The sun was coming up, and some of its rays struck a sleeping couple thru the window of the Castle of Friendship and landed on Fluttershy's face. Fluttershy cuddled closer to Twilight and nuzzled her, waking Twilight up.

"Hello beautiful," Twilight murmured as she kissed Fluttershy, neither of them having opened their eyes yet. Fluttershy giggled.

"Good morning," she said. As they snuggled, Twilight's horn lit up and casted a beam of light out the slightly opened door, which ricocheted of off a mirror and hit a pice of cloth hanging on a lantern, grazing Fluttershy as it did so.

Whispering. That's the first thing I heard. As I opened my eyes, I was blinded by a sparkling stone hallway.

What the? What happened? Who am I? I thought.

Your destiny is yours to create I heard someone say.

"W-who's there?" I called as my eyes finally started to adjust to the light.

"Did you hear somepony?" Fluttershy asked as she opened her eyes.

"No," Twilight murmured. "If there is, one of the drones can handle it."

As my vision cleared, I heard a popping noise and a metallic-looking pony with wings and a horn appeared. The pony then glared at me with its crimson red eyes before asking "Who the hell are you, and how did you get in the castle?

"I...don't know. I don't really remember anything, actually," I said.

Well, duh! You were just created! another voice said. I frowned.

"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked the voice.

"Hey!" said the metallic pony. "That's what I'm supposed to ask! Who are you talking to?"

She's an alicorn. She's a lot stronger then a pony from any other tribe, the voice said again. And the fact that she was designed for war makes her a lot stronger.

"Who are you talking to?" the alicorn repeated.

"Can't you hear them?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Hear who?" the alicorn said as the voice said She can't hear us. Don't tell her about us just yet.

"Oh, intresting. What's you name?" I asked.

"Tell me your name, and I may tell you mine," the alicorn said.

I am Spark, the voice said. Or at least thats what my name was when I was alive. Tell her your name is Twill Weave.

"Ok. My name is Twill Weave," I said hesitantly.

"I'm One. I have to take you to the princess now," One said.

There was some nocking on the door.

"Yes?" Twilight called, not wanting to get out of bed yet. One opened the door to reveal herself and a young mare with long purple and pink hair grasping a lantern with her tail.

"I found her in the hallway. What should I do with her?" One asked.

"Find her parents, I guess," Twilight said. "Who are your parents?"

"I..I don't know," the mare said.

"One, scan her DNA," Twilight said. One looked at the mare with intense concentration, and a few seconds later, she looked at Twilight.

"You two are her parents," she said. Fluttershy gasped.

"Really? You used the animation spell?" Fluttershy asked Twilight. Twilight shrugged.

"I don't remember using it," she said.

"That's because the spell has been known to be casted when asleep," the mare said. "And occasionally has responded to stray thoughts and feelings." Twilight tilted her head.

"It does? How do you know that?" she asked. "And what's your name?" The mare hesitated and tilted her head.

"My name is Twill Weave, and I know that because Spark is telling me," she finally said.

"Who's Spark?" Fluttershy asked. Twill Weave frowned.

"I'm not actually sure. Who are you?" she asked what appeared to be thin air.

"A dragon?" she said a few seconds later. "What happened?" Fluttershy nudged Twilight.

"I think she's talking to a spirit," Fluttershy said.

"Really?" Twilight asked. "That explains why we can't hear anything."

"Oh. I'm sorry about that," Twill Weave was saying. "At least you went down honorable."

"Are you talking to a spirit?" Twilight asked, needing to satisfy her curiosity. Twill Weave nodded.

"And he or she was the first spirit to talk to you?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah, I think so," Twill Weave said. "I had just been created and wasn't exactly focusing on voices. Beside, Spark is the only one that talks to me."

That is true, another voice said. But I was technically the first to speak to you.

"Oh," Twill Weave said. "Never mind, he wasn't. Who are you?"

I am Tinder, the voice said. Me and Spark are friends. We fought in the same war.

"There's another spirit?" Twilight asked, getting excited. "What's his name?"

"Tinder," Twill Weave said. "He was the first to talk to me, actually, not Spark. Coincidentally, they are friends."

I have never seen Twilight seen so excited about something, Spark said.

Normally, wouldn't she be questioning the existence of spirits? Tinder wondered.

Maybe, but she has two other kids who she created with a spell. And Taissy was a DimTech rifle before the spell! Spark said.

