Door of cafeteria opened and a girl with fiery hair stepped inside. There was a frown and an undeniable smirk on her face that gave her face a scary, devilish look. Maybe that expression was the reason that the people that were closer to door of cafeteria gasped and went quiet. The place slowly went much quieter as everyone noticed the girl that was walking to a specific table that had six girls on it.

Finally, the whole cafeteria went quiet and the only sound there, was sound of that girl’s steps and six girls talking and laughing with each other. But it didn’t take a lot of time for the girls on the table to notice the odd silence over the place. It also didn’t take them a long time to notice the girl that was walking toward them and very soon, the six friends went quiet as the other people in the cafeteria.

“Uh oh,” said a girl with straight, purple hair named Twilight Sparkle. “This means trouble.”

Another girl on the table which had pink hair and pale yellow skin, gulped and whispered, “I hate to see that look on her face. I hope she didn’t went bad again.”

“Don’t you worry Fluttershy. Even if she went back to her evil self again, we’ll all fight her,” whispered back the girl beside her. She had blue skin and rainbow hair that matched her name, Rainbow Dash.

After some stressful and scary seconds passed, the fiery girl reached their table. She leaned in and did an evil laugh-at least that was what others thought. “You poor, poor girls. You’re gonna have a very hard time. You know why?” asked Sunset with the same evil face.

“Wh…Why?” asked Twilight with a shaky voice.

“CAUSE NOW I CAN CONTROL ALL OF YOU!” she announced with an evil laugh. “You know how?”

“H…h…how?” said Rarity with a voice much shakier than Twilight’s.

It was at that point that… Sunset Shimmer beamed up and grinned from ear to ear. Literally. “I FINALLY MADE IT! THAT’S HOW!” she screamed happily and bounced up and down like her friend, Pinkie Pie.

“YAY! SHE MADE IT, SHE MADE IT!” screamed Pinkie Pie, a girl with puffy, pink hair. “Wait… what did you made?”

Sunset rolled her eyes before speaking, “The potion I’ve always wanted to make. I FINALLY MADE IT!” she said happily.

Twilight, who was sipping on her water spit it all out. “REALLY?! Does that mean that you don’t want me to test those creepy liquids?” asked Twilight with a big grin.

“Well… not exactly. I’ll need volunteers to try the potion. I’m only eighty nine percent sure that the potion will work. I have to be one hundred percent sure that it works,” replied Sunset.

“Sorry to interrupt in your conversation but what is this potion you two are talking about?” asked Rainbow as she munched her sandwich.

“No offence Rainbow, but it’s not something that is good for you. You’ll only like to try it if a thunderbolt or something hit your head,” she said with a chuckle to Rainbow. “But if you guys really care, it’s a love potion. I know, I know, now all of you will say that love potion is only in tales, but I actually made it! This potion is exactly my one hundred and twenty third sample. Most of them burst in my face and there was only a few of them that didn’t. Those few potions were tested by different people…”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa… DIFFERENT people? You gave all of those junks to me!” said Twilight angrily.

“This is soooo not right. I tested them on my sister and my cousins. All of them,” said Sunset with a professional tone. “And of course you.”

“Ugh, whatever,” answered Twilight with an annoyed tone.

“As I was saying, this potion is more important than others because I’ve never been eighty nine percent sure that my love potion works. But now that I am, I wanna be one hundred percent sure. So… any of you wanna volunteer?”

“Ahem, let’s look at this professionally,” said Twilight. “If I volunteer, then there’s a tiny problem. Who’s the lucky boy who will fall in love with me?”

Others nodded. Clearly, Twilight’s question was a very good question and was answered quickly by Sunset, “Don’t worry, I’d thought of that before. If any of you volunteer, I’ll let you choose whoever you want.”

“Whoever?”

“Whoever you said.”

“But what if that whoever wasn’t a volunteer? Huh?” asked Twilight with a raised eyebrow. “Also, have you thought of a cure for it? Even if someone choose to drink the potion and fall in love with someone she/he doesn’t know, you’ll still need a cure for it.”

“Twilight’s completely right. Ah guess ya have to complete all of those things first,” said Applejack with her country accent.

Sunset huffed and answered, “Please, I have thought of every single of those before. There IS a cure for it. And if that boy you chose wasn’t a volunteer, I’ll mix the potion with his food. Trust me girls, he wouldn’t even know who did this.”

Twilight’s eyes went wide as she find out what Sunset said and she quickly gasped. “HOW COULD YOU?! Sunset this isn’t right! You’re breaking humans’ rights!”

“Ah’m… not sure that it actually is humans’ rights or not but ah clearly know that I’ll feel really bad about lyin’ to someone. Even if it’s a boy,” said Applejack with doubt.

“I… I think it’s so…scary,” said Fluttershy with a voice full of fear. “I’ll sure feel terrible if I do this and… oh! Think how angry that boy will get if he finds out. I don’t anyone to scream at me.”

“Darling, of course it’s wrong but I rather choose a boy who… agrees. But he’d better be handsome or I won’t accept,” said Rarity with a smile.

“Come on guys. This isn’t anything but… AWESOME!” shouted Rainbow Dash happily. “Mixing the potion in his food without him knowing it? I’ve never heard or seen anything more awesome than that! Count me in!”

All of the girls around the table stared at Rainbow with wide eyes. “Rainbow darling, are you sure about it?” asked Rarity with a confused expression.

“Yep,” answered Rainbow confidently. “What? I’m a girl too. I may act like a boy but that doesn’t mean I haven’t think of having boyfriend,” she said as she saw her friends’ confused faces.

“So from here we have two volunteers: Rarity and Rainbow. Right?” exclaimed Sunset. Rarity and Rainbow nodded and confirmed their agreement. “So who do you choose as your partner during the test?” asked Sunset excitedly.

“As I told you darling, as long as my partner isn’t like a freaky frog, I’m fine with whoever volunteered,” said Rarity. Although she answered Sunset calmly, excitement could be easily read from her eyes.

“And you Rainbow?”

“I… don’t know,” answered Rainbow.

“But I know!” said Rarity with a very excited tone. “Why don’t you choose Soarin?”

“What? No!” answered Rainbow quickly.

“I don’t usually ship people but I’ve gotta agree on this one. You two truly are great together,” said Twilight with a smile. After her, others nodded and giggled at the thought of Soarin and Rainbow being together.

“No. Just no,” said Rainbow sternly.

“But why darling?” asked Rarity.

“Yeah Rarity’s right. Why? You’d better have an acceptable reason Rainbow Dash,” said Sunset to her. What everyone expected was Rainbow, taking some minutes to make an excuse and give them a lie. However, what happened certainly wasn’t the same.

Rainbow shrugged dismissively and answered, “First it’s that he already has a girlfriend. Second, he’s my best friend so in summary, I can’t be disloyal to my best friend.”

“He…” whispered Rarity.

“…Has a…” continued Twilight.

“…GIRLFRIEND?!” all of the girls shouted together.

In return, Rainbow just stared at them with an indifferent expression. “Yeah, so what?”

“So what? SO WHAT? Since when he has a girlfriend?” asked Rarity.

“And since when do you care?” asked Rainbow with a raised eyebrow.

“It’s just that…” started Twilight. She looked at others and when she saw them nodding, she continued, “We always thought that since…”

“… Soarin is my best friend, we’ll end up being together. Seriously guys?” said Rainbow with the same indifferent tone she had earlier.

“So who’s the girl anyway?” asked Applejack.

“If you girls really wanna know, it’s that girl named Fury Star.”

“Ewww!” all of the girls said in union.

This time, Rainbow’s cold expression changed and her magenta eyes went wide. “What?”

“Why her of all girls?” said Pinkie with her tongue poked out in disgust.

“Hey, what’s everyone’s problem with her? She’s a good girl,” said Rainbow with frown.

“Wow, not only you support your best friend but you support his girlfriend too,” said Twilight with an amazed face.

Rainbow huffed. “Yeah, protecting her from her own boyfriend,” she muttered under her breath.

“What was that?” asked Rarity.

“Huh? Nothing. Nothing. It’s just that… Spitfire and Fleetfoot both hate her too. Among them, only I support her,” said Rainbow quickly.

“You mean even Soarin doesn’t like her?” asked Sunset with a raised eyebrow.

“What? I never said so,” said Rainbow with a smile that seemed normal to others but to the friends who knew her for years, was an awkward smile.

“Something isn’t right here,” said Twilight with a doubtful tone and narrowed eyes.

“Why are we talking about Soarin’s relationship again?” asked Fluttershy. She clearly asked this to help Rainbow.

“Fluttershy has a good point here. Why? WHY?” exclaimed Pinkie Pie.

“Fine Pinkie. We got it. No need to shout sugar cube,” said Applejack as she continued eating her lunch.

“How about we continue eating, then talk about it?” asked Fluttershy.

“Yeah, that’s better,” said Twilight.

Rainbow Dash who find out that Fluttershy had gain all of her courage and said those things at the first place, gave her a warm smile to thank her. ‘Idiot eggheads and their huge brain,’ cursed Rainbow in her mind.





Few tables away from the seven friends, other three friends were sitting on a table. Two of them were eating their lunch while the other was holding his head with his hands.

“So what Soar?” asked one of his friends who had silver hair and aqua skin. Everyone in the school knew her as Fleetfoot. “It’s not like we really care do we?”

“Like I said, it’s not like I really care for her but it’s that she’ll go to Rainbow to solve this since she know Rainbow is the only one who supports her and is also my best friend. Then Rainbow has to come and make me accept my fault and after all of those, instead of a simple thank you, Fury would only hurt Rainbow’s feelings again. You have no idea how much it hurts to see that painful expression on her face,” explained the boy with navy blue hair, the one and only Soarin. “The bad part is that I can’t say anything to Fury cause this cycle will start again.”

A fiery haired girl who was eating her lunch rolled her eyes and muttered, “If you care this much for Rainbow why don’t you marry her already?”

Too bad that her whispering reached to Soarin’s ear and he quickly frowned. “SPITFIRE! You know that she’s only my best friend and nothing else.”

“Fine, fine, chill out. If nothing, I’ve been living with you for my entire life,” said Spitfire as she rolled her eyes.

“I just hope that this idiot girl doesn’t ruin anything,” said Soarin. Right at that moment, a girl with teary eyes walked past their table but stopped as she noticed Soarin. She stared at him with tears in her eyes but started walking away when she find out that Soarin wasn’t going to say anything.

“Why didn’t you say anything?” asked Fleetfoot. “You could have easily get her away from Rainbow and all the cycle you said earlier.”

“Tell her what? That I’m sorry? Never in a million years,” said Soarin angrily.

“Uh-oh. She’s walking to Rainbow’s table,” said Fleetfoot since she was exactly in front of Rainbow and her friends’ table.

“No wonder,” said Spitfire with a sigh.

“Here we go again,” said Soarin as he put back his head in his hands.
> 2-Rainbow's Second Friends

“Ra…Rainbow Dash,” called a girl with watery eyes.

Rainbow Dash who was gathering leftover of her food turned around with a smile. “Hey Fue… oh,” Rainbow’s expression quickly went sad as she saw the tears on the girls face. The girl was a beautiful one.

She had a straight navy and light yellow hair that was always gathered in a ponytail and at that moment was messy. Her skin was something between purple and pink and it was the first thing that caught eyes of the people who see her. But at that moment, her skin was paler than other times and it was glistening due to crying and its wetness.

"Soarin… he… he…” stammered Fury Star.

“He screwed up again, right?” said Rainbow flatly. As the answer, Fury only nodded with an innocent face.

Rainbow smiled kindly at her and put her hand on her shoulder. “Don’t you worry. I’ll fix it for you.”

“AHEEEEM,” someone cleared her throat from Rainbow’s behind. She turned around to find the source of sound and saw nothing but Twilight’s almost angry face. “Yes Rainbow. You never said so cause it was true.”

“What are you talking about Twi?” said Rainbow with an awkward chuckle.

“You know better what I’m talking about,” said Twilight with a frown.

“Can… we talk later?” said Rainbow as she sensed Fury pulling her hand.

“Fine but remember that you can’t run away this time,” shouted Twilight as Rainbow got pulled away.

“Whoa, Fue. Slow down. I’m not going anywhere,” said Rainbow but got no answer in return. “So… what happened this time?”

“I… I was telling my classmates that I have a wonderful boyfriend and it’s none other than Soarin but suddenly he came there and told me that he wants to talk to me. Then he pulled me away from them and started shouting at me for telling my friends about our relationship,” explained Fury sadly.

‘Of course he would shout at you. Showoff,’ said Rainbow in her head. “OK, leave it to me.”

It was always a trouble for Rainbow to build the friendship between two people that were in the sulks with each other but after Soarin started dating Fury, their arguing started. It was all Soarin who started the fights. Poor Fury was so in love with Soarin that she endured all of those humiliations from him. In the middle of all of these was Rainbow who had to talk to Soarin and make him accept his fault.

First time it started off right in front of Rainbow and happened a week after Soarin and Fury's first date. Fury who had seen Rainbow, Spitfire, Fleetfoot hanging out with Soarin all the time, told Soarin that she wanted to a part of their group. At that time, Soarin said a simple 'no' to her but he quickly got angry when Fury kept begging him. It was when he started to shout at her and she quickly teared up.

Rainbow who had been there all the time, saw this and went to Soarin. Instead of being angry at Fury, she was mostly angry at Soarin so for the first time in her life, Rainbow Dash started shouting at her best friend, Soarin. She blamed him for tearing Fury up. While Rainbow was shouting, Soarin was only staring at her with wide eyes and dropped jaw and that was completely natural. Never in his life had Rainbow raised her voice on him. They were always so good to each other that whoever didn't know them, thought that they were siblings.

However, after hearing all of Rainbow's shouting, all Soarin did was frowning and saying that what she said hadn't changed his mind so she started to talk on a softer tone. Sure, it took a long time for Rainbow to make Soarin realize that what he did is wrong but after doing that he accepted his fault but didn't apologize. By the way, this is Soarin we're talking about and he never ever apologize a girl. That day, Soarin promised Rainbow that he would try his best to treat Fury, if not like his girlfriend, but at least like his own sister. Even with that promise it was obvious for Rainbow that there are gonna be a lot of fights between them in the future.

Also, she started defending Fury after the first fight. Spitfire and Fleetfoot who hated Fury to be around them, were the first people who started teasing Fury. It was when Rainbow appeared in front of Fury just like a super hero and defended her. She told them if they have a problem with Soarin's girlfriend, then they'd better go and find other friends.

Spitfire and Fleetfoot sure learned their lesson and stopped teasing her and in return, Fury didn't hang out with them as much as she wanted and decided to spend most of her break times with her friends instead of Soarin and others.

But even with all of those, there was a strong fight between Fury and Rainbow. But how? Well that's easy...

Instead of a simple thank you, Fury demanded that Rainbow has to go away and stop eating lunch with Soarin and her other friends.

At first, Soarin wanted to start another fight with her but Rainbow who was also tired of Fury's teasing, accepted to sit away from them and hang out with her old friends.

And that was it. BUT, No one, as in NO ONE dared to do such thing to Rainbow. If anyone did something like that, then she/he was totally dead. And Fury was no exception. Too bad that she was still Soarin's girlfriend. Otherwise, you couldn't have found a student named Fury in Canterlot High anymore.

But no matter how much they hated each other, there was always an unwritten rule that made Fury go to Rainbow whenever she had problem with Soarin and it was the exact same rule that made Rainbow defend Fury whenever it was needed and it was exactly because of that Rainbow was letting Fury drag her to Soarin's table.

Soarin still had his head in his hands and Spitfire and Fleetfoot were eating their lunch peacefully. As they got closer to the table, Rainbow noticed Spitfire huffing, probably due to seeing Fury. Fleetfoot who had seen Fury too, rolled her eyes. Few seconds later, Soarin who was frowning, sat upright. Clearly, Fleetfoot had signed him by kicking his legs.

Fury who saw all of them did nothing but sniffling few times but Rainbow frowned as she stopped in front of their table.

Soarin took a deep breath and tried to smile at Rainbow. "Hey!"

"Hey? HEY? HOW DARE YOU SAY HEY TO ME?" she said angrily. Then she sighed and continued talking in a sad voice, "Seriously Soarin, I'm tired of those idiotic fights," said Rainbow.

"I..." Soarin tried to speak but was quickly interrupted by Rainbow.

"I thought you promised me to be kind with her. Am I... not important for you anymore that you break my promise?"

"NO!" shouted Soarin. "Nononono. You're wrong. Rainbow let me explain Fury-" he said very quickly.

"No need to explain. Fury told everything to me," said Rainbow. "But Soarin, you could have warned her in a lower tone and kinder than that," she said with a smile. By the way, that smile didn't last too long and a sad expression was replaced instead. "You know... sometimes I can't understand how that kind, calm Soarin who was always famous for staying calm at hard times, turned to this Soarin that can't use his kindness on a girl."

"If I were a boy and Fury were my girlfriend, I would've acted the same," muttered Spitfire.

True that she just muttered but Rainbow's ear quickly caught that. She gasped and said, "Spitfire! Not you! I thought you'd always follow Soarin's decision. How... how could you?"

“Yes, I will follow Soarin’s decision but I will not follow my mom’s wrong decision,” said Spitfire with a frown.

“OK, everyone before things go further, END IT!” said Soarin. Then he looked at Rainbow with tired eyes and started to talk quickly, “I know that I did the wrong thing and stuff. So sorry Rainbow,”

Oh, that…

One of Soarin’s very bad behaviors was that. He never apologized a girl unless that girl was one of his friends and he knew that he did a real wrong work. But in Fury’s case, instead of apologizing her, he apologized Rainbow.

And that was the reason Rainbow huffed when Soarin was done speaking. “I’m not the one you should apologize. That’s another person. Now if everything’s done, I gotta go.”

Soarin only watched Rainbow as she started to walk toward cafeteria’s exit. He knew better than anyone that doing this took a lot energy from her and made her so tired that she needed to sit somewhere and sort her mind again.

Well, too bad that a group of curious girls were waiting for her out of cafeteria. By the way, this girl had a lot to explain about her other friends.
> 3-Untold Truths About Rainbow's Friends

     “So… where to start?” asked Rainbow as her friends and her sat down on a bench in the school yard.
“Hmm… let’s start from this: Who is Fury and I’m so sorry, but how the hell she became Soarin’s girlfriend?” asked Twilight. “I mean we already know that you two are blood enemies but I guess things don’t end here, right?”
“Yep, you’re totally right. For the ones who don’t know, Fury is the girl that claimed she’s a professional soccer player last year,” said Rainbow.
“You mean that not-so-pretty girl that played soccer with you and failed miserably?” asked Rarity.
“Yep, exactly the one.”
“Oooh, she was such a meanie!” exclaimed Pinkie with her tongue sticking out.
“She never meant to be the girl that Soarin fall for. All that happened was Soarin’s mom’s instant decision for finding a girlfriend for him. I have no idea why did she do such thing but… the first victim was me since our moms are best friends. My mom was so happy about it but both Soarin and I denied it. The last thing we wanted was our friendship to be broken.
“That was when her mom decided to choose someone else. Fury was next. Her mother is kinda Soarin’s mom’s boss. And what else a spoiled girl like Fury wants? She quickly accepted but that was probably the worst thing she did in her life. After that, the only thing that happened between Soarin and her were fights. Meanwhile, my job is defending Fury and making Soarin feel sorry,” said Rainbow with a sigh at the end.
“Oh… poor Soarin. I hate being forced to do something,” said Fluttershy softly. Everyone murmured some things like ‘yeah’ and ‘true’ and a heavy silence took over after that. Rainbow’s old friends knew almost a lot about her other friends. More than other students at least. But two groups hadn’t been in touch for a long time and it looked like a lot had changed ever since then.
The silence was broken with the sound of school bell. It showed that students had to go to their last class of day and then leave the school to home. “Guess you guys have chemistry class right now right?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Yeah but our teacher is sick today. We’re free,” answered Sunset.
“What do ya wanna do? Playin’ soccer as always?” Applejack asked Rainbow.
“Yeah. Actually, I have practice with team today but that probably won’t happen since more than half of the team is absent and the only members are Soarin, Spitfire, Fleetfoot and I so I guess I’m kinda free too,” answered Rainbow. “But I have to meet up with them anyway. Do you girls wanna come along?”
“Uh…” started Twilight but she was quickly interrupted as Sunset started speaking.
“Yeah, sure. Why not?”
“Then let’s move on!”
“I’m very, very, very sorry Sunset but what the heck?” said Twilight.
“Just you wait and see. I still haven’t got answer of all of my questions,” said Sunset. Twilight stared at her and blinked. Then she shrugged and started to follow girls to the gym.



“Iiiiiiiiin coooooooming!” shouted Fleetfoot as girls entered the gym.
“WATCH OUT!” shouted Spitfire. At that minute, girls noticed a soccer ball that fell out of nowhere was getting close them fast. But it didn’t take a long time as Rainbow jumped high and caught the ball masterfully.
“Wow…” said all of the girls in awe.
“Oh, hey Rainbow,” said Fleetfoot casually.
“You did realize that if Rainbow weren’t here we would have six broken heads right?” said Spitfire harshly and with a frown.
“Fine, sorry,” replied Fleet with a roll of eyes.
“Hey guys,” said Rainbow with a smile. “Where’s Soar?”
“Soarin not Soar,” said a voice from Rainbow’s behind. “And you’re lucky that I’m not making you call him Mr. Skies.”
Rainbow who frowned the first minute she heard her spoke through her gritted teeth, “I don’t think it’s any of your business.”
“But I think that it is my business since I’m his girlfriend and you aren’t,” she answered with so much pride that made Rainbow vomit. She always hated it when Fury recalled her wrong decision at choosing boyfriend. If Rainbow accepted, Soarin didn’t have to suffer her anymore. “You shouldn’t have been so idiot to miss such a golden opportunity. Only idiot girls decline being Soarin’s girlfriend.”
“Let me guess, Soarin had fought with you again?” said Rainbow after taking few deep breaths.
“GUESS WHAT? YES! HE DID. BECAUSE OF HIS IDIOT BEST FRIEND,” screamed Fury angrily. “I can’t believe that he said the worst thing he did was choosing me as his girlfriend.”
Spitfire frowned upon hearing this. “Well, looks like Soarin had said the right thing for once.”
“HOW DARE YOU? YOU REALLY THINK THAT THIS IDIOT COLORFUL CAN MAKE A BETTER GIRLFRIEND?” shouted Fury.
“All she wanted to do was keeping our friendship. You have no right to blame her,” said Soarin as he placed a hand on Rainbow’s shoulder. “You know what? We’re through.”
“But Soarin…”
“No Rainbow, I won’t let you do anything this time.”
“But you can’t break up with her.”
“What?”
“Your mom. Did you think of that?” said Rainbow as she stared at his eyes.
“Oh…” whispered Soarin. “I… gotta go.” He quickly turned away and started walking toward benches with a big frown.
“Soarin, wait!” called Rainbow as she started running after him.
“Great, now everything’s complicated,” murmured Spitfire with a frown. Nothing was good. Nothing.



