First Day of School - How will it go?

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep! The alarm went off at 6:45am on a typical Monday. A kid named Rapid Shadow got up. His flame orange hair, which contrasted with his midnight blue skin, was already out of place, like it normally was when he got out of bed. Rapid Shadow got out of his bed and reluctantly went to shower. It took him 15 minutes to get in and out of it. His parents called him from downstairs.

“Rapid Shadow get down here you’re going to be late for school!” Cinnamon Shadow called.

“I’m coming! Give me a second will you?” Rapid responded.

“Son You do not talk to your mother like that you get down here right now!” His father yelled.

As soon as he heard his father, Rapid hurried and got dressed. He hastily brushed his teeth, and quickly got dressed, despite how he didn’t like the crystal prep uniform that he was forced to put on after all of it he raced downstairs.

“That’s more like it. You should know not to backtalk your mother like that... Here, you’re going to need money to get something to eat at Crystal Prep be sure you behave yourself at school otherwise you’ll wish you behaved.”

“Alright, Dad. I’ll see you both later I gotta run if I want to make it to school in time! Bye!” Rapid Shadow said quickly, rushing out the door.

“Always in a rush... I swear that kid is going to end up hurting himself one of these days...” Cinnamon, his mother, sighed.

“Don’t worry. He’ll be fine. I can only hope he caught the bus since it leaves his bus stop at 7:05. If not, then he’s going to have to walk to school” Mythic said.

No! No! No! No! I am NOT going to miss the bus! If I do that’ll make me look bad on the first day! Rapid thought as he ran to the bus stop. As if the world hated him, the bus left right as he reached the bus stop. “WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME?” he yelled. “Fine. I’ll walk to school. I can only hope that’ll I’ll make it in time.” As he walked, he realized that he had no idea where he was going. He decided that he was going to go up to someone and ask for directions. As soon as he realized where he was, he saw that he was in front of Canterlot High, the other school he could’ve transferred to. As he was looking at it, wondering where to go now, something pink appeared in front of him.

“HI!!!” As soon as Rapid was looking at Canterlot High, he was looking at a pink-haired girl with a huge smile on her face.

“Aaah! Where the heck did you come from, and who are you!?!” Rapid said, surprised by her.

“I am Pinkie Pie! I came from behind the statue over there. I saw you staring, and looking confused. So I decided to say Hi!” She looked at Rapid from head to toe, and her face turned confused. “Why are you wearing a Crystal Prep uniform?”

“I’m go to Crystal Prep. I missed the bus and trying to find the school.”

“Pinkie? who are you talking to?” A voice said. Pinkie turned to see a cyan kid.

“Oh! Hey, Swifty! I’m talking to this kid who was staring at the school!” Pinkie’s eyes filled with curiosity. “Hey. What’s your name?” she asked to Rapid.

“My name? My name’s Rapid. Rapid Shadow.”

Swifty looked at Rapid, and spoke. “Well, it’s very nice to meet you Rapid.” He looked down at the ground and then muttered, “Even if you go to Crystal Prep.”

“Wait... Do you have a problem with me? Because I’m going to Crystal Prep? Just because you whisper doesn’t mean I can’t hear you.”

Swifty looked up at Rapid. “Sorry. It’s just that Crystal Prep is the rival of Canterlot High. We’re going to face them in the Friendship Games in a few weeks.” Swift explained.

“HELLO! WHO IS THIS YOU’RE TALKING TO?” A voice yelled near them. Rapid yelled and jumped back, freezing up. Rapid turned around to find a grey boy with long black hair standing behind.

“Treble, why did you have to scare him like that?” Swiftly spoke.

“Are you saying I can’t be loud?” Treble spoke, looking annoyed. “WHAT’S WRONG WITH BEING LOUD!?”

“Um, can you stop please doing that?” Rapid requested.

“WHAT? I CAN’T HEAR YOU!” Treble screamed in a reply.

“Treble, that’s quite enough! I can’t believe you’ve scared our friend here. Quite enough,” an elegant voice said. Rapid turned to see a girl with white skin and purple hair standing there. “My apologies. Treble here can be quite loud,” she said smiling.

Rapid thought, Okay, seriously. I’ve been here for 5 minutes and already I’ve acquainted with 3 people… by standing in the same place. How odd.

“No it’s fine.” He said, politely. “Whenever comes up behind me or screams, I get startled very easily. I have a tendency to scream and jump,” Rapid explained.

“Well, I’m quite sorry for Treble’s rudeness. An unpleasant introduction to say the least. Speaking of which, my name’s Rarity. What’s yours, if I may kindly ask?”

“My name’s Rapid Shadow.” Rapid, having been caught up in all the introductions, remembered that he was heading to school. “I’m sorry, but I’ve gotta go. I’ll be late for school.” He began to walk off, waving. “I’ll see you guys later!” Bye Rarity, Swift, Pinkie and Treble! See you all later!” Rapid then ran off toward what he believed was Crystal Prep. As he reached the building, he realized, yet again, that he had no idea where to go. He turned around and ran back to Canterlot High and asked “Sorry guys but could i ask you guys something?”

