> Equality High School > by MBrony > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 1: Trip to Equality High > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was a bright morning in Canterlot High, and it was a normal day like any other. In the front of the school however, was a dark purple luxury-sized car that pulled up next to the walkway. The front left door opened and out stood out a mysterious lady that had purple and green hair, as it was curled up in a French braid bun at the back; she also wore a pink skirt with a symbol of an equal sign on it and her shirt was the same colour as the car. She took off her sunglasses and her eyes appeared blue, then she smirked when she turned around to see Canterlot High. As the rest of the school was busy with students inside the building, Principal Celestia was in her office at her desk when suddenly she eyed the door and the mysterious lady walked in when she opened it. She sat down on the chair across from Celestia, and she formed a formal smile. "So, I understand that you're here to apply Canterlot High students to move to your school in case some of them have to move town next year?" asked Principal Celestia. The welcoming guest nodded her head with a proud smirk. "Yes Principal Celestia, that is exactly why I am here. My school opened up last month, so I want to encourage other students to have their findings in my new school. This is a really popular place, so I expect a lot of students to go." reasoned the guest principal. Principal Celestia formed a generous smile and nodded in agreement. "Very well, I'll need you to fill out these papers first so to make sure that we will agree on my terms; Principal Glimmer." Then, she handed the papers over to Principal Glimmer and she put them down on the desk in front of her. "Don't worry, I'll make sure that Equality High School is acceptable for your students! After all, everyone is equal." she admitted smugly. As the first bell rang the next few weeks later, every student in Canterlot High paired with their own friends and they walked to a particular direction; knowing that there weren't going to be any classes at all these first three days this week. Suddenly the sound of a mic picked up through the speakers. "Good morning everyone, please proceed to the hall. All students who are late or haven't signed up for the excursion will be staying behind for normal lessons." announced Principal Celestia as her voice echoed throughout the school. Sunset Shimmer was walking alone in the school hallway carrying her bag on her back like everyone else, suddenly Rainbow Dash appears next to her and Sunset looks up at her. "Hey Sunset, ready for the excursion?" she asked her. "Ready as I'll ever be!" she responded as she put a thumb up. She then followed Rainbow Dash to the school hall knowing that they'll regroup with the rest of their friends at the area. However, Sunset Shimmer started to grow a little worried. "I'm a bit nervous Rainbow, Equality High School doesn't sound like there's too much freedom going on there. How will we know if it's any good for the students moving there next year?" asked Sunset nervously. However, Rainbow Dash was still smiling. "I'm sure it'll be fine, it's not like we're going to live where it is anytime soon. Besides, there are other schools like Manhatten if people aren't interested." admitted Rainbow positivity. Suddenly, from out of nowhere Pinkie Pie popped up in front of the two with a worried face; then she started jumping around everywhere. "What if that school is full of students who wear crazy smiles and they aren't really happy smiles but eeevil smiles, and what if their Principal is not really all that nice? What if she locks us in forever without us getting out at all?! Oh, there's Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack! Gotta dash, bye!" yelled Pinkie Pie as she then dashed to the nearby front of the student crowd where Applejack, Fluttershy Rarity are almost seen in it before they and Pinkie disappear in the crowd. Sunset Shimmer shook her head not questioning where Pinkie Pie gets her shenanigans from, then she formed a cheesy smile as she rubbed her neck with her right hand nervously. "I guess I'm just overreacting, whatever Pinkie said sounds like a nightmare fantasy." she said with an unsure tone in her voice. Rainbow Dash then shrugged. "She must be having too many Pinkie nightmares, by the sounds of it. I'm sure we'll do fine. If Pinkie Pie says it's true, I don't blame her for being predictable like the time when she revealed our Twilight was a princess from the pony world." admitted Rainbow Dash. Sunset Shimmer looked around in puzzlement, she knew they were missing someone as Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy and Applejack were already here. She looked to Rainbow Dash eye-widened in concern about their missing member of the group. "Speaking of our Twilight, where's the other Twilight? Is she coming?" asked Sunset eagerly. Rainbow shrugged. "I don't know, she said something about staying behind because she had catch-up to do or something. That's all I gathered. I'm not fond of small gossip." she responded to Sunset. "I don't blame her, after what happened a few weeks ago she wouldn't want to go to a school where there are no shenanigans. She's probably studying for more magic or something, to protect Canterlot High. I don't want the whole weight to appear on my shoulders again after the Friendship Games incident." said Sunset. The student line was speeding up faster the more Sunset and Rainbow walked, everyone was disappearing into the hall. Then they were the last of the few to walk in. "Alright, where are the others?" asked Sunset Shimmer. Rainbow Dash peeled her eyes opened as she looked across the hall. She spotted the rest of their friends on the right side talking to each other in a group. "There they are!" Rainbow shouted happily as she pointed a finger at them. Everyone was seated where they were like in the Friendship Games, Sunset and her friends were sitting altogether