> Fluttershy Finds An Inkling > by Mystical Rainboom > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > The Colorful Squid Kid > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fluttershy had just finished feeding her animal friends. She had some free time and lied down for a nap. She was cozy in her bed and ready to dream for an hour, but something scared her half to death. The sound of rapid firing guns pounded against her wall and she took cover. "Oh my goodness! I hope I'm not under attack by somepony. The other's wouldn't get here soon enough." Fluttershy panicked and looked outside. She found orange ink all over her backyard. She wondered if the creature had left. Then she heard a sloshing sound and another loud bang. Fluttershy had a method for intruders. She climbed through some holes under her house and rose from under a rock. She looked around and carried a bat. She stared at the ink and heard a sound beneath her hooves. When a pair of eyes came out, Fluttershy jumped for the sky. A big squid came out of the ink and it seemed wounded with purple spots, so she picked it up. It fell asleep in her hooves and she carried it inside. "Poor little creature, you've been attacked." Fluttershy worried. "I know just what you need." Fluttershy carried the squid to the bathroom and filled the tub. The warm water would feel swell to almost any creature she'd met before. "Everything's gonna be ok." Fluttershy came closer to the tub. The squid woke up and saw it was only a few inches from water. Suddenly the creature acted... The squid turned into a human kid, jumped on Fluttershy, ran out the room, and dropped something in the process. "No! This is not one way Emily dies today!" The girl shouted as she ran into the living room. She reached behind her and looked shocked. "Where's my gun?!" The girl looked around, but found nothing, except for Fluttershy spying on her from the corner. She walked around and both came face to face. "Hello?" Both said in unison. "Oh crap/my goodness, a talking pony/squid!" Both of them took sides of the house. Neither one of them made a move, but Fluttershy picked up the gun and looked scared. "Can I please have my gun back? I'm not gonna hurt you." Emily asked kindly. Fluttershy didn't know what to do, but she gave the inkling her gun, only after picking up a water gun as a precaution. "Thank you-OW!" Emily suddenly yelled in pain. Fluttershy ran over to help, but Emily said she was fine. She picked up her gun and shot some ink on the ground and hid in it. A few seconds later she was back and healthy. Fluttershy took a moment to take this all in. An orange squid transformed into a human with headphones, a white shirt, and blue and purple shoes. To make matters worse her house was getting coated in ink. "I just want to ask. Can you stop inking my house? I don't have a strong enough stain remover for-" Before Fluttershy could finish, Emily pulled out a remote and pushed a button. Suddenly all the ink in the house and outside vanished. "Ink-away, it cleans up any leftover ink or mistakes." Emily posed as if she won something, but Fluttershy noticed some leftover ink outside her window. It was purple and walking towards the house. "I think I see another creature like you." Fluttershy said. "I'm an inkling. It's one of my kind?" Emily asked as she checked for her stuff. She was starting to surprisingly feel safe and comfy around Fluttershy, who walked towards the door. "Hello, who is it?" Fluttershy asked. "It's me, Sam." The inkling said. "Oh that's one of my teammates. Can you let them in, please?" Emily said and smiled innocently. "Of course, a friendly orange squid and her friendly purple squid teammate can meet here." Fluttershy opened the door. "Wait, Purple!" Emily yelled. "Hello, little twerp!" An octoling said and aimed her gun. Emily pulled out her gun and ran out the back door dodging the purple ink. Fluttershy took cover, as the octoling chased Emily. Fluttershy wanted to act against the creature, but she only wanted to use her stare for emergencies. Luckily for Emily, this counted as an emergency. Emily shot back some orange ink, but the octoling threw a bomb. Emily kept firing as the octoling swam closer, the she set off her own bomb. When things cleared up, the octoling lost Emily. "Come on out, coward. Hiding only makes me want to splat you more." The octoling said, as she tapped her fun in frustration. Fluttershy ran outside. "Excuse me, Miss Octoling, but that's one of my friends you're shooting at!" Fluttershy yelled, while mustering up the courage to fight back in a weird fight. "Stay out of this. Leave this between the big girls, or I'll turn you into glue." The octoling snickered and hid in her ink. Fluttershy stood at the spot, the octoling disappeared and held her down. "If this is predators and prey, I can understand. I'm friends with a bear, but you need to learn some manners." "Buzz off." The octoling rolled her eyes in th ink and looked at Fluttershy. When her eyes looked at Fluttershy, she was suddenly a victim of Fluttershy's stare. "You need to be nice to the creature you're hunting, they don't want to be eaten and I'm sure there is something else like berries for you to eat. If you can only eat meat, than you can go look elsewhere, but apologize first." Fluttershy took control of the situation and the octoling looked dizzy. "Look out!" A voice called from above. Suddenly, Emily jumped from the roof and used a roller to splat the octoling. "Don't you pesky octolings ever go easy!" Emily shouted in frustration, she then noticed Fluttershy looked worried and wondered what happen to the octoling. "Oh...uh, I can explain everything." Emily and Fluttershy sat down to have tea and talk about inklings. Emily told Fluttershy about how Inkopolis was their home in world of a rising ocean and how inkling can't swim. She also talked about how inklings and octolings are at war for territory and she came to their world on a mission, but they all separated after the octolings ambushed them. "So are you a kid or a