Sequel to Rainbows and jealousy and Rainbows and music This is the third story in the rainbows and stories trilogy First one was Rainbows and music. I recommend you read those stories first cause there is quite a lot of character development in those two stories. and if you read them this story will make more sense.
After the whole Thunderlane thing was over couple of weeks ago Soarin and Rainbow Dash can finaly star their new life together. but the trade negotiations between Equestria and Saddle arabia go south and the world is at the brink of a war. Tragic love story between Soarin and Rainbow Dash whose future together is threatened by war and death.

“The Kingdom of Saddle arabia has refused the latest trade deal and the relations between Equestria and Saddle arabia have been devastated. Princess Celestia has been trying to negotiate a new deal but it will be unlikely that a new oil deal will happen.” The news caster said on the tv and continued. “Also in the news the supreme court of Equestria has dropped all the charges in the wonderbolt murder case. The court decided that the suspect acted in self-defence and the charges against her were dropped. But the other suspect. a former captain in the air force. has retired from service in the air force.”
“Well look at that even I made it in to the news.” a white stallion with a neon blue mane said and turned off the tv.
“Yeah… I’m glad it’s all over now.” a baby blue stallion said and hugged a cyan coloured mare who was laying next to him on the couch. ad gave her a kiss.
“Hey… you two know the rules… no rutting on the couch.” The white stallion said.
“We know… relax Spin.” the Rainbow coloured mare said.
“I’ve already seen you two do it on that poor couch once.” Spin said and raised and eye brow.
“Shut up. this isn’t your house only anymore. it’s also mine and Soarin’s too.” She said and smiled
“Yeah yeah… but you two can’t live here forever.” Spin said and looked at Soarin.
“Don’t worry we’ll get our own place once I’m cleared by the wonderbolts to fly again.” Soarin said and stood up from the couch and walked to the door of his room. “But until then… I think that me Dash have some things to do…” Soarin said and gave seductive gaze to Dash.
“Oh come on you two can’t have sex every night.” Spin said and walked into his room.
“What? are you getting jealous?” Soarin said and looked at Spin.
“Jealous? well… yes. how the fuck did you get her while I can’t even score a date with Spitfire.” Spin said in an annoyed tone.
“Well I guess I got all the charisma and you got whatever was left.” Soarin said and chuckled.
“Whatever. Just don’t be too loud. I would like to sleep at least a bit tonight.” Spin said and slammed his room’s door shut and yelled. “Good night.”
“Well… dash now than we’re alone…” Soarin said as Dash walked in to his room.
“You know your brother has a point. we can’t live here at your holiday home forever.” Dash said as she walked in to the room.
“Yeah I know that. once I get cleared to fly we’re gonna buy our dream house where we’ll gonna live with our future foals.” Soarin said while smiling.
“I love you Soar.”
I love you Dashie.”
And that said two of them walked in to Soarin room and closed the door behind them.
Morning sun came through the window hit their faces. Dash didn’t open her eyes but se buried her face into Soarin’s chest and said. “How was it?”
“It was awesome as always.” Soarin said and kissed her forehead and hugged her.
Two of them just laid there on the bed and held each other for minutes. Until they could hear a knock on the door.
“Come in.” Soarin said and the door opened. “Oh were we too loud again?”
“What do you think… anyway this came in today.” Spin said and gave Soarin a letter.
“Commander Soarin you have been cleared to fly again in the 1st areal demonstration team. From captain Spitfire of the wonderbolt.” Soarin read the letter out loud. Dash could only watch as a huge smile grew to Soarin’s face.
“Well I guess well be going out to Cloudsdale for some house shopping today.” Dash said and hugged Soarin.
“Yeah finally our life together can start.” Soarin said and kissed her hard.
“I hate to break your moment.... but I think you two deserve to know this.” Spin said and the two of the looked at him. “I have been drafted back to the Air force as a captain of the 1st naval aviation squadron.”
“Why? I thought that you were done flying for the air force.” Soarin asked him.
“I was done but I can’t say no to the supreme commander of the armed forces.” Spin said and looked at the ground.
“Why would they ask you back?” Dash asked him and looked at Soarin.
“The situation with the Saddle Arabians hasn’t gone too well… Everyone knows that Equestria needs that Saddle Arabian oil but they are not willing to sell it to us… some generals think that we might have to go and get it if Celestia can’t negotiate a new deal.” Spin said looking very worried.
“Celestia wouldn’t declare a war over some oil… right?” Dash asked. she was worried that now that everything was going well some stupid war would come and ruin her future.
“The Equestrian economy is heavily depending on the oil sales that happen is Saddle arabia. And most of the generals think that a war would be a good thing to boost the private military industrial sector and a nice boost to the economy.” Spin said and looked at Soarin. “That’s why I think they want you back too… if we were to go in and invade Saddle arabia it wouldn’t be a short war… we both know what happened during the last invasion of Trottoman empire.”
“Do you really think that Celestia would do it?” Soarin asked him.
“I dunno… but I need to go back to the air force and serve my country… they say that I would be deployed on to the carrier Dawnbreaker for three months. and the Carrier was last seen sailing away from the north-sea toward the gulf of horsea.” Said and turned away. “if I were you Soarin I would do it quickly… just in case.” Spin said and walked away leaving Soarin and Dash in the room.
“Soarin… do you think we’re gonna be in a war soon?” Dash asked Soarin with a worried look.
“I’m sure that Celestia will negotiate the trade deal and war won’t need to happen. but on the mean while I have still three days before I have to report to the HQ… so what do you say if we go and star looking for a house.” Soarin said and looked at Dash. with a smile on his face.
“Yeah let’s go.” And two of them were quickly off to Cloudsdale to look for a new house that they could call their own.
Dash and Soarin were flying towards Cloudsdale. the warm summer wind made their mane flicker in the wind as they held each-others hooves and smiled. They could see that every pony was enjoying the warm summer weather even thou everyone knew that there would be a storm brewing in the future if the trade deal fell out flat.
Dash and Soarin had picked Cloudsdale for their home for a couple of reason. number one being that the wonderbolt HQ was located there and Soarin had to get to work fast. but also both of them grew up in Cloudsdale and Dash’s parents lived there. Also Cloudsdale is the dream town for every Pegasus in Equestria. Cloudsdale had everything that a Pegasus could wish from a city. It was the perfect place to settle down. in wasn’t too far from Ponyville and it would be the perfect place for raising foals.
They had already been to a couple of cloud houses but they hadn’t yet found the perfect one for them. but it changed when they arrived at the last house.
“Sunshine avenue 13.” Soarin said as they arrived at the house. it was huge even bigger than Dash’s old house. The house was surrounded by a fence which gave it a royal feeling. there was a fountain in the middle of the front yard and the pillars in front of the house looked like they were in Chanterlot. The front yard of the house was large and the house was on top of a small hill. The house itself was two stories high and it had huge windows and it looked like it was meant for royalty.
“I think this is it…” Dash said as she looked at the house.
“Maybe we should look at it from the inside too.” Soarin said and they walked to the door and knocked on it.
“Hello how my name is shining keys and I’m the real estate agent for this house.” The brownish mare said and smiled at the two of them.
“Umm… hello my name is Soarin and this is Rainbow Dash. And we are looking for a house to buy.” Soarin said as two of them walked in to the house and looked at the grandness of it.
The room height was huge and the rooms were large as well they could see the kitchen and the living room both of them were huge rooms. sure the fact that the house had no furniture in it made it look even larger than it already was and the white walls and huge windows didn’t help it either.
“Well as you can see this is a huge house… master bedroom is upstairs there are also five other bedrooms up there. living room is here downstairs with the kitchen and the dining room and two other rooms. also down here are one bathroom, shower and a sauna. upstairs there are two bathrooms one of them is connected to the master bedroom. also there is a basement which has a custom made sports bar.” The mare told the as they were looking around the house.
“Who was the previous owner?” Soarin asked as he looked the white rooms and thought about what he and Dash could do to each one of them.
“Well… the house was originally built to the duke of Vanhoover as a holiday home but he sold it quickly to a mister Fancy pants who is selling it now. he made the bar to the basement and build the garden up. the house went through full renovations last year and is in pristine condition.” The mare told them.
“Well Dash. what do you think?” Soarin said and walked next to Dash.
“I think it’s perfect.” She said and kissed Soarin.
“How much is he asking for this?” Soarin asked the mare.
“Only one point five million.”
“Oh jeez… Soarin there is now way we can afford this.” Dash said and looked Soarin.
“Dashie you sold your old house for two five hundred thousand bits and my wonderbolt paycheck will cover the rest easily.” Soarin said and hugged her.
“Really? I dunno it’s still super expensive… and it has way too much room anyways.” Dash said and looked a bit said.
“Well we have five extra bed rooms upstairs… I say one will be the visitors bed room and one could be a bed room for my brother since he is gonna be around a lot and one would be for Scootaloo when she come back from the summer camp. the room downstairs could be made to be a tea room and a library. the basements bar could be turned in to some sort of man cave for me and my brother… and the two bedrooms next to the master bedroom would be for a little colt and the other one for a little filly.” Soarin said and kissed Dash to the forehead.
“I guess you have it all planned… fine this will be our home.” Dash said and kissed Soarin.
“My lawyer will be in contact and will do the transaction.” Soarin said and looked at the real estate agent.
“Great well let’s get your names on the paper and I’ll wait for your lawyers call.” The mare said and smiled.
They signed the papers and soon it was all done they would get the keys tomorrow when Soarin's lawyer had made the payment. but before that they still had a night to enjoy so they setup a meeting in the wonderful wing restaurant with Spin so they could talk about what would happen now than they had their own house.
Soarin and Dash arrived to the wonderful wing and walked in.
“Hello we I have a table reserved for three.” Soarin said to the waiter.
“Name please.” the waiter asked him but before he could answer it a male voice came from behind him.
“Mister Soarin Dash.” Spin said and walked next to Dash.
“You know that were not married.” Dash said to Spin.
“Yet.” Spin smiled to Dash and walked off behind the waiter who lead them to their booth.
“Well… I suppose there is a reason you wanted to meet?” Spin said as they were eating.
“Yes… we just got done with buying a house.” Soarin said and smiled.
“Oh that’s great… now I don’t have to listen to you two all night.” Spin said and smiled.
“It’s quite a big one… and we made sure that there were enough room for you and Scootaloo.” Dash said and smiled at Soarin. “Also there is some room for an small expansion to our little family.”
“Also I’m gonna need your help redesigning the basement bar. I was thinking that we would make it into a clubhouse for us and our friends at the air force. you know a privet bar with an aviation theme.”
“That all sounds wonderful… but I have some news about the new trade deal that Celestia has suggested to the Saddle Arabians… it doesn’t look good. they would never accept it.” Spin said and looked at Soarin.
I’m getting deployed tomorrow to the EQS Dawnbreaker. And the rumour that goes around the captains is that the wonderbolts will be also deployed sooner or later.” Spin said and looked at Dash who had grasped Soarin’s hoof.
“But the war can be still avoided… right?” Dash asked him.
“I dunno if that is gonna happen. there is a storm gathering in the horizon and it’s not gonna go away… Soarin you know what you have to do before the rainy days start…” Spin told them in a super serious tone.
“You are getting back to the wonderbolts in what three days?” Spin asked Soarin.
“Yeah.” Soarin said to him “Well make sure those three days are gonna be good onces… because you never know when you last flight is gonna happen when you are flying in a combat zone.” Spin said and stood up. “I’ll meet you guys tomorrow at the house. have a good night.” And then he walked off leaving Dash and Soarin in silence.
”I guess we’ll be spending the rest of the evening together Soar,” Dash said seductively but Soarin didn’t react.
“Soarin are you ok?” Dash said and waved her hoof in front of Soarin’s face.
“Yeah… I was just thinking.” Soarin said as Dash cut his thoughts.
“About…” Dash asked.
“What Spin said… but we have still this night and two days before I get deployed… so let’s make them good onces.” Soarin said and kissed Dash.
He knew what Spin meant by saying that Soarin knew what he needed to do before he would get deployed.
“Let’s go I need to show you something.” Soarin said and grabbed Dash’s hoof and they walked out of the restaurant and flew off.
The full moon was high and it light up the wold. Everything was clam as two of them flew out of Cloudsdale and landed near a hill. hill was surrounded by a green field and on top of the hill grew an old oak tree. Two of them walked up the hill and sat down under the tree to admire the beauty of the scenery.
“Soarin… what is this place… it’s so beautiful.” Dash said and leaded in to Soarin’s chest.
“This place is called Horizon hill… where ever you look you can see the horizon always clearly” Soarin said as he was looking at the horizon.
“Dash… I don’t know if there will be a war in the future… but I know that if there will be a war I have to fight.”
“No you Don’t have to… You could stay here with me.” Dash said and hugged him.
“If the wonderbolts get deployed I have to… if I refuse they will kick me out… I have worked so hard to get where I’m today. I won’t leave the ‘bolts even if I have to fight. being a part of the ‘bolts have been my dream and I won’t let it go. I’m sorry but this is something I gotta do.” Soarin said and a tear formed in his eye.
“It’s ok… I understand. but if you get deployed please be careful.” Dash said and hugged him.
“I will promise that is you say yes.” Soarin said and looked at Dash.
“What do you mean?” Dash asked him
“I was planning to do this a bit later but as Spin said you never know when your last flight is gonna be in a combat zone. I don’t want to die knowing that I never asked you this but… will you marry me?” Soarin said as he revealed a beautiful diamond ring from his wing.
“Soarin… of course I will.” Dash said and cried out tears of happiness and he put the ring into her left hoof and kissed her. Two of the just hugged each other until Soarin said. “Dash if I get deployed please don’t worry about me I promise I will come back.”
“I know you will… but the war doesn’t have to happen… I’m sure that the Princesses will be able to fix this.”
“I sure hope so.” Soarin said and kissed Dash.
The next day dawned and two of them were at their newly bought home putting some furniture in place. They had already made the master bedroom for themselves and now they were working on the living room but Soarin stopped working and asked Dash.
“You know Spin said that he would be here… it’s usually me who is late for our meetings.” Soarin said.
“I’m sure he is ok… probably trying to score a date with Spitfire.” Dash said and chuckled.
“Haha very funny.” Spin said as he walked in. he was clearly worried and was looking really stressed.
“Soarin?” Spin said.
“Yeah what’s up.”
“Today at 0600 hours the Kingdom of Equestria declared war on the Kingdom of Saddle arabia. we are at war. First landings were done by the Royal army today at 0900 hours but they walked into a trap… twenty thousand killed in action or missing.” Spin said and looked at the ground. Silence fell upon the three of them. they knew what this meant… the storm had arrived. Both Dash and Soarin were shocked. Twenty thousand soldiers dead...
“I’m getting deployed today... me and the wardog squad are going to carry out air strike missions from the EQS Dawnbreaker.” Spin said and walked up to Soarin. “I’m not supposed to tell you this but the wonderbolts will be deployed to the EQS Skywalker tomorrow… did you do it?” He asked Soarin.
“Yes… I did.”
“Great… I’m really happy for the two of you… but I have to go.”
“I guess we will see each other at the victory parade in couple of weeks.” Soarin said trying to be cheerful.
“I don’t think we'll be there to see it.” Spin said and hugged Soarin and then walked to Dash.
“Please look after yourself and if Soarin get deployed watch him too.” Dash said and hugged Spin.
“I will. don’t worry. I know that you two love each other and I couldn’t have asked a better wife for my brother. when this is all over I want to be an uncle… ok.” Spin said and whipped off the tears from his eyes and left the house.
