Day-0-Thursday

One day, on an island, a 15 year old boy, called Locke, was getting ready for school when his mum called him downstairs for breakfast.

"Nearly done!" he called down. Then he packed the last of his pencils into his bag and ran downstairs.

"I'm going to be working out of town for a few nights, so I'm trusting you to stay here and not get into trouble." His mum told him, as they were eating breakfast.

Locke was confused. His mum had never let him stay on his own that long. The more he thought about it the more exited he got.

Once he finished his breakfast and after a kiss from his mum Locke left for school.

When he got back from school he didn't know what to do so he searched the pantry for dinner.

After dinner he called over his friends for movie night.
Once everyone was settled down they watched movies until They had to go home.

He started playing Xbox because the next day was a public holiday.

After a while Locke got tired and just before he went to bed he heard something that sounded like plane.

Then a massive explosion from outside shook the house and he shouted in shock.

When he looked outside he was almost blinded by a great fire in a crater.

It was lucky his mum wasn't home because the car would have been destroyed.

Locke went outside with a torch and realised he didn't need it because the fire was so bright.

When he approached the crater the fire slowly went out and in its place was a creature (that looked like a horse.

Then he realised it was smaller, (maybe a pony?) with blue fur and a mane and tail like the night sky.

Yet the strangest thing was that it had a mark like a crescent moon on its flank, and a horn and wings!

He called out "Hello? Can you hear me?".

Then Locke realised that it looked like it was seriously hurt: it's front legs were twisted and looked sprained.

He slowly climbed down the craters side and examined it more closely. He assumed it was female because of its feminine features.

Locke saw that the damage was worse than he had first thought.

She was pretty small so he scooped her up and carried her back to the house.

When he got back in he put her on the sofa and got on the computer.

He looked up how to look after a pony with a broken leg but all he got where suggestions to take her to the vet.

Then he remembered the first aid kit under the bathroom sink. Locke grabbed it and ran back to the pony.

She was bleeding quite a bit from large cuts to her side. He knew how to stitch up small wounds but never anything this big.

Locke decided to give it a try.

After a brief tutorial on the Internet and a few pinpricks he managed to stitch up all the major wounds.
He then cleaned her up and put her in his bed.

He went and got some pillows and a blanket from the spare room and put them on the sofa.

It took a while but eventually he gave into his wariness and fell into a dark, dreamless sleep.

Day-1-Friday
The next morning Locke woke up and was just about to have breakfast when he remembered the pony from the night before.

So he went upstairs too check on her.

When he felt her forehead he found out she had a temperature so he went and got a cold cloth.

Locke was wiping her forehead when she opened her eyes, he was so surprised he fell over.

When he got up the pony was looking around wildly. She then tried to fly but her wings were still wounded.

She looked at Locke with fear in her eyes then she scrambled to the corner of the room, wincing in pain because of her hurt legs.

Locke tried to calm her down "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Calm down!" but she was having none of it. She lashed out at him screaming.
So he had an idea, he went to the other side of the room, sat on the floor and waited for her to calm down.

After about 5 minutes the pony calmed down enough to stutter some words, much to Locke's surprise. "Where am I? How did I get here?"

When Locke managed to get over the surprise of an animal talking and gather his thoughts he replied "Uh... England. I don't know how you got here. You kind of crash landed outside."

She studied him and asked "What are you?"

" My name is Locke. I'm a human. What are you?" he asked, quite interested.

The pony looked away and said "I'm a pony." So she WAS a pony.

"What's your name?" Locke stood up and sat on a chair.

She looked away and said "That's none of your business."

"Come on I told you mine." Said Locke.

The pony sighed "Okay, but first tell me what happened."

Locke sighed and said "I was just about to go to bed when I heard an explosion from outside. I went outside to check and there was a crater with you lying at the bottom, unconscious. You were hurt so I took you inside and stitched you up."

She looked at me in disbelief so he pointed at the window but she didn't move. He didn't expect her too.

She then looked over her body, checking all of her cuts and scratches.

She slowly sat up properly and asked "You healed me? How?"

"Well I kind of patched up your bigger wounds but I didn't know how to fix your legs." said Locke. "I tried to make a splint but you kept fidgeting."

The pony looked away. "Sorry about that."

"It's okay." Locke replied.

"Anyway... My name is Luna. I am a princess from Equestria."

Now it was Locke's turn to look disbelieving "Okaaay... Anyway, do you know what could have brought you here?"

Luna said "I was fighting my sister, Celestia, when she used the Elements of Harmony on me then I woke up here."

"Well... It's not the weirdest thing I ever heard." Locke chuckled.

"Are you hungry?" he smiled. Luna's stomach grumbled
"I take that as a yes then." he laughed.

"What do you eat?"
"Do you have any hay fries?" Luna asked.

Locke replied "What are hay fries?"

"Okay, what about salad?" she asked.

"Uh... I guess I have the ingredients in the fridge. Do you want egg with it?"

She shook her head. "Can I have some water instead?"

"Of course." Said Locke. And he left the room.

When he got downstairs his brain still couldn't process what had happened.

He went over to the fridge and got out some lettuce, tomato and cucumber.

When he had finished the salad he got a glass of water from the fridge (cold water cleared the head) and headed back upstairs.

When he went into his room Luna was lying in his bed, being careful not to put too much pressure on her front legs.
She turned her head to look at him as he walked closer to her.

He put the bowl of salad and the glass of water on the bedside table and sat on the chair that he had put next to the bed when treating her temperature.

Luna sniffed the salad curiously like he had put something else in it.

