> The Untold Story of Prophet > by Arashi No Angelico25 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 0: Prologue > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was one of those nights in the summer where it wasn’t really hot but cool in the air. Afar from society, a family of three unicorns, soon to be four, is living in a small home somewhere in the woods. Noises can be heard inside the home as a mare writhing in pain as she was in the middle of her labor expecting a new foal. Her coat is amethyst while the color of her mane is magenta with a hint of light plum tint, and her eyes have a beautiful shade of pale green. Her name is Day Dream, but she wasn’t alone. Sitting beside her was her husband who had a dark slate blue coat with a lavender mane. The color of his eyes are royal blue which any mare could fall for since he is stunning, for a commoner. Fortune Hunter is his name! Despite he is not wealthy as his name was given. He began to brush Dreamer’s hair to comfort her and help her to forget the pain she’s in. It didn’t help much for Day Dream as she pants heavily and groans loudly as the contractions began to hit again. Hunter wished he could help her more rather than just stand next to her aimlessly comforting her. He gave her a small kiss on her head and nuzzles her softly. “Nngh. I thought this would be easier the second time…?” As she groans in pain making her difficult to speak. “Don’t worry hon, you’re doing great!” He replied as he encourages his wife. “It will all be over soon, I promise.” “Sweet Celestia I hope so!” She breathes heavily as she closes her eyes to rest for a bit. “I forgot how painful it is to give birth, but I know it would all be worth it to see our new baby foal!” She gave a small smile and sighs. In her mind all she could think about is seeing the new bundle of joy. She can’t wait to meet her little foal and hold the little one in her hooves! Thinking about it made her forget the pain for a small time until the next contraction hits. Unknowingly their older son happened to be there. He was not much older than 3 years old. Curious and a bit worried for his mother the young colt asked his father. “Daddy? Is mommy gonna be okay?” His father was surprised to hear his son’s voice since he is focused with his wife’s labor. Hunter smiled at his son and replied, “Of course, don’t worry Prophet, she is fine. I promise!” However this was easier said than done. It wasn’t long until Day Dream was hit with another contraction. “Ah! AAAAAAAHHHHH!” She buries her face into his chest and ends up biting. Hunter winces in pain and closes his eyes, “Ow! FFFFFFFFF….. Prophet, go to your room. I’ll let you know when you can come out.” The young colt nods and heads to his room. Before he goes to his room his dad called “Oh and Prophet?” The young colt looked back to see what his father wanted. “Would you mind shutting the door?” Prophet once again nodded and closes the door behind him. Hunter then turns his attention to his wife who pretty much let go the biting. Hunter inspects himself to see the damage his wife made and sees a red mark on his chest. It wasn’t big but it did hurt nonetheless. “Um, ouch!” He began to rubbing his chest. “That hurt!” He chuckles. However his wife is not amused. She let out a cute snort and replied back, “Don’t even say the word hurt right now, you don't know what hurt is.” Of course Hunter smiles at his wife. “I’m sorry love.” She huffs. “You should be.” “So grumpy. Not that it is different from any other day.” He chuckled. “Are we really doing this right now?” Dreamer replies. Hunter smiles, “Just trying to lighten up the mood. Plus you are very cute when you’re grumpy.” She pouts. “Hmph I am anything but cute right now.” “You’re right. You are very beautiful.” “Please stop being so charming, it hurts.” Hunter leans in and snuggles closely to Day Dream and she couldn’t help but snuggle him back. Meanwhile after closing the door to let his parents spend some time together before the new baby arrives, Prophet is in his room thinking about the whole thing. “Wow! I can't believe that I'm having a baby brother! Or a baby sister! I wonder what he or she would look like.” Just thinking about it made him feel more curious and excited to meet the new born. Of course Prophet knew this may take a while for the to baby arrive so he laid on his bed. It was one of those moments that he’ll have to wait patiently for something and patience was never Prophet’s strong suit. “I wish the baby would come sooner.” He sighs and decided to take a short nap. He slowly opens his eyes and is surprised upon waking! He observes his surroundings as there were trees everywhere. Prophet knew this was the forest since he already knows he and his