> Courage, friendship and miracles > by x-Kiryu-x > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter 00 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "No way man, the orange one looked cooler then the giant insect..." All trough ought Ponyville, the sound of night filled the air, from crickets to the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. But inside the golden oaks library, Spike, typed away in the computer, several plastic bags of snack and cups once filled with something to drink surrounding him. "Yeah, besides, did you see how he turned into that even cooler version with the shield on his back? It was so epic! I wish I could see it again!" He exclaimed as he said out loud what he was typing. And with a click, he had posted a reply in one of the forums he was participating in. Scrolling down trough some new posts, about how it was weird that anyone with internet saw it, to the weird beings that appeared from nowhere near the end. Until his reptilian eyes caught a particular post. "Want to see the fight? I got some files containing recording of it, just decrypt them and enjoy the show... wow, seriously?!" The young dragon exclaimed as he checked the files, running a quick virus scan before deciding to even try and check out those links. With everything checking out, he started downloading them, excited to know that he was about to watch one of the coolest things ever. "It's not fair..." Inside his dark room, Daisuke Motomiya, or Davis for those in a country like America, sat with his knees to his chest and his arms around them. The usually active boy had a depressed look on his face, dry tears formed around his eyes as he remained alone in the darkened room, with the exception of a few rays of sunlight able to squeeze trough the covers of his windows. But, he wasn't truly alone, in front of him, his digimon partner, in his baby form, Chibimon, Demiveemon for others, watched him with worry. "Daisuke..." He sadly said, seeing his human partner being so down made him feel horrible, but he had no idea on how to cheer him up. The boy slowly blinked, the goggles that usually adorned his forehead were barely dangling from his left hand, before completely falling off from his weak grasp. "I thought I did it... I thought I finally managed to get Hikari to like me... but... it turns out she likes that damn Takeru...!" Daisuke dipped as much venom as he could in his voice at the mention of the child of hope. But no matter how much anger he showed, his true emotions were shown with the tear drops forming in the corner of his eyes. The small blue and white digimon frowned as he looked at his partner, before turning around to look at a device behind him. "Daisuke, you have a lot of emails you know..." Hoping to get a response, Demiveemon only got an uncaring sigh from Daisuke. Wanting to say something else, the baby level digimon was cut off as beeps suddenly sounded from the device behind him. Turning to look at the screen, a small bead of sweat went down his small head. "Daisuke, it's from Iori, he says we need to meet up, there may be something up in the digital world!" He exclaimed. The spiky haired chosen child said nothing, his eyes covered by shadows as he got up, picking up his goggles, a gift from his senpai Taichi, and placing them over his head and then his eyes. Picking up the D-terminal on the floor and then his D-3 digivice on his desk, Davis started heading out the door, but stopped in order to bend down and pick up the scurrying Chibimon. *Cut music* "Hikari-chan, just how much sleep did you get last night...?" Inoue Miyako, also known as Yolei, asked to her friend, adjusting her glasses as they slid down her face slightly from the sudden bowing motion. The light brown and short haired girl, Yagami Hikari, also known as Kari, tiredly blinked, her eyes showing signs of some lack of sleep. "I don't know... I just... couldn't sleep well last night..." She said, a hint of sadness on her eyes. The purple aired girl raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Why not?" She asked, slightly worried about her friend. Kari was about to speak, when the door to the computer room slid open, a boy with brown hair in the style of a bowl haircut walked in with a neutral expression, behind him, a taller thin boy with short and straight dark violet hair stood with a small green digimon covered in some sort of shell surrounding it, in his hands. Miyako turned to see the newcomers and smiled. "Ken-kun, Iori, you're here!" She exclaimed. At the sound of one of the names, a small round digimon hopped from under a desk, bouncing its way towards the boy known as Hida Iori, also known as Cody Hida. Smiling, he knelt