squid?" Fluttershy laughed and asked. "Both, I'm also 1/8 jellyfish and urchin, but that's from ancient family history." Emily laughed. Fluttershy gave some facts about Equestria and both came to the conclusion that magic ripples linked their worlds. Because some many magic burst happen across the multiverse, apparently Equestria appended a portal. "So you can all use magic and junk, but a threat comes by and people only let 6 ponies try to fix it?" Emily looked confused. "Sadly, yes." Fluttershy looked to the ground. A knock on the door interrupted them. It was Applejack and Fluttershy let her in. "Fluttershy, I got the message from you mocking jay friend that you were in trouble." Applejack said. "Who and what is that?" "This is my friend, Emily. She's an Inkling from another world." Fluttershy said as if it wasn't crazy. "Nice to meet you, Emily." Applejack smiled awkwardly. "Hello...erm Applesnack?" Emily looked just as awkward. Applejack let the mispronounciation slide. "Fluttershy, we've got trouble! A bunch of weird creatures are shooting paint everywhere in town and are headed near the field filled with ponies." Applejack said, as Emily nearly choked on her tea. "Even worse, the purple creatures outnumbered the other team and are taking over the town!" "What?!" Emily ran out the door and grabbed her gun and weapons. "Wait, Emily! It's too dangerous!" Fluttershy yelled and worried. "I can't stop! They need me!" Emily charged forward. "But you don't know the way!" Fluttershy yelled and ran after her. Emily got lucky and found the path with Fluttershy and Applejack right on her tail. She got spooked though and pulled out her gun and shot something purple, that she thought was an octoling. Unfortunately, that was Twilight Sparkle. "Bleh! It's in my mouth!" Twilight spat and took notice of Emily. "Oh good, it's just another pony." Emily sighed. "Oh no, it's another hybrid!" Twilight yelled to her friends. Before the ponies could attack, Emily saw a yellow pegasus land in front of her. "Wait! She's on our side!" Fluttershy yelled and explained." She's a transforming squid in a war with evil purple opposites!" "Sounds familiar." Pinkie said. While the ponies were confused, Emily ran with her gun over a hill. Her eyes grew to the size of dishplates. A dozen octolings were tying up ponies and they all aimed to ink the turf. Emily noticed that three inklings were tired at a safe distance. She took squid form... "She's just a squid, who sprays ink around everywhere and she's not hear to harm us..." Fluttershy said. *Splat!* Emily, squid jumped towards her friends and covered the ponies in ink, including Fluttershy. "Our dry cleaning and coats, however..." Rarity looked unamused. "What happened?!"Emily asked her friends. "We were down a member, so the odds were against us and these are some tough octolings." Sam told her. "We got ambushed again, too" Lilo said in a shy voice. "And even worse, I stubbed my toe on a rock!" Tim complained. "Really, Tim?" Emily said. "What?" Tim looked at the faces. Emily brought out some cans she had of special moves. She handed one to each inkling. "Ready to fresh stuff up?" Emily asked. "Let's ink it up!" Sam, Lilo, and Tim raised their weapons. The ponies wanted to help, but the inklings proved they could handle this. Orange ink flew every where. An octoling tried to bomb Lilo, but Tim sniped them from a hill away. Emily and Sam shot ink in desperate places and let some suction bombs splat 4 octolings. The entire team then went into squid form and transformed in krakens and finished them off. "Alright!" The inklings celebrated, but a loud rumbling stopped them. A new robot was rising over the horizon. It was called the ink-snake! It was a giant snake on wheels shooting gallons of purple ink everywhere. It was like seven hydrants going off at once! "It's been an honor working with you all. Tim pulled out a trombone and pretended to play it, but Sam smacked him. "Guys it's time for The Masterpiece." Sam said to everyone. The inkling took position around the snake and Lilo stood in front. She then blew a raspberry and pressed a button on her belt. The snake shot a lot of ink at her, but the bubbler protected her. With the snake distracted, the others were surrounding it in separate spots. Lilo turned into the kraken again and charged into the snake and dented it. She sent it flying and Tim used a killer wail to rattle the robotic beast loose. Sam, made a giant inkzooka and blasted the robotic nightmare into a broken mess. Emily finished it off... "Ink Strike, launch!" Emily pressed a button on a device. The missile blocked the sun and rocketed towards the snake! Sam shouted out loud. "Hey, bird food!" The missile came closer and aimed for the head of the robot. "Stay Fresh!" The inklings shouted in unison. A gigantic orange tornado destroyed the robot and left a gigantic amount of orange ink everywhere. The inkling celebrated and basked in their ink. "That was awesome!" Rainbow Dash smiled. "I've never seen so much paintball in one place like this!" Pinkie bounced in joy. "Thank goodness those octolings are gone." Rarity said. Fluttershy gave Emily a hug and smiled. Emily hugged back. Before the inklings left they did a few things. They worked with Rarity to make some new fresh pony and inkling clothes. They gave Vinyl Scratch a killer wail to go with her wubs. They also painted a few murals across town. "So the octolings are gone?" Twilight asked. "Not permanently, but if they come, we'll come." Sam told Twilight. "So I guess this is goodbye, Emily?" Fluttershy said. "No, we'll come visit and you can come and see Inkopolis." Emily smiled. The pair hugged again and walked off in seperate directions to return to their homes. "Wait, Sam! You forgot about the ink!" Twilight yelled. Sam and the others pressed their buttons and got rid of the ink. "Goodbye inklings." The ponies said. "Remeber to love and tolerate." "Remember to..." The inklings struck cat like poses. "Stay fresh, ponies." They walked into the forest back to the portal to Inkopolis.
