"You fool!" Chrysalis yelled, surrounded by her Changeling troops. "What could you possibly do to hurt me! I have an army!"
"And we have a Fluttershy."
Twilight smiled smugly, and the butter yellow pegasus stepped out from behind the pillar where she had been hiding a moment ago. She gave a terrified look with her big, soft eyes and whispered.
"Um, hi?" Fluttershy squeaked.
Chrysalis rolled her eyes. What kind of fool did they think she was?! She wasn't going to fall for something as low and underhanded as playing the cute card! Right? Right? Right...?
"Could you maybe...stop trying to take over Equestria?" Fluttershy whispered. "You know, if you want to...I mean you don't have to do what I'm saying because I'm just asking you to, you can do what you want I suppose...but, um, instead of invading you could have just asked..." Fluttershy's voice had become almost inaudible.
Chrysalis rolled her eyes. What were they hoping to achieve here? It didn't quite make sense to her.
"Oh, okay, I guess you don't really care..."
Chrysalis' cheeks burned. This was actually adorable. The big teal eyes, the soft whispery voice, the timidness. It made her want to cuddle the little pony. It was just so cute!
Okay, focus Chrysalis, she told herself. You're trying to take over Equestria for food, not hug adorable ponies. AGH!
Twilight smug grin changed into a giggle as Chrysilas stood silent for around a minute. She was at war with herself, Twilight could tell. Before she knew it the giggle turned into a laugh, and laugh turned into full-blown hysterics. She didn't know why it was so funny, but it was!
Chrysalis blushed. Fluttershy shrank down so low if she was white she would have looked like the ground. The rest of the room looked on in confusion, and Twilight continued laughing for some reason.
"But, um, I'd really like it if...maybe...you would go back to where you came from?" Fluttershy continued. "Because we kind of need the love here, and you're not really allowed to have it..."
Fluttershy almost started bawling. "I'm really sorry but we need our love! I don't know, maybe we could share it..."
Chrysilas felt something. It was like a niggling doubt in the back of her mind, but everytime she focused on it, it scattered. She didn't know what it was, and now she certainly didn't know what to do. This pony...the cuteness...GAH.
Suddenly, the sound of crying broke out from somewhere in the wedding hall. It was coming from Fluttershy, yet Twilight didn't take her gaze off Chrysalis. She was enjoying this awkwardness immensely.
Chrysalis felt bad for some reason. Normally she hated ponies, but this was just sad. She didn't want to stand by and watch this adorable pony cry. Despite the fact that she had never talked to Fluttershy in her entire life, she really quite liked her and thought she was quite adorable.
Chrysilas, against everything she believed in, against everything she had ever done in her entire life, went over and hugged Fluttershy. To her surprise, Fluttershy hugged her back. All the changelings stopped buzzing in shock. All the noble's mouths were wide, and Twilight kept on smiling. This was great for her. Not so much for everyone else.
Chrysalis' face broke out into a smile. She knew what the black spot in the back of her mind was. She was feeling love, and subconsciously feeding from it. Then she was confused. Changelings and ponies could form actual...connections? She didn't know anything like this was possible!
I really need to get out more, Chrysalis thought.
Fluttershy smiled through her tears. "Thank you for comforting me. I didn't know Changelings could be so nice."
Neither did I, thought Chrysalis. She got to her hooves and helped Fluttershy up. Green magic swirled about over until she changed into a light blue pegasus, with a green and black curly mane, and a cutie mark of seven shooting stars.
"Okay, I'm calling the invasion off, telling you to all turn into your own OC and feeding off love that way, and saying that I'm going to live in Ponyville now. Adeiu."
"Yay!" Fluttershy attempted to shout, even though she knew the only pony who could properly hear her was Chrysalis.
Chrysalis and Fluttershy walked out, flanked by the Mane 6 minus Twilight, the nobles, and then finally Twilight herself while Cadance and Shining Armour got married.
Fluttershy turned her head around the door again. "Excuse me Princess?"
"Yes, my little pony?" Celestia said, slightly bewildered.
"Could we maybe, and I'm not saying we have to because it's just an idea, but could we try to share love with Changelings?"
Celestia looked at Shining Armor and Cadance. They both shrugged. She would have assumed Cadance would have a vendetta against Chrysalis because she imprisoned Cadance, but she was the princess of love. So...
"Of course..."
Four Years Later
"Aww, she's so cute!" Fluttershy squealed. Flurry Heart was one year old, and Fluttershy and Chrysalis were visting Cadance and Shining Armor in the Crystal Empire. As Flurry was probably the most loved thing in the entire universe, Chrysalis was going a little crazy.
"Chrysalis, are you okay?" Fluttershy asked, as green flames swirled around Chrysalis and she turned back into the black swiss cheese that she was.
She panted. "Yes, I'm fine."
"No, you're not. Is it all the love?"
"Maybe you should head home," Cadance said. Shining Armor nodded, but Cadance knew that was more because he still didn't really trust Changelings.
"I second that," agreed Fluttershy. "Come on Chrysalis."
Chrysalis was shaking and snarling. She kept hissing, and Shining was having none of it. "GET OUT!"
Suddenly Chrysalis snatched up Flurry Heart and ran off. Flurry giggled and jumped around. Fluttershy, on the other hand...
"CHRYSALIS!!!"
