By:By Soarindash959 Ch 1:A New Challenge Students were running all around the halls of Cloudsdale High. As the bell rang, signaling the students that their classes had ended and they all began preparing for the next one, so did two certain individuals. "So, what do you think it'll be this time?" asked Fleetfoot. "Beats me..." answered Spitfire as she picked up her books from the locker and closed it. She turned around, facing the other girl. "...but I doubt it's going to be that different from last time, Fleetfoot," she said as she took off down the hall. Fleetfoot followed closely after. "I suppose... But I sure do hope that it'll be some actual competition this time, Spitfire," she said as her friend released a small chuckle. "Heh, yeah... Those 'Griffins' aren't as tough as they may seem," she said as she stopped in front of a big door. "Well, it looks like we're about to find out," Fleetfoot said as she walked in, Spitfire doing the same a second or so after. When they entered, they found themselves standing in a huge and dark room. The room had a stage in the front and seats for the audience that were almost all full. The girls immediately started searching for the rest of their friends: Soarin, Rapidfire, and Wave Chill. But, unfortunately for them, the three boys were nowhere in sight, so they decided to pick some seats for themselves and save three for the boys when they came. "Attention, students," a voice called out. It came from Cloudsdale High's principal, Principal Shade. She was a tall woman with blond hair and yellow eyes. "I'm sure you all know why I asked you to come here," she said as she started walking in a circle on the stage. "We have been challenged. And it's by none other than-" She was cut off as the door sprung open, revealing three teenage boys. "Uh... haha... Sorry, Principal Shade!" Wave Chill apologized as he started to look for Spitfire and Fleetfoot. "We'll just go sit.." He then spotted them. "Over there! Come on, guys!" he said as all three of them sat down in the seats the girls had saved for them. "As I was saying, this time we are challenged by an old nemesis of mine... Canterlot High! But! I am confident that we can defeat them, as a lot has changed since our last game," she said, stopping before she continued, "The events themselves will remain unknown; it shall be a surprise. But as usual only ten students will participate! And those are.." she took a folded piece of paper from her pocket, unfolded it, and began to read the names of the ten students: "Spitfire, Soarin, Fleetfoot, Rapidfire, Wave Chill, Misty Fly, Blaze, High Winds,Lightning Streak and Fire Streak. The ten of you are dismissed for the rest of the day so you may prepare; meet me tomorrow in front of the school at ten a.m. sharp, that's when the bus to Canterlot High is going to come to pick us up. As for the rest of you, you will retain the same school schedule and take regular classes. The games will last one week, so while I'm gone Vice Principal Silver Lining will be put in my position. That is all," she said, releasing the students. Everyone got up from the seats and began heading for the door. "Soarin," she called out. He stopped and turned back to face the principal. "Yes?" She motioned with her head. "We need to talk; come with me," she said, walking past him and through the door. Principal Shade brought Soarin to her office. "Please, sit down," she said to him before doing so herself. "I called you here because you are my most trusted student, and I need you to help me with something," she said as she opened a drawer and pulled up some files. "I am afraid to say that Canterlot High may not be as easy to defeat as I first thought... for it seems that they have developed somewhat of a reputation. Test scores are up; grades, even athletics are on the rise, and these are the ones who made it happen," she said, handing him the files. Soarin opened them. There were six files, each one had a picture of what seemed like a girl student of Canterlot High and alongside it were their grades and records. "These are Canterlot High's best students, whom I'm certain will participate in the games, and apparently, earlier this year, they gained Crystal Prep's star student as well. And that is horrible. When it comes to sports, I have no doubt we will win, but... there will be other games too, and those we might lose." Soarin looked up from the files. "And what can I do about it?" She laughed softly. "Soarin, you are my best student; you can help us win those games, but I'm afraid there aren't any other students who can back us up, so... we need to have a plan B if things aren't going as planned." Soarin raised an eyebrow. "You want us to cheat?" She shook her head. "No, of course not. I want you to study these students, or more specifically learn their weaknesses - we shall use them just in case... and I want you to pay extra attention to this one," she pointed to a file, "This one, is by far the most dangerous, so please, Soarin, don't disappoint me." Soarin looked back at the file, which seemed to have a rather interesting rainbow image. "...You're our only hope..." > Chapter 2:Welcome to Canterlot High! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From An Enemy To A Friend... By:By Soarindash959 Ch 2:Welcome to Canterlot High! "Got any eights?” Twilight asked. Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and her were all in the school library waiting for Sunset to start a meeting, but she was running late, so the girls decided to play a game of cards while waiting. "Nope, go fish." said Rainbow Dash. “Urgh!" Twilight grumbled as she pulled out a card. "Where the hay is Sunset?! We've been playing this game for over an hour now!” Applejack complained. "I don't know, but it doesn't matter if she does show up. The bell's gonna ring any minute now!” Twilight said. "I' still want to know why she stood us up "Applejack said, settling down a bit. "She has been doing this a lot lately…" Rarity said as she pulled out a card from the pile. "Yeah, she's been late for almost all of our meetings, sometimes she doesn't even show up! Got any fives Dashie?” Pinkie explained to her friends. "Forget meetings, she's been late for a bazillion classes! I lost count of how many times she was sent to Principal Celestia. I think she even broke my record! Go fish. "Dash said, not looking up from her cards. "I'm not sure why but I think it has something to do with her trying to find a job." Twilight suggested. The doors to the library suddenly opened as Sunset Shimmer ran towards her friends. “I..am... so sorry...that...I'm late….again..."She panted, stopping at each word to catch her breath, "Has the bell rang yet?" Fluttershy shook her head, "No, not yet." Sunset sighed in relief. "Thank goodness! I was looking for a job, and it lasted longer then I thought." "Meanwhile, we were all here waiting for you for over an hour, getting destroyed by Rainbow at cards!” Applejack said raising her voice at Sunset a bit. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, It's just that I found this perfect place and…well….I got carried away…" "Did you get the job?” Twilight asked curiously. "Unfortunately, no.." she sighed, "I'm sorry for making all of you wait for me for over an hour...wait...if it's been an hour, how come the bell hasn't rang yet?” she asked them. "Don't you remember? We have a school meeting with Cloudsdale High for our little competition now, so classes are canceled for the rest of the week, only the competitors are going to stay.” Rainbow explained. "Oh, yeah! That's why everyone is gone! I thought that they all just went to class and I was just late again.” Sunset told them. "I am so excited for this!!! I love meeting new people, even if they are our enemy!” Pinkie exclaimed as she started bouncing everywhere. "Pinkie, they are not our enemy! They are simply our fellow competitors.” Rainbow corrected her. “Meh, same thing.” Pinkie shrugged. “Actually, it's no-“ Twilight began explaining to Pinkie but was cut off as the school bell rang. "And saved by the bell!” Rainbow said getting on her feet and headed towards the doors. "Come on y’all! Let's see who we’re up against!” Applejack shouted in excitement as everyone headed towards the gym. "Aright everyone! We’re here!” Principal Shade said as the bus parked in front of Canterlot High. The doors of the bus opened and the students all started to get out and get some fresh air after the long ride. But some were not paying that much attention. "What do you think Soarin?” Fleetfoot asked her brother, but she received no response. "Soarin?” She turned around to face him only to find him with his headphones on and playing something on his phone. She rolled her eyes and quickly pushed his headphones back. "Hey!” he shouted at her. "Soarin, this is serious! You know very well what happened last time our school played against Canterlot!” Soaring sighed. "Yeah yeah I know, we lost. But that was a long time ago! Our team wasn't there when the schools competed, but now that we are, we will defeat them! I know it!” He said confidently. "I hope you're right,” Fleetfoot said. "Alright students, you all have 10 minutes to look around before meeting me and the Canterlot High students at the gym, which is at the center of the school.” Principal Shade said to the students before heading towards the Principal's office to met her old friend. “Well, I might as well make the most of it.” Soarin said walking in the school. "So what do you think? Will