. She then took out her rope from her pocket. "YEEEHAAWW!" She exclaimed, as she swung her rope, and dropped it toward Prototype 0.1, who was actually taken by surprise. He was now tied to Applejack's lasso. "Now ya won't go anywhere." Prototype 0.1 struggled a little to get rid of the rope tied around him. "This rope must be pretty tough." "It is. It's the toughest rope around here in Equestria. Now answer me a few questions. How do ya know Rainbow Dash?" "None of your business cowgirl. My masters won't be happy to find out about telling secrets." Both Applejack and Rainbow were a bit confused. "Masters? Ya were ordered to attack us?" Prototype 0.1 realized what he just spilled, and gritted his teeth. "Guess I said a bit too much." "Well you better spill something more out! Now tell us more about your masters!" Rainbow Dash shouted from the sidelines. "Or else what? Make me stay tied up forever?" "That's the idea yeah. And ya ain't escaping so easily." Applejack said, as she kept the rope around him tight. Prototype however gave another smug grin. "You mean... like this?" Suddenly, he gathered a lot of strength, and started to spread his restrained arms out. After a little struggle, he completely tore Applejack's rope off, freeing him from it. Applejack's jaw dropped a bit, as she witnessed her rope torn off. "Now ya owe me a new rope!" "Then come here and make me apologize!" Prototype countered, as he raised his right palm, and fired a green energy blast toward Applejack. She was surprised, and quickly jumped out of the way at the right moment. "That varmint knows magic? Ya never said he could use magic Rainbow!" "And I didn't know either okay!" Rainbow replied. While Applejack was distracted, Prototype then suddenly stopped his punches, and quickly bend down to the ground, and deliver a low sweeping kick to Applejack's knee. "You let your guard down." Applejack felt lots of pain in her knee, and tried her best to still stand for as long as possible. She was then punched right in the guts, by Prototype's powerful fist. "Applejack!" Rainbow exclaimed, at the sight of the painful blow her friend just got. Applejack held her hands around her gut, and stumbled down the ground. Applejack did her best to raise her head up. But at the moment her head has moved around 90 degrees, she was kicked in the face by Prototype 0.1. "What do I do? I need to get our friends. But Applejack's life's in danger. She needs my aid!" Rainbow Dash thought, having a hard time, figuring out her decision. But then Rainbow noticed someone near some apple trees. A scared Winona hiding from the battle, sadly witnessing her owner getting beaten down. "Winona." Rainbow quickly whispered. The dog heard her voice, and noticed Rainbow Dash. She was about to bark, until Rainbow shushed her. "Winona. Go get my friends. I'll help Applejack." Winona was hesitant, but nodded eventually. She ran off from Sweet Apple Acres to get help. "Good dog." Rainbow Dash then turned to Prototype who was still pummeling Applejack. She had a hard time defending herself, due to still suffering injuries in both her knee and stomach. Prototype then sadistically lifted his left foot, preparing the finishing blow. "Time to go to the heavens. Permanently." Applejack closed her eyes, waiting for the finishing blow to hit. But then Rainbow's voice shouted out. "Leave her alone!" Prototype turned around, and witnessed Rainbow charging toward her, having recovered most of her strength from their previous battle. She tackled Prototype's back, sending him toward more trees, breaking them in respond. Rainbow then turned to the injured Applejack. "You alright?" "Of course I am. It'll take more than a little beatdown to bring me down like that." Applejack replied with a small smile. Rainbow let out her hand and helped Applejack up to her feet. "That varmint sure's tough. We could use some assistance from our friends." "No worries. I got Winona to get them." Rainbow Dash replied, while letting out her thump up to her. "Good. Winona's the smartest dog I know. I'm confident she can..." Before Applejack could finish, they heard something run toward them. They turned to their left, and witnessed Prototype 0.1 charging toward them at incredible speed. "So Rainbow Dash has joined? Then I can just crush both of you at once!" He shouted, as he continued charging toward them. "Here he comes. Lets give him a beatdown Applejack." "Works for me Rainbow." (Music stop). After saying goodbye to Spike before his visit to Canterlot, Twilight has decided to go back to her castle, and take a short day off. She has just arrived to her castle's gate. "Alright. Guess a few books will do, and i'll go see the others." Twilight said, as she reached the gate. Suddenly, she felt her right sock getting pulled away. Twilight stopped right on her tracks. "Huh?" She turned around, bend her head down and saw Winona pulling her sock. "Oh, hi Winona. Is there something wrong?" Winona replied with a nod. "There is? Did Applejack send you here to get something for her." Winona shook her head. "No? Is Applejack in need for a spell to make her trees grow?" Winona shook her head again, and started pulling harder on Twilight's sock. "Okay okay. I get that you need me to come with you. But there's no need to rush so qui..." Before she could finish, she suddenly heard some explosions from outside Ponyvile. "What was that?" As she heard more explosions, she turned to Winona, who looked at Twilight with a serious glare. "So that's why you went after me?" Winona nodded, as she continued pulling her. "I know. Applejack's in trouble. I'll get my friends." Twilight then flapped her wings, and started flying toward Sugarcube corner. Back in Sweet Apple Acres, many trees around has either been torn off, or just completely surrounded in fire. Prototype has stained many injuries from his battle against Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Speaking of them, they were equally as injured as him, with Rainbow having some bruises in her arms and legs. And Applejack had a few blood scars on her legs, along with a few bruises on her entire body. Prototype gasped for air, as he was starting to get exhausted. "You two are really starting to annoy me!" Applejack and Rainbow wasn't as exhausted, despite their injuries. "Well you're obviously no match for the two of us. So you can just give up." Prototype then stopped gasping for air, as he suddenly grinned toward them. "So you really think you can still defeat me? Pathetic." "What do ya mean by the word 'pathetic'?" "Because what you witnessed from me was about half my full power." He told them, shocking them a bit. "Half? That was only half?" Rainbow said, as her jaw started to drop. "Exactly. Now i'll power up to my full power!" He exclaimed, as he gathered energy around his body. Applejack and Rainbow could feel his power increase, and it was a bit higher than before. "Uh oh. This ain't good." Rainbow Dash said, as she tried to hide back her fear. "This whole time he was just toying with us like toys." Applejack said, while taking a few steps back. Prototype 0.1 was now fully powered up, and ready to beat up some more. "You ready to die worms?" "Never!" Rainbow harshly replied. "Very well. DIE!" He