Whole Old Story

I was wondering about the origins of Equis and I would like to hear what you and Princess Luna have to say about it. I look forward to your reply.

Once the purple Alicorn named Twilight finished the letters, she rolled it up and had a small purple and green dragon named Spike send it to her old mentor. Next, she went to Fluttershy's Cottage to ask her to help with Discord.

"No, I won't do it," the yellow pegasus named Fluttershy protested.
"I won't hurt him, I am only going to ask a few questions." knowing that Fluttershy is still reluctant to help she did the only thing that could change Fluttershy's mind. "Cross my heart. hope to fly. stick a cupcake in my eye." Twilight said doing the motions on top of it. Fluttershy still disagreed to Twilight's idea but she agreed to try and get Discord to the local Castle. satisfied, she started to trot off to the Everfree Forest.
Now came the hard part: Getting Luke Darkblade to answer her questions. Luke was a dark blue pegasus stallion with Dark brown eyes and an electric blue mane, but his wings weren’t like normal pegasus wings, they were more like pony sized Dragon wings than anything else. Unlike Discord, who did it just to drive her crazy, Luke hated Twilight's "tests" with a burning passion. He always made the comment that her and Peter were meant for each other or that her and Peter would get along famously. The few things he appreciated about her was that she cared for others, and she is the element of magic for some strange reason. He has never told her why that is or where this Peter was, and why he acted so strangely around Luna. even Luna did not answer her questions on the subject, Luna said something along the lines of, 'you shouldn't put your hoof on that subject until you are ready to have the sun and moon come crashing down on you.'
She walked carefully into the Everfree Forest even though it had calmed down a lot since Luke moved in. Every bit of chaos seemed to vanish when that stallion was in the area, like he was it's executioner and the chaos was sentenced to its demise. Although it was still a dangerous place with the plants and the occasional hydra, cocatrice and dragon. The sun was starting to set as she neared Luke's house She could hear mumbling coming from inside the house.
"WHY?" screamed a familiar stallion's voice, the same voice that mocked her and her tests and the same one that matched her up with somepony she never met, Luke Darkblade was in pain.
Without thinking twice, she galloped up to the door, blasted it down, and ran inside. What she saw was something she wasn't likely to forget: It was a library miles and miles of shelves filled to the brim with books. Luke was curled up on the floor crying while cradling what looked like a picture of thirteen ponies and a newborn foal. It was then she realized that he had lost somepony close to him.
She walked up to him trying to comfort him but he just scooted away from her. This continued until he scooted himself to a bookshelf. "Why won't you let me try to-"
He cut her of screaming "-My family and friends are gone and the ones that are left are either sleeping and never going to wake up or won't even get near me, let alone talk to me. This is all I have left of them." Tears form in his eyes. "All of my friends, my wife, and my daughter were murdered by her!" He yelled pointing his hoof in the direction of one of the many wings of the library, Narrowing his eyes he asked: "Why are you here anyway Twilight?" The calm tone of his question caught her off guard.
"I was wondering if you could answer a few questions about Equis' origins," Twilight replied upon remembering why she was here in the first place. Luke took a deep breath and grew quiet.
"Let's make a deal, I answer your questions and in return, you help me find and awaken Peter." Now it was Twilight's turn to be silent. 'He is actually going to contribute to the race for knowledge, I can't pass this opportunity up though I will need to help him find somepony that is most likely dead and bring him to life. oh well you can't have everything, now can you' Thought twilight before she said, "Luke, you have yourself a deal." Luke just raised an eyebrow.
"Swear on and by Celestia that you will help me" Twilight nodded. "pinky promise?" Now that startled her. he, out of all the ponies in Equestria, shouldn’t know that a pinky promise is the ultimate binding. Luke stared accusingly at her. "don't back out now."
"Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," Twilight said while doing the motions. "There, happy?" Twilight said with a little more steel in her voice than she meant. After receiving a nod from Luke she said, "alright, come to the golden oaks library Saturday at noon, don't be late." She glared daggers at him. "And No excuses!" Luke just shrugged as she left.
upon her arrival at the castle, Spike ran up to twilight screaming, "Twilight! Princess Celestia sent a letter for you while you were gone!" Pulling a letter from behind his back.
Dear Twilight,
I know that you would do Equestria a lot of good with this project but I must ask that you be careful about what you do with the knowledge that Luna and I might give you on Saturday. we will be coming in unannounced if we come.

P.S. it's good to work hard, but it's also good to relax once and awhile.

