The Human of Equestria

Mitchell is a boy who wished that his life was something more. Little did he know that silent wish wouldn't go unheard

Mitchell isn't what you'd call a social teen. He'd rather stay at home alone with his electronics rather than go out to the mall with a friend or go walk around the neighborhood. Some nights he'd dream dreams, big dreams. He knew what they meant, he longed for an adventure. He was tired of the same boring day routines. He wanted something different, something new. One early morning, he woke up in his same old bed in his same old house in a colorful world filled with ponies and other mythical creatures...yep...same boring old---WAIT WHAT?!

Chapter 1: Just Like Any Other Day

View Online

I sat in the car, my mom sat silently next to me as she drove the long road back to our home from school. I sat there, trying my best to fall asleep, but every time I managed to shut my eyes, they opened up again.

I would've been listening to music with my headphones on, but mom always gets mad whenever I do something like that. Everyday was the same for me. Get up, eat breakfast, get ready for school, go to school, get home, do homework, eat dinner, then finally sleep.

I did this everyday of every week. Well, except for weekends and vacations, those were the only days where I could really let my imagination flow.

For those of you who don't understand, the only place where I can escape my boring life is in my mind. Outside I can't do anything but in my head, oh in my head I can be anything I want. But living in my head only gave me the painful reminder that it could never happen.

I know I make it sound like I'm nothing but a baby, but I'll admit it's not all bad. I have a loving family, a nice house, and the worst thing that happens to me is a bad grade at school. Honestly, I feel like I complain too much to even deserve the life I have.

We finally pulled into the garage, I stepped out of the large car, carrying my bag over one arm, and my coat in the other. My mom always nagged me about wearing my coat, and I always said something like this: "Why do I need to wear it? It's not cold in the car."

I stepped inside the house, to be greeted by my dog, Bosco. The Wheaten Terrier ran over to me and jumped up to me, trying to give my face kisses. I'd smile and put down my bag so then I could pet the dog a bit easier.

My mom walked inside after me, reminding me to do my homework and wash up. To me, she sounded like the adults in Charlie Brown

A few hours later...

"Finally!" I managed to say under my groan. I laid back on my big comfy bed, finally having finished my homework. Most of the homework wasn't even hard, it was just time consuming. And THAT'S what made it annoying.

I didn't even walk downstairs to say goodnight, I yelled it from the top of the stairs and stripped down to my boxers. I plopped into bed, pulling the covers over me and I let out a relaxed sigh as I sank into the comfy mattress.

I laid there in my dark room. It was 11:11, time to make a wish. I never really believed in it, but hey, it couldn't hurt right?

I sat up against the headboard for a moment, then spoke out loud. "I wish that I could be somewhere else. I don't care where. I want to be in a place where I can have an adventure. Where almost everything is different."

After saying this, I checked the clock as it just switched from 11:11 to 11:12. I let out a small sigh in relief. I don't care if it didn't work, I just hopped that no one heard my wish. I laid back down slowly, and I felt my eyes want to close. I slowly closed my eyes to drift into deep slumber.

The Next Morning...

I woke up and let out a loud yawn, taking a minute to stretch my limbs. I looked at the clock, my eyes widened at the time. "5:28?! I'm gonna be late for school!"

At that very moment, I ran out of bed and zoomed down the steps, almost tripping over one, which caused me to stub my toe. I hopped over to the kitchen, one of my feet clutched in my hands.

I got out some cereal and poured a bowl, pouring milk at the same time. I grabbed a spoon and started to eat. Each time I went in for another spoonful, the spoon hit the bowl with a 'clang' and some milk spilled out of the bowl.

I heard the birds tweeting outside of my house. Nothing quite like the singing of birds in the morning! After a few minutes, I finally finished and ran back to go up the steps. But before I could even reach the stairs, something caught my eye. Out the window, I could see the landscape. Normally, this wouldn't be strange but...

That wasn't my neighborhood.

I slowly approached the front door, giving the knob a turn and a pull and I looked at the outside world. Everything was so....colorful! The grass, trees, sky, even the birds flying through the sky!

The cool breeze hit my face, and it attracted me to take a step out my door. My house wasn't in the neighborhood. Instead, it was in a large open field, and a decently big town as a mile or two across it. I couldn't help but stare in awe at the morning beauty, my eyes refused to stray away from it, as much as my brain told them to.