family live in the forest. He heads for home to see his parents and the newborn, but to his surprise he sees the house old and in ruin. He quickly gallops inside to see his parents. “Mommy?! Daddy?!” He yelled but no response. He frantically begins searching the old home! He went to his parents’ room but saw nothing, it was dusty and broken down inside. He then went to his room to check if anypony is there but it was dusty and rotted just like his parents’ room, almost as if no pony had lived here for years? “What's going on?” He wondered as he started to worry. “Is this a dream?” He heads outside to see his house once more. “What has happen to my home? And where's mommy and daddy?” He stared at what he once called his home and closed his eyes. “Please tell me this is a dream!” he cried. He closes his eyes once more, hoping to return to in his room. He opens his eyes and saw that it still wasn't his room but a group of young colts and fillies playing in some unknown room or place. He looks around seeing that everypony was having fun, except for him. He never had seen so many ponies all at once. He tried to look around to see where he is. However one pony in particular has caught Prophet’s attention. He never met him in his life but somehow he looks very familiar. His coat had light shade of purple while his mane a dark violet-ish color. Prophet couldn't help but scratch his head. “Why does he remind me of somepony?” He couldn't find the answer to his question. He thinks about it until it was interrupted by a small orange filly’s voice who happens to be much older than Prophet and the purple colt. “Hey Lucky! There you are!” she yelled as she frighten the poor colt. Prophet watches the two foals interact with each other. “Lucky what are you doing here all by yourself?” She questioned her friend. “Oh nothing.” Her friend replied. “I'm just wondering…” He looks outside the window as the orange filly did the same. She can tell her friend was unhappy. “Lucky…” “I'm wondering if my parents or my brother is alive right now?” The orange filly looked at him with sadness as Lucky began to cry. She gave him a hug to cheer her little friend. “Please don’t cry.” She sighs. “To tell you the truth, I really don't know what happened to your parents or your brother.” The filly pause for a moment. “But you shouldn't feel sad about it. Just because they're not here right now doesn't mean you're not gonna see them again. I know it’s hard, trust me I know how you feel. My dad left me here a few years ago and he promised me he would come pick me up when he came back. But he never came. In my heart I know my dad is out there somewhere and hopefully I will get to see him again when I'm older.” Lucky sniffles and wipes the tears from his eyes. “B-But how do you know I'm going to see my family again? What if I don't ever get the chance to meet them?” The small filly replied with a warm smile, “Well I guess you should remain positive and don't give up hope. You may not understand now but you will in time. I guess what I'm trying to saying is everything happens for a reason. I know my dad wouldn't just leave me here for no reason. I don't know what they are but I'm sure he had a reason for why he did it. If I ever get the chance to see him again, I will ask him.” She thinks about her beloved father and sighs. She then turns her attention to Lucky, “Even if I don't meet him at least I got you.” This made Lucky smile knowing that he wasn't alone in this world. “Thanks Amber.” He hugs her once more and Amber embraced him with open hooves. “No problem Lucky, I'm here for you!” She let out a warm smile. “Now come on let's go find Hot Head and Annie.” “Okay!” As the two friends ran and search to find their other friends Prophet was once again alone. “Lucky? Is that his name?” He questioned to himself. Before he has more questions to figure out he needed to find a way outside. So he looked around the place for ten minutes trying to find the door until he discovered the exit. He opened the door and a bright light shined before him. This blinded his eyes for a second until he was able to see. What he found from the other side of the door was a hill. He looked back and the door was gone. Around him was grass and beautiful flowers: tulips, lilies, orchids, and other flowers he had never seen. There were trees that can be seen from miles away. He also saw snowy mountains from afar! Then he felt a gentle breeze blow through his mane. The young colt couldn't tell if this is a hill or small valley but whatever it is it sure was a magnificent sight to behold. He took a deep breath of fresh air and lets out. “Wow…!” He exclaimed. He was amazed of what he saw. It all ended however when he saw somepony in the distance. Once