“I guess you will go tomorrow then.” Dash said and whipped off her tears.
“I guess so.” Soarin said and hugged his fiancée. “Whatever happens in the next few months please be strong… for me.”
“I promise to be strong for you Soarin.” Dash said gave him a kiss. “Do you think this war is gonna be over in a couple of weeks?” Dash asked him.
“The first wave of the invasion was a total disaster. while Celestia was trying to negotiate a better deal the Saddle Arabians were prepping for war… we’re lucky if we win it in a couple of months. and when it comes to war… there will never be winners.” Soarin said and looked Dash into her eyes.
“Soarin… there is something I haven’t told you about.” Dash said and looked at Soarin. “I didn’t want to tell you before I was completely sure… but I think it’s pretty much 100% confirmed now…”
“You know you can tell me anything Dash.” Soarin said and looked at her. “Tell me what is it?” he was worried about her.
”You… Rainbow Dash… are pregnant… with a foal?” Soarin said in disbelief.
“Yes…” Dash said she was scared that Soarin might not approve this foal… but he was the one who was always talking about getting them.
“And I’m the father?” Soarin asked.
“Yes.” as Dash said and Soarin Hugged her and kissed her harder than ever before.
“That’s great news. Dash I’m so happy. Not only I have the most awesome mare as my wife but she will be the mother of my foals.” Soarin said as tears of joy flowed down his cheeks. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier.”
“I didn’t want to stress you more than you already were… you know this war and you and Spin getting deployed… but I think you deserved to know. after all we’re almost married.” Dash said and smiled.
“Frist thing we do when I get a holiday we’ll get married… how many months are you into it.”
“This is the first month… so if you guys win the war in a couple of months you will be back in time for the birth of your first foal.” Dash said and kissed Soarin. “And also I kinda have to tell you this because I have a doctor’s appointment in an hour. you know just to make sure I’m really pregnant and not just my brains doing tricks on me.” She said and two of them looked into each-others eyes.
They quickly got done with the living rooms furniture and left the house to get to the hospital.
“Hello my name is Doctor Bandage. and you had a possible pregnancy… right?” The doctor said.
“Yeah” Dash said as she held hoofs with Soarin who saw also present.
“Well the test would confirm that you are pregnant. in a couple of month please come around here for some more test so we can be sure that the foal is doing ok.” The Doctor said as the two lovers left the room.
“Umm… Soarin?” Dash asked as they walked through the hospital.
“Yeah what’s wrong Dashie?” Soarin asked her.
“Nothing… but I think we should probably go and tell my parents that firstly I have a coltfriend that is about to leave and fight a war and who is also my fiancé and who is going to be the father of my foal.” Dash said and continued. “And you thought that your brother had a bad first impression of me.” She laughed a bit.
“Your right… your dad is gonna probably murder me… I probably should have met them before I asked if you wanted to marry me or before I got you pregnant.” Soarin panicked a bit.
“Relax… like they wouldn’t be happy that I’m gonna marry a wonderbolt who is going to be a war hero.” Dash said and kissed Soarin.
“Well… you lead I follow.” Soarin said and two of the flew across Cloudsdale to a small neighbourhood. Dash landed in front of a regular looking Cloud house and stated to walk towards the door.
“You nervous?” Dash asked Soarin.
“Yeah.” Soarin said and tried to relax. as Dash knocked on the door.
“Start praying.” Dash said and smiled at Soarin.
all the sudden the door opened and mare with a firey mane said. “Dash?”
“Hi mom.” Dash answered and the two hugged each other.
“You haven’t visited us in such a long time… and who is this?” the mare asked.
“Mom this is Soarin. Soarin this is my mother Firefly.” Dash said and stepped aside.
“It is a pleasure to meet you Firefly.” Soarin said and shook her hoof.
“Well… it has been a long time since you where here but even longer time when you have brought a coltfriend with you.” Firefly said and yelled back into the house. “Rainbow blaze come here!”
“What is it now… Dash?” He said and ran up and hugged her daughter.
“Dad I’ve missed you too.” Dash said and hugged her father.
“Who is he?” Rainbow blaze said pointing at Soarin.
“He’s Dash’s new coltfried.” Firefly said and smiled.
“Umm… could we talk inside some more.” Dash said and walked in. She could see her father looking at Soarin and judging him. after all she had once before picked a wrong colt. so her father was a bit overprotective. after all what kinda parent wouldn’t take things seriously after his daughter were raped and abused. All four of them walked in and sat in the living room both pairs facing each other. Soarin could feel the daggers that Blaze were staring into him.
“So Dash… I heard you sold your own house at ponyville. your friends didn’t want to tell why.” Firefly asked her. he soon realised that her parents had no idea what happened between her, Thunderlane and Soarin back at the house. after all the court case was being handled behind closed doors. She knew that if she told her parents now that she almost killed Soarin and actually killed Thunderlane they would freack out completely. so she didn’t tell them.
“Yeah… I just wanted to move in with Soarin. We just bought a house from here.” Dash quickly said.
“Moving in with him already? well I guess he is a one hell of a coltfriend.” Blaze said and gave a stern glare.
“Actually… he isn’t my coltfriend… he is my fiancé.” Dash said and blushed a bit.
“WHAT!” Both of her parents yelled in unison. Soarin could feel the tension grow.
“Actually he is also gonna be the father of my first foal” Dash said and put her arm behind her head and tried to smile even thou she was scared.
“WHAT!” they yelled again.
Dash knew that Soarin had a lot of explaining to do…
”I thought that you would have learned from last time what happens if you rush into marriage.” Blaze said and started walking towards Dash and Soarin.
“And you who do you think you are making my daughter pregnant and marrying him without asking me.” Blaze said as he got right up to Soarin’s face. “What do you have to say for youself before I dismantle you.”
“Umm… I’m not really sorry.” Soarin said and stood his ground he knew that if he gave Blaze the ground he would make sure that he and Dash would never meet again.
“Excuse me? Do you have any idea what Dash had been though with colts like you.” Blaze said and was ready to strike Soarin with his fist.
“I know what she has been though… but I don’t think you know what I’ve been through for her.” Soarin said angrily and didn’t even try to block the strike and just closed his eyes and waited… but he didn’t hit him.
“What have you ever done to her other than gotten her pregnant?” Blaze asked Soarin. Dash knew this was it… Soarin had to tell her father the truth.
“Well firstly I let her almost kill me for her little sister and I tried to fight Thundrlane off and also I have bought us our dream house where we will raise our foals.” Soarin said confidently and put his arm over Dash’s shoulders.
“What do you mean fought off Thunderlane and let her stab you?” Blaze asked him and Soarin explained all that happened before with Thunderlane.
“Is this true Dash… you actually killed him…” Her father asked in disbelief.
“Yes… I’m sorry.” Dash replied and started crying against Soarin’s chest.
“Don’t be that bastard had it coming.” Dash’s dad said to her and turned to Soarin. “I guess after all of that you really aren’t that bad… So Soarin what do you do as a job?” Blaze asked now with a more relaxed tone.
“I fly for the 1st areal demonstration team in the air force.” Soarin said to him.
“You mean the wonderbolts?” Firefly asked.
“Yeah… or at least I did. the wonderbolts are getting deployed to the carrier EQS Skywalker and we are going to be fighting in Saddle arabia soon.” Soarin said and looked at Dash.
“You do realise that this war is gonna be a horrible one… twenty thousand stallions slaughter to the beaches of Saddle arabia… we aren’t gonna win this war easily.” Blaze said and shook his head.
“Yeah… but I have to I would never leave the wonderbolt and my brother is too going to fight. he is geting deployed today to the carrier EQS Dawnbreaker.” Soarin said and looked at Blaze
“What squad does he fly in?” Blaze asked he all the sudden was very interested about everything.
“1st naval aviation squad. his name is Flat spin hi is the captain of the squad.” Soarin told him
“Ha the kid went far… I always knew he had it in him but still to be the captain of the legendary wardog squad… that’s great.” Blaze said and smiled.
“You know my brother?” Soarin asked him
“Hell yes he was the best flyer I have ever trained.” Blaze said with proudness flowing through him. “but less about him and more about the foal… colt or a filly?” Blaze asked.
“We don’t know yet.” Dash answered.
“Names?” Firefly asked.
“I was thinking that if it’s a filly she would be called Horizon Dash after the place Soarin proposed me.” Dash said and looked at Soarin with a huge smile and he gave one back. “But if it’s a colt the he will be named Rainbow Spectrum.”
“Well you sure have thought about name even thou you have a lot of time before he or she is ready to pop out… talking about time.” Firefly said and looked at the clock.
“Oh my Soarin we need to get going. we have to meet with you brother before he leave for the carrier.” Dash said and stood up.
“Right. follow me.” Soarin said. they said their good byes to Dash’s parents and took off flying.
They landed to the docks and stated walking toward a huge Carrier that had the name “EQS Dawnbreaker” on its side.
“Woah… this thing is huge.” Dash said as she watched as ponies were saying good byes to their oved ones.
“Let’s hope he didn’t go inside yet.” Soarin said and they walked through the docks.
“There he is.” Dash said and pointed at the white pony with neon blue mane in full officer uniform standing at the edge of the dock and looking out to the sea.
“Spin!” Soarin yelled and ran up to him and hugged him.
“I’m glad to see that you came to say good byes to me.” Spin said and smiled.
“Yeah actually we also have some news to you.” Dash said and walked up to Spin and gave him a hug too.
“Actually I do too… Soarin have you told her about the company?” Spin said and turned to face Soarin.
“No.” Soarin said and turned to Dash.
“Well this is a good time to tell… me and Soarin have a small investment company. The idea behind it was that if ever something would happen and we could not fly and do our jobs we still would have a way of making bits. It doesn’t make huge amounts of money but it’s enough to support us if something happened.” Spin told Dash.
“ok… why are you telling me this.” Dash asked.
“I invested all of the company’s reserves to Equestrian Arms and ammo Inc.” Spin said and turned to Soarin.
“You did what?” Soarin asked him in disbelief. “You spent all of the bits on EAA stocks?”
“Yes…the Skies Brothers investments now own 55% of the EAA stocks.” Spin said proudly.
“You spent all of the company assets to buy a weapons company?” Soarin asked him.
“Yes the stocks were cheap and we both know that this war isn’t gonna be over in a week. The Equestrian armed forces will need ammo, guns, rockets, tanks, ships and everything that the EAA manufactures. The EAA profits will go through the roof in a couple of weeks. when the high command realises what kinda war we are fighting… and of course we are invading a country that is very unstable… when we can actually have soldier on the ground fighting and conquering land they have to garrison it because the Saddle Arabian will fight a guerrilla war against us… if there won’t be a huge civil war before that. Whatever happens we will be making millions and even more if this war last longer than a couple of months.” Spin said to Soarin.
“We could both set up our future families for life with that kinda money…” Soarin pondered. “But will be fighting too. So will be hoping that the war last long enough that we can make some bits but not too long?”
“The best case scenario is that the royal army doesn’t try invading again and this conflict turns in to an arms race… then no one has to die and we’ll be making money like it would be dirt.” Spin said confidently.
“Anyway what was your news to me?” Spin quickly asked Dash.
“Well… in ten months you will be an uncle.” Dash said cheerfully and Spin hugged her.
“Oh god in so proud of you two.” He said and whipped off tears of joy.
“Just please make sure you and Soarin came back safe.” Dash said and let go of Spin.
“I promise to look after him… Soarin I’m really proud to see that you will be a dad soon.” Spin said and hugged his brother. “Thanks.” Soarin replied.
“By the way… I overheard some things that the wonderbolts might be split in two. one group will go to the EQS Skywalker and the other will join me and my guys on the EQS Dawnbreaker. make sure that you get assigned to the right group.” Spin said and walked towards the carrier’s entrance way and waved at Soarin and Dash.
“See you Dash in a couple of months and Soarin I expect to see you in a couple of days.” He yelled at them and waved.
“Yeah be safe.” Two of the yelled back and saw him walk inside the ship.
”I guess you’ll be going after him tomorrow.” Dash said and looked as the EQS Dawnbreaker started to sail towards the horizon.
“Yeah… but that’s tomorrow and we still have tonight.” Soarin said and grabbed Dash’s hoof. “So I say we go home and make this evening one we don’t forget. he said and smiled.
“I guess… let’s go.” Dash said and the two stated flying towards Cloudsdale.
“They walked into their home and stated kissing each other right away. Soarin picked Dash up and while kissing her. he carried her to the master bedroom and threw her to the bed.
“Well someone is excited.” Dash said and gave Soarin a seductive smile.
“Well we aren’t gonna be doing this again for a while.” Soarin said and jumped on to the bed and kept kissing Dash’s neck.
“We don’t even know yet if you get deployed… the wonderbolts only called you back to fly with them.” Dash said as Soarin slowly moved to look at her eyes.
“Let’s hope I won’t have to go… but Spin knows his stuff. If I get deployed promise me that you’ll be fine.” Soarin said and looked at Dash’s magenta eyes.
“I’m gonna be fine. If you brother is right about the Equestrian arms and ammo starting to make huge money because of the war. we’ll be set for life. And the foal won’t come out in months… just make sure you’ll be back before I give birth.” Dash said and looked at his emerald eyes.
“I will be back here in no time.” Soarin said and rubbed her belly. “After this war is over we’ll be raising our foal and living the rest of our lives without worries.” He said and kissed her with care.
“On the mean time thou…” Dash said and giggled…
Sun rose as the two of them opened their eyes and looked at each other. Dash was lying on top of Soarin’s chest and could hear him breath and she could hear his heart beat. She wanted to just listen to them as long as possible… She knew she might not hear them in a long time.
“Dashie… I love you.” Soarin said and brought his arms around her body.
“I know you do… I love you too.” She said and kissed his chest. First night that they had spent in their new home had been everything they could have wished for.
“You should get to the HQ.” Dash said and stood up.
“Yeah… I’m conna come back and tell you if I get deployed before I leave.” Soarin said and walked to the bathroom. They knew that the future isn’t going to be easy. But it will be worth it at the end.
Soarin arrived to the wonderbolt HQ and walked to the administrative wing of the building. He took a deep breath and walked in to an office.
“Welcome back Soarin… how’s life.” Spitfire said and smiled from behind her desk.
“It’s been great… I proposed to Dash and in 9-ish months I will be a father.” Soarin said and sat down on the chair in front of the desk.
“That’s awesome. I’m so glad for you guys. but…” Spitfire said but Soarin cut her off.
“I’m getting deployed… right?” Soarin said and looked at the ground.
“Yes… you will be deployed to the EQS Dawnbreaker. you will lead a squad of wonderbolts that will be based on the carrier. I’m sorry Soarin I know you don’t want to go…” Spitfire said and looked at the ground too.
“It’s ok I know what I have to do. Who’s going with me?”
“The Streak twins and Fleetfoot. The deployment will last for three months.” Spitfire said and looked at Soarin. “You guys will leave at 1800 hours and you should arrive at the carrier which is at the moment fifty miles from the coast of Saddle arabia at 2200 hours. Once there you will be placed under the command of captain Flat spin… talking about him how is he?” Said as she was giving Soarin his mission files.
“He is fine… you know him.”
“You know that this war isn’t gonna be over in a week like the high command thinks.”
“I know… and Dashie knows too. I promised to meet her before I would leave. could you tell the others that we will leave from the HQ’s airfield at 1800 hours so tell them to meet me there at 1730 hours.”
“Ok I’ll inform them… and Soarin be safe there… earlier today I was informed that we had lost the first flyers… shot down while flying a recon mission. Your brother knows what to do so listen to him.” Spitfire told her best friend.
