When technology is discovered that allows travel to different star-systems, every major country on Earth is determined to snag anything valuable in the cosmos. Jacob Cooper just wants out of it all, and he may have got his wish granted.

Jacob Cooper doesn't want to fight. He never did, but when technology is discovered that allows travel to different star systems, every major country on Earth is determined to snag anything valuable in the cosmos. The countries can't ever come to a compromise, which eventually leads to an all-out war.

America, your home country, eventually gets involved; however they won't accept defeat, and make the decision to start the draft. As luck would have it, you are selected, and are instantly deployed with an unit. When your unit is travelling to their destination, an abnormal black hole appears and shreds your ship to scrap. Fortunately for you, you wake just at the right time.

"Wait, one hundred percent," you begin to say to yourself, "this can't be right." You rest in the shade of a larger than normal tree, thinking about the events that have just transpired. Although you were not awake for most of the chaos, you remember waking up to flashing red lights and ear shattering alarms. This was a fighting class ship, after all, and the ship seemed to have been torn apart by a black hole. You were lucky enough to find a usable emergency pod and high-tail it out of there. As for the rest of your unit, you have no knowledge of their current status.

Sitting here now, you think back to how you despised fighting just for resources in space, and being forced to contribute to the war because of the draft. All of that, that is the reason you are where you are currently. Where you are, though, not even you know. This planet, or part of the planet at least, is very green, and it reminds you of Earth. As far as you know, there were no planets discovered in the cosmos that could support life very well yet, besides Earth. "So, the only explanation is that the black hole sent me to a whole other dimension," you think out loud.

After awhile of searching the nearby area, you believe you are the first intelligent life form on this planet, and judging by your oxygen supply being filled, as well as the numerous trees and bugs, you definitely conclude that this planet supports life.

You decide that staying in the same area isn't going to accomplish anything, but then again, what else can you do? There's almost zero chance that you'll be rescued; however, you can still try to survive, or better yet, you NEED to survive, you just found the first planet that supports life besides Earth. Telling others about this may be difficult, but just knowing you discovered it will have to do for now.

You have a more important task anyways, you need to survive. Unfortunately, you see no food source other than some berries on plants, but who knows if they're even edible. You do, however, see a river; if there is any other intelligent life on this planet, after all, you'd place your money that they settle down near a river.

So it's decided then, you will spend the night traveling along the river in hopes that you'll at the very least find a food source.

...

It's been about three hours now, and there hasn't been a food source in sight. You do notice that the river is starting to open up and get larger, and you hope that may hint a lake is coming up soon, as that is your best chance of find food, that is.

As these thoughts are racing through your mind, you climb up over an incline. You think you may see structures out in the far, far distance, but you think your mind is just playing tricks on you. That is, however, until you witness the most surreal thing you've ever laid eyes on. It appears to be some type of rainbow, but as far as you can tell, this is no precipitation anywhere nearby. It just appeared with a white ring around it and then disappeared after about fifteen seconds. Adding on to that, you also notice the rainbow is bending, as if it's some sort of 45 degrees angled mini rainbow. This time, you know this isn't just some trick from your mind, you know you saw this. You're also starving, you've been trying to ignore it, and it's been successful for the most part, at least until you saw that. Now you know there is some sort of life around here. You practically start drooling at the thought of a nice meal.

At that thought, you take off in that direction. The pain is nearly intolerable, but you will do anything at this point to get some food. Mid-sprint, concerns start to race through your mind, "Will they befriend me? Will they give me food? Will they even be able to communicate with me?" You stop thinking about this, as it's making you uncomfortable.

15 minutes later and you've made it to a thick forest just outside the what you can now call a small village. The brush is nearly up to your knees in a few areas of this forest, and it's thorny too. You wish there was a way around, but that could take nearly a half hour, time you just don't have. You begin through the prickly maze, crouching down at some points or climbing over high bushes. You start to get impatient, as this slow pace is taking forever, but if you go any faster, you'll probably trip up due to the extruding roots and high brush.

Your heart is beating faster than when you sprinted the first time. After making it through the thickest of the forest, you observe a dirt road straight ahead. Breathing heavily, you push yourself to the limits to make it to the road. There's a good chance it will take you straight to town.