again his curiosity got the better of him and he decides to go after the pony. When arriving at the destination he noticed something about this pony. Despite the pony is much older, he froze to see him. “No.. It can't be him….” he whispered to himself. When the pony turn around and sees the little colt staring at him they both stare at each other for a minute. Prophet couldn't speak as if something is holding him back. The older pony smiled at him and began walking away from him. “Hey wait! Come back!” Prophet chased the older pony but no matter how fast he ran his little hooves keep he couldn't catch up with him. “Wait!” His voice echoed through the valley until the pony was no longer insight. The dream came to an abrupt end when Prophet finally woke up. He closed his eyes and rubs them to make sure he isn't dreaming again. He opens them and looks around to see if he is in some unknown place again. No doubt this was indeed his room. He saw his nightstand, his bed, his little nightlight (he has fear of darkness), and his toys. “I-I'm back? I'm back home! Whew!” Prophet sighs with relief knowing he's back home safe and sound. It was quiet. Still Prophet wanted to make sure that he is really back at home. So he decide to check his parents’ room. He opens the door of his bedroom and what he heard was somepony crying. He pondered, “Who is crying?” He remembers the baby's arrival. “The baby!” He exclaimed with enthusiasm. He rushed to his parents’ bedroom and completely forgot the dream he just had. When he reached his parents bedroom he slowly open the door to see without getting attention. He quietly hears his parents conversation. Day Dream was panting while Hunter picked up the brand new baby foal in his hooves and brings the baby next to his wife. “You did it Dreamer! Hunter looks at his second son and smiles. “Wow…. Just look at him.” “What a beautiful baby colt.” She starts cleaning the baby up. Hunter then grabs a blue blanket with his magic and puts it over the baby colt. “Wait a colt? That means I have a baby brother…” Prophet said this to himself. “Should I get Prophet?” Hunter asked. Day Dream nods. Just as Hunter opens the door with his magic and was about to head to his son’s room Prophet falls to the floor muzzle-first. “Ow!” He exclaims. Hunter and Day Dream were baffled to see their son outside the door. “How long were you outside?” His father asks. “Umm... not too long.” His son replied while rubbing his muzzle. “Hmm…” His father was begin to feel bit suspicious knowing that their son may have been listening to their conversation the whole time. He put that thought behind for he wanted his son to meet his new younger brother. “Oh forget it. Anyway come meet your new brother.” He lifts up Prophet with his magic and sets him on the bed. Day Dream softly cuddles her new foal as Prophet watched. For some odd reason Prophet sniffles the baby. “He looks so small.” He said after sniffling his new baby brother. “Mmhm. You were this small too you know.” His mother replied. “Whoa. So… Does he have a name?” “We never decided yet.” His father replied. “Do you have any ideas Prophet?” His mother now asks his son. Prophet stares at the new baby. He hesitates for a minute though to him it felt longer. Knowingly the dream he just had has return in his thoughts. “What if….that colt in my dream is my brother? Whatever happen to us?” Did something happen to us in the future?? And who the heck is Hot Head and Annie?!?” He was flooded with questions even his mother began to notice. “Prophet?” There was a sense of concern in her voice. Her husband can tell his wife is worrying just by her tone-of-voice. There was silence for another 2 long minutes. Nopony said anything... The only thing Prophet could hear is his heartbeat. He gulps down his saliva though it was hard for him to swallow. After being quiet for 3 minutes, Hunter decided to speak up however Prophet was the one to finally break the ice. “He's different than us.” Prophet says. “Hm? What do you mean?” His mother was now curious of what he really meant by “different”. “I d-dunno? He just…seems different. He's not going to be one of us when he grows up…” Both Hunter and Day Dream look at each other confused. “Maybe you mean that he's going to follow his own path as he gets older? Or maybe he will be independent? Is that what you mean, sweetheart?” His mother replied hoping to get an answer from her son. “Like a free spirit?” His father joins in the conversation. Prophet just simply shrugs. Dreamer looks at Hunter when he said “free spirit.” “Hm, I like the sound of that actually.” Dreamer says. “Huh?” Hunter now turns his attention to Dreamer. “Free Spirit. I think that is a great name. What do you two think?” “I like that