“GUESS WHAT? YES! HE DID. BECAUSE OF HIS IDIOT BEST FRIEND,” screamed Fury angrily.
“AAH! A FIGHT IS HAPPENING!” screamed Pinkie with a grin.
“Then why are you grinning?” asked Twilight.
“Come on Twily! Who doesn’t like fights,” replied Pinkie happily.
Fluttershy shivered in fear and squeaked, “I don’t.”
“I don’t either,” exclaimed Twilight. “I’m a peace lover.”
“But I still hadn’t got answer of any of my questions,” said Sunset.
“What questions?” asked Applejack.
“I’d come here to ask some questions about Rainbow’s friends and get some answers you know,” answered Sunset.
“Well, I’m sure that boy who’s staring at the fight can definitely answer you,” said Rarity as she pointed to a blue haired boy who was watching the whole fight from the benches in the gym.
“That’s Flash!” announced Twilight excitedly.
Sunset stared at Twilight with a raised eyebrow. “So what?”
“Nothing, nothing. I didn’t say anything,” said Twilight quickly and pretended like she didn’t care.
“That’s why he can answer our questions. He’s Soarin’s best friend,” explained Rarity.
“Then what are ya waitin’ for?” said Applejack. No one answered. Instead, everybody started walking to benches without a word.
“Hey Flash,” said Twilight with a smile as she and her friends sat there.
“Oh hey Twilight. Hey girls,” answered Flash with a friendly smile.
“Such a bad fight right?” asked Twilight with an awkward chuckle.
“Yeah. A bad one. I’ve never seen neither Fury nor Soarin this angry,” he said as he stared at the group in front of him.
“Don’t you wanna go and help your friend?” asked Twilight.
“I want to but… I’m not so good at girl problems,” answered Flash.
“I bet you can be good at that too,” replied Twilight with a dreamy sigh.
“Twilight I recommend you should shut up. This conversation isn’t going anywhere,” whispered Sunset at Twilight’s ear and made her glare angrily at Sunset. “So speaking of your friend… you must know a lot about him?” said Sunset as she tried to open up another conversation.
“Yeah, almost everything. Why?”
“Well since we’re Rainbow’s friends, we’re Soarin’s friends too but we don’t understand some things that’s happening.”
“Like what?”
“For example, I don’t understand why Fury? Isn’t Spitfire his friend? She’s much nicer than Fury and closer to Soarin’s mom. Then why she isn’t his girlfriend? Spitfire and Soarin were together since the day they entered school.”
“Then I guess that you don’t one of the important things in Soarin’s life. Spitfire isn’t only Soarin’s friend. She’s his sister. His actual, blood sister. That’s why they have been together ever since they entered the school,” explained Flash.
“Oooh!” said girls in union as a sign of understanding.
“Well that explains a lot of things…” mumbled Twilight.
“Isn’t a way to get free of that idiot girl?” said Applejack.
“There is,” said a voice from girls beneath.
“AAAH!” girls screamed in fear.
“Oh it’s you Spity!” announced Pinkie happily.
“Yeah. So as I was saying, there is a way and that is convincing my mom,” said Spitfire.
“You do know that Ms. Cloud won’t be convinced this easily. Right?” mentioned Flash.
“I know. But if Soarin fall in love with someone else, my mom will definitely accept,” answered Spitfire.
“Ya know that ya can’t make two him fall in love with someone right?” asked Applejack.
“I know. We just need to make him realize that his feelings for Rainbow aren’t the ones two friends share. I can swear that these two are in love. They’re just too idiot to understand it,” explained Spitfire.
“That’ll take a long time. It won’t happen any time soon. At least not before Hearts & Hooves week,” said a girl from their top.
“AAAH!” girls yelped as they heard the voice.
“Oops, I forgot to say that I’m here,” said girl with an apologetic smile.
“Who… are you?” asked Twilight with wide eyes.
“Hey, I know you! Aren’t you the girl in my music class? The one with the great voice?” asked Sunset.
“Yep, I am. My name is Bluey Shine,” she said with a smile.
“So you’ve been listening the whole time?” asked Spitfire.
Bluey shrugged. “Yeah, so what? I like romance and matchmaking. You were talking about both of them. Can anything be better than that?”
“NOTHING! Right?” replied Rarity with excitement.
“Anyway, back to the topic, it’s not gonna happen before Hearts & Hooves week right?” asked Bluey.
“Not only before Hearts & Hooves Day but also not before Hearts & Hooves party,” answered Twilight.
“And there’s no way to increase its speed,” continued Flash.
“Because neither Soarin nor Rainbow wanna accept their feelings,” said Fluttershy in her soft voice.
Sunset spoke and scanned her friends there. “Looks like we all got a long way to go.”



“I’m sorry,” said Rainbow as she placed her hand on her friends shoulder. “I wish things weren’t like this.”
Suddenly, she gasped and her eyes went wide. Its reason was that a boy, who was none other than Soarin, had hugged her tightly.
Never in her life she’d let a boy hug her. Well… except from her brother and father but even Soarin who was her best hadn’t done that. He knew well that it’s one of the things she really hates. But at that moment…
“Soarin!” she whispered with disbelief.
“Please Rainbow. Let me hug you for a while. Please. I know that you really hate it but I need one right now…” he pleaded.
There was no answer from her. No answer but a pair of soft, girlish arms that wrapped around his shoulders. He smiled as he felt the girl in his arms squeezed him harder. He always knew that a hug from her would definitely brighten up his day but he knew well that she hates it when a boy touches her let alone hugging. But at that moment, all Soarin felt was pure relaxation and happiness that wash over him.
And Rainbow… she’d definitely lied if she say that she didn’t like the hug. It was something more than liking it. It was… wonderful. She could just smack herself for not trying this before. Had she known it felt so magnificent, she would have hugged Soarin every single day…
Wait a second…
WHAT?! Nonononono. NO.
She shouldn’t have felt like this. Between Soarin and Rainbow was only friendship and nothing else. THERE COULDN’T BE ANYTHING ELSE BETWEEN THEM. But… why did this damn hug felt so amazing? Were… her feelings changing about him?
‘C’mon girl. Don’t make it a huge thing. It’s just relaxation that you’re feeling,’ said Rainbow to herself.
“Thanks,” whispered Soarin in her ear.
She blushed lightly and answered, “You’re welcome.” They slowly parted and Rainbow sighed as she felt warmness of Soarin leaving her.
“Sometimes… I wish I could fall in love with a girl cause this is the only way that my mom will let go of Fury,” said Soarin with a sigh.
“Who knows? Maybe you are in love and you don’t know,” replied Rainbow with a grin.
Soarin chuckled. “Yeah, but who?”
“Wait… are you really in love?” asked Rainbow with disbelief.
“Probably no.”
“If… you could choose a girl to fall in love with, who would you choose?” asked Rainbow suddenly.
Soarin stood up and smiled at her. “Thanks for making me feel better.”
“Hey, don’t think that I didn’t realize you didn’t answer me,” said Rainbow with crossed arms and fake frown.
He chuckled. “If it were up to me to choose a love for myself…” he said before walking away but at the last seconds Rainbow clearly heard him saying, “… I would have chosen you…”
> 4-Hearts & Hooves Week Begins!

     “WHAT AM I GONNA DO NOW?” yelled Rainbow with frustration. “I can’t look at him anymore.”
“Darling, just go and talk to him. I’m sure nothing will happen,” answered Rarity.
“Anyways, it was your fault for asking him that question you know,” explained Sunset.
“You did realize you’re not helping right?” exclaimed Rainbow.
Sunset shrugged. “Yeah, so what?”
In the answer, Rainbow couldn’t do anything but roll her eyes. “Anyways, why are we standing here for like, five minutes?”
“If yer not thinkin’ about that boyfriend of yers, ah told ya a thousand times that we’re waitin’ for Twi ta come outta students’ council meetin’,” Applejack said to Rainbow with a smirk.
“HEY! I already told you that HE’S. ONLY. MY. FRIEND,” replied Rainbow angrily.
“Yeah, whatever,” muttered Applejack.
“One day you’re gonna get what I said AJ. Just wait,” said Rainbow.
“Does anyone need cupcakes?” asked Pinkie suddenly. She had a tray full of cupcakes while she was munching on one.
“Um… weren’t you here just a second ago?” asked Fluttershy.
“Uh-oh,” muttered Rarity under her breath.
Pinkie took a deep breath and started talking crazy, “Yeah, but then my stomach growled and I was like, ‘Aww, it must be hungry’ and I didn’t want to miss this super duper fun conversation so I ran fast to kitchen and brought this huge, yummy tray of cupcakes so my stomach could get something and listen to you girls and- OH HEY TWILIGHT!”
“Hey girls,” she answered with a smile. “Guess what? I have good news and bad news.”
“Ooh! Ooh! Guessing game! Guessing game!” said Pinkie excitedly.
“No Pinks. Not now. JUST SPIT IT OUT TWI!” said Rainbow quickly.
“Okay, okay, calm down. First, I’ll give you the bad news,” announced Twilight. “The first bad news is… that king and queen choosing of this year will be sooner. At the Hearts & Hooves celebration actually. This means, this years’ celebration isn’t only Hearts & Hooves celebration. IT’S KING AND QUEEN HEARTS & HOOVES CELEBRATION! Or as what I like to call it, K.A.Q.H.H. celebration. It does look a bit long but it’s much better than saying it fully.”
“But… but…” mumbled Rainbow. “How? I mean, I did expect it to be sooner this year but not THIS soon. Still, the good thing is that they hadn’t chose the king and queen yet.”
“Actually… as my second bad news I have to announce that since there’s only a week till the celebration students’ council chose the king and queen. That means that they’re chosen now,” announced Twilight. Suddenly she gasped and her sparkled like a light was turned on in her eyes. “GUESS WHO’S THE QUEEN?”
“Aren’t you suppose to keep it till the celebrations?” asked Fluttershy.
“Well, no. Council members have to tell the king and queen so they can prepare. Principal Celestia said that it’s because once a queen didn’t know how to slow dance and embarrassed herself in front of whole school.”
“So when you’re putting it that way, it means that queen is one of us. Right?” asked Sunset.
“Well, of course!”
“And since this year none of us signed in for the king and queen competition, then it can be only one person,” said Applejack. With this, everyone turned to Rainbow and stared at her.
“No way…” said Rainbow in disbelief.
“Yes way,” replied Twilight with a grin and an eager nod.
“YES!” she shouted as she jumped up and down excitedly. “I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! IT’S ALL BECAUSE I’M. SO. AWESOOOOOME!”
All of the girls chuckled and rolled their eyes as they watched their friend’s excitement.
Finally Rainbow ended jumping up and down and calmed down a bit but excitement was still written all over her face. “So who’s the king anyway?”
“Nononono. Don’t make me say it cause I won’t. King and queen won’t know their partners till the day of celebration,” said Twilight.
“But what if her partner turn out to be an ugly, freaky boy?” asked Rarity worriedly.
“First, Rarity his not gonna be your partner,” stated Twilight. “Second, don’t you worry he’s one of the most handsome boys here!” said Twilight with a wink. “However, we gotta get moving or we’ll miss the wonderful math class!” she said as she started walking before them. Behind her, her friends stuck their tongues out and made faces when they heard the word ‘math’.
It was sure gonna be a long hour for all of them…



“You sure you don’t have any problem with this?” Twilight asked the girl beside her.
“Yep, I’m sure,” answered the girl with blue hair.
“You sure you can do the music AND help me?” Sunset asked her.
“Yep, I’m sure,” Bluey answered again. “Yep, I’m sure.”
“But we didn’t ask you anything,” said Twilight as she tried to figure out the reason she said ‘yep, I’m sure’ twice.
She shrugged. “Just felt that it should be said another time,” she said in a serious tone. Sunset and Twilight chuckled mostly because of her serious tone. She too, smiled and giggled at her little joke.
“Do you exactly know what to do for choosing music?” asked Twilight.
“Of course I do. Why would I choose it if I couldn’t do it?”
“What about school works?”
“I heard that teachers won’t take it hard on the students who are a part of celebration planning.”
“Yeah, that’s true but… what about your friends?” asked Twilight.
“I… don’t have so much friends,” Bluey replied sadly.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” whispered Sunset.
Bluey quickly cheered up and smiled happily. “Don’t be. I have my dreams. They’re always with me,” she replied happily. Then she chuckled awkwardly as she discovered the weird looks that two other girls were giving her. “Heh, heh. Don’t ask.”
“I sure won’t…” answered Twilight. “So what are you and Sunset up to? Helping her? In what?”
“MAKING CHOCLATES!” shouted Bluey quickly.
“Yeah, making chocolates. For… um… Hearts & Hooves week! You know it has a lot of clients,” continued Sunset with a huge grin.
“Oooh! Really? Can I get one? I’ll pay for it later,” said Twilight.
“Yeah, sure you can get one. And no need for paying. Accept it as a gift,” said Sunset.
“Sooo, who’s the lucky guy?” asked Bluey with a wink.
“Wha... NO ONE!” Twilight answered quickly and with a light pink blush on her face.
“Oh come on! Isn’t it obvious?” stated Sunset with a smirk that only made Twilight’s blush redder.
“Twilight! Look ou-” said Bluey suddenly but it was too late since a big thud was heard and Twilight and another student fell to the floor. Her books were all over the floor, around her and she was rubbing her head right the place that was hit by the other students.
“Oh! My books!” exclaimed Twilight as she saw her books wide open at the floor.
“Bookworm,” mumbled Sunset with a roll of eyes. 
Twilight started picking up the books that had been fallen to the floor just like what the other student did. She was about to pick her math book off the floor when a hand came toward it too and placed right above Twilight’s hand. Twilight flushed as she quickly recognized the hand that was touching her.
“Oh hey!” said the owner of voice happily.
Twilight raised her head and within a second she was lost in a pair of dark blue eyes. “Oh, hey Flash!” she said dreamily.
“Here are your books,” he said as he handed the books to its owner with a friendly smile. “Sorry for bumping into you.”
“What? Oh no. I’m the one that should apologize. Sorry.”
“By the way, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I am. It was just a simple fall. Nothing else,” said Twilight with an awkward chuckle.
“Here. Let me help you,” exclaimed Flash as he extended his hand for her. She stared at it for a few seconds then she put her hand on his and he lifted her up carefully.
“Thanks,” whispered Twilight as she stared at Flash’s eyes with a smile.
“It was nothing,” he replied. “By the way, we REALLY gotta stop bumping into each other,” he said with a chuckle and then he started walking away.
“I think I clearly got who’s the guy,” said Bluey with a giggle.
“Ooooh God! I think it was the thousandth time I bumped into him,” said Twilight with a blush.
“Eleven,” said Sunset.
“Huh?”
“You bumped into him eleven times. With this time, it’ll be the twelve times you did. Well, twelve times in front of me. Who knows how much more the other times!” said Sunset.
Twilight covered her face and said, “Oh that’s bad. That’s bad. THAT’S REALLY, REALLY BAD!”
“C’mon. You just bumped into him like… a bumper car!” said Bluey.
“A… bumper car? WELL THAT’LL ONLY MAKE IT TEN TIMES WORSE THAN WHAT IT ALREADY IS!” screamed Twilight.
“Calm down girl. There’s nothing to be stressed about. I’m sure he shares the same feelings you have to him,” said Sunset as she tried to comfort her.
“After seeing his expression, I can say the same thing,” said Bluey.
“Really?” asked Twilight with a hopeful tone.
“Yeah, sure. But now Bluey and I should go. We have a lot more things to do. Right Blues?” said Sunset.
Bluey frowned. “Never call me that again. I hate it when people call me that. And in that case, yes. We do have a lot things to do.”
“It’s okay guys. I have things to do too. See you later,” said Twilight with a smile. Then she waved her hand at her friends and start walking to her locker.
Tomorrow was going to be an interesting day and Twilight and a lot more students were excited. From tomorrow till a whole week, students could have a lot of fun in the time of love. Because, anyways, tomorrow was none other than start of Hearts & Hooves week.

     “Ooooh! I’m so excited!” said Sunset excitedly. “Not only is today start of Hearts & Hooves week, but also is start of my exper-”
“Shhh! Do you wanna spoil everything?” said Bluey quickly.
“Oh, right,” said Sunset with a chuckle.
“Let’s look at it this way, we have four chocolate deliveries for Hearts and Hooves gifts. And it’s only that,” said Bluey.
“Hmm, well it is a way to look at it. And it’s better than anything. At least we’re not lying,” stated Sunset.
“HEY GUYS!” shouted a voice from their behind.
Bluey flinched as she heard the voice and turned around with wide eyes but Sunset only answered, “Good morning Pinkie.”
“Oooh! Oooh! Is that chocolate you girls have?” she asked excitedly as she saw four boxes in Sunset and Bluey’s hands.
“Yeah, it is. But we can’t give them to you,” replied Sunset as she saw the eager look on her friend’s face. “We have to deliver them to their owners.”
“Aww… too bad. But their owners must be super lucky,” said Pinkie at first with a sad voice and then with her always cheerful voice.
“Yeah, super lucky,” replied Sunset with an evil smirk. Bluey frowned and quickly kicked her foot. Sunset quickly got the message and with a cough turned serious again. “Anyways, as I told you, we have to give this to their owners so bye for now.”
“Okie, dockie, lookie! Bye for now,” said Pinkie as she started bouncing away.
“Whew, it was a close one,” said Bluey as she saw Pinkie fading from her view.
“Yep. So now what?” exclaimed Sunset.
“Well, we’ll only stick to the plan. I’ll go to girls…” said Bluey.
“… and I’ll go to boys,” continued Sunset with a sad face. “Can’t you change yours with me?”
“Let me think…” said Bluey. Then she grinned and looked at Sunset. “Um… no.”
“Aww…”
“C’mon! Live it up! Weren’t you excited a minute ago?”
Sunset’s face quickly lit up as she remembered her previous excitement. “YEEEES!”
“Then let’s go!”



“Am I really gonna do that?” asked Soarin worriedly.
“Yes, you’re gonna do that,” answered Spitfire.
“But no. I won’t do that.”
“Okay, so don’t.”
“So much of the big sister support. You’re not helping AT ALL. You did realize that right?” said Soarin flatly.
“Yep, I did,” she answered indifferently.
“So shut up at least at let me think,” stated Soarin. Then he closed his eyes tightly and started ‘thinking’. “I’LL DO IT! No, I won’t. But wait… maybe I’ll do it. Nonono. I CAN’T! But…”
“If you’re done ‘thinking’,”-said Spitfire with a roll of eyes- “It wouldn’t hurt if you shut up and listen up to your sister for once. If you really, truly care for her, if you wanna see her smile, if you get happy with her smile… then do it and don’t waste even a second.”
Soarin who was holding his head in his hands to think lift it up and stared at his sister. “Okay… I’ll do it. And this time it’s for sure.”
“Then go ahead. We’ve been standing in front of her locker for like… ten minutes or so. Other students are getting suspicious. Quick!” she said quickly.
He turned his head around and checked their spot. They were in one of school halls, right in front of Rainbow’s locker. In front of her locker was a stack of gifts, chocolate boxes and flowers.
‘Whoa, she sure has a lot of lovers,’ thought Soarin. With a punch from his sister he came back to reality and quickly started his job with the string he had in his hands. He put the string in the lock of the locker and tried to open the locker with that. After working for a minute or two, locker opened with a click sound.
Spitfire whistled upon seeing the little show. “You sure have a wonderful talent of rubbery!”
He looked at her with crossed arms and raised eyebrow and said, “Again, thank you for your very deep sisterly feelings.”
“You’re welcome,” she answered with a smirk. “NOW DO IT ALREADY!”
Soarin rolled his eyes and grabbed the items that her sister was holding and placed every single of them in the locker. A big heart shaped box, a card that had his name on it and finally, a very beautiful and of course expensive rainbow rose. They were the things that were laying in her locker.
“I never found out where did you get that chocolate anyway?” asked Spitfire suddenly.
“Oh that? Well I was lucky enough and saw Sunset Shimmer yesterday. She said that she’ll be selling chocolates for Hearts & Hooves week so I bought one. It’s much better than buying it from store. At least I didn’t forget to bring it since she gave it to me just today,” explained Soarin as he locked the locker again.
“RAINBOW ROSES ARE BEAUTIFUL!” shouted Fleetfoot from down the hall.
“Uh-oh,” said Spitfire. “Fleetfoot signaled. Someone’s coming this way. C’mon Soar! Hurry!”
“I’m done. Let’s go,” he said as he started walking to where Fleetfoot was staring at them nervously.
“We’re going to your locker right?” asked Spitfire.
“Yeah. Why?”
“I guess it’s time to see if number of Fury’s gifts are as much other girls or is just equals. We all know that it’s never less!”
Soarin only chuckled and walked along his sister to his locker. Fortunately, they didn’t have to go a long way. All they had to do was turning a corner.
Unfortunately, huge surprises were waiting for him there… or maybe fortunately?



“Ya sure ya can do it?” asked Applejack as she glanced at her rainbow haired friend.
“AHEM! This is Rainbow Dash you’re talking about. Of course I can,” said Rainbow as she tried to open the locker with a string she had in her hand. “Now, I need concentration so be quiet.”
“Fine. Let’s see where does this go,” replied Applejack with a huff. Soon, she was bored of standing there quiet so she started scanning the place. Rainbow Dash and she were at the middle of schools hallway, in front of Soarin’s locker.
Applejack stared at Rainbow who was working hardly on the locker. She did try telling her doing this is wrong but she paid no attention and there they were. All Applejack wanted to do was showing Rainbow that she’ll finally get in trouble.
On the other side, Rainbow was trying her best to open the locker. She had done it on her brother’s room when he didn’t let her in because of his angriness at her. At those times, she opened the locker with a string and entered. Then she stayed there until her brother and she became friends.
But she had never did this in any kind of locker. So working on schools locks was something new for her. In fact, for her, it was a challenge and when did Rainbow turned a challenge down? It wasn’t going to happen this time either.
“What are you doing?” someone whispered in Rainbow’s ear.
Rainbow gasped and quickly lifted her head but her scared face quickly turned to an angry one as she recognized the owner of voice. “Rapid! What the hell?”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, watch your language sis,” he said with a grin. Yeah… it was true. Rainbow’s brother who was ready to support her anywhere was none other than Rapid Fire. At the first look no one thought this brother and sister would actually ‘support’ each other due to their fights but when hard times arrive everything change and anyone can see their love for each other.
However, since hard times hadn’t arrived yet, Rainbow glared at him and continued her job. “I didn’t hear an answer. What are you doing?” asked Rapid again.
“I don’t think it’s any of your business,” answered Rainbow flatly.
“C’mon. I already apologized for… that,” said Rapid.
“Just go away. Someone will get over protective when he hear what I’m doing,” replied Rainbow with a small frown.
“Fine. Don’t say anything. It’s already obvious that you’re trying to open Soarin’s locker to place his Hearts & Hooves gift there,” said Rapid with a grin. Suddenly, Rainbow groaned and stared at him with a hard glare. “Someone’s calling me. Bye!” he said quickly as he saw the look in her sister’s face. After saying that, he ran away and got out of her sight as soon as he could.
She only rolled her eyes and worked harder until a short ‘click’ was heard and locker opened. “YES!” she shouted happily.
“Hurry up. We don’t so much time. That boyfriend of yers can be here in any second,” said Applejack.
“I told you. WE’RE. ONLY. FRIENDS!” said Rainbow. “But since it’s not important now, gimme those things.” She didn’t even wait for a response and grabbed the item in Applejack’s hands right away. Then she placed them in the locker and looked at her job. A heart shaped box, a card and another box in smaller size and with a bow tie on it. “Done. Let’s go.”
“I LOVE CHERRYCHANGAS!” shouted Pinkie from down the hall.
“It’s Pinkie’s signal. Someone familiar’s comin’ this way. Hurry girl,” said Applejack quickly.
“Fine, fine, let’s go.”
“I said, I LOVE CHERRYCHANGAS!” screamed Pinkie again.
“But I love cupcakes more than that,” said Rainbow to Pinkie. It was another sign which meant, ‘We’re done working’. “Who’s coming here?” whispered Rainbow as Applejack and she stood next to Pinkie.
“That meanie Fury,” answered Pinkie with a stuck out tongue.
“Then we gotta hurry. We all know what an idiot she can be,” said Applejack with a frown.
“NO WAIT!” shouted Pinkie suddenly. “I feel a twitch. It’s my Pinkie sense. It’s saying that… SOMEONE’S TRYING TO OPEN DASHIE’S LOCKER!” screamed Pinkie.
“We REALLY gotta go now,” said Rainbow as she started to walk fast to where her locker was. Fortunately, it wasn’t too far away from Soarin’s locker. All she had to do was turning a corner and then she would be at her locker soon.
“RAINBOW ROSES ARE BEAUTIFUL!” shouted Fleetfoot as she saw Rainbow and her friends getting close to there.
“Huh?” said Rainbow with a confused face. “Did you lose your mind or anything Fleet?”
Fleetfoot chuckled awkwardly. “Whaaaat? Of course no. I was just… saying my opinion about rainbow roses. Don’t you think they’re beautiful?”
“Uh… yeah, I guess,” answered Rainbow with as she looked weirdly at Fleetfoot who was grinning from ear to ear. “Anyway, we gotta go. I have to check my locker.”
“Oh, really? Why?”
“Because I have to,” stated Rainbow flatly. Then a little frown appeared on her face as she said, “Wait a second…” Fleetfoot’s eyes went wide just as she heard those simple words. “… Why are you so weird today?”
“Weird? Me? Nooo,” said Fleetfoot. “Didn’t you want to go?”
“Oh, right. Bye for now,” said Rainbow as she started walking to the corner. She was about to turn the corner when someone walked into her and they bumped into each other.
“Whoa!”
“Ouch!”
A hand wrapped around Rainbow and prevented her from falling. “Hey Rainbow,” said the owner of hand.
Rainbow who had closed her eyes uncontrollably opened them and stared at the pair of grey eyes that were sparkling at her. She smiled and answered, “Oh hello Dark Night.” Then she stood upright again.
Dark Night… he was a stalker. Well, not completely. He was actually nice and just seemed to be so in love with Rainbow. But Rainbow never cared about him and deep in her heart hated him. But since he’d never did anything bad to her, she couldn’t be rude to him.
The real problem wasn’t that. It was that whenever Rainbow saw this guy, Soarin was with her and he would never ever let him say a word wrong. She never thought that one day she has to deal with him alone cause no matter how nice he looked, he was a true pain.
“Oh! Now that you’re here, I was wondering… if you can be my date for the celebration?” he asked politely and with a smile.
There she go… “No,” said a voice from her behind. Rainbow quickly turned around and saw the person who talked. She grinned as she saw her friend standing there but Dark Night sure didn’t do the same. He frowned as he saw Soarin frowning back at him.
“You…” muttered Dark Night. “You can’t decide for her you know,” he said calmly.
“Yes, he can’t,” Rainbow spoke up suddenly. Soarin’s eyes went wide just as he heard her. On the other side, a winning smile formed on Dark Night’s lips. She didn’t pay attention to any of them, she just walked to Soarin and stood next to him. “But he can when I don’t want either,” she said with a cold tone to Dark Night. “And if you excuse me now, I have a job to do.”
She didn’t wait for any answer or response. She just grabbed her friends’ wrist and started heading to where she was few minutes ago.
“Wow girl, ya did well,” commented Applejack as they arrived in front of Rainbow’s locker. “Ah can’t believe this idiot is still after ya. Ah mean, ah thought that he already knew ya have a boyfriend. Although it’s not true.”
“Yeah. I thought the same but it looks like he has more courage than what we thought,” said Rainbow.
“Aww… this means that another meanie is added to my list of meanies,” said Pinkie.
“What list?” asked Applejack.
“THIS list,” answered Pinkie as she pulled a long scroll out from her bag pack and showed it to her.
“Ah don’t even wanna know…” said Applejack as she scanned the long scroll.
“However, we’re here,” said Rainbow. “With… a huge pile of flowers and chocolates and gifts.”
“Flowers go in mom’s little garden as always. I’ll get the gifts for myself and… you know what happens to the chocolates!” said a voice from Rainbow’s behind.
“Look who’s here. Mr. Bug,” said Rainbow with a frown.
Rapid Fire who was talking with a grin on his face pouted as he heard what she said. “Aw come on girl! What else should I do to be friend with you again?” Rainbow glared at him and turned her head away from him. He did nothing but sigh. “Too bad, I wanted to give this to you when we were friends again but here you go,” he said as he hold a box in his hands. Rainbow’s attention was quickly drawn to him as he said the words. She grinned and grabbed the box right away. “Happy Hearts & Hooves Week lil’ sis!”
She didn’t wait for anything or anybody. She didn’t even response. She just tore up the wrapping as soon as it was placed in her hands. “YOU’RE AWESOME!” shouted Rainbow happily as she grinned at the mp3 player that were laying in her hands.
“I know, I know, no need for telling me every day,” he answered as he bowed to the fake crowd. When he opened his eyes, he was met with Rainbow’s raised eyebrow. That was always a warning to him so he quickly added, “Never mind. By the way, are we...”
“Fine, friends again,” continued Rainbow with a smile. Then she grinned excitedly and continued, “Are we gonna do the mix-up this year too?”
“Just like last years,” he answered with a grin.
“Aren’t ya gonna open that locker?” asked Applejack.
“Riiiight! We’ve been here for this the whole time,” said Rainbow in realization. She reached for her keys that were in her pocket and opened her locker with it. Rapid and Rainbow’s friends could see Rainbow as her eyes grew wider and wider as she stared at her locker, or rather the items in her locker.
“Wow, they’re soooo pretty!” said Pinkie happily.
“I… know,” answered Rainbow with a little smile. She extended her hand and grabbed the card that was before the other items. Then she opened the card and started reading it:

“Ooh! Looks like someone got a love letter,” said Pinkie in a singy song voice.
“And her boyfriend’s tryin’ to get her outta her shell,” continued Applejack with a wink.
“WHAT? Stop it guys. How many times do I have to repeat it? WE’RE. ONLY. FRIENDS.”
“We’re only friends but I wish we were moooore!” said Rapid dramatically.
“Aaaaand, we have a new member to our SoarinDash shipper group!” said Pinkie with a grin.
“To our what group?” asked Applejack as she gave Pinkie a weird look.
“Forget it. It’s higher than your apprehension,” she replied as she looked at them with a sorry look.
“Well, that pretty flower shows that even if you don’t love him like THAT, he does. Guys don’t buy super expensive flowers for a random girl and for no specific reason,” he said and grabbed the rainbow rose.
“C’mon. Don’t say nonsense. Of course I’m not just an ordinary girl to him. I’m his best friend by the way.”
“I don’t know. But usually guys don’t do it for their friend who’s a girl. They more do it for they’re girlfriends.”
“But skipping that, those chocolates does look tasty,” said Pinkie as she drowned at the sight of chocolate box.
“Don’t even think of sharing it with you cause I won’t,” said Rainbow as she hide the box behind her.
“She’s right Pinks. She doesn’t wanna share her loves gift with anyone!” said Applejack teasingly and with a wink.
“HEY!” shouted Rainbow. “WE’RE. JUST. FRIENDS!” she screamed with a frown. “Why should I even care about you? It’s mine and I won’t share it with anyone else.” She opened and stared at the delicious looking chocolates. She smiled and stuffed three of them in her mouth and munched happily on them.



“Hmm… I don’t why I feel like someone had done what I did for myself…” muttered Soarin as Spitfire and he started making their way to his locker.
“Which one? You’d done a lot of crap you know,” said Spitfire with a chuckle.
He rolled his eyes. “Those gift things.”
“I’m not gonna answer this one. Cause it’s already obvious. I won’t be surprised if someone actually did that,” answered Spitfire impatiently.
“Yeah,” mumbled Soarin as he reached for his keys in his pocket. Then he opened the locker with them.
Suddenly someone gasped from their behind. “That’s awesome!”
“Some manners Fleet. Some manners,” said Spitfire with a roll of eyes. Then both of them stared at Soarin who was reading a card in his hands. Fleetfoot and Spitfire both stared at the card along with Soarin and started reading it with him:

“Aww, looks like she’s really in love with you. She sent you a love letter!” commented Fleet.
“First, I think we talked about it Fleet. Second, it’s just a friendly letter. What part of it is similar to a love letter?” said Soarin.
“First, fiiiiine! Second, don’t you so those cute little hearts? And that gift?” said Fleetfoot.
“I know that I promised that I won’t talk about it again but I REALLY agree with Fleet on this one,” said Spitfire with a smile.
“I’ll open up this gift to prove both of you that she’s only being my best friend,” said Soarin confidently.
“We’ll see,” said Spitfire.
“Fine, we’ll see,” answered Soarin as he started opening the gift already. Few seconds later, the gift was opened and all that was left in Soarin’s hands was a little sculpture of himself as he was holding a card that was saying, ‘Me and You 4ever!’
“HA!” shouted Fleetfoot. “Told ya.”
“Well looks like this time things didn’t go as you wanted,” said Spitfire with a wink.    
“Let’s end this thing fine? Instead, look at those awesome chocolates! I’m really starving,” said Soarin as he tried to change the topic. And it looked like he was successful.
“And I assume that you don’t wanna share it right?” asked Fleetfoot as she stared at the box hungrily.
Soarin grinned. “As your answer, I gotta say; no way,” He grabbed the box and opened it immediately. He didn’t know if it was his stomach taking over or it was the excitement he had in himself. All he knew was that within five seconds he was munching on three chocolates happily.



Twilight smiled happily and walked up to her locker. She had a good feeling about the day. She didn’t know the reason, it more liked that her sixth sense was nagging on her and telling her that the day was just going to be a wonderful one.
She opened her locker to place her books inside when the sight before her made her froze in the place. A heart shaped box, a card and a small gift. She sure didn’t expect this. Usually no one was into her and if anyone was, he gave the gift to him personally. This guy must have been either shy or just wanted to be super mysterious.
However, Twilight grabbed the card and started reading it:


Dear Twilight,
This is the first time I’m sending this kind of letter to you and to anyone else. I’m not trying to be a mysterious, interrupting boy. All I was going to do was wishing you a happy Hearts & Hooves week.

“Wow,” mumbled Twilight. She never ever expected that Flash would write her a letter and the beginning of Hearts & Hooves week. By the way, he was one of the most famous boys in the entire school. Just as his friend, Soarin, he had quite a lot of fangirls.
She blushed as a girly thought entered her head, ‘He had chosen me among all of those girls,’ she thought as she let out a happy sigh. Few seconds later, she regained her composure and placed the gift in her bag pack. 
She didn’t have much time till her next class. She had to open it at another time. Probably after school. But she did open the chocolate box. She was in rush for coming to school and she hadn’t ate much. A chocolate could help her spend the first class easier.
Twilight’s eyes drifted to chocolates that were glimmering from the light that was coming through the windows above her. She picked one and opened her mouth to eat it when suddenly a thought struck her head.
Sunset had given him those chocolates. She knew because she had taken one from her. She too was going to give it to Flash. She shrugged as this thought came to her head, ‘It’s not like there’s some kind of weird potion in this.’
A minute later, all that was left of the chocolate was a little circle due to Twilight’s shoe. From the way Twilight was running away, it was visible that her sixth sense wasn’t right that day.

     “Does any of you know what has gotten into Rainbow?” asked Rarity as she glanced at Rainbow who seemed to be smiling at nothing.
“Did anything happened to her?” asked Fluttershy worriedly.
“Don’t cha see? She’s been sighin’ and smilin’ at nothing since we got here,” answered Applejack. 
“And not only this, it seems like she’d gotten deaf. She can’t hear us. She’s completely out of space!” added Rarity.
“Let me try,” said Pinkie. “Hey, Rainbow? Rainbow? Rainbow Dash? Dash? Dashie? RAINBOW DASH!”
“Did you call me?” said Rainbow finally.
“Wha…” was all Sunset could let out.
“What happened ta ya? Did ya fall in love or somethin’?” asked Applejack.
“I… guess,” replied Rainbow with a happy sigh.
“WHAT?” shouted all of the girls at once.
“Wow! I sure didn’t expect that!” stated Pinkie with a confused look.
“But… how? Who? Where?” asked Twilight.
“I’m still not sure but I’ve been like this since yesterday. I just… can’t get this guy out of my head,” explained Rainbow.
“Who’s the lucky guy anyway?” asked Rarity with a wink.
Another happy sigh escaped Rainbow’s mouth as she heard Rarity’s question. Then she smiled and answered her dreamily, “I think it’s Soarin…”
“At least ya won’t yell that ya two are only friends anymore,” exclaimed Applejack with a roll of eyes.
“So… are you really, truly in love?” asked Sunset somewhat eagerly. 
“How many times should I said this?” said Rainbow with a frown. But her expression quickly changed to a dreamy one as she continued, “Of course I am.”
“YEEEEES!” screamed Sunset happily. Then she started jumping up and down excitedly as she kept repeating, “Yesyesyesyesyes!”
“Ahem...” Sunset quickly turned her head to Twilight who made the sound and was soon greeted with her hard glare. “Why should you get excited when Rainbow is in love?”
“Because… because… we’re… friends?” answered Sunset doubtfully as a dumb smile formed on her face.
“Don’t lie!” exclaimed Applejack. Sunset quickly gasped. No wonder, she was dead. Anyone in school could lie but not when you were in front of Applejack, the most honest girl in the entire school. Besides, even if you lied to her, she would quickly find it out.
“Well…I… kinda… um… gave her love potion…” said Sunset as she trailed off at the end.
The first reaction belonged to Rarity who gasped and stared at Sunset unbelievably. “What had you done?”
“So what? There was no volunteer for the potion so I just had to make a move,” answered Sunset sadly. “I… know I did the wrong thing. I’m… I’m sorry.”
“You were a meanie to give her the potion buuuut…” exclaimed Pinkie. “HOW DID YOU DO THAT? EVEN I DIDN’T NOTICE!” she asked enthusiastically.
“Sure you didn’t notice. Love potions were mixed with chocolates,” said Sunset with a small smile.
“Wait a second…” muttered Twilight. “I ATE THE CHOCOLATES TOO!”
“REALLY?” asked Sunset happily. “I thought you didn’t. I was thinking of a way to give it to you somehow!”
“EXCUSE ME?” asked Twilight with a glare.
“What? I have to test two couples to get a proper conclusion,” explained Sunset. “That’s at least. I used it on my cousins too.”
“I really pity them…” said Rarity.
“Couldn’t ya use it on an animal or somethin’?” asked Applejack.
“Don’t ask me. Ask Fluttershy,” replied Sunset flatly.
“I won’t let any of you use animals for any kind of harmful scientific experiments. I WON’T!” said Fluttershy a little louder than her usual voice.
“But I did apply a few experiments on the hamsters she gave me,” whispered Sunset to Applejack.
Unfortunately, Fluttershy suddenly heard it… “WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?!”
“That doesn’t matter now. The important thing is that you, Sunset Shimmer, are responsible for this accident,” exclaimed Twilight.
“Won’t Dashie be startled now that she knows everything?” asked Pinkie suddenly. Girls’ eyes went wide as they quickly turned to Rainbow.
“Nah. Her love is standing there. She’s now literally outta space,” said Applejack as she motioned to Soarin who was busy talking with Spitfire just few meters away from them.
“Now that we know Rainbow had ate love potion we’ll need an adult’s help. She’ll have a rather hard time,” explained Twilight. “I hope you know an antidote for this potion.”
“I… might. I still have to work a little more on it,” mumbled Sunset.
Twilight sighed. “As I guessed…” she said. “Now, we have to tell either Rainbow’s mother, brother or father.”
“Fathers and brothers are usually overprotective. I believe that telling her mother would be the best option. Also, since her mother is a female, she knows how to advise her daughter,” suggested Rarity.
“Rarity’s right. We’d tell her mom. Not only she’s a teacher here but also, her reaction would be much better than her brothers’,” added Applejack.
“Then it’s settled. We’d better do it now. Before it’s late,” said Twilight.
“Just…” squeaked Fluttershy. “Twilight, don’t you think that since we’re gonna Rainbow’s mother the whole thing, we should do the same thing for you two?”
“Fluttershy has a good point,” stated Sunset. “So?...”
“Um… I… don’t need it. Because… I can control myself,” answered Twilight.
“You sure about that?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Of course I’m sure that I can control myself,” she replied with a roll of eyes.
“HEY RAINBOW DASH!” shouted Pinkie as loud as she could.
“Yeah?” replied Rainbow.
“DON’T MOVE. WE’LL BE BACK AGAIN,” she shouted again.
Rainbow turned her head to her and raised an eyebrow. “Pinkie, there’s no need for shouting, I’m right here. Now that I’m in love doesn’t mean that I went deaf.”
“Unfortunately, you did,” murmured Sunset. Others giggled silently as they heard her statement.
“Now are we gonna go or are we gonna go?” asked Pinkie.
“You do know that it’s not a true statement right? Actually…” And with that, Twilight started teaching them grammar as they all rolled their eyes and started walking to Ms. Firefly’s office.



Canterlot High school had many rooms. So much that a new person there would definitely get lost. That was the exact reason that Principal Celestia chose a person to show the new ones around, so they won’t get lost.
The big number of rooms was probably due to each teacher’s own office. Apart from teachers’ office, each teacher had a separate office where each student could communicate the teacher privately.
Teachers usually spent the first hour at the central teachers’ office and spent rest at their own. Most of the students were aware of this routine so finding Ms. Firefly wasn’t hard for girls.
Since the girls’ second hour had end and they were at their break time, Ms. Firefly was at her room, sorting her files. She rarely got free time to order the files and with her sickness that prevented her from coming to school for a whole day, her room was a disaster. Therefore, although she wasn’t still fully healed from her illness, she was sorting out her room.
As she sniffled and placed each folder on its proper place, many thoughts ran through her head but they were majorly about the one and only Hearts & Hooves week.
Hearts & Hooves ‘week’ couldn’t be found anywhere else. It was a made up tradition in Canterlot High. In this week, students could have fun with their beloved family, friends or even girl/boyfriend. Finally, at the big night of Hearts & Hooves Day, a big celebration was held in school as everyone celebrate the day of love. To students, Hearts & Hooves Day was the best day in their school time because it was the only day that they could stay in school all day and get ready for the big party along their friends. For teachers, however, it was a whole different story…
To most of them the week meant relief. A week without teaching. They all let students prepare school and themselves for the day. And at the big day that all of the students partied, they relaxed at home and spent their own times with their loved ones. But some other teachers were kind enough and shared their free time with students. They partied along, laughed along and had fun along all of the people there.
Ms. Firefly was one of the teachers that always stayed for the party. Principal Celestia, vice Principal Luna and she were the only teachers that always stayed for the party. Maybe that was one of the many reasons students loved their P.E. teacher, Ms. Firefly. Not only she was super kind, but also she was more like a good friend to them than a teacher.
And at the moment, though Ms. Firefly was dying of fatigue, she just couldn’t stop being excited about the party, and more importantly, her own daughter. She had some plans for her. 
She had a lot of boys that admired her but she seemed to have no interest in any of them. Soarin had been the same and with the action his mother took, he was now more interested in girls. If it worked for Rainbow’s best friend then it would work for her too.
“MS. FIREFLY! MS. FIREFLYYYYYYY!” shouted a girl as she entered the office suddenly.
Ms. Firefly winced at the loud voice and stared at the new arriver with wide eyes. “Pinkie Pie? Is everything okay?”
“NO IT’S NOT! YOU’RE DAUG-” a purple hand quickly covered her mouth and prevented her from blabbering more.
“Pinkie, was that how you wanted to tell Ms. Firefly?” asked Twilight with a frown. Pinkie grinned sheepishly from behind of Twilight’s hand and said something that was muffled because of Twilight’s hand.
“Girls, had anything happened to Rainbow?” asked Firefly worriedly.
“Rainbow? No, why would you say that?” answered Twilight with an awkward smile.
“Don’t lie,” said Applejack from their behind.
Twilight’s awkward face turned to a flat one as she heard. Great, no way back for her. “Well… there might be a little, teeny tiny thing that happened to her…” whispered Twilight.
“What? What has happened to her? Speak up!” said Firefly hurriedly.
“Don’t worry Ms. Firefly,” said Rarity. “She’s only in love!”
“Oh my dear! I thought something awful had happened,” said Firefly with relief.
“But that’s not only that. She’s in love with her best friend, Soarin,” continued Fluttershy.
“Aaaaand, let’s don’t forget that all of this is because she had drunk love potion!” said Pinkie as she pushed Twilight’s hand away.
“L-love potion? B-but how?” asked Firefly.
Twilight glared at Sunset who was lowering her head in shame and answered, “Ask Sunset.”
“I didn’t mean to. I-I just wanted to test my potion. That’s all,” said Sunset quickly. “And I know that what I did was wrong. I’m sorry.”
Firefly smiled kindly at her. “It’s okay. In fact, I’m happy that you did it. I always believed that Soarin is the one for Rainbow and not to mention I had enough of Soarin and Fury’s relationship.”
“But ah didn’t somethin’. Ah thought ya didn’t know how ta boil an egg let alone bakin’ chocolates! How did ya do that?” asked Applejack.
Sunset winced and chuckled awkwardly. “Actuallyyy… Bluey helped me.”
“Then both of you have to find a cure for this,” said Firefly. “No matter how beneficial it is, neither my daughter nor me want a fake love.”
“Yes ma’am,” replied Sunset sadly.
“In the meanwhile, if Rainbow needed help, tell her that I’ll be here to help at any time,” continued Firefly. Girls shook their head yes and started walking out of her office. Once they were out of the office, they glanced at each other and waited for one to speak up and say something.
Finally, it was Pinkie who spoke up first, “Sooo… now what?”
“Um… I think we’d better go and find Bluey. We have to start working on the cure as soon as we can,” replied Sunset.
“Then what are we waiting for? Do you wanna go or do you wanna go?” exclaimed Pinkie happily.
“Last time she said that, everything was ruined,” mumbled Twilight but she started walking after her friend anyway, so did her other friends.



“Don’t you think that your brother is a little weird today?” whispered Fleetfoot to Spitfire.
“I don’t think so. I know this. Guess what? Yesterday he was sighing all the time,” answered Spitfire.
“I guess he’s in love,” said Fleet with a giggle.
“Probably,” mumbled Spitfire. “I just hope it won’t be with Fury.”
“Well, why don’t you ask him?” questioned Fleet. Then she pointed to somewhere meters away from them and continued, “He’s standing there. Go ahead, do something.”
“What do I say? ‘Hey Soarin! How are you? Are you in love?’ that’s stupid!” replied Spitfire.
“Well, you don’t have to do it. That was just a suggestion,” said Fleet with a shrug.
“Yeah, and his answer would be definitely no, even if it isn’t,” answered Spitfire. “However, instead of standing here, let’s see what he’s telling that boy.” she motioned to a boy that was talking to Soarin. 
With a glance toward each other, they started walking up to them. From Soarin’s expression, it was visible that he was either unsatisfied about something or was only making a hard decision.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” said Fleetfoot casually.
“Hey girls. Nothing important,” answered Soarin with a sigh. Then he turned back to the boy and answered him, “I don’t think that I can. But I’ll still think of this.”
“C’mon boy, I don’t want to kill you!” the other boy answered.
“What’s goin’ on? Who are you?” asked Spitfire.
The unfamiliar boy looked at Spitfire and answered, “Me? Oh, I’m Star Song. I’m here to give Soarin an offer. I’ve heard his voice at the music class and my cousin and I need his help. We’re gonna plan celebration’s music together but we don’t know any good slow song for king and queen’s dance. So I decided to ask Soarin to perform a song with a girl. He doesn’t have to record it in front of everyone. We just wanna record it for the party.”
“Let me guess, he said no?” said Fleet.
“Unfortunately,” he answered with a sad smile.
“That was obvious,” answered Fleet with a roll of eyes.
“C’mon Soar. Your song will be played on the party! Isn’t awesome?” said Spitfire happily.
“It may seem ‘awesome’ but I told Star too. I can’t perform with a girl,” answered Soarin.
“Why? Because you’ll be disloyal to Fury?” said Fleet sarcastically.
“Fury? Pff, who care about her? I just can’t.”
“Don’t you wanna be useful for this school for once?” asked Spitfire. Fleetfoot chuckled and Star Song covered his mouth to hide his smile.
“Well, I have to agree on this one,” said Star Song as he finally let out a chuckle.
“I told you, I can’t and that’s my finale answer,” said Soarin with crossed arms.
“Ah, too bad. Guess I have to tell my cousin to that she has to choose someone other than Rainbow,” said Star as he picked up his phone.
“Wait… did you say Rainbow? As in Rainbow Dash?” asked Soarin quickly.
“Yeah. Why? Did you change your opinion?” he asked.
“Can I see the lyrics?” asked Soarin with a smile.
“YES!” said Star Song as he pumped his fist in the air.



