> The Pinkie that got stuck in the portal > by adorablesmiles > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Hey hey hey! Check this out!" I said. I was sitting by the newly repaired horse statue that was destroyed not too long ago, during the Friendship Games. But what happened there is a loooong and complicated story. I don't even think I have time to get into all that right now! Anywho, after I got my friend's attention, I slowly put my hand through the portal. I could see the faint reflection of a hoof in the mirrory part. "Pinkie Pie," my friend Rarity warned. "Surely you know better than to mess with portal magic!" I thought about it for a second. "I can't say I do! But I like seeing a hoof where my hand should be." I said as I giggled. The very thought of another me having hooves was kinda silly at first, but I was used to it by now. "Pinkie, I agree with Rarity on this. You don't know what's on the other side of that portal. I'm not even sure I do, it's been so long since I lived there." "Yeah, but you can go back at anytime! Twilight opened the portal and you can go back whenever you please!" I said. "That's true. But I'm much happier here, because I get to be with my friends." She said. "So that means that the only one who really knows what it looks like would be Twilight. She does live there after all." Sunset said. "When you say Twilight, do you mean the me that became a princess?" The Twilight from this world asked. "Yeah. I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that your not Princess Twilight. You two look a lot alike." Sunset apologized. "It's alright." "I have a hoof now!" I said. My hand was still in the portal, only now it was further in. "For the last time, Pinkie Pie! Get yourself out of that portal before something bad happens!" Rarity scolded. "Nothing bad's gonna happen silly!" I said. "Yes it will! The portal could close up and then your arm could get cut clean off!" Rarity said. "I know you don't want that." "Awww! You take the fun out of everything!" I moaned. "Is it such a crime to care about the well being of my friends? I think not." Rarity said. "Fine. But I'll probably end up doing it again later." I said. And then the lunch bell rang. We can hear it from outside because there's a bell inside, near the front door, and because the doors aren't soundproof at all, it's easy to hear that bell from outside. "Finally! I was gettin' hungry!" Applejack said, as she jumped down from the top of the portal. "You comin', Pinks?" I nodded, as an idea popped into my head. "Yeah, I'll be in there in a minute." And then they all headed inside. I know what I'm gonna do. I'm just gonna stick my pretty pink hand into the portal one more time before I go off to eat my lunch, so I can see my pretty pink hoof again. I can't go off without doing so! Besides, I doubt what Rarity said was true. I bet she only said that to scare me off. I slowly stuck my arm through the portal. And the hoof appeared again, just like I wanted. "Oooh! It's so pretty!" I giggled. I stayed there for what felt like several more minutes, and then I felt my stomach growl. But there was one problem with that. The feeling that I was getting from holding my arm through the portal had changed. Instead of tickling, it kinda hurt when I tried to pull my arm out. And the pretty hoof had disappeared. "Oh no! Please tell me this is an awful dream, and that when I wake up, I'll be safe in my bed with both arms in tact!" I said, as I started to slap myself with my free hand. "Oh, this isn't helping!" I said. This wasn't a dream, and I was still stuck. And hungry. I tried to get down on my knees, but that didn't help. All it did was make my arm hurt worse. "Ouch!" I moaned. "I'm starting to think that I should have listened to Rarity when she said I should have kept my arm away from the portal!" And now, I knew that I was going to get caught doing the exact thing that I was told NOT to do! "Pinkie Pie?" I heard someone ask from behind me. "I'm fine! DON'T TELL RARITY!" I shouted. "What do ya mean?" Applejack asked. "UM! Nothing! I'm not stuck at all!" I said. "Don't tell me. You put your arm through the portal and it closed, didn't it?" She asked. "Nope!" I lied. "Well then, if you're bein' honest, I suppose you wouldn't mind if I grabbed you by the waist and pulled?" She asked. "Uh. No thanks! I'm good!" I said. I was starting to sweat really hard. "Pinkie Pie, I wasn't really gonna pull you out of there. But I know you're lyin'." She said. "What?! How?!?!" I asked. "I'm the most honest person there is. And when someone lies to me, I know they're doin' it." She said. "Right." I said. "Now, you stay here. I'm gonna go get someone to help, alright?" She asked. "Okay, first, I have no choice. I can't go anywhere because my arm is stuck in the portal. Second, please tell me that you're not