Somewhere on earth in a secret facility scientists and military personnel are hard at work creating the ultimate weapon.
"As you can see gentleman we perfected the DNA bonding process what you see before you is the ultimate bio-engineered weapon,", said one of the scientists.
"That's surprising though you took five years and eight hundred million dollars to make something no bigger than a newborn baby," yelled a high-ranking soldier, possibly a Colonel or General.
"Well, sir as you can see we took the DNA of the strongest and deadliest predators from the past and present this world has to offer," The same scientist stated with a smug look.
Another scientist quietly asked his associate under his voice," You think we should tell them we used human DNA as the bonding catalyst Doctor Sombra?"
"Keep your mouth shut if they find out we lose our funding and get sent to prison,"
"As I was saying the reason, the prototype is still in its infant stage is because we have not activated the accelerated growth program".
"When completed we will be able to pump out full-grown loyal and lethal soldiers. Now gentlemen allow me to introduce Project X-11257 Code Named Darwin," With that Doctor, Sombra pressed a button on the wall to open a screen.
Looking inside the room the group saw nothing.
"What's the meaning of this! Is this some kind of joke doctor?"
Just then alarms went off. A soldier comes running up to the group," Sir we have a breach in security one of the scientist was seen on camera leaving the facility with files and what looked like a baby wrapped in a blanket."
"Did you identify them?"
"Yes, sir it was Doctor Celestia Everfree."
"Well don't just stand there go get her now!"
Outside in the woods Doctor Everfree, was running for her life carrying a small form in one arm and files in the other.
Thinking to herself out loud, "Please GOD help me this child was brought into this world unnaturally, but it is still a child please, please help me".
With that, a loud bang was heard and a sharp burning pain was felt in Everfree's abdomen. She knew that she was just shot. Stopping in a small clearing falling to her knees. She held the baby close to her chest tears fell down her face.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't save you maybe God will forgive me even though I tried and failed. Remember mommy will always love you, my little Angel."
At that moment a large blanket of blue fog formed around the woman then there was a flash of bright light and the fog the woman and the infant all disappeared.
Equestria
Looking out over the balcony Princess Celestia stood saddened it has been almost a thousand years since Princess Luna's banishment. The loneliness she felt kept eating away at her heart. As she stood there Celestia sensed a large flux of magical energy. Looking out over the land she saw a bright flash of light coming from the Everfree Forest. Spreading her wings she took off quickly to investigate the phenomenon. Upon landing in the clearing Celestia began to carefully scan the area. Within moments she came upon a figure in a white lab coat. Cautiously she walked up to the form sniffing the air around it. The figure stirred causing her to jump back in shock. Rolling over the figure looked up at Celestia.
"Thank you GOD for answering my prayers, please take the baby keep him safe and loved". Hearing the voice Celestia could tell the creature was a female possibly the infant's mother.
Hearing the last breath of the female she knew the creature was dead lowering her head to inspect the child. It had almost no fur except for the top of its head that was silver the skin color was a light gray, and the eyes were the deepest blue. Looking up at Celestia the baby smiled and try to reach its little claws out to touch her muzzle. Smiling at the baby Celestia made a coo sound and the child giggled at this. Spotting a large folder near the body she used her magic to levitate it close to her.
"This must be important information about you little one," she said looking at the baby.
In a flash of light, she teleported the folder to her chambers back at the castle. Then she carefully levitated the blanket wrapped child onto her back between her wings to keep it safe. After that, she looked down at the body of the female creature.
"I can't leave it here like this for the beasts of the forest".
Using her magic once more Celestia created a simple grave for the body using a stone as a marker. Turning around Celestia notice a large number of the beasts of the forest have gathered. She could identify all of the Timberwolves, Manticores, Chimera, and hydras. Lowering herself it to a fighting stance Celestia calls out in her Canterlot voice "YOU WILL NOT HARM THIS CHILD"!
The monsters stop for just one second before they started to move in closer. At that moment crying could be heard from the baby. Hearing this all the creatures stopped in their tracks. Turn her head to look at the baby seeing her face it stops crying and smiles at her and starts to make a happy gurgling noise. Turning back to the threat in front of her, she was surprised to see all of the creatures lying down on the ground not moving turning back to the baby.
Celestia smiled," So do you have mastery over the beast of the forest little one"?
Looking back at the beast seeing them disappear back into the forest. Extending her wings Celestia flew back to Canterlot Castle."All the time thinking this child is special, I can sense great power in it and a heart as pure as the first snowfall. I will raise him as my own. When he grows he will be a great protector and a greater ruler."
"Welcome to Equestria my son". Celestia said with a huge smile on her muzzle.
As Celestia lands on her balcony, she quietly walks into her bed-chamber. Stopping next to the bed she carefully levitates the small child from her back onto the center of the bed.
"All right now let us see what you look like little one." She says in her motherly tone.
Using her hoofs she carefully removes the blanket that the baby was wrapped in. She could finally find out the full extent of the infant's appearance. Its mane was almost a translucent silver the skin a light gray like fine ash. Looking on Celestia noticed that it had small nubs on top of its head possibly horns. What surprised her was a tail about half the length of the body swinging back and forth. Her examination was cut short by the sound of the baby fussing.
"Oh, there-there I'm here little one."She said nuzzling the baby.
Upon hearing the cries Celestia's pet phoenix Philomena flies down from her perch landing on the bed next to the baby.
"What is it, girl?" Celestia asks her pet.
The Phoenix looks up at her owner then back to the fussing baby. Lowering her head she opens her mouth to deposit a small amount of birdseed next to the baby's head.
Cocking her head, Celestia looks at her pet than at the baby." Is he hungry, is that what he told you, girl?"
The Phoenix just chirped and nodded her head as she flew back to her perch.
"So you can speak to animals, my precious angel."She said as she nuzzled him once more.
Thinking for a moment Celestia climbed off the bed. Placing a soundproof spell around the baby she walked to her chamber doors. Opening them to see a guard to the left. Getting the guard's attention.
"Yes, your Highness?" The guard called out.
"I want you to go to the kitchen and bring me a warm glass of milk," Celestia said in a commanding tone.
The guard looked at her for a moment before bowing and trotted away.
Closing the door behind her Tai (yes I'm calling her that for now)trotted over to her closet looking through a large box." Ah, here it is I'm glad I kept the bottles that Luna and I had when we were still foals," She said to herself.
Moments later a knock was heard at her door.
"Your Majesty." A voice called from the other side of the door." Your order of milk is here."
Tai opens the door just enough to pass her head through. Using her magic she levitates the glass before quickly shutting the door behind her. Walking back to her bed she uses her magic to transfer the milk from the glass to the bottle. Levitating the bottle Tia carefully climbed back onto the bed bringing the baby into her front hooves she brought the bottle down to its mouth. Gripping the bottle with its hands the baby pulled the nipple to its mouth and began to drink. Seconds later it pushed the bottle away and began showing a disgruntled expression.
"Come now little one you must eat something," Tia said as she attempted to give the baby the bottle again. And again the baby pushed it away and turned its head refusing to drink. With an aggravated huff Tia levitated the bottles over to her desk. Looking down at the infant once more Tia sighed deeply.
"What are we to do you need to eat little one." She said as she laid there still holding the baby in her front hooves.
Then an idea hit her if it will not nurse from a bottle maybe it will nurse naturally. Place in the infant back onto the bed Tia moved over to her bookshelf and began looking for a particular book. Upon finding it she levitated it to her desk. Opening the book to a certain page she carefully read the spell over and over to make sure there were no mistakes. Closing the book and replacement back on the shelf Tia began concentrating. Her horn began to glow focusing the magic she cast the spell in doing so light emanated from beneath her near and between her thighs where her teets were located. There was a faint glow and a sense of warmth emanating from that region seconds later the spell dissipated and Tia could feel that her teets were full of milk as they began to dribble down the inner part of her thighs. As quickly and carefully as possible she climbed back onto the bed positioning herself so that the baby was close to her leaking teets. Tia watched in amazement as the baby sniffs the air and began moving itself to its free meal. With a startled gasp Tia watched and felt as the baby grabbed hold and latched on with its mouth to her teat and began to drink. The content smile on her face quickly disappeared as the realization of what was happening kicked in. Looking over at her desk she saw the folder and began to wonder what secrets it held. Knowing full well from which you read earlier even with her extensive knowledge it still remained elusive. Deciding there was only one course of action Tia levitated a parchment quill and inkwell to her and began to write a letter to the one pony she knew that can help her.
Dear Professor Globe Trotter
You are the foremost expert in the study of known and unknown species of life in Equestria and all of Equis.
I am writing this letter to seek your aid in solving a mystery.
I request your presence to discuss and determine the origin of a certain creature.
Most importantly I ask that you keep this information secret for the time being.