a lot. Prophet, what do you think?” Hunter asks his son. Prophet didn't say anything. His response was simply a smile and nods in agreement. Daydream looks down at her baby and smiles warmly. “He’s going to grow to be strong and independent and peaceful. Our little Free Spirit.” > Chapter 1: Early Morning View > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's been a month since Day Dream had giving birth to a brand new baby foal, Free Spirit. At home it was peaceful and quiet, everypony was asleep. Of course young little Free Spirit was crying in the middle of the night and Hunter, like any other parent, comforted his son by singing in a soothing voice that helped little Free to sleep. Sure it took a while but it worked. Early the next morning where Hunter, Dreamer, and little Free Spirit was sleeping in one room, Prophet in his own room was awake. Prophet likes to get up early in the morning once a month; enjoy morning walks and watch the sunrise from a hill with his parents since it was a routine for him. Prophet quickly went to his parent’s bedroom. Prophet opens the door with his magic and slowly opens it, trying not to wake up the baby. He quietly walks to his parents’ bed as he whispers them. “Dad? Wake up. Mum? Mum? It's time to wake up.” He continues to whisper to them until they finally wake up. Hearing her son’s voice, “Hmm… Honey it's early? Go back to bed.” His mother replies while now sleeping the opposite direction away from Prophet, but that didn't stop Prophet who's now bugging his dad. “Hey dad! Let's go outside!” He began to whisper a little louder this time. Fortune Hunter let out a groan knowing his son won't stop bugging him unless he does get up from his bed. “Now? At this time? Ughhh…” He yawns and tries go back to sleep. Prophet is determined to get up the hill and watch the sunrise whether his parents like it or not. So he end up staring his dad. (Weird right?) Hunter then opens one eye to see if his son was still there and sure enough he is, staring at him. He sighs knowing his son won't go away just like that. “Fine. Fine. We’ll go just you and me. Your mother will have to stay here with the baby, okay?” As Prophet heard his father’s words he quickly left his parents’ room and out he went. Hunter gets up from his bed, stretches his back, and yawns once more to get the sleepiness out of his body. He then turn to his wife. “You know, this is your fault for introducing him morning walks.” “Mmm…well you owe me one.” She smiled in her sleep. Of course he smiled back and proceeds to head outside with his son. When he went outside the first thing he notice is his son’s backpack filled with things. Hunter wasn't amused. “Prophet, put your things back into your room. We're not going camping or anything like that.” Prophet then made a pouty face but obeyed his father’s words as he went back to his room and left his backpack. He quickly rushed out of the house and ran as fast as his little hooves could carry him. Fortune Hunter simply rolled his eyes and smiles at his son’s excitement. After passing through a forest they'd reached a high point view where they saw mountains beyond from where they're standing. The sun hasn't shown up yet so they're just in time for the sun to rise. As they look at the scenery Prophet looked down from the cliff and saw so many pine trees down below and a small lake. He was awed while his father smiled and took a deep breath of the fresh mountain air and lets it out. Yes the cool refreshing air as they feel the gentle breeze blowing through their manes. It was Hunter’s turn to look down below from where they're standing and it just simply took his breath away. Just seeing the view reminded Hunter of how much he love this view because it was special to him. This is where Hunter took Day Dream, his marefriend at the time, on their first date. “Heh. I can't believe how much I love seeing the view from up here.” He closes his eyes smiling while remembering the memories he had with his wife. “Why is that, dad?” Prophet asks. “Well besides it being a beautiful view, this is the place where I took your mother on our first date.” His father answered. Of all the times they've been here Prophet had never heard the story of his parents being here before. “Really? You never told me that before?” “Well it's true kiddo. Actually took her more than once. We always keep coming here. It’s our special place. Even after we got married we always go here at night to see the moon shining down the lake and watch the stars lit up throughout the night sky. It is very serene. I guess sometimes I forget how much this place meant something to me, since we began to have a family.” Hunter looked down through the forest as birds fly from the trees