Everfree Library
Luke almost dragged himself to the desk. trying to get himself comfortable, when he got into the chair he looked at the picture with crying eyes. "Why... why did you guys have to leave me!?" He cried and cried as the memories flooded back to him.
he looked back to the picture that he had and sighed then said in a wounded tone. "I'm sorry. That I failed you.-"
The picture had twelve stallions and one mare, the mare was minty green with golden eyes and a white stripe in her mane, her cutiemark was a white four pointed star with three water drops. Six having the Elements of Harmony and the rest welding the forgotten elements. and a newborn filly 'true the six on their own can stand to their enemies, but to stand a chance against Discord on their own you need at least seven elements. Twilight's friends needed her and Twilight needed Celestia. I, Luna, and Celestia are the last of the living original bearers of harmony.' Luke thought to himself.
“-I wish you were here Lythra." He said, then a shimmering light floated up from the picture and started to shimmer and morph into the shape of the pegasus mare in the picture, her hooves holding her daughter, their daughter.
"Honey. where are we? It isn't the same as our home." Lythra said.
"This is the last building still standing, after." Luke said before starting to cry."
Lythra rushed to him asking, "Why are you crying? Why would my warrior cry so easily? What happened to you?"
When Luke finally stopped crying he said, "my armor was weakened the day that Nightmare Moon killed you."
Lythra gasped at this, then asked, "then why am I here?"
Luke just looked up to her and said, "I need you, I cannot go on like this."
Lythra laid down and said sympathetically, "Luke, I Love you, but you need to move on, I will always, be with you." Then Lythra started to sing as she disappeared.
When the song faded away also a hole in Luke's heart only deepened as he started to cry. "WHY?" Luke screamed.
There was a knock at the door.
"Hello? May i come in?" Said a familiar Draconequus voice.
“Might as well since you never listened to me before.” Luke deadpanned, wiping away his tears. the door slammed open. and Discord walked in.
“Don’t cry Luke. she may be gone, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be happy…” Discord’s face stayed completely neutral. Teleporting Luke into a hug he continued. “I simply cannot imagine what it must be like to lose the one pony that you loved more than life itself.”
Discord had crossed the line. A fine line that even Celestia herself didn’t dare to cross, and the worst part. Discord was right. He loved her more than life itself. Discord never could imagine what it was like. And what was even worse… he saw somepony that looks exactly like her every time he goes into Ponyville.
“How far would you go to get her back?” Discord asked smugly fully expecting some type of reaction like ‘I can’t do that to another pony.’ or ‘that is impossible.’
“How much chaos do you think I should use?” Was all Luke said. He could clearly see the surprise in Discord’s face.
Twilight Sparkle
Golden Oaks Library
Twilight was in her bed when there was a knock at the door. groaning she went to answer it. but when she opened the door there was a pop and then a orchestrated fanfare started. then Discord walked in wearing a black suit with a red balloon sword.
"Twilight..." he said with a stern expression on his face. which seemed to unnerve Twilight. "I. Am." he took a slow breath between each word "Your father. and i am here to bring you to the dark side Twilight Sparkle." then he started laughing.
Now Twilight was confused. so she dismissed it and said. "Correction, you are Discord, the Spirit of Chaos. and you are here to answer a few questions that I have for you." closing the door behind him and sitting on a chair next to the fireplace she gestured to another chair next to it.
Seeing this, Discord sat on the chair. "you want to learn about a time that was long, long ago. Correct?" he said with a mischievous grin.
"yes. I want to learn about the beginning of it all, to be more precise" Twilight said nodding.
There was a flash and discord was now in a red bathrobe with a pipe and spectacles, Holding a very thick book in his lap "i will tell you what I know... but I will do it my way."
Groaning, Twilight shook her head, trying to clear her head for the headache that was to come.
with a mysterious tone discord said. "Two Brothers, Two halves, one Goal they each have, one for Love, one for Law, And one to bring chaos to it all. the fall will come when the moon and Sun turn black, Chaos froze, Love is lost, Lawlessness rules. the one tat made all will come. and Darkness shall tremble in his Path."
As he spoke the shadows started to gather and take physical forms on the floor. the shadows made the forms of two creatures. one that looked like Discord. And one that was even weirder looking. she quickly jotted down some details. 'i can show this to an associate of mine' she thought to herself.
The creature was tall and bipedal, there was no fur being indicated in it, but there is a main the top of its head. at the ends of its upper limbs there was what looked like claws with rounded tips. then the strange form split into two ponies. one being a pegasus Stallion, and an earth pony Stallion. then what looked like bat wings appeared on the earth pony as two Alicorns appeared beside them then as one disappeared both of the stallions also disappeared.
"who are they? the two stallions and that, thing? and why were you formed before those two Alicorns?" Twilight said. speeding up as she spoke. but she stopped when a zipper appeared on her lips.
"I came here to tell you what you wanted to know my way. Besides. if I told you everything, then you wouldn't learn as much yourself. Would you?" Discord said in a matter of fact tone. then an alarm clock rang. "sorry Twily, but I really must be going"