For I do not believe that the existence of this creature should be released to public knowledge at this time.
I am sending along a royal seal to allow you access to the castle without the guards impeding your movements.
As I said before the knowledge you will receive must remain secret you cannot tell anypony of what you see or learn under penalty of punishment.
I implore you to quickly arrive.

Tia cringed at the thought of calling this innocent baby a creature. Shaking her head of such thoughts she used her magic to place the quill and inkwell back on her desk. As she rolled up the scroll and teleport it to its destination. Knowing full well that Professor Trotter never leaves the university except when he is off on one of his adventures. She remembered noticing a cot in the back of his office one day when she visited the University. Her thoughts were brought back from the feeling of the baby switching to her other teat. Letting out a content sigh while watching the infant feed she wondered if this was how her mother felt while she took care of Luna and her when they were foals. This thought brought a tear to her eyes knowing that her sister was still banished to the moon. Tia's thoughts were brought back to the present again by the sound of the baby fussing looking down she saw that its little belly was full of milk. Once again casting the soundproof spell she brought the infant into her front hooves placing it over her shoulder. Patting its back gently she waited for the inevitable burp but what surprised her was the tremendous belch that emanated from the baby's mouth. Luckily the barrier was up otherwise Tia believed the entire castle would've heard that thunderous noise. Bringing the child back down into the front of her she looks upon the face of the happy infant as it smiles up at her. Cooing as it once again tried to reach with its tiny hands to her muzzle deciding to allow the baby some leeway. She leans down as the baby took hold of her muzzle bringing its own head up its kissed her on the nose. Tia was surprised that this action she couldn't believe that something so young could demonstrate a form of affection such as that. She returned the affection by lightly kissing it on its cheek and then began blowing raspberries on its small tummy. Hearing the child laugh caused Tia's own heart to soar.
The realization had struck her that time had slipped by looking at the clock on her wall she realized it was time to lower the moon and raise the sun. Placing the baby back down on the bed she carefully removed herself stepping to the doors of her balcony. Turning back to look at the baby with a smile on her face.
"Would you like to watch Mommy work?" She said with a giddiness using the word mommy.
The baby watched in awe as Celestia magically open the doors to her balcony. Stepping out she stood there for a moment closing her eyes and focusing her magic her horn began to glow. Even from the vantage point of the bed, the baby could see as his new mommy began to float in the air. Blinking with an innocent expression on its face the baby watched as the moon descended past the horizon and the sun began to show its brilliance.
After her little display, Celestia landed back onto the balcony and turned to reenter the room. Closing the doors behind her she walks over to the edge of the bed and looks down at the baby.
"So my little one did you like the show?" She said as she leaned in closer.
Looking from the doors back to her the baby only giggled. This response caused Tia to laugh as well. "I am so happy that you liked it my little one." She said as she began to nuzzle the baby's cheek as it still giggled. Moments later a small yawn escaped from the baby Tia looks down and sees its eyes begin to flutter. "Oh, I see someone is tired now that you've been up all night so that's understandable sleep well my little one." She said as she wrapped the baby in its blanket and placed them at the head of the bed.
Celestia carefully got up from the bed and walk to her bathroom where she could clean herself and make herself more presentable. If she would have remained for a few moments more Celestia would have noticed a strange event happening to the babyfur began to grow all over the body as its a small patch of hair on top of its head grew to resemble a true mane yet it continued down from its head along its entire back and a crossed its tail ending in a small tuft of hair. What she would also have witnessed was the appearance of two small growths on its back that closely resembled newborn Pegasus wings. Luckily it was the weekend so she did not have to leave her room or deal with those pesky nobles in day court. As she returned to her bedchamber she was about to climb onto the bed when a knock was heard at her door. Wondering who would disturb her at this early hour she preceded to the door. Hearing the knock again a voice came from the other side.
"Your majesty sorry for disturbing you at this early hour but there is a unicorn here who says you had summoned him." Came the voice of one of the guards outside her door.
A little surprised at the news a smile crept a crossed her face." I did not think he would show up this early?" She thought to herself as she made her way to the door. Using her magic she opened the door to greet an older unicorn whose mane was quite disheveled wearing a pair of glasses that appeared to be quite thick. Upon his back, his saddlebags were overstuffed with papers.
"Ah Professor Trotter it is good to see you yet I did not expect you to arrive at this hour," Celestia said as she moved to the side to allow the old unicorn to enter her room.
With a bow and slight grumble, the unicorn looked between the two guards before entering the princess's private chambers. After entering Celestia used her magic to close the door once again and she erected a soundproof barrier. Needless to say, this confused the old stallion.
"Well your highness when I received that letter of yours explaining about an unknown creature I became ecstatic so I hurried over to speak with you about it," Trotter said in a garbled but professional voice.
"Yes up about that I would prefer you not to refer to him as a creature," Celestia said as she began to walk back toward her bed. Stopping at her desk first. "Everything you need to know about him is in this folder a request that you read it to better understand the circumstances." She said as she levitated the folder to the unicorn who took it in his own magic.
Opening the folder Trotter began reading but unknown to most his ability to gather information through the written word surpassed anyone's expectations. Able to read the entire collection of the Encyclopedia Equestria within one hour. (Just so you know that's twenty volumes with over a hundred million words in each volume so the guy can read fast) After reading the entire folder Trotter placed it on the floor in front of him sitting down on his flanks. He blinked his eyes in amazement at what he had read. Clearing his throat he began to speak. "Princess, do you realize what you have here?" He said gesturing with a hoof towards the folder in front of him.
"I must apologize I did try to read some of it but yet I was lost on key points to it could you explain?" Celestia said as she continued her way toward the end of her bed.
"What you have here is a scientific marvel of a being that is." Stopping for a moment to clear his mind Trotter began to explain again. Tell me Princess do you know the work of Professor Gene Splicer?" He asked her waiting for a reply.
"No, I did not believe so." She said with an inquisitive response.
"Professor Splicer is the mare that successfully proven that all life possesses a single trait that she had dubbed DNA." He said waiting for this new information to sink in before he continued. " As I was saying this DNA is the building blocks of life all life has it from a blade of grass to yourself. But the larger the life form is the more complex its DNA is." He said before taking a breath to continue." I'm not saying that a hydra is more complex than you or I they are merely just overgrown reptiles. "He said trying to clarify his last statement.
Absorbing this information the princess nodded for him to continue.
"As I was saying the being that this folder speaks of possesses multiple strands of DNA from some creatures that I've never even heard of as well as some that are actually quite familiar but the most important thing is I believe all of them are predatory." He said with a stern tone.
"Do you believe that he is dangerous?" Celestia said with a hint of fear in her voice after hearing the word predatory.
Oh no no no I don't believe he is dangerous at the moment you see as I was reading there were some notes explaining a form of mental conditioning." He said stopping for a moment to take a deep breath then preceded to explain his findings.
"There seems to be some sort of lock that will keep him docile until a situation is needed for the use of force. What is quite astonishing about this is, whoever created him actually inputted the knowledge of different forms of combat like you would program a machine," He said before Celestia interrupted him.
"Created, what do you mean by that?" Celestia said with a confused expression.
"Yes, your highness you see he wasn't born he was made artificially. And to be quite honest I believe he was made for one purpose." Trotter said as he used his magic to push his glasses back up onto our face.
"And what purpose would that be?" Celestia asked in a motherly but commanding tone.
"I believe he was made as a weapon of war everything that I have read points to it, the DNA the mental conditioning it all points to making the ultimate soldier," Trotter said as he tried to ease the princess's worried demeanor. "But please don't lose heart princess there are notes in this folder personal notes by one of the scientists that were involved and she explicitly states that the subject Darwin as she called him could actually lead a normal life given positive emotions and caring surroundings," Trotter said while trying to think of a positive way of explaining his understanding of the notes.
"So what you were speaking of is nature vs. nurture am I correct?" Celestia asked after listening to his explanation.
"Exactly that's exactly what I mean your highness, given loving and caring surroundings this individual's combat-oriented nature could be subdued to a point where it would only manifest itself in dire situations or in a controlled situation," Trotter said reassuring the princess.
"There are a few other things that I've discovered while reading your highness one you might find a little disturbing the scientist who wrote these notes, her name was Celestia Everfree," Trotter said trying to read the expression on the princess's face.
With this information, Celestia began to ponder that creature she saw in the forest was that the one that bears her name was that Celestia Everfree. Her thoughts were cut short as Trotter cleared his throat to gain her attention again.
"Princess, I know you did not summon me here just to read these notes is there something else you wish to discuss with me?" He said trying to gather all the information he could.
Looking from the bed to the stallion before her Celestia closed her eyes and began to explain the events." Last night I sensed a flux of unknown magic in the forest. Upon investigating I discovered a strange bipedal creature that appeared to have extensive wombs. Within its arms, it held that file as well as a small bundle of cloth. " Celestia said as she moved to the bed using her magic to uncover the baby.