down and picked up his partner digimon. "Upamon, I'm sorry I had to leave you." He said. The digimon nuzzled his face onto his partner's chest before looking up, his ears wiggling in excitement. "That's okay Iori! I think I was too busy eating and I know you didn't want to bother me!" The other boy, Ichijōji Ken, or Ken Ichijouji, smiled. "Sorry Iori-san had to go all the way to my house to wake me up, I kinda overslept a bit, ehehe..." He nervously laughed. The digimon in his hands, Minomon, raised his tiny little stubs as he began to speak. "Yeah, no matter how hard I tried, Ken-chan wouldn't wake up! I tried bouncing on him as hard as I could!" He exclaimed. Ken chuckled as he patted his digimon partner's head lightly. "I still apreciate the effort Minomon." He said with a smile. Yolei smiled too, before frowning and looking behind them. "Where's Daisuke?" She asked. Cody reached into his pocket and pulled out his D-terminal, opening it and checking for any new messages. With a press of a button, he noticed he had indeed gotten a new message. "I sent him a message as we started walking back from Ichijōji's, and he just sent me one saying he was coming and that we should go ahead without him, says he'll catch up in a bit." Said Cody as he placed his D-terminal back into his pocket. The entire group with the exception of Kari sighed. "That Daisuke, always late, I bet he's sleeping in or playing dumb on the tv or computer!" Yolei exclaimed, slightly angry. Cody looked slightly down. "You'd think he would of gotten that habit out by now..." Ken said nothing and looked away slightly, he had nothing to add about the current topic of Daisuke's tardyness. Crossing her arms, Yolei walked up to a computer, digivice in hand. "Alright, let's just go without him, he usually never minds, but now we have conformation about it." As soon as she finished saying that, Ken walked next to her, digivice also in hand. "I heard differently about that..." He said, recalling a few times Davis said he'd get upset about being left behind. Cody had his digivice ready as well, and with their digivices ready, they were taken into the digital world by the monitor, Kari the only one left behind as she hadn't raised her digivice. Instead, she stood with a saddened frown looking at the floor. Her digimon partner Tailmon, or Gatomon, walked up to her and looked at her with a worried expression. "What's the matter Hikari?" She asked. The child of light sighed. "I..." She strated, but was caught off as she thought she heard a noise. Looking up and around the room, she blinked. Gatomon blinked at her sudden action, looking around as well, she tried finding what had caught Kari's attention, but seeing nothing, she turned back to her partner. "What is it Hikari?" The girl frowned. "I thought I heard something..." With a sigh, she raised her digivice towards the computer screen, quickly disappearing along with Gatomon. But, unbeknownst to her, she was right, she had heard a noise. Slowly peeking his head in, Davis frowned and walked in, Demiveemon hopping behind him. He grew frustrated, he had sent Cody that message as soon as he got out of his house, that he hadn't checked at what time he got it was another thing. The goggle head sighed before the features in his face turned into what looked like anger, clenching his fist, he raised it slightly. Normally, to get angry at his friends was very rare for Davis, but with a certain event having passed recently, he had enough, and reached his breaking point. He was officially pissed off. Clenching his teeth for a few seconds, he reached into his pocket and grabbed his digivice, pointing it towards the computer monitor and getting taken alongside his digimon partner into the digital world. "Spike? Spike, where are you?" Twilight called out to her assistant as she walked trough her home. The library was closed for the day and it was a lazy day as Spike would usually put it. And speaking of the dragon, Twilight had finally found him as she opened the door to their room. "Spike! There you are!" She exclaimed as she spotted her long time friend sitting in a comfy chair, his eyes concentrating on the device in front of him. The unicorn raised an eyebrow as she finally got next to him. "Have you been here all day?" She asked. The tired looking dragon nodded with a smile. "Yeah! I found something really really really awesome Twi!" He said out loud as he raised his claws and started typing rapidly into the keyboard. Twilight rolled her eyes before looking at the screen, watching several codes being introduced, the arrow moving from one window to another opening and closing others in a seemingly endless cycle. Until she decided to ask