heading north towards the mountains. “Hey dad?” “Yes, my son?” “Does anypony know this place?” “Oh no. It’s our secret place. Honestly nopony lives here near the mountains except us.” “Oh? Cool!” “Yeah… Hey maybe someday when you’re older you can bring your children here as well.” The young colt couldn't help but raise his eyebrow after hearing what his father had said. “Uhh… Dad I'm too young to have kids. Also I don't want kids when I'm older. It's just too much work!” “Hahaha I feel you son, but you might change your mind once you have a wife.” “Eww! No! I don't want to have a wife! Ewww!” exclaimed Prophet in disgust. Hunter just simply laughed at his son’s expression. It wasn't too long until the sun started to rise up in the sky. The sun can be seen shining through the mountains as the light passes through the forest down below. “Prophet just look at the sunrise! The dawn of beauty always come after night”, said Hunter admiring the sunrise. “Yeah.” Prophet didn't say much since it took away his breath as well. They stayed for a while before they started to head back to their home with Day Dream and the newborn. As the night comes to an end here comes the beginning of another day. > Chapter 2: Dreams Do Come True. > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a long day for the family and it wasn’t too long, the sun was setting down as Prophet could see the Moon already from the window even though it was still technically daytime. Meanwhile his mother Day Dream is busy feeding her young foal, Free Spirit. The little one was very hungry after waking up from his nap. His mother looks back and gently smiles as she hears her small foal yawn after finishing eating his milk. “My sweet little Free Spirit,” she said it with a nuzzle. “Hey mommy?” Prophet asks his mother but she didn’t hear her son as she was busy paying attention to her younger son, so Prophet tries again. “Mommy? Mommy!” “Hmm? Yes dear?”, His mother finally snaps out of it now paying attention to her older son. “When is daddy coming back from work?” Prophet asked. “Oh, he’ll be here shortly.” She replied. “Ok then.” Prophet looks at the beautiful blue and orange sunset while he waits patiently for his dad. (Although Prophet was never the one who has patient.) There is not a single cloud in the sky, just a marvelous sunset and the Moon almost now high in the sky which he hasn't forgotten about. He stares at the moon for a bit until his mother said: “Sweetie have I ever told you about the Mare in the Moon?” Prophet looks back at his mother with a confused face, “Mare in the Moon?” Prophet wasn't sure if he heard his mom right the first time. “Mhmm. Have I ever told you that story before?” “No.” “Do you want to hear it?” “Yeah!” “Okay. Hmm let me see how it goes?” She thinks for a second. “Ah yes. A long time ago there was (and apparently they're still alive), she whispered the last part to herself. “Two regal sisters who ruled together and created harmony for all the land. The eldest used her unicorn powers to raise the Sun at dawn while the younger one brought out the Moon to begin the night. Their subjects, the ponies, played in the day but “shunned” the night and slept through it which made the younger Unicorn grow bitter inside; it led her to refuse the moon to be lowered. “Oh. What happens next?” Prophet asks. She continues, “Well as her bitterness continued to grow in her heart it transformed her into a wicked mare of darkness known as Nightmare Moon. Eventually she went on to rebel against her older sister for taking the admiration she yearned for for a long time. The elder sister pleaded with her younger sibling but the evil Nightmare Moon attacked her. The elder sister seen that she had no choice and knew what she had to do in order to protect her subjects. She reluctantly harnessed the power of the elements of Harmony and banished her permanently in the moon, therefore the elder sister took on the responsibility for both Sun and Moon, maintaining harmony in Equestria.” “What happens next?”, Said her son who is now filled with excitement in his eyes. “Umm…” She was not prepared for this. “I guess that is the end.” “WHAT!?!”, her son exclaimed. “That can't be the ending! Is the younger sister banned on the moon forever?!” Before her son can say more his ears raise up and quickly went to the window and looks up to see now the night sky. There it was. A beautiful white full moon high up on the horizon. “Honey it's just a story. Sort-of.” She whispered that last part to herself. She then looks at her younger son who happens to be finished eating and starts to get up slowly as she stretches her hooves and tries not to wake the baby by her movements. After stretching she now turned her attention toward