To Trotter's amazement what he saw before he was astonishing there lying on the bed was an infant but unlike anything, he has ever seen before. Turning to look at the baby Celestia's eyes grew in shock upon seeing its appearance. Taking note of her expression Trotter moved up beside her.
"Princess is something the matter you look confused is something the matter with the infant?" Trotter said in a very concerned tone.
"Yes, he did not look like this when I found him. He was completely hairless except for a small patch on his head." Celestia said with fear that something terrible was happening to the baby.
Trotter moved to the side of the bed to get a closer look at the infant upon examining it he turned and levitated the folder to him and began scanning through the pages. Finding what he needed Trotter smiled and nodded to himself before he spoke. "You don't have anything to worry about Princess, I've looked over these notes again and it appears that the baby is merely following his genetic programming."
"Please explain to me what this genetic programming is?" Celestia asked still concerned about the baby.
"Evolutionary Adaptability simply put this baby was created to adapt to any environment instantly and if possible obtain DNA from any species he comes in contact with. May I ask how was he fed?" Trotter said in a blunt tone.
With a slight blush on her face, Celestia simply told him that she tried to feed the baby a bottle of milk but he wouldn't take it so she cast a spell upon herself to Lactaid for the child to drink.
Nodding his head as even listened Trotter deduced what had happened." I see now I understand you said before that he had no hair yet after his feeding it appears that he obtained some of your DNA which I believe caused him to grow a coat of fur and what appears to be small wings protruding from his back. Strange though that they appear as if they're both feathered and skin." Trotter said as he examined the infant closer. Shooting his head up in shock Trotter returns to look through the notes once more upon finding what he was looking for you close the folder and set it on the edge of the bed. Taking a few steps back he sat himself down on his hindquarters. Clearing his throat and focusing on the right words to say he looked at the princess did my eyes. " Princess there are a few things that you should know first within these notes it states that they used a bonding agent to combine all the DNA together the catalyst was human DNA." Before the princess could interrupt he lifted his hoof to stop her. "Allow me to finish as I was saying the catalyst was human DNA the DNA that was used was an unfertilized egg from the one called Celestia Everfree. There were some scholars that believe before it even the formation of the three tribes humans lived on Equis and then one day they'll simply disappear. No pony knows what happened to them but there are signs of they actually existed here in our history and culture there are remnants of human involvement. Those same scholars believe that that humans used genetic engineering to create life, artificial life and that life evolved into everything that has lived on Equis so far. That includes ponies know this is just a hypothesis but I do believe that this Celestia Everfree is a human counterpart to you that being said this child by all accounts genetically is your son. "Trotter said taking a deep breath after his long-winded explanation.
Receiving this shocking news Celestia stood there looking from the professor to the baby and slowly the words finally formed to leave her mouth." My son you mean to tell me that this baby could actually be my son?" The realization of those words hit Celestia hard enough for her to fall back on her hindquarters.
"It is just a hypothesis princess but if I took a blood sample from both of you, I could compare them to see if there is a genetic match but reading these notes I am strongly leaning towards the belief that he is. " the professor said smiling at the princess.
Shaking herself out of her stupor Celestia cleared her voice. "Yes, a blood test would be fine please set it up as soon as possible and I must remind you, professor, that everything you have seen and learned today must remain secret for the time being. And I ask if it is all possible that you become. "Stopping for a moment Celestia looks at the baby with a smile on her face. "If you will become Prince Darwin's personal Physician?"
"So you have already given him a name, can I ask why you chose Darwin?" Trotter said looking from her to the baby.
"I thought it would be appropriate since the other me had given him that name," Celestia said as she stood back up on her hooves holding herself in a regal pose.
Laughing a little bit Trotter turn to the princess and bowed. "Well since the young prince happens to be made up of all the different species that I know and some that I have not yet heard of and I am the foremost expert on known and unknown species and all of Equis it would be an honor your majesty beside this way I'll be able to figure out all the different species that reside in the young princes DNA," Trotter said with an over-exuberant show of excitement. "Oh yes, I just realized there are few things that you must consider princess. The first two things are to obtain a maid and a wet nurse that can be trusted and luckily I know a pony that fits both descriptions my niece Milky Way. And seconds is to figure out how to keep the new prince hidden from the public until his eventual debut. " He said sitting back down on his hindquarters with a worried look from the second thing he said.
"Yes I see your point but my personal guards are loyal and will keep the secret hidden until the time is right as for the maid position I think you but I do not understand why I would need a wet nurse?" Celestia said while she was contemplating and all the events that would unfold.
"The wet nurse is quite simple you won't be able to feed the prince when he requires it, do to your royal duties. And as I said my niece is certified with that as her special talent is producing milk." He said shrugging his shoulders.
Celestia nodded in agreement but two things still plagued her mind one should be able to solve quickly the other involved her new private student Twilight Sparkle and she would arrive Monday to begin her lessons. Looking to the professor Celestia asked. "This blood test you spoke of how would we go about collecting samples and how long would it take to verify?"
"Oh that's quite simple any small amount of blood would be sufficed and the amount of time an hour maybe two," Trotter said in a nonchalant way.
Seconds later Celestia's horn glowed as to small tissue papers floated in the direction of Trotter. The professor cocked an eyebrow looking a bit confused at this action until he noticed on each tissue a small sample of blood.
"Will these suffice for the test?" Celestia asked, hoping that the answer would be yes.
Looking at the samples Trotter nodded and took both into his own magic maintaining a small protective bubble around each one he place them inside the folder. "If you will not be needing me anymore at this time your highness I will take these two samples directly to the medical wing and have that test run immediately and I will also contact my niece and informed her that she will be working in the palace as your personal maid from now on," Trotter said as he bowed and started to leave.
Celestia nodded and watched as the professor began to leave her quarters. He stopped just before the door turning around to look at the princess. "My opinion may not matter very much in the scheme of things but I do believe you will make a wonderful mother," Trotter said as he bowed once more before leaving.
Outside in the hall, Globe Trotter made his way to the medical wing of the castle upon entering he only had to ask one nurse where the equipment was for blood tests. Finding said equipment Trotter began one of the most important tests that he had ever been part of carefully following all instructions in the processing of blood samples he waited. Patiently he waited for the results but patience was never one of his strong points while waiting for the results he opened the folder once more and began to read the notes. Looking over them closely he had found key pieces of information one, in particular, was that the prince not only was quadruped but able to freely move and function in a bipedal position as well. Smiling to himself his thoughts were brought back to reality by the sound of the testing machine ending its cycle. The machine printed it's a readout on the test it was given. Looking closely Trotter's eyes fell on only three words.
Parental match positive.
Chuckling once more to himself he took the printout folding it carefully and placing it in the folder. " This should make her the happiest mare in all of the Equestria." He said still chuckling to himself.
Leaving the medical wing Trotter noticed a single unicorn guard calling him over he levitated the folder did read out to the guard. "You must deliver this to Princess Celestia immediately do not open it I have placed a spell that only the princess can remove. Make haste your princess requires this information immediately." Trotter said with a little hint of authority in his tone.
With that, his job was done for the day deciding to head back to the university but on his way, he would stop at Milky Way's home and notify her of the good news.
Moments after Trotter had left her chambers Celestia allowed those few words he had said to her sink in good mother she stood there merely repeating those words good mother. A smile crossed her face and a feeling she had not felt in so long absolute joy. The knock at her door brought her back to reality moving to the door she uses her magic to open it slightly looking out she sees a loan unicorn guard standing at attention in front of her.
"What is a guard is there something the matter?" She asked looking at the guard truly concerned if something has happened.
"Your majesty Professor Trotter asked me to deliver this letter to you he said it was most urgent that you receive it immediately." The guards said trying to sound officials although he was intimidated to be in her presence.
Celestia used her magic to envelope the letter the guard held with his levitation. Nodding and thanking the guard for his studious actions she dismissed him closing the door behind her. "This must be the blood test the results." Celestia thought to herself as her mouth began to dry with anticipation. Carefully opening the letter she scans through all the medical jargon until her eyes laid upon those three words. Seeing them her own eyes grew in excitement a large smile crept a crossed her face and with all said and done for the regal princess of the sun did one thing no one would have suspected she cried out in the canterlot voice,
I'm a mother!!!!
Seconds later Celestia realized what she had done being thankful that the soundproof barrier was still erected. But unfortunately, her outburst did have consequences for upon the bed where a once sleeping form laid was now a crying infant that was awoken by a thunder's shock. Hearing the baby Celestia moved quickly to the bed and bringing her son in two were front hooves she rocked him back and forth soothing the frightened child.