Swift and Pinkie, who started to walk into the building, turned around. Swift replied, “Sure, Rapid. What do you need?”

“What’s the quickest way to Crystal Prep from here?” After asking, someone came up behind him and asked him, quietly, "Um…” She stopped for a moment. “Why do you need directions to Crystal Prep?"

Rapid turned around, seeing a girl with yellow skin and long pink hair. She was rubbing her arm, and her head was tilted downwards. Her eyes were looking up towards Rapid. Assuming that she had asked the question, he answered with, "I go to Crystal Prep because I transferred from Manehattan to Crystal Prep. Apparently, they wouldn't allow me to transfer to Canterlot High. I missed the bus, and I’m now trying to find the way to Crystal Prep.”

"Oh okay," she spoke, softly.

Rapid was curious, and asked, "What's your name? If you don’t mind me asking."

She tilted her head up. "My names Fluttershy."

"Fluttershy. That's a nice name."

"Hey Flutters? Who this your talking to?" A voice with a Southern accent.

The voice came from a girl wearing a Stetson hat that was behind Pinkie.

"Oh, Hi! Applejack, this is Rapid. He was just asking Swift for directions to Crystal Prep! They apparently didn't give him directions," Fluttershy responded.

"Well, hi, there Rapid! Any friend of Swift and Flutters is a friend of mine," Applejack said. Applejack stuck out her hand.

Rapid smiled and shook it. "Nice to meet you as well, Applejack." Rapid smiled as in his head he thought, I met like 6 people within ten minutes. This is happening so quickly.

Rapid asked what was the quickest route to Crystal Prep. Swift gave him directions, and Rapid, not wanting to be late for school, waved and thanked Swift as he ran off. Rapid dashed to school and arrived at Crystal Prep. He looked at his phone. It was 7:35. He breathed a sigh of relief, glad he wasn’t late. As he began to walk into the building, a voice from behind Rapid startled him. He turned around to see a blue girl with orange glasses and white ponytails.

She spoke quickly, “Why are you running to school instead of taking the bus? You know what? I don’t care. You’re the new student Rapid Shadow, right?”

Rapid replied, “Yeah, I am. Why?”

The girl adjusted her glasses and said, “Principal Cinch is looking for you. I’ll let her know you’re here.”

Rapid, happy with this girl’s kindness, responded, “Thanks. What’s your name by the way, so I can thank you properly.”

“Sugarcoat. It’s Sugarcoat. You better get use to it because you’ll be hearing my name a lot. The friendship games are coming up, after all.”

“Friendship Games?” Rapid never heard of it in his entire life. “What are those? Nevermind. I’ll find out later. Anyway, thanks.”

Rapid took off towards the school, leaving Sugarcoat standing there. She just let out a sigh, shook her head, and walked into the school. Rapid got to the front of the school and just looked at it. He never realized that it was so big and was impressed by it. As he was staring in awe, a voice came up behind him freezing him. Okay, thought Rapid, this is getting repetitive. He turned around, revealing a woman with blue skin and purple curly hair, who had red glasses and was wearing a elegant blue dress. A girl with pink skin and purple, yellow, and pink hair stood beside her, her arms crossed.

The women with the purple curly hair looked down at him, “Are you Rapid Shadow?”

“Yes.”

She looked at him with an unimpressed look. “Good. I’m Principal Cinch. Sugarcoat told me you would be coming. So, I assume you know your schedule for the day?”

“Yes, I do. Although, I might need help finding my classes. I didn’t know the school was this big.” Rapid glanced at the school, and back at Principal Cinch. “I might get lost wandering around on my own.”

“Dean Cadence will show you around, as she does with new students.”

The girl, who was silent up to this point, uncrossed her arms and walked over to Rapid. “Rapid, come with me. I’ll see that you’re situated in your classes and that you know where they are.”

Rapid followed Dean Cadence and Principal Cinch inside the school. As soon as he went in, Principal Cinch called Sugarcoat over. “Sugarcoat,” she spoke. Sugarcoat, who was talking with a crowd, looked over at Principal Cinch. She turned around and walked over Principal Cinch. “I’ll need you to watch over him to see if he’s worthy of staying at Crystal Prep.” She looked over at Rapid. Sugarcoat looked at him as well, and nodded her head. Cinch continued, “He was allowed in because of his grades and his athletic ability. It should get us an edge in the Friendship Games.”

Sugarcoat nodded and sent a text to all of her friends. Cinch wants us to show another newbie around and see how he does. How does the shadowbolt initiation sound?

A friend of hers, Lemon Zest responded. Let’s do it! See how this kid compares to Quill!

Another person, Sunny Flare, answered. I hope he’s ready for it. He better be unlike Quill.

Indigo Zap responded. Awesome, man! It’s so fun messing with the new kids! I’m up for it and we get to do it 2 weeks in a row?! Awesome!

At last, Sour Sweet answered. Eh, I could care less, but if Cinch want’s us to I’ll do it. It’s rare for us to do it 2 weeks in a row.

Sugarcoat looked up from her phone at Rapid and smiled. She said, ”Rapid, you better be prepared!”

Rapid smiled back. “I am. I can only guess of what they’re going to be.”