said, as he charged toward them. However just before he could make contact with them, he was struck from the side, by a purple magic beam. Prototype was sent crashing toward another tree, and was heavily injured. Applejack and Rainbow turned to the side, and saw, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Twilight who had smoke running from her horn like an engine, and Fluttershy who has just arrived for support. "Glad to see you guys came. And thanks for blasting this jerk Twilight." Rainbow Dash waved to them. Their 4 friends ran up to them, to check if they were alright. "Are you girls alright? You both seem quite injured from fighting him." Fluttershy asked, while checking on both Applejack's and Rainbow's bruises. "We'll be fine Fluttershy." Rainbow Dash replied, insuring that they're alright. "Well that's good. But what in Celestia's name was that thing you just fought?" Rarity asked, while pointing toward the heavily injured Prototype 0.1. "We don't know. He just attacked me out of nowhere." Rainbow Dash replied. Twilight turned to the injured Prototype 0.1. "Well i'm gonna ask this thing some questions of mine." "You didn't hurt him too much, did you?" Fluttershy asked, with slight concern despite the damage he had done. "Don't worry, I just used a weak paralyzing spell on him." "Well Twilight, he was kinda weird. He knew something that surprised both me and Applejack." Rainbow Dash said. "We'll get to that Rainbow. First I need some questions answered. The injured Prototype opened his eyes weakly. Before he could move his body any further, he was surrounded by a magical purple aura. He felt restrained and was lifted up in the air. Twilight glared at him with anger and confusion. "Alright buster, time for some answers from you. Who are you? What are you? And why did you attack my friends?" "As if i'll tell you anything Alicorn." Prototype weakly responded. "Look, we know you have a reason to attack our friends. So tell us why." "No! My orders must be followed." He said. Until he closed his mouth, realizing he let his mouth spill something out again. "Orders? You were ordered to attack us?" Twilight asked confused. Her face then turned serious, as she moved Prototype further to her eye level. "Who ordered you to attack us?" "I'll never tell you. And even if I did. You'll never stop them from..." He started muttering, until something happened to his body, that made the ponies watch in horror. His eye balls started to run down, as his body was melting like melted butter, as everything around him became disfigured. "He's... melting? Why is he melting?" Twilight asked in shock, as she witnessed Prototype's body melting and falling apart. Applejack and Rainbow Dash covered their eyes in shock. Rarity started to faint at the sight of the dismantled Prototype, only to be quickly grabbed by Applejack. Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy on the other hand tried to hold back their urge to vomit. "Shouldn't've eaten so many cupcakes earlier." Pinkie Pie said. Her head almost turned completely green of disgust. Soon, Prototype's body was nothing short than a mess of melted grey slime and goo. "Okay... that was... gross." Rainbow Dash said. "Gross? Disgusting's rather the right words." Twilight said. She cancelled off her magic aura, and let the remains of Prototype flow down the grounds of Sweet Apple Acres. "Well, now that he's gone. There's something more that I have to tell you back when I fought him." Rainbow Dash said. The others turned to her. "Go on." Was all Twilight replied with. "Just somewhere away from this guy's remains." Pinkie Pie said, feeling disgusted with being near Prototype's melted remains. While they were talking, something incredibly small and tiny was watching the entire fight. It had the appearance of a mosquito, yet more mechanical. It's eyes was filming like cameras of them. Meanwhile in the base, Doctor Organic, Synthetic, and Symbiosis has witnessed the fight during their plasma screen. Doctor Synthetic sighed at Prototype 0.1's failure and melted fate. "It seems that Prototype 0.1 is incredibly vulnerable to magic. Some prototype he turned out to be." Synthetic sighed in annoyance. "Well thanks to our Spysquito, we now know how powerful our first creation was." Symbiosis pointed out. Doctor Organic nodded. "Agreed Symbiosis. Now we know what flaws we need to fix for our next creation." Doctor Organic pushed a switch, and made a tiny bit of the floor split up. Out came some more small tubes, containing different liquids of each color. "And we got plenty of creations to create. Better get to work." Synthetic and Symbiosis nodded, as they started to work on their next step of their plan. > Spike's family reunion > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Friendship Express was still on it's way to Canterlot. And Spike was still sitting inside the train cabin, along with numerous other pony passengers. The young drake was quite excited(but not Pinkie Pie level excited) to get to Canterlot, and visit his adopted family. "It sure is be nice to pay a visit to mom today." Spike happily muttered, with a big dragon smile. The smile soon ended through, which was replaced with a big sigh. "I just hope Blueblood isn't there to ruin my day off." Like most ponies(mostly stallions or other males), they despised Blueblood and his attitude. Spike was no exception. He knew Blueblood since he was colt, while he on the other hand had just hatched from his egg, and they hated each other since the beginning, despite that it's mainly Blueblood who despised Spike, than Spike despised him. And he knew that any mare who was unlucky to fall in love with him, will soon regret it once meeting him in person. Spike remembered that Rarity used to be one of his love victims back then, and wished to marry him for a very long time. Fortunately, once she knew how Blueblood truly was on the inside, her crush and love for him became null and void. While Spike was satisfied that her love for Blueblood was erased, she was still oblivious about his love for her. Spike sighed. "While I do love Rarity. But does she even love me back?" Spike thought back about his past times with Rarity. Back when he first met her with Twilight on their first day in Ponyvile. It was love at first sight for him. There was also the time at his birthday, where he generously gave away his fire ruby for her. And later on, Spike turned into a giant dragon out of his own greed. Rarity however managed to turn him back by telling him about his own generous side. He never forgot that day, and he regretted letting his greed get into his head, and wouldn't make that mistake twice. But beside his Rarity thought, there's also been something else that's been bothering him. Something he's been thinking of, since he was born, something he haven't asked anypony before, and something nopony had actually answered him. Something that involved... "Arrival to Canterlot in a few moments!" The train speakers screeched out. Spike quitted his own thoughts once he heard the news, and started looking out of the window from his left side. He witnessed none other than the capital of Equestria. Canterlot, home to the rulers of Equestria, and his own adopted mother, Princess