> Spirits: Sunny's Displacement > by Enderdragonslayer1 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Welcome to Equestria (Rewrite) > --------------------------------------------------------------------------         As I was waiting for Twilight to get to the castle, I kept wondering how she'll react. The others already know a little bit of my past, but Twilight? I only knew her for less than a day before she found out. Even though the other girls know about my past (since I lived in Ponyville for a few years), Twilight didn't. I just didn't know how she'll react. I was torn out of my thoughts when a guard came into my room.         "Sunny, she's here," the guard told me.         "Ok, tell her I'm on my way now." I told the guard.         I used my magic to put on my favorite necklace, one that was given to me when I was younger. After I got it on, I left the room, heading for our planned meeting place. I approached the door as the guard was coming out.         "Leave us." I told the guard. He seemed reluctant, but he left like he was told.         "Hey, Twilight. I know you have a lot of questions, but it may be best if I started from the beginning." I told her. After a nod, I sat down, getting prepared to tell her my story.         "Ugh," I groaned as I got up, "Where am I?"         I tried to get my bearings as I looked around. The first thing I noticed were the wings, then the hooves. They both felt out of place, yet natural. I also noticed a bag on my back, however, I had no way of reaching it right now, as my legs aren't long enough. I needed to figure out the lay of the land, however, when I tried to move, I immediately  stumbled. I tried to remember how to walk, but I realized that I couldn't remember anything. Suddenly, a voice came into my head.         Walk by moving your front left hoof forward along with you back right hoof. Do the same with you front right and back left. Repeat.         I instinctively knew what to do. At first, I was still stumbling, but as I practiced, it became easier and more natural. I was starting to get confident when I heard a roar that was fairly close to my location. Something told me the sound came from a manticore. So I did the natural thing, I ran in the opposite direction. I was weaving between trees, slamming through bushes, trying anything to put some distance between me and the manticore. However, my movement were getting sluggish, it became harder to coordinate my hooves. After hitting the side of a tree, I saw the beast that was chasing me. My eyes widen when I realized that I won't live if I get caught, that gave me the energy to continue. My advantages? I was small and fast. My disadvantages? I wasn't coordinated in any way.         After ten minutes, I came into a clearing, but I didn't have time to enjoy the scenery, so I kept running. I saw what looked like buildings on top of the mountain in front of me. I started to climb. I was maybe twenty yards or so away from the entrance when I was noticed. One of what looked like guards pointed at me, only to freeze when he (she?) saw the manticore chasing me.         Almost there, I thought to myself.         About ten yards away, I tripped and fell, allowing the manticore to catch up to me. The manticore started to cause worrying wounds on my body, then proceeded to drag me away. However, it didn't even get five yards when the guards caught up, one attacking the manticore, causing it to drop me, while the other picked me up and started to rush me into the city.         "Don't worry," the male voice said softly, "You're going to be okay." I passed out shortly after entering the city.         I groaned, not knowing where I was or what happened. Then I remembered: waking up in the forest, the manticore, getting caught, getting carried to safety. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a voice.         "She's coming to," a vaguely female voice said.         When I opened my eyes, I didn't believe what I was seeing, a white pony(?) with both wings and a horn. Once again, I was pulled out of my thoughts when she spoke.         "Hello, little one, my name is Princess Celestia, what's yours?" the mare(?) asked.         "I- I don't know," I said in a scared voice, my confidence crumbling in her presence, she seemed to notice this.         "Don't worry..." she stopped as if she was thinking, "Sunny Days? I won't hurt you."         For some reason, 'Sunny Days' triggered a memory, it felt like deja vu.         "T-that n-name, it seems familiar," I managed, my confidence rising. She smiled at that.         "That's good, how much do you remember? An alicorn doesn't just hide without being known."         "Alicorn?"         "It must be worse then I realize," she muttered, "An alicorn is a pony with both wings and a horn," she explained.         Horn? What horn?         I managed to look up to see a, would you have guessed, a horn sticking out of my forehead. It was then I finally took in the situation, my eyes widen as I tried to get up, only for a lot of pain to flare up my body.         "Woah!" she exclaimed, "Take it easy, you're still severely injured. That manticore did quite a bit to you."         It was then I noticed the numerous bandages on my body. I groaned.         "This won't be fun," I muttered.         Laying back down, I tried to get comfortable, only for the situation to fully sink in. I started to cry.         