> Equestria Dimensions > by T1MBUK0N3 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > 1 - The Journey Begins > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- There it was, in the oldest corner of the multiverse, a dead universe. Its stars have long since gone cold, but in the most ancient corner of this most ancient universe there still shines a single light: the planet known as Mana-Prime. It was a living sea of magical energies clashing as waves of purple water and magic made physical. Above this endless sea was a large dark blue metal spaceship. It was a mountainous craft shaped like a pyramid and adorned with light blue glowing mystic runes from various corners of the cosmos on its hull.   Inside the command room of this fantastic ship were various machines from even more varied parts of reality. They kept the ship running at peak efficacy as its new master was working on her special project. At the viewing platform which was connected to the robot probes searching the planet was a human woman watching with anticipation. This woman wore strange armor with dark brown and blue colors, mechanical parts and gears pumping mana into her body from fluid tanks. Her face was old and wrinkled with her dark silver hair pulled back as her crimson red eyes gazed at the information screen in the viewing platform. She called herself Thauma, a powerful mage who waited a long time for this day as after years of her robot probes scanning this gigantic planet something happened. ‘Anomaly Detected…’ her spaceship’s Artificial intelligence sounded to Thauma. “Where?” Thauma spoke with an aged voice of wisdom mixed with bitterness. The information screen zoomed on an area of the planet. Thauma looked on this as she smiled joyfully. “Prepare the tractorbeam and my personal shuttle...I want it on the surface by the time the anomaly surfaces.” With that Thauma descended to the anomaly that was now on the planet’s surface. Thauma’s shuttle stopped next to the anomaly, which was a large metallic platform the size of a football field, covered in ancient ruins from the beginning of this universe. “Finally after all these years...I found it!” Thauma took out a small mini robot that she used to record her thoughts on field work. “Record Log - I, Thauma, have found my prize, The Energy Fusion Platform! To recap my earlier Record Logs, this platform is the last physical technology of the unknown race of aliens that traversed the multiverse long ago that I have dubbed ‘Eons’. The Eons have travelled the multiverse in the search of a way to evolve to another stage of life, which if the older records say are correct is that they succeeded… But this is not their end as I have theorized that they used this planet as a homeworld and transcended into something past the physical phase….but I will go into the plan I have for this platform later...end record log.” Thauma had her nearby robot probes scan the platform and translate the runes on it to her personal mind linked computer. Thauma looked at the mini screen in her vision and spoke out loud. “To those who wish to follow our path… let it be know that the device cannot be used until the Foundation Elements of our society are found and placed here. Once this is done, what we were will be wielded and the path of transcendents will begin anew.” Thauma boarded her shuttle and returned to her base ship, thinking on the riddle by the Eons. Within the base ship, Thauma spent her time looking over multiverse records on these ‘Foundation Elements’ in the Eon’s riddle. After several hours of extensive research, Thauma had eventually stumbled on a possible lead to the riddle.         “So...The Foundation Elements are relics that represent the universe in which they reside,” The A.I. computed the data and after a few minutes gave Thauma the results. ‘Data suggest that Foundation Elements are within a special timeline of a universe. Platform has markers that can be used to find the Elements.’  “Good...Now A.I. prepare a multiverse search for the universe of the nearest Element.” Thauma began to prepare for the hunt for her prize. .        .        .        . It was a peaceful afternoon in Ponyville, The idle chatter of the town’s ponies and the clacking of hooves on the cobbled stones of the little town's streets were the only sounds that permeated the air.  