Chapter 1:The Fall

Today was a big day; I was going to participate in the final obstacle that would determine if I moved on to the next level of the academy. You know what the best part was? I was ready! I had prepared myself for anything! I felt like I could past this obstacle with ease. I mean, it was just the second level at the academy, so nothing really should stop me, but it did. The one thing that stood in my way was this…

It was another sunny day at the academy, but it was still special. All the cadets had to pass some kind of obstacle in order to move onto the next level of the academy. This was a very important day for the cadets. Too bad it turned out to be something else.

"I'm telling you, Fleet! There is no way this was intentional!" said Soarin. He was walking inside a hall of the academy, making his way to the training field where the cadets were supposed to be taking their test.

"For the last time, Soarin! It was!" Fleetfoot, who was walking and making her way to the field herself, said to him. They were having a little argument about the test.

"There is no way that Spitfire would give a level 3 test to the cadets that are in level 2 on purpose!" He shot at her.

"I can't believe it either, but it's true.." she said to him. Soarin rolled his eyes, still not believing her.

"What's all this commotion about?!" yelled a voice behind them. They both turned around and saw Spitfire standing behind them, wearing an unamused look on her face.
"Finally! Will you please tell Fleetfoot that you did not arrange a level 3 test for the level 2 cadets on purpose!" Soarin said.

"She did..." Fleetfoot rolled her eyes while murmuring to herself. Spitfire closed her eyes.

"As a matter of fact, I did," she said as she calmly passed by him.

"Ha! I told yo-wait WHAT?!" Soarin exclaimed in disbelief, "Are you crazy?" He started getting in her face as she remained calm.

"No, I'm not" she clarified. Soarin got out of her face but the look of disbelief didn't leave his.

"Then why-" he began but was cut by Spitfire.

"Because these are the best cadets I have seen so far, and I am confident that they can past the level 3 test," she said.

"But they aren't! Level 3 tests require teamwork, which means all of the cadets working together, and level 2 doesn't have that. They only work in pairs during that level; there is no way that they can pass this!" he said, slightly angry.

"We'll see then," she said walking outside to the training field. "Oh...and if I'm wrong, feel free to look over my Wonderbolt status," she said before walking out for good this time. Soarin looked straight at Spitfire as she left while Fleetfoot stood by his side.

"Yeah, we’re doomed."

Ch1:The Fall

"OKAY, LISTEN UP!" called out Spitfire, now wearing her academy uniform. The cadets were all lined up one behind the other wearing their own uniforms. "You see that piece of land over there?" Spitfire asked the cadets while pointing to a small piece of land near the Academy. "There you will find a loose tornado, on my mark, you will fly over there and try to gain control of it. If you get blown out you fail, if you stay until the end you pass. Any questions? No? GOOD," she said, not giving them a chance to ask before blowing her whistle to signal the first cadet to take off, and she continued to do so for every cadet. "Come on, come on! You should have this done in 7 minutes!" she said to them.

"Expect falling cadets in 3," Soarin said wile pouting in annoyance.
"Soarin!" Fleetfoot yelled to him.

"What? You didn't expect me to be positive about this, did you?!" He replied in a rather unpleasant manner.

"You on a regular basis with a non-crazy Spitfire, yes. You on a regular basis with a crazy Spitfire, no." She answered.
He simply flattened his brow and sighed deeply.

"I just hope they won't get hurt too badly."

Meanwhile the number of cadets in line was getting shorter and shorter, as the cadets were almost all taken off and flying towards the tornado. Down at the very end of the line stood the last 4 cadets.

"Good luck, Rainbow Dash." A cadet wished the rainbow mane-colored pegasus.

"Thanks, not that I need it. But I appreciate the thought."she said just before Spitfire blew her whistle, signaling her to take off.

And so she did. She took off with a confident smile as she reached great speeds, leaving a rainbow trail behind as she flew towards the tornado. It didn't take long for her to find the tornado and when she did, she jumped right in it. She began taking control of the tornado but found it more challenging than expected. However, that wasn't enough to bring her down, but it sure was for the others. Ponies were falling out of the tornado like fleas. Screams erupting from the falling ponies could be heard from miles away.

"Whoa! That's like the fiftieth cadet that fell out!" Rainbow said to herself. all of a sudden, she felt something hit her hard. It was another cadet; the cadet had crashed into her and soon enough, she was sent flying out of the tornado in record speed.