Celestia. "Well enough about those thoughts for now. Now I just want to take a break, and enjoy my family reunion today." Spike said, as he prepared himself to get off the train, once it reached the station. In a matter of minutes, the train reached one of it's destinations. The good old city Canterlot. The train conductor pulled his head out from the train, and starts screaming out to the passengers around. "Those who wants to go to Canterlot, please step out!" Spike jumped out from his seat, grabbed his suitcase, and started exiting the train cabin. "That's my cue." Soon, he had already stepped off from the train, and stood around the Canterlot train station. "Alright. Now I can move on to mom's castle." Spike said, and then he walked away from his current position. While Spike walked through Canterlot's streets, he noticed dozens, if not hundreds of the high class ponies walking around. Spike knew that most of them were either snobbish, selfish, or both at the same time. He knew it was usually best to ignore them, and move on. While the young drake continued his path, he watched many ponies from the higher class, harassing the hard working waiters and stewardesses in a cafeteria around. They appeared to be unsatisfied about either their coffee or tea, and were quite demanding, about getting a perfect cup for it. "Ouch, that's harsh. Good thing Rarity is nothing like Blueblood." Spike thought, while sweat dropping at the thought, of Rarity being a second Blueblood. That thought would haunt his mind for years, if his longtime crush was truly a snobbish, selfish, and tyrannical fashionista. But Spike knew Rarity was nothing like him, much to his relief. "Better get moving. Before they complain anything about me." Spike mumbled, and ran off from the small scene. After walking for quite a bit, he reached the Canterlot's castle, and home to his mother, Princess Celestia. "I hope mom's excited to see me." Spike said with a smile. He walked toward the front gate, which was guarded by two armored pegasus soldiers. Right before Spike could get close to the gate, the two guards opened their wings, blocking Spike's path. "Halt. State your business dragon." The left guard firmly ordered. "I'm just here for a visit. And besides, I didn't do anything. So if you would please let me go in..." Spike replied, before getting cut off by the guard to his right. "Dragons are vile greedy creatures. Now state your business here, or leave." Spike however gave a smirk to both of them. "Do you know, that I have a little business with a certain princess of the sun?" The left guard shook his head. "No. But what has that have to do with anything?" "Because I am Princess Celestia's adopted son." Spike informed, which made the two guards quite nervous, at his statement. "And i'm only here for a family reunion. So would you please let me go through, or should I tell her?" The two guards gave each other a nervous expression, as if they weren't sure if he was telling the truth or not. After thinking for a bit, both nodded to each, and once again gave the young drake a firm look. "Your statement is a bit valid. But what is your proof, that you're the son, of the princess who raises the sun?" The right guard asked. Before Spike could reply, a voice came from behind. "Stand your ground guards!" The voice exclaimed. The two guards looked back, and noticed Princess Luna behind them, giving them both a displeased look. "P... Princess Luna? We were just..." "Excuses, excuses. He's Celestia's son alright. Now let him go through." Princess Luna ordered, which made both the guards nod out of obedience. "Right. Apologies son of Celestia." The left guard nodded, as the two guards returned their wings to their former position. As Spike's path was clear, he walked past them, and turned over to Luna. "Hi aunt Luna. Thanks for backing me up there." Spike smiled to his adopted aunt. Luna smiled back to him. "You're welcome my nephew. Guards these days can be quite protective." "I know. How's it going with raising the moon?" "I'm doing great. But i've been doing other things, besides raising the moon." Princess Luna informed, while giving a little blush. "Really? What have you been doing lately?" Spike asked. "My second in command, he's quite a charmer." Luna answered. "We've been hanging out doing my free time." "So you're saying that you two've been having a... you know a special relationship?" Spike asked, which makes Luna blush deep red. "What? No no. That's not it. We're just friends. That's all." "Right..." Spike replied with a mischievous smile. "But anyway, where's mom? She would've mostly been the one who waited for me at the gate." "Celestia's been having a few nightmares lately. She's right now drinking a cup of coffee, to calm her nerves." Princess Luna informed her dragon nephew. Spike was both a bit stunned and confused of it. "Wow. That must've really hit her nerves a bit." Spike said. "Is she okay?" Luna nodded. "Of course. She just needs to calm down a bit." Spike sighed in relief. "Now that's a relief. Can I see her?" "Of course. Follow me." Princess Luna said, and walked further into the castle. Spike followed right behind her. Inside the castle kitchen, Princess Celestia was wearing her morning bathroom, her mane was a little worn off, while she was sipping with a cup of coffee. Celestia was still stunned from her nightmare she witnessed that night. She could barely sleep, or even get close to her bed, as she couldn't let the nightmare get out of her thoughts. "That nightmare. It was truly astonishing." The solar princess thought, while taking a sip of her warm cup of coffee. "I haven't been so astonished from such a nightmare before. Almost like it's gonna become a reality someday." As Princess Celestia drinked more of her coffee, a very special pony walked into the kitchen. Unfortunately through, it was a special pony Princess Celestia least wanted to check on her. And much to her dismay, it was her nephew Blueblood. "Why good morning auntie Celestia. I had such a wonderful sleep yesterday. Almost if I was a little colt again." Celestia sighed in annoyance, of her obnoxious nephew. "Well, good for you Blueblood. I had a really bad nightmare the last night." "Really? Did it involve me getting eaten by a huge gross monster?" Blueblood asked, while not exactly paying attention to her. "Thankfully not." Celestia muttered under her breath. She then noticed Blueblood glancing toward the kitchen staff. "You there. Fetch me my lunch." Blueblood ordered a stewardess, who was working on cleaning the royal tables. The stewardess sighed. "As you command Blueblood." She then went off, to get Blueblood's order. Blueblood blinked to his aunt. "Now isn't this relaxing your mind aunt? Your dear nephew soon going to eat beside you, just like a family." The princess sighed, and looked toward her nephew. "Actually Blueblood, what was going to help relax my nerves, was my adopted son paying me a visit today." Blueblood's jaw dropped automatically at her words. "You mean the gem eating slob who visits you frequently?" "That 'gem eating slob' is my son." "Yes, an adopted son. He's not related to any of us through blood. Why not your handsome nephew? Why do you like him better?" Blueblood