“Darn alarm clock.” Applejack muttered to herself as she slammed her hoof on the snooze button of the small piece of machinery before turning on her side and attempting to fall asleep once again. After a few minutes of tossing and turning in her bed the farm pony grumbled, before letting out a sigh of defeat and crawling out of her bed to face the day ahead of her.

“Why did Rarity even give me that thing.” Applejack mumbled to herself as she started to make her way towards the kitchen. “She knows that I don’t need one. Big Mac usually wakes me up when I’m supposed to do my chores.” The farm pony continued to mutter to herself, making sure not to make too much noise and awaken the other members of her family who were still asleep in their beds.

“She probably gave it to me cause the darn thing was broken.” Applejack said to herself as she started pouring herself a bowl of cereal from the kitchen cupboard. “The darn thing woke me up at least 2 hours before it was supposed to.” Applejack muttered to herself as she finished pouring the bowl of cereal, and moved towards the fridge to get herself some milk to go with the cereal. She paused however, when she became aware of strange dripping noise. She silently cursed to herself as she turned her head to face the kitchen sink, to find that there were no leaks to be seen. After she heard another drip fall, she looked down and to her embarrassment found that the leak was in fact, coming from her moist ‘private parts’.

“I must have had one of those dreams again last night.” Applejack said to herself with a blush as she abandoned her pursuit of breakfast and started trotting towards the upstairs bathroom. “I really have to learn to keep these impulses under control, what with that brunch with the princess coming up.” Applejack whispered to herself as she tip-toed up the stairs as quietly as she could, before stopping abruptly as a look of horror flashed upon her face.

“Oh my Celestia.” Applejack said to herself as she was suddenly hit with a stroke of realization. “The brunch is today!” Applejack said to herself as she quickened her pace towards the bathroom in order to make herself look presentable for her date with the princess.

Okay, maybe it wasn’t a real date. But for Applejack, who had been harboring a secret crush on the princess for at least 3 years, a chance to sit beside the princess for an hour eating various pastries and enjoying conversation was a dream come true. Which was why she had to look as nice as possible, in order to make a good impression on her potential lover.

After she had cleansed herself of the evidence from the dream she had enjoyed that night, the farm pony stepped out of the bathtub and looked at herself in the mirror. She took a second to admire herself in the mirror, before she started trotting out of her family’s house towards the Sugarcube corner bakery.

(Around 30 minutes later)

“Who’s there.” The guards in front of the bakery asked the orange pony who had attempted to walk past them to get into the bakery. Applejack gulped slightly before opening her mouth to speak.

“That’s my friend Applejack, and you just startled her.” Rainbow Dash explained from behind the guards, before moving at a nearly impossible speed and moving in front of her friend with a smile on her face.

“Hello Applejack, the princess is right this way.” Rainbow dash said with a smile and a wink that went unnoticed by the guards. Applejack blushed at the mention of the princess and followed her friend inside.

“Where will I be sitting?” Applejack asked after she and her friend were inside the building, her friend gave her a large grin before pointing towards a table near the end of the bakery. Applejack’s jaw nearly dropped as she saw that her friend was pointing at one of the two empty seats directly beside Princess Celestia. After the farm pony recovered from her shock she turned her head to face her friend, who’s grin still remained on her face.

“How did you...” Applejack started to say before being silenced by her friend, who pointed at another one of their friends who currently appeared to be grumbling to herself as she stood beside one of the buffet tables set up throughout the bakery.

“You can thank Twilight for giving up her seat for the greater good.” Rainbow Dash said with a slightly evil smile on her face that appeared to tell Applejack that Twilight hadn’t exactly given up her spot beside the princess of her own free will. Applejack gave her friend a grin before she started walking up towards her designated seat beside the princess whilst attempting to hide her excitement.

The farm pony quickly sat down beside the princess, whilst attempting to suppress the tingling feeling that was slowly forming near her stomach. She attempted to talk with the princess, but every time she tried, her mouth would become inexplicably dry and no words would come out.

“Is everything alright.” The princess asked the farm pony who sat beside her, causing Applejack to give her an extremely shaky smile before nodding her head.

“Everything’s fine princess.” Applejack said with a fake smile before she looked at the food in front of her in an attempt to ward off the princess’ concern for her well-being. This seemed to fail however as the princess placed a hoof on her shoulder, which caused the farm pony to nearly jump in surprise.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” The princess asked the farm pony, who was now beginning to sweat under the princess’ touch.

“I’m fine, I’m just not that hungry right now.” Applejack said with a plastic smile upon her face, as her gaze drifted towards a strange bird cage that was directly beside the princess on the table.

“What’s with the cage?” Applejack asked, in an effort to take the princess’ attention off of her strange behavior. The princess gave a smile before whispering in Applejack’s ear.

“It’s a surprise for you and Fluttershy.” The princess said with a smile on her face.