The strength of the push was strong, and with the tornado's harsh wind, she was going down good. The blow was strong enough that it forced the goggles away from Dash's eyes, and unfortunately for her, she was heading towards a tree. "Gah!" A grunt of pain was heard as Rainbow Dash landed right onto a tree. The sharp branches from the tree were sharp enough to rip her uniform and give the poor pegasus enough bruises to last for a life time.

Her uniform hung on a branch as Rainbow Dash slid off the tree and started to fall to the ground fast, but this time she was unconscious as well. There was at least 200 feet from the tree to the ground, giving Rainbow Dash a small chance of survival.

"Gotcha! "A voice yelled. Finally, Rainbow Dash's luck changed as somepony had come to her rescue, saving her from plummeting to her doom. That pony was no other then Soarin himself. He knew from the very start that this was a bad idea, that there will be a lot injuries, but.. he never thought that it would be this bad...

Ch 2:At The Hospital

“Rainbow?”

“Rainbow Dash?”

The word's echoed in Dash’s head as she slowly began opening her eyes. She started rubbing her head as the blurry blue image in front of her began to clear.

“S-Soarin? What are yo-ah!” she stopped mid-sentence as she suddenly felt a shock wave pulse through her head.

“Oh good, you're okay” he said, completely ignoring what had just happened.
Rainbow got a hold of herself and, rather painfully, asked, “W-what happened?”

Soarin tuck a step back, a little confused, “You mean you don't remember?”
Dash thought a little for a moment before shaking her head, “No, I don't.”

Soarin was surprised. He knew she had hit her head rather hard on the tree, and the speed she was going didn't help at all but… this? This, he did not expect.

“Well, I think that's because you took a hard hit but… It… doesn't make sense how you don't remember your fall and your fall only… I'm sure that when your friends get here it'll be all sorted out.” He said with some concern.

“My what?” She asked him, confused.

“Your friends, don't you remember them?”
Dash simply shook her head. Soarin was shocked, he couldn’t believe it! Did Dash have a...a

“Amnesia.” a voice behind him said. It was the doctor. “I'm afraid to say that Ms. Dash has hit her head harder than we thought.” the doctor said, apologetically.

“That can't be! I mean, she knows who I am!”
The doctor rubbed his chin, “It is possible that she remembers some ponies I guess..”

Soarin looked at him blankly, “Doc… She doesn't remember any of her friends! Why would she remember me, and not them?” It didn't make sense. It simply didn't. Why would Rainbow Dash remember him and not her friends? They were more important to Dash than him, right? …right? His train of thought was interrupted as a knock was heard from the door, followed by a purple alicorn princess.

“Rainbow? Are you in here-DASH!” She ran towards Rainbow Dash and looked her over. She gasped. “Wow, what happened to you?”
Rainbow rolled her eyes, “I wish I knew…” She muttered.

“Twi? What is it? Is she okay?” Applejack came in as well, and as soon as she saw Dash, she ran towards her, also worried. Soon, the rest of their friends came in and surrounded the poor pegasus. They all started talking to her, asking her all sorts of questions as Dash simply lay there, looking at them, confused and wondering who these ponies were.

“Oh, Rainbow… we were so worried!” Fluttershy stated.

“You really scared us this time, sugarcube!” Applejack agreed.

“And we missed you sooooooooooo much!” Pinkie yelled out, as she popped in out of nowhere.

Dash was so confused at what just happened, “How did you-”
She was cut off as Twilight came in closer, “We sure did!” Dash leaned back.

“Ugh! What are you wearing?! Here, let me take it off for you, darling. There! Much better!” Rarity exclaimed, as she took Dash's hospital shirt off.

The next thing Dash knew, they were all hugging her. Dash was lost; who the hay were these ponies? What are they doing here? How do they know her? And why were they hugging her?!

Soarin coughed slightly. “I hate to break up the… umm, friendship reunion, but I'm afraid I have to say that Dash, well, she um…” he stopped and looked at them. They were all still in a group hug. Dash was still looking at them funny as the rest of the girls were all looking at him, waiting for whatever important thing he had to say.

He gulped, “She has amnesia.”

“WHAT?!” they all yelled out in shock.

“And… apparently, she needs to be supervised for… a whole month?” he read off the notes that were on her bed.

“But, why?” Twilight flew up to him and asked.

“Well,” Soarin began, “The doctors say that, because of the amnesia, it's not safe for her to be alone… well, that and the fact that she has a broken left wing and two broken back hooves.” he finished, putting the notes back down on the bed where he found them.

