> Discovery > by socky_dude > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: Stuck > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Discord never imagined this would happen to him. As he struggled to be freed from this... VERY ANNOYING fallen tree, he could sense that somepony was getting close to him. And he did NOT want to be seen by the likes. After all, he was a draconequus, and he didn't think that a simpleton pony would quite understand his situation. They would probably run and scream for the authorities, and he'd end up dead, because his life was just dandy wasn't it? So, now you're probably thinking, Can't he just use some of his magic to roll the log off of his tail? And you're right to think that! But the thing is, Discord couldn't really control all of his powers just yet. He HAD tried to simply magically roll the damned wood off of his tail. But instead, he had just made the log BIGGER. WOW HOW HELPFUL! And no matter how hard he pulled, he simply couldn't run away. He could tell the pony was getting closer, and he didn't know what to do just yet. Let him think! He's so young, give him a minute to think of a dastardly plan! That was when the pony spotted him. She dropped all of her belongings and stared wide eyed at the creature. Discord froze, still trying to come up with an idea. "CELESTIAAAA!!!!!!!" The pony shouted in an octave he didn't think was possible. Great! Now, what was his plan? Surely he had to have come up with one by now right? Of course he did! And he would like to personally state that this plan, was one of the most extraordinary plans ever to have been come up with! Sit there, and wait to die. Good plan right? "Luna what do you want?!?" He heard another feminine voice call out, most likely to the blue one in front of him. "GET OVER HERE NOW!!! THERE'S A DEMON!!!" Demon, huh? That was a good one, but he had heard worse. He had once been called a wickedly reprehensible oaf and a debased mattress-soiling cesspool of putrid effluvium. Now he couldn't wrap his head around that one, but when the crowd around him had oooo'd, obviously impressed, he knew it had been a very clever insult. "Luna... There is no such thing as demo- HOLY HAYSTACKS!!!" The other voice had screamed when she had trotted over to the blue filly. Discord clenched his teeth, furrowed his brow, and waited for the pain that was sure to come. "Poor thing! How did it stuck like that??" What? 'Poor thing?' That wasn't the normal way ponies had reacted to him. Discord slowly opened his eyes, and saw the older one, the one named Celestia apparently, trying to pick up the log with her magic. "ERRRGGGHHH!! COME ON LUNA HELP ME!!" Celestia huffed, obviously straining to move the heavy log. The one called Luna stared at Celestia wide eyed, shaking a bit, probably out of fear. "A-are thou kidding??" She stammered. "SHUT UP AND HELP ME FREE HIM!!" Luna obeyed the older one, and began to emit magic from her tiny horn. They both grunted and pulled with all their might to raise the log merely 5 inches in the air. It was enough however, and Discord managed to slip his tail out from under the log. The two fillies heaved as they dropped it with a loud SLAM, and Discord looked at his tail. It was bent at an awkward angle, and anypony would be able to tell that it's broken. "Arrrgghhh," He groaned in slight pain, and the fillies looked over at him. "Oh no... His tail is broken.." Celestia muttered, closing in on Discord. He backed up slightly, a bit frightened. Maybe he could make a run for it? He was about to, but it was too late. The white one grabbed a hold of his tail with her magic. "Hopefully Star Swirls lessons have payed off...." She said, and that's when she set his tail back in place. "AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! WHY??? CAN'T YOU WARN SOMEONE WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO TORTURE THEM???" He screamed in agony, wrenching back and away from the ponies. The ponies however, gaped at the creature, and both stared at him in complete shock. "THOU CAN SPEAK??" Luna asked, breaking the ice first. "OF COURSE I CAN SPEAK IDIOT! NOW TELL YOUR FRIEND HERE THAT YOU DON'T GO AROUND PULLING TAILS AND EXPECT THEM NOT TO BITE BACK!!" Discord growled, staring angrily at the filly in front of him. She looked scared for a moment, but her features quickly turned into that of a glare. "WELL SOR-RY FOR MENDING YOUR TAIL!!" She griped