Ponyville Library
He was sitting at a table reading an illustrated guide to cryptozoology. When he turned the page he saw a very detailed picture of a human hand, with some sidenotes inserted in-between the two pages. 'Wow. This is the first time I found some reminisce of humans in this day and age that outright says it'
"Luke. I'd like to talk to you." Twilight said before continuing. "it's Saturday and the princesses might show up today" It sounded like she was getting impatient now.
"Okay. Just let me finish this book. It just got interesting." Luke replied. It wasn't a lie, he hadn't seen anything on humans since they went extinct a few centuries. and Twilight, being a bookworm herself probably wouldn't object to it. 'but the princesses. they could wipe my illusion off like it was nothing.' Luke thought. then he turned to his saddlebag and pulled out a black cloak. 'it has been a long time since I last wore this' he thought as he put it on. Then he took off a pendant of the crescent moon. He put the book in his saddlebag and walked over to Twilight. "okay. Lets get this over with Twilight." Luke said reluctently.
Twilight looked up from the book she was reading and furrowed her brows in confusion when she saw the cloak. Maybe he could give me some clarification' she thought. "I want to know what this means. and I would like you to tell me about the beginning." she said as she gave Luke a small piece of paper

after Luke had read it, there was a loud pop from the middle of the room. and standing right there were the two rulers of Equestria. Luna and Celestia.
"hello Twilight." said Celestia. turning to Luke. "and who might this be?"
Twilight started blushing furiously. "N-no. It's not what you think." she stammered.
Hearing this, Luna grinned broadly and said. "Oh yes... there is a special connection between the two of you... I can see it."
"yeah. just like the last time you tried to hook me up." Luke muttered under his breath, as a shadow formed under his hood.
Noticing the shadow, Celestia asked Luke. "why do you hide your face from me?" she tried to pull down the hood but her magic couldn’t grip it.
"the depts and sins that you both have must be paid in full before i show you my face, perhaps i can answer you question at a later date Twilight. but since royalty is here, it would be best if i leave before i loose myself to the Darkness." Luke replied as he turned to leave. it didn't take Luna a second to catch onto the last word, and try to stop him in his tracks. but he just stepped through the levitation trying to latch onto him.
"WAIT!" Luna screamed. Then Luke stopped. And he stood perfectly still. "Who are you? How do you know of that technique?" Luna was desperate now. she had finally found some form of firmilliarity to what she lost during her time as Nightmare Moon. the only response from him was him
Luke turned, and put a pendant of the Crescent Moon in the floor in front of her. and at the sight of the pendant Luna felt like the sun and moon were going to crash into her. "I am Luke Darkblade. one of the Original Element Bearers. and the First General if the Lunar Republic Army. " Luke said in a tone of authority that rivals even the Princesses. then he reached up with a hand and took off his hood and stood up.
Luke had about half a foot on Celestia when it came to height. but she still walked straight up to him and said. "This is where you've been all this time. and your a Human aswell... there is more to this, isn't there?"
Luke nodded. "HUMAN!" a minty Green streak hit him in the chest and gave him a very tight hug as if it wasn't ever going to release him.