Your suspicions are confirmed when you hop onto the road and look ahead, only to see the clear path. Whether you walk or run will make little difference at this time of the day, as it is now nearing midnight, you predict. Wait a minute, when did the sun go down, and for that matter, when did the moon come up? It was almost as if it happened instantly. You come to the conclusion that that's just how this planet's rotation and this solar system in general works.

The hunger feels like it is slowly chipping away at you, and if you don't get something soon, you will most likely collapse. You made your way to the outskirts of the town, and it's now midnight so nobody's out. You start to wonder if anyone is even living in these buildings currently, but you don't want to take any chances.

"It's odd," you whisper to yourself, "I was expecting something a bit different, but this is almost identical to some small villages back on Earth."
Before you can continue with your endless thoughts, you see something that you never thought would catch your eye. A trash bin. This trash bin is special, though, as it is near what looks to be a small cafe. You think maybe there're some left overs in there from someone's breakfast. You start to dig through it until you find... hay? What is hay doing in here? You start to dig more until you find what seems to be daisies on bread. You eat the bread, as that is something you can actually digest. There wasn't much more besides more of the same, so you decide it's time to find a place to call it a night.

You see a patch of grass nearby and figure that's the most comfortable you're going to get. You make sure to find a spot in the grass not too close to town, but also not too close to that forest, that place gives you the creeps.

You lay on your back, looking at the stars. You wonder what life is going to be like here, and how different the people here will be from your people back home. You have so many questions and so many concerns. You thought in a time like this, stranded on a planet in a different dimension, you would be terrified and overcome with sadness. But the truth is, you're not. The world back home is not any better than this, it's a war zone, and there's no reason you would ever want to go back. Your family would be the only reason, but you don't even know where they are, as they are older folks, they help the war by doing what they can back on Earth. As for brothers and sisters, you're an only child.

The thoughts continue to race through your head, one at a time, and eventually, you drift away to sleep.

.........................................................

It seems like it's only been five or six hours maximum since you fell asleep. You were hoping to pick up at least nine or ten hours. Whatever woke you up better be worth it. You stand up and slowly walk towards town. Everything seems normal, there's still no one outside, which could be considered strange, but it is still early. You notice the weather changes quite quickly, almost instantly, just how the sun and moon worked. Instead of a clear sunny day, it is now an overcast.

You look up to see what's caused this, but nothing is out of the ordinary. That is until you notice a cloud coming from the forest at least 60 miles per hour. What is going on here? Does the weather just do whatever it wants at the speed it chooses? Yes, on Earth weather is similar to this, but these clouds are just acting like their own person, the way they decide to join in a pack or leave.

You squint and try as hard as you can to see why these clouds can move like this, and you think spotted the culprit. It appears there is a light green, but rather large bird pushing it. You've never seen a bird like that, but it is to be expected of a whole new dimension.

The more you wait around watching, the more birds that show up. All of them are different colors, and very large for a bird. Their wings are also massive as well. It seems the birds are preparing to make a storm. Why would they do that? If they can control the weather, why intentionally make storms like this?

You don't even get the chance to answer that question before you notice a cyan colored bird staring right at you. It stopped dead in its tracks and let go of the cloud. You take no chances and book it back to the forest. You aren't getting killed by a candy-colored bird!

You enter the forest and turn around to look back, it appears you aren't being chased. You don't want to go back out just yet, you should give it a few minutes. As for the forest, though, it's not like it is much better. You decide to venture deeper into the forest, come on, the biggest threat here so far is a massive candy-colored bird!

When you say it like that, it sounds much more threatening...

Nevertheless, you continue your journey into the forest. It is still a pain to maneuver around, so staying out of a chase is ideal when in here.

About ten minutes into your journey, you've already covered some decent ground.

Owooooooooooo!

You can't mistake that noise. That is the howl of a wolf, no doubt. You decide that now is a great time to head back. Turning with no hesitation, you begin walking back. You stop for a brief second thinking you heard something.

It is silent for almost ten seconds before you hear the sound of footsteps. Fast. You can definitely figure there's more than just one, or two for that matter.

Unfortunately for you, you don't stand a chance in this foot race, the forest is far too difficult to get around in, but damn it you're gonna try! At least, you did try anyway, until you got stuck by a thorn your right arm, and hesitated which caused you to stumble over a root from a tree.

Darn.

You turn around to see your soon to be killers' identities.

