> Our Last Letter > by BTNFStudios > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Our Last Letter > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Dad, Me and Spike were guessing that if you're reading this, then you know that...... well we've died from cancer. We know that you wanted us to be OK, but because the cancer has beaten us, well, we can't seriously blame you for being wrong. Our lives have been good, but when we were coughing up blood, we was worried and so was you. The doctor told us that Me and Spike has about a few weeks to live. When that week struck, we were now weak and then died. But anyway, you've been the best adoptive father Me and Spike had ever had, Dad. You & Mom took good care of us ever since our REAL parents died because of....... well, you-know-what. You've also been a good assistant to us as well. You do all the hard work and always welcome us back when we come home from our trips. We also sometimes chase after you angrily when you do silly things, like that time when I married Flash Sentry and he revealed that you was his best man. Me and Spike have to say, dad that although you do silly things, your still our best adoptive dad. You have also been a good grandfather to Nyx. We know Me & Spike said it before and I know it's going to annoy you, but we love you very much, Dad. We're going to miss the good old days when the three of us used to watch the sunset together. The three of us sleeping all together. The look of your blue eyes when you said how much you loved us straight to our faces. Me and Spike had the best thing in the world, you. But now that Me and Spike are dead, we can't come back. Rarity told Spike that she loves him very much and I guess Spike deserves it because he's the best husband and the best dad. I've also deserved Fluttershy telling me I'm the best sister figure and I told her she's the best adoptive aunt to Spike. Me and Spike also remembered your words over and over again: "With great power, comes great responsibility." We also saw you, mom, Uncle Phineas, Aunt Isabella, Megan and Bobby how happy you were. Like every happy memories that Me and Spike have done to you, thanks to all the love and friendship that we have succeed to give you. Me and Spike also wanted to give your niece Megan the best birthday ever. We did by teaching Megan how to use magic and fly like us. After that, we had a talk. You thanked us for giving Megan the best birthday ever. You also said that you couldn't wish for a better adoptive Son and Daughter. When you said that, Me & Spike were touched by what you said. Anyway, there isn't much else to add to this letter now. Me & Spike are in a hospice now awaiting our fate, as we write this letter along with our will. It's My and Spike's hope that you'll read this and will always remember us, dad. And to all the girls we know, thank you for all the best memories we've had with you. You all have been the best friends and family Me & Spike can ever wish for. Uncle Phineas & Aunt Isabella, if your there as well, congratulations on being Bobby's adoptive parents and we want to thank you two for being the best adoptive Step-Second Cousins and the best Uncle and Aunt figures to Me & Spike. Take care of Mom & dad for us. We also wanted to give you in our will a giant heart with your names on it so we'll remember the best couples, but don't tell Aunt Candace about this, because we know she'll bust us for this. Rarity, Spike wanted Me to tell you to say thanks for being the best wife and mentor to him. He also was the best father to Crystal and Silver, and he wants you to take good care of them. He also leaves you a red and blue gem for Crystal and Silver. Applejack, you've been a good friend to me and the best adoptive aunt to Spike. Spike wanted to say that he's going to miss you very much and you've been the best adoptive aunt to him. He also wanted to leave you a thermos full of cider. Megan, thank you for being the best adoptive cousin to Me & Spike, but your more than that, you more like a sister to us. That's why Me & Spike leave you in our will a light brown stetson hat. Applejack wanted you to have it as it was her father's. And Starlight, Me & Spike didn't know if things were different since you was revealed as our sister, but deep down, your the best sister to us. We leave you in our will a engagement ring for Sunburst. I know it sounds crazy, but Sunburst told Spike that he wants to be her husband, so he got an engagement ring just before our deaths. He wanted you and Sunburst to be a good couple. Again, Dad, thank you for being the best adoptive father and because of that, Me & Spike leave you a photo album to remember us and to show your other relatives and friends. Me & Spike can only hope that, where we are going, we’ll meet again so we can see each other in person. With love, from your best adoptive Son and Daughter, Twilight & Spike the Dragon Sparkle Adam lowered the letter that he had read out loud to everypony away from his crying eyes and looked around the church they had all gather in. All his friends, including his beloved wife were all holding each other, tears streaming down their faces in unison. Even the Princesses, front and center, looked ready to cry. Adam looked at the letter once more, and then turned to the half open coffin behind him, surrounded by every flowered color of the element of magic and element of heroism. Inside, he saw the body of his best friends & adoptive son and daughter. Spike wore a black tuxedo jacket with ruffled white shirt and red bow tie he wore at the gala and Twilight wore her coronation dress when she became princess. A Alicorn & Dragon lay on a casket full of lilies, making them look divine as angels are in eternal sleep. Adam saw peaceful smiles on Twilight & Spike's lips, but Adam wished he could see Twilight's Moderate violet eyes & Spike's Moderate pistachio eyes and always held such life in them. He had been through so much because of this mare and dragon. But now, standing before his empty heart of a body, Adam could only cry as he looks at his son and daughter's bodies. "Twilight, Spike," Adam said in a brink of tears. "You're the best friends & son and daughter a teenager could ask for. You're kind, you're faithful, you're strict, you're true. But no one, and I mean no one, will ever replace you as my number one son and daughter." His eyes blurred with tears as he cried. "I really loved you, guys." He choked. "You-You was my son and daughter." Adam kept his eyes locked on the sleeping pony and infant dragon. "I know you two didn't want to see me cry, but I lost my Uncle Robert, my great-grandmother, Bessie, my step-grandparents, Ashley, Lola, Dale, & even Chris. I know I was sometimes angry and short-tempered, but I..... I just- Adam felt a hoof wrap around his shoulders, then another. Adam looked up with reddened eyes to see his six friends standing beside him with comforting smiles. "It's okay, sugarcube." Applejack said, smiling through her tears. Adam couldn't believe that he was crying like a baby in front of his six friends. But Adam didn't care about it at this point. With all his friends at his side, I knew I could get through this. Smiling back at the casket, Adam said with a genuine yet wobbly smile, "Twilight, Spike, if it wasn't for you two, I wouldn't have met you two and your friends and your family. You two are the best friends and son and daughter a teenager could hope for. You two may be with your real parents, but it's like you said: With great power, comes great responsibility." Tears slid down his cheek as he reared his head to open his bag. He took out a purple gem and a necklace with a heart out of his bag. Adam then put the gem on Spike's still chest. He then put a necklace around Twilight's neck. Once he done that, Adam leaned forward and kissed Twilight & Spike in a forehead. "Take care of yourself, Twilight & Spike. I love you both." Said Adam, tearfully smiling.