Chapter 2:Life at Crystal Prep Begins.

After the tour from Dean Cadence, she asks Rapid if he has any questions and he responds with “No, I don’t.” and then walks off to Gym class. After Rapid put on his uniform he meets the Crystal Prep Coach. He had yellow skin, green eyes and orange hair. He wears a Crystal Prep sports jacket, a cap and sunglasses. He sees Rapid coming to him. “Ah, you must be the new student. Rapid Shadow. Am I correct?” He asked.

“Yes I am.” He simply said and they both shook hands.

“Pleasure to meet you Rapid. Principal Cinch told about you. She told me you have an amazing athletic ability.”

Rapid just nods at him in agreement.

“Well then, let’s put you up to the test. But before we begin, introduce yourself to your fellow students.”

“Uh...” Was all Rapid could say. He didn’t like it when he had to introduce himself to others. He’s always so shy that they sometimes can’t hear what he’s saying because of his shyness.

The coach blew his whistle to get everyone’s attention. “Alright class before we begin we have a new student joining our class.”

The coach took a step backwards to let Rapid introduce himself to his fellow students.

“Oh….um...hello, my name...is Rapid Shadow….it’s nice to meet you” Rapid said meekly and quietly, but just loud enough for the group to hear him, all except for one…

“WHAT? SPEAK UP!” A girl with large headphones said loudly

“Take off your headphones and you might hear.” Sugarcoat said

They returned to the changing rooms, where Rapid changes back into his normal clothes. He walks through the halls of Crystal Hall, trying to avoid eye contact with the people who crowded into the hallways. He walked through the door into 2nd Hour. He took in his surroundings.

Rows of desks sat in the front of the class, accompanied with chairs. Some students were already into the class, either sitting and waiting for class to start or talking with one another. In the back, lab tables sat with equipment and stools.

Rapid sat down and within a few minutes, class had begun.

The teacher walked to the front of the class and spoke. “Good morning, students! Today, we are doing an experiment in the lab area. There are instructions waiting for you at the tables.”

Rapid looked over the experiments and, unsure, grabbed the chemicals that the instructions described. He read the instructions quickly.

Rapid looked back towards the chemicals and mixed them nervously. The mixture in the beaker exploded and flew out, falling upon Rapid. Rapid instinctively closed his eyes as the mixture covered him. He wiped the liquid from his eyes, and opened them. The class was glaring at him, laughing and pointing. His teacher stared on and shook his head. Rapid didn’t know what to do, so he looked down at the beaker, now nearly empty. He blushed from embarrassment and grabbed the instructions to see what went wrong.

Fix the chemicals.

He slapped himself. This experiment was about making the components of the chemicals separated. What help would’ve come from mixing it?

Rapid slapped himself mentally. “C’mon Rapid! you’re better than this. Let’s see if we can turn things around,” he thought. Rapid shakingly reached for some of the chemicals and was about start mixing them once more, that is until someone tapped him on the shoulder, nearly making him jump out of his seat. “Aah! Why’d you scare me like that?” Rapid said clinging to his chair with his hands and he turned around to see a girl with gamboge eyes, dark cornflower hair with moderate cerulean and moderate arctic blue streaks running through her hair, and light amberish grey skin, wearing lightning bolt earrings, light orange goggles on her head and was wearing dark blue lightning bolt boots, standing behind him with a look of concern and amusement.

“Uh, you ok over here? I just saw you nearly blow yourself up.” The girl said trying to hold back her laughter.

“I-I’m fine you just scared me that’s all” Rapid said as he averted direct eye contact “mhmm, anyway the names indigo zap, but you can just call me Indigo.” Indigo said with a slight arrogant tone

“W-What’d i do to you?” Rapid asked hearing the tone of arrogance in Indigo’s voice.

“Well aside from stuttering like a typewriter and nearly blowing yourself up, nothing, and come to think of it, i haven’t met you, have I?” Indigo said with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face.

“No i don’t believe we’ve met.” Rapid said as indigo then gestured for him to keep talking

“well….?” Indigo said twirling her hand in the air

“O-Oh sorry my name’s Rapid Shadow” Rapid said apologetically.

“Well Rapid, stick with me and my friends and you just might survive here at crystal prep.” Indigo said slapping him on the back. Rapid has to catch himself before he almost falls on the floor. “Try and keep your butt on the seat and not the floor while you’re at it.” Indigo called back to rapid. Rapid just looked confused and went back to looking at the instructions for the experiment. The class continued as usual without incident, much to relief of rapid.

Rapid continued to his next class, the dreaded math period. He walked into the class and took a random seat towards the back of the classroom, trying not to draw attention to himself. Soon enough the teacher came in and starting rambling on about quadratic equations and other things as rapid slowly but surely started to doze off the last thing him hearing was “If I throw a triangle out a window and the car is moving 20 KM/H and wind resistance is a thing that exists, how many cupcakes can pedro buy with human soul….?” The teacher ‘said’ as Rapid fell asleep at his desk as class continued without him

1 hour later….

Rapid was currently face down at his desk as class just ended and he was drooling all over his sleeve. When the bell rang the girl next to Rapid took her ruler and hit Rapid in the back of his head. Rapid opens his eyes to see a girl with light blue-grey skin, moderate cerise eyes, mulberry hair with raspberry streaks.