She took a bite and smiled at the taste. "This is good. Better than the palace cooks. Where did you learn to make salad?"

"Actually it's my first time making it." Locke said.

Luna replied "Well you are good at it. You should get a job at a restaurant. Make a bit or two."

"What's a bit?"
She looked surprised "The currency in Equestria."

"Well we have pounds here." said Locke.

Luna finished the salad and washed it down with the water.

"Okay is there anything else you need?" he asked.

"No nothing thanks." "Well I'm going to the vet to get some healing tips and some supplies." said Locke.
"When will you be back?" asked Luna.

"An hour or two." replied Locke.

"Okay then. I'll get more sleep. And by the way, thank you." she said.

"No need to thank me. You where hurt and I helped. Bye." he said.

"Bye." said Luna.

When Locke got to the vet and had chained up his bike he went inside.

He went up to the front desk and asked how to help a pony with hurt legs. She spoke into a phone on the desk and asked Locke to wait.

After a few minutes a man came out and said "Are you Locke?"

"Yes."

"Then come with me." He led Locke outside where there were horses running about.
The man said "My name is Edward Buck but you can just call me Buck."

"Okay." Locke replied.

"You wanted help on a wounded pony?" asked Buck.

"Yes." replied Locke.

"Well, I can come over later." said Buck

"No no no no that's okay. I just need some supplies and advice."

Buck looked surprised but said "Okay, we have some medical supplies over there and as for advice, what kind of advice?."

"Well, the pony won't sit still when I try to help so I can't put the splint on." said Locke.

"And don't suggest a sedative because she doesn't like needles."

"Well I'm sorry to say it's the needle or tablets, but they cost more." said Buck.

Locke sighed. "Could I do it at home then?" He asked.

"I don't see why not." said Buck.

"Okay I'll take them. Where do I pay?" asked Locke.

"The front desk." replied Buck. "Okay, bye." And just like that Locke was gone.

When he got home with the supplies he first got breakfast and then headed upstairs.

He found Luna asleep and woke her up. "I've got a splint and some sedatives but there only as a last resort. If your in too much pain just swallow these and you will fall asleep again. Okay?"

"Okay." She straightened her legs and winced in pain. "Okay I'm ready."

When Locke began to set the splint Luna began gasping in pain.

"Do you want the sedatives?" He asked, concerned

"No, I'm okay."

He had finished one leg and began on the other.

"So who is Celestia?"

"She is my sister." Luna huffed.

"Why where you fighting? Did she take something or what?"

"I don't want to talk about it right now."

Locke had finished the other leg. "Okay, done."

"Thanks." said Luna. Suddenly Locke groaned and said

"My mum's going to be home soon. What am I going to do?"

"Tell her the truth." Said Luna.

"I can't. She'll call the authorities. They'll take you away and preform experiments on you, see how you work." Locke thought for a minute.

"I know, you can stay up here. I'll bring you food and water and I have a bathroom over there." He pointed to another door.

"The only problem is getting mum not to come in here and covering up the crater."

"Do you have a lock on the door?" Luna asked.

"Yes but I'm not allowed to lock it."

"Just say you're working on something private."

"That might work." Said Locke "But what about the crater?"

"Let me deal with that." said Luna. Her horn glowed midnight blue for a moment and then she said "There, the crater is filled in."

Just then they heard a car coming up the driveway. "Bloody Hell!" he exclaimed.

He looked at Luna.

"Luna, are you going to be okay on your own for a few minutes?"

"I'll be okay, don't worry."

By the time Locke was downstairs his mum was just getting in the front door, looking tired.

"Hello mum. Did you have a good time?"

"What do you think?" His mum asked. "Anyway I'm going to bed. It's been a long two days."

After his mum went to bed he moved the TV from the "game room" and moved it to his bedroom.

Then Locke got the spare mattress and put it on the floor next to the bed. Luna was asleep so he put the TV on quiet.

After a while he realised Luna was had woken up and watching TV with fascination. Sarcastically he said "Good afternoon Luna."

She didn't move but kept watching the TV "What is that moving picture?"

"It's called a television or TV for short."

When the sun started going down Luna got up (being mindful of her legs) and Locke thought she was going to get a closer look at the TV but she walked to the window.

He was curious when her horn lit up and he asked what she was doing.

She said "Raising the moon of course."

Locke replied "The moon raises itself naturally."

Luna scoffed "Don't be silly. I raise the moon every night." And to prove her point her horn grew brighter and the moon started to ascend.

He gaped at her and stuttered "W...wow. That's amazing"

"Well it's not that amazing." she said as she blushed.

"Well it's time for sleep. You can have the bed and I'll have the mattress." said Locke.

"No, it is your bed. You should have it."

Locke argued "You're wounded, you need a more comfortable sleeping arrangement."

"Okay, fine. I'll take the bed." said Luna as she lost the argument.

Day-2-Saturday
That morning literally started of with a bang,

Locke's mum banged on the door for mim to get up and the sudden noise made Luna fall out of the bed.

His mum asked "What was that noise?"

Locke said "I just fell out of bed mum! I'm okay."

He looked at Luna and saw that one of her splints had come off and that she was wincing in pain.
Locke ran over to her and helped her back onto the bed and put Luna's splint back on (which was painful for her).

The moon was still out so Luna slowly walked over to the window and began to lower it.

Locke looked at the clock and saw that it was 7 o'clock so the moon being out wasn't so unusual.

Once Luna had lowered the moon fully Locke asked "Do you want some breakfast?"

She asked "What could I have?"

Locke said "Uh...we have cornflakes." "Okay."