what was so 'awesome'. "Well... what is it? Because all I see is you just typing away and clicking on... windows of... what exactly are you doing?" She asked. The unicorn had a very large knowledge regarding computers, but what Spike was doing right now looked like something she had never seen before. The dragon ceased his typing and sighed, letting his body slowly slide down in the chair. "I was extracting several files and compiling them together... and I'm finally done..." He said as he closed his eyes. Twilight blinked, all of that was file decryption? It looked more like he was playing a video game with all those weird symbols. "Well... what did you accomplish by doing that?" She asked, wanting to know why the dragon had gone trough all that, maybe since he had woken up. Spike opened his eyes and smiled as he made some final adjustments with a few clicks. "Well, remember that day our computer acted up?" He said as he readied the file to open. Twilight went slightly wide eyed, how could she forget that day. "That was when those... creatures were all over the internet, fighting..." She said, remembering her and Spike watching in awe as what looked like some sort of monsters fighting against some weird insect looking monster. Smiling, Spike double clicked the readied file and a video started playing. A large sperical looking arena of some sort, with ferris wheels in the background and many other colorful imagery. Twilight's eyes slowly widened as she saw two little creatures fly towards another creature, that seemed to be eating what looked like data of some sort. "Spike... this is..." She tried saying. The dragon cut her off. "Yeah, its that fight!" He exclaimed. Looking at her assistant, she was ready to start asking him questions, when a loud guitar riff startled her. Looking back at the screen, she saw what probably fascinated her the most when she saw this those years ago. They seemed to have... evolved. Twilight watched with awe, at what was going on in her screen, taking a small gulp without noticing. "Their names... they said their names were..." She began to say, but just couldn't muster the strength to say the names of the now evolved creatures. Instead, they called out their names themselves. Both Twilight and Spike watched as the two monsters began to fight. From the large orange with blue stripe dragon looking one to the giant four armed blue insect one. Just like four years ago. "How did you even find this Spike?" She asked as she watched the three creatures fight, flying around as they tried to hit each with blast of different kinds. The child drake watched with a smile. "Last night I saw some guys posting in some forum about this, how they also watched the fight, and after a few hours, somebody posted some files saying they were compressed recordings of it!" Watching the giant dragon looking one and giant insect one finally hit the oddly shaped blue jellyfish looking one, the dragon watched with more intensity. "Oh man, this is when Greymon and Kabuterimon think they beat him!" He exclaimed. Twilight gave a puzzled look at her assistant as he said that. "You... memorized their names...?" She asked. The child dragon nodded. "Yeah, also, before they shinka'd , they were called Agumon and Tentomon!" For what seemed the hundredth time, Twilight had to blink before deciding to ask a question. "Shinka? What is that? Spike, how do you know so much about this? Just how long were you up all nigh?!" She asked that last part with slight annoyance. But before the dragon could reply, they two explosions on the screen. Paying attention back to the screen, they saw the smoke clear, revealing a now small dragon and small insect floating in mid air covered in a few scratches and bruises. "They were going to evolve again... right?" Twilight focused on the escaping one, who had seemed to evolve as well. "But, he beat them to it." Watching it seemingly laugh and escape gave her the creeps back then, and now as well. Sighing, she turned to talk to Spike. "You never told me how you know so much about them now..." The dragon chuckled. "Well, in the forum, everyone started mentioning how they spoke their names outloud before and after evolving, and well, they sounded cool so... how could I not remember?!" He exclaimed, raising both his clawed hands in the air. But, seeing the unicorn in front of him giving him an unamused look, he slowly lowered them. Frowning, he went back to the computer and clicked a few things. "Geez, I thought you'd be excited about this..." He said. Twilight then bit her lip. He was right, inside, she was really excited, these creatures, fighting in what appeared to be the internet seemed so fascinating! But, before