Arrival and Contact
The Wasteland
The barren wasteland which both Mattock and Cody called 'home' seemed to strech on for miles.... because it did strech on for miles and they were both walking very slowly.
Mattock had his standard combat gear on which included a red hued visor, a mask, camoflauged hoodie and pants, enforced combat leg guards and hard as steel boots. He also had a core in the centre of his suit which Cody often tinkered with to give him unique abilities such as invisibility and teleportation. Mattock owned a state of the art assault rifle as well.
Cody was wearing a black hoodie, black jogging pants, some black trainers and his trusty backpack. The hood often shadowed Cody's face to give him a sense of anonymity from anyone looking at him. All Cody had in terms of defense was his pistol which often saved his life in sticky situations. Cody also carried a ITK (Integrated Tool Kit) which allowed him to activate his abilities on himself and an ally from a holographic wrist watch.
"So.... When do you think that we'll arrive back at base, Matty?" Cody asks for the fifth time as he treks behind Mattock, his trainers plodding heavily down with each step into the sand.
Mattock groaned in annoyance, he absolutely hated it when Cody addressed him with nicknames like 'Matty' or 'Matt'. "We will be there soon, Cody, now can you please stop asking me that every minute?" Mattock asks as he scrunched up his face, now visibly annoyed by Cody.
"But how 'soon' is 'soon', I mean, it's soooo boring just walking through the wasteland like this." Cody says with an exaggerated tone as Mattock just rolls his eyes and looks to the North.
Mattock squints his eyes and spots a sandstorm approaching from the North and sighs "Cody, can you still teleport us? Because I'd rather not have to waste time sitting inside a cave." Mattock asks as he looks back at Cody.
"One step ahead of ya!" Cody says with the ITK already ready as he grabs onto Mattock's shoulder and hits the button on the teleporter icon, a flash of blinding light engulfing them instantly, illuminating the Wasteland for a brief second.
Equestria, Canterlot
Celesia's sun shined over Canterlot with great intensity. Canterlot was busy with the hustle and bustle that came with any city, with droves of chained humans being taken through the streets who were often looked at with disgust by many ponies and with mercy by few.
A white flash of light emitted from one of Canterlot's many alleyways, making many ponies look over at the source of the light with a curious gaze. "Warn me next time you use that..." Mattock says holding back vomit by putting a hand over his mouth which could be heard by the ponies in the street, the sound echoing from the alleyway.
"Hey, at least we got out of there before that sandstorm rolled over." Cody responded, amused at how his friend was holding back vomit.
"Wait... where are we anyway?" Mattock asked as Cody saw a pony-like shadow approaching them and he quickly grabbed onto Mattock and turned himself and Mattock invisible using his ITK by pressing the button on the invisibility icon.
"Anypony down here?" A guardspony asked as he looked down the alleyway, seeing nothing he shrugged and turned around, as the rest of the ponies once intrested by what was happening went on with their daily lives.
"What. The actual. Fuck." Cody says over the comms to Mattock, both of them still invisible.
There was only silence from Mattock as he was still contemplating what had just happened.
"That was some sort of... horse... thing which spoke English... perfect English!" Cody stated still not knowing how to explain what had just transpired.
"Cody, How long will this invisibility last?" Mattock asks as he slowly walks to the end of the alleyway.
"About... 1 hour. Maybe 2 if we're lucky..." Cody responds as he follows Mattock thanks to his integrated HUD highlighting the outline of Mattock while he's invisible.
Mattock stops at the end of the alleyway "Woah..." he says in awe as Cody soon reaches the end and gasps.
Cody and Mattock both walk out of the alleyway and into the streets to look around at the masses of ponies that were swarming through the streets. Cody looked around at the massive white structures around him "It's so beauti-AHHHH!" Cody screamed in pain as a mare's nose bumped into his crotch making his invisibility turn off, causing many ponies to stop and look at the direction of the scream to see a human. The mare rubbed her nose with her hoof and looked up at the now visible human and backed away slowly in shock.
"Uh... it's okay... pony things... that only hurt my penis a little bit... no need to worry about me." Cody says awkwardly, rubbing his crotch which was still in pain, as most of the ponies gasped at how he was able to speak.
"It can Speak?" "A speaking human?!" "My stars..." Some ponies said in shock as Cody just stood there, slightly confused "Uh, I'm standing right here peop-ponies. And yes I can speak." he says folding his arms with an exaggerated a look of outrage on his face.
Cody noticed the ponies looking behind him and quickly jumped to the side, barely avoiding a pony which tried to tackle him and landed face first onto the ground. Cody looked from his angle of view and spotted a few naked humans which were chained up in a line "Fuck this shit! I'm outta here!" Cody shouts as he runs off in a random direction at full sprinting speed, holding onto the straps of his backpack, as a couple of guardsponies made chase after him, Cody unknowingly running towards Canterlot Castle.
Mattock just chuckled as he had watched the whole thing unfold from the safety of him being invisible "Better get to him before they do..." he says quietly to himself as he jogs after Cody, carefully avoiding bumping into any ponies on the way.