Now, I eventually remembered my parents, brothers, and dog. I decided to check on them.

I ran up the stairs and slowly opened the door to my younger brother's room. Not here. So I moved on to my youngest brother's room. Nope. Finally, I checked in on my parents. Nada. Not even the dog was around. I started to become worried, and I called out for them. All of a sudden, I heard a small voice outside my house.
"Hello? Anypony home?"

Chapter 2: Where the heck am I?!

My head whipped in the direction of the small voice. It definitely belonged to a little girl, maybe around the age of...I wanna say...10? She had an accent, which honestly sounded adorable.

I walked towards the door, slowly tiptoeing down each step, cringing with the creaks they made. The reason I was so nervous was because this entire world was colorful! Well, sounds like a dumb reason I know...but if you woke up in a completely different place and every sign of life in your house was gone you'd be pretty damn scared too!

I eventually made it to the door, reaching my hand out and grabbing the knob, pulling it open. Whatever I was expecting, it sure as hell wasn't this.

On the other side of the door was a pony! It had a strawberry red mane and tail, along with a butter yellow coat. I stared down at the filly, and it stared back up at me. It looked like a girl, so at least I knew something.

The strangest part wasn't even the colors of her coat and mane, it was the marking on her flank. It looked like a shield, with an apple on it. Inside the apple was a large pink heart. What kind of person would tattoo a pony? It didn't have a use and it didn't seem to have any significance.

I then remembered the voice, and looked around, trying to find the source. I noticed the small filly start to back off,then she ran away, yelling and screaming in terror "M-M-Monster!!!" I believed she yelled.....wait...yelling and screaming?

My eyes grew wide as I recognized the voice. THATs who was talking?! The pony could talk?! I was stunned to say the least, but a cool breeze brought me back to my senses.

I looked down, noticing I was still dressed in nothing my my boxer shorts. I looked out at the field and the town, then looked back at my boxers. The town could wait a minute, I didn't wanna make my first impression with something sticking out ya know?

A few minutes later...

I locked the door behind me then I ran out into the field, now dressed in a light blue polo shirt and jeans. I decided to wear my white Nike's instead of my Vans because Nike's were much more comfortable and much easier to run in.

I ran through the green grass, trying to run as fast as I could to the town directly ahead of me. I looked up, noticing a large group of clouds. Nothing strange here! I continued my running, but slowed down to a nice jog. I didn't wanna waste energy.

I spotted a large castle in the town. It was unlike anything I've ever seen! It was big, and shaped like a tree! it seemed to be made up entirely of crystals, which amazed me the most! Whoever lived in that castle must have been loaded! This only made me even more eager to get to the town.

As I got closer, I couldn't help but notice a shadow continue to zoom by me. But every time I looked up, I was too late and whatever was flying above me was gone. Probably a hawk or a falcon, right?

I sped up to a sprint again, then heard a voice from above. "Take this you big hairless monkey!" I couldn't see who said that because before I knew it, I was tackled into the dirt. I slowly lifted my head from the ground, shaking my head, a bit dazed from the sudden tackle.

"What the heck...what gives?" I managed to say through the grass blades in my mouth. I spat out the blades of grass, once again hearing that same female tomboyish voice behind me.

"What are you doing around here monster?! You better get out of here or else I, Rainbow Dash, will kick your sorry flank into the dirt again!" She said. 'Rainbow Dash?' I thought to myself. 'What's that? Some new flavor of ice cream?'

I slowly got up, dusting off myself before turning around to approach my attacker. My eyes only caught sight of yet another pony, but this one was no filly. It was a mare, but something was off. And I'm not talking about the cyan blue coat or the rainbow mane and tail!

She had wings! She was floating in the air as if she were a butterfly! The last pony didn't have wings, so perhaps there were different types of ponies around here? It took me some time to notice that I was staring at her, what snapped me out of it was her yelling. "Hello? Anypony home?!" I shook my head, then once again looked up at the cyan blue pegasus.

"L-Look, I don't wanna cause trouble! I'm just lookin--" Before I could finish, I was cut off by the rude pegasus.