asked. Since he first met Spike since childhood, he had always seen Spike as a brick wall, to his 'bright' future life. "Your obnoxious, spoiled, and uncontrollable selfish attitude is a good start why I love Spike better." Princess Celestia thought. Despite caring for her nephew, he wasn't exactly known for being her most cared family member. "But anyway, once he's here, you better behave yourself young stallion." Blueblood gritted his teeth. "Sure. Whatever you say auntie." The stewardess then arrived with Blueblood's order on a silver plate. "Here's your lunch sir. Grilled hay sandwich with..." Blueblood scuffed at her, and knocked the plate off her hands, and right on her face. "Forget the lunch. I'm out of here." As the spoiled prince stormed off, the stewardess dried off the sandwich remains from her face. Celestia sighed of her nephew's actions. "Sooner or later, you may learn to become a true gentle colt. But knowing you, it's probably later." Then she heard a voice yelling nearby. "Mom. I'm home!" Princess Celestia turned around, and saw her dragon son Spike running up to her. Celestia warmly smiled, as she stepped off from her chair, and kneeled down to his son's eyesight. Spike jumped into her arms, and happily hugged his adopted mother. "Spike, my son. So good to see you." Celestia happily muttered, while hugging him. Her happiness for her son's return, made her almost forget about her nerves earlier. The happiness with her son always made her heart shine up like her little own sun. "It's good to see you two mom. I've been looking so forward to be with you today." "So have I Spike." Celestia replied. They eventually both let go of their hug. "So mom. Can I ask you a few things?" Celestia smiled to her sun, and gently nudged him on his forehead. "Of course Spike. If there's anything you want to share with me, all you have to do is to ask." Spike smiled back. "Thanks. First I wanted to ask you about aunt Luna. Who has she been seeing lately?" "Oh, that's just Red. Luna's second in command from her Lunar troops." Celestia explained. "Him and Luna have been seeing each other sometimes, since he got recruited." "Wow for real? No doubt she sounded so shy in admitting it during the gate. Followed with her going off to see him, after showing me to the kitchen." Spike sheepishly chuckled, with his mother giving her own chuckle in return. They each both shared a little laughter together. After the small laugh was over, Spike's face turned a bit more on the nervous, and concerned side. Celestia was slightly confused from Spike's sudden expression. "Is something wrong Spike?" "Actually, I should be asking you that question mom." Spike replied, which made Celestia slightly surprised. "Are you okay from yesterday's night?" The princess felt her nerves return a little, and fell down on her knees a bit. Spike felt he asked his question the wrong way, and ran up to her. "Mom! I'm so sorry for asking. It's okay if you didn't wanna tell me." Celestia however did her best to smile, and placed her hand on Spike's left shoulder. "No Spike, it's okay. It doesn't hurt asking, as long as they do not regret from asking something wrong." "Right. But what did you witness from your nightmare?" Spike asked her. Celestia was quiet from Spike's question. She remembered her dark nightmare, witnessing the ponies from Canterlot suffer, her family, student, and friends all lost from her, and lastly with her being all alone, with the mysterious pony and even more mysterious stranger. The words that came out from the mysterious stranger were so unforgettable. Celestia couldn't feel the need to tell her son all the above, knowing that she might worry him, or worse. Spike made some hand gestures to her, by snapping his two claws, to snap her out from her thoughts. "Mom. You okay there?" The princess quickly snapped out of her thoughts, and regained eye contact with her son. "Oh right. Sorry son. I was just thinking of what I witnessed, from my nightmare. And to answer your question, I think it's best to let go of these thoughts. Nightmares are just wicked dreams you witness from inside your head." "That's just like how Luna would spill it." Spike said. "But I guess that's fair enough. Nightmares are just nightmares. Not real life." "Very true Spike." Celestia nodded. "Oh yeah. There is just one last thing I wanted to ask you. If that's alright with you." Spike said. "It's always alright to ask me Spike." Celestia smiled. Spike's face turned serious again, but different than before. "This is something i've been thinking of for a long time. Am I an ordinary dragon?" That took Celestia off guard, and was surprised at his sudden question. "Of... of course you are my son. You're just like what every dragon is on the outside." "Am I really mom? I've been a baby dragon since I was born, and when Twilight was still a young filly. Shouldn't I have been much older right now?" Spike asked, with a serious, yet still unsure expression. The princess had a hard time finding the right words to reply. Then the princess sighed. "I guess it's finally time that I confess to you about something Spike." Spike was surprised. "Wait? There really is something secret about me?" "Yes." Celestia nodded, before glancing to the stewardess. "Stewardess." "Yes my princess." The stewardess bowed her head. "Please leave the kitchen room. I want to be alone with my son." Celestia ordered. "Right Princess. I'll inform the rest of the kitchen staff." The stewardess nodded, as she walked away from the kitchen. In a few moments, Spike and Celestia were all alone in the room. "So mom. What is the secret about me?" Spike asked with an unsure expression. "Spike my son. There is something about you i've been hiding since I found your egg." Celestia began, while Spike listened careful to his mom's words. "Yes?" "Spike... the secret about you is..." Celestia started. "... you're no ordinary dragon." > Spike's origins > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spike stood in front of his adopted mother Princess Celestia, with a face expression made of nothing but surprise. The very reason he's stunned is due to listening to the special confession about himself, his mother just told him about. "Are you okay Spike?" The solar princess and the young drake's mother asked him. She stood down to her knees, to get closer to Spike's eyesight, and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. Spike soon shook the surprise and confusion off his face, and looked up to the alicorn. "M... Mom? What do you mean... that i'm no ordinary dragon?" "Spike. I understand your confusion, and I knew you would be surprised at your current age. I would've told you the truth a few years later, but it seems your confusion and paranoia about yourself made you rush into wanting truth earlier." Celestia told him, making sure that her son was being comforted. Her son then came up with another question in mind. One he wanted to ask since he heard his mother's confession. "Mom? If i'm not an ordinary dragon... then what am I?" Spike asked, while coming up while thinking of plenty possible answers to his own question. "Spike listen. Just because i'm saying you're special, doesn't mean that I see you any different on