“I will. see you in three months.”
“Yeah… see you in three months.”
Soarin took flight and flew back to his house that was a couple of kilometres away from the HQ. he landed to the door and opened it. He saw Dash making some food as he walked in.
“I decided to make you some diner before you have to leave.” Dash said and smiled at him lovingly.
“Thanks… it’s a three month deployment at the Dawnbreaker… I will be leading a squad of wonderbolts there.” Soarin said as they started to eat their food.
“That’s great… Spin is there also.” Dash said.
“Yeah… I guess he now has to keep my ass safe as well as his own.” Soarin said and they laught.
“I’m gonna miss you so hard.” Dash said as they finished their dinner.
“Me too. but don’t worry I’m gonna come back. and our little investment will keep you financially well.” Soarin said and hugged his fiancée.
“I know that I’m gonna be fine and you will come back… just make sure that you come back in one piece and not in a casket.” Dash said as she hugged him back.
“Don’t worry. I will come back to see the birth of our foal.” He said and kissed her forehead.
“I know you will… because if you don’t I will try to kill you again.” She said and they chuckled.
“I’m sorry I gotta go. I love you Dash and I will write you when I get to the carrier.” Soarin said and pulled away from the hug.
“I love you too and I will write you back.” Dash said and gave him a kiss and then they walked to the front door.
“Three months and I will be back.”
“I know… Soarin make sure that you think of me before you go to sleep.”
“I will… goodbye Rainbow Dash… I love you.” Soarin said and gave her a kiss and stated fly away. Dash only could watch as he went over the horizon as the sun stated to set.
Soarin Flew through Cloudsdale and landed to the airstrip that was located next to the wonderbolt HQ. He could see three ponies on the ground.
“Soarin. It’s good to see you again.” White Stallion with an orange mane said.
“Yeah it’s good to see you too Fire Streak.” Soarin said and walked towards them.
“So you are now in command of our little squad.” Blue Stallion with a yellow mane said and walked up.
“Yes and we’ll be flying to the Dwanbreaker. It’s gonna be the carrier were we’ll fly our missions from.” Soarin said to them.
“So how was your little holiday?” turquoise mare with a white mane said and walked right up to Soarin's face and looked into his eyes and gave a seductive smile...
“It was fine… thank you for asking Fleetfoot.” Soarin said to her and backed off. “We’ll fly to the Dawnbreaker and report to Captain Spin who you should listen to. He knows his stuff and is an experienced military flyer. Just don’t annoy him and don’t say anything you wouldn’t say to Spitfire.” Soarin said and looked at the three of them
“Sir yes Sir.” Three of them said in unison.
“You don’t need to do that around me… but do it a lot when your near Spin.” Soarin said and chuckled. “Come on guys let’s get flying. do you guys got your saddle packs and everything you need with you.” Soarin said and checked his Saddle back.
“Yeah let’s go already.” Fire said and prepared to take off.
“Hold on a sec Fire. Has anyone landed on carrier before? no… great. Just be careful and do what the instructions say on the wonderbolt manual.” Soarin said and took off.
Four of them flew up high and made an diamond formation and turned to east towards the sea and Saddle arabia.
After a several hours of flying they could see four ships in the horizon. three smaller onces and one huge carrier.
“The dawnbreaker… ok everypony get ready to land. remember what you have been thought. it’s not easy to land on a moving carrier.” Soarin said to his squad mates.
Soon all four of them were on final approach and landed successfully on the carrier. There were ponies everywhere. Some of them were maintenance crew or they were helping flyers to prepare for take-off from the deck. There were to take off positions whit acceleration catapults which could accelerate ponies to their max speed in a blink of an eye.
“Soarin! how was the flight.” Soarin heard Spin’s voice coming from near the side of the runway.
“Hey it’s great to see you. it was fine.” Soarin said and walked up to him with rest of the ‘bolts.
“Are these greenhorns your squad?” Spin said and hugged Soarin.
“Yeah. This is captain Spin. Spin... She’s Fleetfoot, He’s Fire and he’s Lighting.” Soarin said and pointed at his squad.
“Well… you guys will be sleeping in deck five in room 448. On the door it reads “7th naval aviation squad Swordfish”. trust me you wont miss the door.” Spin said and looked at the wonderbolts.
“What if squad seven need to use the beds and sleep?” Fire asked.
“Trust me they won't... they got new beds on the 10th deck in the morgue.” Spin said.
“You mean…” Lightning started but Spin cut him off
“Shot down and killed in action… they were flying a recon mission and the Saddle Arabian flak caught them by surprise.” Spin said and looked at the ground.
“The Saddle Arabians got fewer flyers and their equipment is older but they got a lot more men on the ground and they have a lot of air defence set up. The flak is brutal and unforgiving.” Spin said and looked at Soarin.
“Soarin you will be sleeping with me in deck four in the officer’s quarters. we’re shearing a room.” Spin said and looked at Soarin. “Your squad starts doing patrols with my squad. We get started tomorrow night. we have been assigned the night patrols. So make sure you are ready to meet me in mission debrief at 2200 hours at room 500 in the second deck.” Spin finished.
“So will do the patrols with your squad.” Soarin asked.
“Yeah. Follow me.” Spin said and walked towards some stair that lead down to the inside of the ship. They arrived at deck five and walked up to a door that red “1st naval aviation squad. Wardog.” Spin opened a door and the bolts saw three beds and some storage chest on the end of them. also in the room was a couch and a flat screen TV. There were three ponies siting on the couch facing away from the door and watching wrestling.
“Oh yes that’s my boy beat his ass.” Said a dark grey stallion with a black mane.
“Oh come on. what is this he can’t win again.” A purple mare with a greenish mane said.
“Oh here it comes… STYLES CLASH ONE… TWO… FUCK he kicked out.” Dark blue stallion with a really dark blue mane Yelled.
*Couch *couch Spin made a few fake couchs and walked towards them.
“Oh hi boss wanna join us.” The dark blue stallion asked but didn’t turn to him.
“Maybe later Blade... so save me a couple beers. but I brought some fresh meat with me.” All three of them peaked their ears and turned around to look at the ‘bolts.
“Why did you brought some show ponies here?” Blade said while looking the ‘bolts.
“They are assigned to fly with us on the patrols.” Spin said while looking at Blade.
“What do you think Turpster? Two weeks?” Blade asked the grey stallion.
“One and a half… what about you Nimble?” He asked the purple mare.
“I dunno about the rest of them… but hot stuff over there might just make it.” Nimble said and gave Soarin a seductive gaze.
“You know he’s married Nimble.” Spin said and looked at the purple mare.
“Yeah… but how would she found out if I would have a little fun with her wondeColt.
“Oh I dunno… same way she found out what Thunderlane did.” Spin said and looked at Nimble who’s ears peaked up and turned to face spin and said.
“Well… when you put it that way…” She said and turned back to face the TV.
“Well this is my squad. The blue stallion over on the left is Blade. he is our hoof to hoof combat specialist. Next to him is our horny mare in constant heat. Nimble Feather. she’s our dog fighting and sneaking expert. And on the right side is Turbulence he’s our weapons and explosives expert.” Spin said and pointed at his squad.
“So this is our squad… I must say I wasn’t quite expecting this…” Soarin said and looked at Spin.
“Well they aren’t here because they are hardened soldiers. They are here because they are the best in the world when shit hits the fan. But when we aren’t in combat…” Spin was explaining but Blade cut him off.
“ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT ONE… TWO… THREE. YES GUESS WHOS DRINKING THE RAW EGG AND TROTKA COMBO HAHAHAHA.” Blade yelled and pointed at Nimble.
“How does he always pick the right guys… I bet he knows someone who is in the creative team of PWE.” Nimble said and looked depressed. “And how did I manage to book the whole card wrong for fuck sakes.”
“As I was saying… when we aren’t in combat we are your average ponies who just relax and watch Pony Wrestling Entertainment…” Spin said and he was cut off again by sounds of vomiting.
“BHLEEAAHGLAAGHEE” Nimbus was vomiting her raw egg and trotka shot into a bucket.
“HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH” Blade was laughing hard.
“FUCK YOU BLADE” Nimble yelled as she was vomiting.
“And as I was saying… we are rather relaxed when we aren’t in a deadly situation.” Spin said and looked at Turbulence. “What… I came second. I booked two matches right. so I don’t have to drink that poison.” Turbulence said and looked at Spin.
Soarin and the rest of the wonderbolts just looked at each other and thought what have they gotten themselves into…
”So… The room for my guys is where?” Soarin asked Spin who was laughing at Nimble who was still vomiting.
“Six doors that way. Soarin. your coming with me so I can show you to our room.” Soin said and walked out of the Wardog squads room.
“Ok guys you heard him. get settled and sleep well.” Soarin said and the three other wonderbolts started walking towards their room.
“So everything good with Dash?” Spin asked as they walked to their room.
“Yeah… she is worried about me but I have to do this.” Soarin said and Spin opened a door to a small room that had a writing desk two closets and a bunk bed.
“Bottom bunk is mine.” Spin said and laid down. “I suggest you get some sleep now that we can.”
“Yeah I will I just gotta write Dash first.” Soarin said and sat down to the desk to write a letter.

Today I arrived at the Dawnbreaker with The streak twins and Fleetfoot. You wouldn’t believe how huge this ship is. Anyway I finally met Spin’s squad and that surely was an experience… Spin and his guys are quite something… I’m sure I will get to know them better when time moves on. I’m sheering a room with Spin and he’s actually sleeping right now as I’m writing to you… I already miss you. your magenta eyes and rainbow mane… gosh I love you so much. And by the way don’t worry me and my squad is doing petrals with Spin squad. so I don’t think there is any real danger… I will be back home in no time. please Dash write me back. I’m in the EQS Dawnbreaker room 201. just please write me… I want to know what you are thinking and how are things going… Anyway I have to go to sleep now just know that I love you Dash.

Soarin finished the letter and walked to his bed above Spin’s. He thought about the mare that was waiting him at home before closing his eyes and falling asleep.
“Hey Soarin it’s time to wake up and stand up.” Spin said and soon Soarin opened his eyes and got down from his top bunk.
“Hey Spin… where do I throw the off going mail?”
“Just give it to me. The mail ponies will take it back to the main land. Sunshine avenue 13… already writing to her?”
“Yeah…” Soarin said.
“Well… suit up and let’s get going we got a squad meeting in 30 minutes.” Spin said and stated to put on his flight suit. it wasn’t clean rubber like the wonderbolt uniform. but instead it was heavy armour patted tan flight suit. it had clearly seen better days and it was full of holes and cuts.
“Good morning Wardog and greenhorns.” Spin said as he walked in to the meeting room with Soarin.
“Well what’s the order for today?” Blade said and looked at Spin.
“Today will be flying to the town of Gallopshyki. it’s a small town right here fifty kilometres from the coast. Our orders are to fly there and drop some bombs on the weather factory there. The plan is to bomb all enemy weather factories so that they cannot slow us down with storms and rain.” Spin said and pointed at the map that was laying on the table.
“What equipment are we taking up with us?” Nimble asked.
“The greenhorns will all take the 50.cal machine guns loaded with tracer ammo for air targets and the standard air to air missiles. the wonderbolts will be flying air cover for us four. Me, Nimble and Blade will take the 20.mm cannons loaded with armour piercing ammo for ground targets and some air to ground missiles. And Turbulence will take the 100kg magic fortress buster bomb. three of us will take you any possible ground units and Turpster will take care of the weather factory.” Spin told to them.
“We'll take off within an hour so get ready. I don’t expect there to be any Saddle Arabian flyers but the flak is going to be deadly. Dismissed.” Spin said and walked off the room. soon the Wardog squadron followed him and the wonderbolts were left in the room.
“So Soarin… we will follow his commands?” Fire asked Soarin.
“Yes. we’ll be flying air cover for them.” Soarin said to him.
“Ok… I guess we should go and pick up the missiles and machine guns.” Lighting said.
“Yeah let’s go.” Soarin said and started to walk towards the ships armoury. They soon got their gear and walked up to the deck where Wardog squadron was waiting.
“Ok you guys ready to go?” Spin asked the ‘bolts and they nodded back.
“Good you will take off in pairs Fleetfoot you are going up with Nimble, Fire your pair is Blade and Turps is going with Lightning. Spin told them. “Soarin you are flying with me and we are up first.”
“Ok…” Soarin said and him and Spin walked up to the acceleration catapults. The deck crew tied their hoofs to the catapult and the catapult launched them off the deck quckly. Soarin had never before done this and the quick acceleration was a surprise but he got control of his flight quickly and flew up to Spin.
“Well that went better than I expected.” Spin said and chuckled as they flew in a large oval around the carrier waiting for the rest of the wanderbolts and Wardog members to get airborne. once they were all airborne and flying in an arrow formation Spin said to them.
“OK. follow me and remember what is your job. Greenhorns you are flying air supremacy. and Turps you’re blowing up the weather factory. rest of us will take care of possible hostiles on the ground… everything clear?” Spin asked them.
“Yes sir.” They responded in unison.
“Anyway I have to go to sleep now just know that I love you Dash.
With love your Soarin.” Dash finished reading Soarin’s letter and put it on the living room table.
“Oh Soarin…” Dash said to herself and looked around the house that they had just bought. She had made it look more like a home than just a house. But she knew that the house wouldn’t feel like a home if there wouldn’t be memories in it. She took the letter and put a picture frame around it and put it on the library room’s wall. The library was mostly empty. two of the walls were taken up by bookshelfs and one by the huge windows. there was also a couch and a small table in the room. Dash put the framed letter to the wall opposite of the windows and looked at it. She took some paper and a pen and started writing…

Soarin thank you for writing me it meant a lot. I have made the house look more like a home for us. I hope that you will be back to see it in no time. I’m gonna pick up Scootaloo tomorrow and show her new room to her. This house is gonna be soon filled with good memories. Soarin. I have been thinking a lot about you… I’m worried… I know that you brother will protect you but still. “Yesterday we had our first combat mission. We had to blow up a weather factory in some small town off the coast of Saddle arabia. Me and the ‘bolts were flying air cover while Spin and the Wardog squad did the dirty work. Spin says that this war will be boring for a while… or at least until we can actually do a successful invasion and get the royal army to Saddle arabia. Dash… I have seen what war does to these ponies… The Saddle Arabians are suffering… Some of the squads that fly ground strike missions don’t care about what is between them and their target… I know that I have had only one mission so far but still… some of the stories that go around the Dawnbreaker are… something else. I miss you so much and I hope I will see you soon. tell Scoots that I can’t wait until I can see her again.

Soarin finished writing his letter and put it into his wing and left his room. He needed to find Spin so he could send this letter to Dash. But as Soarin was walking around the ship he saw Fleetfoot.
“Hey Soarin.” Fleet said and smiled at him.
“What’s up Fleet?” Soarin said and stopped in front of her.
“Nothing much… you know I have been kinda lonely.” Fleet said and looked at Soarin.
“Umm… but the twins are living in the same room.” Soarin said and lifted and eye brow
“Yeah… but I’m lonely during nights… and I know that you are too.” She said seductively and walked right up to Soarin and touched his chest. “You know you can trust me… I wound tell anypony.” She said as she was face to face with Soarin almost kissing him. “We both know that hoofs are nothing compared to the real thing.” Fleetfoot said and licked her lips seductively and moved her hoof behind Soarin’s neck and stared to push it towards her. Soarin was in shock… why would Fleetfoot all the sudden become so horny.