"Shhh it's ok shhh mommy's here I know you got scared but your safe Mommy will never let anything harm you," Celestia said as she held her son close to her chest.
After a few moments, the baby calms down and began to fall back asleep.
Looking at the infant one more time before placing him on the bed and positioning herself to have him laid next to her side treating a wing over the baby. Celestia said one last phrase before she laid there and closed her eyes to sleep with her son.
True to his word Professor Trotter informed his niece MilkyWay of the job that is required by Princess Celestia. Making her way to the castle MilkyWay only stopping for a moment to readjust her maid outfit she continued on.
"Halt state your name and business." One guard said at the main entrance of the palace.
Jumping back with an 'eep' MilkyWay cleared her throat to speak. " I was told by my uncle that the Princess required my services as her personal made," MilkyWay said with a slightly trembling voice.
"Wait here I'll have one guard confirm this." The same guard said as he motioned for another to come near him and whispered into his ear. That same guard took off into the palace.
MilkyWay stood there eyeing the two guards it stood before her. Hoping that the Princess wooded knowledge her being there. Looking past the two guards she saw the other one return. Stopping before his superior he whispered back into the other's ear.
"Sorry for the inconvenience you may precede the private here will escort you to the Princess's chambers." The guard said as he and the other stepped aside to allow MilkyWay to pass.
Bowling her head MilkyWay followed the private as he directed her through the halls of the palace.
"Sorry about that ma'am but the lieutenant is a little too enthusiastic about his job," The private said as he led MilkyWay.
"It's quite all right I understand that the guards are put through a lot of training and only those who are chosen can be the ones to protect the Princess," MilkyWay said as she walked along next to the private.
Making their way through the halls they finally reached a set of doors with an emblem of the sun rested upon them. Knocking on the doors they both stood patiently for a reply. Hearing a muffled sound from within both MilkyWay and the private looked at each other with a hint of confusion. The door began to open slightly as Princess Celestia appeared her head outside of her room. Looking at the two standing before her she smiled.
"May I ask your name, young lady?" Celestia asked looking directly at MilkyWay.
"My name is MilkyWay my uncle Globe Trotter told me that you required a personal maid," MilkyWay said as she kept her head bowed looking to the floor.
"Arise my little pony and please enter," Celestia said as she opens the door to allow MilkyWay to enter. Stopping before she closes the door she looked at the private. "Pray tell, what is your name private?" She said tilting her head a little.
"Private Shining Armor your majesty," He said standing stock giving her a salute.
"Shining Armor as in Twilight Sparkle's brother?" She asked cocking an eyebrow.
"Yes ma'am I just finished basic training, and I am assigned as a runner ma'am, your majesty," Shining said feeling nervous and intimidated by the Princess.
Smiling down at him Celestia knew that he is one of the few ponies at the moment who could be trusted. " Please enter private Armor there are some matters I wish to speak with you." She said as she stepped back and gestured for him to enter her chambers.
Looking surprised and confused Shining Armor shook it off and carefully entered the princess's chambers.
Before Shining Armor could ask a question both his and the princess's attention were turned to her bed where they could see MilkyWay cooling and nuzzling a small baby.
"Oh aren't you this sweetest thing you're so cute I could just eat you up," Milky said as she nuzzled and blew raspberries on the baby stomach causing it to laugh.
"Your majesty and wha who is that?" Shining said pointing a hoof in the direction of her bed.
Turning with a smile in the direction of MilkyWay and her son Celestia began to walk toward them. " This private Armor is Prince Darwin my son future heir of Equestria," Celestia said with pride in her voice.
"Prince Darwin Your Son!?" Both new ponies said in unison.
"It would be best if I explain but no this what you're about to hear must remain secret do I make myself clear to both of you?" Celestia said looking sternly from Shining Armor to MilkyWay.
"Yes, your majesty of course." They both again said in unison.
As Celestia told them the events that led up to her choosing to become darwin's mother including the blood test professor Trotter conducted. Looking over to MilkyWay she could see the young mare with tears flowing from her eyes as she nuzzled the young prince.
"You poor little Angel you're just lucky that Princess has become your own mommy now." She said as she continued nuzzling the young prince.
"Your Majesty, that is a very touching story but may I ask why did you summon me here?" Shining Armor asked while holding back liquid pride.
"I wish to unveil the new prince to Equestria but not at this time I believe the nobles of Canterlot will not take this news graciously." Celestia said rolling her eyes as she remembers how the nobles truly act." For the time being, I will have you and MilkyWay be the only ones to know of the young Princes' existence I will also inform Captain Stonewall as well." She said as she made her way to her bed.
Shining Armor saluted and made his way out of the chamber. Celestia watched as MilkyWay played with the young prince knowing full well that there will be some trying times ahead.
MilkyWay stopped for a moment and reached into her saddlebag pulling out a note. " Princess I forgot to give you this it's a letter from my uncle." She said as she handed the note to the princess who took it in her magic.
Celestia opens the note and reads it. It was indeed from the professor.
Dear Princess Celestia
I am having my niece deliver this letter to you. It concerns the young prince do not worry it is nothing bad.
It deals with some information I have uncovered within the folder that you had given me.
It seems that the prince has a unique digestive system to put it simply every bit of food he consumes is converted directly into energy there is no waste.
Also, further study shows that the young prince will be omnivorous when he is grown due to this information I suggest that when he is able to eat solid foods he is to be given a high protein diet due to the need for muscle and brain development.
The protein can come in many forms I suggest eggs possibly fish added but if this is not to your liking there is a substance created by the Neighponie it is called tofu it is a meat substitute high in protein.
But I don't think you need to worry about it for some time from what I have gathered the young prince is two months in age.
Also to remind you that I will be making at least two visits a month to check up on the young prince and also to confirm any findings from the folder.

Reading the letter Celestia smiled as she folded up and placed it on her desk.
"Is a good news your majesty?" MilkyWay asked with a little concern.
"It is very good news my son is healthy and will grow up big and strong and he will be loved by all of Equestria," Celestia said as she made her way onto the bed to nuzzle with her son.
"If you won't be needing me now your majesty I will head to my room," MilkyWay said as she bowed ready to depart.
"Thank you MilkyWay your room has been set up across the hall from mine and I will expect you to do your duty when I am not here," Celestia said as she watched MilkyWay as she departed.
The weekend had come and gone Celestia spent all that time with her son but unfortunately, it was Monday and her royal duties were needed to be taken care of. After she had risen the sun and lower the moon Celestia made her way from the balcony back into her chambers. Climbing back onto the bed Celestia was greeted by the joyful smile of her son.
"Good morning my handsome prince did you have a peaceful night?" Celestia asked her son in a loving motherly tone while she nuzzled his cheek.
Hearing a knock coming from her door Celestia removed herself from the bed and began making her way to the door. Upon reaching it she used her magic to open it slightly expecting to see MilkyWay she was surprised when she noticed a small lavender unicorn filly standing at the door. The realization that had hit her today was the first day of her new personal student a young unicorn by the name of Twilight Sparkle. Knowing full well she would not be able to hide her son for very long Celestia open the door to allow the young filly to enter. Looking down she noticed young Twilight was carrying saddlebags full of parchments quills and other needed essentials for her education. But what caught her attention most was the small form nestled on Twilight stood back it was the baby dragon that she had hatched from the egg for her entry exam.
"Good morning princess I'm here ready and eager to learn," Twilight said with a big smile on her face. Looking up at the Princess, Twilight noticed where her eyes were focused. Turning her head back to the sleeping form of the baby dragon Twilight looked back up that the princess with a slight feared expression. " I'm, I'm sorry, Princess but I didn't think you'd mind if I brought Spike with me he doesn't like it when I leave him alone," Twilight said almost on the verge of crying.
Hearing this and seeing Twilight's expression Celestia cleared her thoughts. "It is quite all right my student you do not need to explain in fact I believe there's someone that spike and yourself might be interested in meeting," Celestia said as she closed her door and preceded to head to her bed.
Twilight being the ever-curious one followed her mentor. As they got to the edge of the bed Celestia used her magic to move the blanket to reveal a small form laying on the bed.
"What is that princess?" Twilight asked as she barely was able to peer over the top of the mattress.
Using her magic Celestia levitated both Twilight and the now awaken Spike onto her bed. So they both could get a better look at the now stirring form.
"This my student this is my son Prince Darwin," Celestia said as she used her front hoof to gently rub the now fully awake and Prince.
Twilight was in awe looking upon the small form in front of her. She could tell that he was at least the size of a newborn foal yet he did not look like a pony. "Um, Princess if he's your son why doesn't he look like a pony?" She said as she got down on her belly and crawled closer to the infant.
"Well I made not have given birth to him but all tests show that I am his biological mother," Celestia said as she watched her son crawl closer to Twilight and the now curious Spike.
"So you mean he was born to a surrogate mother?" Twilight said tilting her head to the side.