Theses things aren't wolves at all. Well, they're in the shape of wolves, but they are made of wood?! Is this some kind of prank?

You aren't afraid in the slightest bit now, even with their growls and barking, they're made of wood. What are they gonna do, give you a little splinter?

After that thought, you get on your feet, ready to destroy these things. You approach the nearest one and attempt to kick it in the mid area, but it dodges swiftly and takes you down by your leg. These things aren't a joke after all.

After that, "little battle", the rest of the wolves joined in and start biting and clawing at you. You try your best to fight back, but it's no use, there's at least ten of them.

You come to accept this as your death. Wouldn't that be great on a grave stone if you were to have one?

Here lies Jacob Cooper:
Was attacked and killed by wooden wolves.
R.I.P.

At least you're going down with a smile on your face. As you think of this priceless joke, you nearly forget the wolves mauling you to death. So much so that you didn't even notice the cyan bird from before coming down at full speed from the sky. As it comes closer, you notice one thing. This isn't a bird at all. This is a god damn pegasus! You also guess it's a female by the slim body figure.

She eventually lands on the ground and yells something in a mean tone. Her voice sounds crackly and high pitched. You can't make out what she said, you can barely see what's going on actually, due to blood loss. You predict if she was a minute later you'd be dead.

The wolves are no longer interested in you, as there's now a fresh pegasus in the forest, a lot more appetizing than a worn out chew toy like yourself. She looks ready to fight, does she plan on taking all ten of them on?! You try to stand, but you have no strength, there's nothing you can do!

The wolves group around her in a half circle, barking and growling, saliva dripping from their mouths.

The first wolf to pounce is a smaller one, but it looks as if it can fight. It goes at her full charge preparing to spring into her, but the pegasus dodges and puts her back leg out to trip it. The wolf goes tumbling head first into a rock and shatters into twigs.

The second, third, and fourth all attack at once, from three different angles. The pegasus just waits, and at the last feasible second, she thrusts straight up, causing all three of the wolves to take each other out.

After seeing this, the rest of the wolves leave, it is obvious they stand no chance against her.

She then turns her attention towards you. Her smug smile quickly turns into a concerned expression as she hurries towards you. She waves her hoof directly in front of your face, and you assume she is asking if you are awake, but you can't make it out. If you could answer, you would. The most you can do is slightly nod your head.

After this gesture, she picks you up on her back and says something else, you can make out from the tone of her voice, she sounds determined, which right now, you are very thankful for.

She takes off into the sky with you on her back somehow, even though you double her size. She was muscular but this is extreme!
You can barely keep your eyes open as you zoom with the wind blowing past your face.

You pass out shortly but come back when the pegasus lands near a building, at this point details are impossible to read. You hope to God it is a hospital, but considering the fact you're being carried by a pegasus after being attacked by wooden wolves, who the hell knows.

She rushes you into the building, you hear her yell something, but this time, she sounds angry, as if she is yelling at someone. You hear a response this time, and are taken off of the pegasus's back and put onto what you can only assume is a stretcher.

You see the pegasus standing there, watching you being stretched away. Everything is becoming gray, and then you go out cold.

OXYGEN SUPPLY: 100%
WARNING: BLOOD LEVEL LOW

You open your heavy eyes to the sight of small amounts of sunlight creeping through a window. You slowly rotate your head to get a full view of the room. It appears you are in a hospital bed with some sort of foot rest at the end; they probably don't have any beds your size. Probably the same reason why you still have the same clothing outfit on. There is an IV in your right arm, but it is much smaller than any IV you've ever seen. You follow the line up to a blood bag and saline hanging on a stand.

As much as you know you should probably stay in the bed to get better, you also want to speak to a doctor, and it seems there is no way of doing that here.

You drag your right leg off the bed, followed by your left. Once you shift your balance onto your legs, it takes a moment to adjust. You grab the stand with the bags and head out of the room.

It is still early in the morning, so you try to be as silent as possible. Taking a look down the hall to the right, it seems to be a dead end, while on the left side, some doors down, it looks like the exit. You walk left with the intention of speaking to the receptionist, if they're still awake, about talking to a doctor. You'd also like to have a little talk with them about where the hell you are and why there are ponies and wolves made of wood!

Unfortunately, as you feared, there is no one at the desk. You could ring the bell a couple of times, but seeing as this place helped keep you alive, you'll give the benefit of having a good rest. You do find it odd, though, that a hospital doesn't have an on-duty receptionist at all times.