"I have sisters?" Twill Weave asked. Twilight nodded and frowned.

"How much do these spirits know about us?"

We know a lot about this family. We are like guardians in a sense, Tinder said.

"Really? Intresting," Twill Weave said.

"What's intresting?" Twilight asked. Twill Weave told her what Tinder had just said.

"That is intresting," Twilight said. "Well, we should introduce you to your sisters now. And Tinder and Spark as well."

Introductions

Candy Burn and Taissy stared at Twill Weave as she introduced herself and the spirits.

"How are you able to talk to spirits?" Candy Burn asked. Twill Weave shrugged.

"I'm not sure, but I think it may have something to do with the lantern in my tail," she said as she glanced at her tail.

You're actually pretty close, Spark said. It is partially because of the lantern. Something happened to it a long time ago, and it was basically supercharged with energy that allowed it to be connected to the spirit relm.

"Really?" Twill Weave said. "That is interesting." Candy Burn tilted her head and Taissy frowned.

"Who are you talking to?" Taissy asked.

"Spark," Twill Weave answered. "He's one of the spirits that talks to me. He was just explaining how I am able to talk to spirits. It's because of an energy inside of it that makes it a part of the spirit relm." Twilight rubbed her chin.

"Interesting," she said. "And because it's a part of you, does that mean that you're a part of this 'spirit relm' as well?"

Sort of, Tinder said. You're technically sort of in-between relms.

"Now that is interesting," Twill Weave said. "Is it possible to travel there?
"Travel where?" Twilight asked.

Technically, yes, Tinder replied. However, most ponies need some kind of enhancement to help get here. You, however, have enough power to get here and back relatively comfortable.

"Travel where?" Twilight asked again.

"To the spirit realm. So can you! I think," Twill Weave said. "She is able to, right?

Yes, Tinder replied.

"Cool," Twill Weave said. "You are able to!"

"How?" Fluttershy asked. "How do you travel there?" Twill Weave shrugged.

"How do you?" she asked Tinder.

Well, first you have to concentrate, Tinder said. Then you have to think of a dead relative and focus everything on them, and after a few seconds, you should be there!

"Cool!" Twill Weave said, and then relayed that information to the others.

"Wow," Twilight said. "Is it possible for spirits to gain a physical form in this world?"

Yes, Spark said. It's just really hard too, depending on how we come back. We can either inhabit a living body, or we can try to get back into our old bodies.

"Really?" Twill Weave asked. "Have you ever done either off them?

Twice for both, Tinder said.

Once, and that was for my body, Spark said.

"Well?" Twilight asked. "Are they?"

"Yes," Twill Weave said. "So hypothetically, one of you could enter anyone's body?"

Yes, Spark said. It's just hard to.

Plus, who knows what it'll do to your aging if you try to do it? Tinder said.

"I can mess up my aging if I try?" Twill asked.

Maybe, Tinder said. But a spirit entering a body other than his own...that is against one of the laws we have.

"The spirit world has laws?" Twill Weave asked.

Of course, Spark said. The sprit world is like the mortal world, just colder. Picture it like that, and you've got a pretty good idea of what the spirit relm is like.

The Soul Exchange

Many miles away, in Canterlot, a phenomenon had occurred. Multiple people had suddenly fallen unconscious at a bar. Of course, they had already had multiple drinks, so no one had really thought about it much, until the barkeeper started closing up.

"Hey, wake up," he said, shaking one of them. The pony being shaken jerked upright and gasped. He looked all around the room, and then at himself.

"I'm back!" he said as he stood up. "And this time, I will not fail!"

"Uh, what are you talking about?" the bartender asked. The previously unconscious pony looked at him, and grinned.

"And you shall be my new lieutenant," he said.

"So, what happens when a spirit breaks one of your laws?" Twill Weave asked.

They go to jail, Spark said. And before you ask, yes, we have a jail.

"That's cool," Twill Weave said and relayed the info to Twilight, Fluttershy, Taissy and Candy Burn.

"That is cool," Candy Burn said. She looked out of the window. "Oh, sorry, I've got to go. A friend of Mom's has set up a training regime for me." Twill Weave raised her eyebrow.

"Does this have something to do with you being made out of candy corn?" she asked.

"Yes," Candy Burn said with a light blush. "Basically, the exercise helps keep the candy corn part of me from rotting. Anyway, see you later!" Candy Burn trotted out of the door and was gone.