“So what do you say?” asked Bluey.
“I’m… still not sure. I’ve never done this before. And now, not only you want me to record a song, but also you want me to do it with Soarin?” said Rainbow.
“Don’t worry. I know you can do it,” said Bluey as she placed a hand on her shoulder.
“Uh! There you two are!” said Twilight as she walked to them with a smile.
“DIDN’T I SAY DON’T MOVE?!” shouted Pinkie as she glared hard at Rainbow.
“Pinkie, now that I’m in love, it doesn’t mean that I’ll do something stupid,” said Rainbow as she rolled her eyes. “What are you guys doing here?”
“We had a small job with Bluey,” answered Sunset.
“Oh, right. Few minutes after you guys left she came to me and said that she wanted to talk about something. I accepted and started walking with her. She said that she wants me to record a slow song with a boy. She wants to use it at the party. I said that I’ll probably do it. I mean, how can’t I? I’M GONNA RECORD A SONG WITH SOARIN!” said Rainbow excitedly.
“Oh… about that… don’t get mad but… your mother knows everything now,” said Twilight with an awkward chuckle.
“What have you done?” whispered Rainbow unbelievably.
“Don’t worry Dashie. She said that she’s super duper happy that you’re in love,” continued Pinkie with a smile.
“And she said that she’ll be ready to help you anytime darling,” added Rarity.
“We thought that asking advice from an adult would be better so we told her. We’re sorry if it made you mad,” explained Fluttershy.
“No, it’s better. I gotta thank you for it. If you left it to me, I wouldn’t have done it myself,” replied Rainbow with a warm smile.
“Wow, she’d changed a lot,” whispered Twilight.
“Sure she did. One of the effects is that it changes behavior. Not for everyone but it looks like Rainbow’s had changed. She’ll probably be more girlie than before. Not so much but a little more,” explained Sunset in a low tone.
“Well, it’ll look se weird on her,” stated Applejack.
“That’s why she has to find a cure soon,” said Twilight.
“Oh, about that. Bluey?” called Sunset.
“Yeah?” answered Bluey.
“We’re spoiled,” said Sunset simply. “And not only that. We have to find a cure together.”
“Oh…” said Bluey. “It’s gonna be hard.”
“You had to think of that before you helped Sunset,” said Twilight flatly.
“Okay, I’ll help but don’t complain if I weren’t useful at all,” she warned.
“We’ll figure it out somehow,” said Sunset.
“But not now. I have a song to record. You guys can come along if you want but no noise making,” said Bluey.
“Fine, fine, can we get going now?” said Rainbow eagerly.
Bluey rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry, Soarin won’t fly away you know.”
Everyone laughed and started walking after Rainbow who was practically running and Bluey who was trying to stop her.



“What’s this? Lovers dance when they’re feeling in love?” asked Soarin as he looked at the lyrics with a raised eyebrow.
“Stop complaining. It’s just a song,” said Spitfire with an annoyed tone.
“It’s a love song you know. It has to be like this,” continued Fleet.
“Well, it’s ridiculous,” said Soarin with crossed arms.
“Look at Rainbow. She’s trying to do it as good as she can,” said Spitfire as she looked at the other side of the room where Rainbow and her friends were sitting. “We’ve been here for hours and each time you wanna end practicing this, you blurt out something and ruin it.”
Star Song who was rubbing his temples looked at him and said, “Maybe it’s because his ready. Anyways, we don’t have any time left for practicing. We have to end it before school ends. If we don’t start recording the song now, we’ll never get to do it again.”
“That was what I was about to say,” shouted Bluey from the other side of room. “Let’s do it. Stand up, stand up!”
Soarin and Rainbow both got up with so much stress inside of them. Rainbow felt nervous, excited and happy all at once. First it was that she was going to record the song with someone she really loved and then it was that she was ACTUALLY going to record a song of her own. And finally, another reason of her excitement was that it was going to be played at the party for others. And not only that, she had to dance with it herself since she was going to be the queen of the year.
“Are you two ready?” asked Star Song.
“Yep,” answered Soarin confidently.
“Kinda…” mumbled Rainbow.
“Don’t worry. It’s gonna be alright,” said Soarin kindly. He grabbed her hand and stared at her with a warm smile. Rainbow lowered her head and smiled weakly. She couldn’t even raise her head and stare at his kind eyes. She knew that her heart would kill itself for it. Instead, she blushed lightly as she felt his warm hands wrapped around hers.
She sighed happily. “I guess I’m ready now.”
“Great. Now stand at your places and wait for the song. When it played, start singing as we practiced. That’s all!” explained Bluey with a smile.
Rainbow took a deep breath. “Okay, let’s go.”
“Song will start in 3, 2, and 1!” said Star Song. The whole room went quiet and song started with a soft tone. Few seconds passed and no body spoke. Not even Rainbow who had to sing. 
Song was quickly cut and Bluey said, “Rainbow, why didn’t you sing? Concentrate!”
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry. Let’s start again,” said Rainbow. With another deep breath, song started. This time, Rainbow concentrated and started right where she should. Soon after, Soarin joined her too and everyone listened as song was played and Soarin and Rainbow sang after that:

Song ended as Soarin and Rainbow sang the ending softly and together. Then they stared at each other’s eyes with a smile. With Bluey’s motion that showed song had ended, a voice of clapping hands was heard.
Soarin and Rainbow both turned their head to the door, where voice was coming. Soarin’s eyes went wide as he noticed who was standing there. Rainbow gasped and covered her mouth with a hand. But Ms. Firefly only continued clapping and looking them with a happy smile.
“Mom…” whispered Rainbow.
“Bravo! That was wonderful!” said Firefly happily.
Rainbow’s friends who saw the expression on Ms. Firefly, started clapping their hand along with her. Slowly, cheering was added to it and Soarin and Rainbow found themselves in the middle of a heartwarming cheering from their friends and family.
And Rainbow smiled, no grinned, as she saw the people that were cheering for her and her heart filled with pride and small butterflies started flying in her belly as she saw the kind smile at Soarin’s face and the look that said, ‘You did well.’
Twilight was happy along the others but there was something nagging on her and made her uncomfortable. Like… she had forgotten something. She wasn’t sure what, but she had forgot something rather important.
At a second, a small memory of yesterday entered her head and her smile disappeared. Instead, a horrified look took over her face as she realized something important. So she started tiptoeing and walking out of the room as quiet as she could. Fortunately, no one noticed due to their happiness. She breathed a sigh of relief as she started running to somewhere. In her mind, there was only one thing, ‘I’m late.’



“I’m… here…” said Twilight between her pants. After few seconds, she caught her breath again and straightened up. Then she checked hallways to make sure that they were alone, then she turned to the boy in front of her again.
“Finally! So what was that thing you said yesterday?” asked the boy who was looking at her. “All I understood was that I shouldn’t eat the chocolates in my locker. Why?”
“Oh! I almost forgot. I wasn’t sure yesterday but I’m sure now. Didn’t you eat the chocolates, did you?” asked Twilight.
“As much as I wanted to, but no. I didn’t,” he answered.
“Oh, thank God! There was love potion in the chocolates!” said Twilight happily. But her happiness didn’t last for a long time. Her expression turned to a nervous one as she remembered something. “But I screwed up everything anyway. Now Sunset thinks that I’d drank the love potion too”
“But… how… what?” he asked. Those news had come to him like a huge bomb so Twilight thought that his expression was much better than what she imagined. “What are you gonna do know?” he asked after few minutes of silence.
“I don’t know but one thing is for sure. I have to act like a lover,” she replied with a sad sigh. “The problem is that I don’t know how. I’ve never been in love or liked someone to act like one.”
“You… I… can help you,” he said doubtfully then he quickly added, “I mean if you want.”
“But… how are you gonna do it?”
“I’m the same as you. I’ve never been in love or liked someone before but I’m a boy. And you’re a girl. With a boy along you, you can act better. I’m not forcing you to like me or anything all I’m saying is that it would be more natural,” he explained. “But still, it’s all up to you.”
“That would be wonderful! But… you don’t have to. It was my false that those words slipped my mouth. You’re free to do whatever you want. I can tell the truth to Sunset that you hadn’t eat the chocolates.”
“But then again, you have to come to me for acting so it’s better to help each other instead of this.”
“I… don’t know what to say. I think the best thing is thank you.”
“It’s a pleasure for me,” he answered kindly. “So, I guess we’ll start tomorrow?”
“Yeah. Thanks for everything. Again,” said Twilight with a smile.
“Good bye Twilight.”
“Good bye Flash,” answered Twilight with a sigh. It was only the second day of Hearts & Hooves week but troubles just had started for her and anyone who was stuck in the incident of love potion. Sunset, Bluey, her, Flash, Rainbow, Soarin and Ms. Firefly. Twilight knew that a big trouble was waiting for all of them…
> 7-Day Three

     School’s door opened and a couple entered. Just… it didn’t really seem that they were a couple since the boy was glaring angrily at the girl and the girl was huffing and muttering things as she walked beside.
The girl was none other none than Rainbow who was walking forward with a frown and a cute pout. The boy beside her was obviously her brother, Rapid Fire. He’s angry glare would scare a huge lion let alone a girl. But since Rainbow wasn’t a girl like others, she wasn’t buying it.
As they walked, a lot of attention was drawn to them and it wasn’t strange. Those students hadn’t ever seen neither Rapid nor Rainbow this grumpy and angry. But it didn’t look like just a simple fight that had happened between them, it was something more. Especially with the way Rainbow never get away from her brother.
“Hey Dashie!” said Pinkie as she bounced toward her.
“Hey Pinks,” muttered Rainbow with her previous frown.
“Why sooo blue?” she said happily.
“Ask my ‘big brother’,” answered Rainbow with a glare as she tried to say the words ‘big brother’ as teasingly as she could.
“Don’t say anything to make me angrier than what you already are. You’re lucky that I didn’t already get the hell out of your ‘friend’,” he said angrily.
“Whoa, no fightin’. What’s goin’ on?” asked Applejack who was watching the whole thing along with Rainbow’s other friends.
“What’s goin’ on? I don’t think it suits it. What the hell have you done Rainbow Dash would be better,” replied Rapid. “Guess what? Yesterday, I was going past her room and what did I hear? ‘Mom, I’m in love!’ and not only that, she’s in love with… with… HIM!” he said with all of the angriness he had inside of him.
Rainbow’s frown deepened and she quickly started bombarding her brother. “What’s wrong with him he’s the-” But she was cut off with her brother’s angry glare. ‘This time, it does look scary,’ thought Rainbow as she stared back at her brother with horrified face.
“Don’t start cause you know what will happen,” he said in a dangerous, low voice.
“Don’t hurt him,” said Rainbow with sad voice, a pout and puppy dog eyes. This it was Rapid’s turn to not buy Rainbow’s look. He only glared hard but didn’t answer her anymore.
“There he is,” he said through his greeted teeth.
“Rapid…” said Rainbow worriedly.
“Don’t speak a word,” he replied as he started walking toward the one and only Soarin who was talking to Fleetfoot happily. “Hey, YOU!”
Soarin turned his head to the voice curiously and a happy smile appear on his lips as he saw the one who had called him. “Hey Rapid! Long time no see!”
“Long time no see, huh? Well I’ll show you now,” he said with a frown.
“Is… everything okay?”
“Everything is good. PERFECT!” he answered. “What would you do if you found out that a real important girl has fallen for you?” asked Rapid with narrowed eyes.
“Real important as in what?”
“Beautiful, kind, caring, loyal, with a lot boys after him.”
“Well…no,” he answered right away. Then he whispered, “There’s someone I like.”
“Who? Speak up before you’re dead.”
“Well… um… she… she’s…”
“SAY IT ALREADY!”
“Okay, okay, that girl is Rainbow,” he said in a very low tone that no one heard. Soarin wasn’t even sure that he said anything himself. But Rapid’s sharp ear quickly caught it and his eyes narrowed at him.
But suddenly, he cheered up as if nothing had happened and no words were said. “Hey, you wanna hang out after school?”
“Yeah…” answered Soarin doubtfully.
“C’mon, it’s been a long time since the last time we hung out.”
“Okay… I don’t think that it’s a bad idea,” answered Soarin with a small smile. “See ya!”
“See ya after school too,” answered Rapid. Soarin walked away from there and Rapid Fire stared at him till he was out of sight.
Once he was nowhere around, Rainbow hugged her brother tightly and shouted, “THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! YOU’RE THE BEST BROTHER EVER!”
Rapid smiled and returned the hug almost immediately. “But don’t get your hopes up. He still has to be tested to be accepted as the right guy for my sister.”
“I don’t doubt that he can,” replied Rainbow with pride.
“Whoa, whoa, no defending your boyfriend!” said Rapid with a comical frown.
She quickly blushed and mumbled, “As much as I want to, he’s not my boyfriend.”
“Don’t worry. If he passed the test, I promise to help you in getting him,” said Rapid as he ruffled his sister’s hair. Rainbow grinned and said nothing. What else needed to be said? He had a wonderful brother who helped her wherever she needed help. Nothing could have been better than that. Just… if Soarin loved him back, this world would turn out to a real perfect one. “Now, I gotta go. For now, you can get close to him.” He smiled. But then, just as if something had entered his mind, he frowned and continued, “But not too close.”
Rainbow giggled. “Fiiiiine!” he watched as his brother started walking away. She smiled happily because in her mind, nothing, and just nothing was better than this brotherly support. In her heart, she silently wished that nothing ruin this moment.
But sometimes, wishes don’t come true…
“Rainbow…” called a girl with a sad voice.
“Not again,” muttered Twilight as she huffed at the new comer.
“Fury Star…” said Rainbow with a frown. “What is it this time?”
“Soarin… he… he… threw all of my gifts in trash can. Help me, please!” she said sadly.
“You know what?” said Rainbow. “I. DON’T. CARE.”
“What did you say?”
“Can’t you hear? I don’t care? Why would I? Are you idiot or blind that you don’t see it? Soarin doesn’t like you. He hates you. Why can’t you see?” replied Rainbow angrily.
“No, you’re the idiot one. You can’t see his love for me. He wants me to think this but deep in his heart, he loves me more than anything,” said Fury.
“If it’s so, then why do you come to me? Go and show him that ‘he has deep feelings’ for you.”
“You know what? You’re only doing this because you’re jealous. Jealous of me. You’re still regretting your wrong decision.”
Rainbow’s breath was quickly caught in her throat and her eyes went wide. But not because of her insult. It was because for once in her life, she had spoken the truth. Rainbow WAS feeling jealous. More jealous than ever before. She just wished that she had the power to kill Fury because of just being Soarin’s girlfriend. But even if she weren’t in love with him, Rainbow weren’t going to help her anymore.
“Who do you think you are?” said Sunset with a frown. “Rainbow can get any boy with a snap of finger. Even Soarin. And she sure doesn’t wish to be instead of someone that can’t even get love from her boyfriend.”
“How… how could you?” said Fury unbelievably.
“She’s only telling the truth.” As much as it surprised girls, it was Fluttershy who spoke up.
“You’d better shut up Cluttershy,” said Fury with a frown. Tears quickly appeared at Fluttershy’s eyes as she heard the bad name.
“Ya mess with her and ya won’t be alive the next minute,” said Applejack angrily.
“WHY INSTEAD OF ALL OF THESE JUNKS YOU GO BACK TO THE HELL YOU CAME FROM AND GET OUT OF EVERYONE’S SIGHT?” shouted Twilight angrily. Everyone looked at her with dropped jaws. Twilight never ever cursed. But one thing was for sure. When she did, it meant that she was like a true volcano that was going to erupt any second.
“Open your eyes and see that not even Soarin hates you but also, Rainbow won’t ever help you again so go away!” said Rarity.
“I WON’T!” she screamed stubbornly.
“Looks like someone needs a little push, right?” said Pinkie with a grin. “LET’S DO IT!” And with that, she started pushing the screaming Fury to one of the hallways with a big grin.
“Thank Goodness Pinkie got her away. I thought my beautiful hair was going to be set on fire!” said Rarity.
“She really is a jerk,” said Applejack as she emptied her angriness by kicking a trash nearby.
“I don’t care about anything. I’m just gonna let Soarin know a piece of my mind about that idiot girl,” said Rainbow angrily.
“You really wish you were Soarin’s girlfriend instead of him, right?” asked someone out of nowhere. Everyone turned their head to source of voice.
“Bluey!” squeaked Fluttershy.
She grinned. “The one and only! Now my answer is…”
“Unfortunately, it’s positive.”
“And you wanna let Soarin know about it right?”
“Not exactly but yeah.”
“And do you know a way for it?”
“Well… no.”
“Don’t fear! Cause I know!” announced Bluey happily. “All you have to do is singing him a song. A song that experesses your feeling.”
“But where can I find such thing?”
“Don’t worry. I already have one,” she replied as she gave Rainbow a paper that contained lyrics.
“Where do you get all of those songs?” asked Twilight curiously.
“Simple. I get them from here,” she said as she pointed to her head.
“Wow, that must be hard,” stated Sunset.
“More fun than hard,” answered Bluey.
“Well, this is the best song for expressing my true feelings. It’s as if this song is speaking instead of me!” said Rainbow excitedly. “Does it have a music too?”
“After working all night, yes.”
“Then what are you waiting for? I have to practice. Come on, come on, come on!” said Rainbow as she started flying before anyone and anything.
Applejack rolled her eyes and said, “No wonder her parents named her Rainbow ‘DASH’. She’s even dashing for singing!”



“Is there a way back?” asked Rainbow nervously.
“Where’s that over self-confidence ya killed us with?” said Applejack.
Rainbow frowned. “Now that you said that, I’ll do it to show you that I can.”
“C’mon ya. Ah believe in ya. What yer gonna do is the best thing to do. And ah’ll support ya in it,” said Applejack.
“Guuuuys! You gotta hurry. They may leave any second. Fury is getting more annoying every passing second,” whisper-shouted Bluey.
“I’m ready,” answered Rainbow confidently.
“Great! Let’s start now. When you heard me, go up the stage and start,” ordered Bluey. Then, she went up the stage and stood behind the curtains. She cleared her voice and started, “Hey everyone. Thanks for coming. Although you’re not that much… however, right now, you’re gonna hear a beautiful song by the one and only Rainbow Dash. As she said, this song tells you her deeeep feeling about Fury. Here you are and… RAINBOW DASH!”
Everyone cheered and Rainbow who was behind the curtains took a deep breath. This was it. The end of all of Fury’s bugging and also, something little for Soarin. She smiled as curtains went up and stared at the small crowd. There weren’t many people there. Just Soarin, Fury, Spitfire, Fleetfoot, Rainbow’s friends and her brother. ‘I’ll show you Fury Star. I’ll show you,’ thought Rainbow as she motioned for the song to start. Less than a second music was all over the room and Rainbow started singing right after that:

It was almost at the middle of Rainbow’s singing that she heard Soarin raising one of his eyebrows with a mischievous grin. “I’m… not impressed at all,” he said.
Rainbow quickly frowned as she heard it and started singing the middle of the song as angry as she could:

And she continued singing the rest with an angry glare to him. She was angry. Real angry. He shouldn’t have treated her like that. Not in front of Fury instead.
Once her music ended, the whole room went quiet but a screechy voice broke it quickly and of course it belonged to Fury. “SOARIN TELL HER SOMETHING!”
In the answer, all Soarin did was grinning idiotically as he started clapping his hands as hard and loud as he could. Quickly, others followed and started clapping their hands happily. And Fury who was literally living up her name, exited the room with a fit of ‘boo’s from Fleetfoot and Spitfire. This time, not only Rainbow defended her, but booed her along with others.
The day couldn’t go more wonderful than this. And no matter how much Fury was a jerk, nothing could stop Rainbow when she wanted to do something. Even if that thing was only being happy.



“I thought you’ll never come,” said Twilight.
“Sorry. Got stuck in the practice room. I had to work more because the band was out of plan,” replied Flash as he dropped himself on the bench that Twilight was sitting on.
As soon as Flash sat down, Twilight cleared her throat and started, “It’s okay. Now, to the important part. Well, we’re here to start the job. I think we have a rough task ahead. According to the books I read and researches I took last night, we first have to-”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Why don’t you get the books away for once? I may have never been in a relationship but one of the few things I know about it is that theory won’t work here,” said Flash as he put Twilight’s books away.
“Wait a second, are you telling me that I have to put my books away? NO WAY!” said Twilight angrily.
“Calm down. I’m not gonna burn them or anything. All I’m saying is that instead of books, you have to use here,” he said kindly as he placed his hands over Twilight’s heart.
Twilight’s angry face turned to a surprised one and a big blush appeared on her face as she felt the touch. Flash smiled kindly at her and removed his hand slowly. ‘She looks cute when she blushes,’ he thought.
“But… I can’t get away from my books. It doesn’t make sense. There’s an explanation for everything in the books,” mumbled Twilight.
“Not for love. Only a true lover can describe love. Even so, you won’t understand love till you feel it yourself,” he said softly.
“How can you be sure?” she asked curiously.
“My heart tells me.”
“So does this mean that you’re in love?”
“What? No, sure it doesn’t. I know it because I love my family so much. The love I talked about earlier must be much stronger but it’s kinda like the powerful love you’re sharing with your family.”
“Like… like my love for my big brother!” she said excitedly.
He chuckled. “Yeah… kinda.”
“But… but if I don’t read at least one book a day, I’ll die,” said Twilight sadly.
“Come on, it’s not this bad. Just put all of your books away for a day. Just today. You’ll see that nothing will happen,” said Flash.
“But if I shouldn’t read today… what am I gonna do then?”
“There are a whole bunch of things you can do. Got to movies, take a ticket for a concert, play video games or do what all of the girls love, shopping!” he said happily.
“It’s been three years I haven’t gone to theater, I can’t go to concerts alone and I don’t know who to play video games. And for shopping, I don’t know where and what to buy,” said Twilight.
“Well, solution is easy. You can come to theater today with me then we can use my extra ticket for concert and then, we go shopping a little and after that we can go to a restaurant that has some video games inside. There, not only we can eat something, but also, you learn how to play video games too. How’s that?”
“Are you asking me to a date?” she asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Well…kinda,” said Flash.
“I’m in!” she replied happily.
“But instead of all of these, you have to promise me that you won’t read any other books till you come school tomorrow,” said Flash.
“Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!” she said as she did the silly motions.
Flash blinked. “Although I didn’t understand what did you do… but be ready at 5. Movie starts at 5:30.”
“I CAN’T BELIEVE I’M ACTUALLY DOING IT!” shouted Twilight happily.
“Yeah, I can’t believe I’m taking a girl to a date either,” muttered Flash but Twilight didn’t hear it cause she was busy jumping up and down happily. He smiled and laid back and decided to rest for few seconds.
> 8-Day Four

     “Ahem, attention everyone,” called Twilight from the small stage that was only a simple table. Most of the students in the school were gathering there because Twilight was going to announce something important. Once everyone got quiet, she raised her voice and continued, “As most of you know, I wanna tell you something important. This is a decision from students’ council so all of you have to do it, especially king and the queen of the celebration. All of the students who come to party have to know slow dance. That’s not mandatory for ordinary students, just in case you wanna dance but king and queen have to know it. Thanks for the attention. That’s it.”
“WHAT?” shouted a boy from the crowd. “But I don’t know how to do it.”
“Why do you wanna know? You’re not king, it’s not necessary for you,” said the girl beside him.
“C’mon Spit, maybe he wants to ask a girl for dance. He HAS to know slow dance!” said another girl beside him with a wink.
“Whoa… wait a second…” muttered Spitfire. Then she glared at him and quickly pulled him with her. With a short ‘whoa’ from him, he followed her and their other friend, Fleetfoot, started running after them with a grin. Once they were out of that hall and in another one, Spitfire pushed him to a wall and glared at his eyes. “Who’s the girl?” she asked simply.
“Pfft, did you really believe Fleetfoot? There’s no girl,” replied Soarin.
“It’s Rainbow isn’t it?” asked Spitfire.
“Rainbow? Why would I want to ask my best friend to a slow dance?” he said somewhat… awkwardly.
“Soarin Skies,” she began. “Look straight in my eyes and say that you don’t like Rainbow Dash.”
Soarin quickly frowned. “I, Soarin Skies say that I… I…” he hesitated for a second and then a light blush appeared on his face. “…love Rainbow Dash…” he whispered.
“Oooh!” said Fleetfoot with a huge grin.
Spitfire smiled too and let go of him. “Now that’s how a good little brother tells everything to his big sister.”
Soarin huffed and said, “Now what?”
“Then you have to learn slow dance,” said Fleetfoot.
“Yeah, but how? Does any of you know how to slow dance?” he asked.
“Nah, never wanted to learn therefore, no,” said Spitfire.
“I’m the same,” stated Fleet.
“Why don’t you ask Rainbow herself? Maybe she knows how to do it,” suggested Spitfire.
“I don’t know… but I’m gonna try it,” he muttered. Then he started walking to somewhere. Probably the last place he had seen Rainbow.
“HEY, DON’T FORGET GOODBYE!” shouted Fleet after him.
“I bet he didn’t even hear you,” said Spitfire with a sigh.