Thinking about it for a moment Celestia could actually see how this was possible Darwin's blood did show that she was his biological mother and yet she did not give birth to him so a surrogate mother did sound like the most logical answer. Before she could answer there came a knock at the door. Opening it a small way MilkyWay stuck her head in.
"I'm terribly sorry I'm late your highness I kind of got lost on my way from the kitchen back to here," MilkyWay said as she quickly entered the room shutting the door.
"It is quite alright MilkyWay you are in fact early and please allow me to introduce my personal student Ms. Twilight Sparkle, "Celestia said gesturing to the young filly.
" It's a pleasure to meet you, Ma'am," Twilight said bowing to MilkyWay.
"It's nice to meet you as well." MilkyWay said before remembering about the young prince." Um, your highness, does she know about the ah."
"Oh yes do not worry I have already introduced young Twilight to my son," Celestia said cutting off MilkyWay's question.
"Very well your majesty if you'll excuse me then I will be taking care of the young prince so you may begin your day." MilkyWay said as she made her way to the bed only to stop when she laid eyes upon not one but two babies."Oh, aren't they just adorable may I ask who the baby dragon belongs to?" MilkyWay asked as she picked both babies up in her front hooves and nuzzled both of them.
" The baby dragon is named Spike and he has come Twilight's." Celestia said smiling seeing how MilkyWay looked holding both infants." I was wondering if it was possible for you to watch both children just for today?"
"Your majesty it would be no trouble at all, in fact, if Ms. Twilight wishes I could watch Spike for her while she has her lessons," MilkyWay said cuddling both babies making them giggle.
Twilight looked a little unsure at first. Then a smile crossed her face when she saw the way Spike and Prince Darwin were interacting with each other and she thought it would be cruel to separate them now. "Yes, I think that is fine that is if it's not too much trouble for you Ma'am?'' Twilight said looking up to see the smile on her mentor's face.
Celestia knew it would be best as well scene her son is still unknown to the kingdom and it would be good for both of them to have a friend.
"Very well MilkyWay if you would please watch over both of these precious children and if you need anything notify one of the guards outside to contact me immediately, "Celestia said as she knelt down and kissed her son on the top of his head.
Bowing as Celestia and Twilight left the room MilkyWay took both babies over to the large rug in the center of the room. Placing them down among numerous toys she sat back and watched as the two played making garbling sounds to each other. To MilkyWay it sounded like baby talk but to the infants, it was clear as perfect English.
Next will be a conversation between Darwin and Spike only. Darwin will be brown Spike will be green.

After that, both baby's little tummies began to grumble letting MilkyWay know that it was time for them to be fed. As she made her way over to them with bottles in hoof she had to wonder what they were doing just sitting there the whole time making a lot of garbled noises. Maybe they were becoming friends.She thought as she fed both of them.
But some were in the castle two figures stood both hidden by the shadows as they spoke.
"It seems the information I acquired from Private Armor was accurate." Said one of the shadow figures.
"Yes, I can not believe that she would do..... I am sorry cousin but why must we do this it just feels so silly." Says one of the figures as it steps out into the light revealing to be a young stallion with white fur and a blond mane and tail.
Oh, come on it's fun, or are too old to play spy Blue Blood?" Said the other figure as it came into the light showing itself to be a young alicorn mare with pink fur and Purple pink and yellow mane.
"Cadance I do not need to play spy I am already part of the CID (Caterlot Intelligence Division)," Blueblood said to his cousin.
"Your just a clerk, not an agent remember besides I bet you that you don't even know our new cousins' name," Cadance said smugly.
"No, but I bet you I can find out before you, let's say the winner gets the losers desert for a week," BlueBlood said looking at his cousin with confidence.
"You're on Bluey," Cadance said before she diapered in a flash of light.
"No fair teleporting and don't call me Bluey!" BlueBlood shouted before teleporting himself.
I don't care what he looks like as long as Auntie Celestia is happy and I have someone to talk and teach guy things to I'm fine. BlueBlood thought with a smile on his muzzle as he reappeared in another part of the castle.
For a solid week, Cadance and Blue have secretly been spying on their aunt just to find out the name of their new cousin. After some extensive work mainly Cadance becoming Twilight's foalsitter and BlueBlood wining and dining Milky Way with no success by the way. Due to Milky already having a coltfriend in the royal guard's named Blast Sentry. As both ran to meet each other with what they knew to be great news for their own victory. They stopped outside their aunt's door looking at each other with a hint of smugness. But before either one could knock on the door it opened to reveal a very surprised and confused Celestia. Stepping back both teen Royals looked at each other before looking to their aunt.
And in unison, they both spoke very loudly. "Auntie can I see my new cousin Darwin if you please?"
"Wait how did you find out his name?" They both asked each other in unison.
"Well if you must know It was from my excellent skills and abilities to gather information," BlueBlood said while his eyes darted back and forth.
Well, I used my feminine wiles and seduced the Information from the unsuspecting masses Cadance said also not looking her cousin in the eyes.
Oh will you two just stop, I know full well the Twilight told you Cadance and for you, BlueBlood Milky Way told you. Celestia said looking a little crossed at her niece and nephew. And if I recall your bet was the winner gets the losers desert for a week. Now I think both Twilight and Milky Way should be the winners as you two just used them to get what you wanted with regard to their feelings.
Both of them lowered their heads in shame but Cadance spoke up first." Actually, I did like being Twilight's foalsitter and I plan on continuing to do so. That is if she will have me that is." Cadance said with a hopeful smile.
"I would like that princess," Twilight said looking at her with a joyful smile.
Everyone turned to look at BlueBlood who stood there looking off into the distance.
"What?" He said turning to look at them.
"What do you mean what? I think you owe Milky Way an apology." Celestia said looking at her nephew.
"I don't think I need to apologize when I had already done so before." He said looking at all of them.
Celestia turned her attention to Milky Way.
"It's true your Majesty he did when he found out that I already have a coltfriend," Milky Way said with a small blush.
Shaking her head Celestia sighed."Very well if you must then come with me." She said as she turns to enter her chambers.
Everyone follows suit as they all enter the room Cadance and Blue, headed over to see and meet their new cousin only to see a baby dragon sitting on the rug looking up and giggling.
"Um, Auntie I a little confused my cousin is a baby dragon?" BlueBlood asked scratching his head with a hoof.
"No, this is Spike he is Twilight's dragon I met him before," Cadance said also looking confused.
"That Is what I wanted to tell you, your highness. You see the prince started crawling today and well he hasn't stopped." Milky Way said pointing her hoof to the ceiling.
Following her hoof, everyone looked up to see the young prince crawling across the ceiling as if it were the floor giggling all the time. Which in turn caused Spike to giggle too.
As everyone else began to panic Celestia merely used her magic to bring her son back down and into her waiting hooves.
"Now what do you think you were doing young colt?" Celestia asked her son to only receive garbled and raspberries. "You were giving poor MilkyWay a heart attack, that is no way for a prince of Equestria to act my son now apologize." She said turning her son in her hooves to face Milky Way and the others.
The young prince looked at the frazzled-looking mare and reached out to her. Milky Way leaned close only for Darwin to gently stroke her cheek and kiss her nose.
Apology accepted you little devil but don't do that again. Milky Way said while nuzzling the young price.
Holding her son Celestia turned around and presented her son to his cousins. "Cadance Blue I would like you to meet your cousin, Prince Darwin."
Seconds later the was a squee heard in the room and everyone turned to look at Blue Blood.
"What, well he's just so cute, "Blue Blood said as he emphasized with his hoof to the happy baby being held by his aunt.
As Blue said this Cadance moved closer to her new cousin and started to make baby noises at him making Darwin giggle.
"So when are you going to reveal him to the nation Auntie, "Cadance asked looking to her aunt.
"I think I'll wait just a bit maybe when he is a year old that why the nobles and the rest of Equestria will be ready," Celestia said as she nuzzled her son.
With a huff, Blue Blood looked at his aunt." Don't concern yourself with what those stuffed shirted nobles think besides most of them couldn't find their own plotholes with a map and a guide."
"Blue Blood please refrain from that form of language in front of mares, my student, and your cousin, "Celestia said with a slight scowl but quickly smiled after."Although you are absolutely right although it is still not suitable for a prince to say."
Lowering his head Blue Blood apologized but still held a slight smirk.
This whole time Twilight was sitting on the bed with Spike as he sucked on the end of his tail oblivious of everything around him. Looking to see this Celestia believed that it was time to continue with Twilight's education. "Now if you two will return to your duties I believe my young student still has a few lessons to learn today," Celestia said as she ushered her niece and nephew out the door.
Before she could close the door she saw one of her most trusted guards rushing to her door with a somber expression.
"Your majesty, I have some disturbing news," The guard said as he tried to catch his breath.