Wait, did you just feel that? Tinder asked.

Yes, Spark said.

"What?" Twill Weave asked.

Something just happened Tinder said.

"Yeah, I know that," Twill Weave said. "But what?" Spark and Tinder were silent for a few seconds.

Whenever a spirit enters a already inhabited body, they let out a shockwave of sorts. The eviler they are, the bigger the shockwave, Tinder said.

And we just felt the biggest shockwave ever, Spark said. And that can mean only one thing: He is back

"Who?" Twill Weave asked. Twilight and Fluttershy glance at each other.

"I think something bad is happening," Fluttershy said.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure that something bad is happening," Twilight said.

Probably one of the most evil spirits ever, Spark said. He's been sentenced to prison for several thousand years because of some of the things he's done.

"What has he done?" Twill Weave asked, concerned.

The better question is what hasn't done? Spark said. But the most important thing is that he's just taken control of an inhabited body.

"Wait, what's this guys name?" Twill Weave asked.

No one's sure, Tinder said. Everyone calls him Slam.

"Ok," Twill Weave said. "Is there some kind of task force or something that will go after him?"

Yes, that's the thing, Tinder said nervously. Me and Spark are that task force.

"Really?" Twill Weave asked. "Wait, will that mean that you two will get into your old bodies or something?" There was a pause.

Yeah, Spark finally said. Honestly, things are happening so fast!

"That is true," Twill Weave said. "So, what happens now?"

Now, we leave. Bye! Tinder said.

Bye! Spark said. We shall meet again soon. But this time, we will be physical! There was silence.

"Huh, interesting," Twill Weave said.

"What's wrong?" Twilight asked.

"Apparently some super dangerous villain has escaped from a prison and has taken control of a body. And now Spark and Tinder are going to take on physical forms to battle him. It's all happening so fast! I was just created! It's like some higher power can't figure out some small details and that's why!"

"What?" Fluttershy asked.

"Um, ok," Twilight said. "So, how do we help?" Twilight grinned as she said this. Twill Weave shrugged.

"Wait until they get here, if they want our help," she said. "Other than that, we could get to know each other."

Coming to life again

In the dragon lands, there is a cemetery. A veteran cemetery. There were two specific graves that were important: Spark and Tinder's. At that moment, the dirt around them started to shake. Finally, a emerald green clawed hand sprouted out of one of them, quickly followed by an arm and the rest of the body. Spark gasped as he finally emerged from underground. Spark was mostly a black color, with his wings a fire orange, and his hands, for some reason, were green.

"AIR!" he shouted as he panted. He glanced at Tinder's grave, and smiled. "Wow, I actually beat him!"

"No you didn't," Tinder called from a rock he was hiding behind. "I just covered it up really well." Tinder was an oak color, whereas his wings were more of a birch color.

"Aw, come on man!" Spark cried. "Why are you so good at getting back into your body?" Tinder shrugged.

"I don't know," he said. "Anyway, we should probably find Slam now that we're in the physical relm." Spark nodded.

"Yeah, who knows how much damage he's already done?" he asked.

Meanwhile, back in Canterlot, Slam had gotten an impossible amount of damage done: except no one knew that it had been done yet. Slam cackled as he watched some thugs build a weapon that could even take Celestia's soul.

I wonder when those two dragons are going to get here, Slam wondered. I think I'm going to torture them for a little before I absorb their souls. After all, living for eternity has to start with a little fun!

"Tinder, hurry up!" Spark complained. "I finished eating a long time ago!"

"Yeah, I know," Tinder said. "But just because food helps regenerate our skin and all that, doesn't mean you can have bad table manners."
L
"I think you can!" Spark said. "People are staring at you, you know?" Tinder nodded.

"Maybe they've never seen a dragon before!" he said. "We are in Equestria, and dragons aren't too common here!"

"Just hurry up!" Spark groaned. "And I think their staring because of your skin. It still looks rotten."

Finally around two hours later, Spark and Tinder where making a plan.

"We should get Twilight's help!" Spark was arguing.

"No! We shouldn't put any innocent's in danger!" Tinder said.

"Yeah, but knowing Slam, he's going to have some kind of super weapon, and Twilight is an alicorn! They are the most powerful ponies! And most likely, we'll need that fire power!" Spark said.

"Yes, but we've taken out his weapons before! With infiltration!" Tinder said.