When Locke went down stairs he could hear Luna getting in the shower.
He had explained how to use it so she didn't use only steaming hot or freezing cold water.

His mum was in the kitchen making toast, Locke was glad she was slightly deaf so she couldn't hear the water running in the shower.

He made a bowl of cornflakes for Luna and wheat-bix for him.

When he was just about to go back upstairs his mum said "Why do you need two bowls of cereal?"

Locke quickly replied "I'm very hungry."

His mum looked at him suspiciously but let him go back upstairs.

When he got into his room he locked the door and put Luna's breakfast on the bedside table. She was still in the shower.

Locke turned on the TV and started playing his Xbox.

A few minuets later Luna came out of the shower with her mane and tail wrapped in towels, her fur was knotted and puffed up in places.

It was hard not to laugh at her but he managed to keep it to himself.

"Want some help with that?"

"Yes please. Do you have a brush?" asked Luna.

"I will have to get one from my mum." and with that Locke left the room.

He snuck down the hall into his mums room and took the most comfortable one from her draws.

When he got back to his room Luna was drying her mane and tail with the towels.

Locke walked up to her and asked "Where do you want me to start?"

Luna replied "Can you please brush my mane first?"

As he started brushing her mane he heard his mum waking up the stairs.

He quickly rushed Luna into the bathroom and shut the door right as his mum came in.

"What are you doing?" his mum asked.

"Uh...I just went to the toilet." said Locke.

"You look like you're hiding something." his mum said, looking suspicious.

"No, I'm not hiding anything." he said frantically.

"Hm, okay I don't really believe you but promise me you'll be careful." said his mum and she went back downstairs.

Locke sighed in relief and opened the door.

"It's okay. Mum's gone now."

Luna walked out and lay on the bed again "All this hiding is frustrating. Do you have any books?" she asked.

"I think I have some in the cupboard." and he walked over to the cupboard and pulled out the first of his favourite series.

"This is an interesting series, you might want to give it a read. While you're reading I'm going to look into how to get you home."

Luna looked surprised and said "Do you think there is even a way to get back?"

"I'm not sure but if there is i'l find it." promised Locke.

"Thank you!" cried Luna as she hugged him. He blushed and said

"You're welcome."

Luna then picked up the book in her magical grip and opened to the first page.

Locke began looking for information to help her get home.

After an hour or two Locke found something, "Listen to this! There have been records of an undiscovered element appearing multiple times in the last few years. Do you think this "undiscovered element" is magic, like the way you got here?"

"Maybe, but how?" Luna asked.

"I don't know. It doesn't say here. It seems the government put up fences around the site for a few months whenever it happens. I'l see if I can find anything else."

Later Locke brought Luna a late lunch, an apple, banana and grape smoothy. Locke had noodles.

After lunch he started his homework, an assignment which was due the next day.

When dinner arrived he slipped a portion of it into a bag and brought it to Luna afterward.

She said she wasn't very hungry and only ate a little bit.

Soon Luna grew drowsy and Locke put a movie on before going to sleep.

Day-3-Sunday
Miss a day where absolutely nothing interesting happened.

Day-4-Monday
The next morning the alarm went off at 6.45 AM. Luna got up to raise the moon but Locke laid on the mattress groaning.

"What's wrong?" asked Luna.

"It's a school day." replied Locke.

"And?" she asked as she finished lowering the moon.

Locke said "And I hate school days. Wait, what are we going to do? You can't stay here."

"Don't worry. Stay still." Her horn lit up and Locke's vision was tinted blue for a second.

"There, now only you can see me. I'm invisible to everypony else. But it will only last for 10 hours and I can only do it once a day."

"Hang on. Your legs are healed?"

"More or less I still can't walk for more than a few minutes. Maybe I can come to school with you." she said as she went into the bathroom to brush her teeth.

"Wait, you want to come to school with me?" said Locke surprised.

"Well I can't stay here. The spell only works if you are nearby. Your mum will find me." he heard her say from the bathroom, her voice muffled from the toothpaste.

She finished brushing her teeth and walked out of the bathroom.

"When do you go to school?"

"In a few minutes. I just have to pack my bag."

After Locke packed his bag they went downstairs.

He was very nervous so when Luna knocked something over and his mum asked "Did you knock that over?" he panicked a little.

"Uh... Yeah. Still a little tired."

So his mum didn't see Luna, the spell had worked after all.

When they were waiting for the bus Luna said
"How will we get to school?"

Locke replied "The bus will be here soon."

The bus arrived and when they got on it Luna's tail almost got caught in the door.

On the bus Luna looked around in amazement "I have never seen anything like it. A vehicle that moves on its own that isn't a train or assisted with magic."

"It's called a bus, there are other things too. Like that." Locke pointed as they passed a car.

"That's called a car. Also, can other people hear you when you're like that?"

"I don't think so." said Luna.

So to test her theory she leaned over and yelled into the person on the rows ear " HELLO! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!"

She she turned around and said "It appears not."

"So I look stupid then, talking to nothing." He looked over at her and saw her looking away.

"What's wrong?"

"You called me nothing." she mumbled.

"I meant that since others can't see you they'll think I'm talking to nothing. I didn't call you nothing." He said hastily.

"R...really?"

"Really." and gave her a hug (only afterwards did he realise how stupid that must have looked to everyone else on the bus).

When they got to school Locke handed up his assignment and Luna sat in the always unoccupied seat next to him.

The first lesson was maths and they where doing algebra.

He was stuck on a hard question and asked Luna for help. When she explained it it seamed really simple and easy to do.

Later it was recess and just before Locke about to bite into his food the class bully came over

"Hey, give me your food. Now!"

