It was shortly after Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy helped Zephyr overcome his fear of failing, and he wanted to stay in Ponyville a bit more. Mostly because he didn't have anywhere to stay. They stayed silent for a while, the only noise was the hitting of their hoofsteps on the hard ground. "Where are we going?" Zephyr complained. Fluttershy gave him a glare, "I told you that you're gonna find out when we get there." she turned back around, "and stop complaining, please." Zephyr ignored her request and continued to complain anyway. Fluttershy's ears drooped and she dropped her head, constantly having to listen to her bother drone on. "...If you're trying to find me another job, no thanks, 'cause I graduated from mane therapy training remember?" He said, pointing his hoof to his head. She nodded her head, "Yes I remember." Her ears perked up and she lifted her head when the faint outline of a house came into view. She started walking faster now, leaving Zephyr to catch up, "Hey! Wait for me!" he called from behind. She slowed down to a stop as Zephyr trotted up next to her. "We're almost there!" Fluttershy said as she pointed her hoof to the house. He cocked his head to the side, "A house?" he questioned. "Well.. Yes, but it's not about the house." She started to walk again, "We're going to see the lady who lives there." Zephyr raised his eyebrows, "Settin' me up with some girls, huh?" Fluttershy playfully rolled her eyes, "No Zephyr." "Aww too bad." Fluttershy could only chuckle as this. She approached the door and knocked a few times, then waited for the door open. Nothing. "Huh? She said she'd be here." Fluttershy turned around to leave, "I guess I'll check tomorrow..." The door creaked slightly, signaling that it had been opened. Fluttershy turned around at this, and looked at the unicorn mare. She had a light blue coat and lavender hair, which was pulled back into a perfect bun. She sported little red glasses, and she wore a suit of some kind. Her name tag said that her name was Lavendar Blue. "Sorry, I had to finish some paperwork for you in the back. Anyway, are you two ready?" She spoke in a gentle tone, but was loud enough to hear. Zephyr's face suddenly turned into a look of confusion, "Ready? Ready for what?" "Well to find you a house of course! Now, I already have a few places ready for us to go and look at. I didn't know what your preferences were, so I chose two homes on the ground, and two cloud homes." Zephyr still stood there, eyes full of shock, "Well I was totally gonna go look for a house, uh, sometime..." he looked over at his sister for backup, but she already shook her head, "I told you needed to find a place of your own." "But I....uh-" he was cut off. "Need to find a place to live." She finished for him, "You can't live with mom and dad forever! I thought we had gotten over this Zephyr!" He sighed and lowered his head, "let's get this over with..." Fluttershy and Lavendat started a conversation, while Zephyr was still moping around. "Which do prefer Zephyr?" He was suddenly snapped out of his train of thought, "Huh?" Lavendar rolled her eyes, "I said, which do you prefer, cloud homes or normal ones? Just in case nothing suits you, I'd like to know your preferences so next time I can find homes you like." "Well, cloud homes seem nice." "My friend Rainbow Dash lives in one, she says they're very relaxing!" Fluttershy said. Fluttershy and Lavendar started talking again for a couple minutes until we reached the house. "We're here!" Lavendar chorused. He groaned, but instantly lit up when a lightbulb clicked in his brain, "I dunno, I'm not really liking those pillars..." "Hmm..." Zephyr examined the countertop, running his hoof along the smooth granite surface, "I'm not a big fan of granite countertops." he stated, sticking his nose up in disgust. "Well, we can always get new counterto-" Lavendar started. He stomped his hoof firmly on the ground, "I will not stay in a place that has been touched, by some horrid piece of rock." "Zephyr, this is the fourth house we've looked at and nothing suits you! This was the last house!" Fluttershy scolded. Lavendar stepped up, "Well, if there's nothing he likes, we can always find more houses." She suggested. "Well sure, but it just seems like he's being a bit nit-picky." Lavendar nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I mean we could really just replace the granite with something else. I'm mean, there's stainless st-" "I'm sorry, but