Link trudged through the Lost Woods, hoping to find his partner. Navi had left after he’d saved Hyrule from Ganondorf and been crowned the Hero of Time, and Link wanted to be with his old friend again. “Hey.” A quiet voice called out. Link looked left and right, up and down, anywhere. Just as he thought it was all his imagination, there it was again. “Hey.” “Navi?” Link called out. “Link!” The voice replied. Link immediately started running through the forest in hopes of finding his partner again. He kept running until he came to a ravines edge. He peered through the fog and saw a mystical blue light. “Link!” Navi called again. This time, it was much closer. “Navi, is that you?” Link asked from across the gap. A sigh of relief could be heard. “Link, I’m just across here. Something is keeping me from going to your side. It’s like something has got a hold of me.” Link had to think on this one. Longshot? No. Boomerang? No. “Navi, I’m gonna try and jump it.” The boy said to the fairy. “What?! No! You might not make it!” “I have to try.” With that, Link moved back to get a running start. When he thought he had enough room, he started running. He kept running until he reached the edge of the ravine. Link jumped, soaring through the air. He reached the apex of his jump and gravity took effect. Link kept moving towards the other side until he hit something. All of a sudden, Link just stopped moving. It was like there was some force that was keeping him from reaching Navi. Slowly, he started falling. Further… Further… Further… “LINK!” Navi shrieked. With a sudden burst of unknown power, Navi broke free. She dashed forward to catch up to her partner and friend. Out of nowhere, a portal appeared, taking Link with it. Navi put on a burst of speed and made it inside before it could close. In the Lost Woods, there was silence once more. *-------*-------* In the Canterlot Throne room, a portal opened above Princess Celestia’s throne. A bipedal creature clad in green fell through, armed with sword and shield. Shortly after, a blue, ethereal parasprite followed. The guards that were in the process of blocking the doors threw their attention onto the newcomers. Unable to leave their posts, they had to watch from a distance. The guard’s job? To prevent the Changelings from making their way to the Princess, that was all they had to do. The Princess stood up from her throne and moved to the new creatures. “That spell was supposed to summon a great warrior! Not whatever this thing is!” She exclaimed in outrage. They were in the middle of an invasion, her sister, Celestia, had been captured at the wedding of Shining Armour and Princess Cadance by the Changeling Queen, Chrysalis. She needed to summon a warrior to assist them, and all she got was a small biped! Stupid summoning spells. There was a groan in the room. The biped was stirring in its sleep. With a start, it opened its eyes and looked around. *Link’s POV* Link opened his eyes, expecting to be dead. Instead, he found himself in a white, marble room. Looking around more, he saw what looked like horses in armour barring doors. No, they were too small to be horses, maybe ponies? They looked like they were ready to pounce on him should a make an aggressive move. Looking to his side, he saw the ocarina of time secured on his belt along with something… blue? His eyes widened. “Navi?” He asked quietly. He got an equally quiet response, “That would be me.” Link smiled “Navi!” He said again, this time much louder. He scooped up the fairy in his arms and gave her a hug. “Link! There are others looking!” Navi complained. “I don’t care. I haven’t seen you in forever!” Link countered. “How about we catch up later?” “Fine.” The two made a move to stand, and in Navi’s case float, but found they were restricted by a dark blue aura. Link could only turn his head, and so he did. Right into the face of a midnight blue pony. It made some noises, most likely trying to communicate with him, but he couldn’t understand. “Uhh, Navi? Think you could try to communicate with this pony?” The boy asked his partner. “I’ll give it a try.” Navi responded. She then seemed to switch languages and converse with this pony in front of them. After a while, they stopped. “Well?” Link asked, “What’d it say.” “She said a couple of things. Most important being her name, which is Luna. She’s also a Princess alongside her sister who is currently captured by Changelings. She’s going to cast a translation spell on us in 3… 2… 1…” “Greetings creature. My name is Princess Luna, co-ruler of Equestria. Your