going to get Rarity! I don't need her telling me "I told you so" right now." I said. "Relax, I'm only going to get the nurse. That's the best I can do without makin' a fuss." She said. I nodded, then she headed back inside the school. After she went inside I was bored almost instantly. Turns out, having your arm stuck in a magical portal isn't exactly a fun time. And I knew that if I hadn't done this, I could be with my friends right now. Not to mention there was a few students staring at me as they passed by. They were probably heading into the lunch room, if I were to take a guess. And my standing here must've made me look creepy. It was the portal that lead to where Princess Twilight lives after all. It felt like my getting stared at was going to go on much longer than it did, but that was when Applejack came outside. But she didn't have the nurse with her. "What happened? Is the nurse coming? Please tell me she's coming! I need some good news right now!" I said. "Well, I would say that, but I can't because she was eating lunch. The lady wasn't even in her office. I tried real hard though." She said. "That's okay!" I said. "I can only wish that Rarity didn't have to see me this way. I know she's gonna hold it over my head. I just know it." I said. "She won't if I tell her it's wrong." She assured. "How do you know that?" I asked. "Well, I don't. But with any luck, she'll listen to reason." She said. "I'm hoping you're right, Applejack." I said. She then walked over and leaned back against the portal. "I suppose I could stay here while I wait for lunch to end. That would be much better then waiting outside the nurse's office." She said. "Good point." I said. And then there was silence. "Can I ask why this is so awkward?" I asked. "I'm not sure. Maybe it's because you got your arm stuck in a portal and who knows what it might be doing on the other side. Can you feel anything?" She asked. "Hmmm. Nope. Just air." I said. "That's a shame. If you did feel anything, that would have been funny, wouldn't it?" She asked. I nodded. "I guess I could try." Her eyes lit up at that. "Do it! Try to wiggle your arm around!" And I did so. It didn't work very well at first, but eventually I got it. "Do ya feel anythin'?" She asked. "Not yet, but I'm gonna keep trying. Surely I'll get in good reach of something. OH!" I said, as I almost jumped back. I admit that I would have done it more if my arm wasn't stuck in the portal. "What?! What happened?" She asked. "I felt a... Hoof?" I said. I didn't know if that was a question or an answer. "You mean there's actually a pony on the other side of that there portal?" She asked. "I think so." I said. "Well, don't be rude!" She said. "What in the world is that supposed to mean?" I asked. "I mean you should feel for the hoof again! Maybe whoever was there before is still there." She suggested. "Okay!" I said, as I started to wiggle my hand... or hoof. Whatever it was, it felt natural by now. "What's goin' on?" Applejack asked. "I sure can't feel anythin' from here." "Nothing too exciting yet." I said. "Well, keep tryin'!" She encouraged. "I am, Applejack. If I wasn't then I wouldn't be really close to the portal like I am." I said. "Right, sorry." She said. And then I kept reaching out as far as I could go. When I was about to give up and stop reaching for something, that was when I felt the hoof touch me again. "Applejack! It's happening again!" I screamed. "Then don't do anything! Just hold still!" She said. "That's what I'm doing!" I said. "Should I make sure my hand isn't moving?" "Yes. If you move again then you'll startle whoever it is that's touching you." Applejack warned. "Alright, I'm not moving." I said. "Good." She said. And then it happened. The bell that signaled the end of lunch rang. "Applejack! What do we do? Rarity is going to see me stuck in the portal, and then she'll-" "What did I JUST say?" Applejack asked. "There's no reason for you to worry about this. I'm gonna tell Rarity that this was a happy accident. I'm sure she'll believe me." "But it's not a happy accident. I didn't listen to her. So that means that I'm the one who should be blamed for this." I said. "What are you two doing out here?" I heard someone ask. I turned around as quick as I could. But it was delayed a bit, understandably. "Uh... what makes you say that, Sunset?" Applejack asked. "I came outside to get some fresh air. You two do know that you missed lunch right?" She asked. "Well there's a good reason for that." I said. Sunset put a hand up before I could say anymore. "I have a feeling that I already know what happened without you telling me. Did you put your hand back in the portal after Rarity told you not to?" She asked. I nodded. "And did the portal close as you had it in there?" She asked. I nodded again. As hard as it was admitting that I messed up, I