It was a... rainy... day in Ponyville, Rainbow Dash was... moping, why? 'Cause the Wonderbolts betrayed her. Not exactly betrayed but close. He had directed it to her, they all did. They did nothing but a small conversation. They obviously didn't trust her, especially him.

Who is this him you ask? Well... I'll let you find out...

"Stupid... messed up... Wonderbolts. Why... why me? It could have been any-pony else! Your 'most promising reserve'? My flank, Spitfire... your CO-CAPTAIN doesn't seem to agree..." Dash grumbled. She was lying in her room in the West Wing of Canterlot Castle, thinking back to the previous day. Soarin. It was all his fault... after... after all those times she had saved him... that was how he repaid her? She would NEVER allow it.

"If you want to treat me that way... you can be the LAST favourite in my eyes..." Dash rolled onto her back and looked into the mirror in front of her and sighed. "Dash... your not meant to be moping over a colt... ponies in Flight School were... worse... but... UGH! I CAN-"

"OH, RAINBOW DASHHHHH!" shouted Rarity, bursting into the room, making the room shake slightly.

Dash rolled her eyes and rolled back onto her front, facing her whilst thinking, 'And you thought I slam the doors?

"Whaaatttuppp Rares?"

"Darling! First of all! YOUR MANE IS A DISGRACE! Let me fix it all up!" scoffed Rarity, looking at her mane in disgust and grabbing a brush. " Oh and second of all, Spitfire has invited you to dinner at 6:00 PM straight!"

"Is Soarin going to be there?" asked Dash quickly, ignoring the fact that she was trying to fix up her mane in a very Rarity-like way.

"Well... of course... any reason?" asked Rarity, raising an eyebrow at her.

"No reason... you know... can you let Spitfire know that I'm not going to show up? I feel a little sick..."

Rarity looked at her in disbelief, dropping the brush at an instant. "You're not going to show up? Just for a little sickness? This isn't the Rainbow Dash I know! If I know you, you would be squealing at an instant! I-I mean, the Wonderbolts are your dream! A-and... Soarin's there! You never stop talking about him! He's your idol!"

"Well... things change... I guess I don't idolise anypony anymore..." Dash sighed, rolling her eyes.

Rarity stood there gobsmacked, looking at Dash suspiciously. She obviously had something on her mind... OH, Rarity WAS going to find out what that was! No matter what.

"I... eck... I guess I'll tell Spitfire then... are you sure you don't want to go, darling?"

"Positive..."

"Alright then... I'll check up on you later, alright?"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever..."

Rarity stared at Dash for a few seconds. She was trying to see through her but she couldn't...

After giving up, Rarity walked out of the room, closing the door gently with her magic and walking back to the meeting area reserved for the Wonderbolts.

Spitfire spotted her walking with concern in her eyes and was just about to ask what was wrong when Rarity trotted right past her, going up to Soarin, who was talking to Fleetfoot.

"Oh, Soarin!" called Rarity, motioning him to come with her.

"Uhh... okay...?" Soarin quickly glanced at Fleetfoot to see if it was anything to do with her but she just shook her head and rolled her eyes, walking away.

"Soarin... is anything wrong about you and Rainbow Dash?"

"Wha- uh? I don't think so... I mean... I hope not..."

'Hmm, this seems like a whole new case on its own... but never fear! Shadow Spades is here once again!'

Soarin stared at Rarity who had a smirk on her face and was looking upwards, not moving or speaking. He averted his eyes and quickly scurried away from the over-confident mare. Dash's friends were sure... interesting...

Rarity looked about, noticing that Soarin was no longer by her side. She sighed, rolling her eyes and rushing away to have a quick costume change.

"Your... heading off... today...?"

Dash looked at Soarin standing by the door way and averted her eyes downwards, she really didn't want to speak to him but she knew it would be rude.

"Yeah..." she whispered softly, bowing her head.

Soarin stared at her for a few moments before nodding, "Uh... okay... see you around, then?"

Dash paused, thinking over what to say. Should she carry on being nice or just give in?