friend here tells me that you are considered a hero. Explain this to me.” The Princess said. “Uhh, sure. My name is Link and I come from the land of Hyrule. There I am considered the Hero of Time after saving the land from a tyrant looking for power.” “Forgive me if I find this hard to believe.” “Would you like me to prove this?” Link asked with a smirk. “…Very much so. You will go up against three of our best guards. Moonlight, Dark Shadow and Stalker, please step forward.” The three whose names were called stepped forward. “Please test this Link’s skill.” The three nodded to their Princess and looked to their opponent. Link was rummaging through his inventory, looking for items he could use. Fairy Slingshot, Deku Nuts and Boomerang. That’ll do. “Ready” Link said with a nod. Moonlight charged towards Link, only to have him jump to the side, no weapons drawn. Stalker took to the air and attempted to dive bomb the boy. Link dived forward and rolled to regain his footing. Still no weapons drawn. Dark Shadow charged up a spell to fire off at Link, the small hero threw a Deku Nut at him. This blinded everyone in the room and Link was able to change his Deku Shield out for his Mirror Shield. His Goron Bracelet allowed him to wield the shield like he would with his Deku Shield. Before the flash could wear off, Link darted behind one of the pillars. With the pillars being close together, this gave Link a plan. He took out his slingshot and shot a seed at Moonlight. The seed bounced off her armour and she looked over in his direction. Quickly diving to another pillar, he once again shot his slingshot. This time hitting Dark Shadow. The unicorn slowly made his way over to the pillar where Link once was. Acting quickly, Link used one more seed to hit Stalker, who immediately flew to the pillar. This made them all group together closely. Using Farore’s Wind, Link made it to the middle of the group, who each looked startled to see him appear suddenly. Link drew his sword and shield and quickly charged up a spin attack before they could recover. Just before the three guards pounced on him, Link released the attack and sent the guards flying. Each being injured and knocked unconscious from hitting their heads hard against the wall. Link walked back in front of Luna. “Now what do you think, Princess?” Luna gave a nod. After getting over her shock from seeing her best three guards being knocked out by a child. “You will do very nicely.” > Battle > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Battle Link and Princess Luna walked through the hallways to the Lunar Princess's private chambers. "Here's what will happen," Luna started, "I will cause a distraction with my guards while you go for Celestia. She should be in the Mess Hall. If you want direct instructions; from my room, the first hall you come across, take a left. Keep going until you reach the end of the hall and go left again. Go right down the second hall you see, and at the end the doors to the hall will be there." Link nodded to show that he was listening. Luna continued giving Link instructions, "Once you find my sister, cut her free with your sword and lead her to me. I will be waiting in the throne room after we run our part." They stopped outside the doors to Luna's room, "A warning before you go, Changelings can disguise themselves so be careful with who you trust." Link nodded once more and entered after Luna. The pair found themselves in a dark room, with the only light being smouldering embers from a fireplace built into the round walls. Luna used her magic to light up a few scented candles for more light. While she would not say it to anyone, Luna was very scared for her sister and nervous that her plan would fail. She turned to the small boy behind her. "I will leave you with this parting gift. As long as you wear this pendant around your neck, you will not be able to be affected by magic of any kind. You may still use your own, but any oncoming spells will be deflected or absorbed into your own mana pool, depending on how powerful it is." The Princess levitated the pendant over to Link, who took it from her magical grasp and put it around his neck. "If Celestia asks for a code to prove that you really are who you say, tell her this; The moon is only a reflection of the raisers spirit. If sad, dim. If happy, bright... That is something I say to her whenever she comments about my moon being brighter than when she rose it in my place." Another nod was the answer that Luna received. "Good. Now go forth and wait for the signal." The