that, she felt that she needed to know, just why every computer was able to see that fight. "Okay okay... it is very intriguing to be able to see this again... I just wished you hadn't stayed up all night." She said with a disproving frown. Spike payed no attention to it and watched as the orange dragon alongside a new one, wearing some sort of blue skin fur of some sort fly alongside him. This also caught Twilight;s attention, she remembered this part, they evolve too, but, not like before. This is when things get really serious, when unbeknownst to them, the fate of a world rested in the hands of those two creatures known as digimon. > Chapter 01 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Davis landed on the dirt path with ease, the television behind him buzzing with static before turning off. Walking forward slightly, his now evolved digimon partner, V-mon, or Veemon, walking alongside him with ha worried look on his face. Noticing Davis' frown and scowl, it kinda scared him to see him that way. "Daisuke... are you mad?" He asked. The goggle head closed his eyes in frustration before opening them. "Yes... I am mad V-mon." He said, walking slightly faster, kicking up a slight amount of dirt with his quickened pace. "Are you mad... with the others?" The dragon digimon asked with worry. Davis stopped, making his digimon stop as well. "I... always try my best to not take anything personal when it comes from my friends V-mon... but... right now... I just can't take it anymore... you should know why..." He said, his voice sounding dark and serious. The blue digimon gulped. Rememebering what had caused his partner to get like this. "It started with the finals week right...?" Davis said nothing as he stood there. "And... you almost didn't pass because the majority of the teachers were really piling up on you..." Still, nothing. "And after you got the news you passed, you were still slightly angry you had to stress yourself out... as well as missing out a week and a half of being with..." "Hikari..." Davis said, not turning around, his gloved hands stretching as he clenched his fists. V-mon gulped. "And... when you had the chance to meet her after that... you saw her asking Takeru on a date..." The bomber jacket wearing chosen child started slightly shaking, his head slightly lowering as he clenched his teeth, almost until it started to hurt. "And with the constant... 'nagging' of everyone else... you'd think after all I did I might get it easy at least for a while... but no... I'm still just... Bakamiya..." He said with an almost silent sob at the end. V-mon frowned at his partner's sudden mood, feeling guilt and sadness in his body as he couldn't do anything to help him. So, he decided to do the only thing he could do. "Well... don't worry Daisuke, you're not alone!" Said Veemon as he walked up to place a hand over the boy's wrist. Looking towards his partner, Davis ceased his trembling and decided to listen to his digimon. "I've worked hard too! But it seems that the only perosn that really notices my accomplishments is you! Sure, there is Ken and Wormmon, but I'd like everyone to know just how hard we have worked to save the digital world!" He exclaimed, getting rather angry as well. Nodding his head, he looked at Davis with passion burning in his eyes. "We both always find a way, but nobody truly appreciates it, and if they do, only for a while!" Veemon's sudden speech seemed to have gotten to Davis. "Yeah... your right... how selfish of me to think it was only me... you have it rough too. Don't you V-mon?" He asked as he knelt down to get to his digimon partner's level. The blue dragon digimon nodded. "Yeah, you're not alone, the other digimon are sometimes like that with me... and letting their partners treat you that way... well... it just gets me mad!" He said, raising his fists into his chest. Davis nodded in agreement to his partner's. "Yeah... your right... maybe..." Unbeknownst to the two, a dark aura seemed hover around their feet. "Maybe we should let them know... just like Taichi-senpai and Yamato did! We have to fight!" He exclaimed. V-mon nodded. "I'm with you all the way Daisuke!" The goggle head nodded and got up, placing his goggles over his eyes. "V-mon, shinka!" He said as he raised his digivice. Now evolved, XV-mon, or Exveemon, lowered his arms and helped his partner climb on. "Let's go Daisuke!" Davis nodded as Exveemon spread his wings and jumped into the sky, where they soon started heading at full speed towards a particular chosen child. "Here it is Twilight, warp shinka!" Twilight was too busy paying attention to the screen than listening to the excited dragon beside her, the same fixation she had those four years ago was starting to come back. And despite her low level of knowledge to these creatures, there is one thing she would never forget. 