“What did you that for?” Rapid asked while rubbing the back of his head.

“Sorry dearie but sleeping isn’t allowed in class.” She teased and left the room.

Rapid got up with a start and noticed that he had drooled all over his sleeve and muttered “I fell asleep… in math class. Great I missed an entire class because i fell asleep!” Rapid said as he looked at his schedule and saw that he had lunch next “well at least i have lunch, just hope they have decent food here.” Rapid said getting his stuff together and making his way out of the classroom.

Rapid walked down the hallway and eventually made his way to the cafeteria. He walked in and was greeted with the loud sound of everyone talking all at once. He got in line and got his food and walked out. He stood off to the side scoping out the area, looking for a place to sit as he then spotted an empty table on the opposite side of the room. He made his way through the crowd and sat down at the table by himself. As he started eating, a student saw this and donned an evil grin as she made her way over to him.

“Well well well, what do we have here? An empty lonely table for an empty lonely loser…” the girl said as she walked up behind Rapid. Rapid tried to ignore the taunt being thrown at him. This only caused the girl to try harder, “Hey, I’m talking to you, moron! Do you have drool in your ears too!?” The girl continued.

“P-Please just go away…” Rapid asked but the request fell on deaf ears as the girl continued her pestering.

“Hmm, let me think... No! I like it over here better. Because you’re quiet so it makes it so much more easy to insult you without you retaliating.” The girl said as she raised her hand to go and slap him only to have it grabbed from behind.

“Knock it off, Suri! Get out of here before I shove your knitting needles in a very...bad...place….” The person said.

“Fine, but this isn’t over, Sunny…” Suri said as she pried her arm from Sunny Flare’s grip and stormed off.

“Are you okay?” Sunny asked Rapid.

Rapid responds with, “I-I’m fine, I’m used to it anyway…” Rapid said.

“Seriously? You don’t stand up for yourself? Don’t tell me you’re that naive,” Sunny said as she crossed her arms.

“I got teased at my old school anyway… I’ve learned to ignore it. Plus, I’ve gotten used to it It doesn’t really bother me,” Rapid said as he turned away and picked at his lunch.

“Well that just won’t do, why don’t you come join me and my friends until you make some more of your own,” Sunny offered as Rapid responded with, “S-Sure, that sounds fine, that is, if you don’t mind me being there…” Rapid said sheepishly.

“Don’t be ridiculous, come on, follow me,” Sunny said as Rapid got up from the table, lunch in hand. The two of them eventually made their way over to a table with 4 other girls sitting there. They then sat down and before Sunny had a chance to introduce him to them, Indigo recognized him.

“Hey, it’s Time Bomb!” Indigo said with a big smirk as Rapid blushed and slammed his head into the table.

Rapid looks up to see everyone looking at him and then sees violet eyes staring at him through orange glasses and asks “Why are you looking at me like that?” Rapid asked as the person he was looking at responded “you just tried to break the table with your face, why wouldn’t we be staring at you like you’re an idiot.” Sugarcoat asked Rapid responded with “I did it because indigo called me Time bomb. What did I do to earn that nickname?” Rapid asked

“You nearly blew yourself up in science class.” Indigo said with a sly grin as Sour Sweet spoke up “what brings this little guy over to our table, not that i really give flying feather…” Sour Sweet said.

“He was sitting by himself at that table over there, then Suri at some point walked over and started giving him crap about random stuff. So i stepped in and invited him to eat with us until he makes some more friends.” Sunny explained as everyone nodded in agreement.

“S-so what do you guys talk about over here?” Rapid asked.

“Well we mostly talk about whatever comes to mind, most girl stuff like clothes, gossip, boys, etc. and then there’s other special interest topics...” Sugarcoat said

“Okay” Rapid responded.

“You don’t talk much do you? You should work on that if you plan on surviving here.” Sugacoat said

“Why?” Rapid asked

“Because kids like you are easy prey for people like Suri and Ledger.” Indigo said taking a bite of her burger

“Wh-Who’s Ledger?” Rapid asked nervously

“He’s this stuck up a**hole, that thinks he can have any girl he sets his eyes on, plus he’s a serious douche to anybody that gets in the way of what he wants.” Lemon said

“Wow. Sounds like a lot of kids in Manehattan…” Rapid said

“So enough about us, tell us about yourself. Even though i’m sure it’s boring” Sour Sweet said

“Well… i’m from Manehattan, i’m sure you know that because i just told you. I like to listen to Music, Draw, Play video games, hang out with friends and talk with my cousin every once in awhile.” Rapid said

“Oh you like music! Here try this!” Lemon said putting her headphones on Rapid’s head

“Ow! why is your music up so loud?” Rapid said

“All the better to FEEL the music!” Lemon said

“Sorry Lemon don’t think i like your kind of music” Rapid said while removing the headphones and giving them back to Lemon.

