Next Morning
Like every other day of the days, it was morning in Ponyville. A morning with no special occasion happening. Not a Princess coming to town causing a whole town panic, to wake every pony tiredly early in the morning to make their town look perfect for their Equestrian Rulers. It also was a morning of no sort of chaos from a wild creature and for everypony happiness not from Discord. Though Pinkie Pie certainly would be happy if the town was raining chocolate, that would certainly make her morning.
So yes, it was a morning like every pony like, normal. Being a normal day, it allowed everyone to do what they needed or wanted to do to begin their day.
Just like to a specific rainbow mane mare who stood in front of a old wooden door, wanting to just speak to her long time friend.
The day not being any special or any reason to rush the speedy Rainbow Dash, she politely knock the wooden door instead of impatiently rushing in without warning. However, to her irritation, the very day she's polite there was no answer or any sign behind the door to allow her to enter, and she expected much of being one of those days.
‘Ugh does she have to study today.’
Wanting to see her friend still being her primal plan for today, she went to the open window near Fluttershy’s room. Though Rainbow does worry some stranger would break in because of the window one day. Like herself, it wasnt difficult for her to enter the room. She knows no one should underestimate her shy friend, but still she can’t help but worry for her friend safety being in the wood alone and all.
Stepping to her friend room, she sighed seeing the empty room. Going down the stairs to the living room and kitchen, she sighed once again seeing the rooms empty except for a few animals that were in Fluttershy care.
‘She not in her room or downstairs. So she is studying in her basement.’
Many ponies and Fluttershy close friends, were surprised to find out Fluttershy had a secret room behind her book shelves in her living room filled with her knitting art. However, they would have been surprised if they knew she had another room no one knew… well except to Rainbow Dash who is walking toward the secret room at the moment.
Rainbow walking down another set of stairs going down to the basement, but except going to the left to the room containing emergency animal supply. Instead, she look to her right, to face a wall which look like a cement wall. But to Rainbow knowledgeable mind of already going down here before knew it was a wooden door painted grey.
Giving a slight knock, to let the pony inside aware she was going to enter the room. Giving the door a nudge with her hoof, she stepped inside to see the pony she been looking for lying on her couch with some book under her head.
“Hey pal, what’ up?” She said while walking closer to the sofa her friend preoccupied.
Flipping a page with the tip of her yellow snout, Fluttershy look away from her book to look at her visitor for the first time she step in.
With a smile she said, “Hello Rainbow, what are you doing here?” She stared at her friend lying down on the second and last couch of the room.
“It Friday…” Waging a cyan hoof in the air as if some random calendar was their to show it was in fact Friday. She then smiled hearing her friend stutter her words and apology.
“Oh m-my how could I forget our weekly visit?! I’m so sorry Rainbow.. I didn’t even set any breakfast for us.”
Before Fluttershy could move, her friend began to reassure everything was okay. “Woah there Fluttershy, it okay, really. I’m pretty sure you're still getting used to our weekly visit.” ‘I Know I am.’
To Rainbow Dash understanding, Fluttershy has a full schedule of friends visiting or past time with her. Rarity has her weekly spa with Fluttershy on some week day mostly on Tuesday or Thursday. Discord comes to Ponyville on Tuesday for his tea party. Tree Hugger would visit on some days on some random day.
And to Rainbow Dash shock, Gilda would visit the shy mare on some random day.
All these visit to Fluttershy all has fueling Rainbow quilt for not visiting her close friend. It not like she doesn’t see her friend in some point of the day, because she does. But lately, she couldn’t help but feeling guilty for only seeing Fluttershy on her flight practice. It was cool to see her shy friend cheering on her practice, but they were mostly to have a spectator, not to conversate. So to see her friend more weekly for they could actually hang out, she talked to her friend a while back and plan to visit each other house on Friday. Since then, they been seeing each other for casual talk or plan some activity they both would enjoy.
Pretty far, Rainbow has been enjoying her time with Fluttershy. Like they did in the past.
“So pal…” Seeing her friend calming down of not cooking breakfast for the abrupt visit, she continue, “It seem it that part of time again.” Pointing to the book her friend was reading. “How many books have those nerdy doctors and veterinarians sent you this time? Wait, let me quess… 50.”
“Thank goodness it not that much. Luckily the medical community only sent me 27 books. Most of it was based on surgical discovery.”
Rainbow couldn’t help but find it funny that Fluttershy was relief of not reading nerdy stuff. Sure she wasn’t a big nerd as Twilight, but Fluttershy wasn’t dumb, not even close. To Rainbow long experience of being friend with Fluttershy, Fluttershy was smart.
The room around them proves Rainbow thought.
