> Breeze of Love > by HeartBeat > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: A Ticket > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1: A Ticket Ponyville isn't a bad place. The ponies are friendly and welcoming to each other. My life isn't so bad. I have a job, some friends, and a good supply of bits to keep me alive for a while. The work as Weather patrol pony can be a little stressful sometimes. I would get a small shock of lightning every now and again, but I soon got used to it and shrug it off. Aerohead is a good friend of mine. We both have the same shifts, but it seems I always have more hours than him. "You know, you really need a break from all your work, Breeze." Aerohead said to me. "Yeah. The boss is kinda overworking me with hours." I replied throwing my goggles in my locker. "But I don't really mind it. All I do after I work is just bum around for a while or go out and enjoy the sky. So a little more work keeps me busy." We trotted out of the weather station and took off. He an I glided for a while to talk to one another about the weather patrol and other nonsense. "Hey, Breeze?" Aerohead asked flipping his sunglasses back down over his eyes. "Whats up?" I asked him landing onto a nearby cloud. "So what are you doing the four day break from work?" Asked Aerohead landing a few feet away from me. "Well, I'm going to see the Wonderbolts tomorrow. Would you like to come? I got an extra ticket." I said pulling out an envelope with the Wonderbolts emblem on it. "Nah, Rarity and I got something to do tomorrow." Aerohead replied looking into the distance with a grin and light blushed cheeks. This quickly went away when I began to laugh as I saw him think of his 'plans' with his wife. Suddenly, I felt as if all the wind was knocked out of my lungs as I got tackled off the current cloud I stood on. A few seconds later, we gently landed on a soft nearby cloud. I looked up to see a clearly excited cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane and dark pink eyes. It was no other than my crush, Rainbow Dash. "Did I hear you say 'Wonderbolts'?" asked the mare with a large smile on her face. I starred at her for a while as she asked me the question with a big smile. She had the most beautiful colored eyes. I lost my train of thought and nodded my head getting back to my feet. "Yeah, I did. I have an extra ticket. Um, would you like to join me, Rainbow?" I asked. Holding out one of the tickets. Her face light up an she shot up into the air with an array of colors following her path. When she looped around and landed back in front of me, she moved in closer to me. "Hay yeah! I would love to!" She looked down at the ticket again to read it. Her jaw nearly hit the floor as her eyes scanned over the three letters at the top. "How did you get V.I.P tickets?" she asked with shock in her voice. "A good friend of mine owed me a favor and this was his way of paying me back." I said with a smile on my face. "So I guess I'll pick you up tomorrow to head to the colosseum?" "You bet! But I never caught your name." she said with a smile and a raised eyebrow. "I'm Swift Breeze." I said holding out my hoof. "Great to meet ya!" she said giving me a brohoof. She thanked me again and began to fly away nearly screaming with joy. Than I heard Aerohead laughing from the cloud I had been standing on before. He must have seen the whole thing. "Wow, man! You were drooling all over her!" He said teasing. "No way! I know how to keep my cool around a lady! I remember when you first met Rarity and you couldn't speak a single word to the poor mare!" I said now teasing back. "Shut up, Breeze!" he replied embarrassed. "That's what I thought. Now, go home and model your wife's clothes like you always do. I got some things that need to be done." I said stretching my wings for flight. "Whatever, I'll see ya around!" He said taking off. "Later!" I yelled back to him. I stopped by Sugar Cube Bar for a drink. For some odd reason Mr. and Mrs. Cakes had a bar attached to the side now for more adult ponies who just wanted a decent drink and no sweets in their way. The shot of Whiskey trickled down my tongue and warmed by body from the chill of the room. I never really understood why alcohol did that. Even though I wasn't much of a drinker, It just calms me down to have some cider, or in my case now, whiskey in my stomach. I place the glass back down on the table and payed for the drink. I thanked the bartender with a few bits as a tip and made my way out the door. Than I headed back home. Unlike almost every pegasus I didn't have a cloud house, because I never really fancied a house that just floats in the skies. A little creepy, if you ask me. But I loved to sit on my windowsill and watch the sunset. I chewed an apple as I watched the rest of the sun disappear behind a mountain. Giving a loud yawn, I turn back into my house and jump into my bed. I couldn't believe it. I had just gotten a date with a beautiful mare! We were going to have the best time together at the show. But maybe she only thought I gave her the ticket as a friend. I had heard a rumor that she likes mares. But doesn't matter, though. I get to spend time with the mare I had fallen for. >Author's Note: Alright ponies, new fan-fic! I would like to know how this is turning out to you all. Please leave suggestions, comments, all that jazz. Everything is much appreciated! > Chapter 2: Let the Show Begin > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 2: Let the Show Begin I slowly opened my eyes to be blinded by the sun shining into my room. I place a hoof over my eyes and let out a loud yawn. The warmth of the sun was welcoming. The birds sang on the tree outside my window. I moved to the window to see the birds singing in harmony. My small vacation from work will be a good one. Not only does it last a little under a week, but I also get a chance to get to know Rainbow Dash more. I walked down the stairs to grab a cup of coffee and some wheat to chew on. I sat at the table and enjoyed the sunrise from out the window. After finishing my breakfast, I started to trot to Town Square. "Hey, Aerohead!" I shouted from across the market. I almost die of laughter when I saw him turn around with Rarity trying to put eyeliner on his face. "What the hay are you doing?" I said in between breaths.  "Rarity wants to see how this crud looks on ponies in the sunlight. And since the market had no mirror she tried the next best thing: her husband." He said whipping off the black make-up. "Please, darling! Don't tell me you don't like modeling for me. You look simply divine!" said Rarity holding her hooves out like she was looking through a camera lens.  "Whatever. I'd rather see this stuff on you anyway." Aerohead replied to Rarity and giving her a kiss. "Okay, I'll catch you two lovely ladies another time." I said with a laugh.  Aerohead turned back to the boutique annoyed. Rarity followed close by holding out more make-up with her magic. I let out a small laugh and began to walk down the road towards sweet apple acres for more of their cider. Suddenly I was smashed into a small metal scooter and an orange filly. I thought to myself what else is going to crash into me on my vacation? I sat up onto my flank and rubbed my head. I looked at the orange pony. She had a violet mane and a helmet strapped around her head. And instead of being in pain she was laughing her little head off. "That was awesome!" she screamed. "Calm down, Scootaloo. You almost hurt Breeze!" said a familiar white unicorn. "Oh, hey Sweetie Belle!" I said to the little filly. "You know this pony?" asked Scootaloo out of shock. "Yeah, he's Rarity's husband's friend. Breeze is always hanging around with Aerohead." she said helping the orange dare-pony up off the ground. "Wait, Breeze... Like Swift Breeze?" asked Scootaloo retrieving her scooter. "That's me." I said getting up on my hooves. "Oh, so you're taking Rainbow to the next Wonderbolts performance?" She asked stepping in closer. "Yeah, how did you know about that?" I asked the little filly. "I'm Dash's number one fan! She is so awesome. Rainbow was showing me her new stunts yesterday and she told me about you!" Said Scootaloo with a smile on her face. "Oh? What did she say about me?" I asked sitting down in front of her. "She said that you're probably the best pony in the world for getting the tickets and that she was really lucky to get to go with you." Hearing her say that brought a smile to my face and warmed my heart. "But anyway, c'mon Crusaders! We got flanks to un-blank!" she said pulling the other two fillies in a wagon with her scooter. After buying the drinks from the stand, I flew back home to prepare for my date with Rainbow.  The time had come. I need to get Rainbow to take her to the show. I got my Wonderbolts fan jacket then flew out the door. After finding her house, I flew to her porch and rang the doorbell. "Just a second!" she yelled from inside.  The door swung open and I saw Rainbow wearing a leather Wonderbolts jacket and goggles. "Are you ready?" I asked, even though it was pretty obvious she was. "Hay, yeah! Let's go!" she yelled, grabbing my hoof and flying up to the sky. After a few minutes of flight, We landed at the entrance to the colosseum. Rainbow looked at the line to enter that went on for miles. I tapped Dash on the shoulder. "We're V.I.P, remember?" I said pointing to the shorter line with a sign that read: V.I.P Access only. Her smile widened and followed close behind me. Once inside we sat in a separate set of stands that were filled with other crazy fans and some fancy dressed ponies. We sat down next to each other and Waited for the show to begin. An announcer hopped to the center of the stadium and turned on a mic. "Welcome, Ponies from all over the world! I want to welcome to the air..." He held a hoof up to the air and the crowd began to grow silent. "THE WONDERBOLTS!"  The crowd roared and Rainbow began to scream with her wings helping her get off the ground a little. She watched closely in awe along with the rest of the crowd. After an hour of constant sharp turns and dangerous tricks, the Wonderbolts made their way to to center of the stage to thank the fans and say their goodbyes. "Aren't they amazing?!" she yelled shaking me. "They're pretty good." I replied. "Pretty good!? They're fantastic! I've dedicated my life's goal to these ponies! I have perfected almost every one of their moves." She said tapping her chest with her hoof. "I'd like to see that." I said giving a friendly shove. "Is that a challenge I hear?" She said spreading her wings for flight. I accepted her challenge and followed to a clearing away from Ponyville.  I watched Dash take flight,  shocked that she had already picked up so much speed. She pulled hairpin turns around trees and flew straight through clouds, making the water held inside, follow the wind behind her. She suddenly stopped right in front of me And let the water splash onto her back. After a few seconds, a rainbow appeared above her head.  "Wow that was amazing! Is that you're signature move?" I asked, shocked by her performance. "Oh, please, that was nothing! I'm just getting started." Rainbow said, Taking flight again. This time she flew straight up into the air above the clouds. I couldn't see where she went, it was like she disappeared is the sky. Suddenly, I heard a few pops and a loud noise that sounded like something just went broke the sound barrier. Dash came back into view and pulled up, just mere inches away from the ground. An explosion of colors flooded the open field. Rainbow arched into the air and flew over the mountain. Surrounding it in a rainbow. My jaw wouldn't even budge, it was so agape. Rainbow landed in front of me again, laughing. "Wow, Breeze! You should see your face!" She said, teasing. "Ya know, you're pretty cool! I'd like to hang out again sometime. How about you meet me at town square tomorrow at 12?"  All I could do was nod my head. I couldn't speak because my mind was, quite literally, blown. I watched Dash wave goodbye and head of into the sky. I then turned back toward Ponyville and took flight. Still amazed at that pegasus, Rainbow Dash. >Author's Note: Sorry but I am vacationing in Florida so things may be a bit slow on updating until later this week. So I hope this will hold you over a little. > Chapter 3: A Day to Remember > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 3: A Day to Remember I rubbed my eyes from the best sleep I had in a while. Rainbow Dash was the only thing I had on my mind the entire rest of the night. I ate breakfast upstairs and drank the rest of my coffee on my porch. The sun was beautiful and the surrounding clouds were pink and orange. I took another sip of my coffee and went back inside to take a shower. After a few minutes of a relaxing shower, I stepped out and stood in the mirror. I combed back my mane and left my house to waste some time until I had to meet Rainbow. I decided to stop at Aerohead's house to see how he was doing. I made my way to the boutique and rang the bell. Aerohead opened the door and gave me a big smile. "Hey Breeze, Guess what!" Aerohead exlamed. "Um... Rarity finally found the perfect eyeliner for you?" I asked laughing at him.  "Ok shut up about that, but no. Rarity is pregnant!" He said now shaking me. "Oh, wow! Congratulations!" I said patting him on the shoulder. "Thanks! Lets get a celebratory drink at the bar, how does that sound?" He said grabbing a few bits. "I'm buying."  "Alright. But I don't want too much. I got to meet up with Rainbow at twelve." I said, following him down the street.  "Nah, you'll be fine." Aerohead said turning into the bar. After a few drinks I had a little buzz but I was fine. I could still walk, think, and talk right. But as for Aerohead, he may have taken a little too much. "Okay, I thinks its time we left, Aerohead." I said trying to give balance to the studdering stallion. "I guess you're right. *hic* I think I need a lay down." He said hardly making sense.  After a while I had gotten Aerohead out of the bar an to his home. There, Rarity gave him an angered look and thanked me for getting him home safe. ""Hellooooooo, lovely! Let's head upstairs and buck up the a-" thankfully the rest of his words were cut off by the door slamming shut.  I turned my head to the clock tower. It was 12:19 I was a tad late. So I instantly began to sprint to town square to meet Rainbow. I stood at town square looking for the cyan pegasus, but I couldn't seem to find her.  "Hey, Breeze! Up here!" a voice called. I turned my head to the skies, and sure enough, Rainbow Dash was lying up on a cloud waving at me. I spread my wings and took flight. She moved over on the cloud and I sat down next to her. "Hey Dash! Sorry I'm late. So what do you want to do today?" I asked folding my wings back down. "Nah it's okay. Hey, do I smell alcohol on you?" She said sniffing the air, close to me. "Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. My friend wanted to celebrate his wife's, Rarity's, pregnancy. So he decided to get some drinks with me. But things got a little out of hand and I had to basically walk him home." I explaned. "Wow, that's pretty cool. I never knew Rarity was into the whole 'mother' thing." she said looking out to Rarity's boutique. "I guess so." I replied. "So what do you want to do?" She asked laying on her back. "I'm not sure. I kinda was hoping you had something planned. Any ideas?" I answered, giving a little laugh. "Well, since you decided to get a drink without me, I think we should go get a few together." She replied giving me a smile. I never knew that she drank. But i'm sure I couldn't handle anymore than the state that I am in now. "I'm not sure. I am pretty buzzed as is. Surely if I drink more, I'll be just as bad as my friend." I said scratching the back of my head and laughing. "Hm.... I guess you're right. What about the beach." She said point a hoof into the distance. "I never knew you liked the beach, Rainbow." I said smiling. "Well, it's a really nice place to relax, after a long days work of clearing the skies." She said getting up off her back. "Okay, the beach it is. Race ya there?" I said spreading my wings for flight. "You bet!" She said with a smile and narrowed eyes. Rainbow counted down from three and we both took off. I had forgotten how fast I could fly. I hardly ever fly at my top speed. It was enough to keep up with Rainbow, but than a few pops started to echo through the sky and she blew right by me. Another sonic rainboom. The colors filled the sky and she left a line of beautiful colors that came from her tail and mane. After enjoying the sight for a few I landed next to a prancing Rainbow Dash on the hot sand. "Looks like I won, eh Breeze?" She said teasing me. "That, you did Rainbow." I said, defeated. Suddenly, I was on my back in the sand. Rainbow had pounced on top of me and pinned me down. "What now, tough guy?" She said giving me a smile and narrowed her eyes. "This!" I pushed my hooves onto her chest and lifted myself up with my back hooves and wings. I pushed Rainbow on her back and I pinned her down to the sand.  "That all you got?" I said giving her the same look. "I'm just getting started!" she said.  We rolled down the beach for a while. Rainbow would get on me than I would get on her. We did this repeatedly and laughed the whole time. Our fun had stopped once we hit the cold water of the ocean. Dash and I shot up out of the water and began to shiver.  "That water is so cold!" Dash exclaimed. "Nah you'll get used to it. See?" I said giving her a push. She landed in the water and laughed.  "Hey! Alright we'll play like that." Rainbow said grabbing my hoof. She pulled me in and began to splash the cold water on me. The salt water had made its way into my mouth. I began to spit the salty liquid out of my mouth and looked at Rainbow Dash. She was laughing and started to make he way to the shore I followed close by. "That was pretty fun, Breeze." she said sitting in the sand. "I think so too." I replied sitting next to her.  We sat and talked for what seemed to be hours. I could never be bored around her. There were millions of stories to be told between us. The sun had began to set out at the ocean. The water in front of us had turned orange lead out to the horizon. Where the red sun had been setting.  "It's so..." Rainbow said "Beautiful." I finished, looking at Rainbow.  Her eyes opened wide in shock and I had just realized what I had said. I instantly blushed from embarrassment and turned my gaze back to the ocean. I could feel my cheeks as if they were on fire. One cheek had suddenly cooled as something collided with them. Rainbow had given me a kiss on the cheek. I almost died, my heart was beating so hard. I looked over to her to see her cheeks were flared red too. But she wasn't looking away. She continued to look at me with her beautiful pink eyes and a small smile that made my heart melt. I put a hoof around Rainbow and slid her close to me. She rested her head on my chest and we both continued to look out towards the horizon. We sat in this embrace for a while as the sun had made its way down below the horizon. Suddenly both of our stomachs had began to rumble and we both gave a small laugh. "How about we grab a bite to eat?" I asked. "Okay. Where to?" She said standing up with me. We flew back to Ponyville and the stars had began to come out and the town clock read 7:25. We landed in front of a restaurant that didn't seem too romantic but not too bad. We stepped inside and sat down. The waiter gave us our menus and we had decided to get the buffet. I grabbed two sunflower sandwiches and some red potatoes. Rainbow had gotten a dandelion sandwich and hay fries. We both enjoyed our meal and each other's company. I payed for the bill and we walked outside. Rainbow told me about how she had became the best young flyer and how she pulled off her first sonic rainboom. It was always a great time to listen to her stories. She would go into great detail about her flying. I flew Rainbow to her house since she had a cloud house and it was in the sky.  "I had a really great day with you Rainbow."  I said standing on her porch. "I did too, Breeze." She said smiling and opening her door behind her. "Have a good night. I'll see you around." I said spreading my wings and returning her smile. "Wait, Breeze." She said from her doorway.  I turned back to see Dash walking toward me and giving a kiss on my lips. Once they collided she closed her eyes and began to blush. I felt shocked but I felt as if the whole world melted away around us. The night's chill suddenly went away as my heart began to beat at a high speed. I closed my eyes and moved my lips with hers. After a few seconds of our embrace, Dash pulled away and wrapped her hooves around me. "Thank you." she said hugging me. "For what?" I asked. "For a great time." she replied. "Oh, anytime, Dash." I said. She let me go and I waved goodbye. I took off from the ground and started to fly back to my house. I laughed when I heard a faint: 'awesome!' no doubt it was Rainbow. > Chapter 4: Confessions > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 4: Confessions I sat outside under a tree nearby my house the next morning. The birds above sang loud in perfect harmony. I flew up and plucked a shiny red apple of the tree and landed back down in the shade. I took a bite and chewed the sweet fruit. I sat there and thought about the kiss I shared with Dash yesterday. The feeling of being much closer to her makes me want to fly forever. I would risk my life in any situation to be with her. I took another bite and set the apple on the ground next to me. I spread my wings and took flight. Maybe Rainbow Dash was out somewhere practicing her techniques. She always would be found in the skies, but not this time. There was no sight of her anywhere. I flew to where she took me before and sat under the tree to rest. I looked around, yet there was no Rainbow to be seen anywhere. I thought she must be at her home. I flew to her house and there was no answer. After flying back to Ponyville I just figured she went out. She tells me about the times she hangs out with her friends, so she must be on another adventures with them. The bar seemed a little empty but I still went inside to grab a drink. I then realized that Aerohead was kinda messed up yesterday, so I payed the bartender and left to check up on him. After his little party from the other night, it would be best to see how he was holding up. After a walk to the boutique I knocked on the door and small little dragon with purple and green scales answered the door.  "Um... Is Aerohead home?" I asked the small dragon. "Yeah he is here. Who are you?" The dragon asked. "I'm Swift Breeze, a friend of Rarity and Aerohead." I responded. Suddenly the dragons eyes opened wide and smiled.  "Ohhh. So you must be who they're all talking about." He said. "What you mean?" I asked. "Who is it Spike?" shouted a voice from inside. "Its Breeze, Twilight." He responded to her. Suddenly a loud clatter of hooves made their way to the doorway. I saw Rarity and 4 other ponies who I didn't recognise. A yellow pegasus was hiding behind her light pink mane behind them. A pink pony was bouncing up and down with a large smile on her face. A purple unicorn with a dark violet mane stood next to Rarity. And a bright orange pony wearing a hat. "Hello, Breeze. I bet youre here to see Aerohead?" Rarity said. "I am actually, just to see how he was holding up from yesterday." I said looking around. "Of course. But where are my manners Let me introduce you to my friends. This is Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight Sparkle. And this little dragon is Spike. Please come in!" she said pointing at all the other mares in the room. "It's a pleasure to meet you all." I said stepping into the house.  "I bet you would like to know who else is here." Rarity said stepping close to me. "Oh, who may that be?" I said looking for anypony I didn't see before.  "Hey, Breeze." Said a voice from the dining room. I looked around the corner to see Rainbow Dash trotting towards me. "Hey Rainbow! What are you doing here?" I asked her. "I was had a little meeting with the girls over tea." She said pointing to the table that had tea cups and some snacks laid out on the table. "Oh, I'm terribly sorry to interrupt. I could come back to see Aerohead another time." I said apologizing to the mares who stood around the room. "Oh it's not a big problem." Rainbow said to me. "We were just about to finish up here anyway." she said leading me back towards the door. "I really don't want to take you away the fun with your friends, Rainbow." I said starting to feel bad for interrupting.  "Oh, please. Were not having any fun. Trust me." Rainbow said to me. "I'll see you girls later!" she said before shutting the door behind us. We walked around town for a while in silence, so I decided to start a conversation. "I heard from the dragon that you were talking about me in there?" I said giving her a nudge. "Spike can never keep his mouth shut." she mumbled to herself. A small blush grew over her cheeks and she bit her bottom lip. "What's the matter? I don't mind if you talk about me. Everypony has their opinions." I said to her giving a smile. She seemed to be in shock by what I said. "Oh! We said nothing bad! We just... Talked about us being together." She said  to me. "What do you-.... Never mind." I sat down under a tree and she sat down next to me. After a while of silence. Rainbow started to speak again. "The girls don't think you're right for me." She said burying her head in my chest, expecting a loud reaction from me. "I understand." I said looking up to the sky. I felt Rainbow's head move and I looked back down to her. She had a quizzical look on her face. "Rainbow, when I first met you, I thought I wasn't good enough for you. You're the fastest flyer in Equestria. You won the best young flyer's competition, and your going to be a star one day. But the best part is, your the most beautiful mare in Equestria. So I understand if your friends, or you, think I'm not good enough for you. Because I am just your normal Ponyville Pegasus. You've got a lot of potential Dash, and that can take somepony like you very far in life." I looked away from her and turned my gaze back to the sky.  She grabbed my chin and turned my head to face hers. I watched a single tear roll down her cheek and I instantly wiped it away. She pulled me in and kissed deeply. She let her tongue force its way in between my lips and I let it slide in. We move our heads and tongues in harmony. Her tongue swayed over mine and sent chills up my spine. We both opened our eyes and slowly pulled away. "There's no way I'd leave you. And you're anything but normal, Breeze." she said pulling me into a hug.  "Thank you, Dash. That means a lot." I said wrapping my hooves around her. "I love you, Breeze..." She said sinking her head onto my shoulder. This shocked me. My heart skipped a beat as she said it. I just said it was okay to leave me. But she told me she loved me. I had to let her know that I feel the same. "I love you too, Dash. And no one can love you a much as I can." I whispered. She gave a small squeal and hugged me tighter.  > Chapter 5: A Night In Hooves > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5: A Night In Hooves I grabbed my cup and moved to my window beside my bed. I starred out into the night sky and watched the moon start to fall. I wasn't able to sleep that night. Something in me felt missing. It was Rainbow. After we said our goodbyes yesterday, the moon had began to rise. Rainbow wanted me to come inside. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't risk anything. I didn't want things to go too fast in between us. But now I regret ever leaving her there. She understood why I didn't want to rush things. But I feel that she hated the fact I wouldn't stay. Rain had began to fall and I shut my window. The rain reminded me of my work that had to start up again in a few days. I went downstairs and sat on my couch and sipped the rest of my coffee from the cup. Suddenly, a couple of knocks echoed throughout my home. I stood up and slowly opened the door to see a drenched Rainbow Dash standing in the cold rain. "What are you doing Dash? Come in out of the rain." I said opening the door.  She walked inside and I grabbed a towel from the bathroom. I heard her sniffling as she shivered on the floor of my home. I quickly wrapped the towel around her and moved her to the fireplace. After a few attempts it ignited and I stepped into the kitchen to grab some warm coffee. I handed her the cup and she began to drink the liquids inside. I pulled her close to me, to comfort and warm her. "Why were you out in the rain, Dash?" I asked her in a whisper. "I couldn't stay away from you. I couldn't sleep once you left, and I had to come see you. You don't have to have... Sex with me, Breeze. I just want to be in your embrace again." she said in between sniffles.  "I'm not going anywhere, Dash. And to tell you the truth. I couldn't sleep well either. You've been on my mind since I left you at your home. And I apologize that I didn't stay. I probably should have." I said holding her. "I don't want to seem needy to you, Breeze. But can I stay with you for the night?" She asked placing the cup on the floor. "Rainbow, I'm not going to kick you back out into the rain. You can stay here for as long as you want. I love you, and I realize now that I will do anything that will make you happy." I said kissing her on the head. "Thank you, Breeze." She said laying her head on my shoulder. I watched as the fire crackled and burned away. Rainbow had fall asleep and I could feel her breathing on my shoulder. I carefully picked her up and hovered up the stairs to my room. I figured I would give her the bed as I took the couch. I put her on the bed and she rested her head on the covers and I placed the covers over her and began to slowly walk out the room. Then I heard movement in the bed. "Wait, Breeze." Dash said, half asleep. "Please, can you sleep with me?"  I turned back and nodded my head. I flicked off the light and made my way towards the bed. I hopped on and climbed under with the covers with Dash. She cuddled up to me and rested her head on my chest. I wrapped a hoof around her and pulled her in closer to share warmth.  "Goodnight, Dash." I whispered "Goodnight, Breeze. And thank you for letting me stay." she whispered back. I gave her a kiss on the head and laid my head back down on the pillow. I felt my eyes grow heavy and Rainbow's breathing became steady again and slow. She was already in a deep sleep and I had gotten tired myself. I let the darkness embrace me and I fell into a deep sleep. I opened my eyes and saw the back of Rainbow Dash. Her mane was spread over her pillow and she was still asleep. I smiled and got out of the bed. I checked the time and it was two in the afternoon. We had overslept because we both couldn't sleep most of the night. Looking in the mirror, I combed back my mane and stepped out of the bathroom. I walked downstairs and saw the towel and cup still near the fireplace. I picked them up and placed the towel in the hamper and the cup in the sink. I heard the steps creek from somepony walking down them.  "Good morning." she said with a large smile on her face.  "Good morning' Dash, how are you feeling?" I asked her. "I feel fine. I'm sorry I troubled you last night." She said sitting down on my couch. "You were no trouble at all Dash." I said with a smile. I grabbed two cups and filled them with coffee. I brought her one and set it in front of her. She thanked me and took a sip. "I'll stay at my place tonight. I just couldn't stop thinking about you last night." She said setting the cup down. "Dash, you can do whatever you think is right." I said sipping the hot liquid from my cup. We both finished our drinks and she followed me outside. We both sat under the tree and held hoofs. We starred up to the sky and named what the clouds looked like. I grabbed two apples from the tree above and handed her one. We both ate and threw the cores away.  "How about we go for a walk around town?" I asked. "Sure thing!" she said stretching and standing up. We trotted close together to town square and stopped at a few places to see what they had. I wanted to buy a guitar, but I decided that the only thing I would do with it would just make loud noise and anger the ponies around me. But maybe someday I'll learn how to play for Rainbow. We sat outside at a restaurant for dinner. It was an old-fashioned diner so we both shared a milkshake and hay-fries. I took a sip from the straw and I leaned in a little too far. The straw slid into the whipped cream and Rainbow giggled at me. "What's so funny?" I asked her. She lifted up one hoof and rubbed my muzzle. She moved her hoof back to show my the whipped cream that was once stuck on my face. She put her hoof to her hoof to her mouth and licked it clean. All I could think was how adorable it was, even though it was really cliche. I smiled and gave her the cherry. She smiled and took it an popped it into her mouth along with the stem. She seemed to move her jaw around like she was getting something out of her teeth. I looked at her confused because I had no idea what she was doing. She opened her mouth and pulled out the stem. She held it out and showed me the stem. Sh had tied it into a not with her tongue. "That's pretty impressive, Rainbow." I said holding the stem. "Thank you." she said taking a sip of the milkshake.  "You know, Aerohead told my that tying a knot in a cherry stem means your a good kisser." I said holding the stem up. She instantly blushed not knowing about this rumor. She grew one of her determined smiles and she laughed.  "Of course! Because I-" She tried to say before I decided to take it from there. "Because you're the best at everything Dashie." I said leaning in to kiss her. We closed our eyes and than pulled away. "Yep, that rumor is true, Dash." I said sitting back in my chair. She smiled and blushed again. I payed for our small dinner and began to walk away from the diner. "Dash would you like to stay at my place again?" I asked her. "I would love to, Breeze." She said, cuddling up to my chest.  We trotted back to my home and enjoyed the sunset under the tree again. She laid her head on my shoulder and I rested my head on hers. We watched the sun finally disappear in the distance. The sky held no clouds today. Most of the cloud have been cleared by the other weather patrol ponies. Than I realized Dash and I start back up work again.  "Are you upset that we start work tomorrow?" I asked. She responded with a sigh and put her hooves to her face.  "Don't worry. We get Hearth's Warming  Break in a few weeks anyway." I said. She cheered up and looked at me with her beautiful pink eyes. I just now noticed the days were getting shorter and the air was a lot colder. Just being near Rainbow kept my mind off it. I always felt warm and at home near her.  "Please don't leave me, Breeze." she whispered to me. "I'm not going anywhere, Dashie." I said returning the hug she gave me. We looked into each other's eyes and we leaned in. We both closed our eyes and kissed. Our lips touched and I could still taste the sweetness of the milkshake from before. I broke the kiss slowly and we both opened our eyes. I stood up and told her to follow me inside, out of the cold.  > Chapter 6: The Morning After > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 6: The Morning After I woke up the next morning and found myself holding Dash in my arms. I brushed the her mane from her face and she slowly opened her eyes. "Good morning." She whispered. "Morning Dashie." I whispered back. I yawned and stretched. I sat up out of the bed and Rainbow did the same. We both walked downstairs with smiles on our faces. I grabbed two cups and filled them with coffee and handed one to Dash. She took a sip and set it on the table in front of her. I held mine in my hooves and sat on the couch next to her. Rainbow leaned her head on my shoulder and took another sip of her coffee. My back was sore from our time last night. I stretched out and heard my spine crack. Rainbow laughed. "We got work in a hour. We should probably get ready." I said. Rainbow stopped laughing and looked depressed. "Don't worry. We have the same shifts today." I said wrapping a hoof around her. A smile grew on her face and closed her eyes. "I'm going to take a shower. Would you like to join me?" I asked hopping off the couch. She nodded her head and followed me to the bathroom. I turned on the water and stepped inside. Dash stepped in and we stood close together to share the water. We helped clean each other and kissed under the hot water. I turned off the shower and we dried off. I cleared the fog of the window and combed back my mane. Rainbow shook the water out of her mane and looked like her normal hair. She didn't even need a brush. We walked outside my house and spread our wings. We took flight and soared towards the weather patrol station. We checked in and grabbed our gear from the locker rooms. I looked for Aerohead, but there was no sign of him. Maybe he was late? Or maybe he had a different shift that me. I waited for Rainbow out front and we took off. We both cleared the sky in no time at all. Rainbow could do it herself in less than a minute, but we both cleared a lot of ground in a few hours of work. All of Ponyville had clear skies, but the sky now had to be filled with snow clouds. It was winter now and Hearth's Warming was right around the corner. Rainbow had finished pushing her clouds over Ponyville and helped me finish the rest of mine. "Thanks a lot, Rainbow. But you didn't need to help me." I said landing in front the entrance to the station. "I just wanted to give a helping hoof." She said walking towards the doors. "Well I appreciate it." I said opening the doors for her. I followed her inside and went to the locker rooms. Still no sign of Aerohead. His locker hadn't been touched. I threw my googles and vest inside and walked to the front desk. "Hey did Aerohead show up for work today, or does he have separate hours?" I asked the mare behind the desk. She flipped through the sign in sheet. "No, he had hours today. But he didn't sign in." She said looking back up to me. "Huh... Alright thanks." I said turning back to the doors. Rainbow was waiting outside for me. "Whats up?" She asked concerned. "My friend didn't check in today. He never misses work. Must be because of the foal he is having with Rarity." I said trotting towards her. "Oh, yeah. I forgot Rarity was pregnant." She said looking out to the distance. Rainbow hadn't talked to her friends in a while, I assume because they tried to break us apart. But I didn't want to keep her away from her best friends. "You should speak to your friends, Dash." I said flying next to her. "Yeah, we haven't spoke in a while. I think I'll go alone though." Dash said looking down towards Ponyville. "I understand. I'll be at my house, but I want to stop and get a drink first." I said to her. She nodded her head and flew down towards a cottage out in the forest. I flew down and walked the rest of the way to the bar. I stepped inside and the sudden burst of cold air, cooled the sweat in my mane. I sat in a chair and ordered a drink. He mixed the drink into a glass and slid it down towards me. I took a sip and let the liquid pour over my tongue. It was a strong drink, but I held it down well. I heard soft sniffling noises and glasses clattering to my left. I turn my head and looked down the bar. I saw Aerohead holding his head up with a hoof in the bar. He lifted a shot of liquor and drank it down. I moved from my seat and sat next to him. "Aerohead, whats going on, man? Why didn't you come to work today?" I asked placing a hoof on his shoulder. He instantly brushed it away and requested another drink. I told the bar keeper to cut him off his liquor, he clearly had enough already. "It's Rarity, Breeze... She miscarried the foal." He said letting another tear roll down his face. He slammed a hoof on the bar and let out a grunt. "And it's all my fault." "Damn... I'm really sorry. But these things just happen. Don't blame this on yourself." I said trying to calm him. "No, it is my fault. She was working too hard and was under a lot of stress. The doctor said that all of that hormone just..." he choked under his sobbing. "Killed it...but I think it's a lot of crap." he finished. "Where is she now? Why aren't you with her?" I asked. "As soon as we got home. Rarity broke down and began to cry on the couch. I tried to