two parted ways, Link going to his entry point and Luna to her guards. Link had managed to make it to the rooftop next to the castle's second floor windows without any problems. The only thing he had to do now, was wait. "What do you think, Navi?" The boy asked the fairy. "You'll need to be more exact than that Link." "About this plan. I feel as though it's not going to work as Luna hoped it would." "I agree. It's not the most thought out plan, but I guess that Celestia is the one with the more strategical mind." "Well, no backing out now." "Why not?" "There's the signal." Looking down Links pointed finger, Navi indeed see their signal to move. A magical flare shot up into the sky with two purposes. One, to attract more Changelings and two, to alert Link to start. When he looked closer, he could make out the form of Princess Luna being pursued by hundreds upon hundreds of black, insect-like ponies. Link watched for a bit longer and saw the Lunar Guard emerge from their cover and begin engaging the Changelings, their ferocity on for show. The Changeling ranks wavered before reinforcing themselves under the fierce onslaught of the bat ponies. Green blood and dismembered body parts falling from the sky. There was even a hint of red throughout the falling liquid. "Come on Link. We have to go!" Navi called from a nearby window. Link ran over to it and entered the castle. As he landed and looked around, he saw patrols of Changelings checking the halls for any intruders. Link smirked to himself. Looks like a little mischief wouldn't go unwanted. He took out his slingshot and took a shot at the leader of a passing patrol. It hit perfectly on target. "Ok, why'd ya hafta go and hit me again, Echo?" The lead Changeling questioned. "Sir, wasn't me." The one now known as Echo replied. "Like I would believe you after the past 199 times you did this." The leader approached the other Changeling. "I've had enough of your antics." With that, he pounced upon the other Changeling and started to fight it. The fight soon escalated and more Changelings started getting involved. This soon left Link with a clear path to the doors. He crept past the fighting insects and entered the next room, quickly hiding behind a pillar. Princess Luna's POV Luna was busy overlooking the battle between her guards and the Changelings. That and also defending herself from the ones who tried to attack her. With a burst of magic, she pushed the ones surrounding her away and summoned her battle armour from ages past along with her weapon of choice. A broadsword made out of moonrocks. Sharpened to cut through anything without difficulty. Her sheath was one of the only things her sword couldn't cut through, being made of moonrock itself, along with Celestia's weapon. Luna had named her weapon Moon Render for a reason. Preparing herself against the waves of Changelings charging her, Luna began channelling magic to the blade. When they got close enough and the blade was fully charged, Luna dived into the ranks of the black insects. Using her blade as much as her magic. Her magic threw balls of ice at her enemies or cut through them with beams of lightning. Whenever a Changeling was hit with ice, they would freeze over instantly and fall to the ground bellow, more often then not, shattering into millions of tiny pieces upon impact. the lightning would charge their bodies with billions of volts of pure electricity. Soon, the smell of roasted meat filled the air. This only caused the Lunar Guard to become even more fierce somehow. Couple that with the constant blood from their falling enemies and that almost caused them to go insane. One guard often taking on more than 20 Changelings at a time. Moon Render had been charged with Luna's magic, making the blade go down to absolute zero. Cutting through numerous bodies and freezing any that it got close to. Heads went flying, legs went flying, bodies cut in half, more freezing bugs falling to their doom, and more reinforcements. Luna spotted one Changeling charging at her alone. She smirked at this, after all, what hope does one have when hundreds had already failed. She met the lone Changeling head on, swords clashing making sparks fly off of the Changeling's blade. One advantage to have a sword made of rock is the fact that no sparks came off it from a heavy impact. The Princess was shocked that her sword hadn't cut through the blade, but that shocked expression turned into a battle-crazed grin. "GUARDS! LEAVE US ROOM TO FIGHT!" She yelled out in the Royal Canterlot Voice. The Changeling was likewise