"Yeah right! You probably wanna attack Ponyville! That's why you were running towards it wasn't it?! Well prepare yourself for a beating!" Ponyville? Seriously? It sounded like something from a little girls show.

I barley managed to dodge her next attempt to tackle me. She was really, REALLY FAST! While she was dazed from hitting the ground, I sprinted towards town, noticing the pegasus named Rainbow Dash hot on my tail.

'Wait...maybe if I wait till the last minute, then take a turn, she won't be able to make the turn! Physics class don't fail me now!' I thought to myself. I kept running as she got closer and closer to me.

'Closer...closer...now!' I took a sharp turn to the right, continuing to run. I looked behind me as I ran, hoping that she couldn't stop only to be greeted with the familiar cyan blue coat. I was tackled to the ground, we rolled around a bit from the collision.

I landed on my back, Rainbow Dash pinned me down so I couldn't move. For a pony, she was actually a lot stronger than she looked! Her magenta eyes glared at me, I shut my eyes and cringed, awaiting the beating.....but nothing happened!

I opened one eye, noticing that she was glowing violet...and she was sparkly! She suddenly floated off of me and levitated in the air.

"Rainbow Dash! That's enough!" Said a voice, yet again female. I turned my head and saw 5 more mares. One was presumably the one who was levitating Rainbow Dash.

She was purple with a star on her flank. She also had a horn and wings. An odd type of pony. What was she? A pegacorn?

The mare next to her was a shade of orange with freckles on her cheeks. She had a pretty big cowboy hat and had apples on her flank. The rest weren't really note worthy.

One was white with a fancy purple hairdo and diamonds on her flank, a unicorn. One was butter yellow with a light pink mane and tail, she was a pegasus. And finally--- 'Hey...I could've sworn there were five. Where'd the fifth one go..?'

"HI!!!!!"

Chapter 3: Magical Ponies

I laid on the ground for what seemed like eternity. My ears were still wringing after 5 minutes of laying there on the ground. It looked like the purple pony was questioning/scolding Rainbow Dash.

The crazy pink pony was staring at me, making silly faces right in front of me. I assume she thought that she upset me and she was trying to cheer me up. I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't working. The pale yellow pony was hiding behind the cowboy pony, who was looking at me a bit suspiciously all while trying to calm down shy yellow over there.

My ears stopped ringing, only to hear the pink pony make silly sounds while making faces. After another minute or two I blocked her mouth with my hand. "I'm fine, I'm fine"

"Okay!" I heard her say, but her voice was muffled by my hand. I slowly got up, knocking the pink one onto the grass and she rolled around. The pegacorn approached me cautiously, then asked me something I was hoping I wouldn't hear.

"Excuse me...I apologize for my friend..." She looked over to the pink bundle of happiness, who was now playing around his my hand for whatever reason. "Err....both of em." She said.

She glared a small bit at Rainbow Dash, who was glaring at me. "Rainbow Dash? Don't you have something you want to say to..." She then looked to me, hoping for a name obviously.

"M-Mitchell" I hesitantly responded. The purple pegacorn would smile and nod, before glaring again at Rainbow Dash. "Don't you have something to say to Mitchell?"

Rainbow Dash just glared at me and responded. "Of course not! I was just protecting Ponyville from this hairless monkey!" Saying this, she flew at me and pointed a hoof at me, which made me flinch and back up slightly.

"Rainbow Dash! Just because he looks different doesn't mean you can just claim he's a monster! What if he were a friend of Princes--I mean, Celestia and Luna, and you just hurt him?"

Hearing this, it caused the rainbow pony to gulp and look down, obviously regretting her choice of approach. She floated down to the grassy ground, looking at the ground, then mumbling. "I'm sorry..."

Hearing this I was unsure of how to approach. Rainbow angry pony says she's sorry. I decide to give her a friendly response. Didn't wanna come off as rude and mean. I gave her a smile and said. "N-No problem, it happens I guess?"

The pegacorn smiled, happy that there would be no fighting between us. "Ok, now that THAT'S out of the way, allow me to introduce ourselves! My name is Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship!" She said.

She then pointed to each of the other ponies while saying their names. "Twilight, Rainbow Dash, AppleJack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie." I repeated. I HAD to introduce Applejacks to AppleJack! That would be an interesting time!

