> A Halloween to Remember > by Lethally Insane > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > A Halloween to Rember > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The student body of Canterlot High School was in a feverish state of excitement. Today was Halloween, and the school was taking advantage of it’s facilities. The Halloween Masquerade was buzzing around the school’s hallways, and the minds of its students. Even the school’s faculty had gotten in on the hype. All around the school students were looking at the fliers taped around the school. There was going to be a costume contest, the top pick would even get a prize, a one hundred dollar gift card to Sugarcube Corner. “What do you think we should go as?” Rainbow Dash asked, “ It’ll have to be something awesome, like the wonderbolts, or vikings, or superheros!” “You sure do seem excited about this Rainbow?” Sunset Shimmer piped up after reading the poster, “ Why do they need a prize, back in Equestria, everyone kinda just dressed up.” “Sunset,” Rainbow deadpanned, “we’re teenagers, the only way you could get us to do anything with enthusiasm is to wave money in our face. Besides, considering we go to Sugarcube corner on a weekly basis, we could use the money.” “Good point.” Sunset nodded, “ Think they’d take a group entry?” “I don’t see why not.” Rainbow replied, “ Also, we have Twilight this time. There’s no way we can lose!” “Rainbow!” Sunset exclaimed, then in a hushed tone said, “ We can’t use magic to cheat. That’s not right, and we don’t even know if the spell Twilight used to keep her magic will work. She could lose control if she over exerts herself.” “Well you seem to know a lot about it.” Rainbow huffed. “That’s because I tried it.” Sunset sighed, “ When I first came here, I put a spell on myself to keep some of my magic. But by the time I had gotten to the top of the school’s food chain, I had used it all.” “So?” Rainbow asked. “My point is,” Sunset answered, “if we use to much, there could be a sort of whiplash.” “Fine, let’s just go tell the others.” Rainbow replied. “So you mean to tell me I have to go?” Leviticus muttered to himself. ‘Yes you should go.’ The text read, ‘ You need to familiarize yourself with this generation.’ ‘Ma, we’re literally texting right now.’ he typed, “ I think that’s familiarized enough, besides I already go to school here.’ ‘Son, humans have learned so much more than you when you were actually the right mental age to got to school.’ the phone buzzed back. ‘Yeah,’ he typed back, ‘but why do I have to have fun here? I have plenty of fun. I’m going to have plenty more opportunities considering I’m immortal.’ ‘Leviticus,’ the next message said, ‘ as your mother, I am forcing you to have a good time. Have some fun honey, go meet people. Mingle as they call it nowadays. Maybe even meet a few girls.’ ‘Fine.’ he typed back, ‘just stop talking about it. Also, don’t expect me to wear one of those dopey costumes.’ ‘I’ll take what I can get. See you soon.’ was the only reply. Leviticus buried his face into his palm. ‘All I wanted to do was go home and play video games’ He looked at the CHS grounds one last time. ‘ At least I have a few hours until then.’ He walked down the street. The other students were going home now. He went to the parking lot and hopped onto his motorcycle. ‘Well, guess I do get to ride this here.’ he thought stroking the gas tank. “Why that’s a marvelous idea Sunset!” Rarity exclaimed when Sunset and Rainbow finished telling the others their plan. “But what should we be?” Twilight asked. “I don’t know.” Sunset answered. “ Rainbow wants to be something awesome that’ll stun the judges. I think something like that will work, but I just don’t know what?” “What if we were pirates?” Rainbow suggested. “How ‘bout Cowboys?” Applejack offered. “Models?” Rarity asked. “Librarians?” Twilight piped up. “Animal Control?” Fluttershy whispered. “How about CLOWNS!” Pinkie screamed. “Vampires anyone?” Twilight asked again. “Wait, Vampires could work.” Rarity replied. “What naw, they’re all mushy, and sparkly.” Rainbow said. “Oh no, I meant the classical vampire.” Twilight said, “ You know, the ones like Dracula. The more scary kinds, I’ve been reading about them in the school’s books.” “Egg head much Twilight.” Rainbow said before switching to silly european accent, “Bla bla, I vant to suck your blood.” “Well actually Dracula wasn’t entirely a myth.” Twilight said, “ The book said, that Dracula was based on Vlad Dracula, or Vlad the impaler. He was a Romanian prince who held back the Ottoman Empire. But even before him, people believed in and feared vampires.” “Woah, that’s actually pretty cool,” Rainbow said, “for ancient history at least.” “Ah think vampires is a good