comfort her, but she just said she wanted to be alone." He said moving the empty glasses in front of him. "Aero, she may have said that but she really was saying please don't go. She has nopony else to comfort her. You're her husband, you need to be there for her. Remember the vows you made to her. You'll stay with her for-" I was cut off by Aerohead who was slowly lifting his head. "In sickness and health. For better or worse... Damn it, you're right!" He said getting off his seat. He dashed out the door and ran straight to the boutique. I watched him and sipped the rest of my drink down. Than I payed for the drinks that Aerohead drank, including my own. I walked out into the cold and looked up to the sky. The once clear skies have turned to a milky, gray. The snow was scheduled to fall tomorrow and I always enjoyed watching it fall during the night. I walked into the house and started the fireplace. I sat on the couch and watched the fire spread over the logs. A knock at the door woke me from my gaze at the fire. I opened the door to see Rainbow Dash smiling. "Hey, I guess you patched things up with our friends?" I asked as I opened the door. "Would you like to come in?" "Thanks." she said, entering the house. "I did we had a nice talk and caught up on things." "Well, that's good to hear." I said closing the door behind her. "Would you like to do something today?" "Sure, what do you have in mind?" she asked. "Well, how about we melt some marshmallows on the fire?" I asked her holding a bag of the white puffy candy. "Awesome! I haven't done this in forever!" she said taking one of the tongs I held in the other hoof. We both sat in front of the fire and held the sticks in the fire. I pulled my stick from the flame and blew on it. The marshmallow had turned golden-brown and had a crispy outside. I heard a little sigh come from Rainbow. I looked to her and saw her with a frown. She looked at the burn marshmallow and blew the flames away. "Like I said, I haven't done this in a while." she said laughing. "Here, switch." I said letting out a small laugh. We swapped sticks and she looked at my marshmallow in amazement. "Thanks!" she said popping the marshmallow in her mouth. I looked down to her burnt marshmallow bit into it. The crispy shell melted away in my mouth and I chewed the gooey center. I looked over to Rainbow and her face lit up in enjoyment. I smiled as I saw her chew the marshmallow. We ate a few more and finally decided to stop there. "Would you like some hot chocolate?" I said putting a pot of water on the stove and began to heat it up. "Yes please!" She said hopping up onto the couch. We sat on the couch and watched the fire together. I felt Rainbow snuggle up to me and rest her head on my hooves. "Did you hear what happened to Rarity?" I whispered. "Yeah, I feel so bad. How's Aero?" She asked looking up at me. "He was in pretty bad shape. But I'm not so sure now. I hope that he is still with her." I said looking back to the fire. "Me too." She said setting her head back to onto my hoofs. We sat with each other a while longer and Dash said she had to stay at her place, and I didn't mind that at all. "I'm sorry to leave, but I'm sure that Fluttershy is tired of pet-sitting Tank." she said. "I love you, and I'll see you tomorrow." "I love you too, Dash." I said. We kissed goodbye and stayed in a hug for a while. She pulled away and flew off into the sky. I watched her turn to a little spec and the disappear behind the clouds. I looked down to the ground and let out my breath. The air escaping from my muzzle turned to a fog and I watched it fade away. Turning back into my house, I smiled and felt warm in the cold night. > Chapter 7: Snow Day > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7: Snow Day A few days passed and winter was finally here. I Rainbow and I decided to move in together sometime. I had really thought about it for a while and decided it would make a pretty good present. It was the day before Hearth's Warming Eve afterall. I watched the snow fall and cover the roads outside. The morning was cold and bitter. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a pot, filled it with water, and pit it on the stove. I grabbed the hot chocolate powder and poured it into a cup. The water began to boil and I poured it into the cup and mixed it. I sipped the hot coco and stood at my window. After finishing the coco, I placed the cup in the sink. I watched the snow fall for a while and decided to head out to get some food for the house. I grabbed my bags and threw a scarf around my neck. I walked outside and shivered in the cold, then began to trot to the market district. The ponies were having fun in the snow together. One family in particular caught my eye. The father and mother were making a snow-pony. Just seeing them happily spending their time together warmed my heart. I hoped someday that Rainbow and I would have a family someday. I smiled and started to walk to the food stalls outside. I bought some apples and bread. Then I saw Aerohead shopping with Rarity. I decided to leave them be, because they seemed to be enjoying themselves. I stopped at a jewelry shop and stepped inside. I looked around and saw a necklace that was shaped like Rainbow's cutie-mark. I picked it up and held it up. I watched it shine in the light, and I knew this would be perfect for her. I brought it up to the jeweler and set it on the desk in front of him. "Ah, yes. This is 600 bits. Shall I wrap it for you?" He said pulling out a rod of colorful wrapping paper. "That will be fine." I reached into my bag and pulled out the bits. I set them on the table and he began to wrap the small box. He handed me the gift and I stuck it deep in my bags. Snow began to fall again and the little foals and fillies played out in the snow. I made my way back home and hid Rainbow's gift. I put the food in the pantry and sat on the couch. The fire had began to warm the room again and I looked out the window and watched it sprinkle down on the roads. Some ponies from the weather patrol were plowing the roads, clearing the snow for the other ponies to get around easier. I watched them trot through the snow with smiles on their faces. They seemed so happy to be working on the day before Hearth's Warming, and I didn't quite understand why. Rainbow trotted through the snow towards my house and I opened the door for her. She had a big smile on her face. "Why so happy, Dash?" I laughed. "I just had a good time in town today with the girls." She responded. "Would you like to join me in the snow?" I asked, looping a scarf around my neck. "Ok!" She turned back towards me with excitement. "I mean, uh, sure... Why not." She said, now calming her attitude. "How does a snow-pony sound to you?" I asked opening the door. "Sure!" she said in her childish way she responded in before. I chuckled and we left out the door. We trotted outside and and I began to roll snow into a big pile. The ball became pretty decent sized and I rolled it to the front of the house. Rainbow was making a medium sized one for the body. She picked it up and flew it to the larger ball and places it ontop. Finally I rolled the head and placed it onto the torso. "Hang on." I said sprinting back Inside the house. I grabbed a carrot and a hat. Rainbow was putting rock buttons and eyes on it and I finished it with the hat and carrot. We stood in front of our masterpiece and we gave each other a brief kiss on the lips. Dash suddenly flew away and landed behind a nearby pile of snow. She ducked her head behind it and I stood there wondering what she was doing. I stepped closer and Dash sprung up from the snow barricade with snow-balls in her hoof. My eyes shot open as I saw her bring one of her hooves behind her head. "Oh cra-" I muttered as she pelted my face with a snow-ball. The rough snow turned to powder as it collided with my face. I laughed and cleared my eye of the freezing cold snow. "You're gonna get it now, Dashie!" I yelled scooping up a hoof of snow. I brought my hoof back and threw the snow at her. She turned and the snow pelted her back. She let out a small giggle and turned back towards me. My jaw dropped as she began to dip her hooves into the snow and throwing them at me. She had suddenly become a mini-gun that shot snowballs and an amazing rate. I sprinted and slid behind another pile of snow to shield me. I popped my head out just enough to see where she was. A smile grew on my face when I saw she was under the snow-covered tree. I looked around and picked up a rock. I jumped up and launched the rock at the tree. Once it collided with the bark, the snow on the branches shook and begin to fall. She looked up and saw the blanket of snow land on her. I fell in the cold snow and began to laugh. "How was that Dash?" I said in triumph of my victory. "You okay Dash?" I said still chuckling. No response. "Dash... Dashie?" I said, now concerned. "Rainbow Dash!" I yelled, sprinting towards the large pile of snow. "Hang on Dashie!" I yelled scooping up large portions of snow. I kept digging and it had already been too long for any pony to resist this much cold. Water begun to fill my eyes and warmed my cheek as it rolled down. Suddenly Rainbow sprung out from under me and pulled me into a hug. "Gotcha!" she said laughing. Suddenly she stopped and her face filled with concern. "Why are you crying?" "Never mind that..." I said reaching up and hugging her. She was freezing cold and I felt her shivering. "How about we head back inside, Dash?" I asked laying back down in the snow. "Sounds good to me, Breeze." She said hopping off me. Back inside the house, I poured some hot chocolate into two cups and gave one to Dash. We sat on the floor and watched the fireplace burn away the wood. I loved being with Dash, and I wanted to spend forever with her, I didn't like leaving her side. Rainbow and I stayed up and talked about our future together. One day we will move in with one another. Either I lived in her cloud home, or she stayed with me on the ground. One day, we'll make the decision. I noticed that Rainbow had fallen asleep on my lap. I blew the last embers out of the fire and carried Dash upstairs to my bed. I climbed in with her and we fell asleep together in the warmth of each other's hooves. >Author's Note: I don't think that I am getting Rainbow's personality right. Anyone else think this too? Please tell me if I'm doing things wrong! I know grammar and spelling can be a bit messed up, but that is fixable. Getting the traits of a character is a big screw up for me. To those people who wanted a clop scene, I'm very sorry. I am horrible at writing clop and will try my best to learn how to write it better in the future. Please leave your comments, everything is much appreciated! > Chapter 8: Heath's Warming Eve > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 8: Hearth's Warming I opened my eyes and saw that Rainbow was asleep. I snuck out of the bed an moved down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. I made some pancakes and eggs and placed them on a plate. I brought the plate up to Rainbow who I woke with a small shake on the shoulder. "Nnnn... What is this, Breeze?" She asked rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Breakfast in bed. Happy Hearth's Warming Eve, Dashie." I said, setting the plate on her lap. "Thank you so much, Breeze." She said taking a bite of the maple covered pancakes. A smile grew on her face as she took another bite. I grabbed an apple from downstairs and brought it back up to my room. Sitting on the bed next to Rainbow, I took a bite of the apple. Rainbow looked over to me and I looked down to her plate. The plate was empty and she had some syrup on her mouth. I took the empty plate and licked the syrup from her lip. She slipped her tongue out and they met. We began to kiss and I got on top of her. I thought to myself that maybe an early present wasn't so bad. After we finished, I looked into her eyes and we kissed again. I picked up the empty plate again to finally bring it to the sink. I placed the plate down in the sink and went back upstairs to Rainbow. She was fixing her mane in the mirror and I did the same. With a few swipes of a brush, my mane was slicked back again, and Dash had her usual punk-styled, rainbow mane again. We trotted downstairs and sat down on the couch. We talked about how we spent Hearth's Warming with our family. Rainbow would go to Cloudsdale and I would go to Canterlot to meet our parents, but we decided that we would rather be with each other. I grabbed my gift and held it out to Dash. "Breeze, you didn't have to get me anything." She said slowly reaching out to the box. She unwrapped the gift and looked at the dark purple box. As she opened the box, she gasped. "Awesome! It my cutie-mark! Thank you so much, Breeze! I love you." She said hugging me. I helped her put on the necklace and she looked down at it as it hung from her neck. She looked up at me and smiled. "Wait here, I'll get my gift. She sprung off the couch and opened the door. I watched her from the window as she flew up into the sky. A few minutes later she came back and I opened the door for her. She held out a large box and I lifted it from her hooves. I looked down at the tag and read: "To: Breeze, Love Rainbow Dash" I unwrapped the box and opened it. Inside was black case that had two clips on each end. I unhooked them and opened it up. Inside was a dark blue and white guitar. I held it in my hooves and watched the paint shine in the light. "Dash... Thank you so much! I promise I'll play for you one day. I