"Yes, but we had help!" Spark

"Yeah, but they weren't actually there! And besides, the less there are infiltrating the base, the less suspicious we will seem!" Tinder said. Spark sighed.

"Ok, fine. We'll do it your way," he said.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Tinder asked, grinning.

"We'll do this one your way," Spark groaned, not liking to admit his idea was inferior.

About ten minutes later, they were in, acting like janitors.

"I could've done so much better," Tinder grumbled. "Honestly, janitors?"

"Don't complain, it makes us seem suspicious," Spark said. "And come on dude, no one suspects the janitors." Spark had barely finished that sentence when something swung out of the shadows at Tinder's head. Spark gasped as who he guessed to be Slam stepped out of the shadows. The pony had green skin, slicked back black hair, and a goatee of the same color.

"Finally!" he said. "I've been waiting for you!" He swung the shovel he was holding at Spark, who managed to doge just in time. He swung it again, but Spark caught it and snapped it. He grabbed onto his shoulders, lifted him into the air and slammed him into the wall.

"Leave the innocents body!" he yelled. It was then he noticed that a crowd was gathering.

"What are you talking about?" the guy in his claws asked. "I was ordered to take you two down!"

Oh, I'm screwed Spark thought as he dropped the guy. "You're not Slam, are you?" The guy shook his head.

"I am just a minion of his," he said. "Call me Wraith."

"Well, then, this is awkward," Spark said.

"Why?" the minion asked.

"Because I just relised that I have somewhere to be!" Spark said as he started flapping his wings.

"Get him!" Wraith shouted. Spark, however, had other plans. He whipped his tail around some pony's neck, picked him up, and threw him at some of the other minions. Spark dived towards Tinder and barely managed to grab him as Wraith swung his shovel down at Tinder's face. Spark continued to flap his wings and rose above the crowd of minions until he reached a conveniently opened window and flew out, his wings (and Tinder) just barley fitting thru.

I need somewhere to go, Spark thought as he glanced at Tinder's head and saw him bleeding. And I think I know where I can go.

A few hours later, Spark landed in front of a castle. Twilight's castle. Spark arched his back and heard it crack.

Now, to find the door, he thought. He started dragging Tinder's body as he looked for the door. Finally, he found it.

Dang it! he thought. I landed on the wrong side! He continued dragging Tinder's body to the door. Finally, when Spark had put Tinder in a position that wouldn't be suspicious, he knocked on the door. After waiting for about a minute, he knocked again. Finally, he just opened the door and came face to face with Twilight.

"Oh, there you are!" Spark said. Twilight blushed and frowned.

"Do I know you?" she asked.

"Yes, both of us," Spark said.

"Both of us?" Twilight asked. She looked past Spark and saw Tinder lying on the ground. "What happened to him?"

"Shovel to the head," Spark said. "But you know us thru Twill Weave, your new daughter." Twilight gasped.

"Tinder?" she asked.

"Spark, actually," Spark said. "Can we come in? Tinder needs to get his head fixed before we go."

Chapter 5

Candy Burn, Taissy and Twill Weave stared at the two dragons in the castles hospital. It wasn't a full exactly a hospital, but it had the stuff to fix broken bones, mend wounds, and keep ponies from-or dragons in this case-from dying. Twilight was looking over the monitor that was hooked up to Tinder. Spark was sitting on a nearby chair.

"Hey, Spark?" Twill Weave asked. Spark looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah?" he replied.

"What's it like?" she asked. "Being dead, and then coming back to life?" Spark shrugged.

"In the spirit world, you're not really able to feel anything," he said. "But then again, that's a change. Not being able to feel anything, and then suddenly you can feel the wood of the coffin you've been buried in."

"You two were buried?" Twilight asked.

"Yep," Spark said.

"You should have come to me for some help," Twilight said. "I probably could have helped." Spark sighed.

"That's just the thing," he said. "I wanted too! Tinder mangled to convince me that we should destroy the machine with stealth."

"So, what does this machine do anyway?" Twilight asked.

"It sucks the soul out of the body and adds its life to Slam's," Spark said. "I'm not sure how exactly, but that's pretty much always been Slam's plan-to extend his own." Twilight frowned.

"That sounds dangerous," she said. "And it can effect any pony?"

"Yep," Spark said. "And I think dragons as well." Twilight sighed.

"Well, sounds like a job for the Elements of Harmony," she said.