“That must have been one heck of a fall if she managed all that!” Applejack stated.

“It was, and it was one heck of a tree too.” Soarin answered, before looking at them with a raised eyebrow. “So, which one of you is able to take her in?” He asked them.

They all looked around at each other. “Well, I'm definitely out. I mean, I am a princess, so I can't be there for her all the time.” Twilight said, apologetically.

Dash sighed, “Thank goodness…”

“I can't do it either, Zap Apple season is starting tomorrow; I'll have to spend 3 full days just picking them!” Applejack told them.

“Very sorry darlings, I'm going on tour with Sapphire Shores. As her costume designer, I have to go along.” Rarity apologized.

“Maud is coming home for a few weeks, and I Pinkie Promised that I'd be there!” Pinkie exclaimed, distraught.

“My family reunion is this week. Besides, I don't think that surrounded by animals for a whole month will be healthy for you.” Fluttershy said, lowering her head.

“Oh that's okay, umm, who ever you are. I’m sure I'll be fine here at the hospital!” Dash assured her; glad she wouldn't have to spend so much time with any of the strange ponies.

The door opened again, only this time, it was the doctor who opened it. “I’m sorry girls, but visiting hours are over. Commander Soarin, you may stay for a few minutes, but no longer!” he addressed the group. Soarin nodded his head and the doctor left, soon followed by the girls.

Twilight stopped in front of the door and looked back at Rainbow Dash. “Well, I hope you're better soon, Rainbow…” she said, leaving, and closing the door behind her with her magic.

When they all had left, Soarin turned around towards Rainbow Dash with his eyes closed. “Rainbow, I know you said you'd stay at the hospital, but I-” he paused, “What are you doing?”

When he opened his eyes, Dash was getting of the bed, or rather, trying to get off the bed.

“What's it look like I'm doing? I'm getting as far away from those weirdos as possible!” She exclaimed.

“You're gonna hurt yourself.” Soarin said blankly.

“No I'm not, see? I'm fine-WHOA!!” she managed to stay on her hooves for a mere second, but fell in Soarin's embrace immediately after.

“I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so” he said helping her to her hooves again.

“Look, I don't care if they were my friends before, but I am not staying with any of them. I'd rather stay at the hospital, and that’s saying something! But obviously, if there is another choice, I'll take it!”

Soarin's expression changed as a smile grew on his face. “Actually there is.”

Dash lit up. “There is?”

Soarin nodded, “I'm not sure if you are pleased with it but… it's better then nothing. I have some ponies that help out at my place-”

“Ya mean servants?” Dash interrupted.

“Well yes, but anyway! They are there all the time, so even when I'm at work, you will be supervised, so if it's okay with-” he didn't even get to finish his sentence as Rainbow Dash hugged him tight. Soarin was surprised; it took him a while to gain control. Dash surely was strong, but he was by far stronger.

“Whoa there,” he said, chuckling, “I know hospitals are bad, but-who am I kidding, they’re horrible!”

Dash laughed, “You bet! Thank you so much! When are we leaving?”

Soarin smiled “Now.”

Ch 3:A Sky Guest

The cloud carriage left the two pegasi in front of Soarin's house and went around to park after.

She was staring at Paradise! The entire building was made out of cloud. It had a giant gate and an even bigger garden. There were about four
fountains on the front, all sorts of amazing plants, statues and even a gazebo. But none of that was as much eye catching as the actual house or the amount of guard. There were two on the front of the gate, two before all the entrances of the building and a whole bunch of them around the gate. But Dash didn't even seem to notice any of it; all she was looking at was the house. If you can call it a house! It was as big as a castle!

"What am I looking at?" She asked, refusing to look away from the sight before her.

"My home" he said simply.

"You didn't say you lived in a castle in heaven!" Soarin rolled his eyes at her comment.

"It’s not a castle...it’s a mansion ".When he approached, the guards opened the gates. He took another step forward before stopping. He looked back at Rainbow and pointed towards the mansion with his head.

Dash's eyes widened. "Oh, no, no, no, no, no! I am not going in there! “Soarin sighed deeply before turning towards the guards and gave them a signal and went inside. Dash raised an eyebrow, but before she knew it, she was dragged in by the guards. They dropped her a few feet in before closing the gate and getting back in their positions.

"Well, are you gonna come in or what?" He asked. Dash blinked.

"Are you kidding that thing is so not may class!"