All around where little houses with thatched roofs, brick and stucco walls, and happy ponies in the doorways. Vendors called to ponies from behind their stalls and in front of their carts. The smell of baked goods and fresh produce wafted from every corner. Within the town was Twilight’s Castle, where the Princess of Friendship found herself rather bored today. She had read almost every book in her large library and the Map of Equestria had not needed her to solve a problem in the land. However, she was looking forward to the special event that was to take place right outside her home later today. Twilight had agreed to hold a charity book signing for the local school to update on some renovations. Twilight was sure nothing would ruin this nice day, even though she did wish for something a bit more exciting. Twilight was getting ready for the book signing as she gathered her quills and ink into her saddlebag. She walked down to the entrance hall of the castle when she heard the sound of hooves running to the door. The castle door swung open to reveal a concerned Applejack. “Applejack what the matter?” “Twi, you better come outside and see this.” Interest piqued, Twilight followed Applejack outside and only to be met with nothing. “I don’t see anything…” Twilight stopped in mid sentence as she looked up into the air. The sky above Ponyville was black as the night as bolts of magical energy were shooting from an area near the Everfree forest. Animals were running for their lives from the forest and thunder echoed across the air. After a few minutes Twilight and the rest of her friends gathered to talk about what was going on. “Twilight, what could be going on in the Everfree forest this time?” Rarity asked. “I don’t know but I can feel the magic radiating off it. It’s immense… but did anypony see where the black sky came from?” “No idea,” said Rainbow Dash. “I was flying with some other pegasi when it just appeared out of thin air.”   Twilight had ordered a town wide evacuation. With the townsfolk hunkering for cover, the six friends made a beeline for the Everfree forest. “Twi, you got any idea what this could be?” asked Applejack as they galloped through the increasingly dense foliage. Pinkie had chimed in claiming that aliens had obvious come to Equestria. She had also added that she genuinely hoped that they liked pies and cake. It would definitely make for great party materials. Plus it would make Pinkie’s job all the easier.   “I don’t know about liking pies,” Twilight frowned, “but something is off…” Her friends eyed her oddly as she continued to explain. “The air and magic surrounding the forest feels different.. almost wrong for lack of a better word. It’s almost like something shouldn’t be here.” The six ponies continued their trek into the forest as fast as they could until they reached a field near Zecora’s hut. There were scorch marks from something powerful in the center of the grassy field and strange large foot prints leading to the northern location. The six friends’ gallop slowed to a more casual trot as they came to a nondescript area only to hear something odd coming from near a clearing. Without wasting a moment, the mates quickly took cover behind some nearby bushes. To their surprise, it was a large tree sized metallic bipedal. The more they looked, the more there was to see. His metal body of yellow and brown colors with an arm in the shape of a drill. Along with this metal creature was a smaller floating silver smooth ball with a green eye in the center. The ponies could hear the two talking to each other. “So you need me to dig here, right? You know even though I have a drill arm doesn't mean you can label me as the only robot that can dig stuff up,” the man told the eye wryly. ‘Proclamation...Your feelings do not concern me or the master...continue digging Drill-On.’ the small robot proclaimed. “Fine...but this better not be another boring mission,” the metal man known as Drill-On told the probe who continued to monitor the situation. Drill-On began to dig into the earth with great force as the ponies watched in confusion. .        .        .        . Meanwhile in another universe… It was a time of dusk upon Beach City, all the shops and business were closing their doors for the day as the citizens traveled to their warm homes. Down the street and on the beach was the home of Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems, heroes and defender of Earth. Within the house was the Gem boy Steven, who eagerly awaited his friends: Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst to return from a mission. With a flash of light the other crystal gems appeared in front of Steven. However their greeting would be interrupted by a loud boom in the sky. The Crystal Gems all ran outside to see an object falling to the beach and hitting it with great force. The Gems rushed to the impacted site to find a large metal robot climb out of the crater it caused. “Guys...what is that?!” Steven asked his fellow gems. “Everyone get back!” Garnet screamed and grabbed Steven as she, Pearl, and Amethyst jumped backed as the robot moved to them. The robot’s metal body had yellow and red colors with an arm in the shape of a wrecking-ball. Along with this metal creature was a smaller floating silver smooth ball with a green eye in the center. ‘Detection...Foundation Element is located within the town and is moving to this position.         