You make your way back to your room, figuring that you'll have to wait until later in the day to have your little chat. Anyways, it's not too big of a deal as you could always use some more sleep.

..........

You awake once again in the small hospital bed, this time with more light flooding into the room, as well as without a blood bag on the stand, but there is still saline. There's also a cyan pegasus resting quietly on a chair, with her cheek buried in her hoof and eyes closed. You recognize her as your hero, although in full color and up close, you can now make out her "unique" details. Unique is putting it lightly. For starters, she has a rainbow colored, with all six colors evenly balanced in stripes across her mane and tail. She also has magenta eyes, that almost go too well with her cyan coat. As for her body type, she is on the smaller side, but what she loses in size she makes up in muscle, you can see this even while she is id-

"Uh, hey there champ, glad to see you pulled through!" She says this with a somewhat awkward smile while trying to be as enthusiastic as possible. You can't blame her, though, as you probably look as strange to her as she does to you.

"Well, I think you had a hand in helping with that." A confused expression suddenly spreads along her face.

"A hand?"

You then hold up your right hand, as she closely examines it, as well your five fingers.

"Woah, what are those five pointy things?" Her eyes wide, she is practically hypnotized by your hand and fingers.

"Fingers. Have you really never met a human before?" You find it hard to believe you're the first human she met, considering all the other exotic creatures living here.

"So that's what you are, huh? You have a name?"

"Jacob. Jacob Cooper in full. I could give you my full title as a soldier, but that would probably just lead to more questions."

"You're a SOLDIER?! That is so cool! Have you killed anypony?" The realization hits her like a train. "Oh, you're not supposed to ask that question, are you?" She then looks down and obviously feels bad and embarrassed.

"Relax, I haven't killed anybody or any ponies for that matter. I was only there for a short time, and we left on our first mission just two days ago if I'm correct." You then ask her, "So, now that my name's out there, what's yours?" As much as you feel the need to ask her about where you are and what's going on, you want to get to know her first.

"I'm Rainbow Dash, and I'm the most awesome pony and best flier in all of Equestria!" She also seems to have the highest ego.

"With that display you put on back there against the wooden wolves, I can't argue with that."

"Those are called timberwolves, and yeah, I totally kicked their butts!" While smiling with a nearly greedy grin, she blushes out of embarrassment and says, "I mean, I was just trying to save you, they nearly killed you for pony's sake!" She does have her limits on gloating after all.

"I owe you my life for that, thank you, I will forever be in your debt." Now onto the important question, "If you don't mind telling me, where am I? As far as I knew there wasn't a single planet that could support life like this before Earth."

She looks at you with a semi-puzzled expression before stating, "This is Equestria, on the planet of Equus. And what in the hay is earth, doesn't just mean like the ground or something?"

"Earth is the planet I was born on, as for this Equus, I've never even heard of it." You then press a button on your wrist which pulls up a holographic HUD. You proceed to search for "Equus" as well as "Equestria", but in the end get no results. "As a matter of fact, Equus isn't even a registered planet. What the hell happened?"

She sits, frozen with mouth agape.

"Uhm, Rainbow, hello? Can you hear me?"

"What the buck was that? Thatstuffjustshotfromyourthingandyouwereabletolookforplanetsandstuffonitandohmycelestiathatwassocool!"

"You've never seen a watch before?" You ask this as a watch is pretty much as simple as it gets, when it comes to today's technology anyways, no matter how new the tech actually is.

"I've seen a watch you foal! That's not a normal watch!"

"I'll have to show you what it can do later, but right now, I have more important things to focus on." After saying this, she gets a slightly angry expression.

"I? You mean we, right?"

"What? No. I mean, why? You've already saved my life, why help me even more?"

"Because that's what friends do!" She is no happier after you said that.

"Friends? You consider us friends?" Instantly, you realize how bad that sounds. "Wait, that's not what I meant. I'm just trying to say, we just met, although you did save my life."

You wait for a response, but all you get is an expression as if she is waiting for you to say more.

"Why would you even want to be friends with me anyways? I'm an alien here, I'm surprised you even saved me in the first place." After this, the expression on her face goes from anger to more of a depressed or sad state.