He didn't know what else to do so Locke handed over his food.

But just before the bully grabbed it he was surrounded by a dark blue energy and flung sideways.

He jumped up and yelled "What was that! How did you do that?!" and without waiting for an answer he ran off.

He looked at Luna, she had a satisfied smile on her face and said "He won't be giving you any more trouble."

"Uh...yeah, thanks."

Next Locke had a test in which you weren't allowed to talk or laugh. The annoying thing was that Luna kept making funny faces next to him.

So when he started to snicker everyone looked at him like he was mad.

"Luna, stop." he said under his breath. "You're going to get me into trouble."

Eventually she stopped and Locke could finish the test (with a little help from Luna).

At lunch they went to the library and started to read. Locke had brought a book for Luna to read and another book for himself.

To anyone looking it would look pretty strange for a book to move its pages on its own when, in fact, Luna was turning them.

Eventually they had to leave the library and go outside. Luna's legs where still hurting so they sat down on a bench.

Locke had to share his lunch of cheese and biscuits since she didn't have any food.

"Does the food disappear when you eat it or does it just hover there?" Locke asked Luna.

"It disappears unless I have my mouth open."

"Oh, okay."

After lunch Locke had English.

He had given his friend his sticky tape to fix his book but after a while Locke realised he wasn't going to give his tape back.

When he went over there and Luna had followed he asked to have his sticky tape back but his friend said "I'm still using it."

"No you're not. You're just sitting there, not doing anything. Can I have it back now?" Locke asked.

"Can I have it back now?" echoed someone else in the class mocking him.

"Give it back." said Locke, a little more forcefully.

"You stole it from the school." retorted his friend.

"No I didn't." said Locke.

"No I didn't." said someone else.

His friend picked up the sticky tape and and said "I can't fix my book in English."

"Why not?" Locke asked.

"I just can't."

"Why not?" mocked someone else.

Luna could see Locke was getting annoyed so she used her magic to pick up everyone who talked pencil cases and empty them.

Then she made the pencils and rulers hit them over the head. After about ten seconds it was all over.

Everyone looked surprised and his friend gave back the sticky tape. Locke looked at Luna and smiled.

After school they got on the bus and Locke asked "How long until the spell wears off?"

"Maybe 20 minutes." replied Luna.

"Just enough to get home then."

When they got off the bus and walked into the house Luna's image flickered.

"What was that?" asked his mum.

"What was what?" said Locke as he turned to see Luna run up the stairs.

"I swear I saw something. Oh, never mind. Did you have a good day at school?"

"Yeah I'll be back in a minute." he said on his way upstairs. When he got into his room Locke closed the door and locked it.

"What happened?" he said as he sat down.

"The spell dropped. That's why your mum thought she saw something. I was visible for a fraction of a second." said Luna wincing from running with her wounded legs.

"Do you want some painkillers?" asked Locke noticing her pain.

"No thanks. I have a spell to numb the pain." And her horn lit up. Then her face became a lot more relaxed. "That's better."

"Do have a spell to fix your legs?" said Locke.

"No, I only learned basic healing magic." replied Luna.

"I said I would go back down and talk to my mum for a bit. Do you want me to put the TV on?" said Locke as he got up.

"Yes, please." Luna got more comfortable on the bed.

When Locke went downstairs he walked into the living room to talk to his mum.

"How was your day?" his mum asked.

"Not bad. Someone tried to bully me into giving him my recess but I retaliated so he probably won't hassle me again." replied Locke thinking about the day that had just passed.

"Well good for you. You need to teach these bullies a lesson. Anyway dinner's at 6 o'clock."

"Okay. I'll be back for 6." And he went back upstairs.

When Locke was back in his room and had locked the door he asked Luna if she wanted to play a board game "What games do you have?"

1 hour later.

Luna had just smashed Locke on scrabble.

"Wow! You're great" Locke

"Thanks." replied Luna, blushing.

There was a yell from downstairs "Locke! Dinner!"

"There's mum. Do you want some dinner? We're having macaroni and cheese."

"Okay. Not to much though, I feel kind of sick."

Locke looked worried. "I'll get a thermometer while I'm down there. Do you want an cool towel or a hot water bottle?"

"Towel please."

Locke nodded and walked out the door.

Luna got back into bed and started talking to herself

"Why do I feel this way?" she asked herself.

"Do I like him? Yeah sure. In a friendly kind of way, but the other way? No! I can't! But the way he cared for me when I was hurt. And how he wants to care for me now.

Oh, my goodness. I DO like him that way. But he's a human and I'm a pony and I've only been here a few days. I can't love a human. Oh, what to do?"

Downstairs Locke was oblivious to what Luna was feeling. He was enjoying some macaroni and cheese.

He slipped some in a bag and got up.

Then he remembered to get an towel for Luna.

When he went back to his room he saw Luna on his bed asleep.

"Aw, she's so cute while she's asleep." He didn't wake her up but he put the cool towel on her head.

Locke couldn't risk turning on the TV because it might wake her up.

So he went back downstairs and washed up. After reading for a while he realised it was late and got up to go to bed.

However he was stopped by his mum "There's been something odd about you the last few days. What's up?"

"Nothing mum. You're just tired. But I am feeling a bit sick, so if you don't mind I'd like to go to bed." Locke walked up the stairs.

He said he was sick so he could stay home to look after Luna the next day while his mum was at work.
When he got to his room he replaced the towel on Luna's head and turned off the light.

Day-5-Tuesday
The next morning Locke's mum came in to ask why he wasn't up.