yelling out commands to it's comrades. Although not as loud as Luna. Soon, an airspace was cleared around the two warriors, both sides agreeing on an unsaid treaty to watch the oncoming fight. "What is the name of my enemy?" The Princess of the Night asked. She was still yelling, but not in the Royal Canterlot Voice. "General Alpha, Princess Luna." The General replied in the same volume. "Some ground rules for our fight. No magic, and no spectators assisting their leader." "Agreed, Princess." In unspoken consent, the two warriors charged another. Link had managed to make his way to outside the current location of residence for Celestia. At times, he would have to engage patrols to get where he needed to go, but managed to finish the fight before it got too loud. After looking left and right one more time to make sure that no other Changelings would emerge, Link entered the room. Inside was a long table with a large seat at one end with multiple other seats running down the side. The one at the head of the table had the picture of a sun on it and the one to it's right had the picture of a moon on it. Those must be for the Princesses. He continued walking past the table and saw a green cocoon on the roof. Link ran over and cut off it's connection to the ceiling. Looking inside, he saw a white Alicorn with a blue, green, purple and pink mane. On it's flank was a picture of the sun. Princess Celestia. Link quickly drew his sword and start cutting away the cocoon around the trapped Princess. He soon got her free and helped her on her hooves. "Princess Celestia, your sister Princess Luna sent me to bring you back to the throne room. She wants to retake Canterlot with you I presume." Link informed her. "Thank you. How do I know that I can trust you? For all I know, you could be a changeling in disguise and are leading me into an ambush." Celestia replied warily. "She gave me something to say; 'The moon is only a reflection of the raisers spirit. If sad, dim. If happy, bright.' I do not know if anyone else would know this line, but she said that she told you this whenever you ask her about the moon." Celestia nodded. "That is true. Very well, let's be on our way." Link nodded back to her and turned to exit the room. That is, until a voice reverberated around the room. "My, my, my. I don't think I can allow you two to just simply leave now can I?" Link stood protectively in front of Celestia. The voice only laughed at him. "Hahaha. So, the little monkey thinks he can stop me? How funny." With that, a bright flash filled the room. Standing in the centre of it all, was another Changeling. This time, it had a crown on it's head and was taller than all the others. It also had a mane with a longer horn pointing through the part in it. "How about I make an example of you?" It asked. With a bright flash, Link found himself in another room. This one was bare except for a small pedestal at the end of a red carpet that ran fom the door to the top of the stairs. Off to the side, he saw Celestia stuck to the floor from the same stuff that made her cocoon. On his other side, he saw six other ponies, switching between looking at him and the Princess. All six of them stuck like their leader. "Now then," The Changeling said, gaining Link's attention. "How about I show these nine nine? what happens when you try to interfere with my plans." Looking past the bug, Link saw two others on the top of the stairs, both of them stuck. He looked back the the Changeling when he heard a sound like charging. Looking at it's horn, he saw a large orb being created. No doubt to hit him. "Queen Chrysalis! Stop this at once!" Celestia frantically exclaimed. The other six ponies to Link's left looked on in shock. "Oh, I don't think I will." Chrysalis said. With a small shockwave from the spell, signifying it had finished charging, Chrysalis launched it directly into Link's chest. He put a foot back to steady himself and put his arms up to protect his face. With a loud bang and a lot of smoke, the spell connected. Link felt a crushing force from the spell being stopped by the pendant and let out a scream of agony, convincing everyone in the room of his death. The young boy was forced to his knees before the spell dissipated, leaving him shrouded in a screen of smoke. He could hear the Changeling Queen's maniacal laughter sound throughout the chamber. "And that, My Little Ponies, is what happens to those that interfere." She said after her laughter had finished. She began laughing again, allowing Link to pinpoint her location. Equipping his boomerang, he took aim and threw it in Chrysalis's direction. 