“So you play any sports?” Indigo asked

“I did use to play soccer with my cousin a few years ago.” Rapid said

“ok let me put it this way, how did you get into crystal prep? It doesn’t seem your academics got you in.” Indigo said slightly more blunt

“Because I screwed up one thing, you say it wasn’t my academics that got me in?” Rapid responded

“Well... yeah, Cinch only lets in the best and the brightest, and we’ve seen you in class. And do you mean you screwed up?” Indigo continued

“Have you even seen my grades from Manehattan? I was one of their best students!” Rapid said defensively

“Well then explain the falling asleep in math, blowing up in chemistry, and” indigo said

“And what? That was only 2 classes” Rapid said back

“still, it just doesn’t add up, but whatever, lunch is almost over anyway.” Indigo said leaving and taking her tray up

“Alright… I’ll just leave it was nice meeting you all…” rapid said

“where are you going?” Sugarcoat asked

“ I’m going to my next class, why?” Rapid asked “because we still have a few minutes before we have to leave, unless you’re one of those kid that like to get to class before the teacher. ” Sugarcoat said “I prefer to get there early so i’m not late to class” Rapid said as he got up and left.

Time skip: the next period....

Rapid was walking down the hall as he looked at his schedule and saw his next class was english “oh… English great….” Rapid said as he made his way down the hall to the class on his schedule. He walked in and immediately saw he wasn’t alone.

Sitting in the front row was a girl “H-Hi why are you sitting in here all alone?” Rapid asked.

“huh-oh, uh hi, i-um didn’t want to be late. Go ahead make fun of me for being a nerd or whatever…” the girl said putting her head down

“Oh I won’t do that i’m not that mean spirited, I admire that dedication to education. it’s fine you don’t have to be ashamed of yourself, what’s your name?” Rapid asked

“Coco, Coco pommel, what’s yours?” Coco asked

“My name? My name’s Rapid Shadow” Rapid said “oh that’s a nice name, wait weren’t you that kid sitting alone at lunch earlier?” Coco asked

“Y-yes that was me why do you ask?” Rapid asked

“Because I saw my former boss, Suri, bullying you….by the way i’m sorry about her” Coco said

“It’s fine Coco i’m over it don’t worry about it” rapid said. Soon enough the other students started to make their way into the class and the class went by without much excitement

“Hey Coco you… uh want to trade phone numbers so we can talk?” Rapid asked

“uh, sure rapid, that’d be great.” Coco said with a slight blush as Rapid was blushing a bit as well

“Well… I’ll see you later alright?” Rapid asked “Y-yeah, see you later.” Coco said with a smile. Rapid leaves the classroom happy that he made a new friend.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

The alarm went off at 6:45am on a typical Monday. A kid named Light Spark got up. His blond hair blended in with his yellow skin, and his hair his eyes were a piercing blue and he had dark rings under his eyes from lack of sleep. Light Spark got out of his bed and reluctantly went to shower. It took him 15 minutes to get in and out of it. His parents called him from downstairs as he exited the bathroom.

“Light Spark, get down here! You’re going to be late for school!” Light’s mother called. “I’ll be right down, mother. Just wait a second,” Light responded.

Light calmly got dressed finished brushing his teeth and then walked to his kitchen where his parents were.

“Good morning, Mother, Father” Light greeted his parents.

“Good morning, Light. You sleep well?” Light’s mother asks.

“Yes, I slept fine, mother. I’ll just be on my way to school. I’ll eat something later,” Light spoke as he walked out the door, closing it behind him.

“That kid needs to open up to people otherwise he’ll never have any friends to talk to or people to get along with” Light’s father mutters. Light’s mother turns her head and frowns.

“He’ll be fine,”Light’s mother assured. “He’ll open up eventually. Just give him time.”

As Light walked down the street to go to the bus stop as soon as Light arrives at the bus stop he notices it just going down the street as he saw it drive down the street he thought I missed the bus…. Could this day start any worse than this? Should I even ask this? As Light ponders this a car flies by and hits Light with water from a puddle near him. I shouldn’t have said that now the day will be even worse. Light let’s out a sigh and then continues walking to school.

Light continues to walk down the street and wonders to himself This town has had it’s fair share of weird and crazy things happen from demons attacking a school to random creatures that could control you with their voice. Why do they target this town?

As he turns a corner, Scootaloo ends up crashing into him while she was on her scooter.

“Gosh darnit, Scootaloo! I told you NOT to speed down the sidewalk!” a southern feminine voice called.

“Can it, Applebloom!” Scootaloo retorted. “It would have worked if this guy didn’t stand in my way! Besides, we know we can use this as a weapon, right?”

“You ok there, mister?” Sweetie Belle was trying to help Light up, speaking in her normally high-pitched voice.

“I’m fine. It simply was an accident. I’ll be on my way. Tell your friend to be more careful,” Light gets up and starts walking away.

“Wait!” Scootaloo stopped him. “I’m sorry about… you know, hitting you with my scooter. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”

“I told your friend to tell you it was fine. It was simply an accident. Now, please leave me alone. I do not want to be late for my first day,” Light tries once again to walk by them.

“She was only tryin’ to apologize! Applejack says forgive and forget,” Applebloom replied, clearly annoyed.