haven't even touched a guitar since I moved out of my parents house." I said placing the guitar back in it's case. I leaned in and kissed Dash. She pulled back and broke the kiss. "I've got another gift for you, but it needs to wait until tomorrow." She whispered. "I can't wait." I said back. We decided to make a cake together to have for desert. Rainbow wasn't much of a baker, but I taught her some of the basics. She opened the flour with her mouth. Big mistake. She took a small inhale and began to sniffle. I looked over to her and she sneezed. The flour covered the room and our faces. We opened our eyes and starred at each other for a second. I began to chuckle and Dash bursted out in laughter. The flour made Dash look like a rainbow covered ghost. But, since my coat is white, it didn't have much of an effect on me. We cleaned our mess and I opened the flour this time. I added some eggs and water. Dash grabbed the sugar and vegetable oil and poured some in. The batter was almost done and Rainbow wanted a taste of the chocolate mix. I took a spoon and dabbed a little on her muzzle. Rainbow stuck her tongue out and tried to lick it off herself. I watched her attempt lick it off and I thought it was the most adorable sight. She gave me a small smile and kissed me on the top of the muzzle. She turned back to the mix and poured it into a pan. I turned the oven on and placed the pan on the rack inside. Dash and I heard a knock at the door and we went to go and see who it was. I opened the door to see three little fillies wearing hats and scarves. "Crusaders Caroling Crew!" shouted Scootaloo. She was with her two friends Applebloom and Sweetie Belle. I looked towards a big red pony who was pulling a cart that seemed to be hauling a keyboard and a small guitar. "Oh, boy. Scoots.... What are you doing now?" Asked Rainbow Dash with a smile. "Were trying to get our cutie marks by caroling! Can we sing for you and Dash, Breeze?" the little filly asked. I looked over to Rainbow and she shrugged. I smiled and looked back to them and nodded. "Let's hear it!" I said leaning in the door-way. Scootaloo grabbed the guitar and threw the strap around her neck. Applebloom grabbed the keyboard from the cart. Sweetie Belle didn't have an instrument but she began to read over a piece of paper that probably had lyrics written on them. "Okay, girls! Let's get these marks!" Scootaloo shouted. Scootaloo began to strum the guitar at a slow pace and filled the outdoors with a beautiful song. Applebloom tapped keys on the piano and seemed to be in harmony with the guitar. Sweetie Belle took a deep breath and began to sing. The snow's comin' down. I'm watching it fall. Watching the ponies around. Baby, please come home... The church bells in town, They're ringing this song. What a happy sound. Baby, please come home.. . My ears shot up as I heard the most beautiful singing voice. She swayed with the music and held her eyes closed. Her voice sounded like a heavenly opera. They finished their song shortly after and Sweetie Belle jumped and down to cheer for her own performance. But as for Scootaloo and Applebloom, they starred at her. Their jaws were left agape. "What is it?" Sweetie Belle asked her friends. Rainbow tapped my shoulder and pointed her hoof to Sweetie Belle's flank. There was a pink and purple note where her blank spot used to be. Scootaloo slowly raised her shaking hoof to Sweetie Belle too. Sweetie turned around and saw her mark and her eyes went wide in shock. "Oh boy..." Dash said holding her hooves to he ears. I looked at her confused than a loud shriek came from Sweetie Belle. I clenched my ears shut and waited for the brigade of screams to stop. Scootaloo ran up to Sweetie and began to congratulate her. But I looked a Applebloom, she was sitting behind her keyboard, and crying. "Wow this is great!" shouted Scootaloo. "Don't ya think so, Applebloom." scootaloo turned to her friend and saw her looking down towards the snow, still sitting there. "Whats the matter Applebloom?" asked Sweetie Belle walking over to her friend. "Well, I'm upset. Because now that you have your cutie-mark, you don't need to hang out with us anymore." Applebloom said sniffling and letting a tear out. "Are you crazy! I'm a crusader forever! And you two haven't gotten yours yet. If you girls are still blank-flanks, than I am too." Sweetie Belle said pulling her friend into a hug. The three got into a group hug and Rainbow and I closed the door. We turned to the kitchen to check the cake. It was done, so we pulled it out and grabbed the frosting. Dash and I made quite the mess to make it decent looking. "I think it looks pretty good!" I said whipping the frosting off my hooves. "Wait! I got an idea." She said grabbing the colored frosting. Rainbow made a cloud design on the top of the cake. Under the cloud was a rainbow-colored lightning bolt. "There!" She said looking at her masterpiece. "Now it's the most beautiful cake ever." I said and kissing her cheek. "Aww, shut up, Breeze." She said playfully and blushing. Another knock on the door echoed through the house. Rainbow and i crawled off the couch and fixed our manes. I opened the door and saw Rarity and Aerohead at the door. "Hey what's going on! I haven't spoke to you in a while!" I said holding out a hoof. "It has been a while. Rarity and I are heading to a party. Rarity wanted to invite Rainbow Dash. Is she home?" He said, grabbing my hoof and shaking it. "Hey Rarity!" said Rainbow jumping from behind the door. "Darling, Pinkie Pie is throwing a party and you're invited. Would you like to come?" Rarity said to her. "I'd love to, can Breeze come along?" Rainbow asked putting a hoof around me. "Well, I assume he won't be any trouble. Come on darling!" Rarity said beginning to walk to Sugar cube corner. I went back inside the house and decided to bring the cake along with us, to share with the other ponies. Rainbow and I followed them to the highly decorated bakery. We stepped inside and Dash went to go and talk to her friends. Aerohead and I walked to a group of other stallions and talked about who is the fastest and bravest. No one wanted to believe that Dash held those titles, but I let it slide. There was no reason to fight on a holiday. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Hey, the girls would like to talk to you." Rainbow said from behind me. I followed her back to her group of friends and sat on the couch next to Dash. "We feel terribly sorry that we tried to break you apart." said Twilight. "It's okay. No hard feelings." I said looking at the other five. "Well, its a party. How about a drink Breeze?" Rarity said pouring a drink into a glass. "Sure!" I said grabbing the glass out of her hoof. A few moments of talking to each other, a light green pony stumbled over to our group. "Hey Dash!" Said the green pony. "Oh hey, Leafpool." Rainbow said to her. "Is this your boyfriend?" Leafpool asked Dash. "Yeah this is Breeze." Rainbow said blushing. "Soooo, I hear you're going to abort the little foal." She said wrapping a hoof around my shoulder. I spit my drink back into the glass and looked at Rainbow. She had fear and shock on her face. Her friends held the same expression. Suddenly Dash's face contorted. "Dash... Your preg-" one of her friends muttered before getting interrupted. "Yes! And apparently you knew!" she shouted looking at me. "Dash I had-" "Shut up! I don't want to hear your excuses!" She shouting letting her drink hit the floor and shattered. "Dashie, I-" "Don't 'Dashie' me! Just get away from me you bastard!" She yelled sprinting out the door. "What the hell was that!" I yelled at the Leafpool. "I overheard you and your friends talking about aborting a baby." she said in fear. "We were talking about somepony else's foal! Not mine! I never even knew!" I said slamming a hoof on the table. "I got to find her!" I sprinted towards the door and saw Rainbow crying and slowly walking down the street. "Dashie, wait!" I shouted. She turned around and flew up to the sky. I chased after her and she flew into her house. "Dash, please hear me out!" I shouted and knocking on the door. "Get the hell away from here you freak!" She shouted from inside. "Dashie... I never knew you were pregnant! Why didn't you tell me sooner!" I begged from her porch. "Because it was meant to be a surprise! But now all I hear is that you want to abort any filly I have!" She yelled back and sniffing. "Dash... Please I had no idea. I would never have a baby aborted. Please understand this." I said lowering my voice and collapsing on the porch. "How can I believe you?" She said. I heard that she was closer now, she was leaning against the door now. "You would open this door and hear me out. Or I'll stay out here all night and die in the cold for you." I said sitting up. The door slowly opened and I saw her eyes were scorched red from crying. I never wanted to see her like this. I faced my head to the floor and took a deep breath. "When I was 10 years old. My mother was pregnant with my baby brother. My parents didn't want anymore kids because they said it was too much trouble. Right before my eyes, my baby brother was aborted. I stood in the waiting room and cried. He was so close to being in this world, but his life was taken. I didn't talk to my parents for a month because of that. I could never go through that again. So please Dash understand that." I stopped and took a few more breaths before getting up "I know you hate me right now. And I'll leave you be. I just wanted to let you know, before I left." I explained the saddest part of my whole life to her. I kept my head down and watched the tears roll off and hit the snow below me. I turned away from Dash and held my head low. I spread my wings and before I flew back to my house, I felt Dash grab my shoulder and pull me back. I turned and saw her eyes glisten with tears. I whipped her face of the tears and smiled. She wrapped her hooves around me and pulled me in for a kiss. We pulled away and rested our heads on each other's shoulder. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, Breeze." She apologized. "Don't be. It was just a misunderstanding, and everything is fine now." I said brushing her mane away from her eye. "Would you like to come in?" She asked setting her hooves back down. "Thanks, Dash. I would like that." I said following her into her house. We crawled into her bed and snuggled close together. "Good night, Breeze. I love you." She said with a smile. "I love you too, Dashie." I said closing my eyes and kissing her muzzle. We laid together and waited for sleep to take us away. >Author's Note: So how did I do with this chapter? I hope I didn't buck anything up in the story. Please leave feedback, all is appreciated! > Chapter 9: Silver Spectrum > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 9: Silver Spectrum A few months passed by. Rainbow had begun to pass through the phases of pregnancy. She started to get sick every now and then. I would wake up at night and hear her getting sick in the bathroom. Sometimes I would go in and rub her back to comfort her. I noticed the weird cravings she would get. One day she asked me for a muffin, then she wanted an avocado sliced on top. I watched her divour the ruined pastry. She licked her lips and asked for another. This happened more frequently when we would go out for dinner. But I, and all the other ponies who watched in horror, understood why she did this. Something beautiful was on it's way, and it was almost time for it's arrival. The doctor said it would be baby filly and we were happy to hear. I had hopped for a daughter and so did Rainbow. The doctor told us that it wouldn't be long before she would arrive. I woke up to Rainbow shaking my shoulder. I looked over to Rainbow and her face was contorted. "Huh? What is it dash?" I said rolling over and looking at her. "Ah! It's time, Breeze! Get me the hay out of here!" She shouted. I instantly picked her up and carried her downstairs. I threw the door open and spread my wings. The flight to the hospital was a long one, but the doctors instantly took her into care. I really didn't need to see what happened back there. So I sat in the waiting room and waited for the doctors to let me come back to see her. I looked down at the floor and heard hooves coming straight for me. I looked up to see Aerohead trotting towards me with Rarity close by. "Hey, what are you two doing here?" I asked them. "We wanted to try again with a baby of our own, so Rarity is here for a check-up." he said hoping next to me. "But why are you here?" He asked sitting next to me. "Rainbow is going into labor." I said to him. "I have to let the girls know about this!" Exclaimed Rarity, running towards the doors. We sat for a while in silence and Rainbow's friends talked amongst themselves once they arrived. I looked towards the doors that Rainbow was taken through. A smile grew on my face. I was so worried, but excited at the same time. I closed my eyes and drifted away. I jerked up when I heard the doors fly open. I watched the doctor come through the doors and trot towards me. "They're ready for visitors." He said with a smile on his face. We followed him to Rainbow's room and he opened the door for us. I trotted to the bed and sat on the chair next to her. I looked at what she was holding in her hooves. It was a small filly wrapped in a blue blanket. I moved the blanket off its head to reveal the small white face. I looked down and saw my daughter right before my eyes. Her mane was colored just like Rainbow's. Each part of her hair was colored