1... 2... He jumped out of the smoke and caught his boomerang on it's return, rolling to reduce the impact and to quickly get back to his feet. After the spell hit Link, 3rd Person POV Celestia was shocked that Chrysalis had just killed an innocent creature without any remorse whatsoever. Fluttershy was tearing up at an animal being killed while Rarity sobbed into the Pegasus' shoulder. Twilight's mouth agape at the amount of energy in the spell and for the same reason as her mentor. Rainbow Dash looked like she was ready to rip Chrysalis a new one along with Applejack. Pinkie Pie's mane had deflated at the sight in front of her. Becoming a darker shade of pink with the rest of her body. Only some of them heard Chrysalis's next words. "And that, My Little Ponies, is what happens to those that interfere." With that, she started braking out into laughter again. The next thing that happened, all of them saw. A boomerang flew from the smoke, leaving a wispy trail from it's exit, taking off Chrysalis's crown. The Queen immediately stopped laughing and looked around for the source of whatever had knocked her crown off. On the return trip, the boomerang hit Chrysalis on the back of her head. Then, out of nowhere, the biped in green dove out of the smoke, catching the boomerang, and rolling into an upright position. Link's POV "Missed me?" Link questioned with a smirk. "But- but- HOW?!" The Changeling Queen demanded. "My secret." Link answered snidely. "ARGH!" In that fit of rage, Chrysalis charged at Link, eager to make him pay. Acting quickly, Link drew his Kokiri sword and Mirror shield and went on the defense. He stopped Chrysalis's mad charge with his shield and swung at her from behind his shield. He managed in nicking her carapace, but not enough to draw blood. It was still enough to anger and hurt the Queen. "How. DARE YOU!!" She screamed in rage. Links response was to make another slash at her, making her jump over it, and followed through with a thrust when she landed. This succeeded in piercing her right foreleg and drawing blood, make the Changeling Queen limp. She snarled at him before using her horn a sword. Link blocked the weak swing with his shield and used his sword to retaliate. He flipped over the Queen and made a line down her side, drawing even more blood and making the Queen stagger. Link started to dance around Chrysalis, slashing at her, cutting her, stabbing her and making her slower and slower. Eventually, the Changeling Queen fell to her knees, unable to support herself. Breathing laboured, she managed to say one more thing. "I... Will... Never... Lose... To... The... Likes... Of... YOU!" At the last part, her eyes glowed white with power, the immense amount of magic healing her wounds. She spent spell after spell at Link, only for his pendant to absorb it or reflect it. Eventually, the Queen changed tactic. She aimed to the roof above Link and started shooting the marble. After enough time, the roof collapsed on Link leaving him buried under a mountain of rubble. Inside Link's dream Link groaned and sat up. "Navi? Where are we?" He asked. There was no response. "Navi? Navi?" Link repeated, each time getting louder. "You won't be able to find your fairy here." A voice said. "And just where is 'here'?" Link questioned. "In your mind." "Why am I here." "You require some... assistance in your new world. Assistance that would surely not be unwelcome." "What is this assistance." "Why don't you wake and find out?" A bright light flashed in front of Link before dissipating and leaving a familiar sword in a familiar pedestal. The Master Sword. Link approached the sword and stood before it once more. "Again, you will be used in a time of need. Again, you will be used to smite evil." Link said more to himself than anyone else. He grabbed the handle with both hands, and pulled the sword out of it's makeshift sheath. Bright blue light flashed around Link before closing in on him and bringing him back to the waking world. In the Wedding Hall The rubble shifted. Everypony thought they were hearing things, but then it happened again. Suddenly, the rubble went flying through the air and landed on top of Chrysalis. Out of the dust, strode Link. Except it wasn't the Link they knew. This one was as tall as Celestia, maybe even taller, and more matured. In his left hand was a sword with a blue blade and a grey, steel cross guard and grip. The pommel stuck out a little from the handle to signify where it ended. In his other