"Lieutenant calm down what seems to be the problem what news do you have?" She asked trying to calm the Pegasus Guard.
Reaching under his wing he pulled out a newspaper and handed it to the princess. Upon opening the paper Celestia read the headline and had become shocked and enraged at what she saw.
Princess Hides Truth of Alein Offspring Nobels Demand Answers!!!
Before Celestia could say anything another guard approached it was her most trusted guard and dear friend.
"Captian Glory, could you explain this?" She asked levitating the paper to the large gray Unicorn stallion.
Taking the paper the captain read it and he was also enraged due to his training the Captain calmed himself before speaking. "Princess I believe I know how this information was leaked to the press," He said taking a deep breath. " A former Sergeant named Snob Hill and I say former because I found out he was having mostly Private Armor as well as others doing his job and he would take credit for it. I found out and I demoted him to Private and bumped up Armor to his rank. Thinking since his family was nobles he could get away with it. He didn't like it too well and I know it had to be him because this newspaper is owned by his family."
"Now, Captain, we can not just go accusing somepony because his family owns the paper," Celestia said before Glory stopped her from continuing.
"Yes your Highness that is why I interviewed the reporter who wrote the article and her has proof that not only Snob Hill gave the paper the information but he also ordered him to write it under penalty of termination from work," Glory said showing the Princess all the evidence only fueling the anger she was feeling for being betrayed by not just one of her ponies but a royal guard.
"Captian I would like for you to go and place Snob Hill under arrest for the crime of treason," Tai said in the most authoritative voice she had.
Turning around Captain Glory called for some guards the first to arrive was Shining Armor. " Armor I want you to take a squad to Hills home and place him under arrest discreetly but if his family tries to intervene arrest them as well treason against the crown will not be tolerated," He said before turning back to face Celestia. Princess, may I ask what do you plan to do now that all of, Canterlot possibly all of Equestria knows of the young Prince's existence?"
"Yes please notify Kibitz that I would like a press conference set up in one week and have Professor Trotter notified as well everything will be explained at that time and I will also introduce my son to all of Equestria," Celestia said to the Captain then she turned and made her way over to continue her lessons with Twilight as if nothing has happened.
Nodding his head then saluting Captain Glory turned and left the Princesses chambers to follow her orders. Knowing full well that there might be someponies out there that will disapprove of the Prince and may try to do him harm. " It would be best to have a couple of battalions on standby as well have the Shadow Watch on guard to protected the Prince 24/7," He thought to himself remembering the Shadow Watch was formed during the time before Nightmare Moon as Princess Lunas secret spy ring, agents who are sworn to protect Equestria and do things the normal guard or the civilian population are aware of. Turning down one last hall Glory stopped in front of a lone door. Knocking on it three times it opens to reveal a Batpony standing there.
"Stow it Fem I don't have time for this where's Night Bloom I need to talk with her immediately," Glory said rolling his eyes at the attempt of the Batpony acting clueless.
"Yes sir Captain right this way," She said saluting then leading the Unicorn into the room to another door.
Looking up from her paperwork to see the stallion standing there she smiled warmly. Hello dear, come to pick me up from work this time ?" She asked still smiling.
"Sorry honey but we have something important to discuss and I'd like to do it here away from the guards or the public eye," Glory said as he walked around the desk to kiss his wife and the head of the Shadow Watch on the lips.
So for the next two hours, Glory explained everything that has happened from Celestia find the baby to declaring him her son all the way to Snob Hills' actions. Hearing what a royal guard did out of spite made her fangs show as she growled.
"That Bucking spoiled little Son of a Biscuit, please tell me he's being punished and not having his family protecting him?" Night Bloom shouted more than asked still pissed to find out what he did.
"Don't worry the Princess ordered for him to be arrested for treason and I ordered that if his family interfered they would be arrested also," Glory said making Night Bloom calm down greatly.
"So what your saying is you want the Shadow Watch to become the Prince Darwins guards?" She asked.
Yes and no the Royal Guards will be his main protectors but I want the Watch to keep an eye on him from the shadows until he is old enough to be trained by the Guard and the Watch," Glory said, surprising his wife at the decision for the prince to be trained in such a way.
"Are you sure about this I know the Guard's training is difficult, bucking hell out of ten recruits maybe half will pass basic training but for the Watch, that same ten none might pass are you sure you want to put the Prince through that hell?" She asked looking concerned.
"I don't know I just have this feeling that the Prince is going to pass both training regiments with flying colors," Glory said shrugging his shoulders.
Night Bloom learned long ago never to question her husband's feelings about something. She remarked to one of her subordinates that if he was a Batpony, Thestral, or a Vamp-pony he would have been in the Shadow Watch hell he would have been in charge, but since he's a Unicorn he chose to join the Royal Guard.
(Thestrals, Batponies, Vamp-ponies have a special skill they are able to hide in and move through any shadow making them very skilled as spies. But due to their omnivorous nature, most ponies tend to avoid them.)
After everything was taking care of the two ponies made their way out of the office to head home for dinner.
Over the week not much had happened a few paparazzi were ejected from the grounds after trying to get shots of the princess and her so-called son as the papers were putting it. Cadance and Blue Blood were a big help to their Aunt as they got the younger nobles onto the Princess's side. One, in particular, a young stallion by the name of Fancy Pants who owned the second-largest newspaper in Equestria refused to have anything written about the Princess until or the alleged foal until the press conferences and then he would voice his opinion but not sooner and he wishes for the other papers to follow suit. But nothing changed the papers would write outlandish ideas just to make a bit. Two days before the conferences young Fancy Pants decided to take drastic measures he with help from his best friend Blue Blood and financial support from his fiance a Ms. Fleur de Lis he purchased all the newspapers and tabloids leaving the big four. The Tribune, Eq Today, The Gazette, and his paper The Times.
The day of the conferences and reveal of the Prince had come. First to speak was Princess Celestia she stood there and told the nobles the papers and the gathered ponies the story of how she had found her son. What she had learned of his creation what he was meant to be used for. Many there had tears in their eyes when she finished. "Now I believe it is time to introduce you to my son, Ponies of Equestria I give you Prince Darwin Everfree Heir to the Throne of the Sun," Celestia said proudly as she raised her son up so all in attendance could look upon him.
There was silence at first but then, came a mighty roar from the crowd cheers called out. Both congratulating the Princess and welcoming the Prince home. All though there were some nobles that cringed at the sight of the prince muttering freak, monster, or demon, but they were overshadowed by the rest of those in attendance. The populace, reporters, and other nobles saw an adorable colt being held by his mother. After another hour of QnA. The Princess took her very tired son to her chambers for a nap. The next few days the papers had all had essentially the sale headlines welcoming the new Prince home or congratulating the Princess.
But unfortunately, Captain Glory's concerns were correct for that next week there had been five attempts to either foalnap or outright kill the Prince. The first attempt was foiled by the Prince himself a Gryphon mercenary was hired to assassinate Darwin while Celestia was in Day court. According to the Shadow Watch that was assigned for security, the Gryphon snuck in incapacitated Ms. MilkeyWay and made his way over to the crib to end the Prince. Upon reaching said crib the criminal was confused as Darwin was not there. Unknown to the Gryphon the Prince had somehow become invisible and moved into a strategic position to strike. Then in the blink of an eye, the Prince was on the back of the neck of the Gryphon. Seconds later the sickening sound of bones crunching was heard then the Assassin dropped to the floor dead. After examining the body it was discovered that the Prince had severed the spine at the base of the skull. But that was not all that was discovered the body had an unidentified neural toxin so potent that one drop was powerful enough to kill one hundred full-grown stallions and what was found in the Gryphon was equal to one tablespoon. This information was ordered to be withheld from the Princess and the ones responsible for hiring the mercenary were hunted down and removed from their position of power and executed. This was also withheld from the Princess. Other than those five there have not been any other incidences.

So a celebration was to be held in the Castle all the preparations were going smoothly and Celestia took the day off from her duties to oversee everything. While this was happening the young Prince was being cared for by his nanny Milky Way in the garden with his best friend Spike. Twilight, Cadance, and Shining Armor were there as were a large number of armed Guards. It turns out Celestia did find out about the attempts on Darwin's life and she was not happy. First for being kept in the dark about them and second for not being the one to kill the guilty parties herself. In his time as a guard and as captain, Glory has never shown fear until he looked upon the face of the Princess when she heard the truth. He could have sworn that her mane and tail changed from the beautiful tricolors to flames as hot as the sun its self. As the three younger ones played under the watchful eyes of the grown-ups Shining couldn't keep admiring his new uniform after just a year he had risen in rank to Lieutenant JG.
"You know Shining if you stare at it too long you might get demoted for not doing your job," Came the sweet voice of his fillyfriend Cadance.