He replied "I'm not feeling too well. I told you I was sick last night."

"Hm. Okay, well you have to stay home and do small chores around the house while I'm at work."

"Okay. When will you be home?" Locke asked relived.

"Maybe 3 or 4 o'clock." His mum said.

"Okay, see you later."

"Bye." And his mum left.

Locke got out of bed when he heard his mum's car leaving and opened the door to the bathroom.

Luna walked out looking tired.

"So it worked?" She asked.

"Yes, it worked. Wait... are you okay?" Locke had realised that Luna looked a bit under the weather.

"I think I caught something overnight." She sneezed.

That made Locke worry. "Is it serious?" He asked.

"I don't think so." Luna sniffed as she got back into bed. "Just a runny nose and a minor headache."

"Anyway, Mum's gone and won't be back until 3 o'clock. She thinks I'm sick so I can look after you the whole day."

"Thanks. I know you have to miss school for this."

"It's okay. School isn't that fun anyway." Locke chuckled.
"Are you sure you're okay?"

"It's not too bad. My head feels like it's full of hay." Luna sneezed again. "I might have to spend most of the day resting. Sorry."

"It's okay. Take all the time you need. I'm going downstairs to get breakfast. Do you want anything?"

He looked at Luna as she was getting into bed.

"Can I have some water, please?"

"Sure. I'll be back in a minute." Locke said as he went downstairs.

As he got downstairs he went to open the fridge when he saw the list of chores his mum had set him.

He groaned "The things I do to help Luna."

As he got out the cereal and made some breakfast he thought he heard crying.

"Nah. I must be going crazy."

Then he grabbed an apple for Luna.

Meanwhile upstairs Luna was arguing with herself again.

"What do I do? I can't tell him. Oh but he just wants to help. He's done nothing but help since I got here.
But if I do tell him he might kick me out. What will I do then? Oh Celestia help me." She sobbed quietly as not to let Locke hear.

When Locke got back upstairs he sat down on the foot of the bed making Luna jump.

She had not realised he was in the room.

"Here." Locke said as he gave her the apple. "I know you're sick but you have to keep your strength up."

Luna took a small bite of the apple and slowly smiled.

"Better?" Locke asked, seeing the smile.

"Better." she replied.

"I'm going to have to do some stuff around the house. Will you be okay on your own?"

"I think so. Thanks." Luna coughed.

Suddenly the doorbell rang. Locke looked shocked.

"Mum said she wouldn't be back till 3. What's she doing home?"

He ran downstairs and opened the door.

He was surprised to see his shy and timid girlfriend, Emerald Sea, there.

"What are you doing here Emerald?"

"Oh... Uh... I hope you don't mind but when I was walking to school your mum drove past. I asked where you were. She said you where at home sick so I came to see if you were okay."
She looked away blushing.

"Aw. Thanks. Do you want to come in?" Locke asked.

"Um... If it's okay."

Emerald walked in. She went into the living room and sat down.

"How was your holiday? Would you like some water?" Locke asked.

"Yes please. Oh, and the holiday was fun but it's good to be back" she replied.

He got up and went into the kitchen. Emerald came to the door and asked "Um... Locke, if you're sick you should be in bed."

"I, uh... I was just getting some breakfast when you got here." Locke pretended to cough.

He just hoped it was convincing.

"Okay. You go and get in bed and I'll make some breakfast for you. You're ill and shouldn't be doing this on your own." pleaded Emerald.

Locke tried to argue but he just couldn't say no to those big puppy dog eyes. "Okay you got me. I'll go and get into bed. See you in a few minutes."

He walked upstairs.

As soon as he got to his room he said to Luna "There's good news and bad news."

She thought for a second and said "Good news please." and she sneezed.

"It wasn't mum at the door."

"And the bad news?" Luna looked worried.

"My girlfriend Emerald Sea was there instead."

"G...Girlfriend?" She looked shocked and a little teary.

But then she looked at Locke and asked "How come I didn't see her at school?"

"She was on holiday for 2 weeks."

They jumped as they heard a crash from downstairs.

Locke rushed downstairs and ran into the kitchen. He saw Emerald kneeling on the floor, crying, with kitchen utensils scattered around her.

The draw that they where in was on the floor.

He walked over to her and hugged her close.

"Hey, hey. What happened?"

"I... I tried to get the draw open but it was stuck. I pulled harder and it burst open, making a loud smash as everything fell to the floor." She sobbed.

Locke calmed her down. He knew she didn't like loud noises.

"Come and sit down in the living room." He

walked her to the sofa and she sat down. Once she had calmed down she said "I better pick up the things I dropped."

"No it's okay. I'll do it." Locke walked into the kitchen and picked everything up.

"Thanks, but you should be getting back to bed. I'll bring your breakfast up in a minute."

Emerald suddenly looked concerned and ushered Locke upstairs.

When Locke opened the door Luna looked up from the bed in surprise but then relaxed as she saw who it was.

"So, what happened?"

"Oh, Emerald dropped some stuff. It's all fixed now."

"E... Emerald is staying?" Luna looked worried.

"It's okay. She won't be up here for a few minutes. In the meantime what are we going to do? Could you do the invisibility spell again?"
Luna tried and put all her strength into it but her horn just flickered.

"I don't have the strength." she said, breathing heavily like she had just run a race.

Suddenly the door opened and there was Emerald, her eyes wide in shock.

"Crap." muttered Locke.

Emerald just stood there looking shocked then terrified.

Then she collapsed.

"Emerald!" Locke cried and rushed over to her.