“What are you thinking about?” asked Rarity.
“For the last time Rares, NOTHING,” said Rainbow with a huff. “This is the thousandth time you’re asking this. I don’t even get any time to think about anything.”
“Well, I thought you might be thinking about a certain navy haired boy,” she said with a wink. Soon, she regretted saying that due to the hard glare she was receiving so she cleared her throat and tried to open up another conversation. “Um… anyways, do you know how to slow dance? You’re the queen so you have to know it.”
“Yeah, I do. It’s a long story, but my mom made me learn it,” replied Rainbow.
“Really? Then can you help me?” said a voice from their behind them. Rarity winced upon hearing it but Rainbow quickly got frozen. Slowly, a big blush appeared on her face. She exactly knew who the speaker was. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I just overheard it.”
“Of course you didn’t want. It’s okay darling,” said Rarity.
“So… Rainbow… can you teach me how to slow dance?” asked Soarin awkwardly.
“S-sure,” muttered Rainbow with a blush. “Ms. Cheerily said that she won’t come to class today. Be at the empty class at the second floor. I’ll teach you there,” she said as she faced him with a smile.
Soarin’s nervous face quickly lightened up and he hugged Rainbow right away. “Thanks a lot! That really meant to me.”
She stood frozen in his arms as she blushed madly. Why did his hug always felt so damn good? Even the last time he hugged her it was wonderful and Rainbow wasn’t in love with him at that time. So then that she was in love, she couldn’t help herself and hugged him back tightly. After few seconds, though neither of them wanted, the hug ended.
“I’ll see you. Thanks again. Bye,” he said quickly before flying away happily.
Once Rainbow was sure he wasn’t around, she plopped herself on the bench Rarity and her were sitting on and squeaked happily. “WOOHOO!” she screamed happily. “Not only he asked me to teach him slow dance, but also he hugged me. RARITY HE HUGGED ME!”
Rarity giggled. “Okay darling. I saw that too. But that wasn’t the first time he did that.”
“Still…” replied Rainbow with a happy sigh.
“Do you want a good song for your practice?” asked Rarity and snapped Rainbow out of her thoughts.
“Yeah, I guess. I don’t have any nor know any,” replied Rainbow.
“Then have this special song. It’s a slow song and it’s special,” she said as she gave her the CD with the song on it. “I’m sure you’ll love it!”
“Thanks. I guess I’ll love it. Only if it won’t be TOO lovey dovey. But that’s not important… I CAN’T WAIT!” she said happily.
“Here we go,” muttered Rarity with a roll of eyes.



Dusty door opened with a squeak and Rainbow stepped inside. ‘Hmm… not bad,’ she thought. Although room’s furniture were a little dusty, room looked nice for a dance practice. No wonder, that place used to be their dance class but that was about three or four years ago and most of the times room was left empty and untouched.
She placed the audio player on a table near and sat on one of the clean chairs. She felt very excited and if it was up to her, she would run the whole school while screaming loud! Unfortunately, she had to save her energy for the dance so she had to keep all of her feelings inside and don’t say a word.
“Hey,” said Soarin as he poked his head inside.
“O-oh, hey!” replied Rainbow with a smile.
“So…” he muttered.
“Yeah… so! Let’s start,” she said as she tried hard to sound cheerful but deep inside she was having a hard time hiding her loud heartbeats.
“Yeah! L-let’s go!” said Soarin with a slight gulp. He also, was having a hard time hiding his excitement.
“So, um… for starting, I’ve gotta turn the music on first,” she said. “Okay now, you gotta um… grabmywaist,” she said with a blush.
Soarin who had gotten the message fully chuckled awkwardly and only did what she said. Rainbow’s eyes widened as she felt Soarin’s arms wrapping around her once again. She would never get enough of it…
Next step was what Rainbow should have done and she was sure that it’ll only make the situation more awkward than what it already is. But she bite her lip and did it anyway. Her hands was slowly raised up and was placed on his shoulder.
At that moment, song finally started playing its soft tone:

“Okay, so you… have to take my hand,” said Rainbow.
Soarin grabbed her hand just as she said. ‘Wow… her hands are soft…’ he thought.
*I’ll spin you around, won’t let you fall down*
She slowly spun him around but it seemed unexpected to Soarin because he stumbled. If Rainbow hadn’t grab him, he would have fallen. She smiled at him and continued the dance.
*Would you let me lead*
She was leading him without him knowing this and wow, it felt good! She never thought her first serious slow dance would be with him. Sure she know how to do it but she hadn’t tried for a long time.
*You can step on my feet*
“Ouch!” said Rainbow as she felt something hit her feet.
“Oops! Sorry, sorry!” replied Soarin quickly.
“It’s okay,” she said with a smile. This time he saw the smile and returned it with all of his heart.
*Give it a try, it’ll be alright*
*The room’s hush, hush*
Few meters away from the couple, a small group were standing at the doorway and smiling at them. Murmuring could have been heard from the crowd. Too bad that Soarin and Rainbow weren’t as alone as they expected.

She slowly turned her gaze to his eyes. His wonderful emerald eyes…

Her heavy gaze made him look up and stare back at the pair of magenta jewels that were sparkling majestically.

A unique feeling of bravery washed over him. Just knowing that a beautiful girl such as Rainbow was there in his arms, made him feel like he could take the whole world.

At a blink, instead of Rainbow who was leading him till that moment, it was Soarin who was leading her slowly.
“You did it!” she whispered happily. Soarin only smiled kindly at her.

He slowly spun her around. She spun right in time and with a unique smile that could melt any stone, let alone his heart that was already filled with her love.
*Can I hold you, real close?*
She sighed happily and placed her head on his chest with her eyes closed. In return, Soarin pulled her closer to himself and placed his head on top of hers.
*The room’s hush, hush*
The small group at the doorway, now was very big and a lot of students were there, staring at the couple happily. None of them thought of nothing but how wonderful they’re together.

It was right at that moment that both Soarin and Rainbow realized something important: It was the song they’d sang together! How didn’t they find out? Were they too distracted that they didn’t even understood this?

Song ended softly and Soarin and Rainbow stopped as the song ended. A few seconds passed but neither of them pulled apart. They were both lost in each other’s eyes and of course neither Rainbow nor Soarin wanted to come out of the trance they were in.
Finally, Rainbow was the first one that regained her composure. “Wow… you learned really fast,” she mumbled.
“Well, I’m not on the soccer team for nothing,” he said with a wink that made Rainbow giggle with a blush. Then his smile turned to a kind one and he continued, “But let’s not forget my wonderful teacher.”
Her blush deepened and she smiled kindly at him. “Thanks,” she murmured. “Um… I… think I gotta go now…”
“Okay. I… I hope to see you around again,” exclaimed Soarin with a hopeful smile.
“Sure you can. Bye!” said Rainbow as she walked backward toward door. Then she turned around and gasped as she saw the huge crowd in front of her.
“So you hope to see him again, huh?” asked Spitfire with a devilish smirk. Rainbow couldn’t do anything but staring at her with dropped jaw. There was nothing much to say anyway…

However, at the back of the crowd a familiar girl with navy and yellow hair was staring at the sights before her with a look of disbelief. It was impossible for her to believe that her boyfriend’s first slow dance was with someone other than her.
And not anyone, but someone that she hated so much. Someone that her boyfriend had feelings for…
Fury might have been spoiled, she might have cried over idiotic little things but she sure wasn’t idiot. She knew that the boy she called her boyfriend, actually had feelings for another girl. Not even he knew it. And at that moment…
No matter how much Soarin was mean to her, she still loved him. Seeing that sight almost made her vomit. So when she finally convinced herself that the incident was real, she just couldn’t stop her streaming tears.
None of Soarin’s fights had ever felt like that to her. She thought that he might be doing them because he wants to see how much she likes him but with what happened in front of her, she wasn’t even sure why did she accepted to be his girlfriend at the first place.
She hated to admit but she had to agree with Rainbow here. If she’d opened her eyes, she would have definitely seen the signs. But she was so love-struck that she didn’t see it coming. At that moment, what was better than running away as she cried?



“Hey,” said Flash casually as he walked through the almost empty hallway. He walked up to Twilight and stood in front of her.
Twilight glared hard at him and shouted, “HEY? HEY? I’M DYING AND YOU SAY HEY? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I’VE BEEN THROUGH? I ONLY SLEPT FOR THREE HOURS LAST NIGHT JUST BECAUSE I PROMISED AN IDIOT THAT I WON’T READ ANY BOOKS!”
He grinned. “I knew you can’t do it. That’s why I bought this for you,” he said as he gave Twilight something wrapped in colorful papers.
Although she was curious to see what was inside the paper, but she glared at him and ripped off the paper quickly. Her expression quickly changed as she saw the gift. “Wow… thanks. You… you didn’t have to,” said Twilight with a grin. She picked up the book inside the papers and eyed it with happiness. “IT’S MY FAVORITE BOOK! But really, you didn’t have to do it.”
He rolled his eyes and mumbled, “Yeah, then you would kill me to buy it anyway.”
“Did you say anything?”
“No! No! Not at all!”
“Good…” replied Twilight with narrowed eyes. “By the way, thanks for yesterday. It was fun!”
“You’re welcome. It was nothing,” exclaimed Flash. “But now… I… kinda need your help.”
“Help? What kind of help?” asked Twilight curiously.
“Well… I have math exam tomorrow and I don’t know a thing about the new lesson. Please help! I can’t ruin this exam too!” he said.
“You’re asking me,” Twilight pointed to herself. “To help you,” She pointed to Flash. “In math?”
“Uh… yeah?” he said doubtfully.
Many thoughts were racing in Twilight’s head. It was the first time anyone was asking her such thing. She would have asked for some time to think if it were someone else but since it was Flash, she couldn’t do anything but grinning and speaking excitedly, “Six O clock, the library that is on my neighborhood!”
“Okay,” replied Flash with a grin.
“I have to go now. I HAVE TO PREPARE MYSELF!” shouted Twilight. He chuckled as he watched her running away happily. Had he known it’ll make her this happy, he would have done it sooner.
Wait…
Why would he want her to be happy? ‘Because she’s my friend,’ He answered in his mind. But was he thinking the same when he bought the book for her last night? Or when took her to the date? Or when stared at her the whole time in the concert? When he thought how beautiful she is?...
Well, to be honest, no. He never looked at her like a friend or a sister. He always looked at her more than those. Maybe it was because of what they agreed on at the first place. He was supposed to act like her boyfriend anyway.
Her boyfriend…
It really warmed his heart. There was something for sure. She was a beautiful girl. But in this short time Flash had known her, not only she was beautiful, but she was kind and smart and fun to hang out.
He smiled as he thought of those things. But he still wasn’t sure of his feelings. And even worse, he was starting to have a headache of thinking so much about those things. He sighed sadly. He still didn’t know anything. And he didn’t want to think about it at the moment. He could feel others look at him. He was standing there like an idiot for some time. So he just started walking… to nowhere. He just needed some relaxation. For that time, he just forgot about everything and left it for some time later.



“… Aaaand answer of this equation is 7,” said Twilight. “So did you learn it?”
“Yep, I did,” answered Flash confidently. He could proudly announce that he had learned every single thing that Twilight taught him. And at top of all, he had learned something else about Twilight; she was a very good teacher.
“If you’re sure about it, why don’t you do this example? Let’s see how much you learned today,” said Twilight.
He glanced at the exercise and said, “Pff, that’s a piece of cake.” Then he started doing it quickly. In the meanwhile, Twilight stretched and let out a happy sigh. She was happy that her talents were useful and could help Flash. She looked at the clock to see how much had passed. Probably only half an hour. Flash’s problems weren’t major. But her eyes went wide as she looked at the clock.
8:00! They had been there for two hours! ‘Time really flows…’ she thought. She’d been kinda studying for two hours, but a harder form of studying. She wasn’t the one who was doing the exercises, she was the one who talked and that had made her really exhausted. She let out a long yawn and stared at Flash’s exercise with sleepy eyes. Numbers and symbols were flowing in front of her and she couldn’t focus. Another yawn escaped her mouth and made her sleepier than what she already was. Twilight rested her head on the table to prevent her head from falling. Her head felt so heavy she couldn’t even raise it up. Just as her head touched the table, her eyes started closing, no matter how loud she was telling herself to stay awake, her mind couldn’t take it anymore and she finally fall asleep with a smile.
Flash was busy doing the exercise Twilight had gave him. It wasn’t hard, not at all, and he was right at the middle of finding the answer. His pencil was scribing numbers and symbols quickly on the paper and a happy grin was on his face. With the way Twilight taught him, he could also feel the reason Twilight loved math. After few seconds, he finally wrote the last numbers and suddenly shouted, “I’M DONE!” He looked at Twilight and his eyes quickly went wide as he saw her closed eyes.
Twilight, however, opened her eyes few seconds after Flash’s shouting and smiled at him. She checked the exercise quickly and spoke up sleepily, “That was correct. Well done.” She yawned again and closed her sleepy eyes. This time, instead of putting her head back to table, she placed her head right at Flash’s chest.
Flash was taken back by Twilight’s move. He didn’t expect this but it was no wonder. She was so bewildered that she didn’t even understand the place she put her head. That was why she was sleeping happily. His chest was sure better than the rough table!
Flash who was staring at her with fear in his eyes, turned back to normal and let a smile appear on his face. He wrapped one of his arms around her and pulled her closer. It felt good to have her there. That made his smile wider and he planted a small kiss at her hair. Twilight, also, who was sleeping peacefully, smiled and snuggled closer to him
He raised his free hand and started stroking her soft hair. All of his moves were uncontrollable. It was like something was making him do all of those. Not that he didn’t like them…
‘That’s it!’ he thought. His hand stopped stroking her hair as he finally realized something he had trouble with. Everything was clear for him at that moment. He, Flash Sentry had fallen for the smartest girl in the school. And not through an idiot love potion, his heart had decided everything itself.
Suddenly, he felt so happy like never before. Because if he had ate the chocolates, he would have just stuck in a fake love that didn’t go anywhere. He wouldn’t have felt the happiness he was currently experiencing. And on the top of all… he wouldn’t have the wonderful girl that was sleeping at his arms at the moment. His hand started stroking her hair again. This time with all of the love he had to her.
“Library’s closing in fifteen minutes,” said the librarian as she picked up all of the books that belonged to library. “Your girlfriend and you better get going before the lights turn off,” she said kindly and with a smile as she eyed the couple.
“Okay ma’am. We’ll get moving right away,” he said. Librarian nodded and started walking back to her desk and left Flash and Twilight alone again.
Flash smiled and tried calling Twilight. “Twilight, Twilight…” he said softly and as he caressed her soft cheek.
She yawned and opened her eyes slowly. The first thing she felt was sound of Flash’s steady heartbeats. Then she felt his chest rising and falling and she quickly found out where she was. She quickly got away from him with a blush.
She quickly started blabbering, “Sorry, sorry, I was so tired and-”
“It’s okay Twi,” said Flash with a smile and his hand at top of hers.
Her blush deepened as she heard him calling her nickname. “I… guess, we have to go now,” she mumbled.
He smiled at her. “I’ll get you home.” And with that, he grabbed her hand and dragged her along. She blushed and quickly followed. Although that day didn’t have so much things happening in, he still felt good about it. Not only for his best friend, Soarin who finally found someone to love, but also for himself and his newfound love.
> 9-Day Five

It was another beautiful winter day, fifth day of Hearts & Hooves week. When you stopped at Canterlot High School, you could easily feel the excitement in the air. Students couldn’t stop their happiness for the upcoming party and therefore, seeing those excited, happy faces made you excited too.

For Rainbow Dash, however, things were different. Sure, she was also excited for the party but she was even happier than others. It was no wonder, by the way her number one enemy, Fury, hadn’t appear around Soarin lately. More importantly, she was hanging out with Soarin again. And it meant that she could spend more time with her favorite boy. Therefore, she had good reasons for being super happy and grinning like crazy.

And it was what she was doing right at the moment. As she walked beside her friends, she was grinning happily and was listening to Twilight who was relating the incidents of last night.

“…And then he told me that he’ll take me home. I accepted and Flash took me home and after running away from Shining’s idiotic questions, I went to my room and squeaked for a whole ten minutes!” explained Twilight excitedly.

“Looks someone has fallen in love! Right darling?” said Rarity with a wink.

“I… don’t know. I mean, I do like him like… a lot! But love… I’m not sure,” replied Twilight.

“Well, that doesn’t make sense,” said Sunset suddenly. Then she lowered her tone and continued, “You drank love potion you know.” Then she quickly looked at Rainbow and let out a sigh of relief when she saw her talking to Fleetfoot who had just arrived.

Twilight who remembered it quickly, chuckled awkwardly and replied, “Sure I did. I do think it’s love. It’s just that I’ve never been in love so I weren’t sure if it were really love or not. But I know now.”

“Speaking of… love potion,” said Sunset in a low tone. “Thanks to Bluey, we found a cure.”

“Really? What is it?” asked Twilight excitedly. She sure was tired of pretending. Till that day, Sunset had made her tell all of the things that happened between Flash and her.

“Shouldn’t you be sad or something?” asked Sunset with a raised eyebrow.

“I rather have a true love than a fake one,” said Twilight sincerely. Then she narrowed her eyes and looked at Sunset with a glare. “And even if the potion is gonna stay, I rather let it stay without someone asking for the details all the time.”

“Whatever, now back to the topic. We found the cure,” said Sunset happily. “At first I had no idea what should I do or where should I start. I had already used many ways and none had end to a proper conclusion. As always, most of the potions had exploded in my face. I was losing all of my hope and what made me angrier was that Bluey was doing nothing and whenever I asked her, she said that she’s not good at chemistry.

“Finally, I lost my patience and told her that if she really thinks that she’s a good match maker, she should know a way for it. Then she told me that in most of the stories that contain love potion or something like this, a true love kiss is the cure.

“Well, she was right. I tried it on the hamsters and it worked! But not any true love kiss. The kiss should be between the girl and the boy who are in love with each other.”

“Wait… you mean that I have to… I have to…” stuttered Twilight.

“…Kiss Flash. Yep you have to do it,” said Sunset casually.

“Oh…” muttered Twilight with a blush.

“Don’t ya worry. Yer time will come!” said Applejack with a wink that only made Twilight’s blush redder than what it already was.

“Well, Twilight may do it on her own but what about Rainbow?” asked Fluttershy.

“Fluttershy’s right. And something else, we can’t let the potion stay in their body longer than that. It may affect their health,” said Sunset. “We all have to work on this. I need all of you girls’ help. I’ll probably ask Soarin’s friends too. It’ll be a tough task but I’m sure we can make it through. So are you guys with me?”

“YEAH!” shouted girls in union.

“Yeah what?” asked Rainbow curiously. Next to her, Fleetfoot was also staring at them with a raised eyebrow.

“Uh… nothing?” said Sunset with an awkward smile. Fleetfoot and Rainbow glanced at each other and shrugged. Then they continued their conversation as if nothing had happened. On the other side, Sunset winked at her friends. They all got the message and winked back. Then they slowly got away from them and giggled in a low tone. They’re plan had started from that moment and nothing could stop it.





“Whoa, your friends left. Don’t you wanna go with them?” said Fleetfoot to Rainbow.

She glanced at them and shrugged. “Usually, when they get away like that, they wanna do something that I shouldn’t know.”

“Do you wanna go after them and see what they are going to do?” asked Fleet with a grin.

“Uh… no thanks,” she said nonchalantly. “Instead, let’s hang out with Soarin and Spitfire,” she continued with a grin.

Fleet raised an eyebrow. “Why did you suddenly got interested in hanging out with SOARIN and Spitfire,” she said as she put more emphasis on the word ‘Soarin’.

“Whaaaat? I’m Soarin’s best friend you know,” Rainbow said casually.

“Oh? You sure it’s not something else?” asked Fleetfoot with a smirk.

“Of course it’s not! Now move!” said Rainbow quickly.

“We’ll see…” said Fleet as she started walking with Rainbow. At least she was sure that Rainbow wasn’t Soarin’s best friend anymore but about Rainbow… well it did looked like she liked Soarin more than what she should, especially with the small show they performed the day before…

All Fleet could do was smirking and walking along Rainbow. She wasn’t sure about anything yet but she sure was going to find out. By the way, teasing this always cool boy in some way, was her number one goal. So as she spotted her other two friends, she stepped ahead and shouted happily, “HEEEEEEY GUYS!”

“Hey?” answered Soarin doubtfully. “If I’m not mistaken, she has an evil plan on her head,” he muttered in a low tone and made Spitfire chuckle.

“Don’t doubt it!” replied Spitfire.

“Sooo, how are my wonderful, dear friends?” asked Fleetfoot.

“Would be better if we knew what’s going on on your head,” stated Spitfire flatly.

“My head? The only thing that is there, is what a wonderful friends I have!” said Fleetfoot.

“What do you want? Or maybe, what have you done?” asked Soarin.

“I didn’t do anything!” said Fleet with a frown. “And I don’t want anything from YOU. But Spit…” She stared at Spitfire with a grin.

“Since I know that you won’t let me go till I do your request, say it,” said Spitfire nonchalantly. Fleet’s grin widened and she quickly whispered some things in her ear. At first, with every word that Fleetfoot was saying, her brows were furrowed but suddenly, her eyes started getting wider and wider.

Finally, Fleet pulled away and shrugged as she saw Spitfire’s surprised expression. “WHAT?” Spitfire shouted with disbelief.

“You heard me,” replied Fleet casually.

In the answer, Spitfire huffed. “Fine. Let’s see what can I do…”

“In the meantime, would any of you care and tell me what is exactly going on?” asked Rainbow with a raised eyebrow as she eyed the girls.

“And me too,” continued Soarin.

“Rainbow Dash, you’d better come after me cause I have some real serious business with you,” said Spitfire as she dragged Rainbow away with her.

“But what about me?” asked Soarin.

“What about you? You stay here with Fleet. If what Fleetfoot said to me was true, then I’ll tell you what about you,” replied Spitfire with a serious tone.

“Why am I not having a good feeling about this?” muttered Rainbow under her breath.

“Because it probably won’t be something good,” mumbled back Soarin. “You know, not every day you can see this serious face on Spitfire.”

“I’m totally dead…” she whispered before Spitfire dragged her to some place away from Soarin’s earshot.

“I’m gonna be blunt,” started off Spitfire. “Do you love Soarin?”

At first Rainbow’s eyes went a little wide but she quickly recovered and answered, “Pfft, of course I do. I mean, all of the friends love each other don’t they?”

“Rainbow Dash, neither me nor you are idiot so I suppose I don’t have to repeat my question or explain my purpose,” said Spitfire seriously.

“Of course no! I don’t love him THAT way…” she replied as she tried to look anywhere but Spitfire’s eyes.

“Oh yeah?” said Spitfire. “Then look into my eyes and say that you don’t love him that way.”

“Fine,” said Rainbow sternly. She stared at Spitfire’s hazel eyes that were narrowed at the moment and said, “I… I… IloveSoarininthatwaythatyouknow…”

“In what way that I know?” asked Spitfire with a raised eyebrow.

“Fine, I’m in love with him! Was that what you wanted to hear from me?” she replied angrily.

“The exact thing I was waiting for,” said Spitfire with a smirk.

“Now let go of me. You know now. Go ahead and tease me,” said Rainbow as she turned her head away from Spitfire.

“You mean that you don’t want me to help you tell Soarin?” asked Spitfire.

“You’ll do that?” she said happily.

“Not if you really like to be teased.”

“THANK YOU!”

“Now, come on. We have A LOT to do.”

“Like what?”

“It’s gonna take a lot more time to make Soarin kiss you!” said Spitfire with a wink. She chuckled as she saw Rainbow’s blushing face and wide eyes. “Like I said, we have a lot to do. Let’s go.”

With that, she took her hand and pulled her away with her. Rainbow, who was dragged away by her, was still blushing. This time for thinking about what Spitfire told. Soarin, kissing her? That… looked like a dream come true! And the thing that was making her blush was the fact that she was imagining it uncontrollably.

“Oooh, looks like someone is thinking about good things!” said Fleetfoot and dragged her out of her daydream. Rainbow’s eyes widened as she heard her. Could people read each other’s mind? Cause if they could, she were so dead!

“Congratulations,” said Soarin with a deep frown.

“Congratulations? For what?” asked Rainbow with a surprised tone. In her mind, she was begging Soarin to open his furrowed eyebrows. He looked scary like that.

“Well, wasn’t it you who shouted that you’re in love with someone?” said Soarin with deeper frown.

“Uh, Soarin it’s… it’s not as you thought. You see she-” Spitfire tried to explain but was cut off by Soarin.

“No, no, it’s totally fine. I’m happy for her,” said Soarin as he tried to open his brows. With a sad sigh, he picked his head up again and smiled at Rainbow. “I hope he’ll love you as much as you love him.”

Rainbow’s sharp eyes quickly caught the sadness in his eyes. “Soarin, you-”

“No, really. I really am happy for that guy,” he said quickly.

“But-”

“Rainbow, I meant it.”