Turning to look at her with a sheepish grin Shining rubbed the back of his head laughing. "I know and I'm sorry but I just can't believe it I'm an officer now," Shining said as he moved closer to Cadance. Just think if it keeps going this way I could make captain and then we could....."
"We could what Shining?" Cadance asked turning to see why he stopped talking only to see him on the ground knocked out and a small ball neck to his head. "Shining are you alright what happened?"Cadance cried out seeing a bruising start to form on Shining's left eye.
Twilight and Milky Way both were running over apologizing for what happened.

Darwin and Spike played but during this, they had a little conversation in their baby talk.

Getting the ball Darwin waited until Nanny and Twilight weren't looking and then with all his strength the young prince hurled the ball in the direction Spike pointed. The small rubber ball flew with the speed of a bullet only to hit Shining Armor in the face.
Twilight and Milky Way both saw what happened and both of them ran over to see if the Lieutenant and her brother were ok. This distraction gave the two babies ample time to start crawling away on their first adventure. The two made it halfway to the statue garden before they were surrounded by a magenta field and lifted off the ground to come face to face with a very upset little filly.
"Now I don't know how but I know you planned to distract everypony so you could crawl off but you hurt Shining and that was not nice so I want both of you to apologize right now," Twilight said in a very stern tone.
Hearing this Spike lowered his head while Darwin tried to use his wings to fly away only to give up and cross his front legs pouting knowing that their adventure was cut short. Darwin stayed like that until they came into view of a dazed Shining sporting a black eye. Seeing this the Prince lowered his head in shame knowing that he had hurt one of the grown-ups that he saw more like a big brother. Struggling in Twilights grip Darwin broke free and before he fell to the ground he furled his wings out and glided over to land in Shinings lap. Tears in his eyes Darwin reached up with one of his hands and touch the wound he had caused. Babbling in baby to Shining the stallion could only look at the Prince.

Pulling the Prince into a hug, Shining just smiled down at him. "It's ok, little guy, I've gotten worse but I got to say you got one heck of an arm there you threw that thing at least a hundred hooves."(One hundred hooves = One hundred feet) Hearing this Darwin smiled back at the Stallion before turning to look for Spike only to have him placed in Shining lap too. Spike also apologized in baby talk and Shing forgave him as well. After that tender moment, Cadance decided that it was time to go inside and get ready for the party seeing as it was not only Darwins but Spikes big day as well. Everypony decided to have both baby's birthdays on the same day even though Spike was hatched a few days earlier. One of the most memorable moments was when Captian Glory showed his wife Night Bloom why he kept insisting that the young Princes be trained by both guard units. The evidence being Shinings shiner and just how far Darwin threw the ball. The shocked expression on Nights' face was enough to make the old stallion bust up laughing. This did not help the young Lieutenant feel any better. Celestia was amazed at how strong her son was. Even Professor Trotter showed up to the party for two reasons of course first being to check up on his favorite and only patience and the second Trotter could never pass up free food of any kind. As he did a quick checkup on the birthday boy he found out that Darwin's muscles were developing at the normal rate of any foal but he did have a theory as to how he threw the ball so far and hard.
"You see I believe the Prince's body remains in a state of rest for most of the time but under degrees of extreme danger or agitation he exhibits his unique traits," Trotter said to the few ponies standing around him. "Pray tell where was he headed to when young Miss Sparkle caught up to the two of them?"
"Oh, they were headed towards the statue gardens more precise to that weird looking one," Twilight said smiling at knowing the answer.
"That would explain everything," Trotter said to a very confused group of ponies. " You see that statue is Discord the Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony and he stands for everything that the Prince was made to fight against. You see Darwin is by all logical views a weapon for Peace and Order and I believe he must have sensed something and wanted to make sure it wasn't a threat. I wouldn't be surprised if you put him out there right now he would crawl right to it and more than likely try to destroy it not really knowing why." Trotter said to everypony around him unfortunately only Celestia, Captains Glory, Night Bloom, and surprisingly Shining Armor were the only ones to know what he meant.
"I can't believe it when this sweet little angel,(Night) little colt,(Glory) little guy,( Shining) grows up he will be a one-pony army and probably be as powerful if not more so than his mother," Thought Glory Night and Shining at the same time.
Celestia smiled at the news, just like any mother would but deep down she was scared, scared that if her sweet baby boy were to turn evil there would be no force in Equestria to stop him. But she knew that would never happen after all he had ponies that loved him and taught him right from wrong and most importantly he had a mommy that would do anything for her sweet little angel. Pushing those thoughts back Celestia knew deep down that everything will be alright. It was a party and it was time to spend with her beloved son. After the party and everypony went home Celestia said good night to Milky Way and thanked her once again for her wonderful work in the care of her son. As she closed the door Celestia made her way over to her bed where her son waited to be fed his dinner. Even though Darwin was a year old Celestia did not stop breastfeeding him as often as she liked, mostly at night or in the morning. But this night something happened that made Celestia realized that Darwin was truly her son. Getting into position so he was able to feed she watched as he crawled not to her teats but her head. With wide eyes, she saw Darwin move up taking her muzzle into his small hands, and lean in to kiss her on the nose before speaking his first words.
"Wub Mama," Darwin said smiling at his shocked mother. He became scared because Celestia didn't move for what felt like forever but then he was picked up into the front hooves of his mom and received kiss after kiss.
"Oh, my precious little boy your first words I must tell Lun... " Celestia said before the realization of what she was going to say, hit like a hammer to her heart.
Lifting her son up she walked over to the balcony doors and opened them. Stepping out into the night sky Celestia looked up at the moon as the image of the Mare in the Moon could be seen. Tears began to fall from her eyes and she would have sat there crying all through the night if not for her son crying out mama. This brought her back looking down at her son she smiled only for Darwin to look at her saying mama then pointing to the moon. As if asking why she was crying.
Raising her son into the air. Celestia spoke with a hint of sadness in her voice." Look, look Luna this is Darwin my son your nephew. I know it will be some time before you can return but when that day comes I want him to know the truth and to love you as much as I. Oh, dear sister will you ever truly forgive me for what I had done." She said as more tears fell from her eyes as she held her son close to her heart. Turning to return to their chambers Celestia began to sing a lullaby but this song was not only for her son but to her sister that she wished was by her side.

And just like the funny rock thingy, Darwin vowed that someday he would meet this Luna and make mommy happy. Some would say those are big dreams for a baby but then again nopony has met any pony like Prince Darwin Everfree of Equestria.
Everfree Forest
In a very familiar open field, a blanket of fog sets unmoved by the breeze strange sounds can be heard coming from it. Then movement a shape one that has not been seen in this world for a year now. But something was different about this one. Moments later another one of these creatures emerged from the fog. It looked taller than the first and when it spoke it had a deeper voice make it sound more like a stallion.
"Doctor Everfree we have to hurry the portal will only stay open until dawn which is in two hours then it will close for another six months," The tall stallion said turning to look at the other one. "Luna, are you listening to me?" he yelled making the shorter one turn to look at him.
"Yes I heard you Macintosh Apple but I'm not going back not yet I have to find out what happen why has a portal opened connecting our world with this strange one and where is my sister she disappeared in the middle of this after those bastards shot her where is she wheres her body," The creature now known as Luna shouted at the one called Macintosh. I'm sorry Mac I didn't mean to yell at you I just wish I could find out what happ..." Luna's words were cut short when she saw what looked like a crude grave of stones and a headstone etched into it were words Luna could see that they were not carved with a hammer and chisel but Etched as if a laser was used. Reading the words tears began to fall from her eyes.
Mac walked over to her side placing a hand on her shoulder he looked down and read the words on the stone. Here lies a female creature may she find rest
"What the heck wait if she died here then who buried her and where is project X-11257? Mac asked looking around a little confused.
"Darwin, she named him Darwin," Luna said placing a flower on the grave before standing and looking at the stallion with her. "And it looks like whoever buried her took him with them," She said looking from the grave to the only visible structure in sight, being what looked like a castle on the side of a mountain.
"How in tarnation can that be possible the place looks like it'll fall off any second," Mac said tilting his head while looking at the castle in the distance.
"I don't know maybe it's magic," Luna said laughing a little until an alarm went off scaring both of them.
Mac looks down at the box he was carrying. "Well, shoot looks like our visit will have to wait sensors show a large number of those, wooden wolf-looking things are coming this way."
"Very well but next time the portal opens we're bringing a small group with us and we will be staying until the portal opens again," She said as she walked through the fog disappearing from sight only for her voice to be heard. "And I hope you don't have any plans for those six months we're here Mac?"
"Why am I even here I'm a Geologist, not a damn space explorer," Mac said as he entered the fog only to yell. "Take me to your leader!"
