The pity look to Starlight obviously made Twilight ask what was wrong. But Starlight couldn't answer, she couldn't bear guff to Twilight, not here, not now. Maybe not even ever. She was too anxious about everything, her surroundings, her life, herself, but especially, yes, conspicuously..Twilight. Instead of sputtering and studdering, and retorting things she didn't mean, she agitated her head back and forth. Twilight abruptly wrapped her hoof around Starlight's neck, trying to assuagement her in the placidest way. But Starlight refused the comfort, even though she mourned for it every moment of the day. Her hooves conveyed her to her new room. Her room was just installed, and it needed tons of work, and lots of adjustments. The floor was damp, the rugs were scuffed up, and her bed was dilapidationed, Twilight hadn't practiced that spell. So Starlight would just have to do it herself, like she did constantly. As Twilight wandered into Starlight's room, her heart skipped a beat, "St-Star-?" In Starlight Glimmer's room, everything was deluxe. It was a beautiful, elegant sight. But the one unornamented, was the five million pictures of Twilight up on the walls. Starlight screamed in horror, no others were allowed to enter her room, "Twili-Twilight?!! Uh..this isn't what it looks like!" Twilight's heart belabored against her purple chest, her mind was fuzzy, and her breath was hard, "Yes. Yes, Starlight, this is! You decorated your own room for me!" She grasped onto Starlight, tugging her in for a tight squeeze. Starlight hesitantly let out an insignificant chortle. Her neck was squeezed tightly in a headlock, and she was losing oxygen. Her face turned a bright blue, and her vision was pilate, "Twi--" "Besties! Am I right?!" Twilight hooted, squeezing Starlight even more invulnerable. Starlight took a deep breath of air, and with all her might, she insolently screeched, "TWILIGHT!!" As Twilight let go, Starlight realized she needed this comfort. She had to ask. And she did. Starlight clutched onto Twilight's hoof. And exquisitely asked, "Will you go out with me? I..like you." > Obviously Awkward > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "S-so this is it?" Twilight retorted. For moments, there was silence. They could hear ponies behind them, laughing and chatting. Starlight felt bad for not answering; so she decided to let it all out. And hold Twilight's hoof, too. Starlight Glimmer grabbed into Twilight's hoof and held it tightly, "Yes, this isn't it. I-I mean..yes! YUP, it's it! Heh, just joking around!!" Twilight unattached her hoof and trotted shyly to the doorcolt. As she did, Starlight whacked herself in the face many times. The marks left a bruise, but she was at it to where she didn't even care what her appearance was. Her and Twilight were on a date, what else was there to know? "Welcome, how may I assist you two mares?" The doorcolt protested. He had a long black mustache running to his chin, and his eyes were pale. His mouth was pierced into an unpleasant fancy-look. "Reservation for two. Twilight Sparkle and Starlight," Twilight rejoindered. "Madam, Dumpling, please show these two lovely mares to their assigned table!" The doorcolt ordered. "Yes, sir. Follow me, please." Dumpling had a sort of pasty-like coat. Her locks almost groped the floor, it was a yellow sort of type. Her voice was as sweet as red velvet, and her eyes were somehow always narrow. Her mane hid her eyes, at first Starlight thought it was because she was bashful, but the truth was she only had one eye. Twilight carried herself to the table and sat down, as did Starlight. They tried not to make eye-contact. Staring around the room was..strange. Finally, after minutes of staring around, Starlight spoke up. "We need to talk," she declared. Twilight's cheeks turned the slightest of pale, and she let out an insignificant chuckle, "Right..its just.." And at the exact same time, both Starlight and Twilight said, "Obviously awkward." > Valuable To Me > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "I noticed how great this place looks," Twilight finally said after moments passed by. "Yeah," Starlight Glimmer nervously disputed. The two looked around again, but this time, Twilight and Starlight made eye contact. Starlight Glimmer beamed shyly as she held her hoof out to Twilight. Twilight's face turned red. She reached out and clutched onto Starlight's hoof. The two sat in silence and discovered if they wanted to keep this relationship at a good level, they would have to talk to each other. Even though they cognized that would be exceedingly hard, they had to. "I wonder what their specials are tonight." Twilight said. Starlight Glimmer thought for a moment, "I think it's their Daisy Hay Soup," "How do you know?" Twilight inquired. "Well, when we were outside the board said that was their special." "Oh," Twilight mantled uncomfortably. "Silly me," she laughed. Starlight let out a small chuckle, "Don't worry. We're all this way.." Starlight paused for a moment, then said, "How are you so valuable to this world? How does it work? Is it fun?" "Well, I suppose it's a little entertaining. But mostly a struggle," "Oh," Starlight Glimmer considered that it would be fun. But, then she aforethought that it would be a bit firm to try to lead ponies. Even though she had once done it before, she thought about how hard it would be to be a Princess, and rule the universe. "Of course, everypony cares about you, though. So they know you'll do your best," Starlight suggested. "I guess so," Twilight shrugged. "It would make sense." "But," Starlight Glimmer said. "no one cares about me. I'm not valuable to anypony in this world," Twilight paused. She took Starlight's hoof once more and said, "You're valuable to me." > Eh..Hey Dash > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Twilight and Starlight Glimmer sat silently waiting for their waitress, they chatted more and more. "And that's how I got my wings," Twilight explained. "That's so cool!" Starlight Glimmer said. "Can you tell me a Math Story of yours?" "Sure!" Twilight smiled, "So, I figured out that the answer was 5-4.563837468! And then, Celestia said, 'How do you know?' And I said, 'Because I took the forty two from five thousand. Then I added the 600 in the 1703746 place. But then, I noticed that the .638 was wrong, so I multiplied it by 3743746483. Then I subtracted the .37464383 from the 4746565739284. Which, in conclusion, equals 5-4.563837468!!' And Celestia was very surprised!" Twilight guffed. "Woah! You're very smart!!" Starlight said amazed. "You're turn! Tell me a math moment in your life!" "So, I was in Math class, when my teacher told me to answer a problem. 'The answer is 56383746383746.84748393847-2374!' I said. 'Wha-how'd you get that?' She asked. 'Well, I subtracted 47364639 from 3726364849553736382. Then, I added 37263.4556. But, then I noticed that the .13847548.4848 place was wrong! So, I had to subtract 837374652 from 737473839274739. I still had to multiply 465648 times 47465683.473! So I added 4739273 to that! And my finale answer was 56383746383746.84748393847-2374!' And that's it!" "Woah, you're just as smart as me!" Twilight laughed. "Twinzies?" "TWINZIES!!" Starlight Glimmer chuckled. Suddenly, their waitress came, "Hello, good evening, my name is Rainbow Dash. I will be your waitress this evening!" Rainbow Dash's mouth hung open. "Wha-you-I-this place-date-here?" Starlight Glimmer and Twilight sat in silence. They looked at each other, then it Rainbow, then back at each other again. Twilight gave Starlight a look that said, 'Should I say something?' Starlight Glimmer nodded. Twilight cleared her throat, "Eh..hey Dash." > LOVE > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the date, Twilight and Starlight Glimmer raced home. Starlight invited Twilight to sit in her room so they could practice magic together. "That date didn't go as planned, did it?" Twilight asked. "Not really.." Starlight sadly admitted. "But.......do you love me, Twilight?" Twilight grasped onto Starlight's shoulders and pulled her in for a kiss. The two kissed. For once, Starlight finally felt true love.
