The Princesses of the Sun and Moon can't stand the sight of a certain fruit. Why? It all started with a dream...

It was supposed to be a night of fun for two sisters. A few hours away from royal duties. But now it is a night that will haunt them forever. It is... The Curse of the Yellow Fruit.

"Well, t'would seem my duties in the dreamworld are complete," Princess Luna said. She stood in the Hallway of Dreams, where there were doors as far as the eye could see, one for everypony in Equestria, and each leading to that pony's dream.

Right now she stood in front of one particular door; it was white with a gold frame and handle and a detailed sun symbol etched into the wood of the door. This, along with the air of elegance to it, made it rather clear who it belonged to. It was none other than Princess Celestia, Sun goddess and ruler of the day, as well as, of course, Luna's sister.

On nights like this, when Luna did not have very many duties, she would go and visit her sister in her dreams. Due to their often busy schedules, and her being nocturnal, in a sense, they often did not have much time to spend together.

That was why Celestia and Luna arranged to spend time in the Sun Princess' dreams. It wasn't quite the same as the real world, but it was something. Not to mention a place where they couldn't be disturbed with royal duties or some kind of crisis. Those things seemed to come at least every 22 weeks.

Luna stepped through the door and into her sister's dream, excited to surprise her. 'She won't be expecting me this early,' Luna thought.

Once the door was closed behind her, she found herself in the midst of a forest. Unlike the Everfree Forest, this one seemed to be... normal. At least, as normal as something could be inside a dream fantasy world.

"Celestia?" she called. No answer. The forest was rather thick, and her sister was probably farther ahead.

The Princess of the Night began walking through the forest, being careful not to trip while at the same time looking for her sister.

She had been walking for a few minutes when she came to a clearing. The forest ended rather abruptly on the edge of a somewhat steep hill. That, however, was not what caused the Alicorn to halt.

For there, just a ways beyond the clearing, was something very strange.

There were three white walls and a floor, making it look like an incomplete house left out in the middle of nowhere, sticking out from the scenery like a sore hoof.

What added to that even more were the strange, multi-colored lights that were flashing about, casting themselves on the walls in tune with the techno beats coming from an unknown place (Luna couldn't see any music players or even speakers of any kind) making it seem like a concert of some sort.

But the oddest thing by far was that, in the center of it all, was a large, dancing..... banana.

Luna rubbed her eyes to be sure she was seeing correctly. Her sister had had odd dreams before. There was the giant castle made of cake that Luna had caught Celestia beginning to eat, the time she found her drawing mustaches on the entire royal guard in permanent marker while they were asleep, one where she'd seen Celestia sending everything but the kitchen sink to the moon, and even a dream where she saw her elder sister flying alongside a strange cat with the body of a cookie that had rainbows coming out of its..... behind. 'But this one just might take the cake,' Luna thought.

She watched as the banana continued to dance. If it could be called dancing, at least. To the Night Princess, it looked more like a fish flopping about on the shore. A fish on two legs. That was dressed like a banana.

Wait.... on two legs? Luna looked again to see that there were, in fact, two legs sticking out of the bottom of the banana, which she now assumed must be a costume. Two very familiar looking legs. They were white, and on the hooves were shoes.... just like hers, only golden.

'No,' Luna thought. 'It can't be...'

Just then the "dancing" banana turned around and revealed, to her horror, that it was none other than her sister, Princess Celestia herself.

Luna became aware of her sister chanting something, over and over, becoming loud enough for her to hear.

"I'm a banana, I'm a banana, I'm a banana, I'm a banana!"

Then the Alicorn-banana began dancing worse, shaking her hips like no tomorrow.

Luna stood there for a few minutes, thinking over her options. She could stop this now, or, if she cast a recording spell... she would have something to hold over her sister's head.....

It was tempting. She thought of all the fun she could have, all the laughs, as well as the embarrassment on her sister's part.... it would guarantee entertainment for so many years!

On the other hoof, she could also end up spending just as many years on the moon, she realized.

Her sister's continued chanting snapped her out of these thoughts. It had become rather irritating.

The Night Princess' mind was now made up. With a few flaps of her wings, she exited the forest completely, and, summoning her Royal Canterlot Voice, bellowed, "ENOUGH!"

"I'm a banan....." The Princess of the Sun (and now apparently bananas) halted as she saw her younger sister. "...a..." she finished.

Luna lit her horn with magic, clearing the dreamscape of the walls, lights, music, and most importantly, the banana costume. She then landed and stood across from her very red-faced sister.

Neither made a single sound for quite some time before Celestia finally spoke.

"We will never speak of this again," she said, a hint of pleading in her voice.

Luna hesitated, and tried not to laugh when she noticed her sister beginning to sweat. She looked her straight in the eye. "Never." They nodded in agreement.

A few hours later.....

Luna had seated herself in their private dining room just as Celestia entered. It was time for Luna's dinner, and Celestia's breakfast.

Neither said anything or made eye contact. After they had promised complete silence about the content of Celestia's dream, Luna had left as it was too awkward to spend any sisterly time together.

Now they sat in silence until one of the castle chefs, doubling as a waitress, came in to take their orders.

"What would Their Majesties like to eat this morning?" she asked. The unicorn levitated an order pad and pen in her magic.

"What do you recommend, Silver Tray?" Celestia asked.

"Well," she began, using a hoof to push back the chef hat sliding down her muzzle, "Baking Pan just got done making some banana muffins. Would you like-"

"NO!" both Alicorns shouted.

A few hours later.......

After a breakfast spent in awkward silence, Luna quietly snuck off to her room, dismissing the guards in the hallway outside the door. With one last look to be sure nopony was around, she closed the door and cast a soundproofing spell over the room.

Making her way over to her bed, she sat down and made herself comfortable before summoning a projecting screen and a bag of popcorn. Horn lighting once more, she cast a final spell on the screen.

I'm a banana, I'm a banana, I'm a banana, LOOK AT ME!

The Night Princess chuckled. "Oh, the genius of modern day recording spells...."