Just then Steven’s friend Connie appeared with Rose’s Sword in hand.         ‘Proclamation...the sword is the Foundation Elements… capture it.         “Easy…” Wrecker-On charged at Connie with the Gems and Steven standing in between. Garnet used her Gauntlets to stop the robot in its tracks. Pearl and Amethyst summoned their weapons and lashed at the robot. However Wrecker-On was no lightweight as he batted away the two gems and kicked Garnet into the air away from him. Steven and Connie were behind a rock watching this battle and cheering on the Gems.           “Whatever you are we won’t let you get that Sword!” Pearl examined. “I doubt you Little Rocks can stop me.” Wrecker-On said as he unlocked his wrecking ball and shoot it from his arm with a large metal cord attached to it. The wrecking ball knocked Pearl and Amethyst away to there surprise as Garnet dodged the ball and smacked the robot. Changing tactics, Wrecker-On slammed his ball onto the ground, creating a large quake to stagger Garnet. Wrecker-On then took this chance to snatch the Rose Sword in his robot arm. Unfortunately for him, Connie wasn’t about to give up the weapon without a fight. Steven had also entered the fray as the two grappled with Wrecker-On to stop him from stealing the weapon. Unfortunately, for the pair, the robot had managed to overwhelm them both before stealing the weapon.  The small sliver robot shot a green beam from its eye, creating a rift portal for it and Wrecker-On as the two jumped into it. Garnet got back on her feet and followed the two machines as the portal closed behind her. .        .        .        . Within the Everfree forest the robot, Drill-On was digging into the ground, looking for the Foundation Element. The six ponies looked on in confusion as they had no idea what was going on, until Twilight had an epiphany. “Wait a minute this is the spot where Zecora buried the Alicorn Amulet!” “That’s not good.” Rainbow muttered to the rest of the group. “We can’t let that thing take it!” Twilight yelled as she teleported onto the field as her friends followed.   Drill-On reached into the hole and pulled out the Alicorn Amulet as six ponies appeared next to him. “What? Ponies?!” He stared at them for several seconds before his accomplice spoke. ‘Proclamation… deal with them while I prepare the Rift Portal.’ “Fine… should be straightforward., Drill-On said as he turned to the ponies and charged at them. Drill-On was surprised as Twilight blasted him with a burst of magical energy. The six friends swarmed around Drill-On who could not hit them as they darted and weaved through his attacks. Drill-On grabbed Twilight’s tail as the silver robot created the Rift Portal and jumped in with Twilight in his hand. .        .        .        . In a grassy fields outside of the borders of the Mushroom Kingdom… It was a beautiful day in the Mushroom Kingdom. The usual contents of a good day were to be seen at the home of the world famous Mario Brothers. The sun was high in the sky, shining down upon the house. Hardly a cloud was out of place. The green warp pipe that connected the house to Toad Town was nice and clean, and the local mail paratroopa was flying down, carrying his trusty mailbag. Luigi opened the door to see the mail being placed in the box and the paratroopa flying away to other deliveries. Luigi got the mail and walked inside to see his brother Mario making the morning coffee. “So Luigi what's in the mail today?” Mario asked his brother. “Not much, just some junk mail,” the younger brother replied, tossing the aforementioned mail into the rubbish bin. “Good, for once we can relax without being called to adventure every day,” Mario smiled as he leaned back in his chair. “You’re right there brother.” Luigi agreed as he and Mario both sat down to drink their coffee in peace. Suddenly the ground quaked violently, knocking the brothers onto the wooden floor. Both of them jumped to their feet and raced outside to see a large robot outside their home with a small silver robot hovering above. ‘Detection... The red meat-bag has the Foundation Element on it’s head...capture it Claw-On.’ “A hat?! Whatever…” Claw-On rolled his eyes before launching his claw arm at Mario, catching him and pulling him back. The silver robot created a Rift Portal. The robot took Mario into the Rift with them leaving Luigi very confused. > 2 - Escape From Mana-Prime > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight awoke with a pounding headache as she slowly got off the metallic ground. To her surprise, she found herself in a strange metal magical prison cell with two bipeds resembling minotaurs sans horns standing on either side. One was very tall and muscular, wearing red and black colors with a pair of shades on her head. The other creature was shorter than the other but taller than Twilight. It wore red and blue clothing, overalls and had a big mustache with scruffy brown hair. “Where am I?” Twilight asked her cellmates who noticed the now awake alicorn. “I’m not sure...by the way, I’m Mario,” said the short man in red. “You can call me Garnet,” said the tall woman with a nod. “I'm Twilight Sparkle,” the mare replied in kind. She looked at her cellmates and couldn’t help but wonder if they in for the same reason as her. With nothing to lose, Twilight decided to recount her story to her cell mates. Maybe if they could work together, they could figure out some sort of pattern. “The last thing I remember was this giant robot taking an item of great importance,” Twilight finished her account of her story while Mario and Garnet listened in genuine interest. “The same thing happend to me and Mario,” Garnet nodded. “The robot stole my sword and Mario’s cap.” She turned to Twilight. “What did it steal from you?” “An artifact that boosts magical power,” Twilight replied, “and that would make sense for why anybody would want to steal it but I don’t understand what they hope to gain by stealing your sword and cap?” Twilight looked around the prison cell and the cell’s door noticing that there were runes in the walls powered by a foreign magic. It felt so alien yet she could sense the familiar aura of magic in the door. “I’m not sure what this door is made of but I’ve tried knocking it down but we’ve had no real luck with it.” Mario told her, noticing her sudden interest in the door. “Likewise,” Garnet nodded. “I can feel the magic in the door but maybe you should give it a shot Twilight,” she offered. Twilight pondered the situation for a minute as she stared at the cell door. Her first instinct was to try teleporting. Mario and Garnet in fascination as Twilight’s horn began to glow and to the collective surprise of everyone, the alicorn had vanished from the prison cell to the other side of the door. Twilight looked at the door, spotting a rune panel on the side. She then shot a small burst of magic at the rune panel causing the door to open and allowing her cell mates their means of escape. “How did you do that?” Mario asked, amazed as he and Garnet joined her. “Just a simple teleportation spell,” Twilight shrugged. “Either way we’re free, so let me try something now,” Garnet stood there quiet for a few moments while Mario and Twilight exchanged a bewildered look. “Okay,” Garnet said after several moments of silence. “My Future Vision sees a way out of here. Follow me.” Twilight and Mario decided not to ask how she could tell such a thing and ran alongside her through the runed hallways. The trio spotted a window and looked out of it to see Mana-Prime, a living sea of magical energies clashing as waves of purple water and magic made physical. They stopped looking as the ship’s alarms sounded off and letting off warnings for escaped prisoners. The three exchanged panicked looks as they continued their trek. .        .        .        . Thauma looked upon the three Foundation Elements, each of which was floating in a containment tube. The elder mage smiled as the thought of unlimited power excited her. She walked away from the elements and sealed the door just to be careful. Thauma did see one flaw in her otherwise perfect plan: the three uninvited guest she had thrown in the prison level. They were an unknown variable and she didn’t know what might happen. She didn’t like surprises. ‘Warning...prisoners have escaped and are heading to Rift Portal room.’  The A.I. sounded out loud. “What?! Get me cameras on their location!” She roared. Within seconds Thauma could see the three creatures running through her ship's hallways. “Get the three on-bots to head them off in the opening section of the ship. Make sure those pests don’t escape this vessel alive!” .        .        .        .         With Garnet, Twilight, and Mario ran as fast as they could. Eventually, they managed to reach to an opening, like a large dome in this strange place. Suddenly the opposite doorway opened to reveal the three robots that brought them to the ship walking toward them and in front of the robots was a hologram of Thauma.         The three assumed a defensive stance as they cast a wary glance at the hologram. Twilight had to supress her desire to ask her numerous questions about the hologram. “I don’t know how you escaped but you won’t leave here alive pests,” she told them furiously. “I am Thauma and this is my ship!” The hologram faded out of existence as the robots readied themselves for battle. Garnet summoned her gauntlets as Mario and Twilight read themselves for a fight.         