“SOARIN I NEED SOME HELP!” Spin yelled from the other end of the hall way. Fleet looked at him which gave Soarin enough time to escape her grasp and walk up to Spin. Two of them quickly stated walking away from Fleetfoot who was just looking at them.
“Thanks for saving my ass. I owe you big time.” Soarin said to Spin once they were far enough so that Fleet couldn’t hear them.
“No problem… after all I promised you fiancée to keep an eye on you.” Spin said and they walked in to the Wardog squad’s room. Blade was there on the couch watching some TV.
“Hey Blade.” Spin said to him as he and Soarin sat down to the couch.
“What’s up?” Blade asked and looked at Spin.
“Have you talked to Fleetfoot?” Spin asked.
“Nope. why are you asking?”
“No particular reason… just wondering if you had already started flirting to her.” Spin said and changed the channel.
“Ok firstly I was watching that and secondly I don’t call it flirting I call it talking.” Blade said and Smiled.
“Whatever… we are now watching the most interesting drama on TV… the latest new from Manehattan stock exchange.” Spin said and smiled.
“Since when did you dump your job and started to work for wall street?” Blade said and chuckled.
“Ok firstly I have some personal interests on the stock markets and secondly the reason we are here fighting are these greedy assholes who can’t live without oil.” Spin said and started to focus.
“Hey those greedy assholes pay very well for us to be here.” Blade said.
“Yeah we get paid well. but those guys who aren’t part of a legendary squad like ours get paid like shit.” Spin said flatly to him.
“Whatever I'm off to the gym. Nimble and Turps are there already. you gonna join us later?” Blade asked Spin as he was walking off.
“Maybe later.” Spin said to him as he walked out.
“So… how are those EAA stocks doing?” Soarin asked him. “Well I bought them when they coasted ten bits each and now…. 328.9 bits for one stock.” Spin said and looked at Soarin while smiling. “The EAA profits are up by 400%. Soarin we are rich… and more importantly someone’s special somepony is gonna be set for life and doesn’t have to stress about money even if you and I were to… you know.” Spin said.
“Talking about special someponies… could you make sure this gets to dash soon.” Soarin said and handed Spin the letter.
“Yeah of course.” He said and took the letter. “I’ll drop it at the mail office when I go to the gym… you wanna join?”
“Sure… I could use a good work out” Soarin said and they walked towards the gym.
Two of them stepped into the gym and Soarin saw the Twins doing some wing ups in the corner of the gym.
“Hey… I haven’t yet had a time to talk to you guys one on two.” Soarin said and walked up to them.
“Oh… yeah how is things back home?” Fire asked Soarin.
“It’s great Dash and I are going to get married and we are also getting a foal.” Soarin said cheerfully.
“That’s great. Everything has been awesome between me and Rarity. All thou she is worried to death about me.” Lightning said to him while smiling.
“What about you Fire? Everything ok with the farm girl?” Soarin asked Fire.
“Yeah everything is great between me and AJ.” Fire said and smiled.
“Anything else new in your life?” Lighting asked Soarin.
“Well… I kinda proposed to Dash and she said yes.” Soarin said and blushed.
“Really? That’s awesome.” Fire said. Surprised.
“Yeah… and we are having a foal.” Soarin said.
“Really… well I guess you work quickly.” Lighting said.
“Well I didn’t come here to talk about my life. I came here to work out.” Soarin said and walked over to the weight bench.
“Yeah I guess we should get some work out time too.” Fire said and three of them started their work out routine.
“Where are we going Dash.” Scootaloo said while she was on Dash’s back as they were flying through Cloudsdale.
“I’m taking you to our new home.” Dash said as she landed on the huge front yard of the house.
“Is this our new place… It’s awesome!” Scootaloo yelled in excitement and hopped down from Dash’s back and ran inside.
“Dash! This place is huge.” Scootaloo said.
“Yeah I know. Your room is upstairs. first one on the right.” Dash said and watched as Scootaloo was ruining in excitement through the house. She knew that this house would be a home for her, Soarin, Scootaloo and for the foal… speaking of which she had to tell the news to Scoots.
“Scootaloo come here I have something to tell you.” Dash said and Scootaloo walked up to her. Not knowing why she wanted to talk to her… ”Umm… Scootaloo” Dash said and looked at the existed little filly.
“Yeah what is it Dash?” Scoots asked her.
“Well firstly Soarin proposed to me.” Dash said and blushed and show off her diamond ring she was wearing in her hoof.
“Really? That’s awesome.” Scootaloo said and looked at the ring.
“And also… Me and Soarin are gonna get a foal. In eight months.” Dash said and smiled st her.
“really? I’m getting a sister?” Scootaloo said and hugged Dash.
“Yeah… once Soarin comes back from the war we are gonna have our wedding. and I need some one to be a flower girl… are you up to the task Scoots?” Dash asked her and smiled.
“Yeah it’s gonna be the most awesome wedding ever.” Scootaloo yelled in excitement.
The war had been raging on for couple of weeks now. Soarin had been alone most of the time he wasn’t in combat. He was still trying to avoid Fleetfoot. Because every time she saw Soarin she had given him a dirty look. He had no idea what had gone into her… but it wasn’t important right now. Only thing that mattered was this new mission. Soarin had mostly only done regular patrols and recon missions but this was his first infiltration mission.
He, Spin and Nimble were flying through the night sky towards a factory of some sorts. It looked abandoned and according to intelligence it was supposed to be abandoned. still they had brought submachine guns with them. This was supposed to be a black operation meaning that this was one of those missions that never happened. Soarin looked to his right and saw that Spin and Nimble had put their masks on. All three of them were wearing black spec ops suits that made sure that they could not be identified if they were seen. Their submachine guns were silenced and this was supposed to be a silent take down.
The mission orders were simple. Get inside the possible chemical weapons factory and make your way to the laboratory and get all if any possible information that they could find and then blow the whole thing up.
“Ok let’s do this.” Spin said as they landed near the factory. “We are gonna do this just like we planned silent and fast.” Spin said and loaded his submachine gun and took the safety off. Soarin and Nimble followed his lead. Three of them entered the factory and saw a huge production line and some scientists and armed guards around it. They we making some kinds of bombs and what seemed like chemicals.
“Chemical weapons… Seems like the intel was somewhat right.” Nimble said and looked at the two stallions.
“It also said that there wasn’t supposed to be any guards.” Soarin said and looked back at her.
“It just makes this a bit more complicated… follow me and don’t get spotted. we need to find the head laboratory where they are making these chemicals and get the intel and blow this shit hole up.” Spin said and they started to sneak through the factory. There weren’t many guard but there were enough of them to make sure that if they would be spotted they wouldn’t be making it out alive.
“This way I thinks it’s that door.” Nimble said and opened a boor which was at the end of a corridor.
They walked in and saw a scientist reading some kind of report. he didn’t see them come in which gave Spin enough time to walk behind him and grab his head and turn it so much that a quiet snap was heard and then the scientist fell down to the floor.
“I see you still like to do things the old way.” Nimble said and stepped over the dead scientist who was wearing a white lab coat.
“Old ways don’t fail.” Spin said and walked up to the large table. Soarin took a look around the room and saw white boards full of chemical formulas that he didn’t understand… c6h12o6 what the hell was that supposed to mean? Then his eyes landed on a huge map of Equestria.
“Why would they need a map of Equestria on a lab?” Soarin asked Spin who was reading the same report that the scientist was reading before his neck snapped.
“I think I know… Chanterlot, Manehattan, Cloudsdale, Whinnyapolis, Trottingham, Las pegasus, Hoofton, Fillydelphia, Baltimere and Ponyville… they are planning to set off some dirty bombs in Equestrian territory…” Spin said in shock.
“What? They can’t… we have been pushing them back and we are almost in their capital… we are winning this war so why would they use dirty bombs in Equestria instead of the front line?” Nimble asked him.
“They know that they have already lost this war… they don’t have anything to lose… I guess the pony who has nothing to lose is the most dangerous pony.” Spin said in disbelief. “It say her that they have already got 200 dirty bombs ready to go… and to attack all the cities they need another 200.” Spin said and looked at the report.
“Well where are these bombs… let’s find them and blow them up.” Soarin said. “I dunno… This only say how many they got…” Spin said and flipped through the report. “Ok we need to set up the charges and blow this thing up.” Spin said and opened his saddle back and picked up some plastic explosives and put then all around the room. Soarin and Nimble did the same.
“Ok let’s get going before someone comes here.” Spin said and was about to walk back to the door when it opened and two soldiers walked in.
“What the… who are you!” The soldier yelled at them. “Alarm intruders!” the other soldier yelled put then Nimble picked up her submachine gun and sprayed them both full of lead. All the sudden alarms want off.
“Ok plan B… Shoot everything that moves and run.” Spin said and picked up his submachine gun and walked out of the room spraying down two other soldiers that were coming towards them. Soarin picked up his submachine gun and followed him out of the room.
“Ok let’s go this way.” Spin said and pointed at the way they came in. Soarin saw two soldiers behind Spin and he shot both of them. “Nimble! fly out of here through the ventilation system and get us some back up.” Spin said to her since she was really nimble and could fly through it.
“What about you guys?” She asked back. “We are gonna try to fight out of here but we need back up. Just go fast.” Spin said and Nimble flew to the ventilation system and went in.
Soarin and Spin were shooting ponies left and right slowly making their way out of the factory but then Spin’s magazine ran out of bullets and he begin to reload his gun. but a soldier jumped at him from behind a corner and stabbed his back hoof with a knife.
“ARRRGGHH! YOU FUCK!” Spin yelled and kicked the pony to the face and pulled the knife out of his leg and ran over the pony who stabbed him. The soldier quickly tackled Spin and with a strike to his back he broke his wings. Spin rolled away from him and took out his own knife and ran towards him again. This time he planted his knife to the Saddle Arabians neck and made a large cut. The soldier quickly fainted from pain and stopped breathing.
“Fucking shit… Soarin!” Spin yelled as he looked at his back hoof which was bleeding quite a bit. also he could feel the pain coming from his wing that he couldn’t move.
“Spin are you all right?” Soarin asked him and sprayed down three soldiers.
“No… I can’t put any pressure on my hoof and I can’t move my wings.” Spin said and tried to pick up his submachine gun.
“I’m gonna carry you out… come on let’s go.” Soarin said and Spin got up to his back and picked up a gun so that he could shoot too.
Two of them made their way out of the factory and once they were outside Spin gave Soarin a remote.
“The big red button.” Spin simply said to him and laid down to the ground. Soarin pressed the button and heard a huge explosion. the whole factory went up in flames.
“Ok let’s get back to the Dawnbreaker before I lose too much blood.” Spin said and hopped on Soarin’s back. But before they could take off they could see several squadrons of flyers from the Dawnbreaker coming toward them.
“I see that you made it out.” Blade said and landed next to Soarin and Spin
“Yeah… It wasn’t easy but we made it. Blade go and give this to the general. it’s a report about the factory that we just blew up… but on the mean time Soarin if you could take me to the medical ward I would be thankful.” Spin said and Soarin flew up.
“Sure thing.” Soarin said and they started flying back to the Dawnbreaker.
”Goddamn broken wings.” Spin mumbled as doctors put a cast around his wings.
“Ok… that should do it. Now we will send you home to recover. No flying for two weeks and be careful with your back hoof.” Doctor said.
“Great… fucking brilliant.” Spin said angrily. “Blade! You are in command while I’m away.”
“Yes sir.” Blade simply answered.
“So… you are going back to home?” Soarin Asked while he walked next to him.
“It seems to be so… I know what you will ask me to do… and yes I will tell her that you are fine and doing great.” Spin said.
“Thanks.” Soarin said and they hugged each other.
“Keep your ass safe.” Spin said and smiled.
“Of course… after all the best soldier thought me how.” Soarin said and smiled.
“Captain Spin… your transport is ready.” A pony said as he walked in.
“Great… Soarin I’ll see you soon.” Spin said and walked off.
“Dash? are you alright.” Scootaloo asked Dash who had been in the bathroom puking.
“Yeah just feeling a bit ill.” Dash said to her while vomiting again.
*KNOCK KNOCK* They heard as someone bashed the door.
“Don’t worry I got it.” Scootaloo said and ran to the door.
She opened it and a saw Spin. “Spinny your back!” She said and tears of joy started to flow as she hugged Spin.
“Woah Scoots… take it easy or else I might get broken even more.” Spin said and hugged the little filly.
“Where is Soarin? Is he ok?” Scoots asked and broke off the hug.
“He is ok and on the Dawnbreaker… I just got hurt and sent home for a while.” Spin said and showed his wings to Scootaloo.
“Oh… Dash is in the bathroom.” Scootaloo said and walked back in.
“Spin? Oh my god your back.” Dash said as she walked out of the bathroom.
“Yeah… got my wings broken and probably would have gotten it even worse if Soarin hadn’t made sure that I got out.” Spin said to her.
“Is he ok.”
“He is fine. but I’m gonna be here for couple of weeks… which means when Soarin has completed his deployment I will be going back.” Spin said and smiled.
“Great. I’m Gonna be off to meet some old friends today. So I won’t be around to make any dinner.” Dash said
“let me guess… Is it your little harmony club from ponyville?” Spin said and raised and eye brow and smiled.
“Nice one jackass. No I’m meeting up with Fluttershy and Derpy. Could you look after Scootaloo so I wouldn’t have to take him to Twi.” Dash said to him.
“Sure why not I haven’t got anything other to do.” Spin said and jumped on to the living room couch.
“Well you two have fun. see you.” Dash said and waved a hoof.
“BYE!” Scootaloo yelled and walked over to Spin who was lying on his back and looking at the sealing.
“So what are we gonna do?” Scootaloo asked him.
“I know what we will do.” Spin said and smiled.
“What?” Scootaloo said in excitement.
“Nap for a couple of hours.” Spin said and turned his back to Scootaloo.
“NO WE AREN’T!” Scootaloo yelled right in to his ear.
“Fine! What do you wanna do?” Spin said in annoyed tone and rubbing his ears.
“I dunno.” Scootaloo said and smiled.
*sigh
“What?” Scootaloo asked him.
“Ok this is what we are gonna do.” Spin said and picked Scootaloo to his back and walked out of the house. “It’s Sunday right?” Spin asked Scootaloo.
“Yeah? What about it?” Scootaloo said as they walked to the road and stated walking towards downtown Cloudsdale.
“You know what happens today at the southern edge of Cloudsdale?” Spin asked her.
“No… I haven’t ever been there.” Scootaloo said to him.
“Really? Soarin nor Dash never have took you there?”
“No…”
“That’s weird…” Spin said and wondered.
“What is over there. I mean if both Soarin and Dash are going there it’s gonna be something awesome.” Scootaloo said in excitement.
“I dunno about Dash but I think she has been there a couple of times… after all every Pegasus that want to feel the rush of speed, danger and adrenaline have gone there at least once.” Spin said as they were walking.
“What is it? Is it something completely awesome?” Scootaloo asked. she was getting more and more hyped every time Spin talked.
“You know what Scoots… it’s a beautiful day for some racing.” Spin said and looked at the clears sky.
“You mean we are gonna go and see a race?”
“Not A race… we are going to see THE race.” Spin said.
“What do you mean?”
“We are going to go and watch the Cloudsdale 500. the most prestigious race in stock jet pack racing.” Spin said.
“OH MY GOSH!” Scootaloo said.
They got in to their seats in a huge grandstand. There were more than hundred thousand ponies in it overlooking a huge oval track which was angled in the corners. the track was almost three miles long and was made for huge speeds. They could see the racers on the pit lane that was in front of the grandstand. Crew members were putting the jet packs on to the Pegasus that were going to race. Meanwhile the crew members who were going to refuel and change the boosters were getting ready.