'Element of Loyalty...'

"UH! Yeah! Yeah! Sure! Haha..."

She trailed off, wincing heavily, Soarin just raised an questioning eyebrow at her.

"Are you alright?"

"I... yeah, sure, I'm fine, just a little stressed cause... reasons..."

Soarin looked on at her for a few more seconds before nodding. He trotted out of the room and softly closed the door. She really did seem different... was there really something wrong like Rarity had asked?

He really hoped not. To him, Dash was perfect in every way. There was not one flaw he could think of... even if there was, he would consider it a compliment. He knew Dash didn't yet like him in the way he liked her, but he was determined to fix that. So. Determined.

...

Not that much that he had to force her...

"HEY SOARIN!"

"GAHHH!"

"Soarin?"

Fleetfoot was leaning over Soarin who had fallen over on the ground and was smiling innocently.

"Ughrrr... Fleet, what do you want?" he asked, irritated.

"We're going to dinner! I don't know why you went into Dash's room, we told you she was sick!"

Soarin visibly flinched but remained silent. She didn't look the one bit sick when he had entered... though she did have a way of toughening up in front of ponies.

"Well... ugh... never mind, let's just go." Soarin took off towards the rest of the team as Fleetfoot quirked at him and rolled her eyes, flying after him, knowing something had happened.

And, she WAS going to find out what that something was.

No matter what.

Rainbow Dash stared out of the window of the train in Canterlot. She was on the train, going back to Ponyville with Rarity. She had no idea why she was there. She could have flown. But she didn't. She didn't feel like it.

'This isn't the real Rainbow Dash... ' Rarity thought, raising an eyebrow at the mare. She looked down at her outfit she was wearing and scoffed, throwing it off her body.

"Shadow Spades really needs to have more STYLISH costumes, I mean that one was OKAY but it needs to be SPECTACULAR!" complained Rarity, looking through her costume chest.

Dash rolled her eyes and raised an eyebrow at her. "How do you even do that?"

"Do what, darling?" she asked, levitating the chest to who knows where, wearing a brand new dress so Dash wouldn't know that she was 'investigating'.

"... forget it..."

Rarity looked at her suspiciously and straightened out her dress whilst Dash gave her a blank expression.

"We're on a train and you just go and get changed?"

Rarity nodded before answering, "Why, of course! Haven't you ever got changed on a train? I simply do it almost all the time on a long trip!"

"... right... but... we don't even wear clothes on a regular basis!"

"Good point, but us Canterlot ponies must always stay in style!" she struck a pose then went back to her regular composure. "Say... do you know that show Twilight brought back from the land of that school? On that 'phone'? My little pony? Did you hear the theme tune? Why, I say, you should really look up to your name clone! Though, you do look in style with those shades of yours..."

Dash glared at Rarity before rolling her eyes, "I KNOW my awesomeness is OFF THE CHARTS but I am NOT referring to a horrible version of myself, I am TOO AWESOME to wear the dresses like yours!" she retorted.

Rarity flattened her brow. "It's called FASHION, Rainbow, you should really look into it more!"

"Research in BOOKS?! BLEH! I mean, Daring Do is AWESOME but information books? Please! It'd take me to switch bodies with TWILIGHT to read one word of one book!"

"I never said you'd have to research in books, darling, there's also museums all around! Ooh! You must SIMPLY come with me to Manehatten someday! I heard they had the biggest fashion displays in all of EQUESTRIA!" Rarity squealed.

Dash just looked at her with an even more flat expression. Boy was this trip going to be a long, boring and tiring one.

...

For Rainbow Dash at least...

Rainbow flew up to her cloud house after saying goodbye to Rarity. She had been staring at Dash all the way back, and she had no idea why. It was as if thoughts were in her mind in every direction, all directed at her.

Dash was then instantly greeted by Tank, flying up to her. She nuzzled him back in return and made her way over to the coach.
She watched Tank slowly fly his way over to her and she sighed, making space for him.