differently and flowed perfectly like a rainbow. Her coat was a shiny silver. She let out a small yawn and slowly began to open her eyes. I looked at the small purple pools of beauty as she looked right at me. A small giggle sounded from her that echoed, in the quietness that lie, in the room. "Awww!" adored all of the ponies in the room. "What will we name her?" I asked Rainbow. She turned her head back down to our daughter. "Silver Spectrum?" she said. "That's a perfect name, Dashie." I said kissing her on the head. I picked Silver up out of Rainbow's hooves and held her. She smiled and starred at me. I brought my head down to her and nuzzled her gently. Silver let out a small giggle. I smiled and turned my head back to Dash. She was now resting, clearly being tired out from giving birth. We let Rainbow rest for awhile and a nurse came in the room with a folder of documents. We filled out the papers and began to make our way outside. I held Silver in my hooves and began to fly with Dash back to my home. I had a desk removed from my room, and in it's place is a small bed fit for the filly. I gently rested Silver in her bed and she slowly closed her eyes, falling into a deep slumber. I turned back to Dash and she was already in bed. I crawled in next to her and she snuggled up close to me. "We did good, Dash." I whispered. "Hay yeah, we did. I love you." She whispered back. "I love you too, Dashie." I said, kissing her on the head. "Goodnight." >Author's Note: Almost there everypony! I still got 2 or 3 more chapters for you all. Please tell me what you think and what I should work on. >Editor's Note We need to thank Heartbeat for this, amazing story of his! > Chapter 10: Picnic > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 10: Picnic I woke up to small whimpers and sobs. I looked behind me and saw that Rainbow was still asleep. I looked over and saw that Silver was crying in her bed. I got up and crept over to her. The small filly was tossing and turning in her bed. I lifted her up and the crying slowed to small whines. I hummed to her softly and rocked her gently in my hooves. Her breathing steadied and turned to small snores. I placed her back under the sheets and kissed her on the head. I turned back and saw Rainbow sitting up and smiling at me. "That was pretty smooth, Breeze." she whispered. "Thank you, Dashie." I whispered back. I crawled under the sheets and snuggled up to her once again. The crickets outside calmed me and brought me into a smooth slumber. I opened my eyes and rubbed my head. I looked around me. I saw that Rainbow had gotten up before me. This was a rare sight to see. Rainbow loved to sleep in, but today, she was up before me. I got out of the bed and slowly moved to her. She was holding Silver in her hooves and smiling down at her. I moved next to her and wrapped a hoof around her shoulder and pulled her into a kiss. We both looked down at the sleeping filly, who was snoring softly. "Dash, do you think we'll be good parents?' I asked her. "Hay yeah! We'll be the best! And if not, we go through it together." she said snuggling up my neck "Well..." I said walking to my dresser. I reached in and pulled out a small black box and held it behind my back to hide it from her sight. I moved back to her and sat back down in front of her. She turned to face towards me and smiled. "How do you think we'll be as a married couple?' I said holding the box in front of her and opening the top. "What do you say Dash? Will you marry me?" I said holding out the box to her. Her jaw dropped as she saw the diamond bracelet inside. She set Silver down on the ground in between us. Dash lifted the bracelet from the box and the smile grew on her face. She slipped the bracelet on her hoof and looked back up to me. "Of course, I'll marry you, Breeze!' She shrieked and pulled me into a hug. Silver looked up at us and watched our embrace. She began to giggle and her wings started to buzz. We looked down at the little filly and saw her look out the window. She looked back to us like she was begging to go outside. I opened the window and picked her up. I held her in my hooves and carried her down below to the front yard. I sat under the tree in the shade. Rainbow flew out the window and sat next to us. We played with Silver under the tree. I flew up to the tree and grabbed an apple off a branch. I looked at the filly and rolled it to her. She picked up the apple and began to suck on it. I watched and laughed at the adorable scene. Rainbow went inside and brought out a small white bottle. She picked up Silver and held the bottle to her mouth. Silver sucked the liquid out of the bottle quite quickly. I looked shocked at Rainbow as she knew exactly what she needed, "How did you know she needed that?" I asked Rainbow. "I baby sat before, Duh! Besides I know what I'm doing." she said sounding self-confident. Silver pulled her lips from the bottle and let out small whimpers. "Ya sure about that?" I asked her with a small laugh. Rainbow laid Silver over her shoulder and began to pat her back. The little filly let out a small burp and began to giggle. And her crying stopped. Rainbow looked back towards me with her confident attitude showing on her face again. "You know it!' she laughed. We sat in the shade under the tree with our filly and played with her. I watched her crawl over to me and grab my leg. She looked up at me and began to giggle. I laid on my back and she hopped on my stomach. She crawled into a ball and slept on my chest. I watched as she raised and lowered on my chest as I breathed. My breathing rocked her to sleep and Dash laid on her side next to me. We both looked at each other starred into the sky. The clouds were glowing a orange and pink. They contorted and morphed into unknown shapes and different sizes. I couldn't believe it. I had a beautiful mare-friend who will be my wife and a daughter. They meant the world to me, and nothing else mattered at the time. A tear rolled down my cheek and I began to smile. "Um... Why are you crying?' Rainbow asked me placing a hoof on my shoulder. "I'm so happy for us Dashie." I said, holding her hoof. We're a family now, can you believe it?" I said looking back up to the sky. "Heh... No I can't. I never thought this day would arrive. Let alone so quickly." She said rubbing Silver's back. "Well, the day is here, Dashie. We've got a beautiful daughter and we're engaged." I said putting my hooves behind my head in the grass. We watched as the clouds passed above us. The sun was setting behind a hill in the distance. We sat in my back yard and watched it slowly fall behind the hill. Silver had fallen asleep again but in between us. She fell asleep on the grass and snored softly. I watched as she slowly moved in her sleep. Once the sun fully made it's way behind the hill, we moved inside and ate dinner. Dash and I made sandwiches. Silver had to eat this weird baby food made from squashed carrots. Rainbow fed Silver than took her upstairs to bed. I followed her to our room and wrapped a hoof on her shoulder. She placed Silver in her bed and I kissed her goodnight. Rainbow and I moved back downstairs to enjoy the rest of the night togeather. A few days passed and I was up early in the morning. I checked on SIlver to see if she was alright. She was still sleeping, just like her mother. I looked back to Dash and saw her sleeping too. I trotted downstairs and grabbed a cup of coffee. I sat in a chair next to a window and watched as the sun began to rise. The summer weather was perfect for what I had planned today for us. I would take Dash and Silver out to a picnic in the park today. I walked into the kitchen and prepared the basket for our lunch. Rainbow came downstairs with Silver in her hooves. She grabbed the bottle from the fridge and began to feed Silver. "What are you doing?" she asked me holding the bottle in Silver's mouth. "I am packing a picnic for us. What do you think?" I asked returning to the pantry to gather some more food. "I think a picnic would be awesome." she said. "When your done feeding Silver, would you like some breakfast?" I asked holding up some oatmeal. "Hay yeah! I'm starving." she said looking at me with hunger in her eyes. I made the oatmeal and poured it into a bowl. I set the bowl on the table and Dash popped the bottle out of the filly's mouth. Rainbow began to eat the oatmeal and I sat next to her. I took a sip of my coffee and set the cup on the table. I picked up Silver from Rainbow's hooves so she can eat easier. I set Silver on the table in front of me and began to tickle her. She let out a burst of laughter and her wings buzzed. I felt her grab onto my hoof and my heart stopped. She held my hoof with both of hers and looked up to me. A small smile grew across her face and I starred into her purple eyes. My heart felt as if it was turned into a puddle. "So adorable..." I said nuzzling Silver. She began to laugh as I kissed her on the head. "Isn't she?' Rainbow said putting another spoonful of oatmeal in her mouth. A few hours passed and we left out to the front of the house. We played with Silver for a while outside. Rainbow had tried to teach her to fly, but she is still a little too weak to fly on her own. The sun was at it's highest point and I went inside to grab the picnic basket. We flew to the park with Silver in Dash's hooves. We chose a table that was under the shade of a large tree. I laid out the cloth and set the food on the table. Dash sat down on one end and I sat across from her. I grabbed a sandwich and took a bite. Rainbow set Silver on the table and handed her one of the many toys that Dash bought for her. She held the rattle in her hoof and shook it once. Her eyes shot open and stared at the noise maker. She shook it again and began to laugh. We both watched as Silver became easily amused. I took another bite to finish the sandwich. I pulled out from the basket a jar of apple juice and pored it into two glasses. I handed a glass to Dash and she took a sip of the liquid. I sipped it and tasted the apples in the drink. Dash and I finished the small sandwiches and Rainbow fed Silver her baby food. Rainbow looked at the spoonful of the mush. Silver held her mouth open and waited for the spoon to enter. But, Rainbow kept looking at the orange mush with a raised eyebrow. "Don't even think about it, Dashie. That stuff is disgusting." I said laughing. "What? I wasn't going to eat it or anything." she said, clearly lying. She popped the spoon in Silvers mouth and she swallowed down the food. I looked into the distance to see a park with little fillies and foals playing with their friends. I wondered how long before Silver would be like the other kids here. I saw out of the corner of my eye that Dash moved something to her mouth in a fast motion. I looked over to her and saw her licking her lips. Her face contorted and she began to spit on the grass. I began to laugh as she stuck out her tongue and brushed it with her hooves. "I told you Dashie!" I said laughing. "This stuff used to be my favorite when I was young!" she said, now disgusted by the mush. I picked up the paper plates and napkins and started to trot to a garbage can. Suddenly I heard small whimpers from behind me. I turned to see that Silver was looking right at me. I stepped a little further and her whimpers turned to small cries. Then it hit me, Silver thought I was leaving her and her mother. "Don't worry, I'll be back!" I said patting her head. I quickly threw away the garbage and returned to the table. I sat back down and Silver crawled over to me. She wrapped herself around one of my hooves and held her eyes closed. I lifted her up and held her close to my chest. I looked up to Rainbow who was smiling and finishing her glass of juice. I packed up the picnic basket and we were off back to the house. The way that Silver acted when I was trotting away, broke my heart. I would never leave Dashie or Silver, because I love them so much. > Chapter 11: Wedding > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 11: Wedding Today is the big day. After 6 months of planning and preparing, I am getting married to the best mare in the world. My head was fogged with excitement but at the same time, I was nervous. My heart was beating a mile a minute and I had the the biggest smile in the room, once the doors opened. I stood at the end of the isle and waited for Rainbow to come through the doors. I saw my parents sitting next to Rainbow's. My mom was holding Silver and she was talking to Rainbow's mother, possibly about us. Than I look to my dad. He was starring right at me and smiled. I smiled back and looked over to my best-colt, Aerohead. He nodded his head once and smiled. I nodded back and turned back to the open doors. Fluttershy had brought her birds to sing for the wedding. She raised a hoof and the birds began to sing in harmony. I watched the rest of her friends stare in excitement. I saw Rainbow move to the open doors and slowly trot down the isle. Three little fillies hopped in front of Rainbow and spread rose peddle down the isle. Rainbow smiled and stood next to me in front of a podium. A stallion approached the podium and began the ceremony. A few moments later Spike approached us with matching wedding bands. I picked up the band and slid on her hoof and she did the same to me. We turned back to the stallion behind the podium, and he began to speak again. "Do you, Swift Breeze, take this mare to be your wife?" he asked. "I do." I said looking to Rainbow. "And do you, Rainbow Dash, take this stallion to be your husband?"he continued. "I