Unknown to the two strange creatures but a set of yellow slitted eyes had been watching them the entire time. After it was truly safe did observer make himself known as a thestral pony flapping his leathery wings he took off heading for the castle to inform the Princess of what he had discovered praying to the night mother that all would be safe and well.
Learning of the news about the strange creatures in the Everfree Forest, Celestia had an outpost built near the sight and ordered that no less than two unicorns with powerful shield spells were to be present at all times. That way if this portal opens again they will be ready and erect a barrier to prevent these creatures from leaving the area until a thorough study could be completed. Making sure they were not dangerous seeing as they come from the same world that created Darwin to be a weapon.
That was not the main thing on Celestia's mind today for this day the dignitaries from all ally countries would be arriving to discuss further peace agreements with Equestria.
But you not here to read about that you here because this story is about Darwin and his adventures in Equestria. So let's get started, shall we?
It was a bright and sunny morning as Milky Way Tried in vain to get the young prince to sit in his highchair so she could feed him.
"Come on Darwin sweetie calm down so you can eat and I promise after that we can go outside and play," Milky said as she was holding a bowl of cereal for the fussy young prince.
Hearing the prospects of going outside Darwin stopped moving as he smiled at his Nanny and opened his mouth to be fed.
"You know I think you only do this so I would take you ouside?" Milky said giving the Prince another spoon full of cereal only to see a devilish grin appear on the baby's face. "Why you little... Angel ." Milky Way said laughing afterward as did Darwin.
"So you have figured out my young prince's plan," The voice of Celestia said as she stood at the door of her chambers holding back a laugh.
"Your Majesty, I thought you were going to be busy all day with the dignitaries?" Milky Way asked as she continued feeding Darwin.
"Not all of them have arrived as of yet, so I thought I would spend this time with my son and I see that my troll training is paying off," Celestia said as she came into the room stopping in front of her son smiling at him.
"Troll training your Majesty?" Milky asked looking confused.
"Back when I was a filly I earned the nickname of Trollestia by the others for being able to troll even a dragon into submission," Celestia said proudly as she lifted her son from his highchair. And I figured I should pass that skill onto him," She said turning around holding her son in her hooves.
Standing there blinking Milky Way just nodded before she spoke. Then if you won't be needing me at this time I'll just return to my room and finish that letter to my cousin Sugar Drops," She said turning to leave as one thought entered her mind. "The more I learn about this family the more I fear for the Prince's sanity when he grows up," Milky thought to herself as she closed the door.
"Now how about we get ready for some fun?" Celestia said as she brought her son over to his changing table to get him dressed.
Darwin didn't know what his mommy had planned for today but every time she said the word fun it was something incredible. After getting dressed Darwin was placed on his mother's back as they left the room and traveled down the hall. Little eyes watched as many strange and wonderful things passed by.
Darwin could only think to himself. "I going to play with that and that and that thing with the flowers in it and that and that," Pointing and gurgling at every expensive and breakable object he could see.
Celestia turned her head to look at her son. "Do you like looking at all of Mommy's pretty things?" She asked.
Darwin reached out with his tiny clawed hands flexing his fingers smiling." Mama," Is all he said before he giggled.
“That's right my little Sunrise and Mama loves you too," Celestia said leaning in and kissing her son on the head.
Their trip didn't take long as they stopped in front of two large doors but to Darwin they were ginormous. Watching as the doors swung open Darwin's eyes grew in amazement at what was inside. Things, weird things, weird loud things. Some of them looked like Nanny and Twilight but the others were different. One looked like Spike but bigger and it had those things on its back, um, wings. Then there was one of those things that tried to hurt him, Spike, and Nanny Darwin didn't like that one. There was even one that had two legs and big stuff coming out of its head. He watched as the things all made a lot of noise but then they stopped and turned to look at him and his mommy.
Greeting to you all and I would like to thank each of you for coming," Celestia said stepping into the room. "Now before we begin I would like to introduce my son Prince Darwin of Equestria," She said as she levitated her son out in front of her.
Dawin's POV
These things are loud but they look funny hey that one looks like Nanny but taller and is that Twilight no colors wrong oh well. Wow, I wonder if Spike will get that big when he grows up? Grrrrr one of those things that tried to hurt Spike and Nanny. If it tries to hurt mommy, I'll rip out its spleen, wait where'd that come from and what's a spleen? Hey, that one looks funny it has two legs and big pointy hair. Wait, why is it quiet now and what did mommy say, whoa stop mommy what are you doing?
Looking at all the faces staring at him Darwin felt so small and scared but that changed as a different feeling came over him not fear not anger but bravery courage whatever you want to call it and Darwin knew that no matter how big and loud they were he could bite every one of their ankles off if he had to. So raising his hand Darwin smiled showing all of his tiny teeth, fangs, and all and in bay said. "Hi there, it is nice to meet you, I am Darwin and this is my mommy thank you for coming," to everyone present it sounded like "goo ga dub ge mumu wa ga to ha,"
There was silence again until a bunch of oohs and awws and dwaaaa was heard followed by he is so cute and such a handsome young colt and congratulations.
Darwin knew what was being said and started to relax when he noticed that all the things were like Mommy and Nanny meaning they were girls all of them. Learning this made him a little happier oh he like being with his cousin Blue and Shining and Spike, but when he was around Nanny and Twilight and any other girl he was happier because they smelled better. He just liked how they smell, it was almost like mommies smell but different even asleep he would know when Mommy would lay beside him.
Darwin didn't understand why his mommy brought him here until he heard someone call to him.
Hey, hey you are you here to play with us? The voice said.
Darwin looked around until he saw them over near the corner were other babies and each one looked like the big ones but way smaller. This caused Darwin to gasp pointing and bouncing on his mom's back.
"What is it, sweetie?" Celestia asked her son looking at where he was pointing. "Oh, would you like to go over and make some new friends?" She asked only to get a happy clap from her son.
Walking over Celestia levitated Darwin down to the floor so he could meet these new babies and like mommy said make friends.
Looking around at all of them Darwin couldn't believe there were different types of babies oh there was Spike and he did see ones like Twilight and Nanny but not one that was Black and white or was that white and black. Then there was one that looked like one of his toys that made a moo sound but not the same. Then there was one that it's mommy looked like his mommy but no horn and wings and she wore funny clothes and then there was one of those things. But this one was different Darwin didn't feel any danger from it.
Each baby will be a different color when speaking.

The baby dragon just scoffed at what Darwin had said until the sound of hissing caught her ears turning slowly she saw that behind her was indeed a very large snake.
The conversation of the mothers was halted by the scream from the little dragon and all eyes fell upon the reason why.
"No one move that is a deadfall serpent it is the most venomous creature in all of Equis," The griffoness said as she kept her keen eyes on the snake's movements.
"What are we to do the children?" The Minotaur cow asked.
"I can hold it in my magic but it moves so fast and if it senses that I'm trying to capture it, it might strike," Celestia said getting ready to channel her magic.
"Please, Tai, do something it's moving closer to Ember," The Dragoness said keeping her eyes on her daughter. “Sweetie don't move ok mommy will get you but don't move.”
Hearing her mother Ember couldn't help but flex her wings making the snake strike at her. Its moves were too fast for the Alabaster Alicorn to see for her to use her magic to save the little dragoness. But there was no death that day except for the foolish snake because in the blink of an eye Darwin had seen the danger and acted moving so fast he appeared behind Ember before the snake even moved and caught its head in his claws holding it as the serpent's body thrashes around until there was a loud crunch as the young prince crush its head in his hand killing it before he dropped the thing on the floor.
There was silence for only a second before a roaring noise from both the mothers and babies. The mothers wanted to know how something so dangerous could be in the castle and how it got in a secured room.
As for the babies, Ari, Tallo, Steele Horn, and Gabby all thought it was so neat that he could move like that and what he did to the big scary wormy thing. But for Ember, she didn't say anything because she was too busy holding on to Darwin crying from being so scared.
"I understand your concerns I will get to the bottom of this I assure you," Celestia said after she calmed all the mothers down knowing full well this was another attempt on her son's life.
“I know you will Tai but seeing my Ember like that I couldn't help but worry," The Dragoness said before turning to see her daughter holding on to the young Solar prince crying on his shoulder after he saved her. “Oh my just look at that I think Ember might have a little crush on your son Tai maybe we should be talking about an arranged marriage when they're older," She said only to giggle.
Gabby sat there looking at Darwin as Ember still held him in a huff she crawled over and started to hug Darwin as well rubbing her cheek against his as she purred.
"I don't think she the only one,' The griffoness said pointing at her own daughter hugging Darwin and purring as she too started to giggle.
Darwin could only sit there wondering what happened why were these two were doing this all he did was stop a threat like the last time but this one was a lot easier.
It took some time but eventually, Ember let Darwin go as did Gabby but those two never left his side even during lunch.