In the room surrounding the two friends wasn’t exactly large to held a party, but was big enough enough to not give any pegasi a thought of being trapped. Though the room wasn’t ideal to fly in or to glide, it still hold a nice space to move around. For the walls around the two ponies, no one wouldn’t exactly see the walls of the room since all the walls were covered by bookshelves, except blocking the door, giving the room like an octagon shape, shelves were stacked up by books after books of covering many subjects. Not like the books upstairs where anypony could see a shelf filled with fairy tale and fictional romantic story that makes Rainbow gag in such smoochy stories.
“27 huh, that good. You wouldn't have to be so busy reading like last time.” Rainbow look at her friend, seeing her sigh in relief again, louder this time.
“Oh yes, I feet so bad for my animal friends and to my friends for having to deal with my lack of attention. I feel more bad for Twilight when she told us to read the book, to help her with the Ox.” The canary mare ears folded to her skull in feeling awful for not helping her distress friend in the past.
Rainbow wanted to comfort her it was okay, but after waiting for many weeks, Rainbow Dash finally found the perfect opening to bring the subject back to be discuss again between the two.
“Well if you tell our secret to our friends, Twilight would understand.”
“Rainbow…” She saw Fluttershy expression telling her where she leading this conversation.
“Look Fluttershy,” Sitting up to look clearly at Fluttershy, she continued, “I know it not really my secret but more of your’s. But come on, their good and trustful friends. We could tell them about our adventure together in the past.” She could tell Fluttershy still wasn’t so sure, so she had to continue her persuasion.
Looking around the room, it didn’t take long to find the drawer containing a few frames, important frames to the two ponies.
The cyan mare walked to the drawer, she pointed to one of the frames containing Fluttershy certificate.
“Don’t you want to show your your Certify for several medical subject and you graduated from the highest University in Cloudsdale. Aren’t you frustrated only your parent and me know about your accomplishment?” Rainbow grew frustrated when Fluttershy gave a slow shake of her head as a no.”Why not?! Why not tell them to your a certified pony of so many medical skills? Why not tell them you're the greatest Doctor that ever lived?!” She didn’t mean to scream to Fluttershy, it just been so long Fluttershy had been hiding her true potential when she shouldn’t. She should be showing it off like herself. Well, that what Rainbow thought.
With Rainbow screaming at her, she felt terrible for causing Fluttershy to hide behind her mane. She was going to apologize until her friend speak up...
“Okay Rainbow I’ll tell them.” Just as Rainbow was going to pound her hooves to the air in cheer, Fluttershy continued on, “If you tell our friends your secret.” Looking skeptically at her cyan friend with a single eye looking through her pink mane.
All the cheer and the frustration rainbow was feeling vanish to thin air, only for a big burning flush to appear on her cyan face.
“W-W-What secret?” Dash look at her friend with wide eyes.
“The one you like m-”
“That different!” Rainbow yelled franticly before her friend could say anything else. “My secret is way different from yours. Mine is more personal.” The flush not living her face.
“So is mine. If you don’t say yours, I don’t say mine.” The timid mare said in her firmest voice.
“Ugh fine, so I guess you not going to say our secret huh?” She received another shake of no.
It was then Rainbow stomach felt it was the right time to call it hunger, also reminding her a small bowl of vegetable wasn’t enough for breakfast.
“Um, about that.. breakfast.” Rainbow look away from her friend, trying to hide her growing reddish face.
“It sort of late for breakfast.” She look at one of Fluttershy clock and sure enough it was almost noon. She was about to invite her friend for lunch but her friend gave a better request, “Do you mind we could have a picnic today?”
In all of Rainbow life, she knew Fluttershy wasn’t good at flying as her, but Dash damn knew her timid friend was good taking care of her animals, medical stuff, and especially cooking. So it was no surprise she was all in on going to Fluttershy picnic.
“What for lunch?”

In the corner of the Everfree Forest, all the trees and bushes swoosh to the calming wind. But that was all that was calm. The swishing trees and the bushes was the only things that kept the corner of Everfree forest looking abnormal. It what kept all the animals near Fluttershy’s cottage from running away in terror or going to their yellow pegasus protector for help and to protect them from the monster. It also what kept from Rainbow seeing a pair of eyes behind the well colored green bush.
The creature behind the bushes sharpen it eyes when it saw the rainbow mane pony enter the yellow pegasus home. The creature had to control itself from leaping from it hiding to attack the intruding cyan mare. However, it didn’t, it only snarl at frustration how it must continue to wait. It again snarl how it must wait longer from it future pleasure. Oh how long has the hiding creature waited for this moment?
…
So very long!
In the creature mind, it force every nerve of it mind to wait, to wait for the pleasure that will come when the second the cyan pegasus leaves the yellow pegasus alone. That alone thought couldn’t hide the creature smile behind the bush.
It couldn't wait to kill the one called ‘Fluttershy’.
And who knows, maybe his brothers and sister wouldn’t mind if he was a few minutes late to enjoy the pain of the yellow mare face. Nah he can’t, he got direct orders from his oldest brother.
Oh well. Simply killing her would have to do to satisfy the creature.