Moving forward, the princess wrapped a wing around me, "There, there. Everything's going to be alright, " she spoke in a motherly tone. She sat there with me until I started to cry myself to sleep.         "Take her to a guest room for the time being." I heard her say before I fell asleep, which was followed by multiple replies.         I was awoken to the smell of food. When I opened my eyes, I gasped at what I saw. It was a lot of food. I started licking my lips while trying to get up, only for pain to flare up my body.         How long has it been? I thought.         I was shaken out of my thoughts when I heard the door open.         "Oh, you're awake," the princess said, "Though, why haven't you eaten yet?"         "I can't move, it's too painful," I replied.         She raised an eyebrow, "You can't use your mag-" she stopped herself, apparently realizing I had no idea what she was talking about, that and the fact that I don't remember anything.         "Magic? What's magic?"         "Uhh, that is a hard concept to explain, especially to somepony your age," somepony?! "Now, open you mouth so I can feed you."         I decided to play along. "Fine," I said in a huff, opening my mouth in the process.         We sat there for a good ten minutes until the plate was empty, and I was full. I started to feel really tired and let out a yawn.         "Well, you need to sleep, if you're going to grow," she said with a knowing smirk.         "Yes, Mother," I said sarcastically. She stopped at that. Realizing what I just said, I quickly recovered, "I-I, D-didn't..." I was cut off when I was embraced.         "It's okay, Sunny, it's ok..." she said in a motherly voice, "Everything is going to be just fine."         She then let me go and left the room. I just lay there, shocked, why was she acting like that? Did she think I wanted to be her daughter? Ok, maybe I wanted to be a little bit, but that's not the point. Letting another yawn out, I lay back down, trying to get some sleep. > Ponyville: Pinkie Pie(Rewrite) > --------------------------------------------------------------------------         It's been nearly ten years since I accepted Celestia's offer to become her adopted daughter. Sure, the nobles were pretty angry at first, but that ended quickly when they started harassing me, forcing my mother to step in. Even though they stopped, I still get the looks of hatred and discontent whenever I walk around the castle. But today I wasn't worried about that, as my mother had something to show me.         "Mom! Wait up!" I yelled after her, galloping to catch up. When I finally caught up, we were just entering my room. I took a look around my room, trying to figure out what she was talking about. When I finally saw the present on my bed, I started to rush forward, only to stop and look at my mom for permission. After a nod, I once again rushed forward and opened the present, pulling out a necklace.         "I-I don't know what to say. Thank you." I managed, all of my worries slowly disappearing.         "Anything for you" my mom stated with a smile. I tried to get it on with my hooves, as my magic hasn't developed fully yet, only to fail. "Here, let me," she said, engulfing the necklace in her magic, putting it around my neck and fastening it. I took a look in the mirror to see how it looked on me. It... It...         "... looks perfect," I said, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I repeated, hugging and nuzzling her at the same time. Five years before Nightmare Moon's return.         "Sunny?" my mother asked, "Are you ready to leave for Ponyville?"         It was finally time to leave the castle, and I decided to live in Ponyville, a small town not too far away from the castle, maybe ten minutes or so from the castle.         "Almost, just one more touch." I responded, casting a spell I learned in my studies. The spell made my wings to disappear, making me look like an average unicorn. "Ok, now I'm ready," I said while I left the room. We walked outside to the garden, where a carriage was waiting.         "Hope to see you soon," I said, embracing her once more before I entered the carriage. As I was riding, I took a look at what was provided to me to help me get started. around 1000 bits, some apples, a blanket and pillow, and a photo of me and my mom. I put everything up when I felt the carriage making a descent. After it landed, I got out and thanked the drivers. The moment I walked into the town, I was ambushed by a pink blur.         "Hello! Welcome to Ponyville! My name is Pinkie Pie!" she said without stopping, causing me to jump in surprise.         I quickly recovered, "Hey, Pinkie, my name is Sunny Days." I managed with a smile, "Oh, do you think you can show me to town hall?"         "Sure!" Pinkie said as she started to lead me to the town hall.         "Thanks!" I thanked after we got there. I went inside, hoping to find the mayor to get a house.         "Hello, you're new here? And I presume you want a house as well?" The mare asked.         "Actually, yes." I responded.         "Ok, that'll be 500 bits, then sign here, here, and here," I got out the bits, paid her, and signed the appropriate spots. "Ok! You're all set, here's the keys to your new house and it's located here," she pointed to a spot on the map on the wall, "I hope you have a wonderful time here!"         "Thank you!" I thanked. I turned to leave town hall and went to get some stuff to stock my new house.         