her older son who is still looking at the moon from the window. She walks over there to join her son to watch. “It beautiful isn't it Prophet?”, She couldn't help but smile at the clear night sky. “Yeah…” The young colt replied back with a saddened face. Hearing the tone of her son’s voice Day Dream looks at her son and sees he is upset. “What's wrong, dear?” She asks. “It's just…” Her son paused for a bit while she waits patiently for her child to finish what he has to say. “It's sad that the younger sister was banished to the moon away from her family. It's sad that she has no pony to talk to and is alone all by herself. I don't want to end up like her.” While she was listening to her son talking she felt deep sadness inside her. “Oh sweetie. Nothing is going to happen to you,” she embrace her child into a hug holding onto him firmly but gentle comforting her young foal. Hearing the words of her son began to sink in as she remembers what the words of her elder son had said when Free Spirit was born a month ago. “He's not going to be one of us when he grows up…” “What does he mean by that? Did something happen to him in the future? Why is it still bothering me?”, She pondered hard trying to figure out what the meaning behind those words. She closes her eyes for a few seconds and quietly takes a deep breath. “Mommy?” “Yes sweetie?” “Are you alright?” Her son now seems concerned about his mother just by looking at her facial expression. “Yes dear… I'm fine.” She smiled at her child. A knocking can be heard from the door as both Day Dream and Prophet raise their ears when they heard it. Day Dream went towards to the front door and opens the door knob by using her magic. She let the door wide open to see her husband Fortune Hunter greeted them with a smile. “Hey!” “Daddy!” Exclaimed his son who was happy to see his dad after returning from work. “Hey kiddo. How was your day with mom?” “It was great! We went to the lake today and mommy taught me how to swim!” “Oh really? That sounded like fun. I wish I was there.” “You can come tomorrow!” Prophet exclaimed. “Sorry son but I have work tomorrow. Perhaps another day.” His father said which made Prophet’s ears droop knowing he can’t come tomorrow. His father notices his son’s sad expression which he attempts to cheer his son. “I promise I will join you at the lake. In fact let's all have a picnic together by the lake a week from now. How does that sound?” His son’s ear suddenly perk up once again hearing he was going to have a family picnic. “Yay!” Fortune Hunter laughs and happy to see the young foal leaping for joy. Day Dream also smiles to see the happiness of her elder foal. She soon heard a quiet yawn from her younger foal who was starting to wake up. Day Dream walks toward to her child and picks him up with her magic from her horn. The pink glow from her horn surrounds the young Free Spirit gently and floats the smaller foal slowly to his mother until they meet face to face. Day Dream gave the baby a warm smile. “And how are you, my love? Did you sleep well?” Of course the baby couldn't respond what his mother had said so all the baby could do is blow raspberries with his small tongue followed by a drool of saliva. “Ew sweetie.” She couldn't help but giggle at her son’s attempted response. Day uses her magic once again to get a small towel and used it to wipe off the drool off the baby’s snout. She then places the towel on a small table a few inches from her. By using her magic Day Dream gently levitates the foal and gently puts him on her back. The little one held to his mother. Fortune Hunter walks over to his wife and his younger foal which the foal immediately gave his attention to his Father. “Hey Free Spirit. You are so little.” He chuckles lightly. The baby unicorn looked at his father although not directly at him but what's on top of his head, his horn. Hunter knew the baby was looking at his horn so he lower his head for his son to get a better look. However Day Dream seems a bit worried for her husband’s horn getting too close to the baby. “Um… Hun?” “Yes?”, He looks at his wife. “Don't you think your horn is a little too close to the baby? I don't want the baby to get hurt by your horn.” She asked anxiously. “Don't worry, I won't do anything harmful to our foals if I knew it was dangerous.” He responded, which brought some relief to his wife’s concern. As his horn now meets in the same level in front of the young foal’s face, Day Dream cautiously observed like any other mother would do. Fortune Hunter let out a smile to the baby while the young one curiously looked at the older unicorn’s horn, smelling it. The baby was ready to bite the horn of his father until he gently picked up the foal with his magic and placed