“I get that, miss. I said it was fine. I don’t need your friends advice. I’ve seen things you’d never want to witness. Now, leave me alone, and you,” he says, pointing at Scootaloo, “try to be more careful, alright?”

“Smooth!” Scootaloo mutters under her breath and goes back to her friends.

Sweetie Belle began to argue. “To be fair, we did warn you to not go so fast!”

“I know you did, but did I know someone would be there? It’s not my fault, Miss Know-it-all!” Scootaloo argued back.

“That’s why you always check first!” Sweetie Belle stated in response.

“Yeah! Remember that time you knocked over mah apple cart!? We lost 3 days profit on that, and ah was doin’ so so well sell them apples!” Applebloom remarked.

“Would you all be quiet? Look, it was an accident. Nothing more. She apologized to me. There is no need for an argument to start. You’re all going to sound like idiots arguing about something irrelevant to this. Just stop.” Light said. After saying this, he walked off and headed toward Crystal Prep.

As Light arrives at the gates of Crystal Prep, he stands looking at the school. He hears an engine roar to life from behind him. He turns to see two students. The motorcycle was a dark black, almost as dark as the void of someone’s soul while the sounds of a horse could be heard as the first student was a male with a navy blue and dark green hoodie with dark blue to black jeans with black and purple sneakers, with a dark black helmet. The second was a female that was wearing a Crystal Prep uniform and with light ambrish grey skin, and was wearing a dark leather jacket with multiple band logo patches all over the arms and back. She wore a dark yellow helmet with cat ears and had light blue japanese writing on the sides of the helmet near the visor.

As the student with blue hair gets off the motorcycle she walks past Light and into the school.

On his right, Light sees a boy who is a few years older than himself. The boy has white hair, blue skin and has yellow eyes. He also wears a Crystal Prep uniform along with black fingerless gloves and a black, stetson hat.

The boy spotted Light at the gate and decides to walk up to him. “Hello there.” The boy greeted Light. “Are you new here?”

Light turns to see where the voice came from. “Yes. I’m new here I just transferred here due…. to concerns. Might I ask why you approached me?”

“Well, I saw you just standing there at the gate. I thought you were a little shy to go in alone so I decided to meet you so that wouldn’t be so alone on your first day.” The boy explained.

“Ah, makes sense. I’m not shy. I was just looking at the school. Thank you for greeting me. If I could ask what’s your name?

“Name’s Lone Wolf.” The boy pointed to himself. “I also got transferred here almost a month ago.”

“Lone Wolf... nice name. My name’s Light Spark.” Light introduced himself.

Before Lone could say anything Light felt something rustling around in his backpack as something, or someone, rather popped out of the backpack spraying school supplies everywhere.

“HI!!!” the person screamed in Light’s ear as he turned around and found himself face to face with a pink-haired girl with a huge smile on her face.

Light didn’t look surprised but was aggravated.“How did you get there!? Actually, never mind,” Light then starts to pick up his school supplies calmly, trying to avoid the new student’s ecstatic stare.

“I’m Pinkie Pie!” The girl remarked excitedly. “I came from a portal in your backpack connected to a portal I have in my bedroom. I went through expecting to land in front of my school, canterlot high, but I found myself in your backpack and popped out and saw you. So I decided to say hi!” Light blankly stared at Pinkie. She looked at Light from head to toe, and her face turned confused. “Why are you wearing a Crystal Prep uniform?”

“I go to Crystal Prep…..hello? Look around.”

The weird pink haired girl that came out of Light’s backpack turns and leaves and then turns around and yells, “Bye Sparkie!”

Light sighs and says “Sparkie? Seriously?? I’ve watched some anime but that nickname compares nothing to what I’ve heard…” Light, reminding himself of his current situation, proceeded to run into the Crystal Prep building.

After walking in, he headed straight for the gym. The gym teacher called out to the other students for them to gather around. “Hello, students! In class, we have a new student with us.” The gym teacher looks towards him. “Would you introduce yourself, please?”

“Fine…” Light Spark muttered, rolling his eyes. “Name’s Light Spark. I honestly don’t care what you think of me. We can try to be friends. I doubt it will work out. Also, if you do try to talk to me don’t be offended if I don’t respond. It just means I have no interest in what you’re saying.”

A girl with blue hair raised her hand.

“Yes, Indigo?” The gym teacher spoke.

lndigo lowered her hand. “So, basically, you’re a loner?” she bluntly asked.

Light paused for a second before responding. “Yes, what’s it to you?”

“Nothing. Just making sure.”

After the question, the Gym teacher announced that they would play dodgeball. After the teams were chosen, the coach blew the whistle and all hell broke loose in the gym. As the whistle was blown a student standing next to Light was knocked over.

“Seriously, another injured student? Someone get them on the bench. I’m… going to sit here, watch, and also eat popcorn.” As soon as the Teacher finished the sentence, a dodgeball came flying out of nowhere and hit the popcorn out of his hands. “NO! MY POPCORN! WHOEVER DID THAT WILL PAY!” The teacher yelled, shaking his fist in the air bitterly.

