> I'm Sorry > by Sapphire the Gem > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Why Should I Believe You? > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "You're such an idiot Sonata!" "No I'm not!" "Yes you are!" "NO I'M NOT!" The argument still echoed in Sonata's head. Since loosing their pendents, their gems, their magic, it seemed like all they ever did was fight. Very few conversations were ever pleasant between the two former sirens. If they were it was only until Sonata's tongue slipped or Aria said something rather harsh about Sonata's new friends, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, Apple Jack, Rarity, and Fluttershy, then their seemingly endless disagreements would begin again. Their most recent, was particularly hurtful. It started as you typical after school discussion with questions like how was your day and things like that. Until, Aria changed the subject and started going off at Pinkie for planting a party cannon of some sort in her locker. Sonata tried to tell her that Pinkie was just trying to put a smile on her "pouty old Aria face." Although Sonata had meant it a joke, Aria took it offensively and fired back at Sonata, which started another one of their cat fights. Naturally the girls were fighting of mundane, but it didn't phase their burning rage, if anything it just made things worse. And now Sonata was sitting in the corner of her room. All of the lights were out, which turned the lovely poster filled magenta walls almost pitch black. The only things darker were the shadowy shapes of her dresser, her bed, and Sonata her self. She looked at the floor, then the ceiling and back to the floor. "Stupid Aria." She grumbled, "Making fun of my friends, and then making fun of me." She sniffled as a few tears fell from her eyes. She pulled her legs closer as they started to fall. "I hate her!" She sobbed, burrowing her face into her arms, "I just hate her!" Sonata's eyes popped open when she heard a knock at her door. "Just go away." She whispered, barely loud enough to be heard. It was silent for only a few seconds before the knocking started again. "I said to GO AWAY!" the blue girl screamed as a few more tears fell from her eyes, "I just want to be alone." She heard the door creak open who ever it was sure wasn't very respectful. "Hey Sonata." Aria muttered peaking her head through a crack in the door. Aria... Sonata gritted her teeth, and tightened her grip around herself. "It's pitch black in here." Aria spoke as she entered Sonata's room, "How can you even see Vamprilla?" Sonata winced as Aria flipped on the lights. "What do you want Aria?" She snarled. "I... I'm sorry." Aria muttered, dipping her head. Sonata raised an eyebrow, "What?" "I'm sorry okay!" Aria snapped. The purple girl took a few deep breaths before continuing, "I-I wasn't trying to start anything with you." "Yeah right." Sonata growled, "You should have known better than to mess with one of my friends, verbally, physically or otherwise." Aria paused for a moment and came closer to Sonata, "I know." "Then why did you do it?" Sonata growled. Aria was now standing over the irritated Sonata, "I... um..." "You can't control what comes out of your mouth," Sonata responded gruffly as another tear fell from her eye, "so what do you do, you just say what ever pops into your head, without thinking about weather or not it will hurt anyone. Should I mention, that you've never apologized for anything?" Aria was silent for a few moments before speaking, "What do you think I'm doing right now?" Sonata was taken aback by Aria's question. As she had said earlier Aria never apologized, ever. That is, unless she was forced to, but she never truly meant any of it. How was this any different? For one thing, Adagio wasn't home, there fore, no one was there to force Aria to do anything. That still didn't change Sonata's mind though. "I don't know." Sonata sniffled. Aria sighed and sat down behind Sonata, "If I didn't mean it, would I do this." The purple girl then wrapped her arms around her fellow siren's waist and hugged her, "I'm sorry Sonata Dusk. I'm sorry." Sonata's eyes widened, Aria was never like this. Maybe she really is sorry. She turned towards Aria and starred into the other girl's indigo eyes, "Do you really mean it Ari?" Aria sat upright, "Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye." she swore. "Did you just?" "Yes Sonata I did." Aria smiled, "And this is a promise that I will keep." "You'd better." Sonata scowled playfully, "Other wise, Pinkie will kill you." "Yeah right." Aria scoffed, "There's no way that little bundle of happiness can ever be that angry." Sonata's face became more stern, "No literally Aria. She will." Aria's smile faded, "She will?" Sonata laughed, "Of course not silly. But she will be pretty ticked." Aria chuckled and rose to her feet, extending a head for Sonata. The blue girl smiled and grabbed on to the other girl's hand, Aria then pulled Sonata to her feet and hugged her again. This time Sonata hugged Aria back, half squeezing the life out of her. "I love you Ari." She giggled. Aria gasped for air but managed to speak normally, "I love you too you little blue goof."