him on the back of his wife. “He seems to be hungry. Is dinner ready?” “Um no but I will get on right to it but I need you to watch over the baby and Prophet while I cook. “Sure, I’ll watch over the boys.” Fortune hunter uses his magic once again to get the baby off his wife's back while Day Dream heads to the kitchen to cook up dinner for her family. He lied down as he gently puts the young foal down next to him nuzzling the baby. In retaliation the baby boops his father’s nose which it made Hunter chuckle as the young one squeals in joy. Prophet soon joined his father to watch over his younger brother as he climbs on top of his father’s back and watches the baby. The foal then turn his attention to see his older brother and made gurgling noises. Prophet gets off from his father’s back and gets close to Free Spirit. He narrowed his eyes as he got close to his younger brother staring at him. The young colt tilted his head as why his older brother was staring at him. Prophet soon met with a lick as he was disgusted trying to get the saliva off from his face with his hoof. Fortune Hunter couldn't help but laugh at the confrontation between his two sons. A few hours after dinner was over it was time for the two young foals to get ready to go to bed. Day Dream tucked her younger foal in a crib while the older one crawls slowly in his small bed. “Mommy?” Prophet asks. “Yes dear?” “Where is daddy?” “Your father must be outside watching the stars.” “Can I join?” Prophet joyfully asks. “No sweetie. It's time for you to get some sleep.” “Aww.” Prophet responded in displeasure of his mother’s answer. “Now give mommy a goodnight kiss.” And just like that, the young Unicorn gave his mother a small kiss on the cheek and the mother returned the favor by kissing him on his forehead. “Sweet dreams, my little angels.” She heads toward the open door then looks back at the boys and smiles as she gently closes the door with her magic. After closing the door quietly she let out a sigh and decided to meet her husband outside the house. When she arrived outside she can see her husband indeed watching the stars above. It was an amazing sight to behold as thousands of stars can be seen lit throughout the night sky with no cloud in sight. It was perfect. “Nice seeing you here tonight, Ms. Dream.” Fortune Hunter noticed his wife was sitting down next to him out of the corner of his left eye while his head was still looking up. Day Dream giggled and decided to play along. “Well good evening to you as well, Mr. Hunter.” She moved closely to his body and playfully wrapped her tail with his, and nuzzled softly underneath his chin. Fortune Hunter starts to nibble her ear which has always been Day Dream’s weak spot. She tries to tell her husband to stop but couldn't pronounce the words right with the giggling. “You said something, dear?”, Hunter asks in a mocking manner. Day Dream quickly handles the situation by rolling her husband over. She is now on top of him. She smirked at her husband with an evil smile on her face. “Why yes my love. I said stop nibbling my ear. But my tables sure has changed.” She said while pressed her muzzle against his. “Hmph. Is that a challenge? Because I can tak..” Before he can finish of what he was going to say he was interrupted with a burst of laughter. Day Dream proceeds to tickle his sides. “St-stop it Dreamer!”, He begs. “Hmmm… yeah that's not going to happen.” She continues to tease him until Hunter decides to turns things around to his side by rolling over his wife. Now Fortune Hunter is on top of his wife feeling high and mighty. “I can see why you like the view from up here? I'm definitely liking it.” Now it was his turn to taunt his wife. “Nothing like feeling dominant than to pin my small wife.” She pouts. “I'm not that little, you jerk.” He looks down at his wife as she ignores looking at him and looks the other way. He rolled his eyes and gently kisses her cheek. It didn't take long for Day Dream to stop ignoring him and kissed him back. She gently kisses his neck and softly bites it which caught Hunter slightly by surprise. But it didn't bother him at all as their eyes made contact with each other, as both of them nuzzle each other. After some time had passed, Day Dream is now lying on her back on Hunter’s stomach snuggled by him as he lies on the ground on his back holding Day Dream as they both watch the night sky. “It sure is a beautiful night, huh?” Day Dream looks at the sky while looking at the stars twinkle. “Not as beautiful as you are.” Hunter responds. “Cheesy. But sweet.” She smiles at her husband’s comment. “You know Dreamer; it's been awhile since we had some alone time together.” “Yeah I know. With you working and I being at home with our two