"Oh, Tank... I... I don't get it... I thought he trusted me... I thought I was his friend..." sighed Dash, softly stroking a hoof over his shell.

Tank nodded, understanding her clearly. Dash didn't notice and frowned a little.

"Why do I even try... ugh..." she stood up, looking out of her window. "I need somepony to talk to... who do you think, Tank?"

"..."

"What? Why her?

"..."

"... yeah uh... if you say so... guess I'm off to..."

"Pinkie Pie's..." Dash sighed as she stood inside Sugar Cube Corner, Pinkie throwing random questions at her. Of course, Dash didn't mind talking to Pinkie... but... asking for advice? This was a whole new thing on its own...

"So! Dashie!" Pinkie grinned, finally finishing her line of questions. "What brings YOU here today?!"

"Well... err..." Dash's eyes landed on her other four friends talking, Rarity taking one or two glances at her.

'Great... JUST what I needed... somepony stalking my every move...' she thought sarcastically, rolling her eyes.

"Um... Dashie? HELLOOOO?!"

"Um... I..."

"Well why ain't it tha gal we were just talkin' 'bout!" Applejack smirked, whilst Twilight and Fluttershy looked over at her, Rarity already had doing so.

"Yeah... interesting..." she muttered sarcastically.

"Rainbow Dash! There you are! Did you forget our meeting today?" Twilight inquired.

Dash thought for a few seconds, blushing slightly. "Uh... yeah... sorry..."

"Oh yes!" Pinkie giggled. "I forgot about that too!" Pinkie bounced across to the table, plopping herself in the seat next to Applejack and grinning whilst Twilight rolled her eyes. "Here I am, Twi!"

"You WORK here, Pinkie."

"Oh! Yes! I do! Thank you for telling me that, Twilight! I would have NEVER figured that out!" Pinkie smiled innocently, actually meaning it.

"... right..." Twilight turned back to Rainbow Dash. "RIGHT! Come on, Rainbow!"

Dash grumbled to her self quietly and made her way over to the table, having to sit next to Rarity, being the only seat left. She didn't mind her. She just wanted to know why she kept on 'spying' on her.

"Alright, now that all of us are here, why don't we just carry on with our conversation from last week, shall we? Apples or pears?" Twilight smirked.

"Um... Twilight...? D-do we have to talk about this? I-I mean... apples and pears are both nice but um I really don't like it when you girls argue and um... s-sorry y-you can carry on..." whimpered Fluttershy, her eyes barely peeking out from under the table.

Dash huffed heavily, looking at Fluttershy and Twilight with a bored expression

"Can I leave now? I don't want to be involved in this. I have better things to do." Dash stated plainly.

"Already?!" shouted Twilight, confused.

Dash glared at her. "Yes. Already. Can you not hear me?"

The other five looked at Dash in surprise as Rarity leaned towards Applejack.

"See! She's acting strange! Rainbow Dash wouldn't act like this!"

"Hm, ya'll are right. Well if ya'll figured out that Wind Rider's situation, ahm' sure that ya'll conclude to this."

"One can only hope..." she murmured out.

Dash scoffed, rolling her eyes, "I'm NOT deaf, I can hear YOU TWO... Rarity. My eye is on you... all of you... argh... screw it. Bye."

With that, she spread her wings and lifted off, out into the sky. She was usually quick and simple, but that? That was a whole other thing...

"W-what just happened?" asked Twilight, letting out an exasperated sigh.

They all just remained silent. They had no idea what was about to come. And I don't either. I'm the author but I just write as I go. Small plots are in my head! AHM!!!

When Dash had flew out, she was just flying above Ponyville, slowly approaching Cloudsdale. She didn't know where she was going. Nor did she care. She just wanted to be on her own.

' I'm expecting they would want an apology at some point... it was pretty rude of me to just bail out... UGH! None of this is helping... I need a nap...'

With that thought, she flew over to a cloud perched above her, laying softly on it with her hooves under her chin. She would apologise later. Right now, she needed space to herself. Too bad some-pony was going to ruin that.

"Oh, hey Rainbow Dash."