do." she said looking at me with tears of joy in her eyes. "You may now kiss the bride." He said to me. I leaned in and closed my eyes. Before I knew it our lips met, binding us together forever. I heard the church echo the applause from our families and friends. We pulled away and began to make our way down the isle together. A coach waited outside to take us home. We would prepare for our dinner party and celebrate this brilliant day. I helped Rainbow into the cart and my mother handed me Silver. My mother congratulated me and gave me a hug that could take out a bear. I climbed into the cart and held Silver close to my chest. Rainbow and I talked about how nervous we were on the ride back to my house. Once we arrived, we got out of the cart and thanked the drivers. They told us that they were payed to take us to dinner too. So Dash and I made our way inside to change out of our wedding attire. Rainbow put on a rainbow colored dress that Rarity made, and I changed into a white collared shirt and black suit jacket. We got back in the cart and Silver was in Rainbow's hooves. We looked out the windows and saw the ponies outside who seemed happy for us. We arrived at a fancy restaurant and made our way to the back. The garden in the back was reserved for us to have our dinner. The waiters brought out fresh food and laid them out on a table, like a buffet. Dash and I sat down at a table with our parents. My parents were talking to Rainbow's and I was talking to Dashie. Our mothers were holding Silver and talking about how cute she is. Our fathers were deep in a conversation about sports. Dash grabbed my hoof and smiled at me. "So I was thinking. I want to sell my old house and permanently move in with you, Breeze." she said to me. "That sounds like a perfect idea." I said nuzzling up to her. Rainbow and I drank champaign and enjoyed the dinner with our friends and family. Suddenly the lights went dim and Aerohead turned on a mic. He held it in his hooves and began to speak. "Can we have the beautiful couple to the dancefloor, please?" Aerohead said pointing a spotlight on Rainbow and I. "Aw, Come on Aero don't do this!" I said laughing. "C'mon It will be fun!" Rainbow said, handing Silver to her mother and grabbing my hoof. We made our way to the empty part of the garden that was surrounded by speakers. The ponies stood and waited for us to begin our dance together. The music began and Rainbow and I locked our necks around each others. We swayed and stepped to the smooth beat. I was never a good dancer so the entire time I was nervous. I hoped that I wouldn't move the wrong way or step on Rainbow. The song continued and some couples began to dance together. I looked over to see Aerohead dancing with Rarity. I saw Rarity lift the glasses off of his head and she kissed him. Aerohead began to blush and continued to dance with her. I turned my attention back to Rainbow and I. We swayed with the song in perfect harmony. The song came to a slow finish and we kissed on the final long note. The crowd cheered and we moved back to our table. My dad patted me on the shoulder. "You're going to make a great father." He said to me. "I learned from the best, Dad." I said to him. "Thank you, son." He laughed. The rest of the night was filled with family and friends congratulating us. We talked with our friends and had a great time. Silver fell asleep in my arms when I was holding her. I kissed her on the head and Rainbow went to go and talk to her friends before the party ended. I sat and thought about my life and how perfect it was now. We were a family, and I only wondered what the future held for us. The party ended and Rainbow and I returned to the cart. The drivers hooked themselves on again and we were off. Back at the house, Rainbow took off her dress and crawled under the covers to the bed. I laid Silver down in her crib and kissed her goodnight. I went into the closet and hung up Rainbow dress and my suit jacket. I unbuttoned my shirt and threw it in the hamper. I crept to my side of the bed and cuddled up to Dashie. I closed my eyes and fell into a deep sleep. >Author's note: Alright the wedding came and went, everypony. I hope I did alright. I may have made myself sound like a dumbass because I didn't describe the ceremony alot. But, I hope I did a decent job. > Chapter 12: Family > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 12: Family I stood at the doorway to Silvers room and looked at her. The storm surrounded all of Ponyville and was supposed to last all day. Lightning struck and Silver shot up in her bed. I moved over to her and picked her up out of her bed. I carried her out to Dash, who was eating lunch. I sat at the table and held Silver in my lap. She looked up at me and let out small wimpers. I held her close to my chest. I wanted to protect her from anything. But weather was just something we had to deal with. Rainbow and I would have cleared the skies ourself. But it was a scheduled storm, and nopony was allowed to clear it. I looked outside and saw the rain beating against the window. I closed the shutters and moved to the couch. Rainbow came and sat next to me. For hours Rainbow and I talked about Silver's birthday. It would be her first and it was only a few months away. I couldn't believe how fast time could pass. Rainbow fed Silver and took her to bed. Silver never liked the rain and would want to be with us the whole time. But a baby needs it's sleep and we tried to get her to fall asleep on her own. When Dash sat down, a few hours passed and we began to hear whimpers again. "I'll get her." I said getting off the couch. I trotted up the stairs to our room. I slowly opened our door and saw Silver lying in her crib sobbing. I picked up Silver and brought her downstairs. I sat with Rainbow on the couch and watched the rain fall outside. A white flash filled the dark room and vanished as fast as it came. Silver tensed her muscles and held onto my chest. I rubbed her back. "The storm is keeping her awake." I said to Rainbow. "Yeah, I'm surprised she isn't crying her eyes out." She said laying her head on my shoulder. "She got your bravery, Dash." I said giving her a small kiss. I held Silver in my arms and stayed up late with her. The storm was relentless. Strike after strike, lightning brightened the room and scared Silver. The thunder would roar through Ponyville and Silver would hold her ears down. I closed my eyes and i felt pushing against my chest. I looked down to see the terror in Silver's eyes. "All right. I'll stay up." I whispered. I looked over to see Dash was fast asleep on the couch next to me. I sat with Silver and held her close to me. I felt her shiver in my hooves. I pulled some blankets out of the closet and threw one over Dashie. I sat on the couch and threw the blanket over my lap. Silver rustled under the blanket and popped her head out from underneath. She laid her head on my chest and stared up to me with her beautiful purple eyes. I felt her breathing calm and her shivering stopped. She close her eyes and a smile was stuck on her face. I laid my head back on the couch and closed my eyes. The rain echoed in my head as I fell into a peaceful sleep. I opened my eyes and looked around the room. I saw Rainbow sitting at the table with her head down. I roll Silver in the blanket and lay her down on the couch. I put a hoof on Rainbow's shoulder and she tenses up. "Rainbow, whats the matter?" I asked her. She slid a letter to me and I picked it up to read it. Dear Rainbow Dash, We are proud to announce that you are welcome to join the Wonderbolts. For your outstanding performance and the rescuing of the team, we want you to join our crew. We would like to hear from you as soon as possible. Expect your outfit to arrive after our first meeting in Canterlot. Sincerely, The Wonderbolts Captain I was amazed at the sight of the letter. But why was Rainbow reacting in such a way. "Rainbow, this is great news! Why are you upset?" I asked her sitting down at the table. "Because, If I join the Wonderbolts, I won't be able to have anytime for our family." she sobbed. "Rainbow, I understand what you mean. But you should do what you think is right. I'm sure you can visit us sometimes. Don't let just one thing keep you from your dreams." I explained to her. "Breeze, I love you and Silver so much. I can't join them. Because this was my dream." She said pointing to Silver. "I found out that my real dream, was to become a mother." "And you did Dashie. You became the best mom." I said pulling her into a hug. "Thanks. I'm going to write them back today. I'll tell them about my family. Maybe they'll understand why I wont join." She said folding the letter back up. I went back to the couch and picked up Silver. Her eyes opened and she let out a small yawn. I brought her up and kissed her head. She giggled and her wings began to buzz. I took the blanket off of her and set her on the table. I went to the fridge and pilled out her bottle. Silver smiled as I sat back down at the table. I set the bottle on the table and Silver grabbed it with her small hooves and rolled on her back. Her wrapped her lips around the bottle and sucked the liquids from inside. I watched as she almost finished the bottle. I grabbed the bottom and popped it out of her mouth and put it back into the fridge. I sat back down at the table and Silver put one of her small hoof against mine and smiled at me. "High-hoof." I said to her, laughing. She stood on her hooves and began to trot across the table to Rainbow. Rainbow and I looked at each other as the little filly made her first steps. We picked up Silver and congratulated her. She flailed her hooves around and giggles as I tickled her. "How about we celebrate with some ice-cream." I said grabbing a pouch of bits. Rainbow and I trotted out the door to a nearby ice-cream parlor. Silver sat on Rainbows back and smiled the whole way there. We stepped inside and looked at all the many flavors. "I'll have 2 scoops of vanilla." I said to the owner. "And I'll have a scoop of chocolate mint." Rainbow said to him. He put our ice-cream into cups and handed them to us. I handed the bits to him and we turned to a booth to sit down. I grabbed a small spoon from the jar and put some ice-cream in Silver's mouth. She swallowed the ice-cream and her face lit up with enjoyment. Silver grabbed the spoon from my hoof and stuck it into the ice-cream and scooped out some. She held the spoon with two hooves and began to lick it off with her small tongue. I grabbed a spoon of my own and began to eat too. "How's you ice-cream, Dashie?" I asked looking up at her and putting the spoon in my mouth. "It could be 20% cooler. I wonder if they have avocados back there?" she said looking back to the owner. My jaw dropped as she said that. I remembered the cravings she got for avocado when she was having Silver. The spoon fell out of my mouth and landed on the table. There was no way she was pregnant again! "Um... Dashie, are you-" I muttered. "I'm just kidding!" She said taking another spoonful to her mouth. I sighed in some relief and grabbed a new spoon from the jar. I laughed and grabbed another spoonful. I looked down at Silver as she stuck the spoon in the ice-cream again. This time she accidentally knocked over the cup an some leaked out. I set the cup back up right and looked at Silver. She knew she did something bad. She held the spoon in front of her face and she trembled. Silver looked around the spoon and up to me. Her rainbow mane covered one eye and she trembled with a sad look on her face. "I can never be mad at something so adorable!" I said nuzzling her. She let out a small giggle and I held the cup as she stuck it in again. We all finished our ice-cream and left. I sat outside and watched as Rainbow and Silver played. Rainbow had finally gotten Silver to hover off the ground. Silver buzzed her wings and glided over to Dashie. When they met up Rainbow pulled Silver in an embrace. I watched them for hours and the sun had been setting. I had begun to plan something for Silver's birthday. Not just for her but Rainbow should also enjoy what I had in mind. >Author's note: I think I'm going a little heavy with the 'Daw' factor. But I think that's what makes this story a little worth reading. But otherwise, tell me what you think because it's not over yet! > Chapter 13: First Birthday > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 13: First Birthday I opened the door to the postoffice and stepped inside. I saw a gray mare with a golden mane behind the desk, and she was clearly enjoying a muffin. "Excuse me miss, but I wanted to see if anything arrived for me?" I asked her. "Okay, what's your name?" She said with only one eye looking directly at me. "Swift Breeze." I told her. She turned to a mail room and I could hear the shuffling of papers and boxes. A few moments later she arrived with a brown box in her mouth. She set it on the counter and I picked it up. Placing it in my bag, I thanked her and left the office. I trotted down the road towards my house to get to my daughter. I hopped that the gift wasn't too much for her first birthday. But I wanted to give the world for her. I saw Aerohead and Rarity trotting down the road togeather. On Aerohead's back was a small gray unicorn with blue hair. I began to trot towards them to congratulate the arrival. "Hey, I see you got a kid of your own, Aero!" I said standing in font of him. "Yeah, he is probably the best thing that has happened to me. Other than you Rarity, of course!" He said kissing her cheek. "Well, I need to get back to my