this time and as everyone gossiped Principal Celestia came up to the stage to prepare her speech. "Good morning, everyone. I hope you are ready for our excursion this week! Who's excited?" asked Principal Celestia cheerfully. Most of the students raised their hands up and cheered in reply, but some of the school students had their arms folded and eye brows raised in suspicion about the new school; while Sunset was feeling anxious and Pinkie was looking unimpressed. "We hope that most of you are looking forward to seeing this school, it has a cheerful reputation and they have great manners over there. I hope as they welcome you with open arms, you will feel welcomed." said Principal Celestia. Murmurs from the students enchanted across the school hall. Everyone was patiently waiting for the bus at the front of the school, when it arrived the bus door opened and the school students got in. Sunset and her friends were lined up together behind each other in their seats as the other students were with their respective partner. Fluttershy and Rarity were the only ones that were the most excited out of the group. "I can't wait to see Equality High School! It sounds like a peaceful place." said Fluttershy cheerfully. "I hope the design of the building and everything else looks as magnificent as Crystal Prep!...Oh, and our school too." admitted Rarity. While she loved the idea of everyone wearing different dresses, she got a little jealous of how fashionable Crystal Prep looked. But since the Friendship Games rivalry was over, she wasn't too bothered about Crystal Prep being more pretty than Canterlot High. Sunset was busy reading her special book that was dedicated to sending letters to Princess Twilight, to look at previous lessons from her time in Equestria to get her mind off Equality High School for a while as the others talked about it. "And the music! I hope I got an awesome athlete to challenge, and a band to face! Then again, I might have to face the whole school..." said Rainbow who lost her touch with excitement. The rest looked up to Pinkie minus Sunset as they looked at her suspiciously, because she was silent the whole time. Pinkie then eyed them confused. "What? Can you imagine a school, where everyone was equal and was educated equality? What if they were all brain-levelled as Twilight? Our heads would explode with their logic!" shouted Pinkie Pie who was mad as she thought about all the dangerous possibilities of the school. Rainbow rubbed her chin in thought. "You know, she is right. I hope it isn't as bad as I hope you think it is, Pinkie. Students can avoid all the dangerous magic there." suggested Rainbow. All of the students then looked to Sunset as they wanted to hear what she thought of the school. But then, Rainbow Dash remembered. "Oh, don't worry. She's just as anxious as you are Pinkie." said Rainbow Dash cheerfully. They all eyed Sunset who was darting her eyes left and right, putting her head into the book. "The poor girl, maybe we should move onto another topic. Sunset will get more anxious if we have to face another magical threat again." admitted Rarity sorrowfully. The others who have talked in the group nodded their heads in agreement. > Chapter 2: Equality High Introduction > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Canterlot High school bus has just arrived at their stop to the Equality High School, and all of the students got out of the bus. Sunset regrouped with her friends in the open and they stood out in front of the student crowd. They were looking up at the building and saw that it was just an ordinary school, and it was not a castle either. The school did not look as colourful and as lively as the other schools as it was full of dull colours. Sunset was looking curious while the others had just looked bored and unexcited. "Well, this is a dumb and boring school. Who'd wanna move here?" asked Rainbow Dash curiously. "All the way to this school just to find out that it's too ordinary? There is absolutely nothing that could go wrong here." said Sunset who was feeling more anxious. There were no magic shenanigans, no existing thing that looked out of place and they were yet to find out what was inside the school building. They were also still curious as to what the students would look like. Rainbow then turned to Pinkie Pie who looked unsure. "Are you sure that there is something strange about this place, Pinkie?" asked Rainbow Dash who was growing quite annoyed. "I dunno, ask the writer!" shouted Pinkie Pie who looked to the screen and pointed at it. The others looked at the audience confused, and they looked back at Pinkie. "What are you talking about? There's nothing here." asked Sunset as she thought Pinkie was starting to get more weirder. She knew that Pinkie knew a lot more things than her, but nothing like this. "M-Maybe we can forget about the whole 'magical' thing, after all this place does look friendly." suggested Fluttershy nervously. "Well, maybe we'd better go inside. Perhaps it's nicer there?" suggested Rarity brightly. Sunset opened the glass door slightly into the school, and her friends peeked their heads through the door above each other. Sunset opened the door as it went to the left side and her friends stood next to her to see that the hallway was quiet. There was not a single person to be found in this school. "Well, this is quite...weird." said Sunset who was weirded out by the lack of students. Rainbow then frowned. "Welp, there's no one here. Time to head back." she said as she begin to walk down the stairs, but Fluttershy stopped in front of her. "They could just be in classes about now. When Principal Celestia gets here, we'll be able to figure out who this school's principal is!" said Fluttershy who grew more positive. As soon as Fluttershy mentioned their principal, Principal Celestia walked up the stairs and the students made way for her. "Alright now, let's not all muddle in at once. I'll be able to find Principal Glimmer, the rest of you wait out here." she protested as she made her way inside to leave the students alone. Principal Celestia went inside and she heard footsteps from some miles away, which made her look around concerned. "Hello? Is anyone here? I'm Principal Celestia from Canterlot High." she said as she introduced herself to no one in particular. Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed throughout the school hallway. "Oh, so you are Principal Celestia! It's nice to see you again, I hope you are ready?" asked the strange voice. Principal Celestia looked to see that a pole was foreshadowed and Principal Glimmer was lying on it in the shadows, with her shoes crossed as she's smirking. Principal Celestia smiled relieved that the person she met a few weeks back was here. "Oh, Principal Glimmer! Yes, my students are here and are waiting for their tour around your school. I'm sure that they'll be pleased to be here, as much as you will hopefully be pleased to meet them." assured Principal Celestia. "Good, then bring them in. The school is ready for their introduction." ordered Principal Glimmer smugly. Principal Celestia cocked her head confused. "Introduction?" she asked curiously. Principal Glimmer nodded and Celestia shook her head. "Never mind, I'll let them in." said Principal Celestia. She then walked out and felt awkward. "Students, the Principal is ready. She'll be waiting for us inside." announced Principal Celestia. The students got curious and excited and then they slowly followed Principal Celestia into the school. Inside the high school building, they saw that Principal Glimmer was standing in front of the classes hallway with her hands at her back; smiling pleasantly as she waited for the Canterlot High students to regroup. "Welcome!" she said as she greeted the students. "I am Principal Glimmer, I'm so pleased to have you here!" she admitted enchantingly. Sunset eyed Principal Glimmer awkwardly, thinking there was something off about her introduction. But she didn't question her voice and expression. Principal Glimmer raised an eye brow at Sunset Shimmer, the student that was looking nervous. She walked up to her, rubber her chin in thought and she frowned. Then she widened her eyes and smiled in realization. "Pardon my forwardness, but are you...Sunset Shimmer?" she asked curiously. Sunset raised an eyebrow herself confused. "How did you know who I am?" she asked her, sounding puzzled. "Oh, Principal Celestia did tell me some unique things about you. Perhaps you'll fit in just fine here!" suggested Principal Glimmer. Sunset frowned at Principal Celestia who was standing next to her group and she formed a cheesy smile, then she looked away embarrassed. Sunset folded her arms and her frown faded. "So, what's this school about anyway? Why would you think I'd be suitable for this school?" asked Sunset. Principal Glimmer formed a slight smirk. "Oh, well I know you became a bit of a troublemaker and only made a couple of friends. But don't worry! We're all about equality here." she said as she put her hands on Sunset's shoulders. She then let go of Sunset and she walked back to her position. "What do you mean? I'm friends with everyone here at my school." she said. Everyone in the school nodded and hummed in unsion, and Principal Glimmer smiled wider. "Perhaps it would be easier to understand if I gave you a tour of the school!" suggested Principal Glimmer cheerfully. Suddenly, music cued in the background unbeknowest to the people in the school and students opened the classroom doors and marched out with grinning smiles. Rainbow was not amused. "Oh boy." she muttered annoyed. "I told you." said Pinkie Pie unimpressed that no one believed the cheery smiles. "Heads high, students! Marching proud! All together now! Every one of you! Nobody left behind!" announced Principal Glimmer. Life is so grand in Our School We're always filled with cheer We never have to look around To know that we're all here In Our School, in Our School We don't have to wait To find out that our destiny Is just to emulate "Let's see those big, happy smiles!" ordered Principal Glimmer cheerfully. Life is a smile in Our School Our uniforms' the same Because we do not separate Ourselves by more than name In Our School, in Our School We dare not compete Winning only breeds the worst Ego-filled conceit "You see? Now everybody wins!" Life is a joy in Our School We're all equal here No one is superior And no one shakes in fear In Our School, in Our School We work as a team You can't have a nightmare If you never dream Other people argue Do you ever wonder why? When you think your talent's special You don't see eye-to-eye There's just too many differences That lead to disarray But when you learn to act as one It's like a holiday In Our School, in Our School We don't complicate When you learn to simplify Life is oh, so great Join in our utopia Come out to be glad Banded by equality By our equal flag! Suddenly, Rainbow Dash bursted out laughing. "Us?! Give up our special talents?! Never, I say!" she yelled. The Equality High School students gasped and turned their heads to the blue multicoloured person, not believing their ears with what they just heard. "I have an awesome rock band, I don't need my awesome guitar skills removed!" Rainbow commented proudly. "Rainbow, you shouldn't be rude! These students are obviously proud of their school, they weren't afraid of their talents not getting involved. I think this school is lovely!!" admired Fluttershy. Principal Celestia stood in front of Sunset and her friends with a pleasant smile. "Well, it seems like you all are living happy lives as Fluttershy says. I hope one of my students will find the pleasure of being in your school, someday." she said positively. Principal Glimmer smirked again. "Why thank you, Principal Celestia. I hope my school brings great courage to your students as well! Now then, why don't I show you what subjects we have in our school?" she asked her. The Canterlot High school students murmured in the student crowd and they followed Principal Glimmer to the classrooms.
