> What is this Crazy Place?! > by Moofrog 3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Waking up > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ???? My head aches as I come too. Did I get sick while I was a sleep or something? I stand up and open my eyes before looking around. Then I immediately regret it. I’m in some sort of dark forest, almost stereotypically dark. Rotten trees surrounding me with long blackened roots. What few leaves that remain on the trees in question are blackened as ash, and a few and far between. Crows fly above me, and I can see dark figures skittering at the edge of my vision. This is a creepy place isn’t it? What? Who said that? I said it! Ok who are you? Someone who likes watching you, and that’s all I’m telling. Uuuuuh…ok now I’ve got a mysterious head voice, just great. Before I can question the voice any further I spot a figure approaching me. It’s a pony, with red eyes and bat wings, kind of like an evil Pegasus really. The red eyed bat pony stairs me down. It’s weird, I’m completely terrified, but for some reason I feel more like trying to shank it then feel like trying to run away. It’s eeeeeeeeeeeevil! Ok that’s not a good sign. Before I can much of anything however the pony rushes and me and hits me on the head knocking me out. ???? When I wake up again I find myself in some sort of cell. Great, now I’m not only lost but I’m in jail too. I look around to see that while I’m the sole occupant of my cell, a few of the other cells around me are occupied. The one right next to me is occupied by a yellow skinned girl with red and yellow hair, she’s stands about a head over me and is well muscled. I can’t say that I’m not intimidated that’s for sure. Across from me is some bird lion thing, it looks kind of like what I’d imagine a griffin to be like except it doesn’t have wings. Finally sitting in the cell on the opposite side of me is another one of those bat ponies, except this one doesn’t seem quite as...off as the other one and it has yellow eyes instead of red ones. Well might as well see if anyone here is amendable to conversation. “So” I look around. “Can somewhat tell me what’s going on? I just woke up the woods a little while ago and got knocked out by some weird bat pony.” The girl with the weird skin condition and hair that makes me want a cheeseburger walks up to the edge of her cage and looks at. “We’ve all been taken prisoner by the vampony counts of Transylmania.” “Who?” I ask blinking in confusion. “I have no idea who those people even are.” “Really” She raises an eyebrow. “You don’t know about the vampony counts? What about the Empire of Equestria?” “Nope.” “The Legions of Disharmony?” “No.” “The human hordes Warlady masters?” I blink “Well I come from a world of humans and we’ve had plenty of Hordes running around but I can’t remember any that called themselves the war ladies off the top of my head.” “Weird.” She looks my over. “You’re very soft spoken for a human you know that right? Even the comparatively peaceful and meek males like to chew the scenery with every word they make when you actually get them talking.” “I honestly don’t know how humans are supposed to act here.” I say “But I’m starting to get the feeling that it isn’t like they do back home…wait are you actually human yourself?” “No” She shakes her head. “I was a different species before I had a…falling out with my former mentor. I was cursed into this form by a mage of disharmony and haven’t been able to get it lifted. Most humans around here look more like you then me.” They also happen to be more violent than the two of you put together, but they are funny about it so I’m not complaining. Great the stupid head voice is back. The girl in the other cell notices my eye twitch and gives me an odd look. “Hey you look a little out of it, is something up.” Well no point in withholding the truth. Yeah it’s not like she could stop me anyway. “I’ve been hearing a voice in my head.” I answer rubbing the back of my head. “I mean they aren’t telling me to kill people or anything but it’s still annoying.” The other girl looks me over as her eyes glow yellow for a moment. “Well my magic sense doesn’t say that anything is wrong with you, and humans are neigh immune to the influence of disharmony so nothing to worry about on that front. I wish I could help more but human magic has always been an enigma at the best. I’ll try and see what we can do when we get out of here.” “That would be appreciated.” I say as I look around. “So why where we all thrown in here anyway?” “Some sort of magical ritual.” The girls says as she looks around at the assorted prisoners. “Everyone here either has something magical off with them or is a rare member of their kind, sometimes both.” She glances over at me. “Large rituals usually require such beings as sacrifices in order to be successfully implemented.” “Oh great.” The bat pony grumbles from her cage “So the vampony freaks aren’t just going to kill us, but they’re going to use our souls to ruin our friends too?’ “Pretty much.” The yellow haired girl shrugs. “Well” The wingless Griffin is the next to speak up, he’s a very shy one if his tone of voice is anything to go by. “I don’t want that to happen if I can help it…is there any way for us to escape.” “Not alone.” The girl looks around the room. “But we might be able to escape if we work together.” I shrug. “Well I’ve got nothing to lose. “I’m Marcus Redpine by the way.” The bat ponys grunts. “If it’ll let me stick it to those stupid vampony freaks you can count me in. I’m last breath.” “Ummm well I’m don’t normally like causing trouble.” The wingless Griffin shyly looked to the side. “But I’m more them happy to help out others in trouble, I’m Grey Eye of the Murder Fury clan.” “Very well” The girl inside the cage next to mine nodded. “I’m Sunset Shimmer, and I’m sure that if we put out heads together we can figure a way out of this mess.” And like that a deal was struck and an unlikely alliance was made.