'That voice... ignore it.' she gritted her teeth, pretending that she hadn't heard the pony.

"Uh... are you okay?"

She looked at the pony that was talking to her. As she had expected, it was him, Soarin. She instantly looked back down, hoping and praying that he would just leave. She wasn't upset at all, just... REALLY, REALLY angry... but... she had no idea why.

Finally, she spoke up, having no idea why she did. "... N- I MEAN... yes, sorry, my words slipped, I'm fine. Really."

Her eyes met his as they looked on at each other. Soarin averted his eyes and bit his lip. He, himself, didn't know why he was talking to her.

"... okay... but... but... I... I'm really sorry about... earlier... it was my duty, without Spitfire there and all... I... don't bother saying it's fine. It's not fine. I don't deserve it in any way... and... you didn't deserve what I... threatened. I know you probably hate me... but... I... l-lo... ugh, forget it. Bye... Dashie." Soarin looked back into her eyes and turned around, silently flying out into the setting sun.

Rainbow had a blank expression on her face, trying to take in what was happening. Was he really about to admit his feelings to her? Her eyes then furrowed.

"Did... did he just call me DASHIE!!??"

Rainbow Dash was lying in her bed, thinking about her earlier talk with Soarin. She had taken in his words for the past hour or so and now, knew that he had... fancied... her...

She sighed gently, rolling onto her stomach and staring at a picture frame posted on her bedside table. She bit her lip. It was... herself... with Soarin... at the gala. At the time, Soarin was obviously her idol and... she obviously fan-girled over him like anypony would. That was why it was there. But...

'Screw him... screw it, Dash, forget all about him. He likes you... you don't care about him... it's... it's all fine... right...?' she groaned, opening her drawer and gently placing the picture frame in it. She wasn't sure why she wanted to keep it... but... she just wanted to. "No, of course it isn't... shut up Dash, your being silly..." The Wonderbolts meant everything to her... they were her one and only dream... maybe if she gave him a chance... 'Just a small one, Dash... a very slim, small, tiny chance... that's all I'm giving you, Dash... he can have that tiny chance...'

Her mind went back to earlier today. '... one... chance...'

Soarin stared at his plate of food. He hardly noticed all the chatting around the table and mess-hall, heck, he hardly knew where he was. All he was thinking about was HER.

Fleetfoot was also looking directly at him. She was starting to wonder if he had gone blind, or deaf, which was most likely at the state he was in. She knew it was something to do with Rainbow Dash, just not what. She raised an eyebrow as he stared in the distance of the cafeteria. Luckily, she wasn't the only one who noticed this.

"Clipper? Soar? Soarin! Soarin! Clipper! YO, DUDE, ARE YOU THERE?!" shouted Surprise, directly in his face, switching places each time she said his... names...?

Shaking his head, Soarin looked at Surprise before he looked back at the others. "...What?"

Fleetfoot chuckled nervously before dumping her tray in the racks and running out. "Gotta, um, DO THINGS..."

Spitfire looked back at Fleetfoot before going back to Soarin. "You've been... um... doing alot of... staring." she put flatly.

"... I have?" Soarin scratched the back of his neck with a wing before gritting his teeth. "It's nothing. Just like, um, no sleep... thats all," he thought over his answer before nodding to himself and focusing back on Spitfire. "I, uh, gotta go! Later!"

With that, he ran out to see Fleetfoot spy- AH! YOU! READER! YOU WEREN'T MEANT TO SEE THAT! THIS IS A NO SPOILER ZONE! GOOO AWAAAYYY!!!

With that, he passed his full tray to Surprise and sprinted out, leaving a confused Spitfire behind.

Fluttershy glanced at Pinkie and Rarity at the ground, beckoning her to go knock at Rainbow Dash's door. She was being forced by the two to go and get Rainbow Dash since Rarity needed her to ask 'NEEDED' questions and, well, Pinkie was just there to ask questions about Soarin... which was basically the same thing...

"Come on Fluttershy, darling! I don't want to go to Twilight's and disturb her studying! Rainbow won't be doing anything!" Rarity called.