didn't want to lie to her. Sunset sighed. "Alright. Well, you can't stay there forever, so I'm going to go and-" "Go and what?! You aren't going to get Rarity, are you?!" I interrupted. "No. I was going to say that I was going to go back inside and get my book that I use to communicate with Twilight, and after I do that, I'll write to her and ask her to open the portal, then you'll be free." Sunset said. "Oh! Thank goodness!" I said. "Now, don't get all riled up. It might take a while for her to respond. She is a princess after all." She warned. "But... what are we going to do about Rarity? She could come outside at any minute and then she'll know what happened." Applejack said. "I wouldn't worry about Rarity. She's too busy "freshening up" so that'll probably keep her occupied for a while." Sunset said. Then she was gone almost as fast as she had arrived. "That didn't help very much." I said. "Well, at least you know that you're getting out now." Applejack said. "Yeah." I said. "Is the pony still there?" She asked. "Nope. He or she must've went off somewhere." I said. "It's probably a good thing too. It must look strange to see a... whatever coming out of the other side of this thing." "Uh... Pinkie Pie?" Applejack asked. "I mean really! Can you picture it? Some pink blob coming out of a portal with ponies ALL around!" I said. "Pinkie Pie? You're arm is-" "And that pink blob was me! It was my arm! Can you imagine-" "PINKIE PIE! YOUR ARM IS GLOWING!" Applejack shouted. "What?! That is the craziest thing I have ever heard! And I am pretty crazy all on my own!" I said. "Pinkie... just look at your arm. Please." Applejack said. She sounded upset this time. "Okay." I said. When I looked down at the arm that was stuck in the portal, there was a lot of white sparkles on it. "Does it hurt?" Applejack asked. "Nope. Why would it hurt?" I asked. "I don't know. But can you feel anything at all?" She asked. "No. My arm feels the same as it always has." I said. "That doesn't sound quite right." She said. "Applejack! I got it!" I heard Sunset shout as she ran down the stairs and towards us. "Well it took you long enough! Look at her arm!" Applejack said. And she did. Her face lost all the color it had immediately after. "We need to hurry. I can't say why, but if we don't then something really bad is gonna happen." Sunset said. She sounded panicked. "What's the really bad thing?" I asked. "Believe me Pinkie Pie. You don't want to know." She said, as she sat down on the ground and put the book on her lap. "I can see the pages!" I said. I felt an elbow poke me in the side. "Pinkie Pie! Don't be rude!" Applejack scolded. "Whaaaaaaaaaaat? It's not my fault I got my arm stuck in the portal!" I shouted. "Got your arm stuck where?" A very accusing voice said. My head turned in the direction the voice came from. It was the last person I wanted to see. Rarity. "I can explain!" I said. "I'd love to hear it. And after I get an explanation, you'll receive an "I told you so." Not to be mean, but mainly because you've learned you're lesson." "Rarity, don't. It was an accident." Applejack said. "How so?" Rarity asked. Applejack shrugged. "I'm not very sure about that. But it wouldn't be fair if you judged her because of one little mistake." Rarity nodded. "I do see your point, but she did mess up." "Does it matter?" Applejack asked. "This had nothin' to do with you, personally." "I know that." Rarity said. "Then if I were you, I would take it easy on Pinkie. It's not her fault." Applejack assured. "Fine, fine." Rarity finally gave in. "Now can I get Twilight to open the portal again?" Sunset asked. "Yeah. Sorry." Applejack said. And that's when it got silent. For a long time actually. "I'm bored!" I said. "Pinkie, I'm in the middle of writing the letter now. Can you please wait a few minutes?" Sunset asked. "Okay, I'll shush. I said. "I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm going as fast as I possibly can with this. And I can only write so fast without it being messy and unreadable." She said. I decided to leave her alone at this point, because she sounded really stressed. "Annnd... I'm done!" Sunset finally said. "Done with the letter?" I asked. "Yes, it really doesn't take long for me to ask Twilight to open the portal again so one of my nearest and dearest friends can be set free." She said. "I appreciate that. And I hope she responds soon, because- OW!" I shouted. There was a weird shot of pain that went through my arm. "Are you alright?" Applejack asked. "Yeah! I'm fine! It just feels like there's rocks slamming down on my arm!" I screeched. "Come on, Twilight. Come on, we need you." Sunset pleaded. "You said you know what's happenin' to her Sunset! Can you please tell us?" Applejack asked. "I don't think you want to know." Sunset said. "Just tell us, darling. It can't be that bad." Rarity