kids. The boys can be a hoof-ful sometimes with Free Spirit needing my attention most of the time and Prophet being a bit mischievous.” She finishes her sentence followed by a yawn. “Heh I can imagine.” He also yawned. “You know, Dreamer?” “What?” “It's amazing but yet surreal that I have kids with you.” “Oh?” She looks at him puzzled from his remark. “Yeah it feels weird. I mean not in a bad way; not saying I didn't want to be with you because you know I always had feelings for you. But if I can be honest here, I never would have thought I was supposed to have children with you until I told you about my dream I once had. Remember that?” “Ah yes. The dream where you told me about your ‘great treasure’ and you were looking for it?” “Right. Do you also remember about the ‘gift that keeps on giving?’” Day Dream simply nods her head. “Exactly. I find it strange and yet amazes me that the dream has become a reality. Just think seven years ago I told you about my dream and here we are now blessed to have a family together. Hunter embraces her tighter. “There's something I haven't told you when we got married. I know this may sound cliche to you but I made a promise to myself. I promised to always be there for you and the boys. I promise that I don't let our marriage fail like your parents, which I remember why you were hesitant when I said I wanted to marry you. As long we have each other, everything will be alright.” After Hunter finished talking Day Dream was touched by her husband's words. So touched there were tears streaming down on her face not of sadness but tears of happiness. On the other hand (or hoof) Fortune Hunter thought his wife was crying. “Oh, love, I didn't mean to make you cry.” “No.” She curls over and puts her hoof onto her husband’s mouth. “I'm just really happy that I’ve married you. I'm happy the fact I get to be the mother of your kids.” She cuddles him with love. “No. Not my kids. Our kids.” He smiled as he cuddled with his wife.” There was a moment of silence where the couple closed their eyes nuzzling; with their horns touched together as the cold breeze of the night blew through their coats, but they weren't cold. They have the warmness from each other. It was then Hunter decided to speak. “Prophet and Free Spirit. I want to spend time with them as long as I can. I hope I can give them an awesome childhood, a great education, and a good life. And when they're old enough to be on their own... Yeah I want to be in the boys’ lives long enough so someday they can have families of their own and be fathers of their children. I want to be a huge influence for them so that they can have a positive life. That's my duty as a father.” Day Dream can see the seriousness in Hunter’s eyes as he passionately wants to be the best father he can be. That made her smile for a few seconds only for her to make a small frown “Something wrong, hun?” “It’s just… do you remember when…” ,She wasn't able to make the words come out of her mouth. “Remember what?” Hunter asked. “Do you remember when Prophet said, “He wouldn't be one of us in the future”? What do you think he meant by that? Did you think something happens to us in the future? Will Free Spirit run away from home because we’re bad parents?” It was this point Hunter knew Day Dream is starting to get worried. “Hey, hey, take it easy, you’re overthinking. Nothing bad is going to happen to us. ...True, It was unusual Prophet would say something like that. Then again kids are always saying weird things at a young age. Heck even me. Don't let it get to you.” “I know but…” “Day Dream. Nothing bad is going to happen to us. As long as I'm here, I will protect you, Prophet, and Free Spirit from harm. Even if I have to sacrifice my life just to protect you and our kids! That's how much I love you and the boys.” With that, Day Dream felt comfort in her heart after hearing his words full of zeal and certainty. “Thank you my love for always comforting me when I needed you the most. Not just as my closest friend but as my husband too.” She leaned to give a deep kiss with Hunter as he connected his lips with hers as well. To them the kiss felt it would last forever but after a good amount of seconds they broke the kiss. “I love you, Fortune Hunter.” said Day Dream. “I love you too, Dreamer.” Hunter replied back. Just as they are ready to go inside their home, Day Dream ask her husband in a playful and seductive manner with her tail all over on his face. “So do you still think I have a nagging voice?” He turned red knowing he had seen this before. He plays along. “Hmm sometimes you do.” She gasped dramatically and playfully slap him with her tail. “You're so mean. Hmph!” “Haha I’m kidding. Even with your nagging voice I still love you.”