“This is so exciting.” Scootaloo said as they looked at the pit lane.
“Just wait until the green flag drops.” Spin said and watched as the ponies started to leave to pit lane and on to the track. The ponies formed behind a pace pony and got in to rows that were two ponies side by side. They went around the track slowly but when they got near the grandstand the pace pony got down to the pit lane and the front two ponies were now flying slowly towards the start-finish line.
The flag pony waved a green flag and all the ponies put their jet pack on full thrust and speed up.
“Here we go!” Spin yelled and the ground was roaring at the ponies that were flying faster than anything that Scootaloo had ever seen.
“This is aweome!” Scootaloo yelled a she watched the ponies go around the oval over 400 miles per hour.
“And that’s how me and big mac met…” Fluttershy was cut off by a loud kick that threw the front door of the house open.
“And did you see how that number 18 pony pushed the number 88 to the wall which made him crash!” Scootaloo said. She was still pumped up about the race.
“Yea. I was actually there with you. you know?” Spin said and chuckled. the he looked in to the library and tea room. he saw Dash and fluttershy glancing at him. Also there was third pony sitting in the room but she wasn’t facing him.
“Dash! Spin took me to the Cloudsdale international superspeedway to see the 500!” Scootaloo said in excitement and ran up to Dash who was sitting in a chair.
“You took her to the 500?” Dash looked at Spin angrily.
“Yeah what’s so wrong about that?” Spin asked her.
“Don’t you realise what have you done?” Dash said to him
“No…?” Spin said in a guessing tone.
“OK… Then you can take care of this.” Dash said and glanced at Scootaloo.
“So Scoots… did you have fun?” Dash said and smiled at her.
“DID I? OF COURSE IT WAS AWESOME!” She yelled so loud that even thou Spin was standing over at the door to the room he still tried to protect his ears. Fluttershy looked just terrified but Spin didn’t still see the other pony in the room.
“Dash… I think I want to become a great flyer… just like those ponies back at the track... just like Spin, Soarin and you.” Scootaloo said and Dash could see Sparkles in her eyes. Dash could only smile as all the different colours of rainbow appeared around Scootaloo and she slowly lifted to the air. The light around her was so bright that the ponies in the room had to put their hoofs to their faces…
”What in the name of Celestia just happened?” Spin said and rubbed his eyes.
The light that Scootaloo was emitting was so bright it felt like it just blinded them.
“What do you think?” Dash said mockingly and walked over to Scootaloo who was laying on the ground. She was still glowing and emitting pops of magic.
“You ok Scoots?” Dash asked her as she got up.
“Yeah… what happened?” She asked.
“Well maybe you should take a good look at your flank.” Dash said and smiled.
“OH MY GOSH! MY CUTIE MARK!” Scootaloo yelled in excitement as she looked at her cutie mark. It was a lightning bolt just like on Soarin’s and Spin’s flank but instead of white wings or silver swords on both sides of it there were rainbow coloured wings on both sides of it. The cutie mark was glowing as Scootaloo looked at it in awe. “It’s so cool…” Scootaloo said. her eyes were huge and they reflected the cutie mark.
“oh my… that’s an awesome cutie mark.” Spin said in in awe.
“Dash are you crying?” Scootaloo said and looked at Dash.
“No! it’s just liquid pride and excess happiness.” She said and hugged Scootaloo. “I knew that you would end up getting a flying cutie mark.”
“Them why didn’t you take me to the speedway earlier?” Scootaloo said and hugged Dash.
“Because it’s not about when or how you get your cutie mark… it’s about the journey to get your cutie mark. I always wanted you to try different things and explore the world.” Dash said and realised her. “Well… I guess you have got some rainbow in your cutie mark… but I see a lot of the “Skies brothers swagger” in that cutie mark.” Dash said and smiled widely.
“I guess me and Soarin are more awesome than you give us credit for.” Spin said while running his hoof through his mane and smiling.
“Yeah… but you have to admit that the rainbow really draws eyes on it.” Dash said to him back.
“I’m really happy for you Scootaloo.” Fluttershy said and walked up to Scootaloo and hugged her.
“I don’t believe we have met miss…” Spin said and walked up to Fluttershy and offered a hoof.
“Fluttershy. I have heard a lot about you mister Spin.” Fluttershy said to him and shook his hoof lightly.
“And I believe I haven’t met yo…..” Spin said and turned to see the third mare in the room. Spin was hit by her beauty… her blonde hair and grey coat… and those yellow eyes looking straight at him… almost at him… one of them at him… Spin quickly recovered from the subbed shock of her beauty and recovered by saying. “Hey! eyes up here.” Spin said and smiled. The mare let you some giggles and walked over to Spin.
“Hello. my name is Derpy. and before you ask I can’t do anything about it.” She said and giggled.
“Well I suppose I have to let you look then.” Spin said as he was trying to be flirty. Drepy giggled more and a huge smile came across her face. Spin couldn’t look away from that innocent face of hers… she was just so perfect.
“Ok that’s enough” Dash said and broke their eye contact.
Two of them turned red and looked at Dash.
“I think we should have a party. and I know the perfect place and a pony to host it.” Dash said and looked at Scootaloo.
“You mean Ponyville and Pinkie?” Scootaloo said and smiled as Dash nodded. “Sweetie belle and Apple bloom are gonna freak out once they see this thing.” Scootaloo said and smiled.
“Spin… I’m sorry but…” Dash started but he cyt her off.
“I know… not supposed to fly. you guys have fun. I’ll stay here.” He said and smiled at Dash. Then he turned around to face Derpy.
“Now… um… if you would… you know…” Spin tried to get the words to come out.
“I’d love to have dinner with you sometime.” Derpy said and giggled at Spin who turned red again. “Tomorrow at six?”
“Yeah of course I’ll pick yo… could you come here and pick me up.” Spin said and scratched the back of his head.
“Sure thing.” Derpy said and hugged him which made him blush like hell. Then Dash, Scootaloo, Fluttershy and Derpy left the house.
“Soarin… I know exactly how you feel about Dash.” Spin said to himself and looked out of the window to get another look at Derpy who was flying away…
“Why are we here?” Sweetie belle asked Dash and pinkie.
“Yeah why did we have to come to the Sugar cube corner?” Apple bloom asked as they sat in a table.
“Well… why don’t I let Scoots to tell you.” Dash said as Scootaloo walked in.
“Hey girls.” Scootaloo said and smiled.
“Hey Scoots.” They said in unison and smiled back. “How have you been.” Apple bloom asked her.
“I’ve been great. The house is awesome and today Spin took me to see the Cloudsdale 500.” Scootaloo said and walked over to them. “And also this thing appeared.” Scoots said and show her flank.
“OH MY GOSH! THAT’S A CUTIE MARK!” Apple bloom and Sweetie belle screamed in excitement and hugge Scootaloo.
“That’s awesome Scoots.” Sweetie belle said.
“It’s so cool looking.” Apple bloom said while looking at the cutie mark.
“Thanks.” Scootaloo said and saw Dash walk over to her.
“I’m gonna let the three of you have some fun alone and go see twilight. I’m gonna come and pick you up in an hour.” Dash told to Scootaloo.
“Ok have fun.” Scootaloo said and waved at her as she walked out.
“Twi? are you here?” Dash said and walked in.
“Yeah? Dash? How have you been?” Twilight asked her.
“Oh I have been great. Scootaloo just got her cutie mark and life in Cloudsdale is awesome.” Dash smiled at her.
“What about Soarin? is he still on the carrier? How about the foal?” Twilight asked her again.
“Slow down… Soarin is fine. his brother got hurt and is now here for a while. also the foal is still ok. seven-ish months to go anymore.” Dash said and smiled.
“that’s great. come on we have so much to talk about.” Twi said as the two of them walked over to the tea room and sat down.
“So how are the other girls?” Dash asked.
“Well you know Rarity is worried to death about Lighting streak and Applejack is stressed about Fire streak. But I’m sure they and Soarin are gonna be ok. And also did Fluttershy tell you about Big Mac?” Twi asked Dash.
“Yeah. She told me that they have started to date each other. What about you twi? Any pony in your life as plus one?” Dash asked and smiled wildly.
“Umm… remember that guard from The crystal empire?” Twi said and blushed.
“Yeah Brad… no wait Flash… right?” Dash raised an eyebrow.
“Flash and I have been dating for some time… But the war has caused a lot of trouble in The empire. The border is closed and Flash has been deployed into the northern Saddle Arabia to fight… But this war is almost over. The final attack on to the capital of Saddle arabia should start any day now. Maybe the generals were right and this war will be over in a month.” Twi tried to stay optimistic.
“Yeah I sure hope that this all will be over soon as the armed forces capture the capital. and Soarin will come home.” Dash said optimisticly.
“I heard that the house you bought is quite the mansion.” Twilight said to Dash. “That had to cost a small fortune.”
“Yeah it did… Soarin paid most of it and besides now money is not a problem thanks to Spin’s small investment on to the arms industry.” Dash told her.
“Oh… so he is the new owner of the Equestrian arms and ammo… explains a lot of things.” Twilight said.
“What do you mean?” Dash asked and raised an eyebrow.
“Well he has used his influence to lobby for new military investments… The defense ministry has already bought three battleships and tens of smaller war ships… also a lot of tanks and small arms have been bought from EAA.” Twi said and raised eyebrow.
“What are you implying?” Dash said.
“I’m saying that Captain Spin is lobbying for new military investments so that he could get the profits from these deals. He is profiting off the war.” Twi said bluntly and raised her head like and Chanterlot aristocrat.
“So what? maybe he is lobbying for more military spending and we are profiting off it. But only reason why we are in a war is that Celestia and those greedy ponies at Wall street. They can’t live without the Saddle Arabian oil profits and they forced us into this war that has costed thousands of lives!” Dash angrily said to Twilight .
“Oh… it's Celestias fault to get the oil what we need. But it’s not your fault for selling the ammo and guns that are used to kill!” Twilight yelled back at her.
“There is enough oil in Appleloosa for all of Equestria but not enough for the oil companies that are owned by the aristocrats and Celestia!” Dash said and jumped out of her seat.
“Hey! Running a welfare state isn’t cheap!” Twi yelled at her as she was leaving.
“Oh yeah… but not even half of the oil profits are being used for the welfare and education in this country. All most all of it goes to run all the damn castles that the royalty needs!” Dash said and left the room.
Fire and Lighting Streak were eating in the Dawnbreaker's mess hall. It was late and there was only couple of other ponies there.
“So… what’s up.” Lighting asked him and took a bite out of his sandwich.
“I dunno… this war… I’m just tired of it.” Fire said and looked down.
“Yeah… me too. I wanna go back to Rarity.” Lighting said with a sad voice.
“I haven’t seen Applejack for a month now… I miss her.” Fire said and a tear went down his cheek.
“What’s up!” Blade said cheerfully and sat down next to them with Turbulence. He looked at the twins and saw the sadness in their eyes. The twins looked at him and didn’t say anything. They were thinking about their special someponies…
“Don’t tell me that you guys are now getting soft.” Turbulence asked them.
“I just miss her so much.” Fire said while looking down.
“Marefriend? Wife? or a foal?” Blade asked him.
“Marefriend.” Both of the twins said in unison.
“Who is it?” Blade asked.
“Rarity… she so lovely. Her white fur and purple mane are so beautiful… and don’t get me started on her eyes.” Lighting said as his thought wondered to Rarity.
“How did you meet?” Turbulence said as he started to eat his sandwich.
“We met in a night club a couple of months ago. but after that we went out for a date… I took her to the finest restaurant in Canterlot. It wasn’t cheap but she’s worth every bit” Lighting said while thinking about Rarity.
“What about you fire?” Blade asked and turned to him.
“I met her in the same club… we didn’t go for fancy date in Canterlot. We just slept under an apple tree and watched the sunset…” Fire said as his thought wondered off to Applejack.
“You know why me and Trupster have survived here for six years?” Blade asked and the twins looked at him.
“We don’t have marefriends… we don’t have anything to go back to. There is nothing that could distract us in a fight.” Blade said with some sadness to his words. “It’s not easy life but it’s something.”
“So you guys have never had marefriends.” Lighting asked.
“I used to date this one mare in squad three… but one day she didn’t come back from a mission… only thing we found were her flight goggles and a burned out picture of us together.” Blade said and tears started to form in his eyes.
“I used to have one too… but she decided to leave me during one deployment. I don’t blame her. the deployments are long and she was always alone… I guess a marefriend and military life just don’t go together.” Turbulence said. “I guess so… but once the Saddle Arabian capital falls we are going home.” Fire said optimisticly.
“I don't know about that… firstly our troops are still like 50 kilometers away from the capital and even when Saddle Arabia surrenders we need to rebuild our country. But I think will be fighting insurgents and loyalist after the war. We have managed to destabilize the whole damn country with this war… luckily things are better in Equestria.” Blade said.
“So Fleet how have you been doing.” Nimble asked as they walked out of the mares locker room.
“I’m fine… just really lonely.” Fleet said with sadness.
“Yeah… welcome to military life.” Nimble said as they walked up to the Wardog squad’s barracks.
“Back in the Wonderbolts company was never hard to get but here… I just don’t know how long I can take this.” Fleet said and sat down.
Spin decided to take Scootaloo to the speedway today… and she got her cutie mark. She can’t wait until you come home and see it. I’m so proud of her and what awaits her in the future. also I think your brother just got hit by love… I know that doesn’t sound like him but he’s going out tomorrow with one of my oldest friends. Also me and Twi had an argument today. I haven’t talked about this to Spin yet but I will at some point. Anyway the war seems to be almost over… I can’t wait to see you again. “Oh Dashie the feeling is both ways.” Soarin said to himself and put the letter to the writing desk and put the light off and started to sleep.
“Spin!” Scootaloo yelled as she was running through the massive house trying to find the stallion.
“What’s up champ.” Spin said while he was struggling with his tie that was part of the officer’s uniform.
“Can I come with you guys?” Scootaloo said and buzzed over to him. She was still struggling with flying but was slowly getting better.
“Scoots… it’s a date between me and Derpy. Sorry. and beside I don’t think you would like eating in a fancy restaurant anyways.” Spin said and picked up a dark blue officer jacket and put it on top of his light blue shirt.
“Fine… why are you going out with Derpy anyways?” Scootaloo asked.
“You will understand some day.” Spin said and the walked downstairs to the living room.
“Oh look at you. Are you going to prom today.” Dash said while laughing. She was lying there on the couch and looking at tv.
“Yeah very funny Dash.” Spin said and sat down next to her. “How’s the little colt?” Spin aske and looked at Dash’s slightly larger belly.
“We don’t even know if it’s a colt or a filly.” Dash said to him
*KNOCK *KNOCK
“I got this!” Scootaloo yelled and buzzed to the door. Dash and Spin chuckled a bit at Scootaloo’s enthusiasm.
“One day she will be a great flyer.” Dash said.
“Yeah one day…” Spin said but he was cut off by Scootaloo’s loud yell.
“SPIN DERPY IS HERE!”
Spin walked up to the door and looked at Derpy. She wearing a blue dress.
“You look amazing…” Spin said while looking at her.
“You don’t look bad either.” She said innocently and giggled
“Oh come on get a room you two.” Scootaloo said from behind Spin.
“I think we should get going.” Spin said and smiled at Derpy.
“Yeah let’s go.” Derpy said and the two of them left.