the inside." Celestia said, trying to calm the drake down. But Spike was too obsessed with the answer, and soon invaded the princess with lots of wild theories. "A hybrid? A dwarf dragon? Or an alien sent to this planet many years ago to destroy everypony and everything in my path?!" Celestia could clearly see Spike's desperation and obsession of hearing more about himself. She now knew it was time to tell him more. Celestia let out a small sigh, and stood up on her feet. "Spike... come with me." "Mom?" Spike asked, as he calmed down with his wild theories. Celestia lifted her drake son gently up to her arms until he was laid on top of her right shoulder. "I'll show you why you're a special dragon." Spike nodded, while Celestia started leaving the kitchen with Spike on her shoulder. Once she left the kitchen entirely, she went past the other castle's rooms, until she made to the chamber that once withheld the Elements Of Harmony. "That's the chamber that withheld the six Elements Of Harmony. Well until the Plunderseed incident of course." Spike thought in his own mind. "Does the answers to my origin lie inside the chamber?" Celestia made a magic key appear in her hands, and opened the lock with it. The chamber's gates were opened, and Celestia walked inside with her son. Spike looked around in the chamber. The room was completely empty beside a lone pedestal that the case, that withheld the Elements once stood. "Okay? We're in an empty room." Spike pointed out, while his adopted mother maintained a calm expression. "You sure ya didn't misguide us or something?" "Spike... watch." Celestia said with a small smile. She went to the old pedestal, and reached her hand toward it. But instead of above the tall pedestal, she reached her hand below it. Once her hand seemed close enough below, she appeared to be pushing something under the pedestal upper part. "CLICK!" It said. Spike then watched to his surprise, a hidden trapdoor on the wall, starting to open at the other side of the chamber. Through the recently opened door, there were a couple of stairs that led to the lower parts of the castle. "Wow. You sure gave this place a lot of features." Spike said, astounded of the feats the chamber has, which were one of the many things he barely knew of. "There are many things I haven't told you Spike." Celestia said. "But today, i'm going to tell you one of them." "Sweet. And I can already guess that down the stairs, contains something that involves me." Spike said. His excitement was burning up like his own fire. Celestia then reached the opened trapdoor, and walked through it, where she walked down the spiral shaped stairs. While walking down, there were slight darkness in their surroundings, but the torches around the staircase made up for it. They reached deeper and deeper into the castle's crypts. "Okay, now i'm unsure if I should feel excited, or really scared right now." Spike said while shaking a bit. Celestia gently scratched Spike's head. "It's alright Spike. We're at our destination in a few seconds." And the drake's adopted mom was indeed correct. The staircase reached it's end, and they both came to a secret room, incredibly unknown to Spike. "What is this room supposed to be?" "You will see very soon my son." Celestia assured him. She reached a nearby switch, and pushed it. Lights above them started to activate, and the room was no longer dark to their eyes. That gave Spike a good glimpse of the whole room. Spike looked around, and saw plenty of carvings on the walls. The first one had the carving of a small yellow dragon above some pony people. The next one had a carving of a huge yellow dragon, which was possibly the same one, fighting a hydra. On the carving it appeared around the same size of a normal adult dragon. And then the third and last one, contained a carving of the yellow dragon, starting to perish and leaving an egg behind. "Uhm... what do those carvings all mean? And what does have to do with me?" Celestia went to the first carving on the walls. "Spike... I want you to meet the image of an old friend of mine." She said, before starting to point at the humongous yellow dragon on the wall. "This here was Sprite, a dragon incredibly different from the other dragons." "Different? How?" Spike asked confused. He was unsure how the painting of the yellow dragon involved himself, but he knew that listening to his adopted mother's story was the better way of getting anywhere than just repeatedly asking questions over and over again. Celestia continued. "Sprite was no ordinary dragon. She was a rare breed known... as a Dragon God." "Dragon God?" Spike asked confused. "I've heard of Dragon Lords, but nothing about gods." "A Dragon God is an extremely rare and powerful breed of dragons. Legends says that this godly breed arises in Equestria once every 1500 years." "Wow. If they come every 1500 years, they sound pretty powerful." "And they are. Dragons who were of this rare and unique breed were considered far superior to both Alicorns, Draconequus, and any kind of magic that could ever exist in Equestria." Celestia explained. Spike was in awe, of hearing they're extreme power. "Maybe I should tell you the whole story, before you get too many questions in mind Spike." Princess Celestia suggested him. Spike could only silently nod to her in agreement. "1500 years ago, a few hundred years before The Tree Of Harmony was found, and 500 years before my sister became Nightmare Moon. I studied dragon eggs. Me and my researchers studied how they evolve inside the eggs from a single organism, into a fully evolved young life form. Each time we finished studying an egg, we returned them to the dragon nests safely. One day while we were looking for more dragon eggs, we stumbled upon a young abandoned, but quite cheerful baby dragoness. Her name was Sprite. Despite her young appearance, we were surprised to hear her real age. She mentioned herself to be around 80. Even I was stunned at her age confession. Normally a dragon should be a teen when their around 30, but Sprite was a special case. We asked her to come with us to our kingdom, which she accepted. We studied her body, but could find no answer for her young appearance despite her age. She even confessed that even herself had no idea why she looked young, but theorized that she was a dwarf in comparison to most dragons." "So she has been a baby for like... 80 years?" Spike asked. He was no doubt surprised of the dragoness of the past could stay that young for so long. "We can say that Spike. But back to the story." She said, before starting to continue her story. "After a few days of staying in me and my sister's castle, she decided to stay there, to probably find an answer to her own questions. Me and my sister didn't mind her staying, so we allowed her to. As the months went by, she was a close assistant and friend of mine. She learned to use her fire breath to send my letters around Equestria back those days, just like you do right now for Twilight, Spike." "Sweet." Spike said. Celestia smiled, before continuing her story. She went for the second carving, which made her smile disappear. "But one day, our kingdom was suddenly attacked by an aggressive and bloodthirsty hydra. The hydra had