Everfree Castle (A.K.A. Castle Of The Two Sisters)
Two hundred years before Nightmare Moon's rising
"Your kingdom is growing faster as the days pass by Brother." Discord said. He was currently eating a cotton candy cloud, and drinking some chocolate milk. "I ask you to limit how far the humans go. Or I will need to do it myself." This complaint had come up before. But knowing Discord. It was twenty to one coin toss that he will actually do it.
"You know what happened the last time that I tried to limit them." Luke deadpaned before continuing. "They adapt faster than it can take effect. and Limits take time to be established onto what is already there." then he smiled. "The ponies below are the equilibrium point for us... besides. it is only fair that the Humans expand when the Draconiqui expand at a faster rate."
"But we are pure magic. Humans were made from the dirt under their feet." Discord was getting agitated now. "It's time for me to go now. See you later Brother." and with a snap of his fingers. Discord was gone.
'what could he be up to.' Luke thought to himself.
The day Celestia is born
Two years before Luna's birth
It was a bright sunny day. and on this day a new hope of the new kingdom of Equestria was born in the newly formed settlement of Coudsdale. a white baby pegasus with a pink mane.
"She will be a light for all to see." Luke said. he had been turned into a pony. but he could take it off at will, but to get close to the ponies he staid in this form. 'Celestia...' he thought to himself. "what shall her name be?" he said to her mother.
"Sunny" her mother said. Before nuzzling her little foal.
"how shall she faire without a father?" Luke asked. the pegasi were still the main fighting force for the newly united Equestria in those days. and her father only recently fell in battle to the griffins.
"I- I was hoping that you would be her father..." She said. She had a certain look in her eyes. a look that Luke didn't like. "As a friend. please."
"Then as a friend, I say no. what would others think if she was known to be the son of a lowly blacksmith? I think it best that she knew her father was a soldier, Than to live in a lie." Luke said. this was a delicate situation. "but I can help raise her, but not directly."
"Oh, alright." She says laying down in her bed exhausted.
"Get some rest... You'll need it." Luke said softly. With his business finished, He left.
'Okay... this has officially become the second most interesting day of my life.' Luke thought to himself as he tried to get up with a particular Unicorn lyrist.
Lyra was beaming at Twilight. "See Twilight. I told you that Humans were Real!"
Twilight sighed. "well you can stay and listen as long as you can stay still."
Lyra cheered as she hugged me even tighter before letting go and sitting next to Twilight. "thank you for letting me stay."
"No problem." was all Twilight said before they all looked at me.
I sat up but I just couldn't look at Lyra. she was the spicing image of Lythra. the only difference being her cutiemark. everything from the way she looked at me, to the way she sat was the same.
With a wave of my hand a landscape formed in front of us. "which is better for you to learn, Is it to See the event? To Hear about the event? Or to Experience the event?"
I could see all four of them think for a moment Twilight spoke first. "Isn’t it usually sight and sound that others use to learn about the world?"
I couldn’t help but smile. "and history only goes around perfectly only once. I'll bring you to a point in time and space that you can see, hear, feel, and explore the beginning without seriously altering the current world through the butterfly effect." I snap my fingers and darkness envelops the room. "We are here." i say to them flatly.
"Why cant i see anything?" I hear Celestia ask.
"How can you see with light, If light doesn’t exist yet?" I ask her. "Now be quiet, Watch and listen."
The Beginning
My voice sounds from the Darkness "let there be light!" now we see that we are on a barren rock with another me, Discord, and a human girl. I can hear Twilight furiously writing notes.
"Its so BORING here" Discord says with a groan. then a orb of light appears above his head and water bursts out around us and he swims in it. "come on, the water is great!"
"I'd rather not." The girl says as a forest grows behind her. "I'd rather tend to the plants and stay in the shade." Discord just shrugs at this
"What about you?" Discord asks the other me.
The other me just shook his head and went to the water. "But there are some that always swim." As he put his hand in the water, Fish came from the shore. Then he turned and picked up some soil. "And someone needs to help our sister with her garden." He blew it into the air and all sorts of animals appeared where it landed.
A few minutes pass by and the girl runs out. "The animals are hurting eachother!"
The other me runs to her worry spread clearly on his face. "we need someone to take care of them and themselves?" she nods and a flower comes up. the other me picks it and whispers something. five petals fall from it and from it a Dragon, an alicorn, a Human, a griffin, and another Draconequus.
Discord rushes to the other Draconequus and kisses her and she kisses back. Then the scene fades and we are back in the Library
Ponyville Library
Twilight groans as she sees that her notes are now blank pieces of paper, Luna and Celestia are both deep in thought, and Lyra is looking at me like I grew two extra heads right in front of her.
"That cannot be true." said Luna. Everyone looked at her in different tones of shock.
"It just cant be True." Luna continued. "The sun and moon arose over the land, Then the world was brought out of the darkness." Luke smiled at that. "On top of that, Discord showed us his baby pictures back when we were friends."
Luke gave a slight chuckle. "he is the spirit of Chaos after all. He can make anything out of thin air." Twilight nodded in agreement. "And he has almost unlimited power."
"But he was powerless after Terek sucked his power out." Interjected Twilight.
"And that's why I said almost." Luke Replied.
"But that still doesn't give us a good time frame." Said Celestia.
"How long do you think we would be here if I went into great detail? I showed you a simplified version of the beginning. and you aren't even fully grasping that." Luke said.
Lyra was staring at Luke. "Humans were real since the beginning?"
"Yes. but Discord wiped al but one out. me." Luke said as Twilight's eye twitched.
"What does Discord's riddle mean?" Twilight asked.
Luke thought for a moment. "Well. You know what the Crystal heart does, right?" Twilight nodded. "Multiply the effect by twelve to the ninth power." At that Twilight's eyes shot open. "And that's just from me. my other half is Peter Lightblade. he keeps physics from collapsing in on itself, and solid objects go into a gas-like state." Now Twilight was dumbfounded. Nopony is that powerful. "Discord is obviously the 'one who brings Chaos to it all.'"
"But what about the rest?" Twilight asked.
Luke thought of how to answer her then said. "You are a intelligent pony. i think you can point out the pieces from what happened recently."
