> Guild of the Mystics: The Books > by nerdyGAMERgrl > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Just a Book > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the Cutie Map incident, Twilight was exhausted and stressed from the adventure. She opened the door to the castle and sighed, "Spike, are you home?" she yelled, she then realized what time it was, and concluded that Spike must have been sleeping. Sluggishly, she walked towards her bedroom door and opened it. Twilight looked at her bookshelf to see if she could read something to relieve her stress. She was about to read How To: Expert Magic Abilities! again, when she noticed something, there was a button behind her Daring Do Book Series shelf, "Strange," she whispered to herself, "I've never seen that there before." She wanted to just leave it there and wait until morning, but her curiosity began to stir. She wanted to see what was inside, but a little part of her said to leave it. Finally, she pressed the button, a small door opened behind the books, after the dust cleared, it revealed to be a small booklet. It had a strange cover with a picture of a strange, snake-like pony with a snake tail and a pony upper half. Twilight opened the book, noticing a small text, she squinted and read: If thou is ready for adventure, Continue reading. Book, book, book of old, Take me to a place of gold. Where ponies laugh, And ponies play. But danger can come, at any day. After she read the booklet, she looked up to realize that something was wrong. Very wrong. She wasn't in the castle anymore, she was in a strange land. The sky was completely blue and not a single cloud hovered over it, the sun was seemingly a red color, and a large building seemingly made of quartz was in front of her. She looked around to notice a circle of ponies, all unicorns, cheering at the sight of her. "Wha? Who are you? What's going on?" she asked, eyes widening nervously. "There is nothing to fear, young one..." said a voice similar to Princess Celestia. Twilight spun around to see a unicorn hovering on a cloud, she was tall, and had fur similar to Applejack's, she had short, wavy, red hair. "W-Who are you?" she asked, stammering. "I am Sunny Rose, the headmaster of our guild." she said, smiling calmly. "My name is Twilight Sparkle," she said, "But that doesn't explain why I am here." Sunny chuckled a little and said, "Oh Twilight, you are supposed to be here. It's your destiny..." "Destiny?" she asked. "Ah, you must be very confused." Sunny intoned, smiling, "Follow me to my office." Twilight, now very confused, nodded. She followed the mare into a room, once she entered, she noticed that there was a large desk and many of the same booklets on the shelves behind it. The mare sat down, pulling out a chair for Twilight to sit in. She did so, and looked at the pony in front of her. "You see, in this world, we are all unicorns. But some, have rebelled against us. Now, I understand why, but that is..." she said, pausing to write in a booklet, "Classified. The point is, we need you." "But, what about my friends? Rarity is a unicorn, Lyra is a unicorn, Vinyl is a unicorn... Why not them?" Twilight asked, a worried look on her face. Sunny looked at her with utter seriousness, "You are the Winged-One, the one with the greatest magic in this entire realm. Equal to my abilities, one who is said to stop the rebellion." she said, putting the booklet down on a shelf behind her. Embarrassed, Twilight looked at her wings, "Really? My name is the Winged-One in this realm?" she said, blushing, "I guess, that's fine. But, where do I go?" Sunny smiled, "You are going to a tower hidden in Evermore Jungle, Southwest from our guild. But you aren't going by yourself dear, you are going with a few others, Mythic Haze, Crystal Aura, and Moonlight Thunder." 3 ponies trotted in from behind the door, two mares and a stallion. They were each (of course) unicorns, they all smiled, ready for action. "So, would you like to begin this journey?" Sunny asked, a gentle smile curled on her lips. Twilight looked back at her and nodded, "Yes, ma'am!" she said, smiling. After 2 minutes of preparing, Moonlight walked up to her and gave her a potion labelled Healing, Twilight looked at the stallion. "It might come in handy." he said, smiling. Before she could say "Thank You!" he was trotting off with the group, Twilight placed the potion in her bag and walked over to them. "Let's go." she said, smiling confidently. So, they sped towards the forest, another figure watched them from a distance. A strange creature with a pony upper half and a snake's lower half. She was a Lamia, a mythical creature that could hypnotize anyone. She would not let them finish their journey. > Danger Can Come > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Twilight stood behind the group, looking around the jungle. She could hardly believe that she was going on an adventure, just after she went on another adventure that nearly brainwashed her! She shook her head, trying not to think about it, she trudged on. There was thick mud everywhere, and it was almost impossible to walk in. "Don't worry," Crystal grunted, lifting her front hoof, "We'll be out of this crap soon enough, the ground is getting more solid." Finally, they began walking normally again, Moonlight looked at Twilight, smiling. He usually looked up and around to try and find any danger that could come reign down on them from above, he was seemingly focused on protecting her. Mystic Haze suddenly stopped, she closed her eyes and stood very still. "What's going on?" Twilight exclaimed, only to be shushed by Crystal. Mystic looked to the right and glared, she then looked at the group, "I sense something, danger." "Danger? What kind of danger?" Crystal asked, looking around. "She can sense danger?" Twilight asked. "Ever since she was a filly." Moonlight whispered. Mystic spun around and shot a laser out of her horn, something screeched and landed with a thump. Twilight had never heard that sound before, but apparently, the rest of the group had. "Goblins." Crystal said, "We killed one, should we go loot it?" "Heck yeah, don't you know what kind of stuff they have?" Moonlight exclaimed, already rushing over to the sound. Twilight trotted over with the rest of the group, she saw a green, elf pony-like beast. It was small and had a large bag and weapons on it's belt. Moonlight scavenged through the bag, he pulled out food, potions, and a note. Twilight took the note with her magic and read: Dear Goblins, I have a small job for you, I need you to kill four ponies, Crystal Aura, Mythic Haze, Twilight Sparkle, and Moonlight Thunder. Do this, and I will pay you 200 emerald chips. They should be in Evermore Jungle, trying to find our base. Kill them, and you gain the money. -Silver Edge "Great," Mythic said, kicking a rock, "Now the Rebellion knows we're here!" "How did they find out?" Moonlight said, glancing at Crystal. "Um, ever heard of eavesdropping?" Mythic said, growling in frustration. "The Rebellion is NOTHING!" Crystal exclaimed, biting her lower lip, "If the Lamia Kingdom discovers we are here, we're doomed." There was a lamia directly above them, listening to their every word. She smiled and chuckled a little, she knew that she would hypnotize them one by one. She then saw Moonlight, smiling at Twilight, she smirked, Perhaps, only one would be just fine. Especially since they will most likely be lovers very soon. she thought, slithering with them. As they trudged on, the lamia only planned more and more, as she followed their every move.