hand, was the Mirror shield. Exactly as it was before. This time, Link was wearing golden gauntlets, and white undergarments. The rubble around Chrysalis disintegrated from her anger. "WHY WON'T YOU JUST DIE AND STAY DEAD?!?!?!?!?!?!" Link smirked, "That would ruin the fun of it." He also had a deeper voice. He crouched down into a battle stance and readied himself. Chrysalis did the same at the other end of the hall. As one, the two charged each other and lunged when close enough with battle-cries echoing throughout the castle and the grounds around it. TO BE CONTINUED! > Princess vs General > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Princess vs General Luna's POV In unspoken consent, the two warriors charged each other. Luna had the advantage of strength and endurance, while General Alpha had speed and agility. Luna thrusted Moon Render towards Alpha. The General used his sword to push the blade away and followed through with a thrust of his own. Luna bent away from the attack and attempted to circle around Alpha to attack his unprotected flank. The General anticipated this and used his magic to move his sword in a complete circle around him. With her attack thwarted, Luna ascended, hoping to have the advantage of height. Alpha followed suit, chasing after the speeding Princess. "COME BACK HERE, COWARD!" Alpha yelled to Luna. "IT'S NOT BEING COWARDLY, IT'S CALLED A TACTICAL RETREAT!" Luna responded. Alpha growled and put on a burst of speed. Suddenly, Luna whirled around, sword following, and struck at the General. The Changeling couldn't stop in time and caught the blade in his right foreleg, drawing blood and severing nerves and muscle. He let out a hiss of pain and retaliated with a blind hit. Luck was on his side, as he managed to hit Luna. However the hit was deflected by her armour. So it was and wasn't. Alpha quickly recovered and went on the offensive, attacking Luna in every form. He rushed her, head butting her in the chest and quickly following up with a thrust from his sword. Luna had to go on the defensive immediately, using her armour as much as her sword to stop any attacks. Alpha flew back a bit to catch his breath before returning to the onslaught. He used his front hooves to nail down on one area of the Lunar Princess's armour. Luna used her blade to get him to back off, but Alpha came back, nailing on another part of her armour. Luna was very well aware of plates cracking and breaking from the constant hoof strikes. Thinking quickly, she used her sword to rush through the air, creating a near impenetrable barrier around her. Alpha tried using his sword to cut through, but it was deflecting from Luna's rapid moving blade. Alpha started circling Luna, looking for any breaks in her makeshift defense. Seeing none, he decided to out wait her. As Luna's blade rounded towards the General, it strayed from its original path and targeted the Changeling. It struck without giving Alpha a chance to move, piercing the front of his armour and his hard exoskeleton. As Moon Render retreated from the new hole in the Changeling, blood came out with it. Alpha staggered, giving Luna the chance she needed to hail attacks on the Changeling's body. Gashes and cuts of different depths and sizes were made in both armour and body before the Changeling did the same tactic as Luna. Luna immediately started waiting for Alpha to try something. It wasn't long before Alpha charged at the Princess again, but this time he still had his sword creating a barrier around his body, causing Luna to fly out of the way. Alpha immediately changed course, following Luna wherever she went. Slowly, Alpha started gaining ground thanks to the battle armour slowing the Princess down. He eventually caught up and the armour was assaulted by multiple strikes from the General's blade. The multiple attacks wore down the armour to little more than an extra layer between the body and air. Luna thrusted her sword in a small opening, stopping the attack and causing Alpha to fall back a bit. With a heave, she sent her armour flying off her body and into Alpha. This dazed the Changeling enough for her to rush up to him and use her hooves in close quarter combat. Using the same strategy as Alpha, she focused on singular areas until the plates were all crushed before moving onto another. The weight behind the attacks caused the Changeling to be pushed away and interrupting his focus on his sword, rendering it useless. With one final strike, Luna shattered Alpha's armour, sending him flying. Once after gaining control, Alpha