He knelt down and checked her pulse, she was alive but had knocked herself unconscious. Luna got out of bed and walked over to them and she looked concerned.

"Can you help me get her into bed?" Locke asked.
He picked Emerald up (with some help from Luna) and put her on the bed.
They spent the next few hours just doing random stuff. Luna went to rest on the sofa and Locke was at Emerald's side, wiping her head with a cool cloth.

After about 3 hours Emerald woke up and saw Locke looking at her with concern.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Not really. My head hurts." She winced and rubbed her temple.

"What time is it?"

"A little past 1 o'clock." Locke said. "Do you want some water?" he asked, thinking about her hurt head.

"Yes please."

"Okay. Be back in a minute."

Locke walked downstairs and gently shook Luna awake.

"Huh? What? What time is it?" She asked, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.

"About 1 o'clock." Locke knelt down in front of her. "So, what are we going to do?"

"Do about what?" Luna asked, looking puzzled.

"About Emerald. Do you want to come and say hello?"

"I don't know. I mean, you saw how she acted last time. What if she does the same thing again, or tries to attack me?"

"She wouldn't do that. She's a sweetheart."

Luna thought for a few seconds. "Okay, I'll go and say hello."

They walked back upstairs and Locke motioned for Luna to wait when he went inside.

He slowly opened the door and looked in.

Emerald was in bed reading a book. Locke slowly walked up to her and said "Hey, how are you feeling? I got you some water."

"Th-thanks, my head still hurts." Locke looked worried.

"There's someone I want you to meet." He opened the door and Luna walked in, somewhat nervous.

Emerald squeaked "What is that?"

"Not what, who. Her name is Luna. She crash landed outside. I have no idea how she survived but she's been staying here for the last 5 days."

He waited for it to sink in.

Eventually, Emerald asked "Is-is she dangerous?"

"No, I'm not." Luna mumbled.

Emerald nearly fell out of the bed.

"Aahhh! She can talk?! How can she talk?!"

Luna looked offended. "Of course I can talk. I come from a world called Equestria and I'm stuck here."

Emerald took a few seconds to let it sink in.

Then she gasped "Oh! You poor thing. Is there anything I can do to help?"

Locke smiled as Emeralds instinct to help animals kicked in.

"Not unless you know anything about magical inter-dimensional travel."

"Oh, uh. Sorry, I don't know anything about that."

Luna looked disappointed. "Well it was worth a shot."

"I did find something in a book though." Locke grabbed the book and showed Emerald the section about the "unknown element".

"We talked about it a few days ago and we think the unknown element might be magic." Locke said as he thought back to that day.

"B-but that's impossible. Magic doesn't exist." Emerald looked disbelieving.

"Oh, really?" Luna's horn up and the book was surrounded by a blue aura.
Then she levitated the book over to Emerald and spun in around a few times.

"Believe in magic now?" Luna asked.

"Um, yes. Wh-what else can you do?" Emerald looked curious.

"Not much at the moment." She coughed. "I'm afraid I'm quite sick and the sickness is draining my strength."

"Oh! Is there anything I can do to help?. Wait, I know what to do. Locke, can you please go downstairs and get a damp cloth and a hot water bottle. I'll go make her some soup."

Emerald turned back to Luna. "Would you like some tomato soup?"

Luna looked like she was about to sneeze. "Y-yes please."

Locke and Emerald went downstairs and got to work.

"What do you think is wrong with her?" Locke asked her.

"Oh! Um...I'm not sure but it looks like the common cold, but I could be wrong. I'd don't know how those ponies work. It could be an illness from her world."

Locke spent the rest of the day looking up more about the magic element while Emerald was looking after Luna.

Suddenly Locke heard a car driving up the driveway.

He ran upstairs and into his room.

"Mum's home! You have to get out quick!"

Emerald looked scared. "H-how do I get out?" She asked.

"Through the back door, go the long way around. Mum won't even know you where here."

She gulped but nodded. "Okay, wish me luck. Bye."

"Good luck." And with that she was gone.

Locke walked downstairs and saw his mum in the kitchen making dinner.

"Hi mum. Have a good day at work?"

"You could say that. I got into a little argument with one of my clients, but other than that nothing interesting happened. But I do have a surprise for you."

"Really? What is it?" questioned Locke.

"We're going to the city." "When?"

"This weekend." replied his mother.

He thought about it, then "That's cool. Will we go to the pool?"

"Of course."

Locke needed to tell Luna so he quickly excused himself and ran to his room.

"Luna, there's a problem."

Luna looked at him, confused. "What is it?"

"My mum said we're going into the city on the weekend." She looked surprised, then worried.

"But I thought your mum thought you where ill?"

"She does but I'm usually fine in a few days."

Luna thought for a moment. "Maybe I could stay at Emeralds house." she said.
Locke looked surprised.

"How would you even get there?"

"By the weekend I should be well enough to preform my invisibility spell again."

"Are you sure? I don't want you pushing yourself too hard." Locke said, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Luna blushed and looked away. "Don't worry, I won't." she mumbled.

"Anyway, dinner's in an hour. Do you want some?" Locke asked, curious as to why she was acting like this.

"Only a little bit, thanks."

Before leaving Locke replaced the towel on Luna's forehead. Then he got a glass of water from downstairs.

"Here you go." He said putting it on the stand next to the bed.

"Thanks." replied Luna.

She looked tired so Locke closed the curtains and left the room to let her sleep.

Day 6

Day-6-Wednesday
The next morning Locke was awoken by the sunlight streaming into the room.

Uhh... To bright... Wait what? Why is the sun up?

While Locke thought about it he felt something soft lying next to him.