It was close to nightfall when I finally got everything, spending 150 bits to get enough food and a bed. I was just about to unlock the house when I heard what sounded like voices. Thinking nothing of it, I unlocked the door and walked in, only for a lot of ponies to jump out and yell, "SURPRISE!" causing me to jump. I noticed a banner said 'Welcome to Ponyville!' I was instantly swarmed by Pinkie.         "Were you surprised, huh? Were ya?" she spoke without taking a single breath.         "Yes, Pinkie, I was," This seemed to make her smile even more, "I'll join in a minute, I have to put some stuff away."  I walked into the kitchen to put away all of the apples I bought (from somepony named Applejack) away. After everything was away, I reentered the main room.         Five hours later, everypony had to leave. Although I was pretty sad about this, I still needed to sleep myself. But before I went to sleep, my necklace glowed blue.         "Ugh," I groaned, "Pinkie knows how to throw a party." I muttered to myself as I got up. I took a look at what I had left in terms of bits, only to find about 350 bits left. After putting away my bits, I took a look at the map and started to head to Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack's place, I think, to see if I could help in any way. > Ponyville: Applejack and Rainbow Dash (Rewrite) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was just entering Sweet Apple Acres when I heard somepony call me, "Sunny?!" I heard a voice say in surprise, "What brings you here?" "I just wanted to see if I could help," I admitted. After a stunned silence, Applejack seemed to recover enough to respond. "Well, that was unexpected, though how are you goin' to help?" she asked. After a moment, I had an idea. "Like this," I told her as I started to run up to the nearest apple tree, kicking it with all of my might, only for.... two apples to fall down. Well, it was a start. Seeing what happened, Applejack trotted over with a look of surprise on her face. "Sometimes, you can be stranger that Pinkie..." she muttered. I remember that when I was buying apples from, well, Applejack, I somehow managed to say a secret that she has not told anypony before, which in its own right shouldn't be possible, but after Pinkie's antics and, what did she call it, breaking the fourth wall? I just had to deal with it. I just smirked. "What, afraid there'll be two Pinkies?" I asked with a smirk, to which Applejack had a look of fear on her face. After a few moments, I suggested that we get to work, Applejack bucking the trees while I put the buckets into position. A couple hours later, we finally gotten all of the trees. As I was helping Applejack carry the last few buckets of apples back to the barn, I decided to ask the million bit question, "Um, Applejack, do you mind if I come over more often to help out?" I got a surprised look, before she gave a smile. "Sure, ah don't mind at all. Ah could use all of the help ah could get," she replied, a reply that made me smile, until she lost her smile, "But how am ah supposed to pay ya?" she asked. "No need, I already have enough to cover me for a few more months, not including the amount of apples I bought from you yesterday," I clarified. I would've continued if I didn't hear, "Look out below!" causing me to instantly hit the deck as a cyan blur came rushing down, nearly missing my head. After the what I realized was a pegasus with a rainbow mane got up, she started to say, "Sorry, Applejack, but I wa..." she instantly stopped when her eyes landed on me. After about a second of awkward silence passed, she asked, “Umm, who are you?” “My name is Sunny Days, I just moved here from Canterlot a few days ago,” I told the rainbow maned mare, “And if I may ask, who are you? I don’t remember seeing you at Pinkie’s party.” “Name’s Rainbow Dash, Fastest Flyer in Equestria!” she boasted, puffing her chest out with pride. “Fastest Flyer, eh? I challenge you to to a race, then,” I challenged her, confident that I would win. “You’re going to lose.” “We’ll see. Tomorrow here?” I asked. “Sure.” As I started to go home to turn in for the night, my necklace glowed orange for a moment before returning to a clear color. As I was waiting for Rainbow at the starting line, I kept pacing back and forth, until she finally showed up. "Are you ready to get beaten?" I asked with a confident grin, only to get a smug grin in return. "We'll see about that." she said simply. I took a look at who was here, a yellow pegasus, Applejack, a white unicorn, Pinkie, and a few others that I don't know the name for. "See you at the finish line." "We'll see." "On your marks..." Pinkie started, "Get set... GO!" she yelled as she fired a god damn cannon! I immediately took off running. It wasn't long before I reached the finish line, with a Rainbow eating my dust... until the last moment when she passed me, winning the race. As I crossed the finish line, I couldn't help but stare at her in awe, as nopony has been able to keep up with me, much less beat me in a race. She seemed to notice this, and she gave me a smug look, before bragging about how great she is, causing me to roll my eyes. Though one thought kept coming to mind. I finally have somepony who can beat me in a race... My necklace started to glow red for a second before returning to it's original color. > Dream sequence 1 (Rewrite) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The night before… I was awoken, or so I thought, to the sound of laughing. I opened my eyes and looked around to try and find the source, only to not find anything, only the interior of my new house. I was about to go back to sleep, as it was dead in the middle of the night when I heard laughing, but closer, again. I franticly looked around to try and find the source, worried that someone was in my house, but who would be here in the middle of the night? Then I saw the source, a faintly visible shadow. I got out of bed to take a closer look, only for it and the room to disappear. Oh, I’m in a dream. I realized almost instantly. Normally, I had control over my dreams, so I tried to bring out a pleasant memory, only for nothing to happen. I heard footsteps behind me, so I turned around, big mistake. I was instantly jumped by an invisible force. ‘Oh, who do we have here?’ A voice spoke out, ‘Somepony helpless?’ “Who are you?!” I yelled out. ‘You don’t know me? What a shame, what a shame indeed. Didn’t your mother tell you about me?’ I got silent at that, I tried to pull out a memory that could tell me who this pony was. As I realized who she was, my eyes grew wide. No, it can’t be! I thought to myself, it just can’t! ‘The voice laughed, ‘Well, well, well. Looks like you realized who I am, so now you need to die, you’ll just get in the way,’ the voice said. Suddenly, I was lifted into the air. I was yelling, but not out of fear, but more so out of frustration that I couldn’t do anything, even in my own dream. As I struggled, I was brought closer to what I assumed what the source of the voice; I just had to wait for the right moment to attack. That was sooner as I felt something brush against my leg. Immediately, I kicked the source as hard as I could, only to feel nothing and I was dropped. I once more tried to pull out a pleasant memory, the time that I was given my necklace from my mother. Although the memory didn’t appear, my necklace did, which served to only confuse me even more. But it then started to glow blue, orange, red, purple, pink, and lavender. Suddenly, as it returned to its normal color, it blasted out what looked like a rainbow at a single spot, then the yelling came. I woke up back in my room, but to be safe, I hit myself as hard as I could to see if I was awake. OUCH! I mentally yelled, Well, I’m awake. I sat there trying to figure out what that meant, but I knew one thing. That was Nightmare Moon, and she was returning. > Ponyville: Meeting the shy (Rewrite) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the race, I was walking home when I was intercepted by a white coated unicorn. “Hello, darling, my name is Rarity,” she greeted me. “Hello, Rarity, my name is Sunny Days. And if I could ask, I want to know what you want?” I asked, knowing that she came to me from something. “All I wanted is to give you this, I wanted to give it to you at the party, but it wasn’t finished yet,” she explained as she pulled out a box. Curious, I opened the box and pulled out an orange scarf with yellow outlines. “I… I don’t know what to say, thank you” I stammered. This was honestly the last thing I expected. Putting the scarf back in the box, I thanked Rarity, telling her that I would come by later to help her with whatever she needed. I started walking home. I put away the scarf, making sure that I didn’t take it out of the box. Seeing it was almost night, I got an apple to eat, then I lay down, hoping I didn’t have another nightmare, though that was just wistful thinking. Just like my last nightmare, I was awoken to the sound of laughing; though this time I knew better than to open my eyes, so I just ignored it. After about an hour of constant laughing, I had enough. I shouted, “SHUT UP! I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!” This seemed to be enough as the laughing stopped. Sighing in relief, I lay back down, trying to get some sleep. However, it wasn’t done tormenting me, as I fell to the floor. Groaning, I asked, “What do you want?” This seemed to catch the voice by surprise. “So now you want to pay attention…” the voice grumbled, “Well, since I have you attention now, I want to kill you.” Before it could continue, I summoned a pleasant memory, but this time, it was a memory from yesterday, the one where I was helping Applejack with her chores. I was suddenly in an apple orchard. ‘Ah, Sweet Apple Acres,’ I thought to myself. I then saw myself helping Applejack with apple bucking, helping her with her chores, ‘Ah, good times.’ However, this was quickly ruined as meteors came crashing down on the farm. I silently prayed that this would end soon so I didn’t have to see this anymore. Thankfully, my prayer was answered. As I sat up, I stretched, glad that I was out of that nightmare. I took a quick look around the room and found another box. Cautiously, I walked over and carefully opened the box. I was surprised when I saw nothing in the box. I barely closed it when a pink mass of fur popped out of the box. Even though I was shocked, I quickly realized the pink mass of fur was Pinkie. “How did you fit in the box?” I asked in shock. “By breaking the fourth wall… By breaking the fourth wall, ok maybe I can’t say it,” she replied with a sheepish grin, I groaned at this answer. "Ok... I'll just chalk it up to your usual logic defying antics," I managed after I stopped groaning. After Pinkie disappeared back into the box, I took a quick look inside and found nothing except for another hundred bits. Scoping up the bits and putting them with the rest of my bits, I left my house and ran into a yellow pegasus, causing her to shriek in surprise, dropping her load in the process. "Oh Celestia! I'm so sorry!" I apologized as I picked up her stuff, proceeding to give it back. Though I became worried when I looked up and saw that she was hiding behind her mane, "Umm... hello? My name is Sunny days, I hope I didn't scare you too badly." I said with a soft voice, hoping my assumption that she was shy was correct. "My name is Fluttershy," she muttered "I'm sorry, what was that?" "I said my name is Fluttershy," she muttered again, though I caught it that time. 