house. It's Silver's birthday today and I just got one of her presents in the mail." I said to them. "Alright, I'll see you later!" Aerohead said, following Rarity. I trotted to my house and opened the door. I saw Rainbow holding Silver in her hooves and Silver was holding her gift from Dash. The small box was wrapped in colorful paper and a bow was tied around it. I sat next to them on the couch and held the box in a hoof. "Go ahead and open it!" I said ruffling Silver's mane. Dash helped Silver unwrap the box and open it. Silver reached inside. Her head and torso fell into the box and her legs stuck up in the air, waving. We both looked at the waving pairs of legs and laughed. Dash lifted her out of the box, and Silver held a teddy bear, about half the size of her. She looked at it and smiled. She wrapped her hooves around the bear and hugged it tight. I ripped the tape off my box and set it in front of Silver. She scooted on the ground to get closer to the box. She flipped the box on it's side and 3 strips of paper slid onto the floor. Silver picked up one and so did Dash. Dash brought the paper closer to her and read the text. Her eyes shot open and stared at me. "A cruise?!" Dash exclaimed looking back at the ticket. I looked at her and nodded my head. "It leaves in about a week." I said wrapping a hoof around her shoulder. Dash leaned in and landed a kiss on my lips. It had been a while since we kissed so deeply. We broke the kiss and looked to Silver who was putting her head in the box like a shelter. I picked up the box and set her back down on the ground. She giggled and move back the the bear. She laid down and set her head on the chest of the bear and fell asleep. We woke Silver a while later to take her to her party at Sugar Cube Corner. She happily held her bear as she sat on my back. We arrived and all of our friends were inside and cheering for Silver. We set Silver at a table and sat next to her. Pinkie Pie brought out a cake with a single candle on it. All the ponies in the room sang happy birthday to her and Silver was about to blow the candle out. She leaned in and blew out the candle, but at the same time, she lost her balance and landed face first into the cake. Everypony laughed and I lifted her out of the cake. Rainbow grabbed some napkins and cleaned her face off. Silver giggled and stuck a hoof to the cake and pulled out a small piece. She popped the chunk into her mouth and began to chew it. Her eyes spread wide as she tasted the sweet cake. She laughed and her wings buzzed as she reached for more. We pulled her away and handed her a slice. Instead of sticking her hoof in the whole cake she can do it to her own piece. Everypony grabbed a slice but avoided where Silver left her face imprint. A few hours passed and the party came to an end. All the ponies went home and Silver was tired out. She fell asleep on my back, gripping her bear. I opened the door and Dash moved up the stairs and I followed close by. I set Silver into her bed and placed the covers over her. She began her mall snoring and gripped her bear to her chest. I kissed her on the head. "Happy birthday..." I whispered and smiled down at her. I moved to the bed and cuddled up to Rainbow. We laid together as the moon shined through the window, lighting the room with a dark blue. I eagerly awaited the arrival of out trip. >Author's notes: Okay, this was a bit short chapter, but believe me, the next chapter will be about 3x as long as this one. I still don't want to end this story yet and I don't know why. But anyway, I got the idea of the cruise from my birthday present, which was a cruise. Thanks for reading, and remember to leave comments! I appreciate all the daw feedback I get. > Chapter 14: Cruise > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 14: Cruise I grabbed the saddlebags and threw them onto my back. I trotted down the stairs and went outside to Rainbow, who was waiting patiently with Silver. "Alright! Let's get going!" I said. We trotted to the train station and payed our tickets to get on the train. The train's engine began to rumble and we were on our way. A few hours later we areived at a town that had large dock. We found out terminal for the cruise. A pony took our tickets and we entered the large ship. Rainbow and I stairred at the classy interior of the large ship. The boat was filled with many ponies, some dressed very expensive. We made our way to the elevators and went up to our rooms. The door unlocked and we entered the room. Inside were two rooms. One for me and Dash, and one for Silver. We enjoyed the rest of the day by going up to the ship's pool. There was a small restaurant down below the pool so we decided to eat after we swam together. I sat down and layed on my back in a chair. Rainbow got in with Silver with the other ponies. I smiled as I watched as Silver floated in the water. The floaties on her front hooves kept her head above the water. She giggled and splashed around with Rainbow. I sat in the sun and sipped a cold drink. I didn't want to get in at the moment, I just wanted to enjoy the view of the ocean. Moments later, Dash and Silver got out and she laid next to me. And Silver held her bear and sat at the edge of the pool with her rear hooves in the water. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. I heard a splash and I looked up to see what happened. I looked and saw two purple floaties and a bear floating in the water. "Oh crap!" I yelled as I sprung out of my seat. I dove into the water and frantically looked around. Silver was lying at the bottom of the pool and was thrashing her hooves around. I swam down as fast as I could to her. Scooping her up, I kicked down on the bottom of the pool and sprung to the surface. Silver began to choke and cry as she surfaced. I gasped for air and set her on the ledge, where Rainbow instantly picked her up and make sure she was breathing alright. I turned around and scooped the bear and floaties out of the water and returned to her. My heat was ripping apart when I saw her at the bottom. She seemed to be so helpless, even though she was. I could never have lived with myself If she had not come out alright. I thought she was so far down, but she was only a few feet away from me. I was so happy that Silver was alright, yet I was so mad that Rainbow and I were the only ponies who noticed. I dried her bear off and handed it to her. Her playful, childish attitude returned as she hugged the bear. She let out a faint giggle and buzzed her wings. I smiled and patted her head. We returned to the room to cleanup for dinner. I watched Silver as she rolled on the floor and giggled. She stopped and sat in front of me and smiled. She moved over to her bear and picked it up. Silver crawled over to me and buzzed her wings. She landed on the couch next to me and smiled. I looked into her purple eyes, they were still a little red from the water, and I felt a frown appear on my face as I thought back to the pool. My heart stopped as I saw Silver smiling and holding up her bear to me. "No, that's your's, sweetie." I said looking down at her. She smiled and set the bear down in my lap. A tear fell off my cheek and landed in my lap. I picked up the bear and looked at it, then smiled back at her. I set the bear down and picked Silver up and pulled her into a hug. I began to sob as I rested my head around her small body. "Daddy, almost lost you... I felt so sad and scared." I cried quietly. "Daddy..." My heart skipped a beat as the words left Silver's mouth. I felt her hooves wrap around my neck and hug me back. I smiled and hugged her tighter. Silver giggled and her wings began to flutter against my hooves. I wiped the tears off my cheeks and saw Rainbow trot through the door. "She called me daddy..." I said sniffing back the tears. Rainbow trotted to Silver and congratulated her. I patted her head and she looked up at me with her purple eyes. We left and sat outside at the restaurant. The waiters gave us our menus, but we decided to take the buffet. We grabbed a plate and slowly began to trot down the isles of amazing looking food. I grabbed a sunflower burger and some red potatoes. I sat down at the table and Dash returned with silver on her back. Silver was eating a small potato and even watching her eat was the cutest thing I've ever seen. I finished my meal and Rainbow was holding Silver in her hooves and feeding her from the bottle. I looked out to the sunset that rested on the ocean. It seemed so... Endless. Sip from the wine and set the glass back down on the table. I turned back to the beautiful sunset and smiled. >Author's note: I'm currently writing two stories. This one, and Young Bond Builds. So uploads may be a little slow. But This one is finally winding down to an end. Please leave comments. > Chapter 15: Life > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 15: Life Dash and Silver flew right out of the sky and landed right at the gate to the house. I watched Silver trot to the house from the balcony. I looked and saw the beautiful mare that is my daughter. She seemed so young not that long ago. Now she is in her twenties and is preparing to move out. She looked up at me and waved. A smile grew over my face as I waved at her. "How was she Dashie?" I called down to her. "She's pretty fast." Dash said giving a little shove to Silver. "Mom, please, you know I beat you 3 times in a row. I really fast!" Silver said patting her chest. "You're rubbing off on her, Dash." I said noticing the self confidence in Silver. "Hay yea!" Dash said ruffling Silver's mane. Silver flew up to me and landed on the balcony. Dash followed her and sat on the couch next to me. I looked into the purple eyes of Silver and saw the once young filly, is now a completely different mare. Her mane was long and almost touched the floor. Her white feathers on her wings would reflect rainbows as she flew. I looked up into her eyes and remebered the young filly that held my neck and called me daddy. "Um... Dad what's up with you being all sappy?" Silver said pointing at the tear streaming down my cheek. "You've really grown, Silver." I said pulling her into a hug. "Thanks, dad." She said patting my back with her hoof. "Well. Lets eat some lunch before you catch your train to Canterlot." I said trotting inside. Lunch didn't last nearly as long as I had hoped. I trotted up to the ticket booth and bought Silver's ticket to Canterlot. I handed her the ticket and Silver took it. I watched Rainbow give Silver a hug and held her close. She approached me and hugged me. I closed my eyes and squeezed her tight. I didn't want her to leave. "Why does your job require you to live in Canterlot?" I said holding back my tears. "I told you. If a spot opens at the station here, I'd be more than happy to live here. They just transferred me to the station there." Silver explained. "By guys, I love you." She said slowly making her way onto the train. I saw her bolt back through the doors and stand in front of me. "I almost forgot to give you this!" She said, reaching in her bags. My heart stopped as she held out what she wanted to give me. Suddenly Silver was her young self again. She had her small purple eyes and held up the animal. I looked in her hooves to see the little brown bear she had gotten on her first birthday. Tears began to stream down my cheeks and I picked up the bear. I wrapped my hooves around her. "I can't even begin to tell you how much I'm going to miss you." I said clenching my eyes shut. "I'm going to visit as much as I can. And I promise I'll right." She said hugging me back. "ALL ABOARD!" the conductor yelled. "I got to go dad." She said, tears forming in he eyes. "I know..." I said sniffling. She got on the train and it was off down the railroad. I looked down at the bear and smiled. A tear hit the bear as I remembered all the times she held this bear out to me. She began to tell me that when she held this bear, all of her bad feelings would go away. I pressed the bear against my chest and looked back to Rainbow. She had a smile on her face and was crying. "C'mon... Lets get home." I said trotting out of the station. I stood on the balcony and held the bear in my lap. Rainbow was leaning her head on my shoulder and we watched the sunset together. I closed my eyes and began to remember all the times Silver had with us. Her first colt-friend, her first date, first heartbreak, and her first time leaving home. I sniffed back the tears and gazed at the setting sun. "I miss her so much already..." I said. "I know, I do too. But it wont be long before we go through the same thing with Blaze." "I know, but at least he is only 18, and we still have some time to spend with him." I said thinking of our son. "Speaking of Blaze..." Dash said pointing up to the sky. I saw him hauling a cart of apples in the air. I watched as he landed in front of the house. He unhooked his cart and dashed straight up to the balcony. His face was covered in sweat. "Did I miss it, Is sis still here?" He said, gasping for air. "Calm down, son. You just missed her. She left not to long ago to Canterlot." I explained to him. "Aww. I'm sorry, guys." He said sitting on the ledge brushing back his red mane. "It's alright. Now go and finish your delivery. I want to talk to you." I said putting a hoof on his shoulder. "Alright dad." Blaze said to me taking off to his cart. I watched as he flew towards Sweet Apple Acres. I turned my gaze back to the sun an waited for his return. The End... >Authors note: Yay! It's over! Now I can write a sequel with Blaze Wing, their son! Hope you enjoyed!