these guys be a challenge or a piece of cake?” Applejack asked the others as they all headed to the gym. "I don't know, I was never really interested in other schools’ academics.” Sunset said. "Well I do, and I can assure you that Cloudsdale High is no piece of cake! I used to go there in preschool, and boy are they good! Especially at sports! Every one of them is as good as me, if not better!” said Rainbow Dash. "Well I guess we'll have to bring everything we've got! But come on now Rainbow! They can't be that good!” Applejack said, assuring Rainbow. “Trust me, they are.” Rainbow sighed. She suddenly stopped walking. "Oh! I forgot my backpack!” Rainbow shrieked. "Be right back!” She said taking off back to the library. Soarin was now in the school and so far he liked what he saw. The school looked pretty decent with nice decorations, nice design, and by the looks of it, the students looked pretty friendly too. Usually when he and the rest of his team went to compete against other schools, the students would gave them dirty looks. But these students were different, maybe it was just because they didn't know who he was. Maybe...but he knew one thing for sure, he needs to focus! And this time more than ever! Principal Shade was counting on him, and he wasn't going to let his school down. Now all he needed to do was find those girls Principal Shade showed him. "Ugh!" he growled as someone bumped into him, knocking them both down. "Uh, I am so sorry!” A female voice said as she began to get up, Soarin doing the same. "It was my fault I-“ he stopped at the sight before him. That's it. He simply couldn't focus anymore. The sight was just..too much! Dash didn't feel any different either! They just stood there, staring at each other. Soarin couldn't stop looking at those beautiful magenta eyes, her sweet face, her sparkling rainbow hair -wait a minute. Rainbow hair? It was her! The girl whom Principal Shade had said was Canterlot's best student! She’s the one he was supposed to keep a close eye on. She already looked amazing in the photo but...to see her in person was definitely something else! She was gorgeous… "Wait! What am I thinking? She's supposed to be my biggest enemy during my stay at this school!" Soarin thought. Of course Soarin would never laugh at his fellow competitors and be a jerk to them, but he was not supposed to be crushing on them! "Come on dude, focus!" he thought. "Uh, hehe, sorry about that. Are you alright?” He asked her, breaking the awkward silence between them. "Yeah...I-I'm fine thanks.” She replied, breaking the eye contact as well. "Hey… how come I haven't seen you around here before? Are you new or something?” She questioned. "Actually I'm here for the competition. I'm from Cloudsdale High.” Dash took a step back. "You're from Cloudsdale High?! Wow you guys came here fast! Where are the others?” She asked. "Oh they're just having a look around before the meeting, speaking of which ... I was told it was going to be held at the gym but ... just in case, would you mind showing me the way, please?” He asked her. "Sure thing! Let me just get my backpack at the library and I'll show you the way! I'm going there myself anyway.” She said, taking off. “Great!" Soarin replied. He didn't really need any help. He was more then capable of finding the gym himself, but in order to get more information about her, he needed to take every chance he could get to be with her, and besides...when he met her eyes..he felt a little spark. He felt somewhat of a connection with her at that moment. For some reason, he felt that she belonged with him. It just feel so right. He couldn't describe it, but right now, he needed to be with her and find out more about her, and that's what he'll do. After a few minutes, Soarin and Dash appeared at the gym and everyone was already there. “Well, here we are!” Dash said to him. “Nice!” He commented. "Thanks again…” He faced her with a stunning smile on his face. She slightly blushed, "Like I said, it was nothing." she said, meeting his eyes just like before. They really were breathtaking and looked just like emeralds. "Attention students!" their eyes widened as wandered away from each other and towards Principal Celestia, who had appeared on the stage. "I welcome you all to our school, and I assure you that we will have the best time together!” She greeted them happily with a warm smile. “Haha, how very delightful! But I am afraid that we aren't here to have fun but to win" Principal Shade said, glaring at Principal Celestia. "Ah yes, I believe that you take these friendly competitions very seriously, but the students should still have a good time. I for one will make sure of it.” Principal Shade rolled her eyes as Celestia continued "The games begin