He turned over and saw Luna lying there. She had her wings wrapped around herself like a cocoon.

He was surprised, but not unpleasantly so. He did what any rational, sensible boy would do in this position.

He thought about waking her up.

Nah, she needs to sleep. I'll wake her up later.

Locke got up carefully and crept downstairs to make breakfast.

He was surprised to see his mum in the living room; she was watching TV.

"Good morning." She said. "Are you feeling better today?"

Locke let out an slightly unconvincing fake cough.

"Not really."

"Well, you better be well enough to to to the city this weekend." his mum said as she got into a more comfortable position.

"Yeah, I hope so too." Lock went into the kitchen and made a sandwich and a bowl of cereal.

He went back to his room and saw Luna still sleeping. He went to her side and gently shook her awake.

"Morning sleepyhead. Rise and shine."

"I don't shine. My moon glows." Luna mumbled as she covered her head with her wings.

"Oh, I guess you don't want breakfast then?" Locke placed the sandwich on the table. He then turned on the TV and sat on the bed.

Luna shivered as she sat up. "It's cold." She wrapped her wings around herself and ducked back under the covers.

"Here." Locke turned on the heater. It took a minute to warm up the room.

"That's better. Thanks. I'm feeling a lot better today, by the way." She walked over the the bedside table and ate the sandwich in a few bites. She then sat down to watch TV.

Lock went to the wardrobe, grabbed some clothes and went into the bathroom. After a few minutes his mum knocked on the door. Luna jumped and hid under the bed. "Locke! I'm going to work now! I'll be home by 5 o'clock!" Locke's mum yelled.

"Okay! Goodbye!" Locke yelled back. He finished his shower and went back into his room.

"That was a close one." Luna exclaimed. "I thought she was going to come in."

"Nah, she wouldn't come in if I was in the shower, in case I had the door open." Locke informed her.

"If you say so. So what are you going to do today?" She hopped on the bed and looked at the TV, which was playing some morning cartoons.

"Well I was thinking about going to the library to search for anything about the "mysterious element"." He said as he tapped his chin thoughtfully. Should I talk to her about this morning? Nah, later.

No! Don't leave me! She desperately wanted him to stay but she instead said "Well... Can you make it quick today? Please?"

Aww, she looks so cute like that. How can I say no? "Okay I'll be quick."

As Locke was on his way to the library, Luna sat at home, alone. She decided to try to look around because while she had been here for almost a week she hadn't explored the whole house. She went into the hallway and towards one of the doors.

Inside was another bathroom. At first Luna thought that it was the same as in Locke's room but then she realised that there was a bath. She felt herself get exited at the thought of having a nice, warm bath. They were her favourite way to get clean back in Equestria. I wonder if Locke would run me a bath when he gets back? I hope so.

Luna left the room and closed the door. Then she chose another door and went into the room.

Oh! This must be his mothers room. I should stay out of here. She closed the door.

There was one last door. She had somewhat high hopes about this door. So hoping there was something interesting behind it, she opened the door.

It was just the boiler room.

Luna huffed in annoyance. Then she turned and went back to Locke's room.

She heard her stomach grumble. She was still hungry.

Luna went downstairs and into the kitchen to make herself something to eat. This was when she saw a poster advertising a party. Why is that there? She wondered. Is Locke's mum planning a party?
This could be bad.

Soon Locke was back.

As he walked in the door Luna came out of the kitchen with a worried look on her face. As soon as she saw Locke she went back to smiling.

Hm, I wonder what's up with her? Locke thought.

"Hi Locke." She said in a somewhat quiet voice.

"Hi Luna. Look, I found something. The closest and most recent event happened two weeks ago, in the shopping centre. I remember that they had to shut down the whole place." Locke smiled, glad that they had gotten closer to the truth.

Luna smiled more brightly. "Okay. That's good." Then she went back to a more nervous state.

"Umm... I was wondering if you could ehh give me a bath?" She asked at a whisper.

"Sorry, what was that?" Locke asked not hearing her properly.

"Couldyoupleasegivemeabath?" Luna asked quickly with her eyes closed, a slight blush gracing her cheeks.

Locke looked confused for a second then smiled and chuckled "Of course I'll give you a bath. All you had to do was ask. Do you want it hot or cold?"

"Hot please." Luna said, almost crying with happiness. This was one of the nicest things anyone have done for her.

"Okay, it'll be ready in about 10 minuets." Locke started to walk upstairs then stopped and turned around, "Almost forgot, do you want bubbles?"

"Yes please." She looked so happy Locke couldn't help but smile as he went up the stairs.

Luna walked into the living room and began to lay down on the sofa. When she was comfortable she sighed. "This isn't helping. It's just make ping me love him more." She sighed again.

10 minuets later

"Luna! The bath is ready!" Locke called down.

"Okay!" Luna slowly walked up the stairs.

When she was in the bathroom she saw the bath Locke had prepared her. It was incredible! The were tons of bubbles that smelled like strawberries and it was steaming hot.

"I didn't know how hot you wanted it so I can put some more cold water in if you want." Locke smiled at her as he sat in the chair next to the bath.

"Thank you!" Luna exclaimed as she hugged him.

No! Stop! This isn't good. This will make it worse! Luna thought as she hugged him. She quickly pulled away causing Locke to look at her, confused.

She brought out a stool with her magic and climbed on it. She then dipped her hoof into the water to test it. Perfect. Luna slowly slipped into the bath.

She sighed in content and closed her eyes. This is nice.

Luna jumped in surprise when she felt something slowly rubbing her back. She looked over her shoulder to see Locke massaging her back slowly. She blushed and looked away. Then she felt him go in between her wing joints which caused her to sigh again.