Wrecker-On, Drill-On, and Claw-On jumped into the air as parts of them flew off and fused together and after a minute they landed on the ground as a new and larger three armed robot.         “Prepare to face Big Rig-On!” screamed the large robot. The three exchanged a look, wondering if they were biting off more than they could chew.         The robot charged as Garnet ran at the robot at full speed. Mario dashed to the right and hurled a flurry fireballs at the robot's side. Twilight darted to the left and blasted away at the machine’s other side with her magic. Garnet and the robot stopped as they collided. The woman took advantage of the brief lull to get a preemptive strike and with a single punch smashed a big dent into the robot's chest. Big Ring-On used his wrecking ball arm to throw Garnet across the room into the wall, then used its drill arm and claw arm to toss Mario and Twilight at the same spot.         “This isn’t working!” Garnet groaned as they extracted themselves out of the wall.         “We need a plan!” Twilight said.         Mario took this chance to think as he huddled with Twilight and Garnet. All the while, Big Ring-On was slowly stalking up to them, eager to get a preemptive strike to match Garnet’s. Unfortunately, the three had noticed and had leapt out of the way as Big Rig-On charged again. Garnet darted back to it and had proceeded to hammer away at its metallic skin with her gauntlet-armored hands.         While Garnet had Big Ring-On distracted, Mario had built up a larger orb of fire from his hands and continued to charge it up. At Twilight’s signal, Mario called out to Garnet who flipped backwards allowing Mario to blast a powerful fireball at the weakened spot. The fireball melted the robot’s chest exposing its weak hardware. Moving to the next stage of their improvised strategy, Twilight moved in and fired a powerful blast of magic at the exposed spot, causing the robot to explode.         With the robot little more than shrapnel, the trio quickly fled the scene. Thauma, seeing the entire battle, pounded the screen in rage as she commanded her smaller robots to intercept them before they could escape.         With the three escaped prisoners, the trio had reached the room that would allow for their escape if what Garnet said was true. “Ok Garnet, now what do we do?” Mario asked. “I’m not sure,” Garnet frowned. “The way out is here but the magic of the structure is interfering with my Future Vision.” Intrigued, Twilight looked around the room: a large magic powered energy generator was pointing to an empty space and a few tables with several foreign objects lay strewn about. The violet pony soon spotted a strange necklace on a nearby table. Curious, she approached with a hoof outstretch to get a better look at the necklace. However, as soon as she touched it with her hoof, it jumped off the table and latched itself around her neck. In an instant, unbeknownst to Twilight, the necklace had downloaded some pertinent information into Twilight’s brain. “This necklace is a portable Rift Portal generator! We can use it to escape!” Twilight exclaimed as she focused her magic into the necklace and created a Rift Portal which the trio dove into to escape the ship. .        .        .        .         Within the control room of the ship, Thauma replayed the fight those three pests put up against her robots. She was surprised at their power and skill as she had expected them to immediately fall against her power machines. Thauma smiled as a plan formed in her mind, one that would need be played with patience.         “A.I. I want you to upload the uncaptured Foundation Elements locations to that Rift Generator around that ponies neck.”         ‘Affirmative...sending data to necklace.’         “Good, now we play the waiting game.” .        .        .        .         In a flash of blue light, the trio fell onto the desert floor. Twilight, Garnet, and Mario made it off Thauma’s ship but were now in an unknown realm. Twilight could feel the heat of the barren desert along with the large yellow sun upon her body. Mario was sweating in his clothing like a pig in a blanket with Garnet not faring much better.         “I see a cave over there.” Garnet pointed at the close by cave as she and the others quickly made their way into the welcoming respite.         Once Twilight and Mario entered the cave, the intrinsic chill of the rocks help beat back the heat. Garnet leaned against a stone wall of the cave as Mario stretched his arms and Twilight stretched her elegant wings. All the while, Twilight thought about this Rift Generator on her neck. It was strange how such as small device could hold so much knowledge and be so powerful to open doorways into other realms.         