“Now let me say something. It was just an idiotic dare Fleetfoot had set up. I had to tell Spitfire that I’m in love with a guy. She said that I can’t do it because Spitfire won’t believe it but Spitfire and I won the bet,” said Rainbow in a way that even Fleetfoot and Spitfire believed it.

“Yeah, she’s right. We were trying to tell you but you didn’t listen,” said Fleetfoot.

“You mean that you don’t love any boy,” said Soarin with a hopeful tone.

“Of course not,” answered Rainbow in a kind tone. Then she turned to Fleetfoot with a grin and said, “Now give me that thirty dollars you promised.”

“WHA-”Fleetfoot screamed… almost. “I mean, oh, yeah! Here.” She gave Rainbow the money with a glare that said, ‘I’ll take it back from you in the right time’.

Rainbow took the money and snickered as a good plan crossed her mind. “Hey, how about eating a good ice cream with this money?”

“Yeah, count me in,” said Spitfire immediately. This caused Fleet giving her a deadly glare. However, the glare was short lived as Soarin looked at Fleet.

She lost herself when she felt everyone was looking at her and blurted out, “Yeah, I’m in too.”

“Then what are we waiting for?” said Soarin happily. Spitfire started walking and Soarin soon joined her as they made their way out of the school. 

After Fleetfoot made sure that Spitfire and Soarin were far enough, she gritted her teeth and said, “I’ll get that money from you. I swear I’ll do it one day!”

“Till that day, I’ll make the most fun of this money Fleet,” answered Rainbow as she bounced her eyebrows up and down. Then before waiting for Fleet’s answer she started to make her way to Soarin and Spitfire who were making their way out of the school.

“Where were you?” asked Soarin as he saw Rainbow beside him.

“I was just behind,” she answered. 

Soarin smiled upon seeing her beside him and thought, ‘I would have been dead if she was actually in love with someone else.’ Seeing her cute little smile and beautiful face and maybe a tint of potion all worked together and made him wrap his hand around her waist and pull her closer to him. 

On the other hand, Rainbow’s eyes grew wide as she felt the warmth of him beside her but she didn’t do any specific action to get away from him. By the way, why would she do such idiotic thing when it was one of the things she wanted badly? So she just let her herself melt in his arm and drown in a pleasant heat that was mostly centered in her cheeks. Behind them, two girls were giggling as they saw everything that happened in front of their eyes.

However, a girl who was standing few miles away from their small group, could ruin everything in just a blink. Yes she could. She could do it very good when she was burning in jealousy.





“Two chocolate ice creams, a vanilla ice cream and a milkshake, is that right?” asked Ms. Cupcake.

“Yep, that’s right,” answered Spit happily. Fleetfoot glared at her and muttered another curse under her breath. Her act not only offended Spitfire but even made her grin!

She was annoyed because her precious money was wasted for nothing but she was angry at Spitfire mostly because she was the person who agreed to eat ice cream AND also, got the most expensive thing in the shop. Rainbow had gotten a chocolate ice cream, something she liked the most and Soarin who wanted to show that he’ll do whatever she did, had gotten the same. But dislike them, Fleet had gotten something with the least price which was vanilla ice cream she hated so much. But on the other hand was Spitfire. She had done almost the same thing that Fleet did. The difference was that she had gotten the most expensive thing she could find and that was what made Fleet curse her silently.

“Yum! I should really thank you Rainbow for the special treat!” said Spitfire to Rainbow but she was looking at Fleet as she said that.

This time Fleet let out an angry groan and huffed but didn’t open her mouth at all. Spitfire snickered and went back to sipping her milkshake. “Was that money that important to you Fleet?” asked Soarin.

“Um…well, kinda. I mean it was all of the money I got for this month,” said Fleetfoot. Although that was the truth but that sure wasn’t the reason of her angriness. Anyone who knew Fleet also knew that if there’s one thing that she doesn’t care about, it’s money. Soarin knew that too but he did nothing but raising an eyebrow at her.

However, all of Soarin’s concentration was taken away as a pair of arms were wrapped around his neck. Then someone’s chin was rested on his shoulder. “Hey Soar Soar!”

Soarin’s expression visibly changed to an annoyed one as he recognized the owner of the voice. “Can you put your arms away from me Fury?”

“Oh, come on Soarin! I’m your girlfriend why should I do this? This is common between two lovers.”

“As you said, two lovers. Do you really think that we’re lovers?”

“Of course we are! I love you more than the world…”

“Stop right here. I don’t care if your ‘love’ is real or not. All I know is that you may have some feelings for me but I sure don’t,” said Soarin quickly.

“That was a good joke Soarin,” said Fury with a snicker.

“That wasn’t a joke. Why don’t you stop lying to yourself? Why are you torturing me by being my girlfriend?” said Soarin angrily. He put Fury’s arms away from himself and stood up in front of her.

“I’m not torturing you. I’m just your girlfriend because I love you,” said Fury with a smile. Rainbow silently cursed her and slap her in face in her mind. ‘How much someone can be idiot? Doesn’t she really understand that everyone here hate her? Especially Soarin.’

“Well, I don’t love you. In fact I hate you. Now let me go,” said Soarin with an angry tone.

Fury snickered again. “Oh, you don’t understand what you’re saying. I know you love me. C’mon, don’t hide it!”

“I swear I haven’t seen anyone more idiot than you in my life,” said Rainbow as she stood up as well. “Is there something wrong with your mind or are you really dumb? Is it that hard to understand that he hates you?”

“YOU SHUT UP!” screamed Fury.

“No, you shut up!” said Soarin. “In this entire time we were together, I was idiot enough and let you say whatever you want to Rainbow but if you thought that things are as the same as before, I gotta say that nothing’s the same anymore.” He looked at her with so much angriness that even made Rainbow scared of him but Rainbow took a deep breath quickly and put her hand on his arm.

“Soarin…” she called. “Thanks.” She smiled kindly at him and right in front of Spitfire, Fleetfoot and Fury’s surprised faces, kissed him on the cheek.

Soarin, on the other hand, froze in place as Rainbow kissed him. His eyes grew wide and a light blush appeared on his face right as his big smile turned to a grin. He took a deep breath and turned to Fury again. This time with a much calmer expression but with seriousness. “And now you,” he said. “I wanted to do this for a while now but before now, I didn’t have the conditions. Now that I have, I wouldn’t waste a second.”

“What are you trying to say? That you love me?” said Fury with a hopeful tone.

“Are you kidding me? With that kiss, are you still thinking that he has feelings for you? Which he never had…” said Fleetfoot.

“Exactly. I think we all know what is he trying to say,” continued Spitfire.

“I wanted to say that,” started Soarin and wow, he finished simply too, “We’re through.”

“WHAT?” screamed Fury.

“You heard me. We’re through. I wanna break up with you. There never was a proper relationship anyway. I feel sorry for myself that I had to have my very first relationship with someone like you,” said Soarin coldly.

“You can’t break up with me,” said Fury with a winning smile. “Your mother will be at my side. She won’t let you do it.”

“But did you forget the promise my mother made? I AM allowed to break up with you if I’m already in love with someone else,” said Soarin with a winning grin that was even bigger than Fury’s. 

“Wait… you’re… you’re… in love?” asked Fury unbelievably.

“Well, at least it looks like you’re not as idiot as you seem,” said Fleet.

“Of course yes. And believe me, she’s the best girl in the entire world so you’d better exit my life fully ‘cause I won’t be caring about you even a bit. And know that if you try to make her uncomfortable in anyway, I’ll make your life miserable,” said Soarin in a dangerously low tone.

Fury shook her head in awe and opened her mouth several times but nothing came out. Then suddenly, she started crying and ran out of the door before anyone could catch her. However, Fury wasn’t the only one who left there with sadness.

Rainbow who had heard everything, (obviously,) also stared at the space in front of her with a blank expression. Then she glanced at Soarin and others and said, “E-excuse me, I g-gotta go.” She quickly ran to the door and in simple words, stormed out of Sugarcube Corner. She just couldn’t believe her ear. Did Soarin really said that he’s in love? What a terrible thing…





“I didn’t think making Rainbow kiss Soarin was that hard,” said Pinkie as she munched her cupcake along her friends at Sugarcube Corner.

“Of course it wasn’t. We didn’t do anythin’ at all,” replied Applejack with a roll eyes.

“But at least we’re sure that the love potion isn’t in her body anymore,” said Rarity as she sipped her tea.

“Don’t be sure about that either,” said Sunset as she rubbed her temples. “I think I forgot to say that she had to kiss him on the lips… so now our job is even harder than before. Didn’t you see the things? Well, Soarin did meant Rainbow by that girl he talked about but Rainbow didn’t know it herself, did she? Therefore, she won’t get close to him for some time.”

“Well, shouldn’t we do something?” asked Twilight.

Sunset sighed. “Exactly but…”

“NO!” shouted Pinkie. “I’m still not done with this cupcake.”

“We don’t have time darling,” said Rarity. 

Applejack grabbed Pinkie’s wrist and dragged her with her. “Ya can eat yer’ cupcake in the way but Rainbow can’t kiss her boy in the way!”

Girls rushed to the door of cafeteria and tried to get out of there as soon as they could. They were soon out of the door and were running toward school with all of their power.

“I don’t think we’ll catch her,” said Twilight between her pants.

“We’re already close to school. Maybe we’ll be able to catch her on the way out,” mumbled Fluttershy as she tried to keep up with her friends. Right at the moment, girls reached school. They waited a few seconds to catch to their breath and then they all rushed inside.

“Please be there. Please be there,” begged Sunset silently.

“Okay, we’re at school. Now what?” asked Twilight.

“Ooh! Ooh! Me! Pick me!” said Pinkie enthusiastically.

Twilight sighed desperately. “Okay Pinkie. What do you wanna say?”

“Well that’s easy peasy. Where does a sad and none smiling Rainbow goes?” said Pinkie.

“Um…gym?” Twilight guessed.

“More like an empty class,” replied Sunset.

“Wrong,” said Pinkie in a singy-song tone. “Duh! She’d go to the band’s practice room. That’s obvious.”

“Yep… obvious,” muttered Applejack.

“Then what are we waiting for?” said Pinkie.

“Good point. Let’s go,” said Twilight as others and she made their way up the stairs where the band’s practice room was. After they reached there, Twilight poked her head inside and quickly stood straight.

“What was there?” asked Rarity in a low tone.

“Rainbow,” answered Twilight simply. “She’s sobbing. Probably she’ll hate us if we walk through the doors.”

“Then what should we do?” asked Fluttershy.

“Maybe we should just walk in. She can’t cry forever. Somehow we’ve gotta convince her that she’s been wrong,” whispered Applejack.

“Yeah but how?” whisper-shouted Pinkie. Others glared at her immediately. She smiled sheepishly and whispered, “Oops, sorry.”

“We just can’t go inside and tell her that she’s the girl Soarin’s been talking about. It’ll ruin everything,” whispered Rarity.

“Maybe…” mumbled Twilight. Then she grinned from ear to ear and snapped her finger. “I know what to do! Let’s go in. Just leave it up to me.”

“Who’s out there?” said Rainbow in shaky voice due to her crying.

Fluttershy stepped in front of the doors and spoke up, “Um… It’s us Rainbow. We’re… um… sorry. We didn’t want to bother you. We just…um … wanted to check on you.” Others stepped behind her when she ended her explanation.

Rarity was the first who walked through the doors. She walked up to Rainbow and put her hands on her shoulders. “We saw everything. We’re deeply sorry about what happened.”

Rainbow didn’t answer. She just sniffled and stayed quiet. Rarity shot a worried glance toward others and let them know that she needed help there. Twilight quickly caught that and began speaking, “You shouldn’t just sit and cry, you know.”

Rainbow looked up and glared at her. Applejack who was beside Twilight mumbled, “Not helpin’ Twi.”

“I didn’t mean to be harsh. No. What I meant was why cry when you can do something?” said Twilight again.

“There’s nothing I can do,” said Rainbow in a tone that was hardly audible.

“Yes there is. You can do a lot of things. You can stand up and be the tough girl you’ve always been. You can go ahead and tell him you love him,” said Twilight.

She glared at her again. “No I can’t Twi. Didn’t you hear him? He’s already in love with someone else. Confessing to him will only ruin our friendship.”

“What if that girl wasn’t someone else? What if he made it up himself?”

“No he wouldn’t. He knows Fury will tell everything to his mother. He wouldn’t take any chances.”

“But what if that girl he’s in love is someone we know? Like… you?”

“No. It can’t be true. He wouldn’t ruin our friendship like that.”

“Friendship? Are you kidding me? Is there anything left of friendship between you two?”

“Maybe not for me but he still sees me as his best friend.”

“Are you sure? What if you’re that girl?”

“No I’m not!” By this point both Rainbow and Twilight were on the verge of shouting.

“But what if you are?” asked Applejack suddenly.

“Then… then…” mumbled Rainbow.

“Then you should tell him that you love him,” said Twilight much lower than her previous shouting.

“But if I wasn’t that girl? Then our friendship will be ruined forever!” said Rainbow.

“As Twilight said before, we can’t call it a friendship anymore, darling,” said Rarity.

“I… have an idea. It might work,” said Sunset.

“What is it?” asked Twilight curiously.

“Well you see, both of you are right. Twilight’s right about confessing but on the other hand you’re right about not wanting to ruin the friendship between you and him. So maybe you can confess to him indirectly,” she explained.

“What do you mean?” asked Rainbow in a low tone. She was starting to find some hope.

“How about this? Just walk up to him and kiss him!” said Rarity excitedly.

“What? No way! That’ll never make things right. It’ll just make it more awkward even if he agreed to stay my friend after that,” said Rainbow with bright red face and wide eyes.

“Well, I didn’t meant it to be like… that. Something more… indirect… I guess?” said Sunset.

“Like what?” asked Twilight. The whole room went quiet as everyone thought of a way to help their friend. On the other hand Rainbow’s new built hope was fading because three minutes had passed and no one spoke up.

“Maybe… using Bluey’s idea from before would help… but… um… I’m… not so sure.” In the wide, quiet room Fluttershy’s voice seemed louder than ever. Maybe that was why she said the final part in a whisper. Though the whisper still could be heard clearly due to the silence in the room.

“Bluey’s idea? What idea?” asked Applejack.

“Um… the one about music,” said Fluttershy.

“Fluttershy you’re genius! That’s it! We can find a music for Rainbow. Something she knows. Then she can play it for Soarin. This way, she doesn’t have to speak directly to him and nothing would be awkward,” said Twilight happily.

“Yeah, but what song? It should be something all lovey dovey. I don’t listen to that kind, you know,” said Rainbow as she stared at Twilight with hopeful eyes. Maybe this was going to work after all.

“Then why don’t give us your MP3 Player darling? We can search through your songs and pick something appropriate,” suggested Rarity.

“That’s a good idea. There must be something there that you know and matches the situation,” said Sunset. Rainbow sniffled for one last time and reached her pocket. She gave the MP3 Player to Twilight and watched as her friends started searching her songs and commenting on them. A small smile appeared on her face. This was going to be alright. She could feel it.





“I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!” screamed Pinkie excitedly.

“Darling, we understand. There’s no need to scream. Though you’re not the one who’s supposed to be excited…” said Rarity. She said the last part as she looked at Rainbow who was pacing back and forth nervously.

“Rarity’s right. Slow down Dash, ya know everythin’ will be alright,” said Applejack who was watching Rainbow.

“What if everything wouldn’t go alright? What if it went disastrous instead of alright?” said Rainbow in loud tone due to her worry.

“Darling, you know the lyrics and you’ve played on the stage before. Nothing would go wrong,” said Rarity reassuringly.

“She might have played on the stage before but the reason of her worries are the fact that she had never played a confession song before. Duh! That was obvious!” said Pinkie with a shrug. Girls’ glares were all she received after she was done talking.

Rainbow, on the other side, stopped walking and sat on the solid ground. She wrapped her hands around her knees and rocked herself with pure worry. Fluttershy who was the closest to her was the first to notice so she quickly hurried to her and hugged her.

“Oh Rainbow, there’s no need to worry. Even if as Pinkie said it’s your first time playing a confession song. It’s like playing any other song. All you have to do is go out there and sing,” she said with a kind tone.

“Fluttershy’s right. It’s exactly like the other times you sang. Like the time you went out there and sang for Soarin about Fury. You didn’t feel nervous then. You shouldn’t right now,” spoke up Twilight as she placed a hand on her shoulder.

Rainbow looked up to see her friends. “But it was Fury. I don’t have to feel nervous when I’m singing about a jerk. But now… it’s different.”

“Then what about the time Soarin and you sang together for Bluey?” asked Sunset.

“We sang together. Not for each other,” answered Rainbow. “What should I do?”

“Is there anything we can do for you?” said Fluttershy carefully.

“I… don’t know. Only if there was a way that Soarin wouldn’t hear me from the beginning, then I might have done it well but it’s impossible,” said Rainbow and put her head back on her arms as she ended talking.

“Hmm… nothing’s impossible…” mumbled Twilight. “NOT EVEN THIS ONE!” she suddenly shouted with a big grin. Whoever knew Twilight, also knew that when she was like this, it meant that she had an idea.

“Okay?” said Sunset with doubt.

“This would work if we’re not late. News probably had spread through the school, that Rainbow’s having a free ‘concert’. There would be a way if the news hadn’t caught Soarin’s ears yet. We can tell Spitfire and Fleetfoot to inform him when you had already started. This way, Rainbow would do the concert well and everything would be okay,” explained Twilight.

“But what if he had already heard the news? Then what?” asked Rainbow nervously.

“First, DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO BE THIS PESSIMISTIC? Second, then we can Spitfire and Fleetfoot to keep him away from here till the…‘concert’ starts,” said Twilight with a happy smile.

“Wow,” said Sunset as she scratched her head. “Some solutions of some problems are so simple that I wonder why didn’t they come to my head?”

“That’s obvious too. There must be something wrong with your brain. Duh! Simple,” said Pinkie indifferently.

“Yeah...” said Sunset with a glare to Twilight who was snickering.

Twilight quickly stopped snickering and mumbled something like, “Let’s call Spitfire before it gets late.” With the first words that Twilight said, everyone went quiet and listened to the conversation.





Spitfire, Fleetfoot and Soarin were sitting in one of the benches in the yard. Soarin had his head in his hands. Like the times he fought with Fury. The difference was that this time there was no Fury. It was only his worry for Rainbow.

The words that Spitfire had told him rang in his ears again, “Idiot! Even if she was a little bit interested in your crazy behavior, she lost her hope. You knew the girl you were talking about was Rainbow but she didn’t know it herself, you know.”

‘Ugh! It’s not helping,’ he thought. He already knew he had made a dumb mistake and he didn’t need reminders. He needed help.

“Okay… fine… you can trust me. I’ll do it right… thanks for informing us Twilight… bye,” Spitfire said to Twilight who was talking to her on the phone. “It was Twilight Sparkle,” she announced.

“What was she talking about?” asked Fleetfoot.

“Oh, nothing special. She just said a concert’s coming up. Ra-I mean… a girl is confessing her love to someone and she told us that it’ll start in a few minutes,” said Spitfire.

Soarin sighed. “That boy must be lucky. I wish the same thing would happen-”

“-for Rainbow and you. Yeah, yeah, we know,” said Fleetfoot with a roll of eyes.

“All I can do know is watch how that girl gets together with her love while-”

“-you don’t. Yep, we know this too.”

“Can you please not interrupt me?” said Soarin with a glare to her.

“Can you two please start going already so we can reach there at time?” said Spitfire as she grabbed both Fleet and Soarin’s arms and made them stand up.

“Fine. Let’s go,” mumbled Soarin with a sad sigh.

“Yeah, let’s go!” said Fleet happily without paying attention to Soarin’s regretful tone.

But Spitfire did pay attention and got sad at her brother’s sadness. She walked up to him and put her hand on his shoulder. “I know how you’re feeling but maybe all you have to do is explaining everything to her. That’s why you broke up with Fury anyway. It’s time to not only tell her about what you said back at the Sugarcube Corner, but also about your feelings for her.”

“I know but… but…”

“You’re scared?” Soarin nodded and looked at her like a lost child on a street. For a second, he looked like the little boy he used to be. Spitfire smiled like a true, supportive, big sister and continued, “I know but you can’t just wait forever. You know mom will start searching once she found out what you did to Fury so you have to have Rainbow as your girlfriend before she gets angry.”

“Do you think it’ll happen?” he said with a big grin.

“What?”

“Rainbow as my girlfriend. Wow… just imagine it! Rainbow… Rainbow Dash… as my girlfriend… it’s like a dream come true!”

“It will happen if you just take the plunge,” said Spitfire with a roll of eyes.

“Then what are we waiting for?” he said with an enthusiasm that came from the thought of having Rainbow as his girlfriend. He started running after Fleetfoot to catch up with her.

Spitfire sighed in relief and muttered, “Glad he was way confidence and optimistic that he didn’t ask what would happen if she rejected him…” However, she started walking after the two till she caught up with Fleetfoot.

“Whoa! What did you tell him that made him like that?” asked Fleetfoot with wide eyes as she stared after Soarin who had even gotten past Fleetfoot and was almost at the school doors. 

“Nothing. Just convinced him that he should tell Rainbow or he wouldn’t be able to do so ever again,” said Spitfire with a smile.

“So… what’s the true story?”

“What?”

“Why did Twilight call you?”

“I said the truth. Just… an edited version of truth. She said Rainbow’s planning on singing a confession song for Soarin and it started the moment she called. She told me that I should make Soarin wait a bit till the start of song cause Rainbow would feel nervous with Soarin around. That was all.”

“Ooh!...” said Fleet. “I can’t wait to see the look on Soarin’s face when he’d find out that ‘girl’ who was performing a confession song was Rainbow and the ‘boy’ who was her love was only him!”

“Yeah, it’ll be something funny!” said Spitfire with a snicker. “By the way, the music room is just around corner. I’m glad at least Soarin waited for us there.”

They walked up to Soarin who was waiting impatiently for them. If it were up to him, he would have burst through the room. Probably, he was just waiting for them so he wouldn’t be alone when he walked through there.

“Can you hear the music? I can’t wait to see who’s singing!” said Soarin excitedly.

“You don’t know and you can’t wait. What would you do if you knew?” mumbled Fleetfoot in an inaudible tone.

“Did you say anything?” asked Soarin.

“Who? Me? No. You must have imagined you’ve heard me,” said Fleetfoot in an innocent tone.

“Whatever. Let’s go in,” said Spitfire and stepped into the room before Soarin and Fleetfoot. Fleet soon followed her and then Soarin as the last one.

He stopped in his tracks once he saw the singer.



“Rainbow…” he mumbled. She was staring at the entrance door when Soarin entered. A smile appeared on her face as she saw Soarin at the doorway.

But Soarin… he didn’t move when he saw her. He didn’t even smile back when she did. His expression was blank. He was showing no specific emotion but Rainbow was way more focused on the song to notice him. She just kept singing happily, thinking that Soarin would know the meaning behind it easily.

Once the song ended, everyone in the clapped for her and she grinned happily at them. Most of the students left when the song ended and only few stayed. But Soarin didn’t care about them. He had already started walking to where Rainbow was.

“Hey,” he said to her with a strange tone. Like… sarcastically?

“Hey,” mumbled Rainbow with a faint blush.

“So… I heard a ‘girl’ was singing to confess her love for a ‘boy’.”

“Oh… yeah…”

“Well, if you’re the girl, I wonder who’s the boy?”

“Well, you see…”

“BUT I DON’T CARE!” he said in an angry tone.

“Wait… what?” asked Rainbow with shock.

“Didn’t you hear? I don’t care. Spitfire said it was someone important, now I see it’s not true. By the way, I have some serious job to do. You know, that girl I love wouldn’t stay forever. I have to tell her already,” said Soarin in an indifferent tone. Then he turned around to leave. 

“Soarin… wait…” said Rainbow.

He turned back again and looked at her with a glare. “Is it more?”

She looked at him coldly and walked across the room where a boy with a smirk was watching. She stood exactly next to him and announced, “Yes. There is more. I just wanted you to meet my date to the party the day after tomorrow, Dark Night. I believe you two had already met. Just wanted to tell you who am I going with.” 

Her tone was so cold that almost made Soarin shiver. But almost…. His jaw was clenched but he smiled teasingly when Rainbow was done talking. “Like I said, I don’t care.”

“I don’t care as well.”

“I guess that’s the end then.”