Locke slowly worked his way up to her shoulders and neck. I had no idea that I could do this, he thought.

Soon Luna had fallen asleep so Locke made sure that she wouldn't slip under the water and left the room. Okay, she should be fine for now, he thought as he sat at the computer and began doing some research.

When Luna woke up she immediately noticed that Locke was gone. The second thing she noticed was that the water was a bit cold and decided to get out.

Once she was mostly dry she used her magic to pull out the plug and walked out of the bathroom. She saw Locke sitting at the computer. She walked past him and sat down on the sofa.

Locke turned to look at Luna, "Okay, I have to tell you something. I found a flyer for a party on the table. It says that it is going to be here, in this house." He looked quite worried.

"Yeah, I saw it earlier but I didn't want to say anything while you were giving me a bath." she said, hopping onto the floor once more.

"Uh, yeah... So, did you like it? The bath I mean." He said blushing.

"It was amazing. I've never been massaged by fingers before. My sister has though. The minotaur at the salon was scary." Luna shivered as she walked into the kitchen and used her magic to open one of the draws. She was going to do what she had never had to do herself before.

She was going to make a sandwich.

Anyway, back to the party.

"So what are we going to do? I can't stay in my room the whole time. And you can't stay there on your own either, what if someone comes up?" Locke said.

"I could use the invisibility spell again. But then I wouldn't be able to use it to get to Emerald's house." Luna said, as she got out the bread.

Locke thought for a minute and suddenly came up with an idea. "So you see, it's not exactly a kids party. It's a party with alcohol that goes on until 5 in the morning. I usually go to a friends house but I'm allowed to stay home if I want. If you want to see the party yourself we can just wait until everyone is too drunk to recognise another human and take a look around."

"I don't know. It seems kind of dangerous. What if someone isn't that drunk? Or someone comes up early?" She worried as she sat on the sofa to eat her L.T (lettuce and tomato) sandwich.

"I'll scout out the party to see if anyone isn't drunk. If someone isn't I'll kick them out. And if someone comes up early then you can hide in the bathroom until I shoo them away. Ok?" Locke surprised himself with how fast he came up with good plans for each scenario.

"So when is the party anyway?" Luna said with her mouth half full of food.

"The flyer said Friday, so we have two days to prepare." Locke said, who was starting to feel a bit more relaxed now that they had a plan.

Suddenly Luna started gasping and writhing and fell to the floor. Her coat flickered to black in some places and her wings, which were usually covered in soft looking feathers, started to become longer and sharp like blades. Locke quickly leaped to her side and tried to figure out what was happening to her.

Slowly she went started to look normal again, though it took a while for her to stop gasping. When Luna had calmed down Locke realised that she had fallen asleep. He carefully carried her up the stairs to his room. When he placed her on his bed he checked her temperature.

Odd. Locke thought, her temperature is normal.

He quickly ran downstairs and filled a cup of water. He placed it on the bedside table and, without thinking, kissed Luna on the forehead. What...? Why did I just do that? Locke could feel his face getting hot, Whoa, calm down Locke. Just go downstairs and forget what just happened. She doesn't need to know.

When Luna woke up she was hit with a headache like none other. When it started to recede she noticed some things about the room. She wasn't in the living room anymore; she was in Locke's room! How did I get here? She wondered, The last thing I remember is a spike of pain and then the laughter... that horrible laughter. She shivered under the covers. Luna saw the glass of water on the bedside table and drank it. It didn't do much to help her still pounding headache but it did help to wake her up a bit more.

After a few minutes of lying in bed Luna slowly climbed out and walked downstairs, looking for Locke. She as she passed the clock she saw that it was 4 o'clock. Luna found Locke on the computer researching mountains for some reason.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Locke jumped so hard that he fell off of his chair. "Who... Wha? Luna? Oh thank goodness you're okay!" He rushed over to her and wrapped her in a tight embrace. Then he pulled off her and held her at arms length. "You are okay, right?" He asked, worried.

"I don't know. What happened? All I remember is a flash of pain and then I blacked out." She said as she laid down on the floor, her muscles weren't strong enough to hold her up for long.

"You started gasping and fell to the floor. Then your coat started to turn black and your wings looked like they were sharp. Then you kind of just... went back to normal." Locke explained, trying to remember if there was anything he forgot.

"Oh no! NO NO NO! That sounds just like what happened to me before. When I turned into Nightmare Moon!" She started sobbing and wrapped her wings around herself.

"Nightmare Moon?" Locke questioned.

"That's why I was fighting my sister, Celestia." She sighed. "I might as well tell you now. My sister and I ruled the land of Equestria. She controlled the sun and I controlled the moon..."

Luna explained the events leading up to her crash landing in Lockes garden. Soon it was almost 5 o'clock and Locke's mum came back from work.

"Good afternoon Locke. Did you have a good day?" She asked as the placed her bags of the table.

"Not bad, apart from the cold." Locke lied as he coughed.

"Yes, well I'm sure you've seen the poster. I'm having a party on Friday. As usual you can stay in you're room or mingle with the other guests." She looked him dead in the eye, as if she knew something.

"Yep. Got it. Thanks" Locke said as he quickly scrambled up the stairs. He didn't like that look in her eye.

"Oh by the way, what are we having for dinner?" He said as he poked his head back down the stairs.

"Chinese noodles. I bought some from one of the shops in town."

"Okay, thanks." Locke carried on upstairs.

He entered his room to find Luna asleep so he decided to let her rest and get her some food later.