"Wait, no. Ugh! I keep saying it wrong! I just want to know why you would even associate yourself with something like me!" You swear the room is getting warmer, as you're starting to sweat.

Before she begins, you notice an emotion go across her that looks like relief with a mix of annoyance.

"Are you kidding? Who the hay cares if you're not from around here? You look super cool and have all this cool stuff and you even took on a pack of timberwolves!" Yeah, let's just go with that. "My point is, you're an awesome, uh, human, and I WANT to help you and be your friend!"

"Seriously, you want to be my friend? If you're going to offer, then hay yeah!" Did I really just say hay yeah?

"Awesome! I can't wait to go around town and introduce you to all my friends! I just KNOW you're going to love them!"

Almost as if it was scripted, a doctor enters the room with a clipboard in hand.

"So, erm, patient, how-"

"His name is Jacob!" Well, thank you, Rainbow.

"Er, please forgive me, how are you feeling Jacob?"

"I feel much better," You reply, "speaking of, when do I get out of here?"

"Well, as we have never treated a species of your kind, we aren't exactly sure. If a pony was in your situation, it would probably be at least another two days." You let out a sigh. "But, you are not a pony, and your body appears to have healed itself much faster than that of a pony's."

"So does that mean I'm free to go?"

"Well, that is up to you. If you feel ready, then yes, by all means."

"With that, I'll be heading out then. Thank you very much for helping me."

You stand up, this time slowly and taking your time putting your weight on your legs. You take the IV out of your arm and head towards the door, Rainbow waiting.

"Come on you big foal, hurry up!"

"Easy for you to say!"

"Come on, I can't wait to introduce you to my friends!"

"Rainbow, not that I don't think I will like your friends or anything like that, but will they like me? I mean, I doubt they've ever seen or even heard of a human."

"Not like you? That's a good one! My friends like everypony, no matter what they look like!" You find that hard to believe. "Trust me, my friends are awesome and they'll be good friends with you too in no time, just like us!"

"We'll have to see about that, I'm just not convinced that all of your friends will be as accepting of me as you."

"Oh trust me, they're just like me, only a little different." As she is putting on her biggest smile, you just wonder what that even means.

......

You think you're starting to understand what Dash meant when she said that as you're speaking with Applejack. One of them is a cloud clearing pegasus, while the other one is an "apple bucking" earth pony.

You now know the most common residents in Equestria, thanks to Rainbow. She told you of the three common ponies: earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns. You still have yet to meet a unicorn.

She also tells you of a less common pony, that only Princess's are. They are called alicorns and are a mix of all three common types. There are currently four princesses in Equestria. According to Dash, one of them, Twilight, is actually her good friend.

That was on the way here to "Sweet Apple Acres" that you were informed of all this. Also on the way here, you got many odd stares, but being with Rainbow made you feel much more comfortable.

As for now, though, you're watching as Applejack kicks a tree, knocking down apples into a basket on top of her head.

You offered to help her, as you could've probably reached the apples and picked them yourself, but Applejack immediately declined your offer, saying 'It just ain't how we do things round here!'

After finishing her current round of labor, she approached you without any fear, as if you were just a normal pony.

"Howdy pardner! What can ah do for ya? And if ya don't mind me asking, what in Equestria are ya?"

"Hey, I'm Jacob. As for what I am, I'm a human."

"Human huh? Never heard of it, but nice to meet ya! Any friend of Dash is a friend of mine, besides that Gilda folk, she was just plain trouble."

Dash cuts in quickly, "AJ! I told you, we aren't friends anymore!" A mild blush forms on her face.

"Gilda? You never told me about her. Another one of your pony friends?"

"No! I said we aren't friends, and she's a griffon!"

"A griffon? Aren't they dangerous?" You actually get a slight shiver up your spine, just hearing that griffons roam here.

"I guess if she wanted to, she could be dangerous. But Gilda isn't bad like that, she's just a bit of a trouble maker." Applejack shoots her a glare. "And hey, if she attacked me, she couldn't do anything to me! I'm too quick!" And out comes her ego.

You both decide now is a good time to head out, onto meet her next friend, after saying bye to Applejack.

"So, Dash, where are we going next?"

"Well, the closest place to hear is either Rarity or Pinkie Pie. I say we go to Rarity's first, we'll be stuck at Pinkie's forevvveeeeerrrrrr."

