When Luna said that Coffee Talk would interview someone diffrent, she ment it
When Coffee Talk receives the strangest mission of her life: interview someone going by the name of Dr.Wolf. Coffee rolls with the punches and heads to an alternate Equestria where Dr.Wolf lives. her discovery that Dr.Wolf is indeed a wolf as the name would imply is only one of many problems when two familiar faces end up in the office. will the interview go smoothly? or perhaps Sombra, Coffee Talk, and even Dr.Wolf can learn more about themselves? (possible Sombra X Coffee Talk though it won't be the main focus)
Coffee Talk and this version of Sombra come from Ask King Sombra which is a blog created by Wiggles. Dr.Wolf is a brony analysis community member's OC.
Coffee Talk was sitting in her and Kingsley's home in Yakut when a chariot landed outside. Coffee Talk was confused by this as Luna hadn't contacted her in her dreams for a while now. just then she heard a knock at the door and went to open it only to find Shining Armor standing outside in full royal guard uniform. Shining spoke "Lady Coffee Talk, Princess Luna requests you at Canterlot Castle at once"
Coffee blushed, she know that everpony praised her as being the mare to stop Sombra and save Equestria so her being given the title of Lady was no surprise, what was surprising was that it was Shining Armor calling her by that title since he was a prince via marriage.
she decided to have some fun and spoke in a rather poor attempt at a Canterlot accent "Well we can't keep Princess Luna waiting so let us head off"
Shining laughed at this satire of the Canterlot Elites since he had grown up in Canterlot and disliked how stuck up most of the Canterlot Elite acted. Coffee Talk boarded the chariot alongside Shining Armor and the chariot took off for Canterlot Castle. Meanwhile Kingsley (actually king Sombra who was purified of his dark magic) woke up just in time to see the chariot with Coffee Talk fade into the distance.
"What mission does Luna want you to do this time?" Sombra thought as he decided he would follow Coffee Talk to make sure she was okay. the ride to Canterlot Castle was long and at some points boring but Coffee also loved seeing the places she visited from a bird's eye view as they looked beautiful. the chariot made stops to visit Coffee Talk's friends and she was happy to see them again. When the chariot landed in the courtyard of Canterlot Castle Luna rushed over and hugged Coffee Talk. she said "Coffee Talk, we are glad you made it safely here, there is something important we need to discuss"
Luna led Coffee through the halls of the castle till they reached a room where a strange portal was. Luna explained "This portal appeared out of nowhere last week, during that time I received a vision of you interviewing someone by the name of Dr.Wolf. Coffee Talk, I believe that you interviewing Dr.Wolf might just be the key to preventing a time collapse."
Coffee Talk was confused "Why me?".
Luna said "My visions tells me what must happen to stop greater disaster from occurring, and since I saw you interviewing Dr.Wolf in my vision that means that it is pivotal to saving both our dimensions from destruction"
Coffee Talk responded "I guess that makes sense, I won't let you down" Coffee Talk jumped into the portal. Sombra watched the scene unfold from the shadows and after Luna left he jumped into the portal.
The portal was beautiful to look at with all the colors but it decided to turn the adventure into a slapstick comedy by dropping Coffee Talk onto a hippogriff named Silver Quill.
Coffee Talk got up rather quickly and said "are you okay?"
Silver Quill said "I'm fine, just one request"
Coffee Talk asked "yes?"
Silver Quill said "please make the room stop spinning"
And Silver Quill span a little before falling to the ground.
Coffee Talk once again said "sorry" as she ran off to find Dr.Wolf.
A little while later Sombra arrived by landing on Silver Quill and making a squeaky toy noise. Sombra said "sorry" as he ran off to find Coffee Talk. Coffee Talk asked around town and finally learned where Dr.Wolf worked, at the top floor of a therapist building.
Sadly the elevator was broken so Coffee Talk was forced to climb the stairs to the top floor but both being an earth pony and her adventure with Sombra gave her tremendous amounts of stamina to make the climb. By the time she reached the top she had only taken a break once and that was to go to the washroom so her legs were tired from the long climb and before Coffee Talk could walk two feet they collapsed out from underneath her and she fell to the floor.
The fall disorientated her and her vision was blurry so she saw just a blur as a figure walked towards her and tried to get her up but after a while decided to try and get her somewhere.
Coffee Talk couldn't remember what happened next but she later woke up on a bright red couch. the room looked like a therapist's office, the room comforted her after what had happened.