in two days, and those will be..." she glanced at the clip board she was holding and began reading. The students all leaned forward, excited to know what the activities will be. "Science, Spelling bee, Baking, Art and Math!” She announced. "In the mean time, I suggest you all spend your time here wisely, good luck everyone!" > Chapter 3:Day One-A New Friend! > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From An Enemy To A Friend... By: Soarindash959 Chapter 3:Day One-A New Friend! The next day came, which meant that they had one more day left to train before the first round of the games would begin. Some students spent their time wisely and studied, others... not so much. The Cloudsdale High students spent the entire time studying together in some interesting ways. They were all running up and down the stairs in the soccer field as Spitfire followed them and asked them questions. On every wrong answer, they got hit by a water balloon. "What is the slope of the exterior angle of a haptagon? Soarin,go!" Soarin thought for a second before quickly answering "51 degrees." Spitfire nodded. "Correct. Next question: factor x2-2x-24. Fleetfoot, go!" Fleetfoot started sweating. "It's um...uhh..(x-4)(x-6)?" Spitfire shook her head. "Wrong," she said, throwing a water balloon at her. "Anyone else know?" Only Soarin rose his hand "Yes Soarin?" Soarin smiled. "(x+4)(x-6)" Spitfire checked her clipboard of questions to see if the answer was correct "Right! Alright smarty-pants, let's see if you can answer this one! What is 6x2+17x+12?" He thought for barely a second before smirking. "(2x+3)(3x+4)" Spitfire rose her eyebrow. "Huh, correct...wow you are on a roll! Let's see if you can keep it up without getting wet! What is the line that passes through the two points (3,4) and (1,-10)?" Soarin scratched his chin. "Y = 7x - 17" Spitfire smirked."Right. Ha, you are good! Okay, let's switch things up a bit. Triangle ABC is similar to DEF. The length of EF is 7 inches, while the length of BC is 5 inches. If the length of AB is 16 inches, what is the length of DE?" she asked. "22.4 inches" He answered immediately. "Okay, one more. What is the volume of a sphere that has a diameter of 5 meters?" She asked the final question. "Uhh..D. 20.8π meters^3!" Spitfire smiled. "Correct! Wow, you keep this up and we'll win for sure! As for the rest of you, be half as good as Soarin here and we'll have this round in the bag!" Fleetfoot groaned. "Yeah sure, whatever, can we just please take a break at math and try something else? It's just so complicated!" Spitfire sighed. "Fine, we'll do science instead." Fleetfoot gasped. "What?!That's even worse" "Well too bad! Okay first question, Fleetfoot this one is for you: Which kind of waves are used to make and receive cellphone calls?" Fleetfoot scratched her head. "I..umm......I don't know..." Spitfire sighed and threw another water balloon at her. "Fire Streak?" "Radio waves," he answered. "Correct. Ya know Fleet, I'm beginning to worry about you. You really need to pick up a book! Anyway...Soarin, the loudness of a sound is determined by what property of a sound wave?" He chuckled. "Easy, amplitude." Spitfire nodded. "Correct. Wave Chill, which technological development came first? Is it -A telescope, B,telegraph, C, telephone or D, teletype?" He took a deep breath. "Um...B, telegraph." Spitfire shook her head. "Wrong, it's telescope," she said throwing a water balloon at him. "Next question. When was the first plastic made of artificial materials patented? Blaze, go!" "I have no idea." Spitfire rolled her eyes, throwing her fifth water balloon at her "Of course you don't. Soarin?" "1909," he answered. "Correct. Next question: Lightning, moths are a member of what order?"She asked. "Octagon?"He guessed. "Wrong. Misty Fly?" She smiled."Lepidoptera," she answered. "Correct. Okay last question before break. Soarin this one is for you: For what is the Jurassic period named?" Soarin thought about it, and this time it was longer than his usual thinking. "I think it's a mountain range." Spitfire nodded. "Correct. Okay, everyone take five," she said to them putting the board down. Meanwhile, most of the Canterlot students were practicing on the field. "According to new scientific knowledge, scientists thought that aside from solid, liquid and gas, there is a 4th state of matter. What is it?" asked Twilight. She was sitting on the grass near the goal asking questions from a science book as Rainbow was scoring goals from different angles while answering the science questions, giving Applejack, who was the goalkeeper, one too many bruises. "Umm....Plasma?" she said. "Huh,correct!" Twilight said impressed. "Okay, next question: If copper burns in flame, what will be the color of