The ponies we all know and love, are about to start some gaming. Shenanigans begin.

Please don't read this. It was a stupid idea to begin with!

The Mane 6 play Undertale

View Online

The Mane 6 were chatting inside the castle of Princess Twilight Sparkle. It was nothing out of the ordinary. Both Twilight and Rarity had just solved a friendship problem, and they were telling their friends about it.

“And then we came back,” said Twilight, concluding her story.

“It was incredibly hard getting them to be friends again,” Rarity added. She loved sharing the story, just as much as Twilight.

“Oh my,” Fluttershy said in shock. “We haven't seen a friendship problem that massive before,”

“I’m pretty sure ya did a good job,” Applejack replied.

“I wish I could have been there,” Rainbow Dash said under her breath.

“I wish you guys could have stayed here,” Pinkie Pie pointed out. “You two missed out on a lot of things!”

“Alright,” said Twilight, now in interest. “What did you guys do?”

Silence rose into the room, as nopony let out a word. After some time, Twilight spoke again.

“Well, Pinkie,” she started. “Since you brought it up, you tell us what you did while me and Rarity were gone,”

Pinkie Pie stared at her saddlebag. She reached for it, opened it up, and pulled out a long, thin, pink rectangular object. The flat top of it showed an image of her Cutie Mark.

“Pinkie, why do you have your laptop?” Dash asked.

“Because,” said began. “I Found this cool game and I want to show you it!”

“Oh,” Rarity said in delight “What’s the game called?”

“Is called Undertale. It's like a RPG where your choices affect what happens in the end! There are these funny skeletons, and a weird cow that acts like a mother figure, and a evil flower that turns into a horrible demon! You gotta see it for yourselves!”

All of her friends just stared at Pinkie with confused looks. They didn't understand a world Pinkie said. Despite that, they began to get a little interested in the game, and parts of them wanted to see what their pink friend was even talking about.

“Sounds like a fun game,” said Twilight. “Can you show us?”

“Okie Dokie Lokie,” the pink pony chirped, full of excitement. She played Undertale twice before, and she couldn't wait to play it for a third time with her friends.

Pinkie opened up her laptop, loaded up the game and waited for her friends to see. The rest of the Mane 6 trotted over to Pinkie to see the game in action. Once the game was finished loading, it should an empty black screen, with the word “Undertale” in large white capital letters. At the bottom of the screen, there showed in small text the words “Press 2 or enter.”

Pinkie clicked the enter key with her hoof. When she did, the opening cutscene began to play out to the 6 ponies.

------------

Once the cutscene had finished, The Mane 6 were displayed with a barrage of letters. The top of the screen showed the sentence “Name the fallen human.”

“So,” Twilight spoke. “How does this game work again Pinkie?”

“There are two ways we can play this game,” Pinkie Pie answered. “The Pacifist way, or the Genocide way. The Pacifist way involves you trying to tame and befriend every enemy you see. The Genocide way has you killing the enemies in order to get stronger.” The descriptions of the Genocide way made most of Pinkie’s friends gasp. “Both of these ways give you different scenarios and endings, depending on what you do.”

The ponies were speechless. They thought it would just be a normal game. But from what Pinkie Pie told them, their thoughts changed dramatically.

“Alright,” Twilight said, a little terrified. “Can we do the Pacifist Way?”

“Okay Twilight,” Pinkie replied with glee. “Just remember; gain any LV, and the game will turn into the Genocide way. Be very careful.”

“What's LV?” Twilight asked.

Pinkie shook her head. “You guys have a lot to learn about this game.”

Pinkie moved over in her seat to make room for Twilight. When she was sitting, the pink pony began to use the arrow keys and mouse to type in a name.

“F, R, I, S, K,”

Twilight looked at her with confusion. “Why are name it Frisk?”

“Because,” she started. “It's her actual name in the game. Naming it something else would be pointless, and her name has nothing to do in the game, unless you're doing the Genocide way.”

“Fair enough,” said Twilight, once again, full of confusion.

After typing in “FRISK” in the name creation, Pinkie clicked on the Enter key. She clicked it again when the game said “Is this name correct?”

The screen on her laptop started to brighten up, until it was pure white. When the screen returned, it showed of what appears to be a human girl, lying on a bed of flowers. She had yellowish skin, brown hair, and a light blue jumper with magenta stripes. The girl, Frisk, began to walk around when Twilight clicked on the arrow keys. She controlled her of the flowers and into a long hallway.

When she reached the end of long corridor, there was the entrance to another room. This room was completely dark, with the only light shining in the centre, where a small white flower stood, smiling.

Several hours of interaction, sparing, and weird fights later.

After finishing of Omega Flowey, getting into an argument about whether or not they should kill him, and listening to a phone call with Sans, Papyrus and Undyne, the Mane 6’s long journey through the world of Undertale would be over.

That is, until Flowey showed up, not withering and decaying after the hard fight they had, just looking at them, shocked, as if he knew the ponies were all there.

“Why?” They text above him read. “Why did you let me go? Don't you realize that being nice, just makes you get hurt? Look at yourself! You made all these great friends! But now, you’ll probably never see them again! Not to mention how much they've been sent back by you. Hurts, doesn't it? If you had just gone through without caring about anyone, you won't have to feel bad now. So, I don't get it? If you really did everything the right way, why did things still end up like this? Why? Is life really that unfair?”

He paused for a second. “Say, what if I told you, I knew some way to get a better ending? You’ll have to load up your game file and…”

Flowey looked over his shoulder. “Well, in the meantime, why don't you go see Dr. Alphys? It seems like you could have been better friends. Who knows, maybe she's got the key to your happiness?”

Flowey gained a big smile back on his face. “See you soon!” With that, he disappeared, and the game reset.

As the opening cutscene rolled with the 8-bit tune in the background, the 6 ponies just stood there, staring. Staring at the laptop with happy faces. The ending they saw was to good to be true. They had no words at what they had just witnessed.

“Pinkie,” Twilight spoke up. The pink pony looked at her. “Can you show us the Genocide way?”

“Of course Twilight,” Pinkie Pie answered. “But, just as a warning, if you thought that final battle with Flowey was hard, you guys haven't seen anything yet.”