"Please, you've been in Canterlot Castel, The Crystal Castel in the Crystal Empire, and you even have your own one throne in the Friendship Castel!" He stopped walking as he suddenly remembered that she had amnesia. He turned his head back to only find Dash with her bottom lip to the ground. "Oh yeah, you don't remember any of that do you?" Dash tried to motion a 'no' but couldn't bring herself to it because of her shock. "Well, this would be a bad time to mention thet you're the element of loyalty." he said while dragging her across the garden.

"The what?!”

They slowly entered, and as soon as Dash saw the inside, her mouth dropped once more. The inside was all blue. It was so clean that she could see her reflection in almost everything!

"Welcome!”They were immediately welcomed by a maid .She had magenta eyes, a blue coat, and a darker mane. But what really was astonishing to Dash was the fact that she had a horn instead of wings. The maid wore a sweet smile "Why, master! You didn't say we were going to have a guest!" she said, not losing her present smile.

"It was kind of last minute, but anyway, Dash this is Meteor Shower, Meteor Shower, this is Rainbow Dash" the blue unicorn lifted her hoof.

"Pleased to meet you!" Dash shook her hoof.

"You too."

“Oh, you simply must stay for dinner; we’re having "the special"" Dash raised an eyebrow and looked at Soarin as he licked his lips

"’The special’?”she asked him,as Soarin simply chuckled.

"Trust me you'll love it, and actually Shower, she will be staying a little longer than usual guests." he said with a slight smirk on his face

"Huh? You mean over night?"

He shook his head. "I mean for one month". The blue unicorn looked at him for a few seconds before bursting out in laughter

"Good one, master! Hahaha. Ha...ha? Why aren't you laughing?" Dash gave her an awkward smile as Soarin's smirk grew wider. "You're not joking?"

"But wh-!!" she gasped as she suddenly noticed that her left wing was bandaged, alongside her back hooves. "Oh my! What happened?" She asked in shock. Soarin gave a slight chuckle.

"It's a long story".

"Oh, my goodness! That sounds horrible!" Shower said. Once all three ponies settled down into the living room Soarin started to tell Shower what happened. Once Soarin had just finished telling her what happened with Dash, Shower sat in silence for a minute before speaking.

"Yeah it's a very unpleasant thing to go through" Soarin said. The door opened, as another maid came in. She was yellow pegasus, with a pink mane and blue eyes. She looked obviously older then Meteor Shower. She was caring a tray of two cups of hot chocolate on her back.

“There you go, master." Soarin gave her a worm smile as she placed a cup in front of him.

"Thank you. Rainbow, this is Ms. Cloud Puff, Cloud Puff, this is Rainbow Dash. She is our guest for the month." Rainbow smiled at her.

"Ah yes, it's an honor to meet you! I have your room ready by the way, if you would like to rest up. "She offered.

“I'd like that.”

Ms. Cloud Puff showed Rainbow to her room with Soarin following as well. Dash entered her room and was immediately welcomed with a beautiful sight. The room was enormous. It had a huge cloud bed that looked ever so comfortable, a balcony with a beautiful view. She also recognized some pictures from famous artist. It was simply beautiful." It’s perfect, thank you" Dash said to them.

Ms. Cloud Puff nodded and left.

"We'll,I'll let you rest now I'll wake you up for dinner, and If you need anything, my rooms second door on the left "Soarin said leaning on the door

"I'll keep that in mind "

Soarin smiled and slowly closed the door.

Ch 4:The Tour

It was later that day. Soarin and Rainbow had a marvelous dinner, and not too long afterwards, Soarin suggested a tour of the place, for he knew that if he didn't, she'd probably get lost. He started the tour from upstairs. The first few rooms were all guest rooms, but then they entered what seemed to Dash to be the largest library ever. It, like every room before, was spotless. She wasn't that big of a booklover, but these were her kind of books. "Ha!" she gasped as she saw a book. On the cover of the book was a mare, wearing a dark cape, and behind her in the darkness of the sky were two red, evil-looking eyes staring at her. Above the eyes was written the title. "The Count of Transylvania," she read out loud. Soarin apparently took notice of Dash’s silent gasp.

“Yeah, I have the whole series," Soarin replied casually. Dash's eyes lit up.

"You - what? That's amazing! How?"

Soarin chuckled, "I have my ways... Hey, wait, you remember these books?"

Dash replied, "Yeah ... I do.” This was unbelievable; it just didn't make any sense: why did she only remember these small little details and not something life-changing? "I remember reading the first two not too long ago..." she said, rubbing her chin.