idea.” Applejack said. “Yeah,” Sunset said. “ vampires it is. Now all we need is the costumes.” “I have a few things around my workshop we could use.” Rarity spoke up. “I still wanted to be a clown.” Pinky said. “Oh well! Now I can be a vampire clown!” “Let’s get to work at my place girls.” Rarity said. “Yeah!” they said in unison. Leviticus pulled into the roundabout of his family home. The manor had been in his family since the French renaissance. He and his late father had dismantled it personally rebuilt it when they had traveled across the Atlantic. “Mother!” he called when he had gone inside, “ I’ve returned.” “Ah Leviticus!” his mother said ascending the grand staircase, “ I picked out just what you should wear to the dance tonight. Oh I’m so excited, I can’t believe it! My son going to his first modern shindig!” “Mother,” he said hugging her, “no one calls it that anymore. Also, I went to plenty of dances. Sure they were a few hundred years ago, but hey, King Henry could dance like no one’s business.” “Did he ever get a son?” she chuckled. “You were there for the birth, mother.” he replied, “ I was outside comforting the father to be.” “Yes, I remember now, the 1500’s flew by in the blink of an eye.” she laughed, “ now about what you were wearing?” “I don’t know,” Leviticus shrugged, “I was just going to show up wearing this.” “Where's the fun in that?” his mother huffed, “ You can dress like a vampire openly this one night and you choose not to? Where's your sense of fun.” “I am fun, mother.” he said. “ I just want to blend in better.” “Don’t you understand Leviticus?” she said, “ Halloween is the one time a year you can show your true self. Loosen up a little, c’mon it’ll make you feel better.” “Fine mother, I’ll dress up.” He groaned, “ Just don’t expect me to wear the medallion.” “But it ties the outfit together so well.” she said. “It was father’s and I don’t want to lose it at school.” “Who’s going to take it?” she asked. “I don’t know, but it was father’s and it’s valuable.” he said. “ I’m not wearing it.” “Fine.” she said, “ Go get changed honey it’s almost time for you to go.” “They’re perfect!” Pinkie said waving her arms in the air. “Well I try.” Rarity blushed, “ These are just something I threw together last minute.” “Rarity these things look great, there's no way we can lose!” Rainbow said, examining her new clothes. “You think they’ll let us in.” Fluttershy asked, “ Not to criticise, but some costumes are showing some, uh, skin.” “Fluttershy.” Sunset said from behind the curtain they were using to change, “ From what I’ve seen here, the only reason that girls dress up for Halloween at our age is to do exactly that.” “Do what?” Twilight asked from behind another curtain, “ What does ‘showing skin’ have to do with anything?” “Remember, the whole wearing clothes thing is new to her.” Sunset whispered to them. “So is it like one of those old bible movies about Adam and Eve where they have conveniently placed branches everywhere?” Applejack asked. “No, I think it’s a cultural thing.” Rainbow answered. “Still some of these costumes are pretty showy for this world’s standard.” Sunset acknowledged. “Your’s isn’t, you choose the classic vampire look.” Rarity replied. “What I liked the dress.” she replied, “ I was really referring to Rainbow’s, Twilight’s and yours. “It’s all in the sideboob.” Rainbow laughed. “Still Twilight doesn’t know.” Sunset pointed out. “She’ll figure it out.” Rarity said, “ Besides we all have capes, we’ll be fine.” “Fine, it’s not like I’m concerned for you or anything.” Sunset said, “ Let’s go I’ll drive.” ‘This is degrading.’ Leviticus thought. His mother stood fussing with all the buttons on the antique suit. All of it’s frills and buttons were in pristine condition thanks to his mother’s careful preservation of all their old clothes. He couldn’t remember wearing something this much since the early 1800’s. He stared up at their last family portrait, it was at least four hundred years ago. Back when Father was still alive. ‘Mother isn’t wrong,’ He thought examining his own outfit and physic with that of his father’s, ‘ I do look a lot like him.’ “There all set.” she said, placing the medallion around his neck. “I thought I said I wasn’t wearing it.” he said, looking back at her. “Oh would you look at the time!” she laughed, “ You have to go now if you want to make it by 6:00.” “I can see why Father married you,” he muttered, “he didn’t have much of a choice in the matter.” “Pish posh,” she dismissed him, “off with you. Have some fun.” He left the manor on his motorcycle. Patting the leather saddlebag carrying the medallion protectively. Victoria stood at the door watching her son depart. She turned back to the painting of them all. “He’s growing up Hugo,” she mused, “ it’s a shame you can’t see him now.” Leviticus pulled into the school’s parking lot. He took off the jacket he had been wearing to protect the suit. He opened the saddle bag and took out the medallion as well as a change of clothes. ‘I’ll put Father’s medallion in my locker until the end of the dance.’ he thought, ‘and get out of these clothes.’ He walked into the school and into the nearest bathroom. Changing the archaic suit for a simple t-shirt and jeans. He walked to his locker and deposited his clothes and the medallion in it. ‘Now,’ he thought, ‘guess I may as well try to have some fun.’ “I still can’t believe that worked.” Sunset said after exiting her car. “Hey when in doubt sitting on someone’s lap is the best way to go.” Rainbow said getting out of the car followed by Applejack. “Now can we please go inside?” Rarity said shivering in the cold late evening air. “ It’s a tad drafty in this costume.” “Told you.” Sunset said. Once inside the gymnasium, they walked to the sign up table for the costume contest. “Alright girls,” Vice Principal Luna said, “ the announcement for the winner is right after the pumpkin raffle.” “Thanks,” Sunset said, “and nice costume.” “Thank you miss shimmer,” she said stroking her blue toga, “ I’m a moon goddess.” Meanwhile, Leviticus was sitting in the bleachers looking out the gym’s windows. He looked at the last of the sun’s rays departing from the sky. He looked back down at the students, they all seemed to be having a good time. He stared back outside, he could see the trick or treaters roaming the streets. ‘It’s soothing in a way.’ he thought to himself. His attention was drawn back to the room by the students. They were chanting ‘go’ in unison at a girl dancing. Leviticus would have dismissed the situation as irrelevant normally, but this time it was different. The girl in question was dancing on all fours, and wearing the one of the most show garments he had ever seen. Then he realized most the the audience standing behind her was male. Then, his attention was drawn away again, this time by the medallion appearing in his hand. “Huh?” he muttered, holding it up, “ I remember this thing having powers, but this is weird even for it.” The medallion started tugging at the chain it was held around, then it pointed itself towards the crowd. It slowly made a circling motion. “What do you want?” he asked quietly, watching it move. He mentally drew a line to where it was pointing, and what he saw took his breath away. There was a girl wearing an old style victorian dress calling out to the dancing girl. He could barely make out what was being said. “Nightlight?” he asked himself, “ No, starbright? Wait, Twilight, that’s what she’s saying.” The medallion kept pulling at its chain. “Fine,” he muttered to it, “ I’ll go. Just stop it, besides, a guy talking to a piece of jewelry might freak her out.” The medallion went limp again and he slipped it on under his shirt. He started walking down the bleachers. Then suddenly a white light enveloped them from the ceiling. Five minutes earlier….. “So you mean to tell me that they’re magical?!” Sunset asked Rarity after nearly spitting out her punch. “Well in a way.” Rarity said sheepishly, “ I asked Twilight if she could summon me some fabric….. and if she could enchant the sewing machine to go faster.” “Please say this is just some prank Rainbow put you up to.” Sunset said kneading her brow. “No, it’s true.” she squeaked. “Even simple enchantments like that could be taxing on the spell!” she exclaimed, “ I have to get Twilight, she can undo the spell and restabilize the connection.” She rushed onto the dance floor, dodging costumed dancers as she made her way to Twilight. Unfortunately, where they had left her had drawn a crowd. Sunset circled it calling for Twilight, if she didn’t fix the spell, the connection could backfire. However, she simply couldn’t penetrate the crowd’s chanting. Then the room began to lighten, as a glow came from ceiling of the gym. “The connections breaking.” She muttered as the light grew, knowing it was too late to stop it, “ Oh, this is going to be a long night.” Leviticus blinked open his eyes, letting them adjust to the light. He got to his feet, other students and staff were knocked across the room as if they were asleep. He grasped for the medallion, only to find it gone. He looked down his shirt and then to where he was lying. ‘What!’ he screamed in his mind, ‘ No, I can’t lose it!’ He looked back up at the gym, the students were still on the ground. Then there was a shifting next to him, it was the girl in the dress. She got up beside him, as did six others across the gym. He looked at her in the dim light. “A-are you okay?” he asked cautiously. “I feel….. different, but yeah I think I’m okay.” she replied rubbing her temples. “ What about you?” “I-I’m good, but I think I lost something in that light.” He said, “ Man, what was that anyway? I’ve heard of flashbangs being set off as pranks before, but that sure wasn’t a flashbang or a prank.” “I- uh I don’t exactly know.” she replied, “ What’s your name anyway, I’ve seen you around school, but we’ve never talked.” “Oh, I’m Leviticus.” he said, “ Most people call me Vic for short, what’s your’s?” “I think you already heard of me.” she said forlornly, “ You know the girl who blew the front of the school up, then saved it from the Dazzlings.” “So you’re Sunset Shimmer?” he pondered, “ I thought you’d be taller. Luckily I wasn’t here for that first part, and I didn’t go to the battle of the bands.” “Hey, I’m a perfectly average height!” she said, “ Where were you instead of the fall formal?” “Wouldn’t you like to know?” he laughed, “ Anyways, let’s try and wake the others up.” “Fine.” she huffed, “ It’s not like it’s important anyway.” After five minutes of fruitless efforts to wake Principal Celestia, they moved on to the students. None of them woke up either, Leviticus only noticed Sunset’s friends waking up. “Well the good news is no one is dead.” he told them. “We know.” A rainbow haired girl said, eyein him with ghostly red eyes. “Uh hang on a minute,” he chuckled nervously, “ I- uh need to use the restroom.” He backed out of the gymnasium, sprinted down the hall, and ducked into the nearest men’s room. He backed away from the row of mirrors. ‘There’s only one way to test this.’ he grimaced, ‘ If the amulet disappeared than my vampirism might have gone with it.’ He slowly walked in front of the mirrors only to gaze into his own reflection. ‘Oh no,’ he thought frantically, ‘ Mothers going to kill me, I lost the amulet, and my vampirism in one night.’ He slowly left men’s room, with a new dread about him. Getting back into the gym, he found that it was still occupied by sleeping students and staff. Sunset stood in the center of the room, looking out the now shattered windows into the sky. “Where did your friends go?” he asked as he stopped next to her. “Away.” she said in a daze. “Huh?” he asked. “They turned into bats and left.” she said. “Wait what?!” he said snapping to look at her. “Apparently we’re all vampires.” she said. ‘This is going to be a long night’ he thought to himself. 10 minutes earlier……… “Does anyone else feel weird?” Sunset asked. “Indeed I do,” Rarity replied, “ I feel absolutely parched, but I had a glass of punch a few minutes ago.” “My head feels funny.” Fluttershy whispered. “ Like when you’re really hungry.” “Yeah I’m hungry too.” Twilight said. “Hhmm I could go for some food.” Rainbow said. Applejack nodded in agreement. “Yeah I guess I am a little hungry.” Sunset admitted, “ Anything else?” “Well, I feel…. faster like I could run a mile a minute.” Rainbow said, “ But that’s pretty normal.” “I feel the same way though.” Rarity said, “ That’s not normal for me at all.” “Maybe it’s from that light?” Applejack suggested. “What was it anyway?” Fluttershy asked turning to Sunset. “That was the connection destabilizing,” Sunset said, “it had to have warped the magic-” “Which means that if we don’t stabilize it, we the effects could be permanent!” Twilight concluded, “ We need to get back to Pinkie’s I have a potion that should be able to restabilize it.” Then from behind Sunset was a glowing, she felt chills across her back. However what was in front of her shocked her more, there friends faces contorted, baring fangs in a hiss. Then Their bodies disappeared and was replaced with swarms of bats. The bats slammed through the gym’s windows and into the night sky. “I’ll get you later,” a voice said from behind her, “ at least those five will put up a fight.” She heard the door slam. She stared up into the night. ‘We turned into vampires?’ she asked herself. “So then the glowing just stopped?” Leviticus asked. ` “Yeah, and my friends turned into bats and ra-er- flew away.” Sunset answered. “What did Twilight say about a potion to reverse all this?” He asked. “She said there was a potion to restabilize the rift.” she said. “Well let’s go get it!” Leviticus exclaimed. “What?” She asked confused, “ Why do you want to help us? This isn’t your problem. “Well,” he sighed, “ It is. What I mean to say, is that I lost something in that light, something very important to me. If there’s a chance that I can get it back, I’ll help. Besides it’s not like I have anything better to do tonight.” “Well O-okay!” she said, “ Let’s get to it!” “How do we get there?” he asked. “We can take my car.” she suggested. “Let’s go.” he nodded. Sunset pulled into the driveway of Pinkie’s house she killed the engine and got out. Leviticus followed behind her, standing with his hands in his pockets. She heard him shuddering in the cold as she checked for their spare house key. “You cold?” she asked as she asked as she checked under the doormat. “N-no, it’s not that.” he said, “ Well, m-maybe a little.” “Do you want something to cover up with?” she asked, “ I have a couple of blankets in my car.” “T-thanks.” he said, as she tossed him her keys. ‘Wait, she lives with Maud.’ she thought as she kept checking. She went into the garden and lifted up a plate sized rock. Underneath was a key. ‘Gotcha.’ She thought as she swiped up the key. She inserted the key into the lock and twisted feeling the deadbolt sliding out of place. Feeling a tap on her shoulder she turned to see Leviticus standing wrapped in a old blanket he held the car key in his other hand. “Thanks Sunset.” he said handing it to her. “Y-you’re welcome.” She stuttered. “Hang on,” he said, “ let me go first, I need to invite you in.” “Why?” she asked. “You’re a vampire.” he said matter-of-factly, “ It’s a rule.” She entered the house quietly, making her way to Pinkie's room. She eased open the door, slowly, as to not cause the hinges to squeek. Leviticus stood close by her. She breathed in again smelling something unfamiliar, but good. She sniffed again trying to find the source of the smell, she turned around to see Leviticus staring off into space still shivering. She walked up to him breathing in the scent coming off of him. He glanced at her. “Aren’t you going to open the door?” he whispered “Oh yeah, sorry, uh right.” she quickly whispered. She opened the door and went to Twilight’s bags, fishing through them, to find a small glass vial filled with a purple liquid. “That’s it?” Leviticus asked behind her. “Yeah, size isn’t everything for these kind of things.” she answered. They walked out of the house, locking the door and replacing the key underneath the rock. “The thing is, we need to get the others close to this before we use it.” Sunset said. “Hey, that gives me an idea.” Leviticus said. “What?” she asked him. “We’ll go to my house.” he smirked. “ If there’s one thing that no fledgling vampire can’t resist, it’ll be there, I’ll drive.” “If it’ll help get my friends back, then I’m for it.” she said, tossing him the keys once again. ‘Letting him drive was a big mistake.’ thought Sunset as she sat in the passenger seat. She had nothing else to concentrate on besides the extremely enticing scent radiating from him. It also didn’t help that they were in an enclosed space… alone. ‘I’m so hungry.’ she thought desperately. The scent was killing her begging to have it’s source devoured by her. She started to stare at his neck, she felt points against her tongue, she felt them more, she started grinding her legs together. She felt her muscles beginning to tense up, preparing to pounce on her prey. “We’re here.” He said, stopping the car and killing the engine. “Huh.. what?” Sunset blinked snapping out of the trance. “We’re here, at my house.” He elaborated. “Oh yeah sorry,” she laughed awkwardly, “ I must have zoned out or something.” “It’s cool let me just get the bait.” he said hopping out of the car and dashing out into the house.” “Wait bait?” Sunset called. A few minutes later, Leviticus rolled a barrel out of the doorway and into the yard. He stood it up in front of Sunset, he popped of the lid and tossed it off into the yard with gusto. “Viola! May I present out bait.” he said. “Smells so good.” Sunset muttered, licking her lips. “Now all we have to do is wait.” Leviticus chuckled, “ They’ll come to us, and then we can use the potion.” They sat their in one of the manors many bushes, waiting, the wind would carry the scent across the town, and bring the girls right to them. Leviticus had taken the liberty to grab a jacket from the manor before setting the trap, but even still he felt the shivers he looked down at his hands, they were shaking uncontrollably now. It had taken all of his effort to keep them steady when he was driving. He started thinking back on his past, he remembered back when there were other vampires that they could contact with ease. He had vague memories of older ones talking about things like this happening to vampire who had been captured. He couldn’t remember what the details were. Then, out of the darkness, the girls started emerging. Sunset walked of the bush to them, but Leviticus couldn’t he was shaking too violently to move that fast. He was slowly, and shakily standing when Sunset got to her friends. Then, he heard a small bang as a large net covered them. He tried to call out to them but he couldn’t he couldn’t concentrate enough to speak. A figure leapt down from the roof. It pulled out a