Before Coffee Talk could fully take the atmosphere in, the door behind her opened and a voice spoke "Miss, I'm glad your alright, I feared you were hurt after you collapsed near my office"
Coffee Talk turned to the figure that stood at the doorway.
Sombra searched long and hard for Coffee Talk but had lost her amidst the crowd celebrating the return of heroes. He decided to blend in by partaking in the festivities by getting a snow cone to eat but he still searched for Coffee Talk. He kept searching but instead of finding Coffee Talk he found a sight that startled him: he saw a mare version of Whistler talking with what looked to be a fluffy mare with one of those Scotsmen's hats on.
Sombra and confused because Whistler had died right in front of him. he was prepared to write it off as just a coincidence when he heard Whistler say "Kingsley, is that you?"
In a female voice and rush to embrace Sombra in a hug, Whistler than turned to the mare accompanying her and said "Mad Munchkin, this is my friend Kingsley Sparklefriend"
Mad then began to speak in a heavy Scottish accent "so this is the friend you wouldn't shut up about? the one who saved you and everyone you cared for including your boyfriend Caribbean Splash?"
Whistler nodded two times and then Mad said "than why in the bloody Tartarus does he look like king Sombra?"
Sombra was about to say something but Whistler said "probably a coincidence."
Mad stared in confusion for a second than said "okay, it is probably a coincidence, besides today is the festival of heroes. we should join in on the festivities "
Sombra said "joining in on the festivities would be fun but I've got to go find my friend Coffee Talk"
Whistler giggled and said "don't you mean girlfriend?" Sombra was slightly annoyed but said "you will never let me forget that won't you?"
Whistler just smiled and disappeared into the crowd alongside her friend Mad Munchkin. Sombra thought "Coffee Talk is never going to believe me when I tell her who I saw"
Coffee Talk was speechless at the figure standing at the doorway. She assumed before that Dr.Wolf was a stallion the entire time until this point so the shock of finding out he was a wolf was both not surprising and strange.
"You're a wolf?!" Coffee Talk cried out almost falling off the couch. Dr.Wolf just had a look of 'I should've seen this coming' on his face. When he first started as a therapist he had received countless patients who were at first shocked or surprised over the fact he was indeed a wolf. He still remembered the day Twilight wanted to study him and even offered him a autopsy for when he did pass away, to which he replied "Thanks for the offer but I'm afraid I'll have to decline"
Dr.Wolf just walked over to his chair and replied "yes, I am a wolf, but I hope that knowledge doesn't bother you."
Coffee Talk just said "no it won't, I really should have seen that coming, your name is Dr.Wolf for Celestia's sake.
Dr.Wolf just chuckled at this and said "you came all this way here, I'm guessing your here for a therapy session?"
Coffee Talk replied "no, I'm here to interview you, but if your busy I'll wait" and she headed towards the door.
Dr.Wolf said "I'm not busy at this hour so I can.." just like that Coffee Talk mood perked up.
"Great, I'll get out my notepad and my pen out of my saddle bag" she said as she reached into her saddlebag and pulled out a notepad and a pen. Dr.Wolf internally laughed at the sudden vibrant energy she had displayed. If he didn't know any better he'd think Coffee Talk and Pinkie Pie were related.
Coffee Talk than sat on the couch and said "wait, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Coffee Talk"
Dr.Wolf replied "well pleased to meet you miss Coffee Talk"
Coffee Talk said "well, I want to ask how your bipedal, I mean I've never seen another bipedal wolf before."
Dr.Wolf said "the full story is long but I'll summarize it: I was turned bipedal and given intelligence via old and possibly forbidden magic spells."
Coffee Talk said "was it painful?!"
Dr.Wolf just nodded remembering the pain both transformations brought him. Coffee Talk than asked "well, do you have any family?"
Dr.Wolf replied "I had my parents and my sibling but they disappeared years ago, I was then taken in by a pony who raised me and transformed me into who I am today, he disappeared years ago as well, then I was taken in by my adopted brother and his family and got married."
Coffee Talk said "wow, that is a lot that happened."
Dr.Wolf just nodded. he know she wouldn't believe him if he was to tell her that his story actually began in the time of the first Hearth's Warming Eve so he kept that a secret.
Just before Coffee Talk could ask another question a figure opened the office door.
"Brother, you forgot your lunch at the house again" Coffee Talk stared at the figure and her jaw dropped, for there standing in the doorway was a dragon who could give Luna a run for her bits in terms of height holding a paper lunch bag.
Dr.Wolf approached and said "thanks for bringing my lunch"
The dragon said "no problem" and then left the room. It was complete silence as Coffee Talk stared at the door.