the flame?" Dash kicked the ball in the net, scoring yet another awesome goal "Red violet I think." "No, it's Blue Green," Twilight said. "How do we get the density of a gold bar?" "Mass timed by Volume...?"Dash answered unsurely, kicking the ball. "Nope, it's Mass divided by Volume.Tell me a kind of mixture that uses Tyndall Effect. Is it -A, Suspension, B, Colloid ore, C, Solution?" "I'm gonna go with B," she said scoring again and leaving Applejack on the grass gasping for air. "Right! Okay so that's 2/4. Not too shabby for this page. Now the next one--" "Augh actually Twi, I'm all tuckered out. Can we come back in a few hours with Rainbow, and in the mean time focus on Rarity as she is making a dress on me something?" Applejack asked Twilight chuckled. "Sure." Applejack sighed. "Why are we doing quizzes and doing sports at the same time?" she asked. "Because, as I said before, Cloudsdale High students are the best athletes there are, so we can never be too early to start practicing, and I intend to focus more when playing" said Rainbow picking up the ball. "I'm gonna go wash up." She said heading to the girl changing room. "Finally," said Soarin as he put a towel over his neck. He was in the boys changing room, along with the rest of the Cloudsdale boys were there too. They were all washing up after the long practice for the first round of the games, and now that they finally got a chance to relax and take a break, they were not going to let it go to waste. "Hey, we're all going to Sonic Boom,we hear that place is the best hangout spot in town! You coming Soarin?" Wave Chill asked him. "No thanks, I have something to do." "Well okay, but if you change your mind you know where to find us," Wave said as he and the rest of the boys all left. "Now's my chance to make a move" he thought. He planned to use his break to become closer with Rainbow Dash and her friends. The games were way too close for fooling around, so he had to act fast. With that he left only to be greeted with the best sight he could imagine. There before him was Rainbow Dash coming out of the girl dressing room at the same time. "Just my luck," he thought. "Hey," he said to her. She turned around, and as soon as she saw him she smiled. "Hey! What are you doing here?" "Well as far as I heard the field is open for training for both teams," he said, earning a chuckle from her. "Yeah, I was wondering where all the noise was coming from, and by noise I mean screaming." Soarin laughed. "That was my sister screaming after getting hit with an ice cold water balloon." Dash raised an eyebrow. "Don't ask," he said rolling his eyes. "So what are you doing here?" "Same as you, studying. At least I think that's what you were doing..." she answered, ending with a small chuckle. "Yeah we were, we were doing it in a weird way sure but yeah we still were studying." Dash laughed. "Yeah, I' not that different either." "Oh? How so?"Soarin asked curiously. "I was answering some science questions while trying to score a goal, and might I add that I didn't miss a single shot and it came to the point where the goal keeper had to put on football protection to stay alive." "Oh so you play soccer then?"he asked. "More like own it! Probably not as good as you though," she said. "Probably not, but you can be if you do it right," he answered. "What do you mean?" she asked him. "Well, it doesn't take just hard work and training. You can do that all you want to no avail whatsoever. The fact that you don't know this already means you need a new coach," he stated. "Oh really? Who?" Soarin thought for a second. "Someone like...like...me!" "You?" "Yes me! I could totally help you out," he said with excitement in his voice. "And at the same time compete?" He nodded. "What about your friends? I don't think they'd like this so much." "Hey they ain't the boss of me. And besides...who said they need to know?" Dash rose an eyebrow. "You're not going to tell them?"she asked him. "No,and trust me, it won't change anything! So do we have a deal?" he asked. Dash chuckled. "Deal." They immediately started training, and they were at it for a good couple of hours too. And boy was it fun for them, but to others... Not so much. Principal Shade was at the library, watching them. This may have seemed like Soarin was doing what he was told and was trying to find more things out. But...that smile on his face said otherwise... And Principal Shade didn't like it, not one bit. "I have to go. See ya Soar," Dash said picking up her back pack. "Alright, bye," he said as she headed out. Soarin sighed in a dreamy way. "Quite the eye candy isn't she? "Yeah I-wait what?" He turned around, and immediately shrieked in surprise. Principle Shade met his sight. "Principle Shade! W-what are