"Doesn't matter to me, if all of your friends are similar to Applejack, this'll be a piece of cake!"

...

You arrive at a boutique, and out of instinct you look at what's on display through the window, disappointed when they have no human clothing, even though you knew they wouldn't.

Dash knocks on the door, and after a short moment, the door opens with a light blue aura around it. You then see the unicorn, who you presume is Rarity, with her horn surrounded by an aura the same color as the door.

"Hello, Rainbow Dash an- OH MY CELESTIA! WHAT IS THAT?!" Rainbow is obviously disgruntled by Rarity's freakout.

"THAT THING is my friend, and his name is Jacob! He's a human and he's new here!" Both sides go quiet as Dash slowly moves from anger to embarrassment.

"Erm, I apologize if you took offense to my insulting comments, I was just shocked by your, er, height is all." She is obviously jittery still after her friend's meltdown. "I suppose I could take your measurements, seeing as your, uh, current 'clothing' is a bit worse for wear anyways."

"Don't sweat it! Seriously, everything is fine, that is a completely normal reaction to seeing a new species. For your offer, I will have to decline, as this suit is alright. I'm sure it'll make it another month or so." You aren't even lying, these suits are very well made and are perfect for a situation like this.

"Oh, well if that's the case, then I will return to my work. It was great to meet you, erm, Jacob!" She then slams the door to avoid Dash's fury for forgetting your name.

"The nerve of some ponies!" Dash exclaims.

"Nothing to go crazy over if you ask me, she just forgot my name."

"But she should've remembered it! She remember's everypony else's names except-" You cut her off and stop walking in the middle of the road.

"Rainbow, what's going on? I might not have known you for that long, but I know that nobody, or pony for that matter, acts like this just for simply forgetting a name or being shocked by a whole new species." You look at her with a confused and slightly angered face.

"It's- It's nothing. I just wanted all my friends to become friends with you too, and it's not going as awesome as I wanted it to." She puts on a forced small smile and cracks a small laugh.

You can't help but feel bad for her, she was just trying to make you feel at home, but-

Home. Speaking of home, where are you going to stay? You'd rather avoid sleeping back by the forest as you did the first night, but if that's the only option then so be it.

"So uh, Rainbow, not to change the topic or anything," you start, "but where do you recommend I sleep tonight? Are there any good inns or anything like that?"

Her face changes from slightly depressed to shock in an instant.

"Oh buck! I didn't even think about that, some friend I am." Why is she doing this to herself? Just beating herself and others up over such simple things. "Well, you could ask if Applejack will let you stay in her barn, but that probably won't be very comfortable. I would let you crash at my place, but you can't walk on clouds unless- that's it!"

She exclaims, a huge smile on her face.

"Twilight has this pendant or amulet thingy that can let you walk on clouds!"

"Walk on clouds? That's ludicrous! And how do we know it would even work for me? I'm not a pony!"

"It's our best option right now unless you want to sleep on the grass by the forest again!" A mischevious smile takes form.

"Well if that's how it's going to be then I guess we will have to try."

"I guess so." Her smile still strong.

As you are following Rainbow through town to Twilight's place, your mind is running one hundred miles per hour.
Walking on clouds? That's insane! Well to be fair, I did travel to another galaxy or possibly dimension, so cloud walking isn't that far fetched after all! And if this cloud-walking stuff comes in a bottle, when I get back home I'll be set!

After a short laugh, you start to remember home, and how long it seems since you've been there. As much as you would love to say you could live here forever and become one with the ponies, you have family back home. Or, you hope so anyways. You never really thought about home that much since arriving here, as it usually isn't a good thought. You are unsure of your family's situation along with the rest of your unit. Being in the military isn't something you particularly enjoyed, but your mates were more than that, they were brothers.

At this point you're so lost in your thoughts, you see the three story tall tree just in time before you walk into it face first. Rainbow is standing to your right and giving you an odd glare.

"Uh, the door is over here..." She says while having a quick giggle.

"Oh, right." You stammer out.

As you approach Rainbow, you see the door. It takes awhile for it to click, and then you realize that the whole tree is a home! You never even thought about it until you're about to enter. Taking tree-house to a new level!

Rainbow knocks on the door, and after a brief moment, it opens.

You hear an obvious male voice, "Hey Rainbow, what's up?"

You look over Rainbow's shoulders to see a very short, erm, amphibian of some sorts.