"Really?" Spark said. "Not that I'm complaining, but how much good do you think that will do?"

"We differed Nightmare Moon with them," Twilight said. "And Discord, Tieriek and other villains."

"Ok, that's impressive," Spark said. "Discord? The spirit of chaos?"

"The one and only," Twilight said with a small smile. "Now, girls, you be good while me, your mom and the other elements take down this machine. You remember what too do if something starts to go wrong?"

"Mom, somethings not going to go wrong," Candy Burn said. "You're too good to let something bad go wrong." Twilight snickered.

"You're so sweat," she said as she kissed Candy Burn's forehead. "But seriously, you know what to do, right?"

"No," Twill Weave said.

"Basically, we have this mirror that goes to another dimension, and if something starts to go wrong, Mom wants us to go thru it and go to one of two houses," Taissy said.

"Intresting," Twill Weave said. "Have you ever been there before?"

"Yes," Candy Burn said. "But it wasn't because of something going wrong, we just wanted to go and check it out for a few days."

"Intresting," Twill Weave said.

"Well, I'm going to go wake Fluttershy up and go get the rest of the elements," Twilight said. "Wish me luck."

"Good luck," the three girls chorused as Twilight teleported away.

There was one slight flaw in Twilight's plan: Tinder still needed to heal and wasn't awake yet. Twilight, Spark, Fluttershy and the rest of the Main 6 watched Tinder as if expecting something to happen. Spark sighed.

"I feel bad about suggesting this," he said. "But maybe we should go without him."

"I agree with you there," Rarity said. "Honestly, we have the power to take out this machine, and you know a lot about it."

"Exactly!" Spark said. "But we should wait for Tinder." They heard a light coughing sound.

"Thank you," Tinder said. Pinkie, who was standing nearest too him, jumped back in surprise.

"How much of that did you hear?" Rarity asked.

"That doesn't matter," Tinder said. "What is important is that I get unhooked from this thing and that I get caught up on the plan."

About an hour later, the plan was set in motion and the Mane 6, Spark, Tinder and several dozen Royal Guard members were positioned outside of the factory that Slam was supposed to be in. The Royal Guard members were positioned right on the door, ready to barge in at a moments notice. The captain of the group of soldiers looked at Twilight, ready for the signal. Twilight nodded, and said captain had the unicorn guards use their magic to tear down the door. The ran in, only to see absolutely nothing. There was some confused chatter among them until a beam of light struck them. After a few seconds, they started screaming, and slowly started to turn grey. The rest of the Royal Guards looked at where the been had originated from, and charged at it, only for the same thing to happen to them. The pegisi fell from the air, and the earth ponies collapsed. Twilight stared at the machine that started rolling out of the shadows.

"Hello, princess!" Twilight heard someone from the shadows say. "I need to borrow your soul for a little while, is that alright?" Then the beam hit her, and she felt nothing more.

Luna ran towards Celestia's bed chambers and slammed open her doors. Celestia looked up guiltily as she tried to hide the cake that she was eating. Luna frowned.

"Are you really eating cake?" she asked, then shook her head. "Never mind. You remember that thing that Twilight was checking out?" Celestia nodded.

"That souls consumer?" she asked.

"Yes, the soul consumer," Luna said. "It's real! Twilight and the rest of the Bearers of Harmony have fallen!" Celestia gasped as her eyes started to water.

"No!" she said. Luna nodded. Celestia started to lightly cry. "I'm afraid so, sister. But we do have the two dragons that know everything about it and the guy that made it!"

"That's good," Celestia said. She dabbed her eyes. "Do their kids know?" Luna shook her head.

"Not yet," she said. "I was going to go tell them after this, and then tell them to cross through the mirror." Celestia nodded.

"Yes, the mirror," she said. "Now, let's get those two dragons!"

The girls and Spike gasped as Luna told them what had happened.

"Their all gone?" Candy Burn choked out. Luna nodded gravely.

"But not for long," she said. "We are going to release their souls. However, we are going to need you 5 to pass though the portal." The castle rumbled. "And you need to do it now! We do not know the full details of this villains plans, but you need to go! Now!" Spike and Floriba turned and jumped through the portal, but Candy Burn and Taissy looked at Luna.

"Take care of our moms bodies," Taissy said.

"Get them back please," Candy Burn said. "And make the guy who did this to them pay." Luna nodded.

"Of course," she said. "We will be punishing this Slam for a long time. Now go!"