you doing here?" he asked a little shakely. "Oh, I just came by to see how our little plan was coming along," she said. "Uh, yeah, everything's going swimmingly," he said. "Good...," Principle Shade said, slowly starting to walk away, "...just as long as you're doing it for our team..." > Chapter 4: In... > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- From An Enemy To A Friend... By: Soarindash959 Chapter 3:In... The next day came by fast. It was time for the games to begin. As time passed, questions were asked other than Science and Math. Unfortunately, the answers to those questions were only yet to be discovered , and that only made Sunset Shimmer look more into it, but with no avail...so she decided to ask a certain Alicorn Princess for help. "So why are you so interested in this anyway?"Twilight asked Sunset. Both of them were walking in Ponyville while discussing the situation. "Because when I heard that our school had competed against Cloudsdale High before, I looked more into it and found out we won! And other then that we had absolutely nothing in any book or the school computers!” Sunset Shimmer explained. "And?” Twilight asked. " And, it makes no sense considering that if this is true, it would be everywhere in the school record. But it's not! There is simply nothing about it! And when I asked Principal Celestia, she gave me a weird answer. The only thing that was related to the question was that it was extraordinary and that she was surprised that Principal Shade was still their Principal! Why? I don't know! And it really bugs me!" Sunset groaned in anger. "This is definitely a hard case to crack. My suggestion is to calm down and slowly start working on it. If possible, only spend a little amount of time on this and focus on more important things." Twilight suggested. They entered the castle and went straight to the library, where the portal to the other world was. "I have to say Sunset, what you're going through right now is something similar to what happened in a book I've recently read." Twilight smiled as she began lifting a few books from the shelf, looking for the one she was referring to. "It's a mystery book, one of the Shadow Spade series, and the plot’s very similar to your situation. Maybe it can help? Ah! Here it is!" She said levitating a book off the shelf and towards Sunset. "So you're suggesting I read how she cracks her case, and go by her actions to solve mine?" Sunset raised her eyebrows. "Yes. Now, I'm not sure how much it would help, but it's better than nothing!" Sunset eyed the book, picked it up with her magic, and put it in her backpack. "I'll give it a shot, but I have to go now. The games start soon and I have to be there. Bye Twilight!" she said picking up her bag and gave her royal friend a hug before going through the portal. Back at Canterlot High the Rainbooms, except Sunset, were practicing a new song that Rainbow Dash had recently been working on. "That was great! But we can still do better, let's try it one more time from the top!" Rainbow exclaimed. The rest of the girls all groaned. "Seriously? Rainbow! We have played this song 20 times already!" Applejack grunted in frustration. "It doesn't matter how many times we have to play it as long as we get it right in the end!" Rainbow said. "I don't know what you're talking about darling, because I think we sounded great!" Rarity complimented. "Yeah, well, great isn't good enough! There is always room for improvement! We need to practice one more time!" Rainbow pleaded. "We can't play this song again even if we wanted to, because it's almost time for the games to begin!" Applejack said as she glanced at her phone to see what time it was. "Ugh, fine! You guys go ahead. I'll catch up in a couple of minutes, I just have to change a few things in this song…" Rainbow said, picking up her guitar. Applejack sighed. "Fine, but just don't take too long okay?" "Yeah yeah. Don't worry, I won’t." Rainbow rolled her eyes as she flipped through the pages of her song book. Applejack and the rest all turned towards the door and left while Rainbow began playing her part in the song with her guitar. Down the hallway, Soarin was walking towards the gum - where the games were held, but stopped as he heard guitar music coming from a door in front of him. He slightly pushed the door open so he could take a peek at what was going on. He didn't expect to see Rainbow being the one playing the guitar, but he didn't expect her to grow a pair of pony ears, a tail and a pair of wings even less! "R-rainbow?!” Rainbow Dash stopped playing the guitar and looked towards the door, where Soarin was standing with a petrified expression. “Uh oh..." Rainbow and Soarin were walking down the hallway while Rainbow was explaining