On the other side of the dodgeball court, a girl with light green hair took off her headphones and looked around confused, and asked, “Did anyone say anything?” As she asks this, a dodgeball flew by and hit her hand causing her to drop her headphones. She stared at her headphones, and began to scream. “You… You Shall regret doing THAT!” During her battle cry, another ball comes flying and hits her in the face causing her to rear backwards and fall to the ground.

Light watches as his teammates get taken out one by one while he just stands there never getting targeted once. Once he was the last standing, he just looks over and sees about 6 students with dodgeballs in hand. He muttered, “Wow, pick on the new kid… how low are they?” As he mutters this a ball hits him in the face. He gets up and said, “Well… That went as expected.”

“Alright, Game set match! The game is over. Also… someone please go get the nurse. We have about 4 injuries that need tended to.” While the teacher ran off to get the nurse, the bell rang signaling the end of class. All the students exited the class and headed off to their 2nd hour.

“Yay… Science… one of the most boring subjects… still it’s not as boring as math. Although,I think I’ll pull through,” Light remarks sarcastically as he took his seat. As the rest of the class comes in the teacher arrives and takes attendance.

“Lone Wolf?” The teacher said.

“Present,” Lone Wolf said, raising his hand in the air.

“Heavenly Quill?” The teacher asked after looking at the attendance sheet.

“Here..” Quill softly says, raising his hand just enough to be visible.

“Sunset Shimmer?” The teacher asked.

“Present!” Sunset Shimmer raised her hand signaling she was there.

“Coco Pommel?”

“Here..” Coco said, barely audible.

“Neon Lights?” The teacher said, receiving no response. “Has anyone seen him?” The teacher questioned.

The girl Light recognized as Indigo said, “He’s in the nurse’s office he got nailed in the face with a dodgeball in gym class.”

“Ok….” The teacher went on taking attendance and then the class went on. The teacher was teaching them about something in space. Light didn’t care to listen because he found it extremely boring. After the boring lecture, Light was researching supernovas when a pencil hit him in the back of the head. Light thought, Really? Flinging pencils?? How immature can they get? After the pencil hit him, a girl with light blue hair came up to him, apologizing.

“I’m so sorry! Someone took my pencil and flung it at you when I wasn’t paying attention. Are you alright?”

“Yeah… I’m fine. Here’s your pencil back” Light reached down below his seat and picked up the pencil, handing it back to the girl.

She grabbed the pencil and spoke, “Once again I’m really sorry for this. My name is Coco Pommel. What’s yours?”

“Light Spark. Now I should get back to researching all this stuff, even if it’s pointless.” Light said.

“Well.. I’ll see you later then?” Coco responded, turning and walking back to her seat. Light turned back to his computer, continuing his research.

“Next time we go to Math, the worst class in all of history, and I go to Lunch. The rest of this day looks like it’s going to be one strange ride.”

Chapter 2 Interesting Math and Introductions in Lunch

Just as Light was walking into math, another person was coming out, unaware of Light’s presence, and the two collided in the doorway. Light looked up to see a kid with green skin and green eyes in front of him.

“O-Oh no, I’m so sorry! I wasn’t looking where I was going. Are you alright?” The kid asks.

“Yeah, I’m alright. Just watch where you’re going, okay? Now, could you please move? I’d prefer not to be late for class,” Light responds.

“Alright. Well once again, I am sorry that I ran into you,” the kid then walks off to his next class.

After the brief exchange, Light walked into his math class and sat down, just waiting for the class to start. As the rest of the students walked in and sat down, Light was able to recognize a few of the students. He noticed Lone Wolf come into the classroom. After Lone was the girl who had asked if he was a loner, or Indigo Zap, if he was to call her by her real name. She took her seat and after that he didn’t recognize any other students that entered.

“Alright. We will now begin the lesson. While we do have a new student, we must continue on with the lesson. I hope you don’t mind.” The other students instantaneously looked over at Light, possibly expecting him to complain about not being able to introduce himself. He, instead, was focused on the lesson that the teacher is lecturing about, ignoring everyone’s glares.

“How long does this teacher expect to lecture us on a bunch of stuff that we already know. I mean, come on, we know all this ridiculous geometry and algebra stuff.” Light hears a student mutters, aggravated.

“Well, maybe if you a little more attentive, you wouldn’t be so bored. I actually find this ‘quite fun compared to what you consider ‘fun’. Which usually involves being a stereotypical rebellious teenager.”

“And that is how you use the Quadratic Formula. Miss Zap, could you please tell us how you would use that formula properly?”

Indigo was surprised, not expecting the teacher to call on her.“Uh… sorry, Teacher. While I was paying attention, someone was distracting me and I couldn’t focus on the lesson.”

“Well, do you mind telling me who was distracting you? Then, maybe we can prevent future distractions in the classroom.”

Indigo looked around her and saw everybody glaring at her, with looks on their faces just daring her to choose one of them to blame when it was her own fault of not paying attention. She did notice one student who was still writing notes slowly. Light watched as Indigo pointed at the kid right next to her and say, “He’s the one who was distracting me from taking notes.”

“W-Wha?” The kid said, shocked and confused. “I never even spoke to you at all during this hour. How can you blame me for this?” The kid respond, annoyed by the accusation.

“Miss Indigo? Are you trying to blame Shadow for this incident? Because it looks to me that you were not paying attention at all.”