object from a bag and flicked it on, revealing it to be a glowing cross. The girls shrieked and hissed, as she stepped close to them. Leviticus took a labored step forward. She would be on them in a second if he didn’t draw her attention. “Stop!” He called as he stepped closer. He tried to run but he stumbled and fell to the ground. “Oh so this is the famous Leviticus?” she chuckled. “Yeah,” he said, getting up again, “yeah that’s me.” “I can’t believe it,” she scoffed, “my entire life I was told to fear you. But now that I’m face to face with you, all I can do is laugh.” “Yeah, it’s been an off day for me.” he said putting himself between her and the girl. “But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fear me, Diana. Besides, there’s still my mother, even if you kill me.” “Leviticus,” Sunset called, “what does she mean ‘her entire life’ she sounds like she's older than you.” “You didn’t tell them?” Diana asked, “ I guess I could do it if you're too chicken.” “No don’t-” he tried to protest. “Leviticus is a vampire.” she said to them, “ One of the oldest actually, only surpassed by his mother. He was walking this earth before anyone had even heard of this continent.” “Is this true?” Sunset asked, “W-were you a vampire?” “Yeah,” he said, “ I’m older than I look, a lot older. She’s right. That’s the reason that I was a normal person, and still awake. You guys turned into vampires, I turned human. Diana’s family has been hunting mine for hundreds of years. Her great great grandfather killed my father, I drank him.” “That’s right,” she laughed, “and you know what Leviticus? It’s killing you too.” “I know,” he said, “ if I don’t become a vampire again, I’m going to die. My body can’t handle being human again after so many centuries.” “Then we’ll help you.” Sunset said, “ You were willing to help us be human again, I’ll do the same.” “Yeah,” Rainbow dash spoke up, “ besides she’s been chasing us all over town, I think it’s time for some payback.” “Here,” she said, tossing him the vial. “All you have to do is break it.” Twilight said from behind the barrel. “Thanks,” he said, he felt tears in his eyes, “ you guys are the nicest humans I’ve met.” He shakily broke the vial, slamming it against his knee. The liquid inside evaporated almost immediately, a green mist rising and turning white. The glow began appear again, Leviticus closed his eyes. ‘I hope mother doesn’t notice this.’ he thought before being immersed in the glow. Sunset opened her eyes, she was still lying under the net, in a grass stained victorian dress. The other girls were next to her all dazed, Fluttershy poked her shoulder. She was breathing quickly, and pointing to the manor. Sunset watched in awe as Leviticus stepped into the now flickering light of the glowing cross. He was different, his eyes glowing red, and his clothes being a victorian style suit. “Woah,” Rainbow whispered next to her, “ he got some bling.” She looked at his chest to see a medallion gleaming in the low light. It’s ruby set in the center giving off an eerie glow of it’s own. She saw the vampire hunter backing away. Leviticus hissed at her, revealing a maw of extremely sharp teeth. Diana sprinted down the drive, vaulted the fence and ran out of sight. “Well I’m glad that’s over.” Leviticus laughed, “Man, I wasn’t sure how long I could hold that ‘big tough scary vampire’ look. Here let me get you guys out.” He placed his hands on the rope only to pull them back in pain. “Must be laced with silver or something,” he said trying to pull with his protected feet now, “think you guys can get this off on your own?” “Uh, yeah Vic.” Sunset said, “ I think we can.” After a few minutes of struggling, the girls were free. Leviticus retrieved the lid to the barrel and rolled it inside. “Hey Vic,” Sunset said, “I just wanted to say thanks. For all the help you gave me helping to get us back to normal.” “No problem.” he said, “ You need a not so human friend, don’t hesitate to call.” “I will Vic.” she laughed, “ I will.” “Good,” he laughed, “now go home, you human folk shouldn’t be up this late past your bedtimes.” “Yeah yeah.” she said, “ take care of yourself Vic.” “You too Sunny.” he replied. “Was that a nickname?” she shot back yeah. “Maybe it was.” he said. “I’ll see you on Monday right?” she asked. “You bet.” he said. Leviticus closed the after watching them leave the gates of the manor’ grounds. He took of the amulet and placed it in it’s wooden case. He saw the calendar they kept in the hall, he ripped of the leaflet marked Oct. 31. He stuck it in one of the suit’s pockets. ‘I think this is gonna be one I remember for a long time.’ He thought wistfully, as he lay down in his coffin. The sun peaked over the horizon, as a new day began in Canterlot.