“If you want to be through with every single girl you’ve ever met, yeah, of course. That’s the end.” With that, Soarin looked at Rainbow Dark Night sneeringly and just turned around and walked away. And with those simple words, a strong friendship was easily ruined and even Rainbow’s watery eyes or Soarin’s fists couldn’t fix it.




“Ouch! That was bad…” mumbled Twilight who was watching Soarin and Rainbow.

“Yeah… that was a bad one,” answered Flash who was standing next to her.

“I don’t think they’ll ever be the same friends they used to be. Even if they work things through,” said Twilight with a sad sigh.

“Don’t you think that she needs advice or comfort or… I don’t know, something along the line?” asked Flash.

“I… don’t think it’ll be necessary right now. It’s better to leave her when she’s upset. She doesn’t really like it when others notice she’d been crying. I’ll go to her when she got over it,” she said.

“Okay, fine,” mumbled Flash.

There was a silence afterward. Neither know what to do or say. Well… not exactly. Twilight knew. She was just too… chicken to start the conversation. Especially in the way she wanted it to be.

“So… hey, what’s up?” said Twilight with a smile that was supposed to be sweet but looked more awkward. ‘Was this the way to do it?’ she thought as she tried not think of  the true name of ‘it’ but she failed miserably as the word ‘flirt’ echoed through her mind over and over.

“Oh…uh… nothing… new?” said Flash more in a questioning way. “So… what about you?”

Twilight tried to smile sweetly again. This time it was closer to a ‘sweet’ smile. Maybe a little too sweet…. To complete the job she started playing with her hair. That seem to work because his eyes went wide and he gulped.

“Oh, nothing special…” said Twilight with her sweet smile. “So… the party’s coming up…”

“Yeah…” muttered Flash.

She was getting close to it… just a little more… “So… asked anyone yet?” she asked with the same maneuver. She just added biting her lip to it.

Flash raised an eyebrow. Things were starting to get clear for him. So she was trying to flirt? Then he exactly knew what to do. With a smirk, he leaned in. Closer than he’d ever been with anyone. Even Twilight herself. “So you’re ‘flirting’, right?” he asked.

Twilight’s eyes went wide and she gulped nervously. “I-I… y-you… I… g-guess?” she stuttered.

He chuckled softly and said, “That’s what I thought.” Twilight just kept staring at him with widened eyes. It was as if he had found the restart button of her brain and pressed it. The only thing was that the information hadn’t loaded completely yet. “I hate to say it, but you’re really terrible at this,” said Flash.

“I… I…”

“But,” Flash cut in before she get to stutter more. “I can show you how it’s done.”

“W-what?” said Twilight in a low, surprised tone. Her eyes widened even more if that was possible and a bright blush colored her cheeks.

“You heard me… so?” said Flash as his smirk got bigger.

“I-I… don’t k-know…” she mumbled.

“Well, here’s an option. I’ll do it and if you didn’t like, I’ll stop,” he said. Twilight didn’t speak a word. She couldn’t. She was frozen like a statue. He took the silence as ‘yes’ and started doing his ‘job’. 

He started doing it by caressing her cheek with a finger. Her blush instantly deepened and her smile that she had form earlier completely faded. The only thing on her face was an awkward expression and blushing cheeks. “So, you were asking ‘bout my date, huh?”

She gulped hardly. “Yes…” she whispered in a very low tone that was hardly audible but Flash’s sharp ears caught it as soon as they were out of her mouth.

“Then I guess you still haven’t met her. And that make me surprised,” he said. “You wanna know about her?”

“Yes…” This time, the answer was even lower than last time and it was more a squeak than a coherent word.

“She’s the most beautiful thing around,” he murmured. “Her eyes sparkle like stars at night, which reminds me, she’s my star in the endless sky. Did I also mention that her smile lights up my world and her blush is what makes me continue living?”

“Oh…”

“Did I also mention that her name is Twilight Sparkle?” he said with a dazzling smile. “Twi, will you be my date for the party?” he asked with a smiled that could melt stone, let alone Twilight’s heart.

“I-I…” she stuttered again but she quickly put herself together. The information in her head had finally loaded completely. “Yes…” she said in a dreamy tone.

He winked at her and said, “Thanks.” Then he quickly kissed her cheek and went away. Twilight could swear he still had the dazzling smile on his face but that was the last thing on her mind since she was trying to wrap her around all of the things that had happened all at once.

Flash’s flirting… his words… his dazzling smile and… the kiss… they were enough to make any ordinary girl crazy. But of course Twilight was no ordinary girl but still… she stood there frozen and when she finally organized all of the new information in her brain, her knees wobbled and she fell to the floor with her still widened eyes. “Wow…” That was all she could say after that.

“I know, right? He really does have a talent in this one,” said Rarity with surprise as she stood next to the bewildered Twilight. But she started giggling as she saw Twilight’s face and the way she was scattered on the ground. “Looks like he really banged your head and disappeared in a flash!”

Twilight turned her head to the giggling Rarity and muttered something that made Rarity laugh even harder, “What just happened?”

“Wow! He really did something to you!” said Rarity between her giggles. But Twilight didn’t answer. She only sat there with wide eyes and dropped jaw. Rarity who found out that she wasn’t even hearing her, decided to snap her out of her thoughts... well, more like daydream. “Twilight, darling, put yourself together. Your clothes will get extremely dirty if you keep sitting on the ground!”

Twilight snapped out of her thoughts as Rarity talked. She shook her head to get the thoughts out of her head, although she knew it was impossible to get them away from her even for a second. Rarity was right… not completely about the clothe part but she was right about the other part. She had to put herself together. “That… that was… he… I…” she tried to speak but failed instantly. It was like she had lost the ability of making a clear, correct sentence.

“No need to talk darling. I saw and heard everything. And although your overreacting, but it’s okay since it’s the first time you’ve been in this situation. Also, considering that you’re already in love with him, yes, it’s totally normal for you,” said Rarity soothingly.

“Wow…” said Twilight once again and went back to fade into horizon.

Rarity giggled once more and walked away as she rolled her eyes. She couldn’t do anything for her but to leave her alone and let her figure things out on her own. She didn’t want to question her actions and the things that had happened before her own eyes and make her look more awkward than she already was… If it were even possible!

“Dashie! There you are!” said Pinkie happily as she saw the rainbow haired girl that was getting closer. Then, she sat back on the sit and waited for her to get closer. They were sitting on one of the many tables in the yard. The weather was good and most of the students were outside.

Others exchanged a worried glance as they saw Rainbow, but didn’t say anything and waited ‘til Rainbow got close enough. She had a big frown on her face and her hands were made into a fist. Anyone could tell that she was furious. Of what… well, no one knew.

“Hey… Rainbow…” said Twilight carefully.

“Hey,” she whispered angrily.

“So… what’s up?” said Twilight. She tried to sound casual but she wasn’t that successful. Rainbow mumbled something inaudible under her breath that looked like some kind of grumble but that sure wasn’t what Twilight was expecting.

“We… saw everything yesterday,” said Rarity carefully.

What she said was exactly like a nudge to a super angry wild animal. The kind of nudge that makes the animal attack the one who touched it. “HOW DARE HE DID THAT? I WAS POURING ALL OF THE EMOTIONS I’VE EVER HAD FOR ANYONE INTO THAT DAMN SONG AND THEN HE JUST HAD TO COME UP AND SHOUT! AND THAT WASN’T ENOUGH FOR HIM. HE JUST HAD TO MAKE ME GO AND ASK THAT STUPID CURSED DARK NIGHT TO BE MY DATE. AND THAT WAS WHEN HE LET ME GO… I… I… HATE HIM!”

Rarity looked at others nervously. Except from fear, anxiety was visible on her face. She was clearly blaming herself for her friends sudden burst. “Darling… I’m… I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to-”

“I know Rarity. I feel much better now. I just had to say these all aloud,” replied Rainbow in a sad, low tone. She started sniffling and curled up to a ball just like how she did the day before in the music room. Others exchanged another worried glance and sat still, not knowing what to do. Just as yesterday, Fluttershy went by her side and put her hand on her shoulder.

“Oh Rainbow… I’m so sorry this happened… I wish… we wish we could do something,” said Fluttershy sadly.

“Actually, there is a way,” said Twilight. “Rainbow can just tell Dark Night that yesterday’s incident was just a misunderstanding and she didn’t mean what she said.”

Rainbow looked up and glared at Twilight as she ended explaining her idea. “No way! I have to show Soarin I don’t care about him. I have to make him see that I don’t care about that idiot girl he’s in love with. This time, I won’t let him hurt me. You’ll see it!”

“But sugercube, he’s yer best friend. Ya can’t be like that to him,” said Applejack.

“Yes I can, and I will. You know why? He’s not my best friend anymore,” she said sternly. She wiped few drops of tears that had escaped her eyes earlier and spoke up in a determine tone, “I’ll show him. I’ll show you.”

“But you still care for him,” said Sunset who was sitting silently ‘til that moment.

“Are you kiddin’ me? Of course I don’t,” said Rainbow. At first her voice was determine but at the end of her sentence, it was more doubtful than determine.

“Yes you do. Don’t deny it. Just say it,” insisted Sunset.

“NO! I DON’T!” she shouted angrily.

“Lying to yourself will not make things better. If you wanna lie to us, don’t lie to yourself,” said Sunset in a calm tone.

Rainbow’s angry face turned to a surprised one as she heard what she said. Then she shifted her gaze to the solid ground with a sad and thoughtful expression. “You’re right… I do love him even now. I… I even love him more now…if that’s even possible. But just… seeing him getting angry because of the probability of me having a boyfriend… someone other than him… it-it makes me have a sweet feeling in my heart. Though at that moment, I didn’t care about that feeling and just started shouting…” she said as she trailed off at the end.

“Wow, the potion had made her really girly,” whispered Twilight to Sunset.

“Well, it’s obvious. She ate three chocolates. But this is not her girly part that’s making her like that. It’s the real love that’s making her like this. I never thought real love could be this strong…” whispered back Sunset.

“Are you even sure this is true love? It’s the first time you’re trying the love potion you know.”

“Yeah, I’m sure this is true love. Through my experiments I found out that hatred will weaken the love potion. It can weaken it to the point the potion goes away… almost. And that doesn’t matter if you really hate that guy you’re in love with or not. Once you say it out loud, the love potion will weaken. In Rainbow’s heart, the love potion is at its weakest point so, when she said that with all he did she still loves him… it was her true feelings excluding the potion.”

“Wow…”

“Yeah, I know. Right? Love is really strange but once you get to see and feel it even if you don’t do it with your own heart, you’ll find out how special and sweet it is. And as I said, you don’t really have to experience it yourself.”

“Yeah… I guess,” said Twilight in a low tone. Her thoughts were quickly drifted to Flash. She wasn’t in love with him but she did have a crush on him and she knew it. But with what she saw from Rainbow and the things Sunset said… she was having doubt that even her crush was real! It was like… all of the feelings she felt toward Flash were nothing in front of the real love. ‘And they really aren’t,’ thought Twilight.

She looked up to watch Rainbow. She could help her. She was in love. For real. Maybe at first it was only the potion that was effecting her but this lately, it was her own heart that was leading her. It was as if… the potion had only made her realize what had been hidden in her heart and the rest were only her real reactions.

Rainbow, however, got bored after she saw that each of her friends were busy talking to each other and decided on some alone time, where she could sort all of her thoughts and emotions out. So she stood up and walked away with a sigh. She walked to the other side of the yard and sat down on a bench. She wrapped her hands around her knees and rested her chin on top of her knees.

She tried to think of everything, but it was as if all the memories from previous minutes and the ones from yesterday had been cleared from her head. The only thing in her head was Twilight’s offer.

Was it really the best thing to do? Should she really tell everything to Dark Night and make him forget everything about her? Maybe… After all, it wasn’t good to play with someone else’s emotions just to satisfy herself. But then again… she had to show Soarin that doing that to her was wrong. But how? How should she do it in another way?

“I don’t know. I just don’t know,” she mumbled under her breath as she put her forehead to her knees and shut her eyes tightly.

“Can I help?” asked Twilight as she sat next to Rainbow.

“I don’t even know this. Everything’s just really complicated,” said Rainbow as she rested her chin on her knees again. “Why did you come here? I thought you and Sunset were talking.”

“Yeah we were but our conversation ended,” said Twilight.

“Oh, right…” mumbled Rainbow. They both went silent after that and thought of different things. For Rainbow, memories of yesterday and Twilight’s suggestion and for Twilight, things she was about to ask Rainbow.

“How’s it like to be in love?” asked Twilight suddenly. 

Rainbow who was pulled out of her thoughts, glanced at Twilight with wide eyes and asked, “Being in love?”

“Yeah. How’s it like?”

“I’m… not sure. It’s kinda like when… you love someone?”

“Huh?”

“Like friends but much more. You see, friends get annoyed of each other from time to time. So does lovers, but it’s kinda different. When you get annoyed of the one you love… well, you don’t get that annoyed. You know, everything about him will be beautiful to you. Even when he annoys you because… well, he had made an effort to do it and he had done for you and not someone else. Even if what he had done wouldn’t be something good. If you really love him, you’ll take them all with pleasure and jump around the room just because he had given you that and not someone else.”

“But that’s not possible!”

“Twilight, not everything can be proved by science! Some things can’t be proved at all.”

“Then… what about yesterday? I mean, he got angry with you but you got angry too. You didn’t seem happy.”

“Yeah, I wasn’t happy on the outside but in the inside, it was the best thing I could ever receive. But from getting angry, I understood that my love isn’t really a real love because if it were, I would have felt happy and nothing else.”

“Wow… you sounded really sappy…” mumbled Twilight.

She sneered and glanced at Twilight who was watching her curiously. “Can you believe that I don’t care anymore? Me… Rainbow Dash… don’t care about being mushy… who thought that?!”

“Yeah… who would have…” whispered Twilight.

“So… is there any way to fall in love like… faster?”

Rainbow snickered. “Yeah, you can ask Sunset to give you some of her potion. She’ll be more than happy to do so!”

“Except she thinks I had drank that…” she mumbled.

“Huh? Wait… you had drank love potion?”

“No! I mean, that’s what Sunset thinks. She thinks the potion is making Flash and I fall in love but we’re both just acting. But I don’t want fake love. I wanna experience everything you said without some kind of crazy potion,” said Twilight with a frown.

“All right, all right!” said Rainbow with wide eyes. “I guess… affection can make love… I don’t know. Has he ever stood for you? Like when some bullies went to you?”

“Bullies? They… usually don’t come to me.”

“How about you? Have you ever stood for him?”

“Me? Why would he need me standing for him?”

“You’ll never know.”

“Well… no.”

“I think it might work if you support him when there’s a trouble in the way. Maybe… you’re even in love and you don’t know!”

“I… don’t think so. I don’t think I even have a crush on him…”

Rainbow laughed a bit. “Silly Twilight! It’s obvious you like him like… A LOT! If you’re comparing your feelings with the things I told you then I have to say that even if you feel a little bit of any of the things I told you, you’re most likely in love.”

“Maybe… I’ll check myself next time I hang out with him!” she joked. Rainbow and she shared a chuckle and then they both went silent again. This time, Twilight’s head was thoughtless. The only thing she was thinking about was when she would hang out with Flash again. She couldn’t wait to see if she really was in love or not.

Rainbow’s mind, however, was completely different. Not only the thoughts in her head had lessened, but they had even increased after her talk with Twilight. They were so much that she felt like she couldn’t take that all in anymore. “Do you think your suggestion will work?” she asked suddenly.

This time, it was Twilight’s turn to be pulled out of the daze she was in and stare at Rainbow with wide eyes. “Suggestion? What suggestion?”

“You know, the one about telling Dark Night.”

“Oh, that.”

“Yeah…”

“Why wouldn’t it work?”

“It will most likely work, it’s just that I feel like playing with his emotions just to show Soarin what he did was wrong, isn’t the best way. But on the other hand, if not that, then what?”

“You’re right about not playing with his emotions. And there are a lot of ways. You can just act cold around Soarin… I don’t know, maybe even do the things he hates. That’s what pisses him more. Though, if I were you, I would have just go ahead and find out that girl his in love with. Who knows? Maybe after you meet her, you’ll see what he likes about her and what he doesn’t and you can imitate that girl. Rainbow, you’re closer to him than anyone else. Even more than Spitfire. Maybe he would fall for you instead of her then. But still… the choice is yours…”

“The thing is… now that I’m thinking, I miss him sooo much. I wish I wouldn’t say those things yesterday. I wish I’d just made him stop and told him he was the one I was singing about not an idiot stalker who had been after me ever since the school started…”

“Then… I think apologizing is the best way. C’mon, life’s short! If you don’t do it now, then you would regret not doing it for the rest of your life.”

“It’s hard Twi, it’s really hard. But… I’ll try. I just have to wait till the storm goes away.”

“Storm?”

Rainbow chuckled. “Yeah, storm. Last night Soarin’s mom called my mom. She was pissed off about Soarin’s breaking up with Fury. Though my mom calmed her down, she said that she would come to school today to see ‘how the things are’… Soarin’s in hot water, oops!”

“Ooh…poor him…” said Twilight with a chuckle.

“Thanks for the help Twi. I would have been Rainbow Mushy if you weren’t around!” said Rainbow as she stood up.

“No, thank you. I would have gone crazy if I didn’t talk to you. I hope everything will go fine,” answered Twilight with a smile.

“Thanks. I wish the same for you too. I’m gonna walk for a bit. See ya later!” said Rainbow as she started to walk away.

“See you too!” shouted Twilight after her. She smiled and stood up. Now she knew what to do. She wanted to spend more time with someone she liked like… A LOT!





Rainbow poked her head into the gym and scanned the students there. Some were playing soccer and the others were either watching or cheering them but one thing was for certain; no Dark Night.

“Do you want anything?” asked one of the students who was passing by and saw her.

“Have you seen Dark Night around?” Rainbow asked.

That girl grimaced and looked at Rainbow with surprise. “Dark Night? Why would you want to see him?”

“I… need to tell him something. But… why did you made that face?” asked Rainbow curiously.

“No one wants to see him. He’s so… scary. Mysterious. All of the students in his class know it, but if you’re still eager to find him, I last saw him in the library. He was… after a girl,” said that girl with a low tone.

Rainbow’s eyes went wide at the mention of another girl but kept herself from asking any other question. “Thanks,” she said. Then she left the gym. Maybe she was lucky enough and caught him with that girl. Then there would a good reason for her to end that stupid date thing.

She ran through the hallways and muttered ‘excuse me’ whenever she bumped into people. Some students pulled apart as they saw her running, the others either glared when she bumped into them or stared at her with surprised looks.

Eventually, Rainbow reached the library and stood behind the doors to catch her breath. After few deep breathes she opened the doors slowly and closed them behind her. Library was silent and the only sound was sound of pages that were flipped from time to time. When she started walking, her shoes made quite loud sound that echoed through the library. No one seem to mind it but it was still awkward.

She tried to be as quiet as possible as she peeked at each bookshelf to see if the person she was looking for was there or not. Finally, she found Dark Night at the very end of library but as soon as she saw him, she wished she wouldn’t have done that.

The scene in front of her was just… disgusting. Rainbow grimaced after seeing that and poked her tongue out as that scene played in front of her eyes again. How could he do such thing? It was so… gross! She didn’t know how could he do this but she knew that if she were instead of the poor girl he was kissing, she would kill him first and then herself for being trapped in that kind of situation. The thing was that girl didn’t seem so disinterested either and that made it much creepier. Eww!

‘C’mon Rainbow. This is your only chance. If you don’t go out there right now, you’ll miss your only chance,’ she thought. She took a deep breath and stepped out. She wished that he would notice her soon. She didn’t want to watch that scene. It just made her feel sick.

Unfortunately, the two seemed to be so busy with each other that they didn’t even feel the presence of someone else there. She frowned and felt her breakfast was starting to come back to her throat…. The last thing she could think of was clearing her throat to get their attention, and she did so.

They quickly perked up when they heard the sound from Rainbow. Dark Night’s eyes went wide as she saw Rainbow’s disgusted look. He quickly let go of the other girl and stood straight. “I… I can explain!”

“No need to do so. I saw enough. That was what I was going to tell you anyway. That I would never in a million years go to the party with you,” said Rainbow with a frown.

“But-”

“No buts. That’s my finale decision.” She turned around to leave. She shuddered as she remembered what she saw there again. She would never ever choose that kind of boy as her date. The kind that cheated behind your back and wanted to show themselves innocent when you caught them red handed. 

Rainbow was making her out of library when someone grabbed her wrist form behind and yanked it to the opposite direction. She turned her head and saw that it wasn’t anyone else but Dark Night. “What the hell are you doing?” she whisper-shouted because they were still in the library.

“Taking my date back,” he whispered back with a frown.

“I don’t remember you asking me if I wanted to be your date or not.”

“Now I ask.”

“And my answer is no.”

“Sorry but I got my answer yesterday.”

“Hey, genius, I just said that yesterday to run away from Soarin and you know it too, so now let go of me.”

“C’mon Dashie, don’t deny it, I know you love me,” he said with an evil smile.

Rainbow’s eyes went wide. Dashie? No one dared to call her like that. Only her friends and Soarin when they were alone… Soarin… if he were here, he would have definitely show this jerk who’s the boss. And what did he say? She’s in love with him? What kind of idiot would think so? Rainbow and Dark Night? That was ridiculous!

“Me? In love with you? Sorry, but I haven’t gone crazy yet,” she said with frown. She pulled her hand away from his and hardened her glare at him. She was starting to get a little scared too. At that moment, they were in one of the study rooms around library. Unfortunately, those rooms had a spell that made them sound proof from inside and outside. And it meant that no voice could get out of that place. 

“Now let me go. Even if I had just a little bit of interest in you, it all went away after I saw what you were doing,” said Rainbow as she struggled to get free.

“Let you go? Why would I? It’s just you and me here… I would never miss this opportunity…” he said with an evil smile that scared the life out of her. She was dead. There was no doubt.

“Let me go or I-”

“Or you what? Call your hero? He’s away now. He will never come around you again. He wouldn’t do anything either. Why would he? You’re with someone you love.”

“No…” whispered Rainbow. She was terrified now. She shouldn’t have looked for him. She shouldn’t have even fought with Soarin. If she just stopped Soarin yesterday, he would be there to protect her. But it was late and there was no time for regret. “HELP!” she shouted but she know it was useless. The small study room was sound proof…

“Yeah, shout! No one will hear you here anyway…” he said with a laugh.

But of course he was wrong…

Door flung open to show a furious boy that was standing there. Rainbow felt like the entire world was given to her as she saw him. Dark Night though, stepped back with wide eyes.

Soarin walked up to him and gritted his teeth in anger. “What the hell were you about to do?” he said in a dangerously calm voice.

Dark Night who had sorted the events in his head, smirked and said, “Both you and I knew what I wanted to do. But if you want me to explain, then I’ll do this happily.”

That punch that went straight for his jaw was what he really deserved and both Soarin and Rainbow knew it. Dark Night though, went wild with that. He was about to punch Soarin when he grabbed his wrist and squeezed it with all of his power. Soon, Dark Night was whimpering in pain. It made Soarin smile at him teasingly and squeeze his wrist even more.

“There they are!” said a voice from behind. Soarin soon recognized it as her sister’s voice.

“Mr. Skies and Mr. Night, end it now!” Voice of Vice Principal Luna boomed from Soarin’s back and he quickly let go of his wrist. Dark Night fell to his feet as he started massaging his wrist. Form above, Soarin looked at him with disgust and smirked teasingly as he thought of how weak he was.

“As we said Vice Principal, it was clearly Dark Night who was trying to… abuse Rainbow,” said Fleetfoot as she shuddered at the last part. Her calm voice was nowhere near as Spitfire’s panicked voice or Soarin’s angry actions. She always knew how to control herself in difficult situations.

Vice Principal kneeled down beside Rainbow who was sobbing and shaking in fear. “Is she right Ms. Dash?” she said softly.

Rainbow looked at her and shook her head slowly. Then she went back to her sobbing. Vice Principal Luna stood up with a big frown on her face and looked at Dark Night who was now glaring at Soarin. “You, Mr. Night come with me now. My sister has to know all about this, so you’d better not waste a second.” Dark Night looked at them for last time and followed Luna with gritted teeth.

When they left, Spitfire who was resting her back against the doorway, slid down and put her head in her hands. Fleetfoot let out a sigh of relief and sat beside Spitfire. But Soarin who had been staring at Rainbow ever since Luna talked to her, quickly ran to her. He didn’t waste a second and hugged her tightly.