I looked over at Rainbow Dash, who still seemed a bit upset by her actions. I held out my fist for a...idk...hoofbump? They don't have hands, so I assume they do this instead. "Hey, no hard feelings right?" I asked, giving her a warm smile.

She still seemed a bit untrusting towards me, but returned the gesture, giving my fist a slight bump with her hoof. "Ok...just don't make me have to kick your flank again." She said, smiling cockily. I couldn't help but let out a slight chuckle by how cocky she was.

I looked over to Twilight, I had to ask her this question. "Hey, just wondering. What are you? Are you a pegacorn or something?" I asked. Twilight seemed a bit confused by being called a 'pegacorn.'

"What? Pegacorn? No, I'm what's called an Alicorn. There are only four in equestrian, including myself. All of which are the princesses of Equestria!" She said, a bit proudly.

I was totally gonna keep calling her a pegacorn. And Equestria? What the heck's Equestria? It was clear I wasn't on the same planet anymore. I could tell that from the very beginning actually.

"Actually, that kinda brings up a question that I have for you..." She started. I had no idea she'd ask this. It was clear this world was ruled by dominantly ponies. But I thought there'd at least be a small population of humans. "What are you?" She asked. It was a fair question I guess.

So I went on, explaining that I was a human. Twilight seemed to be confused in the least, but she wasn't the one to ask the next question. "Well, how in tarnation did that big ol' house get in the middle o' the field?" AppleJack would ask.

"Uh...I'd be lying if I told you that I knew how. It's my house, but I don't know how it got here with me." Twilight seemed curious, appearing to be in deep thought.

The unicorn known as Rarity spoke up and said. "Excuse me Mr. Mitchell, I couldn't help but notice your choice of clothing! I like the smart clothing choice! You simply MUST tell me about the fashion where you're from!"

I gave her a bit of a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of my head. "W-Well, I was never really much of a fashion guy, but I could show you some of my clothing if you'd like." This seemed to satisfy her, she seemed excited to say the least.

Twilight once again spoke up. "Well, how about we get you to Ponyville before asking anymore questions. I need to write to the Celestia about this anyways." So we all walked towards the town known as Ponyville. Little did I know, my new life would start here.

Chapter 4: Ponyville, Equestria

View Online

We walked through the town. My face turned from fascinated to confused as I saw all of the ponies seem to poof out of existence. Twilight laughed nervously as she saw this happen. "S-Sorry, this happens whenever something new comes to Ponyville."

She explained to me. I looked around once more. What was once a colorful cheery town is now nothing but a ghost town! The only way I knew that there were still ponies around was because they were peeking out their windows.

"Can we find a place to talk privately? I feel like I'm being watched..." I said, knowing fully well that I WAS infact being watched. Twilight nodded and before I knew it we were standing in front of the large crystal tree castle. "So, who's castle is this?"

"Oh!ThiscastlebelongstoTwilight!ThoughitCOULDbeallofoursbecausetherearebigthroneswithourcutiemarksonthem!ItwasmadewhenaweirdglowycrystalboxwentZOOMandflewawayintothegroundandthen---"

Thankfully, AppleJack blocked Pinkie's talking hole with a hoof. "Sorry 'bout her. She can get....out of hoof at times." She said with a smile. I didn't understand a word Pinkie said, but I'm sure I'll get the translation from Twilight later.

We stepped into the castle, which was a LOT bigger on the inside then it looked on the outside. Everything seemed to sparkle and shimmer because of it's crystal architecture. Rainbow Dash flew up next to me and lifted my jaw back into place. I didn't realize my jaw was dropped from it's beauty.

We walked to a large room, which had 6 thrones, circling around a table that seemed to have a map on it. I watched as the mares sat in the thrones that matched the marks on their flanks. I was unsure where to sit so I just stood between two of the thrones.

"So, can you tell me where I am exac---" I was once again, rudely cut off. This time by Pinkie's loud gasp. "OH MY GOSH! I need to make a surprise party for Mitchie! But nopony tell him! Bye!" And in an instant, she was gone. It was like she had no idea that I was right next to her.

I stayed quiet for a minute or two, to be sure that I wouldn't be cut off again. I was cut off like 5 times already, I wasn't gonna let it happen again. "...So where exactly am I?" I finally asked, and Twilight once again was more than happy to answer.