somehow been provoked enough to go on a huge killing spree. I used my magic to create a huge barrier around the castle, while my sister got everypony to safety. I tried holding it back until they were all safe, but I underestimated the hydra's brutal anger and power, as it soon bashed the barrier so hard that I lost my concentration, and the barrier was weakened enough for the hydra to penetrate it. Hope of protecting the city seemed lost at first, but then Sprite ran up in front of me, while standing in the way of the hydra. She refused to let me and the ponies die by the hands of the hydra, and tried defending me. The hydra was however unfazed by her, and attacked me while ignoring her. But that one action was a big mistake for the hydra, as Sprite was frozen at seeing me getting hurt, her anger boiled every second, her eyes started to turn pure blood red, and her size started to expand by an extreme amount. Sprite was now akin to an adult dragon minus wings. What makes her increased size different, is that instead of getting bigger through being filled by greed, she however was filled with pure rage and anger. But the biggest difference between her and adult dragons was not her sudden size increase. While I was recovering, I felt some strange energy so great, that I never knew somepony could become so powerful, even for a dragon. The battle between the giant sized Sprite and the aggressive hydra was intense. They scratched, bitted, and bashed each other around the kingdom, but neither of them gave up so easily. As I watched the fight, I also witnessed Sprite using something I never thought was possible for dragons. Out of her mouth, instead of breathing fire, she instead breathed a powerful beam of some sort toward the hydra. Even myself is unsure if she was using magic, since it appeared to be, but doesn't feel entirely like magic. That final beam proved to be the finishing blow for the hydra, as it lost every strength of continuing it's fight, and forced to retreat." "Neat story mom. Too bad I didn't bring any popcorn for it." Spike said. "So what happened afterwards?" Celestia's face turned sad, and small tears dropped from her eyes. "Spike..." Spike covered his mouth, and tried comforting his mother. "Mom. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you sad." The princess dried her tears off. "I know Spike. It's just... the outcome of the battle that hurt me more. Much more than the injuries I got from the battle against the hydra." Spike was surprised, but decided to continue listening. "After the hydra had retreated from the fight against Sprite, I suddenly felt her strength and energy dropping repeatedly. She fell to her knees, and then landed on the battleground down on her stomach. It was almost like that she was more than sick. I teleported over to her as quick as possible, and tried to cast my healing spells on her. But to my shock, my healing spells didn't even affect her, and she was losing more and more of her strength by the second. I could feel she was close at dying, and I went off to get medical attention for her as fast as I could. But even when I brought some of the finest doctors to check on her, they said that none of their medicine or magical support could help her current condition. They were even reluctant to tell me that she was going to die. I understood the situation, and couldn't get any of my sorrow out of it. But then to my surprise, before she lost what remained of her life force, she rose her claw up in the air, and used her claw finger to scratch some markings on the ground. That action led to her losing what remained of her energy, and she started to slowly fade away from existence, until there was nothing left of her. I couldn't stop letting my tears drop down from my eyes, while I went for the markings she drew on the ground, which turned out to be a final message for me. I read them carefully, which said;" "Celestia. I may have died from my fight protecting you, but I will always be in your heart. No matter where you are, or wherever I am, I will always be with you. And before I left the castle for you during the hydra's rampage, I left a note for you. Please read it, as a final request for me." "I was surprised that she left a note without my acknowledgement, but I decided to ignore the fact, and do what the note said, as a final request for my long gone friend. I went to her old room which was filled with numerous papers about dragon biology. I was curious of her research for a bit, and then I found the note on her bed." "Dear Princess Celestia, my dearest friend. I've been curious myself of why I was different than the other dragons, so I researched myself a bit, and pulled up numerous theories why I was different. I had one idea where to search for answers, but before I could go searching, I heard the hydra rampage, and decided to write this note if something should happen. If you wanna know more about my mysterious power boost, you should perhaps go to where we first met. There is a cave that I once lived on before we met, that withholds things not even I understood. You should go search for answers there. PS: There's one extra surprise in that cave that might perhaps appeal you." "After having recovered from the battle, along with the city being repaired, I went back to the same place me and Sprite first met; the old dragon nests. I searched around the area, until I found a cave like the note informed. I went into the cave, and saw some strange markings on the walls. The markings revealed dragons that appeared to be worshipped by ponies and other dragons. They stood like gods. Dragon Gods. On the next carving, there were lots of baby dragons. The next one showed some of them having grown to teenage dragons, all but a few dragons, who were still babies in appearance. That was quite a mystery for me, but they appeared to be similar to Sprite, and could probably sprout up in size like she did. Then I found something I wouldn't expect to find; a purple dragon egg." "A purple dragon egg? Wait... was that egg..." Spike shivered a little. "You're indeed correct Spike. That egg was you." Celestia confessed to her son. Spike was now dozens of times more confused of the situation of the past. "So wait... i've been an egg for like 1500 years?!" Spike exclaimed in surprise. Celestia could only nod in reply. "Bu... but how could i've been an egg for so long?" "Allow me to finish." Celestia shushed her son, before deciding to continue the story once more. "I took the purple dragon egg with me back to my castle. I thought that everything could be the same if the egg hatched so that I could have a new assistant just like Sprite used to be. I waited and waited. Days turned to weeks. Weeks turned to months. And months turned to years. But no matter how long I waited, the egg still wouldn't hatch. After having waited for the next 500 years, and having banished my younger sister, I decided to use my magic to check the egg's status. After scanning it with my magic, I felt some special hidden power from the inside. The energy was similar to Sprite's, except weaker, and needed energy to be sustained with. I saw the answer to hatching you, and decided to boost it with magic by a small amount. But even a small