“Dash? why does Spin like Derpy so much.” Scootaloo asked Dash as she walked in to the living room.
“Well… sometimes ponies that are very similar for example me and Soarin fall in love because we like the same things and we do them together. But sometimes two very different ponies fall in love because the other one has features that the other one doesn’t have but then the other one has something that the other one doesn’t have either.” Dash tried to explain to Scootaloo.
“I think that the reason why Derpy likes Spin is because Spin is breve war hero. he can make sure that Derpy is safe at all times. And I think Spin likes Derpy because of her innocence. being a soldier means that you have to kill or be killed. Maybe Spin sees that he isn’t innocent and has done some things that he isn’t proud of so that’s why he would like to be with Derpy. because of her innocence.” Dash said to Scootaloo.
“Ok… but Derpy’s eyes don’t seem to bother Spin at all.” Scooatloo said. “Not that that’s a bad thing but usually it’s the thing that always draws every ones eye’s in.”
“When you are in love things like that doesn’t matter. it is what’s inside that counts.” Dash said to Scootaloo and hugged her.
“So what do you do as a job?” Derpy asked Spin as they were eating their food in a fancy Cloudsdale restaurant.
“Well I’m a captain in the air force.” He said.
“Oh like a wonderbolt… just like Soarin.”
“No… I work as a flyer for the 1st naval aviation squadron wardog… we are an elite combat squadron.”
“So you were fighting in Saddle arabia then?”
“Yeah… until I got my wings broken. I’m supposed to be here for a couple of weeks before going back there to fight.” Spin explained and then asked her. “What about you?”
“I’m a post-delivery pony in ponyville.”
“Ok what do you like?”
“Muffins and life in general.” She said cheerfully and smiled. She was so positive and optimistic all the time… she was perfect.
Spin opened his eyes and saw the sun shine coming into the room from the window and hit a grey mare snuggled up against his chest. He wrapped his arms around the mare and closed his eyes and thought to himself. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” Derpy said and giggled
“What? how? did I say it out loud?” Spin said to her.
“No I just guessed that you were thinking about saying it.” She said and hugged him back and giggled more. Spin just kissed her forehead and looked at the door which had opened. he didn’t see anypony there but when he looked to his right to look out of the window again he saw Scootaloo.
“Hi!” She said cheerfully.
“AAAHHH!” Spin yelled and jumped out of the bed. Derpy was still hugging him when he landed back on the bed.
“Never do that again Scoots.” Spin said and looked angrily at Scootaloo.
“Sorry. Dash told me to wake you guys up and get down for breakfast.” Scootaloo said and buzzed out of the room.
“Well I think we should get some breakfast.” Derpy said and got out of the bed. Spin followed her down stairs and they walked to the dinner room where Dash had made some breakfast.
“Good morning. had a fun night?” Dash asked them while smiling.
“Yeah whatever.” Spin said and took a piece of bread and eat it. “Where did Scoots go?”
“She’s watching tv in the living room. the first practice session for Canterlot 500 is on.” Dash said to him.
“The race is next weekend… I might have to get some tickets and we should go and see it.” Spin said to Dash and looked at Derpy who was eating a muffin.
“Where did you get that?” Spin asked her while wondering where she got that.
“Muffin button. want one?” She said and gave Spin another muffin.
“What the… guess what. I’m not gonna even try.” Spin said and started eating the muffin but then they heard Scootaloo’s loud yell coming from the linvingroom.
”WHAT?!” Dash and Spin yelled in surprise and rushed in to the living room. Derpy followed them shortly.
“Breaking news from Saddle Arabia. The Equestrian armed forces have captured Manephis which is the capital of Saddle Arabia. The Saddle Arabian military have surrendered and the war is officially over.” The news presenter told viewers as pictures and videos of equestrian soldiers were shown. “This picture was taken today at 9.00 am and it shows the 1st naval aviation squad and the Wonderbolt detachment raising the Equestrian flag over the Saddle Arabian parliament building.” The picture of Soarin and the rest of the members were shown. Dash and Spin just watched Soarin and the rest of the squad members had their masks on so no one could figure out who they were but Dash and Spin knew.
“It’s over…” Dash said.
“I can’t believe it… they surrendered.” Spin could remember the dirty bombs that the Saddle Arabians were building. But it seemed like they were all destroyed since they didn’t use them.
“So Soarin is coming home now?” Scootaloo asked.
“Yeah… for now at least… but I think will be deployed again. Saddle Arabian is destabilized and a perfect place for crime and terrorism to grow.” Spin told her.
“Do you think that Soarin will come home Dash?” Scootaloo asked her.
“I think he might come home for a moment… but not for long. Spin is right.” Dash answered to her.
“The remaining forces of Saddle Arabia have either surrendered or ran towards he eastern parts of the country. Some military experts say that we will be soon fighting another war in Saddle Arabia. Some say it will be a civil war. Some say it will be a guerrilla war against insurgents. Whatever the case will be the war in Saddle Arabia is not even close to over. And now we will continue our planned programming.” The presenter said and jet racing come on to the screen.
“I…. I don’t know what to say.” Dash was wordless. “Well I will pull some strings so we could have Soarin here soon as possible.” Spin said and walked out of the room. leaving Dash and Derpy to just look at each other.
“Are you okay Dash?” Derpy asked.
“Yeah… just a bit shocked… I never thought that I would see Soarin in TV raising the Equestrian flag…” Dash said and tears of joy and sadness flowed down to her cheeks.
“I’m sure Spin will get him here.” Derpy said and hugged Dash.
“Yeah I know he will.” Dash said and stopped crying.
The next day dawned and Spin was up before sun rise. He checked that Dash was still asleep and then walked out of the front door and sat down on the lawn. He just sat there and looked at the sun that was slowly raising.
“Well you are up early.” He heard a familiar voice coming from behind him.
“Yeah… it’s a new sun rise and it brings a new kinda war with it.” Spin said in a serious tone and looked at the sun. “She’s sleeping in the master bedroom… if I were you I would go there before she wakes up.”
“Yeah… thanks.” The voice said and Spin heard his hoof steps slowly coming further away as he looked at the sun which was now above the horizon. “Maybe war does change and ponies don’t?” Spin said and wondered by himself.
Sun hit Dash’s face and she opened her eyes. She could feel someone’s warm body next to her back. She didn’t turn to face him and only said.
“Is this a dream?”
“No… or at least I hope this isn’t one of my dreams.” The pony said and brought his hoofs around her body and started to kiss her neck.
“Soarin… I have missed you so much.”
“I know Dashie… I love you.”
“I love you too.” Dash said and turned to see Soarin Face. It was just like she remembered it only with a couple of more scars than before. She kissed and looked at his emerald eyes.
“How long are you going to be here with me?” Dash asked him.
“I have to report to Spitfire in a week. but I’m not going to get deployed again.” Soarin said with happiness. “Spin pulled some strings for me and my squad… I’m gonna go back to flying as a Wonderbolt.”
“That’s great.” Dash said and hugged him and snuggled against his chest. The stayed like that for a while until Soarin saw that the door had been opened. He didn’t see anyone in the room so he turned to look out of the window and saw Scootaloo next to him.
“Hi!” She said cheerfully which made Soarin jump up in surprise.
“Never do that again Scoots.” Soarin said to her.
“Sorry. Spin told me to tell you to come down stairs for some breakfast.” Scootaloo said and buzzed off. Soarin didn’t notice her cutie mark and Dash didn’t bring it up.
“Well come on let’s go.” Dash said and walked out.
“Spin!” Scootaloo yelled and looked at him.
“What’s up Scoots.” Spin said and looked at her while eating oatmeal.
“Did you know that Soarin is back. He was sleeping with Dash.” Scootaloo said with a happy tone.
“Yeah… I know.” Spin said and walked up to Scootaloo and ruffled her mane.
“Hey!” Scootaloo said which made Spin chuckle.
“I see two of you are having fun.” Dash said as she walked in with Soarin.
Dash and Soarin both took some oatmeal they started to eat.
“So Scoots I heard something happened to you?” Soarin said and raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah! Look.” Scootaloo said cheerfully and showed her cutie mark. “It’s just like Spin’s or yours but the lighting is flanked by rainbow wings instead of regular wings or swords.”
“That’s great Scoots.” Soarin said and gave the filly a hug. Dash only could watch as she was the happy expression on Scootaloo’s face.
“So I decided that since we are all here we should go and do something as a family…” Spin said but he was cut off by loud knocks coming from the front door.
“I got it!” Scootaloo yelled in excitement and buzzed towards the door which made all three of the grownups chuckle.
“She such a sweet kid.” Soarin said and looked at Dash.
“Yeah and once this thing comes out we are gonna have two sweet kids.” Dash said and rubbed her slightly bigger belly. “Six-ish months and the day hits.” She said and kissed Soarin.
“Spin!” Scootaloo yelled and Buzzed back in to the dinner room.
“What?” Spin asked and watched as the filly landed in front of him.
“Derpy came here.” She said and pointed at Derpy who was walking towards him. He could see the smile on her face and her lovely eyes… Soarin saw how Spin was looking at Derpy and could only smile.
“Hi!” Derpy said and hugged Spin.
“Hi!” Spin just said back and smiled widely as they were looking each other in the eyes.
“You were saying something about us doing something?” Dash said and two of them broke their eye contact.
“Yeah… I got all of us tickets for the Canterlot 500.” Spin said and looked at Scootaloo who had a huge smile on.
“Really? I can’t wait.” Scootaloo said and jumped up and down.
“We’ll be going tomorrow to Canterlot.” Spin said to them.
It was a warm summer day. The sun was shining and the warm summer wing was blowing. Soarin, Dash, Scootaloo, Spin and Derpy were walking through Canterlot. There were Equestrian flags and victory banners everywhere. They slowly made their way to the Canterlotte Speedway which hosted the Canterlot 500. As they made their way up to their seat in the grandstand they could see a huge Equestrian flag on the field in front of the pit lane.
“Mares and gentlestallions. To honour our victory and fallen soldiers please stand up for a silent moment.” Voice came over the loud speakers that were stationed around the speedway. Every pony stood up in silence until the voice said.
“And please remain standing for the Equestrian national anthem presented by the royal music brigade from Canterlot castle.”
“United and strong our home land of Equestria, Land so beautiful and free from harm, Glorious our purple flag, Glorious our princess,”
All ponies stood up and sang along the lyrics.
“Long live the Empire, Long live the princess, Long live the Empire so united and free.”
Spin and Soarin both saw some security personnel run through the crowd as they were singing.
“Night and day ruled by two sisters, We follow them through dark and light, May they rule over our beloved land, may them rule over us, With them on our side Equestria shall prevail,”
The anthem went on as the Equestrian flag was raised high, but both Soarin and Spin saw now more security personnel and government agents run through the crowd. They both looked at each other with worried expressions.
“O'h Equestria’s skies, And emerald plains, Where freedom and justice prevail With courage and strength, We'll fight to the end, For liberty in our land."
And as the final note of the national anthem was sung a huge explosion happened in the other end of the grandstand. The flames that came from the explosion went really high and the shock wave blew everypony off their seat. Soarin quickly grapped Dash and Scootaloo and Spin took Derpy and they tried to protect them from the shrapnel that was flying in the air.
Soarin could hear the screams of ponies and saw many running away from the speedway. The he looked at Dash who had a cut in her head that was spilling blood. It wasn't a big cut but it didn't look good either. Then he looked at Scootaloo who was trying to get to her hoofs. He stood up and felt pain in his back but he didn’t care. He grabbed Dash and helped her on to her hoofs and them looked back at Spin. But he couldn’t see him.
Spin opened his eyes and saw Derpy laying below him. He quickly got up to his hoofs and was about to pick Derpy up and fly away but then he remembered his wings. The Shock wave had thrown him and Derpy off the grandstand and in to the field next to it.
“Derpy are you ok?” He asked as Derpy opened her eyes.
“Yeah…” Derpy said and got up to her hoofs.
“We need to find Derpy and Spin and get out of here. Soarin said.
“Yeah.” Dash quickly said back.
“Umm… what’s that?” Scootaloo said and pointed at the place that the explosion happened. There was a lot of yellow mist spilling out of the place that the bomb exploded.
“Mustard gas… We need to find them quickly!” Soarin said and picked up Scootaloo to his abck and three of them flew up.
“I See them.” Dash said and pointed at the two ponies who were getting up to their hoofs.
“Spin! We need to get out of here quickly.” Soarin said and laned next to him.
“What happened?” Spin asked him. “We both saw those ponies before that explosion… right?”
“Yeah but we need to get out of here now!” Soarin said. “There is a lot of yellow mist coming this way.”
“What! You mean mustard gas?” Spin said in disbelief and looked back at the grandstand which was covered in gas.
“Yeah so let’s go. Dash you take Scoots I’ll carry his sorry ass.” Soarin said and handed Scootaloo to Dash and picked Spin up to his back and they flew away just as the Canterlot’s emergency services arrived with the Canterlot guard’s division.
Five of them flew away and saw the Canterlot’s guard’s division’s soldiers starting to evacuate the area as ponies with gas mask and special suits made their way into the middle of the mist. As they continued to fly towards Cloudsdale they took a look at the Canterlot castle. The front yard of it was all so covered in gas and there was a huge crater in the middle of the court yard.
As they got in to their home Soarin and Spin both rushed into the living room and turned on the TV.
“We have confirmed attacks in the following cities. Cloudsdale, Fillydelphia, Vhinnyapolis, Trottingham, Manehattan, Las Pegasus and our nation’s capital Canterlot and more. We don’t yet know the origin of these explosions or who is behind it. but we know that after the explosion there was chloride gas also know as mustard gas in the air. I recommend that you stay inside until the situation has been resolved.” The new presenter said.
Spin turned around to face Soarin and saw a huge piece of shrapnel sticking out of his back.
“Ok Derpy get that cut in Dash’s forehead fixed. Scootaloo bring me two towels and Soarin stay here.” Spin said and gave out orders.
“Here are the towels.” Scootaloo said and gave Spin two towels.
“Thanks. Soarin bite on that.” Spin said and gave Soarin one of the towels.
“Why?” Soarin asked him.
“There is a small piece of shrapnel in your back. we need to get it out.” Spin said looked at the huge metal piece.
“If you say so…” Soarin said and put the towel to his mouth.
“On three. one… two…” And Spin pulled the piece of metal out of his back.
“ARGGHH! You said on three!” Soarin yelled in pain as blood started to flow out of his back. Spin quickly put the other towel on the cut and it stopped the bleeding.
“Did i? oh sorry about that.” Spin said and chuckled.
“Not fun asshole.” Soarin said as Spin was holding the towel to his back. “Thanks…”
“It was my pleasure.” Spin said and smiled.
“Let’s get that cut cleaned.” Derpy said and started to clean Dash’s wound.
“Gosh… what the hell is happening?”
“I dunno but I bet that the two of them know.” Derpy said and cleaned Dash forehead.
“I dunno about you but I have a bad feeling about this.” Dash said as Derpy finished.
Derpy and Dash walked back in to the living room and saw Spin cleaning Soarin wound as he was gritting his teeth in pain.
“So what the hell is happening?” Dash asked and walked up to Spin.
“The Saddle Arabian insurgency… they must have planted the bombs.” Soarin said.
“And how do you know it?” Dash asked.
“Me and Soarin did an attack on a chemical weapons factory and found out their plans and blew the factory sky high.” Spin said. “I think in a minute or two we are gonna have some visitors.”
*KNOCK *KNOCK
“Scootaloo could you open the door?” Dash asked Scootaloo who was still scared.
