Fluttershy And The Manticore
Fluttershy was outside in the afternoon taking care of her animals. She gave Angel his usual carrot, which he ate. Fluttershy was surprised that Angel actually ate it and didn’t ask for something else. She went to the birds in the birdhouses and gave them some bird seed, which they happily ate.
All of a sudden, Fluttershy heard a pained roar coming from the Everfree Forest. She approached the forest and thought that an animal was hurt. Forgetting her fears to save an animal, Fluttershy ran into the Everfree Forest. It was a good thing it wasn’t dark yet or the forest would be even scarier.
Fluttershy knew her way around the Everfree Forest, since she had been in there several times to get one of her animals that ran off in there. After walking around the forest for a few minutes, she spotted a red and yellow speck. As she got closer, she saw that it was a injured Manticore. Usually, Fluttershy would run from any scary animal, but she knew that the Manticore was hurt and needed help.
She approached the Manticore slowly, so it wouldn’t get scared. It looked up at her with a pained groan. She also saw that the Manticore was covered in dirt as well and had bruises all over its body. She kneeled down and comforted the Manticore, letting it know that it was going to be okay.
“Can you move?” Fluttershy asked the Manticore in a soft tone.
“Yeah, I can move.” The Manticore replied.
“Do you think you can follow me back to my cottage?” Fluttershy asked.
“Yeah.” The Manticore replied.
“Great, it’s not far from here.” Fluttershy said as she started walking back to her cottage.
The Manticore got up and started following her. After a few minutes, they reached the cottage. Fluttershy sat down on the grass and the Manticore slowly did the same. Fluttershy started to examine the Manticore’s body. She wondered what happened to this Manticore to get it in this state.
“What happened to you?” Fluttershy asked the Manticore.
“I tumbled down a cliff, I didn’t see where I was going.” The Manticore replied.
“Oh, my...” Fluttershy said.
“Yeah, I’m surprised I’m still alive.” The Manticore said.
“Well, don’t you worry, I’m going to make you all better.” Fluttershy said, assuring the Manticore.
“Thank you.” The Manticore said.
“Stay right here.” Fluttershy said.
The Manticore nodded, and Fluttershy got up. Fluttershy spread her wings and started to fly to Rainbow Dash’s house. After a ten minute flight, she got there and landed softly on the clouds that her house was on. She approached the door and knocked on it. After a couple of seconds, she heard a voice.
“Coming!” Rainbow Dash said from inside.
Rainbow Dash opened the door and saw Fluttershy standing there with a worried look on her face. She wondered what was troubling her friend. Even though Rainbow Dash was quite an aggressive mare, she still helped her friends if something was troubling them.
“Is something the matter, Fluttershy?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yes, there’s this injured Manticore I found in the Everfree Forest. It apparently tumbled down a cliff when it didn’t see where it was going. I’m not really an expert on clouds and it’s all bruised and dirty, so can you help me clean him?” Fluttershy asked, hoping Rainbow Dash would help.
“Wow, that sounds serious Fluttershy. Of course I’ll help you.” Rainbow Dash said.
“Thank you so much, Rainbow Dash.” Fluttershy said.
“No problem, now let’s go clean that Manticore.” Rainbow Dash said.
Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash took off in flight and started to fly towards Fluttershy’s cottage. They got there after a while of flying, and the first thing Rainbow Dash noticed was the Manticore. Wow, that looks really painful, Rainbow Dash thought. They landed on the grass and went over to the Manticore that was laying down.
“Rainbow Dash, can you get a cloud for me, please?” Fluttershy asked.
Rainbow Dash nodded and flew up into the sky. She grabbed a cloud and put it above the Manticore. She started bouncing on it and rain started to fall onto the Manticore. The Manticore groaned a bit, as the water touched its bruises. Rainbow Dash stopped bouncing when the Manticore was wet enough.
Fluttershy went inside her house and grabbed two sponges and body wash. She went back outside to the Manticore and Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy gave a sponge to Rainbow Dash, which she took. Fluttershy squeezed the body wash onto the Manticore. Then, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash started scrubbing the Manticore with the sponges. After they got everywhere on the Manticore, they decided to rinse the Manticore with water.
Rainbow Dash flew up to the cloud again and started bouncing on it. The rain began to fall onto the Manticore. After a while, the Manticore was all rinsed and had no dirt on it. Rainbow Dash kicked the cloud away and flew down to the ground.
“Thank you for your help, Rainbow Dash.” Fluttershy said.
“No problem, that’s what friends are for.” Rainbow Dash said.
Rainbow Dash spread her wings and started to fly home. Fluttershy picked up the two sponges and the body wash. She went inside her house and put them back in their respective places. She started to search for her medical kit. She found it in her drawer in her room. Fluttershy went back outside and kneeled down next to the Manticore.
“This might sting a bit.” Fluttershy said.
She opened her medical kit and picked up the rubbing alcohol. She poured a bit onto a cotton ball and started rubbing it on the Manticore’s cuts. The Manticore roared in pain as the rubbing alcohol touched its cuts. The Manticore growled at Fluttershy.
“Yes, I know it hurts. The pain is the cuts healing. If I don’t heal your cuts, then you’re going to get an infection.” Fluttershy said.
“Sorry for growling at you.” The Manticore said.
“Apology accepted.” Fluttershy said.
Fluttershy picked up some gauze and started to wrap it around the Manticore’s bruises.
“Your bruises will heal on their own time.” Fluttershy said.
“Okay.” The Manticore said.
After Fluttershy was finished wrapping the gauze around the Manticore’s bruises, she put the gauze and the rubbing alcohol away. She closed the medical kit and grabbed the cotton ball. She went inside her house and put the medical kit back. She threw the cotton ball in the trash can and went back outside.
She saw the Manticore standing on its paws. The Manticore looked way better than before. The Manticore had its bruises covered and was less dirty. The cuts looked like they were starting to heal. From the smile on the Manticore’s face, Fluttershy could tell that the Manticore seemed more happier than before.
She heard a growl and noticed the Manticore’s stomach was growling. “Do you want something to eat?” Fluttershy asked.
“No, thanks though. I’ll get some food later in the forest.” The Manticore replied.
“Okay.” Fluttershy said.
The Manticore walked over to Fluttershy and picked her up. The Manticore licked her mane, showing its gratitude. Fluttershy giggled at this and just waited until he stopped. The Manticore stopped and let Fluttershy down.
“Thank you for helping me.” The Manticore said.
“You’re welcome.” Fluttershy said.
The Manticore turned around and ran back into the forest. It would be internally grate to this mare that didn’t leave him there. It would’ve died right there on the spot if she didn’t come and find him. It would never forget this mare or the mare with the rainbow-colored mane, which helped clean him too. Fluttershy would never forget this Manticore either, it was the second Manticore she had helped.
Authors Note: So, this was basically a story I thought of in my mind and I wanted to share it with you guys. I know it’s kinda short, but I hope you guys somewhat enjoyed it. By the way, the reason why I made the Manticore talk was because so you guys could understand what it was saying to Fluttershy and didn’t have to wonder what it was saying.