“U-uh... Okay, I admit, I wasn’t paying attention. But, quick question-why do we need to learn this stuff again. Don’t we know it already?”

“If you look up on the board, you would realize that this stuff is different than what we we’re reading before. Next time, I think it would be a good idea if you paid attention.”

The rest of the class started to snicker at Indigo, as she blushed, embarrassed, from her failed attempt to cover up how she wasn’t paying attention. As the rest of the class started to laugh, Light just sighed and said, “If you need the notes Zap, I could help you with them. But next time, try to pay attention in class.

Indigo and Light stayed after class a little while, allowing Indigo to finish catching up on notes, and they both walked out of the classroom, heading down the hallway to Lunch. As they walked down to lunch together, Light looked around observed the hallway around them, noticing that there was not many students lingering in the hall. They noticed the lunchroom was already crowded as they walked in. They were the only students in the lunch line at the time since they arrived so late, and everybody was staring at them and whispering to one another

“Hey, there’s Indigo. Why is she late?” “And who’s that kid she’s with?” “I don’t know. I’ve never seen the kid. I think he’s the new student.” “He’s the new student? You think Indigo likes him?” “Could be. She did walk in here with him.” As the two grabbed their lunches, Light walked around, observing the lunchroom until he found an empty table to sit down and eat his lunch at. Indigo separated from him and walked over to her normal table with all her friends.

“So… Indigo, why were you late from math class? Were you trying to get to know the new kid? Do you have a crush on him?” A pink girl with green and yellow hair asked, eagerly awaiting Indigo’s response.

“What?” Indigo responded, shocked. “That wasn’t it! Why would I like him? I just…. got caught in math class for not taking notes and he let me copy his and explained to me the formulas I didn’t understand. That’s all stop trying to create rumors Zest.”

“Yeah, she got caught for not taking notes and disrupting the class and then she tried to blame Shadow for distracting her from taking notes.” A girl with bluish skin and orange glasses and two ponytails said bluntly.

“Wow! Talk about a fail! You seriously tried to blame Shadow?! Seriously Zap? One of the quietest kids in this school for talking to you?” A girl with yellow skin and cranberry hair with a turquoise highlight said.

“Shut up, both of you! I had no other choice. You seriously expect me to blame the new kid? He’s not that different. Couldn’t blame Lone or Quill. The teacher knows they don’t talk much in class.” Indigo Zap said, glancing over at Light. She noticed that none of the outgoing kids that would get to know new students had gone over to him. “Well, that’s strange. I thought that Lone or Quill would go up to him and ask them to join them. Oh wait… ” She watched as Lone approached Light’s table. “Never mind. There goes Lone to talk to him right now.”

“Hi, Light. Why are you sitting here all by yourself? Didn’t you make any friends on your first day so far?” Lone asked, watching Light.

“Well, as you can also see…” Light spoke, waving his hands over the empty seats, emphasizing them.”I’m not the best at making friends, and not many people approached me and asked, ‘Hey! Do you want to be friends?’ ”

“Okay…” Lone replied, in thought for a second before responding. “Do you want to come over and sit with me and my friends? I could introduce you to them, if you want me to.”

“Alright, Lone. I’m not sure if this’ll work, but lead the way,” Light responds, getting up from his spot. Lone and Light start walk towards another table, filled with Lone’s friends. Light recognized one of them as the one who ran into him earlier today. Light looked at him and asked, “Didn’t you run into me and knock me over when I was walking into math?

“Yeah, t-that was me. I’m sorry about that” The green haired kid says. “By the way, I’m Heavenly Quill. I never actually got your name.”

“Heavenly Quill...I might’ve heard that name before.” Light says, trying to remember when he had heard Heavenly’s name. “Yeah, I think I have in gym class. You were either the 2nd or 3rd one out in dodgeball.”

“The kid over there with peach colored skin and dark blue eyes and multicolored hair is Dark Steele. Like you, he’s a new student here. He’s also got a sister here-Lilac Steele, I think. She’s over there talking to some of the girls. She’s the one with Peach skin and purple and black striped hair with Lilac purple eyes as well.”

“Okay well it was nice to meet you all, but isn’t time to go?” Light pointed towards the clock, which read 11:30

“Yeah. We should probably get going. We don’t want to be late. Who knows what the teachers will do if we are.” Quill replied.

“Right… Whatever. Let’s get going,” Dark mumbled. “I’ll go get my sister.” Dark walked over and tapped his sister on the shoulder and said, “It’s time for class. Come on.”

“Alright, fine. I’m coming can’t you just lighten up. You’re not going to make many friends that way,” Lilac said. Dark walked back over to the group with his sister and motioned for them to follow him to their next class. As they walked to English class, Light was introduced to Lilac by Dark, albeit a bit reluctantly.

“Maybe, I’ll see one of you guys later see you guys later,” Light says, walking into his English class. All of his friends gave him a small wave goodbye, except for Dark, who refused to do it, despite Lilac slugging him in the back of the head. When Light saw Lilac slug Dark, he silently snickered a bit as he walked into English hoping that it wouldn’t be as boring as Math was.