She would definitely be doing some extensive research on this once she managed to get back to her home back in Equestria.         Noticing Twilight studying the necklace around her neck, Mario moves over to her side.         “Hey Twilight, do you think you get to use that thing to get us all home?” He asked hopefully.         “I’m not sure Mario,” Twilight frowned, staring at the object. “It did show me the information on how to use it but I'd need some way of knowing where we would need to go or we’ll just end up hopelessly lost.”         Mario looked down at his shoes and appeared to be in a state of contemplation as Twilight looked to Garnet who seems unconcerned of this situation. Garnet looked back at Twilight before putting her hand on her head for a minute.         “We can’t go home. Not yet anyway.” Garnet broke the silence. Twilight and Mario exchanged alarmed looks.         “Why not?” Twilight asked incredulously.         “Before I explain I need tell you something…” Twilight and Mario traded bewildered looks but decided to humor her. "My ability of Future Vision is limited but it allows me to see possible futures for myself although the fates shown is never set in stone. On rare occasions, it also allows me to see farther than I'd ever believe possible... so I need show you this vision.” Garnet walked over to Mario and kissed him on the forehead. He stood there as a vision entered his mind while Garnet then did the same to Twilight and she was shown the aforementioned vision.         In the vision, Twilight could see Equestria while Mario observed the Mushroom Kingdom. Both were barren wastelands with all the magic and life of the realms was gone leaving an empty husk of a world. The vision ended and the two were horrified at what they saw.         “Garnet, is there a way to stop this from happening?” Twilight asked frantically. That was a future she did NOT want to see come to pass.         “I don’t know… this is a possible future but we must stop this destruction for our friends and loved ones.” Both Mario and Twilight readily agreed with Garnet. Suddenly, the necklace lit up, taking all three of them by surprise. Once they managed to get over to the shock factor, they noticed that the necklace was now showing a hologram of what looked like a map leading to an item. Twilight manipulated the hologram, showing that the item is a Foundation Element just like the sword, hat, and amulet. “This necklace must have had the data on it, if I’m guessing right that women… Thauma wants these Foundation Elements,” Twilight surmised. Twilight then explained to Garnet and Mario that they needed to stop Thauma before their worlds are doomed and asked for their help to which Mario and Garnet agree. Then Twilight opened a Rift Portal to the item and the trio jump in. > 3 - To The Island of Green Hills > --------------------------------------------------------------------------  Twilight, Garnet, and Mario arrive from the Rift Portal to a lushes green hill landscape. the smell of fresh air filled the open blue skies. Twilight activated the necklace to show a map of the realm, a blinking dot on the map showed where the realm’s Foundation Element was, it turns out this is a very large island with many features such as rocky deserts, forest jungles, and a large village. So the trio began to walk westward in hopes of finding the Element. Meanwhile… It was another cool island breeze kind of day for the village, the citizens were anthropic animals who lives peacefully with each other. There lives were pretty simple with the occasional ruckus made by the islands villain, Dr. Eggman and his metal minions. But for every villain there is a hero to stop them, Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic and his friends, Amy, Knuckles, Tails, and Styx were running on ancient roadways chasing Dr. Eggman who had recently attacked the gang for his own enjoyment. Eggman fires his missiles from fling vehicle only to miss the gang completely. “Come back here egghead!” Sonic yelled at the flying doctor. “Time to call in the cavalry.” Eggman hits a button on his wrist computer summoning Metal Sonic to his side. “Well, what are you waiting for?! after them!” Eggman ordered his metal minion. Metal Sonic quickly attacked the gang with an energy blast from its hands, only for each of them to dodge the blasts with ease. “You need to work on Metal’s targeting systems Eggman.” Tails said. Eggman ignored that comment and took this change to escape as he hit his turbo speed. Metal Sonic continued to blast the gang until part of the ancient roadway fell apart, causing the gang to fall into the deep part of the forest. Metal Sonic believed that they parrish and returned to Eggman’s base. .        .        .        . Twilight, Mario, and Garnet managed to reach the bottom level of a great forest jungle as they followed the map to the Foundation Element, Eventually they arrived at a ruin temple. “Ok the map says that the Foundation Element is in this temple.” Twilight said as she gazed that the ruins. “Ok, so how do we get in?” Garnet said. “I think we should look around for something, if this is like the temples back home there will be a hidden button or something.” Mario said as the trio split up and began their search. However the sound of screaming from above stop the search as the trio backed up just incase it was a enemy. After a mintie the screaming stopped as a group of anthropic animals fell into a large bush and bounced out. “Oh man, lucky thing that bush was there.” Styx said. “All that screaming made me hungry.” Knuckles said as he rubbed his stomach. The gang got up and stretched their arms and legs as they saw the strange trio. “Ah, hi there…” Amy started off. “I wonder who these folks are?” Garnet said. “They must be the denizens of this Dimension…” “Well, I'm Sonic, and these are my friends, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, and Styx.” “Hello, I’m Mario and this is Twilight Sparkle and Garnet.” so the trio and the gang met and greeted.   The group look at the old temple and twilight asks them if they know this temple, they don’t and they all take a closer look. Twilight shows them a realm map and that they need to get an item to help stop a villain and so they gang agree to help. “I hope this goes better then that other time we freed that snake, Lyric.” Just then Sonic steps on a floor panel and opens the old door to the temple.         .        .        .        . Within Eggman’s base, The evil scientist was fixing the dents in his flight vehicles when Metal Sonic finally arrived. “Ok let me guess...you lost them right?” Eggman asked the mute robot. “Great...let go and make sure those rascals aren't up to something.” With that Eggman got into his vehicle and both he and Metal flied into the air. Meanwhile back at the temple… The group of Sonic’s gang and the trio of heroes walked into the Temple interchamber as Tails uses his hand held computer to scan and decipher the ancient markings on the walls. “Ah this temple is the resting spot of the last Chaos Emerald.’ “Do you know what it is?” Garnet asked “Some legends say an ancient hero hedgehog once an seven emeralds to save the world on multiple events, but most records are lost or unfinished about that stuff logn ago.” “This hero sounds like my kind of guy.” Sonic said. Just then the group finally arrived at the center chamber and saw a glowing stone in the middle. “That must be it.” Amy said as Twilight activated the necklace on her neck to check for the Foundation Element. “This Chaos Emerald is the Foundation Element we are looking for guys.” “Ok, one chaos emerald coming up.” Knuckles ran to the stone and was about to take it off its pedestal when out of the blue, Metal Sonic grabbed the Emerald.   Metal Sonic then hands the Emerald to Eggman who smiled ear to ear. Eggman holds the emerald and monologues about taking over the island, when a blot of chaos energy shoots from the Chaos Emerald and hits Metal Sonic “That can’t be good…” Eggman says. Metal quickly grabs back the emerald and rams it into this powercore chest piece. The power filled Metal Sonic circuits as Eggman flied away screaming. Metal then turns his attention to the group below him and attacks. Metal blasts knuckles and Styx out cold then turns to Amy, Sonic, and Tails. However Metal is hit by Mario who double kicks the robot to the side. Mario then pulls out an powerup Flame Flower. Mario’s outfit changes to white and red as his fire attacks are more powerful. Mario and Metal go at it in a large fist fight. As Metal throws the punches MArio dogges them easily. Metal tries to fly away but is grabbed by Garnet from behind as she smashed him into the ground. Metal uses the chaos emerald to blast a shockwave of energy, sending Garnet and Mario back a few feet. Metal targets the sonic and his gang with an energy shot but Twilight manages to shield against it. “Time to end this!” Mario yelled as he pulls out the Chaos Emerald from Metal’s chest. In a flash of light Metal exploded into a thousand pieces with the trio victorious. “Wow, you guys are good.” Sonic gave a thumbs up to the trio as Garnet placed the Chaos Emerald in a bubble and Twilight put it in the necklace storage unit.   With all said and done, the group exited the temple and the trio said there fond farewells to Sonic and the gang. Twilight opened a Rift Portal and the trio jumped in. > 4 - A Trip Beneath an Ocean's Surface > --------------------------------------------------------------------------