sped towards Luna, who stayed in place doing nothing. Before Alpha could strike, Luna lifted he foreleg, hitting Alpha in the throat with the hard part of her hoof. Using his momentum against him, Luna succeeded in crushing his windpipe, rendering the Changeling General unable to breathe. Grabbing him by the neck, Luna rushed to the ground. Alpha, focusing on trying to get air into his lungs, was too distracted to notice the ground coming up towards them. With little to no effort, Luna hurled the Changeling to the ground, creating a crater. When the dust cleared, Luna was able to see Alpha on the ground twitching, signifying life. Luna landed on the edge of the crater, peering down. What she saw wasn't pretty. Bones stuck out of Alpha's body all over. Leg bones, snapped, sticking out in random directions, ribs appearing through his sides, wings in tatters. What was most horrifying, was, his horn. It had snapped off, fallen on the ground next to him. However, it was still connected. From an extremely stretched muscle. The one that surrounded the bone that ran through the horn. The same bone that the mana carrying marrow travelled through. Luna walked up to the pitiful sight before her. She stopped right beside Alpha's horn, looking at it. She could pick up his faint, but pained, ragged breathing. The bones had punched another hole for the General to breathe through, but it was still painful. Doing the unthinkable, Luna lifted her hoof... ...And brought it down on Alpha's horn. The cry of pain was forever burned into the memory of all that were present. When Luna brought her hoof back up, all that was left of the once proud General's horn, was multiple crushed pieces of bone. Summoning her sword next to her, Luna moved to the broken Changeling. "Goodbye." *Slice* Alpha's head went flying towards the Changeling ranks, followed by blood, muscle, tissue and nerves. The Changelings at the front lines all reeled back at the sight of their once alive General. Screams of horror could be heard from them as they deserted their army, trying to escape the wrath of the Lunar Princess and her guards. Soon after, the courtyard was clear of Changelings, leaving the Princess of the Night and the Lunar Guard recovering from the attack. "Well, My Little Ponies," Luna said, "I think we won." > Hero vs Queen > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hero vs Queen As one, the two charged each other and lunged when close enough with battle-cries echoing throughout the castle and the grounds around it. Chrysalis used her horn to jab at Link's sword arm, trying to render it unusable. Link brought his arm behind him, protecting it and letting Chrysalis pass by. He span around, unleashing a quick spin attack. Chrysalis jumped out of the way, taking to the air. She flew by Link, hoping to strike him with her hoof. Link caught the hoof on his shield and forced her away. Chrysalis tried again, but this time, using her horn. Instead of using his shield, Link used his sword to catch Chrysalis's horn. There was a brief power struggle, but the Golden Gauntlets Link was wearing shined through in pure strength. He effortlessly threw the Changeling aside and followed her. Slashing in a wide arc, Link tried to catch her unaware, but Chrysalis used her horn once more to stop it. Chrysalis started to channel magic into her hooves, increasing her strength and speed, hoping to outclass the Hylian. She dove forward, trying to catch him off guard, but Link brought his shield up, deflecting the onslaught of attacks. Growing tired of failing, Chrysalis raced back and charged more magic into her horn. She unleashed a beam of energy at Link. Link saw this coming and lifted his shield up again. The beam of magical energy hit his shield dead on, but was reflected by the mirror surface. Directing it towards Chrysalis, Link managed to score a hit on the Changeling Queen. "Come on you insect!" Link taunted, "I've faced harder than you and lived!" Chrysalis let out a primal roar of rage and charged Link once more. She constantly used her longer horn as a sword, but Link used his to stop any and all blows to his person. A slash. Link would parry it. A jab. Link would catch it. Magic. Link's shield would catch it and absorb it. Anything. Link would counter it. Link noticed something about Chrysalis's horn. Whenever he would strike it, either in an attack or in defense, little bits would chip off. It was slowly becoming noticeable that Chrysalis's horn was becoming smaller. With a plan of attack, Link rushed the Queen, catching her off