amount was enough to exhaust me a little, so I had to support it with magic once every month. But still after a century of supporting the egg, it still wasn't enough. But then one day, almost 1000 years after I banished my sister to the moon, one of the teachers accidentally took the dragon egg, and decided to use it for a test, a young unicorn needed to hatch, in order to pass a magical exam for my school for classed unicorns. She performed magic so great, that you were hatched at the moment it felt her magic course through it. Although you grew a bit too big at first, but she fixed it." Spike gasped in surprise. "Twilight. She sustained me with the magic to finally hatch me." Celestia smiled to him. "Exactly. This is how you were found, and how I found you. If it weren't for Sprite 1500 years ago, you might've still been a dragon egg." "Wow. So does that mean... that i'm... a god?" Spike asked with a big smile, thinking of all the cool stuff he could do. Celestia however shook her head. "That's something even i'm still not sure of. Your background is still filled with unsolved clues." "Aw man. And here I thought of creating an orb of magic, and turning it into a powerful beam. And in the meantime, I could also do a cool stance while charging it." Celestia gave him a grin while giggling. "Keep daydreaming my son." "Just one question. Since my egg was found near where you and Sprite met for the first time, does that mean i'm Sprite's ancestor?" Spike asked. "That's still something that could be possible." "Thanks for the storytelling mom. Your story gives me huge excitement and inspiration. And lots of answers I wanna find out." Spike said. He felt excited since the start of the storytelling, and now felt inspired of it. Then suddenly, Spike's stomach started to growl. "But maybe some lunch would be a great start." "I'll prepare you some lunch for the two of us." Celestia said with a smile. "Now let's get back to the cafeteria. I might have some gems I can offer you." "Sweet." Spike said with a smile. Soon, both Celestia and Spike left the secret room, and up the stairs, to go get some lunch for the latter. > Researching the creature > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Back in Ponyville, the ponies were in the middle of solving a mystery in their hoofs. After having beaten the unknown creature, Rainbow Dash explained to her friends about how the creature knew her name. That statement took her friends by surprise, as they found the creature more mysterious than before. How can a creature they've never encountered before know about Rainbow's identity? That's what they're about to find out. They all decided to study it at the best place as possible. At the gates of Castle Of Friendship, Twilight has just entered her home with her friends. Along with them, Applejack was dragging a pulling cart that withheld a single barrel that contained the slimy remains of their mysterious foe, Prototype 0.1 to the alicorn's castle. The deceased unknown creature's remains were carried inside a farm barrel they lent from Sweet Apple Acres. Though Applejack was slightly hesitant in going along with using her barrel for such unusual deeds in carrying dead slimy meat remains, she acknowledged what was necessary at the moment. She was never really posh about certain things. A trait her friend; Rarity possessed. As the ponies walked through the castle's halls, Rainbow decided to fly in front of Twilight who was also the pony that lead them around the castle now. Rainbow gazed at her alicorn friend while slipping out a small yawn. "Okay egghead. Where exactly do we go to find out more about this stranger?" She asked. "Or his gross remainings to be exact." She let her tongue out in disgust while she glanced at the barrel Applejack was pulling. "The kitchen?" That question earned a gasp from Pinkie. "Not the kitchen! That's where we bake our cupcakes. And plenty more delicious treats." She exclaimed in horror. "We can't bring those gross slimy remaining there." "No. We're heading for my castle laboratory." Said Twilight. Both Rainbow and Pinkie's faces got confused. "Castle laboratory?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Awesome!" "The old one back in the Golden Oak Library was destroyed by Tirek months ago. So Princess Celestia supported my hobby for research, and gave me the necessary tools and resources to make a new one to replace the old." "Yeah! The kitchen is safe!" Cheered Pinkie Pie. Twilight shook her head from her friend's cheerfulness. Soon they made it to a purple door with the sign of a science beaker on it. "Here it is. My new laboratory." Said Twilight. She took a grip on the door handle, and opened the door. The 6 mares walked inside, and found the place akin to the old laboratory from the Golden Oak Library. The lavender alicorn princess walked toward the wall left to her, where a lab coat was hanging on a coat hook. She now wore the lab coat, so that she was more prepared for her scientific work. Now Twilight walked to the lab table, on the center of her lab. She kneeled down, and pulled out a large science glass beaker from beneath the table. "Good thing I save those for larger researches." She calmly placed it on the table. "Okay Applejack. Bring me the remains over to this table, and pour it down on this small science tube." Ordered Twilight. Applejack did not hesitate to disobey, as she took the barrel from the pulling cart. "Alright everypony. Just like before, do not try to puke at watching those remains again." Applejack warned them. Rainbow went to Pinkie's ear. "Do we even have to watch it?" She whispered with the sound of disgust in her voice. The others could do nothing but agree with Rainbow's statement. "I cannot watch this... revolting pile of disgusting slime. Sorry ladies, but i'll have to join Rainbow Dash's side, and turn the other way around." Said Rarity. Soon all of Twilight's friends but Applejack turned around. "Oh sure. Leave this hardworking gal to do the part everyone disgusts to watch." She sarcastically mumbled. The cowgirl took out a barrel opener, and unlocked the lid to it. Once the lid was out, she lifted the barrel up in the air, and poured the slimy green remains all over the glass beaker. Twilight then closed the glass tube with a lid next. Applejack turned to Twilight. "Now what do we do Twilight?" "Now we just have to place it inside my D.N.A Scanning Ray Researcher, to see the mysteries of this mysterious creature." "Or the D.N.A.S.R.R for short?" Asked Pinkie Pie. The others stared at her blankly. "What? The name was way too long, so I came up with a shorter version. You see, i took the first letter of each word, not counting D.N.A though, as it's made up by 3. And then you got D.N.A.S.R.R." Twilight ignored Pinkie's opinion, and placed the tube inside the opening of a large square shaped grey machine with a screen in the middle of it. Once she closed the opening, she pressed the green button next to it. A small lamp on top turned from yellow to red. "Okay girls, i've placed it inside my machine. It'll only take a few moments." Now the others turned around once more, now that the remains were out of their sights. "Finally. Now we cannot have anymore possible moments to