if the pony who lived here liked granite countertops, then I just couldn't possibly buy this house!" Zephyr interrupted. "I guess nothing suits him Fluttershy, at least I got his preference so next time I can hopefully find something he likes." "I doubt it." Zephyr butted in. "Well, I really can find just about any house. I'm sure we'll find something." Zephyr and Lavendar continued to argue as Fluttershy dropped her head once again. Fluttershy sighed, "Oh boy, this is gonna be harder than I thought..." > Chapter 2: "Could I ask a favor?" > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING: SHORT CHAPTER AHEAD Fluttershy flew swiftly above Ponyville, her hair swaying from the breeze. She frantically looked from side to side, searching for that certain cyan colored, rainbow maned pony. She searched for about ten more minutes, before giving up and deciding that Rainbow Dash wasn't outside that day. She turned around and headed for Rainbow's house, flying faster than before. Fluttershy flapped her wings, forcing them to go the speed she wanted to. She once more tried to speed up, but the pain in her wings convinced her not to. She was breathing heavily, gasping for air, forcing her to go slower. Her face brightened at the faint outline of the cloud house, making her forget about how much her wings hurt. She flew slower, knowing that she didn't have much farther to go. She finally reached the home in about five minutes, but for Fluttershy, it felt like an eternity. She slowly landed right outside Rainbow Dash's door, the soft cloud beneath her hooves. Fluttershy tried to fold her wings, but cringed at the sudden pain. She decided to go against the plan, and just leave them straight up. She knocked on the door, then waited for an answer. After a bit of pacing from Fluttershy, the door opened to reveal Rainbow Dash, just the pony she was looking for. "Oh, hey Fluttershy! Wha-" Fluttershy grabbed Rainbow's hoof and pulled her inside before she could finish. Fluttershy threw Rainbow on the couch, and took a seat on a nearby chair. Rainbow rubbed her shoulder, "Ow! That really hurt you know?" Fluttershy gave her a straight face, "It's cloud." Rainbow Dash blushed, "Yeah, well..." She cleared her throat, "Anyway, what was that about!?" "I came to ask you a favor." Rainbow motioned for her to continue, "About?" She took a deep breath, "Well you see, yesterday I took Zephyr out to look for a house of his own." Rainbow's eyes widened as a realization dawned on her, "Is he still staying at your parents house!?" Fluttershy silently nodded her head, "Well, that's kinda why I took to go look for one yesterday." Rainbow face-hoofed, "I should of known! I bet he'll be fifty years old, and still living in that house!" Fluttershy gave her a stern glare. Rainbow cleared her throat, "Carry on." "He didn't seem too excited at first, but once we reached the first house, he instantly lights up! So, I think he likes the house, and that this wasn't a complete loss." Rainbow nodded her head and intently listened for more, but started to get lost in her own thoughts.Wow. I'm seriously doubting Zephyr. I honestly thought he was past this. Well, I guess I was wro- "Are you listening?" Fluttershy asked. Rainbow snapped her head up, "What?" Fluttershy rolled her eyes, "Did you hear what I said?" Rainbow blushed sheepishly, "Um... No?" She said with a bit of curiosity in her voice. "Anyway, apparently he didn't like the house one bit... Or at least, that's what he was hoping we'd think..." "...I'm just, scared, Rainbow! I mean, what if he slacks off again?" Fluttershy had recently raised up from her seat, and started pacing, when she started to get to the point. Rainbow tapped her chin in thought, "But... He can't slack off if he has someone to supervise!" "That's exactly what I was thinking! And I was thinking... maybe you could check on him? I mean, you being the fastest and all..." She said in a quiet tone. Rainbow brushed off imaginary dust from her shoulder, "Yeah, I have some free time... Have often do you need me to check in on him?" Fluttershy hid her face behind a few strands of hair, "Maybe... Every-other day" She raised a hoof to her ear, "A little louder." "Maybe... Every-other day?" Rainbow's eyes shrank to the size pin-points, "Wha? But I- that's- fine." Fluttershy smiled wider than ever before, and she ran up and gave Rainbow a big hug, "Thank you so much! You don't know how relieved I am!" Rainbow slowly patted her on the back, "Yeah, well..."