"Well, you're in Ponyville, Equestria. Equestria is the country we live in, right next to the Griffen country." Well, there are griffons, good to know. "Now, about your house..." She said, catching me about to zone out. "I was wondering if you could show me around. I'd love to learn about humans even more. Their history, biology, stories..."

I couldn't help but smile at her interest in humans. I nodded. "Uh, sure. I'll be happy to show you around. Besides, I'm getting hungry. Why don't you all come back to my place and we can watch a movie or something?" Pinkie suddenly appeared in my lap. Only god knows how. "A movie?! I have no idea what that is but it sounds fun!"

---

While walking back to the house after even more questioning about what a movie is and how it works, I wondered what happened to my family. Did the house just teleport without them or something? Was this house a copy? And did my electricity still work?

My question would be answered as I stepped inside, flicking the light switch. I smiled as the lights turned on. I had no clue how they still worked. Maybe...idk...magic?

I brought them into the kitchen, wondering what to give them. Fruit, sugar cookies, pretzels, cheez-its... "I'll take the sugar cookies!" I smiled and nodded, giving Pinkie the sugar cookies. I soon realized that she somehow read my mind.

"How'd you do that?" I asked her. Hearing the question, she just looked at me curiously. "How'd I do what?" She sounded so innocent while asking that question it hurt. I don't know why but it did. "How'd you---you read my--you know what? Nevermind." I said, ending that confusing conversation.

I led them to the living room, there wasn't much. A big couch and a recliner...a tv...a fireplace...that was basically it. I grabbed the remote and turned on the tv, and the mares stared at the glowing screen, sitting on the couch as they watched.

I looked for a movie to play, I didn't wanna play anything violent, it would give them a bad impression of the human race. I decided to play The Avengers. Sure, not the best choice. But it's about super heroes, saving the world, and it's one of the only movies I owned that wouldn't give them a bad impression of humans.

They happily watched the movie, especially Rainbow Dash. I could tell her favorite was Iron Man. Whenever he came on screen, she smiled a smile that I dared to say was adorable.

I looked over to Fluttershy, who had gotten into these books filled with pictures of my family. My mom made those every so often and she started making them back in 2010. Her eyes drifted to pictures of my dog, Bosco.

"Um...excuse me? Mr. Mitchell? Who's this?" She asked, pointing her hoof to the dog. I smiled and I sat down on the floor next to her. "Just call me Mitchell Fluttershy. That's my dog, Bosco." I said, giving her a warm smile.

She smiled back a bit. Ok, I'm breaking through to her. I could hear AppleJack and Rainbow Dash arguing. I looked up, noticing they were just arguing over who'd win, Thor or Iron Man. What brought that up was the fight scene. I totally forgot about this scene!

AppleJack didn't seem to really care about this argument, but Rainbow Dash was definitely not standing down, until the scene ended that is. "Aw, he's cute. W-Where is he? If you don't mind me asking.." Fluttershy said, looking up at me.

I wasn't sure how to answer. I didn't think he was dead, but I had no idea where him or the rest of my family was. "Well...I'm not sure. None of my family was here when I woke up..." I said quietly.

I must've looked pretty sad, because Fluttershy put a hoof on my leg and nuzzled her head against my arm. "Don't worry, I'm sure their ok." She said reassuringly. Fluttershy was so kind, I couldn't help but give her a wide smile. I was really tempted to hug her.

I may not know what happened to my family...but I wouldn't mind spending another day with these girls...

Chapter 5: The Train Ride Up

"That. Was. Awesome!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, having finished The Avengers movie. I smiled, seeing that the mares enjoyed the movie. "I must admit, the design for Captain America's suit was fabulous. Even if it got very dirty." Said Rarity, smiling.

AppleJack got off the couch, walking into the kitchen. "Mitchell, ya'll got any apples?" She asked. AppleJack likes to eat apples, who would've guessed. I nodded some, getting up off the couch and walking to the fridge. I opened the fridge and got out an apple, tossing it to her.

AppleJack caught it in her hoof and took a bite, enjoying the fruit. Fluttershy was hiding behind some pillows, scared of the aliens in that movie. "I-Is it over?" Stuttered the yellow pegasus. Rainbow Dash sighed and said. "Yes Fluttershy, they won."