'Warp shinka!' With almost sparkling eyes, Twilight watched the two creatures go through what they called 'warp shinka' never before had she seen anything like it, and to see it again, filled her min with so many questions and the need to want to know the answers. But one thing clouded all that. Amazement. "Wow..." Was all she said as she payed attention to the screen, odd music that she had never heard before playing in the speakers. The two evolved creatures flew at high speed towards the red and white one, knocking it violently side to side with their strength and speed. Suddenly, a guitar riff was heard, it seems one of the other ones were about to evolve as well. Twilight watched in slight worry, she remembered what happened next. "He stopped another from evolving again... right?" Spike nodded. "Yeah... he got the little guy before he could help his friends, along with Tentomon." He said, for one moement, his excited smile turning into a saddened frown. The unicorn took a second to look at her assistant before back to the screen. "They seemed to be allies... all fighting against spider legs..." That last word made Spike give a questionable look at his friend. "Spider legs...?" He asked. Twilight blushed. "Well, what are we supposed to call it then?!" She exclaimed, embarrassed. "Hehe... fine... spider legs it is." Said Spike as he went back to watching the fight. 'Spider legs' had just evolved again before crushing two of the creatures with its claws, stopping them from evolving. This seemed to have greatly injured a small orange one with wings. Twilight was suddenly caught off guard as she felt something... something familiar. The two strong fighters seemed to have gotten angry at their fallen comrade, pushing their strengths. "Grace cross freezer!" The robotic wolf screamed out, multiple missiles suddenly flying out from hidden parts of his body, all of them managing to hit their target, each icy explosion damaging spider legs with either the blast of the hit or the ice that covered him. But he quickly recovered and returned fire with some sort of blast from his chest, managing to hit the metallic fighter. "Mega claw!" Yelled out the orange dragon looking warrior as he flew from the smoke and straight into spider legs. Buthe had already noticed him. Raising one of its claws it tried to knock him back. But missed and only managed to hit one of his gauntlets. It didn't top him from reeling back his now exposed fist and delivering a strong punch towards it, making it fly back and crash into one of the black pillars that surrounded them. Twilight was now sure of what she felt, those two... beings, they, they were fighting for their friends.. she had never felt that four years ago as she was still in Canterlot. But now, as the element of magic for the elements of harmony, she could sense the friendship these creatures shared, the same friendship that was now clear to her, helped them evolve into such strong fighters. Unaware to her or Spike, her cutie mark began glowing. *Cut music* The digidestined and their digimon had searched far and wide throughout the digital world, trying to find out what had caused the disturbance, but, to no avail as they had found nothing. Deciding to group up, they all had decided to meet up in a field not too far from their positions. The first one to get there was the chosen child of hope. Takeru Takaishi, or T.K for short. Alongside his digimon Patamon, they waited for the rest of their friends in the field as they were the only ones there at the moement. But the blonde soon found someone approaching. "It's Daisuke and XV-mon." He said, smiling, but soon had dropped the facial expression. "Oh, right... I never got to say to him-" He was cut off as Davis and Exveemon were in close distance, the chosen child of courage and friendship landing before him with a loud thud. Raising his head, Davis' goggles shined in the sun, not letting T.K see his expression. Said digidestined smiled nervously, feeling awkward. "Daisuke, your here first... oh hey." He said, noticing the rest of the digidestined approaching. Yolei rode on top of Aquilamon, Cody on top of Ankylomon, Kari on top of Nefertimon and Ken on Stingmon's shoulder. Kari was the first to notice Davis there. With an uneasy feeling growing in her, she watched in silence before the other spoke. "So, Daisuke is here, took him long enough... huh?" Yolei gave a puzzled expression as the gogglehead walked closer to T.K, with a weird vibe in his step. The chosen child of light grew slightly worried. "Daisuke... what's-" T.K