everything about magic in the school and how it works. "Twilight had done some research on the magic we have back when she was in Crystal Prep. She built this necklace-thingy that can detect magic and can take it away from its owner. Once the magic is fully stolen, the magic can be set free if she opens the locket. The magic does unpredictable things, and so far those unpredictable things brought serious damage. It's not really safe to be around.” Rainbow said as she stopped In front of a door and reached her hand in her pocket, pulling out a key and started unlocking the door. “If it's so dangerous, why are we going in here?" Soarin asked. "Because it doesn't have any magic in there now, so even if you touch it, nothing will happen. If I touch it, on the other hand, it will cause a problem. Luckily..." She opened the door. "...It's, how should I say this? Magic proofed." She said as both of them studied the necklace, protected by what seemed like a barrier of some sort. Soarin attempted to walk towards it but stopped in his tracks when Rainbow's hand sprung in front of him. “Not so fast!" she glared at him. "You didn't think it was that easy did you?" She turned to face the wall, pulled a piece out and pressed a button hidden in the walls. Right after she pushed it, beams of red light appeared all around the room and pulled back towards small holes in the wall that Soarin had not noticed until now. "There is an alarm system too, just in case." she said, walking towards the necklace with Soarin following shortly after. "Wow!" he said as he took a closer look at it. "I know, and to think, Twilight made this by herself...huh, can't believe she made a magic detecting device yet can't kick a soccer ball, seriously she is TERRIBLE!” Rainbow complained playfully. Soarin chuckled slightly. “ So, how exactly does it take the magic from you?" he asked. "Well I...I don't really know. Like I said, it detects the magic and when made contact with it, the necklace takes it and immediately starts acting in an unpredictable way, " she said. "Interesting…" He took a closer look at the necklace from outside the barrier. "Can I touch the beeri-OUCH!" he screamed as he got slightly electrocuted when he touched the barrier. "Huh, didn't know about that." she said, rubbing her chin. "Twilight must have added it later on..” "Ugh...are there any other surprises?" he groaned, trying to get back on his feet. "Not that I know of, although... I do remember Pinkie saying something about adding some finishing touches to the security system…" She said, walking towards Soarin to help him up. But as she came a few steps forward, she stepped on what seemed like a red button which caused a strange noise to start coming from the floor. "UH-OH…" Rainbow’s eyes widened. At that moment, she was launched by a springing piece from the floor and hit Soarin, knocking him down and hitting the barrier. The necklace fell down, too. Unluckily, the necklace landed on Rainbow Dash and activated, sucking her magic in and formed a huge bubble surrounding her as she screamed. Soarin rose his head up, feasting his eyes on Rainbow Dash as his pupils shrunk on the sight before him. "What the…" The bubble rose and Rainbow's scream grew louder and louder when all of a sudden, it popped revealing what seemed like Rainbow, only...different. It looked like the magic had transformed her. Soarin was so confused, tears were running down Rainbow's cheeks as she struggled to loosen from the magic's grip. “Ugh! NO!!!!” she screamed as a white glow surrounded her and blew up a seconds after, casing a huge explosion. The explosion echoed through the halls of Canterlot High, managing to completely destroy the classrooms near and crack some of the walls as well. Through this process, Soarin's eyes were shut, he had closed them when he saw the white glow forming around Rainbow, and after hearing the noise that came after it ,he didn't expect to be alive...but he was. Out of curiosity of how he managed to survive, Soarin slowly opened his eyes and saw a blue light surrounding him in a form of a bubble. He spotted one just like it surrounding Rainbow, who seemed unconscious, lying on the floor just a few feet away from him. Soarin tried to get up and see how she was, but failed to do that, so he fell back to the ground. His right hand was injured due to the fall. It hurt, a lot. So did his head. The whole room seemed to spin around and Soarin felt like he needed to close his eyes and rest before it became even worse, but he needed to get up and call for help. He couldn't tell if Dash was just unconscious or dead. Luckily, he heard footsteps coming. He sighed and closed his eyes, now he could fall unconscious as well, knowing that they both would be rescued.