Fluttershy peeked out of the pillows. It took sheer willpower to stop myself from 'awing' at the sight. I just realized that Twilight was missing. I looked around, wondering where she went. "Pegacorn? Where'd you go?" I asked, and heard Twilight from the basement. "Down here!"

I walked down the steps, looking at both rooms. I noticed her in the smaller room where my Xbox 1 was. "Twilight? What're you doing down here?" Twilight pointed to the Xbox one and all the wires. "What does this do?" I tilted my head a bit. "You wanna learn about a Xbo--"

A letter suddenly appeared out of thin air and floated in front of her. She levitated it and started reading it to herself. "Um...where'd that come from?" Twilight looked up and responded. "It's a letter from the princess. They get sent right to me."

"Princess? You never told me about a princess." Twilight's eyes widened slightly at this. "Oh, I totally forgot to teach you about Equestria and the monarch system! I have to--- I quickly placed a hand over her mouth prevent her from speaking.

"Ok, ok I get it." She said, her voice muffled from my hand. I took off my hand and Twilight began to speak again. "Celestia says that she wants to meet you in pony." She said, smiling.

Royalty? Wanted to meet me? No one's ever requested to meet me. I nodded a bit, but I must've looked nervous because Twilight spoke up after a minute or two. "Don't worry, she's very kind. She won't do anything to hurt you."

"Well...if you say so. When do I have to meet her?" I asked. And Twilight gave me an answer I wasn't prepared for. "5 hours! And since the train to Canterlot takes about 3 hours, we should leave around now." She said. Your hand glowed purple and using her magic, Twilight dragged you by the hand.

~~~
We finally made it onto the train. I showed the girls my iPhone and what it could do. I somehow still had wifi cause...magic I guess. So I let Rainbow Dash watch The Avengers, Age of Ultron while we rode the train.
Besides that not much happened. I got to see the many different colors of the mountains and the fields of grass. Honestly nothing on Earth even compared to the beauty around here. I could get used to this, though I was worried about my family.
"So Twilight, how many pegacorns are there?" Twilight frowned a bit, 'correcting' me. "Alicorns. There are four in total. Princess Celestia, who raises the sun. Princess Luna, who raises the moon. Princess Cadence, who watches over the Crystal Empire. And Me, the Princess of Friendship."
Hearing this, I was shocked. I was about to bow down but Twilight cut me off. "Y-You don't have to bow! I'm not exactly used to the whole Princess thing. Just treat me like your friend!" She said with a smile.
I nodded and got back up, but froze for a second. I looked at Twilight in a confused manner. "Y-You think of me as your friend?" I asked, not believing what she just said. "Well yeah! Why wouldn't I? You showed us some of your interesting things from where your from!"
Rarity continued the conversation, overhearing what we were talking about. "You invited us into your home despite just meeting us." And then, Rainbow Dash finished it. "And you showed us that super cool 'movie' thing!"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. These ponies were so unbelievably kind. They were amazing, honestly. "Thanks girls." Pinkie shoved a brownie in my mouth, smiling. I just shrugged and tried to chew and swallow down the brownie that was lodged in my mouth.
We finally arrived at Canterlot, upon stepping out, I was immediately surrounded by guards. They didn't look at me, or anything. They just surrounded me like a barrier. Twilight walked up behind me and whispered. "Sorry, it makes ponies around here feel safer." I nodded, whispering back. "Don't worry, if I were a pony and saw a big hairless monkey then I'd run scared too."
We walked through town, I could tell that several ponies were a bit...snobby. They looked at me like some kind of animal who deserved to be locked in a cage and perform for them. Honestly, almost every pony here had a punchable face. I only pray that whatever the princess looks like wasn't as punchable as these ponies.
We walked into the large castle doors, my jaw once again dropped, and Rainbow Dash once again had to lift my jaw for me. We walked through the halls, I looked around at the glass, smiling. The glass seemed to tell some kind of stories. Hell if I knew what they were about.
We finally made it to the throne room. I looked up at the being on the throne. She was tall, but she didn't look that much taller than me. The only way she'd be able to be taller than me would be because of her horn. She walked up to me, giving me a motherly smile and she held out her hoof. "Mitchell, correct? We have much to discuss."