Fluttershy glanced between the two and the door. "B-but! L-last time you two came here and um asked her loads of questions, she got really, really irritated, especially just right after her nap... I-I don't like seeing Dashie like that..." she hid her face behind her mane and whimpered.

Pinkie sighed (happily?) "Oh, come on, Fluttershy! I'm sure shes not sleeping right now!"

Fluttershy hesitantly flew over to her mansion-house-thing, pausing for a few seconds, taking a deep breathe and knocking on the door softly.

Nothing. Obviously.

Fluttershy cringed to her self as she knocked harder...

Still nothing.

"OH FLUTTERSHYY! WHATS TAKING YOU SO LONG?! I HAVEN'T HEARD A DASHIE VOICE YET!" Pinkie's voice rang through the air as Fluttershy softly glided down to the ground.

"Um... shes not answering me... she usually does when I do it... that strong..." Rarity and Pinkie looked at each other and roll their eyes.

"Try harder!" Pinkie piped. She looked down.

"B-but..."

Rarity sighed. "Okay, darling, we understand..." Pinkie frowned. "... could you pleaseeeee at least go and look through her bedroom window? Or... any window in that manner...?" Pinkie grinned.

"... um... n-no?"

"UGH!"

Rainbow Dash groaned softly, laying in her bedroom as she covered her ears to Pinkie's loud... screaming. She looked up to the ceiling, grumbling to herself.

"They do know I can hear them, right...? Out of all ponies PINKIE PIE should be the one to know that... I'll just wait until Pinkie attempts to break down my door... when Fluttershy has enough strength to carry her up... hah... Fluttershy breaking down a door... cloud... door... she would need so much anger to do that..." Rainbow snickered to herself as she conversed to the ceiling, furrowing her eyebrows as she saw a pair of bright blue eyes staring at her from her window, "Pinkie... Pie...?"

"DASHIEEEEE! OH THANK CELESTIA YOU'RE HERE! OH! MY SUPER BOUNCE WORKED! NOW! WE NEED YOU TO GO WAKE UP RAI- wait... DASHIEEEE! YOU'RE AWAKE! NOW TELL ME. SOARIN. LOVE. SOARIN. SOARINDASH?!"

"What are you tal-" she stopped her self and rolled her eyes. "You know what, why am I evening questioning it? Yes, Rainbow Dashie is awake, NOW WHAT DO YOU WANT?!"

Pinkie brushed a hoof over her shoulder. "Cool it, bruh." Rainbow stared at Pinkie in utter confusion, Pinkie brushed it off. "Auntie Pinkie is here to sort you all out!"

"Your only like, a month older than me!"

"Shhhh, respect you elders, young mare..."

"Yes," Rainbow snickered. "yes, I got it, your 80, correct?"

Pinkie's nose twitched as she glared at her. "I'm serious!" she coughed before going to her normal self. "Anyway! Answer my question?!"

Rainbow huffed. "What question? Besides, aren't Fluttershy and Rarity there?"

Pinkie snorted. "Well, IF YOU WOULD OPEN THIS WINDOW, you would be able to see your other aunts." Rainbow flattened her brow and just opened the window, rolling back onto her bed.

"EEP!" Fluttershy's hooves gave out as she dropped Rarity on the cloud floor, Rarity letting out a shriek, complaining about how dirty the floor must've been.

"It's clouds, Rarity! They can't technically get dirty, silly!"

"Oh, it's the same thing!" she waved a hoof. "And excuse me, Rainbow Dash is NOT going to be my niece!"

"It's figurative language, Rarity, maybe you should learn it." Rainbow smirked. She glanced down at Fluttershy who was shuffling in her spot. "Uh, are you okay, Flutters?"

"Um... yes."

Rarity smiled brightly, "Right! Time for interrogation!"

Pinkie cheered, "YEAH! INTERROGATION TIME!"

"Yay."

"Whelp this is where Rainbow Dashie takes her leave from 'Interrogation Time'. Runaway time."
