> Laughing with Chaos > by rainbowtiger00 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Awakening > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- A voice echoed in his dark mind. “Step one of revenge is complete…” His interest was immediately focused upon it. It was the first thing that he had heard in centuries. Thanks to Princess Celestia. Suddenly his face felt a brush of cool air, and the impact of grass hit his face. At first he didn't pay much attention to it. It was probably nothing more than another dream of what he had lost due to what the Elements of Harmony had inflicted upon him. But the familiar burn of his lungs not being able to breathe in the air that they needed, became if that was possible, worse. There was no denying it. He had to absolutely breathe, no matter what. His lungs contracted, and squeezed. To his absolute surprise, a groaning noise came out and he gasped. Air came in fast and his lungs were satisfied. Discord did a mental re-step. He was able to breathe in. This was new. Very new. For the first time in a long time, he felt the warmth of the sun on his lids. This wouldn't be possible unless he had flesh. Which he shouldn't be able to with being encased in stone. Discord slowly opened his stiff eyes. The light filled world greeted them with singing birds and ponies walking around in the gardens. Flowers lay close to his nose, filling them with their scent. The slight cool touch of a breeze upon his coat ruffled a few hairs of his fur. He blinked. “What is going on here?” He wondered. He slowly picked himself up from the ground, joints stiff from lack of movement. “I'm freed?” The thought that Princess Celestia would free him from his stone prison was rather stretching the facts. “Perhaps she is playing some sort of prank?” He thought. That thought was instantly shoved from his mind. “What, no! Stuffed up, oh so regal Princess Celestia? Play a prank?” The thought was enough to make him burst out laughing. “No way would that ever happen!” He laughed. Arguing sounded near him. Discord turned his head to see three small fillies arguing over at an another statue. The argument was full of chaos. “Chaos…Could it be that oh so high and mighty Princess Celestia and dear little Luna Woona were no longer connected to the Elements of Harmony?” If that were true, then the bars to his stone cage would have been weakened. Then all it would need was a slight push, and out came Discord. “But, wait.” He thought. “The bars should have been strong enough to hold me in even with chaos happening right at its front door. Or did the pretty Princess Celestia make it weak on purpose?” He couldn't figure it out. The fillies arguing turned from chaotic to annoying after one began to squeal rather loudly. The other two stared, then rolled their eyes. Discord stepped toward the fillies. With a snap of his talons, he levitated the statue. The fillies jumped, and ran screaming to their teacher. Discord laughed as he felt the tendrils of chaos pour from the fillies. Feeding upon the chaos made his power grow. “Soon, Princess Celestia, soon I will run Equestria!” Suddenly he remembered about the Elements of Harmony. “I better take care of them.” He muttered. One advantage of being trapped in stone was the fact that he learned the names of the bearers of passerby ponies. He didn't however know what they looked like. He tapped a pool with his claw. It turned into a screen where he could view the members of the Elements of Harmony. A purple unicorn that had a dark purple mane and tail with a pink highlight read a book. A pink star with seven other stars was on her flank. He nodded. “Twilight Sparkle, Bearer of Magic, I presume?” With an another tap, the image faded away to reveal a blue Pegasus with a rainbow mane and tail. She was hitting clouds with her hooves. A cloud with a rainbow lighting strike was on her flank. He grinned. “Rainbow Dash, Bearer of Loyalty, I believe?” Another tap revealed a white unicorn with a dark purple, curly mane and tail. She was creating a rather fashionable dress with many jewels. “Rarity, Bearer of Generosity, isn't it?” Tapping the pool again twice revealed Applejack, Bearer of Honesty, and Fluttershy, Bearer of Kindness. He stared at her image for a few moments, allowing himself to wonder. What was this one going to think? Many Kindness Bearers over the years had many different thoughts of what was the kindest thing to do to him. All of those thoughts had obviously been wrong. Otherwise, he wouldn't be here. And every single one of them