was cut off as he suddenly felt his left cheek receive a strong blow from Davis' fist. Everyone watching gasped. "Motomiya!?" Exclaimed Ken, shocked by the sudden act from his friend. Patamon went slightly wide eyed. "Takeru!" He exclaimed, flying towards him and Davis, but was blocked by Exveemon. "Stay out of it." The large blue dragon digimon warned, starring down at the winged digimon. T.K grabbed his stinging cheek before looking up at Davis, his hands still balled into fists. "Daisuke?!" He exclaimed, wanting to know why he had done that. But he did not respond, instead, he only knelt over him, grabbing him by his shirt's collar, slightly lifting him up. "Shut up and get up Takaishi!" He yelled, his goggles ceasing their shining for a brief second to show his angry eyes. The digidestined of light growled, pulling back a fist and quickly swinging it forward, hitting Davis in the chin, enough to knock him off. Getting up, T.K watched Davis quickly recover from the hit, and before he could react, the gogglehead had lunged forward, tackling the barely able to get up T.K. The two digidestined rolled on the grass for a few seconds before separating and getting up. Once both had stood, dirtied and slightly scratched by the small rocks underneath the grass, they readied themselves for another set of blows. Not wanting to just stand around and not do anything, T.K was ready to keep fighting Davis. And Davis was not about to give up, T.K had this coming a long time ago. Patamon couldn't stand to watch, T.K was getting hurt! Not thinking straight, he inhaled deeply. "Air shot!" He yelled as he releases a compressed gust of air into Davis' direction. Not having time to react, the gogglehead could only watch as the attack neared him. But it was blocked by a large blue hand. Exveemon had quickly protected Davis, his sight never leaving Patamon's. "I thought I told you to stay out of this." He said. The flying digimon frowned. Takeru frowned as well before grabbing his digivice. But as he did, thought of his brother's fight with Tai flashed trough his mind. Yet, it was too late, as he had already gave into his emotion, letting his digimon partner evolve. And now, the angel digimon stood before the dragon digimon, both staring down at each other, ready to fight. Without saying a word, they took to the sky, leaving Davis and T.K to resume their brawl. Yolei frowned with angry eyes. "Just what has gotten into Daisuke?! Wh y would he do that?!" She asked outloud as they all flew closer to the fight, wanting to separate the two. But Yolei, Cody and Ken were all caught off guard as Nefertimon and Kari flew past them, reaching the two fighting digidestined quickly. Getting off of her digimon, she rushed towards them. "Stop it! Stop fighting!" She yelled. But it was no use, the two boys rushed towards each other, their fist fight resuming where it had left off. The chosen child of light could only watch with sadness swelling up in her chest as she watched her two friends fight. 'Was... was this... all my fault...?' She asked in her mind as she fell to her knees. Nefertimon had decided to fly up, in between Exveemon and Angemon. "Stop, what do you think you two are doing?!" She demanded. Angemon was the first to reply. "Daisuke attacked Takeru, and Exveemon stopped me from helping him!" He said. Exveemon raised his fist as he spoke. "And I told you to stay out of it! This is between Daisuke and Takeru, and now, it's between you and me!" He yelled. "Just what is it that you think this will acomplish?!" Asked Angemon. The dragon digimon lowered his fist. "I will always be by Daisuke's side, always, you're not on Daisuke's side! So that means you're not on my side!" He yelled. "Now please, Nefertimon, get out of the way!" Exveemon placed his arms over his chest, a red light starting to shine underneath it. "Watch out!" Exclaimed Angemon, pushing his friend as lightly as he could with his staff before concentrating back to the fight. Nefertimon was able to recover from the push too late as she saw what was coming next. "Stop!" She yelled. "Heaven's...!" The angel digimon reeled back his now flaming fist as the dragon continued charging his attack, and soon enough, they both pulled off their attacks simultaneously. "X-Laser!" "Knuckle!" Time slowed down as both Kari and Nefertimon watched their two friends about to clash, Daisuke and Takeru each about to plant a strong blow into each other's face and Exveemon and Angemons attacks were about to clash with each other. The other digidestined shared the same fate, being only able to watch. Unbeknownst to them, this, would cause a chain reaction that will lead to a new adventure for one of them.