Soarin's ears shot up. Maybe she only remembered this stuff because it was recent... she did see him at the academy, they even went on a night flight together the day before the crash. It may not be much information, but it was still better than nothing.

"Wow! You have 'Long Live the King' too? You are officially the coolest pony ever!" she said as she picked up another book. This one had a light blue stallion with navy blue hair and big handsome emerald eyes. If she didn't know any better, she'd say it was Soarin; the only difference was that the character on the book cover had a messier mane and a scar on his eye. The stallion was standing on a cliff, surrounded by green fire as he gazed at the sky.

"That’s my favorite," Soarin said as he came in closer to Dash.

"I don't blame you, this book is amazing! I remember it having a huge battle scene that was simply epic!"

Soarin chuckled at her comment. "Well you remember right; it was epic. Sure do hope they make a movie out of it... Hey, that reminds me..." he said, walking around Dash and out of the room. Dash put the book where she found it and followed after him.

"What, do you have a movie room too?" Dash asked sarcastically.

"Oh, my gosh, you do," she said, gazing at the room. The sight before her was too much to take in: the room was even bigger than the library; it had at least 6 windows, thousands of shelves filled with movie tapes stacked like the books in the library, there was a big, black screen in front of her and a few meters away was a projector. "It's beautiful," she said, still entranced.

"Yep, this is by far my favorite room. I watch a movie or two here almost every day," Soarin said, walking slowly towards the black screen.

"I'm surprised you haven't been in one," Dash said, chuckling to herself.

"Well..." Soarin said.

He sat down on a huge group of pillows. Dash's eyes shot up. "You have?"

Soarin smiled awkwardly. "Just two."

Dash stared at him. "Is there anything you haven't done?" Rainbow sat down next to him.

"I haven't been on the moon, but considering I may not come back for 1000 years, I don't think I'd like to," he said as Dash chuckled.

"Hey, what are these?" Dash asked as her eyes landed on a few movie tapes which were on the floor next to her.

"Oh, those are some movies I watched last night," Soarin said.

"Hey, can we watch some tonight?" Dash asked, looking back at him.

"Sure, which ones do you want? I'm pretty sure I have almost every movie here."

Dash smirked "Well, I can't seem to remember you in any movie I have seen, so…" Her smirk widened.

"Do we have to?" He whined.

"Yes!" Dash insisted.

"Ugh, fine! But we'll see them tonight! Right now we need to get back to our tour, come on!"

Soarin showed Dash his exercise room next, and, of course, stayed there for a good thirty minutes just showing her each and every machine, and it didn't help that Dash was barely able to walk. Next came the spa. Yes, he has his own spa... I'm not jealous... moving on. He showed her his kitchen next; it was huge, filled with all sorts of chefs. The living room was also big; but then again, every room was.

The thing that got Dash’s attention was that every room looked normal, only bigger and shiner... yes, shiny, clean, and with an arrangement of fancy items. Soon enough, Soarin showed Dash his other favorite room.

"You have a board-game room?" Dash stared at all the games in front of her, unable to hide her enthusiasm.
Seriously, what didn't he have? Again, not jealous...

"It can get very boring on off days, especially since I can't go outside without getting mobbed by fans and paparazzi," he said, leading her in.

"I have so got to play all these games and beat you at them!" Dash said, looking at all the games. There were so many to look at; she didn't even know how to play half of them!

"Yeah, good luck with that."

Dash smirked. "Oh, so you think you can beat me?"

Soarin smirked as well. "Oh, I know I can. Like I said, I've been in here long enough to master these games."

Dash stopped. "Challenge accepted!"

Soarin stopped as well and looked back at her. "Bring it!"

They were having so much fun that they lost track of how many games they played and how many times they let each other win. It was crazy!

But as fun as it was, alas, all good things must come to an end, so they decided to stop playing games and started to get a movie ready.

*(Ps: Soarin won the most games; don't tell Dash I said it!)*

"I got the popcorn," Soarin said. He and Dash were now back in the movie room to watch Soarin's movies. He carefully put the popcorn in front of them and sat down next to Dash on the pillows, and covered them with a warm blanket.

"Great. I can't wait to see you act," Dash laughed.

"Yea, yea, we'll see who's laughing at the end!"

The fire rose. Flames surrounded the cage once more. Its eyes were closed as it rested calmly in its long, and peaceful slumber... but how much longer would it last? How long would the peace and harmony in Equestria last? For its hibernation was almost over... just like Equestria was.