had been about changing him. Him! His body, however chaotic it might be, was fine the way it was. Tapping it for a final time, revealed a pink mare with a dark pink mane. She seemed to be entertaining a foal and filly. “…Pinkie Pie. Bearer of Laughter. My personal favorite. She seemed rather likeable. He would of moved on. Really, he would of. Its just, when the God of Chaos sees a mare go into a cupboard and come out of a fireplace laughing without an inch of coal dust on her, he would get a little interested. Deciding quickly, he evaporated into thin air, leaving behind multicolored gumballs in his wake. He reappeared next to Pinkie Pie. There was no worry for her to notice him. No pony could notice him in this form. He was…curious really. No Bearer of Laughter was able to bend reality like that before. Logically, the mare should be rather frightened of what she was capable of. But she wasn't. And that was what is different. If she had been around before, the ponies would of decided her a monster in disguise. That would have been…unpleasant at the very best. Pinkie Pie placed the Cake twins in their highchairs, and waved at them. "Guess what?" Pound cake blinked his eyes at her, and stretched out his hooves. "Inkie!" He cried. Pinkie Pie giggled. "Well yes there is me, but. Guess what we are going to do today?" Pumpkin cake stretched out her hooves and cried out. "Pie!" Pinkie Pie giggled again. "Not pie, we are going to make cupcakes!" She bounded over to the counter, and placed two bowls onto the surface. "One is for my friend in Canterlot's cousin. He is a Night Guard in Princess Luna's branch of military. So he likes meat! So he gets special cupcakes. The other are going to be for you two!" The twins cheered. Pinkie Pie lifted the foal and filly out of the high chairs and placed them on the floor.Discord raised an eyebrow. She was going to make meat cupcakes? Such a daring thing to do. Only griffons, Bat Ponies, and some rather really crazy ponies would eat it. Also himself. She measured two cups of flour and poured one in each bowl. Then she poured a cup of milk into each bowl. The twins watched hungrily. Each bowl had three eggs thrown into it. One had pinkish chunks thrown in. The other had blueberries. Lastly, a half cup of chocolate chips were thrown in. Then Pinkie Pie lifted up a spoon in each hoof. "Here we go!" She cried out. Clunking each spoon into each bowl, Pinkie Pie spun the batter around madly. It stirred together, becoming a creamy white, and the air began smelling like chocolate. The twins sniffed the air madly. "Yummy!" They cried out at the same time. Pinkie Pie grinned. "Yummy indeed!" She glanced at the time and froze. "Uh oh." She muttered. She was running out of time. Sweat began to roll down her cheek. Her second mother, Mrs. Cake had told her some time ago to collect more wood. The only nearby resource was the Everfree forest. But if that was where she was supposed to go, she needed to go to the edge of the Everfree forest in about twelve minutes. Otherwise, there would be no fire for the oven, and no heat for the cupcakes. Pinkie Pie went to the twins and handed each a bowl. “Okay twins, start stirring. Gummy!” She pulled him with his tail in her mouth from behind a chair. “Teach the twins how to stir, OK?” Gummy blinked. She ran outside at top speed. Gummy blinked, and twitched his tail back and forth ever so slowly. The twins stared, then burbled. Pumpkin Cake grabbed the spoon with her hoof, and began to copy Gummy's movement. Pound Cake did the same. Mr. Cake walked into the room, stared, then walked out. Discord watched. What an interesting little pony that one was. He glanced at the sun. It was time to get moving with his plans of world domination, yet. Discord tapped a foot in thought. Snapping his talons, he created a double of Pinkie Pie. Even her personality was matched as a mirror. Another snap and the double was in Applejack's field. "Perfect." He grinned. Time passed as the twins stirred. Discord wondered idly what was keeping Pinkie Pie. Then a loud clatter of wood sounded outside, along with a very cheerful yelp. A glance outside, and there was Pinkie Pie playing in the chocolate rain that his cotton candy clouds poured down. A smile came unbidden to his lips at the sight of the mare standing, soaked in the rain, her mouth open to receive the milky chocolate goodness that rained, well quite literally from the heavens. So preoccupied with the mare was he, that he didn't notice the young teenaged alicorn flying in the heavens above him.