puke, vomit, or anything as disgusting as..." Rarity places a hand on Rainbow Dash's mouth, silencing her. "Shush Rainbow. We get it." She said. "You don't have to express your disgust further... even if we do share your opinion." Rainbow slapped Rarity's hand off her mouth, but without hurting her friend. "Okay. Sorry. Maybe if that thing weren't that gross to look at, while we fought it in the farm, maybe i would've forgotten all about it by now." "Then if you do dislike his remains, then please keep it for yourself." Said Rarity for Rainbow's advice. The two mares butted their heads toward one another, and stared at each other with a glare. Then Twilight teleported between both Rarity and Rainbow Dash, and pushed them away from each other. "Please stop fighting you two and focus. We'll soon find out more about our mysterious foe." And Twilight's words were correct. The D.N.A.S.R.R's lamp glowed green, and a small plasma screen popped out of it. "There. Now my D.N.A.S.R... no the D.N.A Scanning Ray Researcher has found out more about his inner organs." "So how's it going to do it's job?" Asked Fluttershy. While the creature was evil and destructive, she couldn't tolerate creatures dying almost no matter what creature she encountered. The screen activated, making it glow all yellow from it's none brighting light. The screen pops out the picture of the body of Prototype 0.1's body just before it got melted to death. "There we have what he originally looked like. He looks practically the same." Said Twilight. The mares waited a bit more, until the screen started to change again. The body of Prototype 0.1 started to morph into a ball of jelly. Fluttershy gasped at it's change. "What... what just happened now?" "Fascinating. He seems to not have been born from mating season." Twilight theorized. Her other friends on the other hand were not as excited of hearing the theory. "Sugarcube, please focus about explaining more about his change." Pleaded Applejack. Twilight snapped out of her temporary obsession. "Oh. Sorry about that. Back to the case. This creature seems to not have been born from normal means. Like how mammalian beings reproduce through... the bird and the bees. Or how birds, fish, reptilians, or insectoids lay eggs." Rainbow raised her eyebrow a bit. "Then how did this... thing come alive? And how he knows about my name?" "If he's not born from any other creature. Then that makes this thing... artificial." "Artificial? As in none-living creatures?" Fluttershy asked Twilight. The lavender alicorn shook her head though. "While he is artificial. He was too alive. Not to mention he sounded almost like a whole intelligent creature. It's as if somepony out here has created him somehow." "I think we'll find out more clues soon. Look! The ball on the screen is changing." Pinkie Pie exclaimed, as she violently pointed her finger toward the screen. The ball on the screen then started to split into two smaller balls. Both begun morphing to two individual beings. While both grew arms, legs, and a head, the first one gained a wild hair style above, and the other goofy hair that goes all over the head. The two individuals now had the appearance of two familiar ponies. "Hey... now it looks just like me and Pinkie Pie!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. Both her and Pinkie were shocked to see themselves on the screen. The rest were just as flabbergasted. Fluttershy was absolutely not sure why two of her friends would show up. Rarity felt the same way as Fluttershy. Applejack had no clue either. Twilight on the other hand was pulling the things together. "I think this explains it." Twilight says, while turning her head toward Rainbow's. "Rainbow Dash. The creature knows about you... because he's made of you." That statement made Rainbow Dash's jaw fall down on the ground. Pinkie was just as flabbergasted as Rainbow, as she was also on the screen. "So wait... does that mean this thing is... me and Rainbow Dash's son? Or daughter?" "What?! No! This thing can't be ours Pinkie! First i'm not fit to be a mother! And second, we're both mares for crying out loud!" Exclaimed Rainbow Dash right toward Pinkie's face in embarrassment. "I know that. But i've heard it's still possible for stallions and mares to tie the knot, even if they're the same gender." Pinkie Pie pointed out. "Are you sure you didn't have a special thing for me?" Rainbow felt a tad bit too embarrassed to answer Pinkie Pie's question. Before Pinkie could open her mouth again, Rarity now placed her hand at Pinkie's. "Shush darling. Don't embarrass her. And besides, you're seriously not saying that you're having a thing for Rainbow? Are you?" "Well... no. But she's such a sweet friend of mine. She's as sweet as the bestest cupcake in the world." "Girls! Can we get back to the subject?" Twilight yelled to gain the attention of her friends. It succeeded, as they all turned to her. "Thank you. Now the thing is, somepony out here has created this thing out of both Rainbow Dash's, and Pinkie Pie's DNA. And by merging them together through the use of biotechnology, they seemed to have created a creature that possesses the combined strength, speed, and intelligence of both Dash and Pinkie's. I even have to admit, that's quite impressive, even though that combo did make it vulnerable to my magic." "I don't know if you should praise the enemy here Twilight. But now that we know what we've been up against... there's just one question in mind. Who exactly created that darn thing?" Applejack asked. While Twilight would love to answer, she was as clueless as her friend. "I don't really know myself. I don't even know who would do such a thing, yet alone use biotechnology for such destruction." "We don't know any better than you Twilight. But you'll find out. We know you can do it." The honest mare placed her hand on Twilight's shoulder to show her compassion. That made Twilight smile. "Well... while you're are at it darling, i think i'll head back to my boutique. Once i'm back there, i'm gonna take a nice hot bath." Rarity said. She walks out of the door, preparing to head home. Fluttershy had a similar idea in mind. "And i gotta return to Angel. He must be really worried about me. Not to mention it's way past his lunch time." She soon joined Rarity with leaving the castle, and gently jolted her way out of the door. "I'll keep studying the remains. There might be a few more clues." Said Twilight. "Yeah sure go ahead egghead. I need to prepare myself, if another one of these things are gonna attack me from behind again." Rainbow then flew out through the door. "Bye Twilight. I need to go back and bake some cupcakes." Pinkie said. Both she and Applejack left the room together, leaving her alone in the laboratory to work. "Who would exactly create such artificial creatures? Princess Celestia rejected this kind of science years before i even enrolled to the school for gifted unicorns. I would send Princess Celestia a letter, but Spike's there to visit her, as they are family." Twilight thought. She walked toward the science table, to begin doing her work. "For now, i should just give her some peace with Spike, while i work on this situation more, now that we know what we'll be up against."