“No.” She answered and walked next to Dash.
“I’ll get it.” Derpy said and went to the door while Dash picked up Scootaloo and hugged her.
“Captain Spin. Commander Soarin.” a pony in a military uniform said and handed Spin a letter and walked out of the house. Spin quickly opened the letter and read it through.
“I have to go. they are asking if I want to be leading a squad to assault the possible location of the insurgency.” Spin said and put the letter to a table.
“You don’t have to.” Soarin said and walked up to him.
“Sorry. I do.” Spin said and hugged him.
“But you have broken wings.” Derpy said and walked up to Spin.
“I’m not gonna be flying there.” He said and gave Derpy a kiss. “Don’t worry.” Then Spin turned to Scootaloo and Dash.
“I don’t want you to go.” Scootaloo said and ran up to him and hugged him.
“Sorry Scoots. But this is a part of the job. Dash… look after them.” Spin said and walked out to the front door.
“I will.” Dash said and waved good byes.
All four of them watched as Spin left and then Dash asked.
“What are you gonna do Soarin?”
“I dunno… I have to report to Spitfire in a couple of day but I don’t think I will be sent back there.” Soarin said and looked at Dash. All four of them went back to the living room and looked at TV. The news weren’t good. Baltimare and the Crystal empire were also attacked. Soarin quickly turned off the tv and walked up to the second floor and to the bed room leaving Dash and Derpy to the living room.
“I’m gonna go and check on him. You can stay overnight at Spin’s room.” Dash said to Derpy and walked after Soarin.
She entered the master bed room and saw Soarin sitting on the end of the bed holding his head up with his hoofs.
“Are you okay Soar?” Dash said and sat down next to him.
“No…” Soarin said and dropped a few tears. “Spin is off again fighting even thou his wings are still not fixed… he is gonna get himself killed some day.” Soarin said as Dash hugged him.
“He know what he is doing and can look after himself. And so what if he dies doing what he loves to do. I think that he would rather be shot in a trench than live the rest of his life as a soldier who can’t fight.” Dash said and continued to hug Soarin. “Feeling better?”
“Yeah… thanks Dashie.” Soarin said and gave her a kiss and pushed her to the bed. Soarin got on top of Dash and stated to kiss her neck and ear which sent waves of pleasure down Dash’s body.
"Soarin. I love you."
The next few days didn’t bring any good news. the death count from the bombings was between ten thousand and twenty-five thousand ponies. Soarin, Dash, Scootaloo and Derpy had gotten a letter from Spin. it only read “I will be back in a couple of days.” But then a day after a knocking could be heard. it came from the front door. Scootaloo went and opened the door like usually. She saw a stallion dressed in a uniform holding two letters and something else but she couldn’t make it out what it was.
“Umm… is your parents home?” He asked.
“Yeah. DASH! SOARIN!” She yelled back into the house and they quickly ran over to her.
“What’s wrong Scootal… Blade? what are you doning here?” Soarin said and smiled a bit. After all Blade was a friend to him. the time they spent in Saddle arabia together made them quite close.
“Good day Soarin. I assume this is the mare you always talked about?” Blade asked and looked at Dash.
“Yeah. so you wanna come in?” Soarin said happily.
“No thanks Soarin… I’m sorry to inform you that your brother has gone missing in action and is presumed to be dead.” Blade said and gave a tri folded equestrian flag to Soarin.
“What… no… no... his not.” Soarin said and tears started to run down his face.
“I’m sorry… this is an official letter to you from the high command… and this is something he wanted me to give you guys.” Blade said and handed two letters to Soarin who was in shock. Dash only saw Soarin face that was full of tears. She herself was starting to tear up but she had to be the strong one for once.
“I’m so sorry Soarin.” Blade said hugged him and left.
"What’s happening?" Derpy said while she and Scootaloo walked to the frondoor from the living room and was Soarin crying and Dash trying to hold back tears. Then Derpy saw the folded flag in Soarin’s hoofs and realised what had happened. Tears formed in her eyes and her legs gave in…
“I’m sorry Derpy.” Dash said and walked over to her and hugged her while both of them were crying.
“What’s happening?” Scootaloo asked. She didn’t realise what had happened.
“Scootaloo go up to your room for a while.” Dash told her and she did as she had ordered her to do.
Soarin opened the official letter and it was full of the usual military bullshit. “We are sorry to inform you that you brother Captain Spin went missing during combat…” There was a list of his missions and medals. There was even a small letter from Princess Celestia thanking him for his service and sacrifice to his country.
Then Soarin opened the other letter. on the front of it read “To my family.” It was clearly written in Spin hand writing. Inside the letter was three pieces of paper one read “Soarin and Dash.” The Second one read “Scootaloo.” And the third one read. “Derpy.”he didn’t read any of them and just put them on to the table that also had the letter that Spin got a couple of days earlier. Soarin decide to pick it up and read it instead.
“Captain Spin we need you to lead a squadron of elite fighters to an enemy stronghold and destroy all the possible weapons that they have stored there whatever the cost might be. Mission is extremely risky and the change of survival is slim. You don’t have to accept this assignment. but I would appreciate is you did. From high command.”
“You stupid fuck… you knew this and didn’t tell it to us… you didn’t have to go…” Soarin said as tears ran down his face. Both Dash and Derpy walked over to him and he showed the letter that Spin got a couple of days ago. Then he gave them their Letters and all of them went to different rooms to read them.
I’m so sorry… I had to do it. I’m sorry that you have to read this letter. I wanted to tell you this in person but due to the events of this coming battle I can’t tell this to you but I want you to know that I love you… I have never loved anything more than you. You are everything I’m not… you are innocent, kind, loving and caring. I hate that never got to live with you… the days we spent together were the best days of my whole life. You even made me rethink my military career… I was going to leave it and live my life with you but I can’t say now to some things. One of them being the change to protect you and Equestria… if you are reading this letter I’m dead… I don’t yet know how I’m going to die but the battle that is going to start In a couple of minutes will most likely be my last… the odds aren’t good. Please don’t cry over me. you are full of life and please enjoy every moment of it even thou I will not be there to enjoy it with you. I’m sorry… I loved you more than anything else and I will love you even in death. I’m sorry this had to end like this… I love you muffins.

“Oh Spin… I promise you that I will not cry of sadness or pain but of happiness knowing that you will always love me and you will be watching over me.” Derpy said and tears fell to the letter. She looked out of the window to see a storm start. “You have to put up with the rain to see a rainbow.” She said and cried.
To Soarin and Rainbow Dash.
I’m so happy for the two of you… The battle will start soon and… I don’t have huge expectations of survival. but I have to do it. First you Soarin. I’m so glad that I got to meet my brother after all those years in the orphanage. You and I didn’t have it easy but we both made it at the end. I’m proud of you and I will know that you are gonna be an awesome husband and a great father… too bad I’m not gonna be there in person when that happens but I will be watching. And Dash I’m so happy to see that my brother got a you as a wife. I couldn’t have asked for a better wife for my brother… and the foal. I still say it’s a colt. And if he ever asks about what happened to me please say to him that I did what I believed in. And that I didn’t die for nothing… Don’t tell him anything about me unless he asks you. I’m sorry that this had to happen but if I wouldn’t have there would have been more innocent bodies on the streets tomorrow… Soarin when I first met you I knew that you were my brother. You were my only family and I wanted to make sure that you were safe… but now you have your own family and I’m a part of it… I happy to say that I have an awesome family. Soarin make sure Scoots and Dash are always safe… I never thought that I would say this but you mean so much to me. make sure that Derpy isn’t gonna cry over me forever. And also I know that I promised Dash to watch over you Soarin… but now I will be watching over all of you. I died doing what I loved to do. I never was scared of dying for dying… I was scared of dying because I always thought that there wouldn’t be any pony to protect when I’m dead. but no I know there is so much I can do for you guys.

“Class act until the end.” Soarin said and whipped off his tears and smiled.
“Yeah… Spin was something else.” Dash said and whipped off her tears and hugged Soarin.
“Some ponies can’t be replaced… and those who can’t be replaced will be there until the end.” Soarin said and saw the storm outside. “Let’s go and tell Scoots.” Soarin said and two of them walked into Scootaloos room. She was reading some random book about flying and when Soarin and Dash walked in she dropped the book and looked at them.
“Hey why were you guys crying?” She asked.
“Well Scootaloo… Spin has gone missing in action and… he won’t be coming back.” Soarin said and saw as the little filly eyes turned it to water falls.
“You mean he is dead?” Scootaloo said while crying.
“Yes… I’m sorry Scoots I know how much you liked him.” Dash said and pulled Scootaloo in for a hug.
“Did I like him? He was like a second dad to me. not that you are a bad one Soarin.” Scootaloo said and first hugged Dash and then Soarin.
“I know he was like a dad to you. but he wanted you to have this.” Soarin said and handed the letter over to Scootaloo. “You don’t have to tell anyone about what it reads there.” Soarin as he and Dash left the room and closed the door.
To Scootaloo.
Hi champ… I guess Soarin and Dash have told you about what happened to me… I won’t go into it too much but one thing you should know and that is that I didn’t die unhappy. Anyways Scoots you were like a daughter to me. it’s kinda sad that I never got the change to have one but if I ever would have had one she wouldn’t have been even half as cool as you. I know that this is gonna be hard for you and for the others but be strong. be brave. be like me… Scootaloo you are gonna be a great flyer some day and I want you to know that it doesn’t matter where do you fly or who do you fly I will always be looking out for you and the others. The time I spent with you was awesome and I loved every minute that I spent with you. In my room there is a big chest under the bed… I have put I that chest all kinds of this that mattered to me and I want you to have everything that is inside that chest… don’t show it to anyone… for now… when a pony comes around and asks how did you get you cutie mark tell him how you got it and tell him what happened to me… show the chest to him… and tell him that I love him even thou I never got to see him. This is really important to me. but I trust that you can do it for me.

“You can trust me. and I know that you will be looking out for me.” Scootaloo said and cried loudly. She waited few moments before walking out of the room with the letter and went into Spin’s room.
She put the letter down to the bed and looked under the bed. She saw a quite a big metal case and she pulled it out. It was an old ammo case. She looked at it for a while before opening it. There weren’t any medals or honour certificates in there. No spoils of war or money only a pile of pictures of ponies.
On top of the pile was a picture that had been had drawn… it was Scootaloo’s cutie mark next to Soarin’s and Spin’s cutie marks with a text “Welcome to the Skies family, Scoot.” She dropped a few tears and then picked up the next picture…
It was Derpy and Spin together looking happy and in love.
Next one was a picture of Scootaloo and Spin. it made Scootaloo smile. this was taken when they had met for the first time. Ever since that day Spin had taken care of her.
Then a picture of Dash and Soarin came up. Both of them were happy and kissing each other. There were a quite a few pictures of Soarin and Dash together but then a picture of some military ponies came up. “Wardog, To death or to victory.” Spin was standing with a four ponies. under each one had their name on it “Blade, Turbulence, Nimble.” But the last name was scribbled out it was a under a black stallion. Scootaloo only could make out the first letters “Thund…” She knew that she had seen this pony before… but couldn’t remember.
Then the next picture was a group picture of Spin, Soarin, Dash, Derpy and Scootaloo. It read “My family.” it made Scootaloo drop a few tears before picking up the next picture.
Spin and Soarin. Both were looking a bit younger and Soarin was wearing a rookie wonderbolt uniform. It was taken when two of them had first met. Both looked extremely happy to meet each other.
There was a ton of pictures and drawings of scenery from different parts of the world. Also a lot of letter from Soarin. But then a black and white picture of two wonderbolts came up… it was Flaswind and Blizzard Strike. next to the was a foal that looked like… Soarin? and between them was a colt who looked just like Spin… “Mom and Pops… I’m sorry” That was the only thing written on to it and on the other side of the picture was a page number to Spin’s diary that was on the bottom of the chest. Scootaloo was about to read it but then she decided that that would be a story for another time. maybe she would read it later.
She put all of the things back into the chest and put the letter that she had gotten from Spin into the case too. She dragged the chest out of the room and into her room. Then she looked out of the window and saw that the storm had ended and a huge rainbow had come out…
“I see that your happy.” Scootaloo said while whipping off her tears and looked at the rainbow thinking of Spin.
It had been a couple of days since Spin’s death. Soarin and Dash had gotten a letter informing them that Spin’s remains had been found and identified. It was a rainy and dark day in the late autumn. Soarin looked at the casket.
“I guess this is it for a while… I guess I’m gonna see you when my time comes.” Soarin said and dropped a tear on to the casket. He then turned around and saw ponies walk towards him through the grave yard. Spin’s old squad, Derpy, Scootaloo, Dash and even some wonderbolts and other military officers come the grave yard despite the rain. They all gather around the coffin and the honour guard fired ten shots to the air. After the casket was lowered and buried Soarin, Dash, Derpy and Scootaloo stayed there looking at the grave stone. “Captain Spin, Brother, Uncle and a Hero.” Four of them just stood there in silence as the rain became heavier.
“This was not how I thought it would end… I always thought that I would be the one to go first.” Soarin said and turned to Dash.
“Spin was badass…” They could hear Blade’s voice come from behind them. “He knew what he was doing and if he wouldn’t have stayed behind and blown up the that weapons stash manually many more ponies would be dead.” Blade said and threw a rose next to the grave stone. “Spin did a lot of bad things in the name of good… he was a bad guy for the right reasons.” Blade said and started to walk away. “Like he used to say bad times don’t last… but bad guys do.” Blade said and smiled while looking at the heaven and walking away.
“I guess we should go too. No reason to get sick a week before our wedding.” Dash said and Soarin and Scootaloo nodded. “You coming Derpy?”
“No… i'm gonna stay here for a minute or two.” She said while trying to smile and hold back tears.
“Ok. don’t take too long dinner is in an hour.” Dash said as three of them walked away.
The rain was becoming heavier and heavier but Derpy just stood there until she picked two muffins from between her wing and her body and said.
“Muffin?” She said as tears started to run down her face. But she was smiling… she knew that Spin never said no to a free muffin… or a hug from her… or a kiss from her…
“You know what Spin… I have been thinking that after the wedding of your brother and Dash I might adopt a foal… since you had no parents I will give a home to someone that hasn’t got them either. But I will think it through after the wedding.” She said wiped off her tears and hugged the grave stone. “I love you.” She said and walked off.
”Hi… i just wanted to come and tell that the wedding is today… I really would have wanted you to be there. But we both know you will be looking.” Soarin said while standing over the grave. “Well I have to get back for the ceremony… see you later.” Soarin said and walked away from the grave of his brother. It was all most winter now. The air was cool and the wind was light. Trees were beautiful with all kinds of shades of orange and yellow.
“You ready to do this?” fire steak asked as Soarin took his place at the altar.
“Yeah.” Soarin said and saw that most of the quest were coming in. He saw all of the wonderbolts and some of his personal friends siting on the left side and on the right side were Dash’s friend and family. All the sudden he saw Princess Celestia enter the room and she started to walk over to him.
“Hello Soarin.” She said as Soarin bowed.
“I wasn’t expecting your highness to come my wedding.” Soarin said and stood up.
“Of course I will come to the wedding of the element of loyalty and a war hero.” Clestia said and was about to sit near the altar on the left side of the aisle.
“No. you can’t sit there.” Soarin quickly said. “Could you go to the second row. please.” Soarin begged.
“Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know that this seat was reserved for someone special… who is it for then.” Celestia asked and moved to the second row.
“It’s for my brother.” Soarin said.