sarcastically. "YOU ONLY SET IT IN PLACE MORON!!" "NO I DIDN'T!!" "YES YOU DID!!" "THAT WAS A BONE SPELL!! I SET YOUR TAIL IN PLACE AND HEALED IT!!" "NO YOU DI-" Discord stopped when he realized he had made his tail go strait in anger. He looked back at it, and bent it to the left and right, now coming to the conclusion that he could bend it perfectly normal. "Oh.." He uttered, turning back to the heated white filly. He smiled sheepishly, hoping that his silent apology made up for the fact that he had yelled. "HA!! I WAS RIGHT!! WHO'S THE MORON NOW??" Celestia boasted, beaming at the draconequus in victory. Her smile wasn't long lasting though, as she began to stare up and past Discord, her face practically saying "Oh crap". Discord looked behind him, seeing a bearded stallion loom above him. The stallion, however, did not take head in the creature, and rather fixed his gaze upon Celestia. "A princess does NOT insult others." The stallion grumbled, his voice tired and low. Celestia frowned, and looked down at the ground. "Yes sir." She mumbled, the much older stallion now looking at Luna. "What are you two doing out here so early?" He asked, looking back at Celestia. "Well... um... you see sir-" Celestia began, but she was unfortunately interrupted by Luna, who flapped her wings in excitement. "OOH OOH!! We know! We wanted to play sir!!" She said without hesitation, smiling like a ninny. "Play? Can you not play indoors?" The stallion questioned, his beard bouncing as he spoke. "Uh we could! But uh.." "We LIKE playing outdoors more!!" Luna interrupted once more, trotting up closer to the group. "You know you're supposed to ask when you play outdoors! These woods aren't safe for foals." "I know sir! We we're gonna ask bu-" "But Tia said that if we asked thou, thou would send some stupid guard with us! So, Tia insisted we go alone!" "Did she now?" The bearded pony said, looking down upon Celestia as she nervously gulped. "WH-WHAT SHE MEANS BY THAT IS-" "And then we found that thing!" Luna said, pointing at Discord quickly. "Thou was stuck under this HUGE log! We pulled it o-" "OH MY SWEET STARS LUNA SHUT UP!!!" Celestia yelled, Luna finally stopping. Luna frowned and looked down at her hooves. "Celestia." The stallion growled sharply, catching the attention of the small alicorn. "Y-yes...?" She stuttered, staring wide eyed at the male before her, trembling a bit. "A Princess does NOT yell at her sister, or anyone for that matter!" So the two were sisters? Discord would have never imagined that. They looked nothing alike! He wondered if they were merely half-sisters, or something like that. And how come this bearded pony wasn't giving Discord the least bit of attention? Was this some sick nightmare he was having? Nopony had ever NOT given him attention before, and as much as he didn't like how ponies treated him, he couldn't help but feel left out. Did he want the stallion to yell at him as well? It was idiotic, but actually, he sort of did. He wondered if he bit the old pony's leg that would do the trick. "Come on girls. Indoors. NOW." The male said sternly, right before Discord was able to sink his teeth into him. Darn. "B-But sir! The... THING..... shouldn't we take him with us??" Celestia asked, beginning to trot along with her sister. "Hmm?" He mumbled, looking to the small filly for a moment. "Yes yes sure." Celestia beamed, finally getting something good out of the bitter old pony's mouth. She looked back at Discord, who had stayed put through all of this. She stopped trotting with the others, and smiled sweetly at the mismatched creature. "Come on! I'm sure you're hungry, traveling alone and whatnot! We have biscuits!" She said, reaching out her hoof as a sign of acceptance. Discord stared at the hoof, not sure what to make of the situation. He should really get back to traveling, he needed to reach that campsite before dawn tomorrow. But, the temptation of food made his stomach growl. He hadn't eaten in 3 days, and he couldn't conjure up food magically yet. He wished he could, it would make this trip a lot easier, but so far he was only able to float and do a number of random things without his consent. He was hungry... Discord slowly grasped the hoof in front of him, looking into the purple eyes of the friendly filly, as if asking her if everything was going to be alright. She smiled even more so, and began pulling the draconequus along through the forest.