guard. He targeted her horn, trying to render her magic unusable. He slashed and jabbed at it, unrelenting. When he thought he had done enough to cripple her somewhat, Link used his shield to bash her on the head, dazing her and making her smash into a wall. After a time, she stumbled out and levelled a glare in Link's direction. Once after regaining her balance, Chrysalis charged once more at Link. Acting quickly, Link equipped Nayru's Love, making a forcefield around him. Chrysalis didn't see the newly erected defense around Link and ran straight into it. With a smirk, Link sat down on the ground, meditating. The purpose? To get Chrysalis pissed off. It did. "Problem?" Link asked mischievously. In rage, Chrysalis kept on using magic and her hooves to try and find a way through the impenetrable barrier. Every attempt was met with failure, until the field ran out of juice. It went down as quick as it came, causing the Queen to fall on her chest from overreaching. Link changed out Nayru's Love for Din's Fire, making a dome of fire extend out from him. The Changeling was unable to escape the rapidly extending dome of fire and got badly burnt from it. Her wings were burnt along with patches of her exoskeleton, showing soft skin underneath. If I can get close, I can attack at the skin. With another battle plan, Link went on the offensive. Chrysalis was struggling to keep up with the quick moving Hylian, and took massive damage from the attacks that hit her. Left with only one last resort, Chrysalis charged all of her magic into one massive shockwave, hoping to push Link away. Some of the magic was absorbed into the shield, the rest overcharged the pendant Link was wearing, forcing him back. Unfortunately for Chrysalis, the amount of magic she used through her crippled horn practically destroyed it. In a cry of pain, Chrysalis fell down onto one knee, giving a bowing appearance. Link moved towards the Changeling, slowly and threateningly. After 30 seconds, which felt like 30 hours to Chrysalis, Link stopped in front of her. He knelt down and said to her; "Do you surrender?" The Changeling Queen laughed at him through her ragged breaths. "Fool... Do... You... Think... I... Would... Surrender...?" "Then maybe I should show you why you should." Link stood back up and levelled his shield at her. When Chrysalis made eye contact with the reflective surface in front of her, it started glowing with an ominous green. The glow started appearing more frequently and glowing brighter and brighter. Chrysalis's eyes widened in realization of what was happening. Soon enough, Link braced himself and sent the gathered magical burst straight towards the Changeling Queen before him. It hit her head on and a scream of pain could be heard. Chrysalis's breathing grew more ragged and pained. "How about now?" Link asked. "No..." "Well then." Link grabbed her left foreleg in his free hand and proceeded to... ...Smash her around the place. Link flung her into walls, brought her down on the ground, threw her into the roof, smashed windows with her body and anything else that came into mind. Being slammed into the ground did wonders to people's endurance, especially when you're being slammed from someone wearing the golden gauntlets. During all this, Link yelled at the Changeling. "NOW DO YOU SURRENDER?! IT'S EASY TO JUST SAY A COUPLE OF WORDS! JUST SAY 'I surrender' AND WE WOULD BE DONE ALREADY! IT'S POINTLESS TO KEEP GOING. SAY IT! SAY IT!!!! SAY IT!!!!!!!!!!" Finally, Link ceased his efforts and dropped the Changeling on the ground. "Now, I'll only ask once more. Do you surrender?" "Never." "Very well." Link drew his sword once more and readied it at the Queen. He slashed across her face from left to right, then again in the opposite direction before finally pulling his arm back and thrusting his sword in between Chrysalis's eyes. A strangled cry left Chrysalis's mouth before she fell limp, her body no longer able to support her. Link withdrew his sword and sheathed it. A bright light came from Chrysalis's body as she disintegrated before everyone. In her place was a floating heart in a canister. Link walked forward and picked it up, revitalising himself and increasing his strength and endurance. He turned to face his audience, who were staring at him slack-jawed. "Now what?" He asked them. The white unicorn and yellow pegasus fainted from the shock of it all and the others broke out of their trance at the sound of their bodies hitting the floor. They all looked back at Link. "What? Was it something I said?" *Mass facehoof*