“Cheers mate.” He said and sat down to the chair that Soarin had reserved for him
“I understand.” Celestia said and saw that Derpy was walking to her seat next to the one that had been reserved.
Derpy sat down to her front row seat and looked around. The hall was decorated with orange and yellow.
“I always wanted a wedding like this.” She said while smiling.
“I know.” he said and put his hoof to her shoulder. He couldn’t feel her fur or her body’s warmth. Only thing he could feel was the coldness that was within him. “I’m sorry I couldn’t give you this.”
The music started playing and Dash walked to the altar with her father who was trying his best to not cry. Soarin had never seen her like this…
She was wearing a with dress and she looked like a million bits. The ceremony went on until it came time to say the words that would change their lives forever. “I do.”
“I do.”
The newlywed couple danced and partied the whole evening. Every one of their friends were there. Even twilight came and she was happy for Dash’s… but they both knew that the heat between them had not gone away and they needed to talk… But not today. This is a day that should not be ruined. After the party Soarin and Dash both went outside to look at the moon.
“This day was perfect.” Dash said and kissed Soarin.
“Yeah…” Soarin sighed and looked at the moon.
“I know that you are still sad about what happened to him… but we both know that he would have wanted us to do this and move on.” Dash said and hugged Soarin.
“I know… it’s just that I always wanted him to be there instead of an empty seat.” Soarin said and dropped a tear to Dash’s shoulder.
“Yeah me too. He would be proud of you… of us.” Dash said and they kissed again.
“I’m so proud of you both.” He said and looked at them.
Soarin was looking out of the hospital window. He could see the snow on the ground and colts and fillys playing in it. Then he heard some one walk behind him.
“Hi Soarin how is Dash?” Derpy asked and walked next to him while smiling.
“She is still in there… I have no idea when we will be able to go in… or if the foal is ok.” Soarin said in a worried tone.
“I’m sure everything works out.” Derpy said and hugged him. “I went and dropped some flowers to him and told what’s happening… He would be so happy that he is finally an uncle.” Derpy said and smiled.
“And you are going to be an aunt now.” Soarin said and smiled as a doctor walked in.
“Mister Soarin? you can come in now. Everything went well and Rainbow Dash and her foals are doing fine.” The doctor said.
“FOALS?!” Soarin and Derpy yelled in surprise and ran into the room. Once they entered they saw Dash laying on a bed with two foals. one colt one filly. The filly had a mane just like her mother but instead of different colours it had only shades of blue in it and her fur was baby blue just like soarin’s but she had her mother’s eyes. The colt had a short mane that was coloured just like Dash’s and he had green eyes and his fur was just like Dash’s.
“Hi Soarin wanna come here and say hello to your daughter Horizon Dash and your son Rainbow Spectrum.” Dash said as Soarin and Derpy walked in.
“They are perfect.” Soarin said while looking at them. Once he said that Scootaloo ran in and saw her new sister and a brother.
“I have a sister and a brother!” She said in excitement.
“Umm… actually you have two brothers.” Dash said and pointed at one of the cribs that were in the room. Soarin quickly ran up to it and saw a small colt sleeping calmly. He had neon blue mane just like Soarin and his brother had. He also had neon blue eyes just like Soarin’s brother and he also had his fur… snow white. Soarin picked him up and looked at him while walking to Dash.
“Spin.” Soarin said while looking at the colt.
“Spin.” Dash said and smiled.
Soarin and Dash were Sleeping in the hospital bed together with Horizon and Spectrum. Scootaloo was sleeping next to one of the cribs. Moon light was shining into the room and it light up it nicely.
“I’m So proud of you two.” He said while looking at Dash and Soarin who were sleeping with their foals. hugging each other.
“Two beautiful foals…” He said and turned around to see Scootaloo. “I’m proud of you too Scoots… I know you will do what I asked you to do.” Then he looked into the crib and saw him. The little foal opened his eyes and look straight at him. He could feel something inside of him… he didn’t feel the coldness that he usually felt…
“Don’t act like you can see me.” He said and turned away from the foal. The foal just giggled at him. He noticed it and turned to see that the foal was pointing at him. “You don’t see or hear me…” He said and walked next to her crib. The foal’s eyes followed him the whole time. He could see that the foal was smiling at him. He started to move his hoof toward the foal and touched his mane… he felt it… he felt the heat coming off his body… the foal just giggled as he ran his hoof through his mane.
“You do see and hear me… you can feel me…” He said and picked up the colt and hugged him. The colt smiled and hugged him back.
It had been six years since the birth of Spectrum, Horizon and Spin. All three of them had stated school. Dash and Soarin were in the living room talking with Fluttershy.
“So how are the kids?” fluttershy asked.
“Horizon and Spectrum are just great. Both of them have quite big egos but they also have a soft side.” Dash told her and Smiled.
“What about Spin?” Flutterdhy asked and looked at Soarin.
“He is ok… he is just… different I guess.” Soarin said with a look of worry on his face.
“What do you mean?” Fluttershy asked.
“He likes to be alone… and when he hangs out with Spectrum and Horizon he doesn’t do it because he likes it… He does it because they like it. I’m really worried about him.” Dash said as Soarin put his arm around her shoulder.
“Well there is nothing wrong about wanting to be alone.” Flyttershy said and smiled.
“Yeah… but when he is alone he talks to himself… a lot.” dash said while worring about her child.
“What do you mean?” She asked.
“Follow me and I will show you.” Dash said and lead Soarin and Fluttershy upstairs
“Why do I have to read these books again?” Spin askes the grown up stallion.
“Because those books will tell you a lot about flying and life.” He said.
“Ok.. but you will have to teach me a new trick if I read these books.” Spin said and looked at him.
He walked up to him and sat down next to him. “Sure thing little guy.”
“Spin? Honey are you ok.” Dash asked and walked in.
“Yeah of course mom.” Spin said cheerfully.
“Who were you talking to.” Soarin asked and walked in.
“Say no one. just talking to myself.”
“No one. just talking to myself.” Spin said and smiled.
“Okay… well have fun reading.” Soarin said as they left the room.
“That was close.” Spin said. “Sir? could I ask a question?” Spin said and looked at him.
“Of course Spin.” He said and looked at him.
“Why are you helping me? Why can’t they hear or see you? And do you have any other name than Sir?” Spin said and looked at him.
“I knew you would ask that someday. Ever since you were born I have been next to you. Making sure you are safe… In your mother and fathers room. On the left wall there is a picture of a Pegasus stallion in military uniform. Take that picture to Scootaloo and give it to her and ask how she got her cutie mark.” He said and looked at Spin.
“Ok.” Spin replied and walked to the master bedroom and saw the wall. It was covered in pictures of Soarin, Dash, Scootaloo, Derpy, Horizon, Spectrum and Spin. He saw the picture of the pony in a military uniform and he picked it up. He took a good look at it and was that it was him… the one who he could see and hear. Spin walked out of the room and into Scootaloo’s. She was laying on the bed and reading and didn’t notice him enter.
“Ask her.” He said to Spin and walked next to Scootaloo. “It’s time to fulfil the promise that you made me.”
She odiously didn’t hear or see him since she continued to read.
“Sis… could I ask you something.” Spin said while holding the picture in his hoofs.
“You sure thing little bro.” Scootaloo said but didn’t look at him and just kept on reading.
“How did you get your cutie mark?” Spin said and gave her the picture. She looked at the picture and a tear started to form in her eye.
“Give her time Spin.” He said and walked away from Scootaloo and Spin.
“Spin… this is your uncle.” Scootaloo said and realised that it was her time to show him the chest that Spin had given her.
“But mom and dad said that we don’t have any uncles… only a lot of aunts.” Spin said and sat down next to her on the bed.
“They don’t speak about him… he didn’t want you, Horizon and Spectrum to learn about him until you were older.” Scootaloo said while trying to hold back tears. “He died before you were born.”
Spin turned around to see him. He slimed and watched as Spin and Scootaloo were talking about him.
“What can you tell me about him?” Spin asked his big sister.
“When I was your aged he was like another father to me… I got my cutie mark thanks to him and he taught me to fly… he was a war hero… he was so much to us.” Scootaloo said and started to cry.
“It’s ok sis… you don’t have to tell this to me if you don’t want to.” Spin said and hugged her big sister. She hugged him back and said.
“No I do need to… I promised to him.”
“How did he die?” Spin asked her.
“He sacrificed himself to save his squad and a lot of innocent ponies.” Scootaloo said.
“I did what I had to too.” He said from the door.
“He wanted you to have this.” Scootaloo said and pulled the chest out from under her bed. “It’s his box of important stuff… it’s mostly letters and pictures but there are also some other things in her like his diary… I haven’t read it but I think you should.” Scootaloo said and handed Spin some photos.
“Why is there a photo of aunt Derpy here?” Spin said and showed a photo of Derpy to her.
“Well he and Derpy were in love… I think that they still are. That’s why Derpy lives here and takes care of the three of you little guys.” Scootaloo said.
“Oh…” Spin said and looked at him again… he was starting to tear up.
“Sis… why does he look like me?” Spin asked her.
“Well I don’t know that… you do look like him a lot and well you even have his name.” Scootaloo said and whipped off her tears. “Spin… you are special just like him. Some day you will do something like he used to do. I want you to have all of this stuff.” Scootaloo said and gave him the chest.
“Thanks sis.” Spin said and hugged her. “Horizon and Spectrum are great siblings but you are my favourite.”
“Spin… you should go and meet Derpy… Show her that photo too.” He said to him from the door.
“Okay.” Spin said and looked at him.
“Excuse me? Who were you talking?” Scootaloo asked him.
“No one. thanks sis.” Spin said and ran to the next room where Derpy was.
“Aunt Derpy?” Spin said as he ran in.
“What do you need Spinny.” Derpy said and smiled as she was sitting on a couch.
“Well I was wondering if you could tell me about him.” Spin said as he sat down next to Derpy and saw that he was sitting on the other side of her.
“Oh Spin…” Derpy said and looked at the photo. “That’s your uncle and my love… I loved him so much and still do. I know that he loves me too. Sometimes it feels like he is next to me even thou he is dead.” Derpy said.
“Sometimes I’m sitting next to you my love.” He said.
“So… you love him still even thou you never see him?” Spin asked her.
“Of course… he is the one for me and I know he is waiting for me… I even go and visit his grave every Sunday and bring him some muffins.” Derpy said and whipped off her tears.
“So you will never get another stallion to be with?”
“Why try when I have mine waiting for me.” Derpy said.
“Thanks aunt Derpy. I just wanted to ask about him.” Spin said and walked out if the room.
“No problem Spin.” Derpy said as Spin walked out. “I know you are here… I can feel it again. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“So you were in love with Derpy?” Spin asked him.
“Yes… I guess grief is the price we pay for love at the end… There are still two ponies you have to talk before we will have a conversation.” He told him as they walked down stairs. “Them.” He said and pointed at Soarin and Dash who had just watched Fluttershy leave.
“Mom, Dad. Who is he.” Spin said and gave the photo to Soarin.
A huge smile grew to Soarin face as he looked at the picture. “He is your uncle… Spin.” Soarin said and walked to the living room. “I guess Scoots told you about him?”
“I asked her.” Spin said.
“Whatever she told you was all true… he was a one hell of a pony.” Dash said and laughed.
“Tell them… about what can you see and hear. Tell them about me.” He said and walked behind him.
“Can you guys promise to not tell this to any one?” Spin asked them.
“Sure thing champ. what’s on your mind.” Soarin asked.
“I can see him… I can hear him… he has been with me and given me advice on life for as long as I can remember.” Spin said. Dash and Soarin were shocked.
“You can see him?” Dash said.
“Yeah… you guys don’t belive me. you think that I’m crazy.” Spin said.
“No… is he here?” Soarin asked and looked around the room.
“Behind me.” Spin said and looked at him.
“When you were born there was some problems with your… powers.” Dash tried to explain him.
“Powers?” Spin asked.
“Princess Celestia came to see you a day after you were born and told us about a vision she had had.” Soarin said.
“You have some sort of magic inside of you… but no one knows what does it do or mean.” Dash said. “That could explain the fact that you are seeing him.”
“But just in case… ask him where did me and him meet the first time and what did we do.” Soarin said knowing that no one else but he and his brother knew.
“Trotting mare pub in Manehattan… and we got drunk and we woke up in Fillydelphia…” He said in embarrassment.
“Trotting mare pub in Manehattan and you got drunk and woke up in Fillydelphia.” Spin told Soarin.
“Well it is true then… you can see him.” Soarin said. “I guess he has something planned for you?”
“Yes indeed. Could you ask them to leave.” He said.
“Could you guys give us some room.” Spin asked and looked at Soarin and Dash.
“Sure thing Spin.” Dash said and two of them left.
“So you now know a lot about me… the reason why I have been here making sure you are doing ok is that you have a mission. You have to do what I could not.” He said and walked up to him.
“And that is?” Spin asked him.
“To save Equestria with you magic… I died before I could complete the mission so now it’s your turn.” He said.
“But I just a kid… I can’t save Equestria even if there is some magic in me. Can’t some unicorn do it instead… they too have magic.” Spin said in panic.
“Their magic can be taken from them… what you have is something they can’t give or teach you but they can’t take it out either… you have the magic of friendship in you.” He said and pointed at his heart.
“But I can’t do this alone… I’m just a small colt.” Spin said.
“You aren’t doing it alone… you are doing it with them.” He said and pointed at to young ponies that just walked in.
“Hey Spin. wanna do something together?” The colt asked
”You, Horizon and Spectrum are all children of the element of loyalty. You all have something important waiting for you in the future.” He said and looked at Spin.
“But… oh god.” Spin said and panicked.
“They will help you but at the end you will have to do it. They are both here to help you when you need them. Spin… they are your siblings… they will always have your back.” He said to Spin.
“Ok… but still?” Spin said.
“Who are you talking to Spin?” The filly with a mane that had all the blue shades in it and she also had baby blue fur said.
“No one Horizon.” Spin said to her.
“I dunno about you but I have a feeling that today is a good day to get some cutie marks. All three of you should go and do something.” He said and smiled. “I won’t be around anymore… I’m confident that you will do what is right… good bye Spin…“ He said and started to disappear.
“No you can go now! I need you more than ever!” Spin said and begged.
“Sorry Spin… you have them to help you and all three of you have something not many ponies have… undying loyalty…” He said and disappeared.
“Spin are you okay?” The bright blue colt with a rainbow mane asked.
“Yes… I think… I was thinking that maybe we should go and do something?” Spin said to Spectrum and Horizon.
“Well Scootaloo told me that when she was our age she and her friend had this club… Cutie mark crusaders!” Horizon said excitedly.
“That sound boring. you get your cutie mark when you are ready to get it.” Spectrum said as they walked next to Spin.
“Yeah whatever Spec… Anyway I was thinking that we should do something like that and go on to have some adventures together.” Horizon proudly said.
“I’m in as long as we don’t do girly stuff.” Spectrum said and pointed at his chest.
“So Spin… you in?” Horizon asked.
“Yeah sure.” He said in excitement. “So what is the name of our club?”
“I know the Totally awesome club of awesome ponies!” Spectrum said.
“No that’s sounds stupid… what about the association of Pegasus Siblings.” Horizon said and smiled.
“No that’s… no.” Spectrum said and looked annoyed. “What about you Spin any suggestions?”
“Umm... What about The knights of loyalty.” He said and remembered what he had told him.
“That’s awesome right?” Horizon said and looked at Spectrum who just nodded.
“Well let’s go!” Spectrum said and three of them ran outside while smiling and laughing.
“They are so sweet.” Dash said while looking at them.