"I need to see Twilight, I need to introduce-, speaking of that, this is Jacob. He's a human from another world!" She is very enthusiastic to introduce you to the creature.

He has yet to see you, as Rainbow is towering over him.

He walks around her to greet you, "Hi! My name is Spike and- Wha- wha- what in Celestia? What are you?!"

"I told you! He's a human from another species!" Rainbow hollers, clearly amused by the creature's shock.

You crouch down to get on his level, "Hey there! My name's Jacob," you put your hands up in a passive way, "I'm not here to hurt you, as a matter of fact, I've taken more beating here than back on my home!"

Still with his mouth agape and eyes wide, "Yea- uh, my name's Spike, and uh, I'm the assistant at the library and for Twilight Sparkle." He says very quickly.

"Don't take offense from this, but what are you? I've seen amphibians back on my home planet, but nothing is even remotely close to you." You have to ask, he's just too abnormal!

"I'm a dragon! You don't have dragons where you're from?" He says in a comical tone.

Your eyes go wider than usual, but knowing that flying ponies and unicorns exist here, is a dragon really too far out?
Yes, it absolutely is!

"You're joking right? A dragon? Like a fire breathing, deadly dragon? You must be a very young one if so, as I'd imagine them being much larger."

"Oh, you don't believe me? I guess I'll just have to prove it to you!"

He then spits out a very small amount of flame, like a lighter running low on fuel.

"Wow! That was amazing!" You really mean it too, it wasn't like that in the Hollywood films, but it was still impossible back home.

"Sheesh, you really are new around here! I'm only a baby dragon as you said, but if you really want a magic show, Twilight can give you one!"

"I think I'll be alright for now, as much as I would love to see anything this place has to offer, I've really got to find a home or a temporary place to stay." As the words leave your mouth, you swear you saw a glimpse of sadness on his face.

"Hey! Stop fooling around over there and come on!" You turn to see Rainbow waving her hand- er hoof over to follow her.

"Let's head in, she seems to get grouchy when she's tired." You whisper to Spike, intentionally loud enough for Rainbow to hear though.

As you walk through the doorway, you feel a wave of coolness flow through your body. You flinch, and see a purple unicorn staring at you.

"Hi! My name is Twilight Sparkle, sorry if that caught you off guard, I just ran a little test to examine your magic. Rainbow told me a little bit while you were with Spike outside," She goes on and retells nearly the entire story, exactly as you had told Rainbow. "and now you're here at the library for a cloud walking spell, so you can crash at Rainbow's place?"

How she memorized all that, detail for detail beats you. What's even more impressive is that Rainbow remembered that much!

"Yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it."

"Well, I can't be too sure how this will go. You have no magic at all inside you, which is very surprising unless the world you come from has no magic." She laughs as she finishes the last sentence.

"Believe it or not, we don't have magic. What we lack for in magic, we make up for with technology." You tap your watch a few times, proving your point.

"No magic?! That's amazing! The technology required to replace magic must be very advanced!"

"Well no offense, but our technology is indeed advanced. In relation to your world's tech, from what I've seen, you are about where we were 200 years ago." You feel like a bad ass, never in life would you anticipate bragging about your world's tech in response to an unicorn talking about magic.

"That is most certainly incredible, I will have to look into your technology! By any chance, is that watc-" Rainbow puts a hoof in Twilight's mouth mid sentence.

"Alright egg-head, that's enough for tonight, we need to get him a place to stay. And that means we need that necklace thing." She seems to be in a much better mood since the boutique, that or she really just didn't like Rarity.

"Phftttt! Ugh, Rainbow! Don't do that, all you needed to do was just ask!" She wipes her tongue after spitting Rainbow's hoof out.

She goes up the stairs of the tree house and returns in only a few seconds. She comes back levitating a necklace.

"Alright, here it is. Rainbow, you need to be extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY careful with this! Don't lose it, and certainly don't trust it enough to just have Jacob try to walk on there with no worries, if he falls from that height that would be fatal!" She goes on, lecturing Rainbow. You tune it out and instead look at the rest of the library, it is very nice, a lot better than you would have imagined the inside of a tree looking like.

"Hey, you ready?" Rainbows hits you on the leg.

"Yep, let's get moving! I'm ready to hit the hay!" Pun intended baby!

Rainbow isn't amused.