Rainbow who was still sobbing, squeezed herself into Soarin. She wrapped her hands around him and let him comfort her. After few minutes, Soarin helped her stand up. Slowly, he helped her get out of library with Spitfire and Fleetfoot right behind them. He led them all to cafeteria where they could sit and get something for Rainbow to eat.

The cafeteria was completely empty when they entered. The only person was Granny Smith who worked there. Soarin quickly sat Rainbow on a table nearby and sat next to her himself. “Fleet, go grab something sweet from Granny. Hurry up!” he said nervously. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked at him curiously.

Fleetfoot was soon back with a chocolate bar in her hand. She looked nervous as well but it was more like Soarin’s hurry had made her twitchy as well. Soarin grabbed the chocolate and gave it to Rainbow. She chewed the chocolate and felt the lost energy went back to her body. After few seconds, she put the chocolate away and looked at Soarin.

“Thanks,” she whispered.

“It was nothing,” said Soarin as he squeezed her tighter. “Are you okay now? Do you need anything?”

“Why do you ask?’ said Rainbow as she lowered her head and put on a small frown. It wasn’t that she wasn’t enjoying it. No, in fact, it was like a dream come true, but she couldn’t forget events of yesterday either.

“Oh… that…” he mumbled. “Look, I’ve been looking everywhere for you to tell you that I’ll do whatever you say, just to get back what I said. You can punch me, you can make me do whatever you want, just please, please, forget whatever I said to you yesterday. I’m so sorry that I said those. Please forgive me,” he said quickly.

“What made you think so?” said Rainbow with her frown but her tone was incredibly calm.

He scratched his head and mumbled, “Well…”





(Earlier That Day)

“I thought he got over it,” Fleet whispered to Spitfire.

“He was about to, if mom let him,” answered Spitfire with a frown similar to one on her brother’s face.

“What was it this time? Another girlfriend?” she asked.

“Huh! I wish!” said Soarin with a big frown. “That idiot Fury had told her everything. She said she’ll come to school to see my new ‘girlfriend’ and as she said, I’d better told Fury the truth cause if not, I would be stuck with that idiot again.”

“But you don’t have a girlfriend. You ruined everything yesterday. No offense though,” said Fleet.

“None taken,” he said with a roll of eyes. His expression went sad immediately and he continued, “But yeah, your right. I did ruin everything. Now that I’m thinking, that boy might have been me myself if I just waited for her. It was obvious that she chose Dark Night randomly.”

Fleetfoot gasped. “D-dark Night? WHEN? HOW?” she shouted with fear.

“How come?” asked Spitfire.

“Well, you went out ‘cause you ‘didn’t want to see mushy scenes’ but you missed the fight between Rainbow and I. I know I told you everything but I think I forgot to say that she choose Dark Night as her date for party,” said Soarin sadly.

“But it was completely obvious that she did that on purpose. Rainbow would never ever choose that jerk for anything,” said Spitfire quickly.

“Oh no. OH NO! Does she know that she had gotten herself in deep shit?” said Fleet with wide eyes due to fear.

“Fleet, what do you mean?” asked Soarin.

“You guys probably hadn’t heard that but all of the students in his class, including me, know that any girl that gets close to him has to be either idiot or willing to do any kind of… thing,” she said.

“Wait… if Rainbow did that yesterday then…” mumbled Soarin with wide eyes.

“Uh-oh…” said Spitfire with wide eyes. 

Three friends glanced at each other but didn’t say anything. That was until few seconds later Soarin suddenly shouted, “WE HAVE TO FIND RAINBOW. NOW!” They all ran in different direction as they all thought of the same thing; Rainbow was in trouble.





(Present)

“It was Spitfire who saw you. She thought that maybe, maybe, maybe you might be in there and she checked there. She got in time though. She saw how Dark Night was pulling you to that room while you tried to get free. She called me before anyone, and I ran there as fast as I could. She, herself, went to Vice Principal’s office and got her there and… you know the rest,” explained Soarin.

“Wow… but that still doesn’t answer my question. What made you think you’re sorry?” said Rainbow.

“I was an idiot yesterday and I understood that the moment I stepped out of that room. Today, when I came to school the first thing I wanted to do was apologizing you. I know you’ll never ever forgive me because it wasn’t even my place to talk but still… I’m extremely sorry,” he said with regret visible in his eyes.

“And what made you think that?” asked Rainbow with a raised eyebrow.

“Rainbow, I told you I’m-”

“I meant, what made you think that I wouldn’t ever forgive you?” she said again. This time along her raised eyebrow, there was a smile on her face.

Soarin looked at her with shock but after few seconds, a huge grin broke on his face and he hugged Rainbow tightly. She smiled while she was there. She couldn’t have ever find a feeling better than the one she felt when he hugged her.

“I never said I forgive you, you know,” she said with a smirk that was invisible to Soarin.

“Ha! You can’t trick me this time. I know you did. You’re can’t fool me again!” he said happily. She giggled too and rested her head on his shoulder as she hugged him back. After few seconds, they separated and looked at each other with a smile.

“Soarin, mom!” said Spitfire with an urgent tone. That single word was enough to make Soarin’s eyes wide and look quickly at his sister who had her eyes locked on her cell phone. “She said she wants to have lunch with you and her after school. She knows that today school will end before lunch time.”

“Soarin and… who?” whispered Rainbow.

“Well, that’s the problem. Idiot Fury had told my mom about that girl Soarin was talking about at Sugercube Corner and now she wants to take me, Soarin and that girl out for lunch but the thing is that such girl doesn’t exist,” explained Spitfire.

“So you mean everything you said yesterday at Sugercube Corner was just a lie to get Fury out of your face?” said Rainbow with happiness that came from the hope she had.

“Yeah… kinda…” mumbled Soarin sheepishly. He shifted his gaze back to her and stared at her beautiful, magenta eyes with his own pleading eyes. “And now your best friend needs your help. Do you know any girl that’ll be willing to act?” he asked.

She hummed for a few seconds as she thought about the perfect idea that had entered her head. She smiled and looked back at him. “I might have. I’ll just need time, then I’ll tell you result before the end of school.”

He looked at her with a thankful smile that almost melt her heart. She stared back into his eyes with visible love in her own. Too bad Soarin didn’t understand the feeling that lay there.

“So…” said Rainbow suddenly. “I’ll go to… find that girl I told you. Meet you soon!”

“Okay. See ya,” he said with a smile.





“Come in,” said Ms. Firefly to the person who knocked on the door. She was having a good time relaxing after work. Her job that day wasn’t hard and she had spent most of her time in her office, resting. It was really good that school got everything easy for students at Hearts & Hooves Week. Although it was going to be over soon but it had been a fun, relaxing time for both teachers and students.

However, she was getting kinda bored of sitting in her office alone so she was more than happy to have a visitor. The door opened up and Firefly’s daughter stepped inside. She had a thoughtful expression. Like she was thinking of something really hard.

“Rainbow! What are you doing here? Have you hurt yourself or anything?” said Firefly with a worried face.

“Hurt myself? No, I didn’t. It’s not like all your visitors are the injured students, mom!” said Rainbow with a raised eyebrow. “I just came here to… talk.”

“About?”

“Things.”

“Like?”

“I don’t know. Boys… maybe?”

Firefly raised one of her eyebrows. “Boys? How come the great Rainbow Dash wants to talk about boys?”

“Mom!” said Rainbow with a fake glare. “I thought you knew everything.”

“About you being in love with your best friend… yeah, I know everything. Even more than you,” she said. “So what do you wanna talk about? Your feelings?”

“No. It’s just that… Soarin needs help and… and…”

“And the girl in love with him will do anything to help her love, right Dashie?” said Firefly with a wink.

Rainbow flushed and answered, “Um… yeah.”

“So what does he need?”

“You know, Ms. Cloud, Soarin’s mom had gotten angry last night because of Fury. Soarin had broken up with her yesterday and she had went to his mom and told her everything. It’s just that Soarin made a fault and told Fury that he loves someone else to get her away. Now Ms. Cloud wants to take Spit, Soarin and that girl, that doesn’t exist at all, to lunch. He asked me to help and I…. well, I thought that maybe… maybe…”

“Stop right here. You wanna act as Soarin’s lover? Cloud will definitely suspect it since Soarin and you had said no about being girlfriend and boyfriend before. She wouldn’t believe you.”

“Why? Am I not in love with him now? What’s the difference?”

“Rainbow, I know you love him but most likely, Cloud would find out her son had lied to her the minute she see you together. Go and tell Soarin you can’t help. Tell him it’s better for him to ask one of those many girls that are head over heels in love with him. It’s better for both of you.”

“Mom, why can’t you understand? See him introduce another girl as his girlfriend? I can be the one he introduces and you say another girl? Then what’s the difference of Fury and that new girl?”

“What if he didn’t love you? What if he introduced you as his girlfriend and left you afterward? Did you even thought about how he’s supposed to act? He might be something more than a friend to you but to him, you’re still just a friend. Don’t forget that,” explained Firefly calmly. 

Rainbow’s expression changed to a thoughtful one as she thought it over. Her expression changed to a determine one as she finally made up her mind. “Not if there’s no other girl he can’t take,” she said firmly.

“What’s in your mind?” asked Firefly cautiously.

“He left me in charge to find a girl for him. If I just tell him there was no one good enough, he would act along,” explained Rainbow.

“But-”

“Mom, this is the best way! I just have to be that girl.”

“If that’s what you’ve been planning on from the first place, then why did you come to me exactly?” said Firefly as she rolled her eyes playfully.

Rainbow frowned comically but quickly smiled and added, “You helped a lot Mom. Thanks.”

Firefly smiled lovingly at her daughter. “Of course Dashie. Just… tell me what happened when you got back home, okay?”

“Yeah, sure. I’ll need help for things that’s gonna happen after this so I have to tell you everything,” she said with a smile. This time, her smile was sincere because finally, she was going to get something she’d been dying to have; Soarin.





“Bye girls!” said Twilight as she waved her hand for them and walked away. The day was perfect and filled with incidents. Both good and bad. She winced as she thought of some of bad things that had happened. Like how Rainbow was trapped in a study room with a jerk. But she smiled as she recalled what her friend had been telling them. About how Soarin had apologized and how she was going to act as his girlfriend.

Rainbow sure was getting things planned. But sooner or later the potion had to get out of her body. While Rainbow had been away, girls have met up with Bluey and she said she could help. Eventually with different suggestions from girls and the ones that came through messages from Fleetfoot, they had found a good main plan and a plan B. But to tell the truth, not only they had come up with a plan B, but also they had plan C, D, E and F!

Therefore, everything was planned and perfect. For Rainbow, at least. Twilight had just told them that she’ll do it herself. But in fact, she had no idea about this. She was completely stuck and didn’t know what to do. She was still hopeful though. Flash and she had met each other earlier at school and Flash had asked her to a second date. Therefore, she had some time left to think about the things she was about to tell him.

She sighed and tried to organize things in her brain. There was just a lot there. She just couldn’t go up to him and tell him they have to kiss each other just so others will believe that there was no potion inside of them anymore. It was just so… awkward! So embarrassing! They could easily act like they were doing it, but even thinking about it made Twilight blush. She just hoped Flash would be smart enough to find it out with the signs Twilight wanted to give. Before she would have to say the exact sentence.

She took a deep breath and raised her head to see if she could Flash or not. It was at that moment that she bumped into something hard. 

“Ow!” she mumbled. She looked up to apologize that person but she was left there stunned when she saw Flash’s smiling face.

He chuckled. “We should really stop bumping into each other or one of us will end up in ER!”

Twilight chuckled awkwardly and scratched back of her neck. “I’m sorry, really.”

“Don’t be,” he said with a smile. Twilight’s eyes went wide at this and he chuckled at this. Then he pointed to the school’s entrance with his head and said, “We’d better get going before another accident happens!”

She flushed but followed Flash. Her blush deepened when Flash wrapped an arm around her. She bite her bottom lip and smiled as she glanced at him. He was smiling as well. Twilight looked up to see where they were going.

They made their way out of school when suddenly Twilight stopped in her track and didn’t move anymore. Flash looked at her with a raised eyebrow to see if anything was wrong. Both of his eyebrows were raised when he saw her staring at something with wide, terrified eyes.

“Twi, is everything alright?” asked Flash. She didn’t answer. She didn’t move an inch either. She just stared at where she’d been staring. Finally, Flash had to follow her gaze to see where she was looking at. It was led to an angry, young man who was glaring at them.

“You’re dead,” mumbled Twilight under her breath as she kept staring at that boy.

“Twilight Sparkle!” said that boy with gritted teeth. 

She gulped and tried to smile. Though it looked very awkward. “Hey… big brother…”

Flash’s eyes went wide immediately. He knew that it wasn’t his place to stay. Not anymore. Too bad he had nowhere to go and nothing to do, so he just gulped and waited for whatever was about to happen. 

“Well, well, well… what do I see? MY SISTER LYING?” he said angrily.

Twilight winced and frowned. “I didn’t lie to you. Don’t make a fight Shining Armor.”

“Well, can you explain this?” he said as he pointed to Flash with disgust.

“That ‘this’ has a name, Flash Sentry. And he’s my boyfriend,” she said as she stood beside him. Flash glanced at her and then looked at the angry Shining again who seemed more shocked at that moment.

“What did you say?” he said in a dangerously low tone.

“You heard me. Now don’t make trouble and let us go to our date peacefully,” she said sternly. Flash’s eyes widened at this. He had never seen Twilight this furious, this serious, this… determine.

Shining cocked an eyebrow. “Excuse me? Date? As if I’ll let you go with this… this… jerk!”

“And how did you recognized that his a jerk while you hadn’t even heard his name ‘till now?” she said with a raised eyebrow like her brother’s. Shining was about to open his mouth when Twilight hold out a hand to silent him. She continued, “You don’t even care who he is or how he’s with me; all you care about is that your little sister is grown up enough to fall in love while you don’t want her to.”

“Because you’re not grown up enough to fall in love. I’ve never had a problem with you having boyfriend. It’s just that you’re way too young for this,” he said with his previous glare.

“Open your eyes Shining Armor. You had your first date when you were my age too. And don’t think I don’t know, I know you had it with Cadance. And now look at you; Cadance and you are still together, so why Flash and I can’t do so?” said Twilight with a winning smile. There was no way for her brother to complain anymore. Well, as she thought though.

He crossed his arms and continued glaring. “And how can I make sure that he’s a good guy, not some jerk who only wants you for… for…”

“Well, let me tell you a little about myself big brother,” said Twilight. She said the word ‘brother’ purposely in a mocking way to annoy him. “I’m Twilight Sparkle. Everyone had known me with the names ‘bookworm’ and ‘egghead’. Not that I complain, but it’s the truth. I’ve always had my nose in different books and didn’t try anything else. Do you know what do bullies call these kind of people? Dorks! And guess what? No one, and I mean NO ONE likes to hang out with a dork. I was super lucky to have Flash by my side. I was lucky that he liked me enough to ask me on a date,” said Twilight angrily.

“So you don’t know?” asked Flash with shock after hearing what she said.

“What?” she asked curiously.

“Probably that he had been with you just to get some cheating in the exams,” mumbled Shining under his breath. He was quickly shut up by Twilight’s hard glare.

“No, I don’t want anything from her, but it’s just that I think that you don’t know what’s going on behind your back. I thought your friend would have told you about this. At least Soarin might have told Rainbow so she would pass the news but looks like it hadn’t been like this,” said Flash calmly.

“Okay?” said Twilight impatiently.

“Guys in the school are all in love with you. You might think you’re a dork, which you aren’t, but you’re beautiful. Very beautiful. And that makes them kill themselves for you,” explained Flash. Twilight flushed lightly when Flash called her beautiful and smiled as she listened to the rest.

“HUH! Did you hear him? He confessed it himself! He’s one of those guys who only wants you for your beauty and he just said it himself,” insisted Shining stubbornly.

Flash cleared his throat to draw their attention. “Actually sir, I never said that I’m only dating her because of her beauty. She’s smart, kind, caring, funny and beautiful. So I have more than one reason to love her.”

Twilight’s blush deepened and she grinned as she heard him. Wiggling her eyebrows for Shining Armor was something she really wanted to do at the moment but Shining’s voice stopped her.

“This still doesn’t mean that you can get my baby sister,” he said with a frown.

“Shining Armor, I am not your baby sister so stop it! I’m mature enough to know what’s good and what’s bad and I don’t need your help in this so just go away,” said Twilight angrily.

“Ms. Sparkle,” called someone from behind. Twilight quickly turned around and found Vice Principal Luna standing there. Her arms were crossed and she was looking at the scene in front of her with a straight face. “Would you please explain what’s this shouting for? Especially in front of school.”

“Um… well…” she mumbled.

“Vice Principal Luna, we’re very sorry. We were just leaving,” said Flash calmly.

“Well, I’m afraid to say that you need stay,” said Luna.

“Excuse me?” asked Twilight curiously.

“Let me make myself clearer; you two both need to stay for detention,” she said simply. Flash sighed and crossed his arms. But Twilight… her eyes got wide after the words sank in.

She was about to open her mouth when Luna hold out a hand and said, “No excuse accepted. Be in the backyard within fifteen minutes.” Then she walked away and left. Twilight was still there frozen like a statue.

“D-Detention?” she mumbled in a low voice.

“Yeah. So what?” said Flash calmly.

“Flash, it’s detention! It’s not some park you play in!” she said.

“Except it is,” he replied.

“What? Have you ever been to detentions?” she asked.

“Have you?” asked Flash with a smile.

“Well, no! That’s what I’m angry about. I’ve never ever been to any kind of detention,” she said with anger.

“Wait… never?” he asked with a bit of shock.

“Never EVER!” she said.

“Well, then I understand you. Don’t worry, it’s nothing to worry about. We’ll just go there together and do this,” he said.

Shining Armor who was watching things quietly, suddenly perked up with a certain word from Flash. He shouted, “Wait, TOGETHER?”

“Well, you heard our vice principal. We’re both on detention,” said Flash.

“Twilight Sparkle, I will not let you go anywhere with that jerk,” said Shining Armor with a big frown to Flash.

Twilight glared at him but spoke up in a calm tone, “Do I look like I care?” Shining’s face was filled with shock after she was done talking. He looked at his sister and opened his mouth several times but nothing came out. She just rolled her eyes and grabbed Flash’s hand. “Come on Flash. Let’s go.”

“Alright?” he said doubtfully. As soon as the words came out of his mouth, she dragged Flash inside with her. When they were finally somewhere out of Shining’s sight, Twilight breathed a sigh of relief.

“Wow, it was quite a show,” said Flash.

“Yeah. And guess what? We have to do that for a while. At least till tomorrow night,” she said.

“Is everything alright?” he asked doubtfully.

“Yeah, except from the fact that Sunset had find a cure for this… thing!”

“Well I sure don’t wanna drink some crazy potion that’ll blow my head.”

“I wish it was just a potion. Then everything wouldn’t be so complicated.”

“So… what’s the cure?” Twilight flushed and mumbled something under her breath. “I don’t think I got it.” She just blushed more and didn’t say anything. He was starting to get impatient so he took a deep breath and spoke up again, “Twilight, it’s okay. Just say it.”

This time, she took a deep breath and mumbled, “A kiss.” It was barely audible but Flash’s sharp ears caught it and when they did, he blushed too.

“Oh…” he mumbled.

“And I guess Sunset will be following us everywhere till we… do that,” said Twilight. “But since we were just acting it all this time, I guess we can act this too.”

“Yeah. I hope so,” he muttered. “But let’s just forget it. We’ll find a way for it when the time came. For now we just have to go that detention.”

“Oh, about that. What is it? Are they gonna lock us in a class room? Or we have to do a lot of paper work or something?” she asked with a little bit of fear of what was coming for her.

He chuckled. “What? No! Of course they won’t lock us in a class. And about paper work, they won’t make us do it. The students with higher crime… maybe. They’ll probably only make us color the fences or something like that.”

“Yeah, I hope so,” she said with fear. Flash just chuckled and shook his head. Together, they went to backyard. Some other students were also there, waiting. As he said, some bottles or color and a few brushes were there waiting for them.

“Okay, now what?” she asked.

A girl there answered her, “We have to color the fences. Principal Celestia will be watching us from her office.” She pointed to a big window that was on the second floor. Principal Celestia stood there watching them.

“PRINCIPAL CELESTIA? I’m so dead!” she said.

“So what are you guys waiting for?” asked Flash.

“Oh, for fun of course!” that girl answered with a big grin.

“Fun?” asked Twilight.

“Yeah fun,” she said as she pointed to a girl who was coming in their way.

“DJ Pon-3?”

“Yeah. Her listening to songs finally got her in trouble but it has a benefit for us. She will play some songs for us while we all work.”

“But what about Principal Celestia? She’s watching you know.”

“Well, I guess she’s gonna have some fun as well,” said that girl with a wink. Then she turned to others and started, “Let’s start the fun!”





“Soarin! It’s good to finally see you!” said Soarin’s mom cheerfully.

“Hey mom. It’s good to see you too, even though the last I saw you was this morning,” he said with a smile and roll of eyes.

Ms. Cloud chuckled. “So where’s this girl Fury and you’ve been talking about? I really wanna see who’s the girl that found her way in the great Soarin Skies’ heart?”

He rolled his eyes again and answered, “She’ll be here in a few.” The way he said it, made Spitfire believe that he had a girlfriend, even though Rainbow never came back to them or called them after Soarin told her everything at Cafeteria. Sure, it looked like he was calm and confident but in fact he was sure he would die if that imaginary girl wouldn’t show up in a minute.

“I’m here!” said someone between her panting. Soarin’s eyes went wide as he recognized the girl’s voice.

“Rainbow?” he whispered in a low tone.

“Rainbow? Wow, I wasn’t expecting that,” said Ms. Cloud excitedly. She went up to her and hug her tightly. “I’m so happy you’re the girl he was talking about. From the way he talked of you, I can tell that he’s head over heels in love with you.”

This time, Soarin’s smile seemed more natural because her mother was completely right. When she had asked about the girl he loved, he couldn’t stop himself and said all of the things he had told Fury with so much love that even dropped Spitfire’s jaw. And now, the one he loved was right beside him. Well, at least he didn’t have to lie to her mom about it.

He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer. “Of course I am,” he said with a smile. Rainbow’s cheeks turned pink as he said it. It was like a dream come true to her. Not only she was in the arms of the boy he was dreaming of, but also he had said that he loved her, even if it were fake.

“Aww! You two are so cute together!” said Ms. Cloud.

“Um… mom, don’t you think we should get going?” asked Spitfire.

“Oh yes! Of course! We can’t be late for lunch. Come on everyone, get in the car,” she said happily. She walked up to her car and unlocked it.

As soon as she walked away, Soarin breathed a sigh of relief and said, “Wow, I thought if I kept this up for another second, I would slip up.”

Rainbow looked at him with guilt and said, “I’m sorry that I made it hard for you.”

Soarin’s eyes went a bit wide from what she said. He turned to her and smiled at her. “I never said such thing. It was just unexpected, that’s all. I’m really happy that you’re here. It’s a lot easier to act because of you.” He smiled more at her. But suddenly he flushed a little and continued, “Just… don’t get offended of the things I’m gonna do. By the way… well… you know, we should act as lovers.”

Rainbow flushed as well but smiled and replied, “It’s okay. I’m prepared for the worst.” Soarin chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

After few awkward, silent moments, Ms. Cloud called, “Soarin, Rainbow, Spitfire, what are you guys waiting for?” They quickly put themselves together and rushed to the car. Spitfire who reached the car before anyone, took the front seat while Soarin and Rainbow were forced to seat at the back.

Soarin wrapped an arm around the girl beside him and smiled at her lovingly. Rainbow blushed slightly at the touch but snuggled closer to him with a small, cute smile. He, also squeezed her tighter as she rested her head against his shoulder and sighed happily.

Ms. Cloud was watching them from the mirrors. She smiled to herself as she saw them like that. It’s always been a dream of hers, to have Rainbow as her son’s girlfriend. Someone he would love and care for the rest of his life. Seeing love radiating from their eyes and every single of their motion, filled her heart with pride.

Spitfire, also, couldn’t help but grin. Rainbow sure wasn’t aware of this but she had chosen the exact right girl for Soarin. Seeing them together happily was made her happy as well. She didn’t know if things would stay like this or not. Maybe Fury would come back again. Maybe things would change, but at that moment, she knew nothing and nobody could ruin the happiness these two had together.