insisted. "Alright, fine." She said. "Pinkie is slowly... turning into a statue." "WHAT?!" I shouted. "I didn't want to tell you because I knew that you'd freak out. Like you already have. I really thought Twilight would have responded by now." Sunset said. "I get what you were trying to do. And you're heart was in the right place." Applejack said. "Wait a minute! Does this mean I'm going to be a statue forever?!" I asked. "Well, I wouldn't say that. But I'm working really hard to get you out of there. It just needs time." Sunset said. "I know. There's no hurry with this." I said, and then the pain started again. "Pinkie Pie! Do you... want to cuddle with Angel bunny?" Fluttershy asked. "Ow... sure." I said. "Alright." Fluttershy said, as she gently put Angel in my free, not sore, arm. And then she started to pony up. "Oh, I'm sorry Pinkie. I can't help it. I'm kind by instinct." She said. "It's alright. I wasn't thinking bad about that anyway." I said. "Did Twilight respond yet?" Rainbow Dash asked. Sunset flipped through the pages of her book. "Nope." She said. "Oh... Twilight." I said, as the pain almost became unbearable. "Why isn't the other me responding?" Human Twilight asked. "She's a princess, darling. She's probably busy." Rarity said. "I can't take it anymore!" I said. "I need outta this portal!" I said. "Yes you can. It shouldn't be that much longer till Twi opens the portal." Applejack assured. "You... You don't know that!" I said. Buzz! I heard. "Okay, whoever's phone is ringing, it isn't funny." I said. The others looked around. "Girls, that wasn't a phone. It's my book! Twilight responded!" Sunset said. "Finally!" I shouted. She then sat down by my feet so all of us could read the letter. It read like this: Dear Sunset Shimmer, I apologize for the delay in not responding, but I have been really busy after all. But this time something really weird happened. I was spending time with my friends, and then this weird pink hoof came out of the portal. It almost looked like Pinkie Pie's, but I knew that couldn't have been right because she was here during the whole thing. And then I read your letter, and you told me that it WAS Pinkie Pie. The human one, I mean. Anyway, the hoof is still there. And the only reason why the portal's closed now is because we were all pretty scared of what the pink hoof actually was. But don't worry. I'll open it again as soon as possible. As for the tur- "Well that's good to know!" Sunset said, as she covered up the words with her hand and closed the book. "What are you hiding, Sunset?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Nothing. Why would I be hiding anything from my friends?" She asked. "Sunset, I'm gonna tell you what I told Pinkie. I know when you're lyin'." Applejack said. Sunset sighed. "It was nothing important. She was just responding to the part of my letter where I told her about Pinkie turning into a statue. But what she said isn't anything we don't already know." "Well, if you're absolutely sure." Rarity said. "I am." Sunset said. "Girls... can we maybe get this over with?" I asked. "I can't feel my arm anymore. "Don't worry, Pinkie." Fluttershy said. "I'm sure she'll-" "WHOA!" I shouted, as I fell face first on the ground. "Pinkie Pie! Are you okay???" I heard someone shout. "Yeah! I'm fine!" I said. Then I heard a familiar whooshing sound. "I am so sorry this happened! I swear I wasn't thinking! To start off, Fluttershy got scared and then Rainbow dared Applejack to touch the hoof, and then when it started moving I... What happened here?" Pony Twilight asked. "It's a looong story. Now that you're here I can tell you all that happened on our side in full detail, not just on a piece of paper." Sunset said. "Girls, before we do anything, can I go to the nurse's office? My arm has these weird scratches on it." I said. And then they all started laughing. "Whaaaat? The scratches hurt!" I said. "Okay, Pinkie. Let's go get you patched up, then we'll go for smoothies once school lets out." Sunset said. "Hey, why don't we go right now?" Rainbow suggested. "We can't skip out on school!" Rarity said. "Ughh!!! Fine." Rainbow moaned. And then we all headed inside. > Chapter 2 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Okay so I noticed this story has 500 views and a whole bunch of likes! I didn't think it would get this far! Anyway, I plan on making a PROPER sequel for this, and here's a little peak at it: "Hey!!!!!" I shouted to the pink haired girl running down the sidewalk. "I'M COMING!" She shouted back. "What took you so long?!" I asked. "Baking emergency! By the way, here's some popcorn!" Pinkie said. I stared at her. "What's this for?" "It's for anyone who wants it!" Pinkie said. "Look! There's Zesty!" "And where were you?!" I asked. "I was... listening to my jams." Lemon said. And then I facepalmed.