'So this is Fluttershy... where did I hear- oh yea, at the race,' I remembered. "So, Fluttershy, do you need help with anything?" I asked with a worried tone. After a moment, she appeared from behind her mane. "Maybe you could, um, help with the animals today?" she asked in a soft tone, ok, she was definitely shy, no pun intended. "Ok," I said softly with a smile, "Lead the way." I started to follow her to what I assumed was her house, when I immediately noticed a lot of animals. 'Ok, now I just need to hope there are no manticores in here...' I barely finished the thought when I heard a manticore roar, causing my to jump in fright. I would of ran out of the house too if I didn't feel a hoof on my shoulder. "There is no need to worry, just watch," she told me with confidence as she walked out. Against my better judgement, I followed her out. When I got out, I saw quite possibly the biggest manticore I've ever seen, causing my legs to lock up, my eyes wide with fear. But I relaxed when I felt a hoof on my shoulder, "Like I said, don't worry," she told me once again with confidence. All I could do was watch wide eyed as she approached the manticore. I was about to charge in and attack it, even against my better judgement, when I heard purring. It took me a bit to realize that the purring was coming from... the manticore?! What I saw shocked me even more, it looked like Fluttershy was talking to it. So I did the natural thing, I passed out. "Ugh," I groaned as I opened my eyes, though I was confused when I found myself in a different bed than what I'm usually in. Then a door opened. "Sunny? Are you awake yet?" a soft yet worried voice asked. It took me a moment to realize that the voice was Fluttershy. "Yes, I'm awake," I replied, "What happened? It's all so fuzzy," All I could remember was the fact that a manticore was involved, but not much else. "Well, while I was talking to the manticore, I heard something that sounded like something heavy hitting the ground," she explained, "I assumed you fainted from what happened, and I assume you have a fear of manticores?" the question caught me off guard. I did a quick discussion with myself to decide how much I should reveal. "Yes, you are correct on your assumption," I said, hoping she wouldn't ask for more. When she didn't say anything else, I thought I was home free, but then she asked the dreaded question... "What happened in your past that caused you to have such a fear?" dang it, I was hoping that she wouldn't ask that dreaded question. "I... I had a bad experience with a manticore when I was younger," I admitted in a soft voice, "I really don't want to talk about it, as the memory is really painful, along with the wounds that came with it." Fluttershy was quiet for a count of ten. "You don't have to tell me, but it may help you finally relieve you of your pain," she told me in a worried tone. Debating with myself, I finally decided that I would reveal the event to her. "Ok, I'll tell you, but be warned, you may not be able to stomach what the manticore did to me," I warned. After a nod, and Fluttershy getting a trashcan, I told her everything about the event, minus the fact that my foster mother is Princess Celestia the fact that I'm truly a alicorn. After I was done, all it did was raise more questions... "Wait, you don't remember anything?" she asked. "Nope, nothing, not even my parents," I told her in a sad voice. At this point, I was near tears because as I told it, I was also reliving it at the same time. After about half a minute of futile attempts to prevent myself from crying, the dam broke, tears flowing down my face like a river flowing downhill. Fluttershy was there comforting me the entire time. After about five minutes, I finally stopped crying. "Feeling better?" Fluttershy asked. In all honesty, I was feeling a lot better. "Y.. yes, thank you Fluttershy," I managed. To think that she managed to turn around the fact that I was originally here to help her out to she was helping me. "I... I think I should go home, it's getting late after all. See you later?" I asked, and I got a nod in response. As I was leaving the house, my necklace started glowing pink. > Ponyville: Generosity Ensured (Rewrite) > --------------------------------------------------------------------------         I had a night of no dreams, which worried me, but I decided to get my mind off it by helping Rarity today. The only problem I foreseen is that I don't know where to find her. Though that was quickly solved when I ran into her the moment I left the house. 'Why do I have to keep running into other ponies?' I thought to myself. "Sorry, Rarity, I didn't know you were there," I quickly apologized, "Though I was about to go looking for you. I was wondering if you needed any help today?” I asked.         “Actually, yes. An extra hoof would be wonderful, as I have a lot of orders to complete,” she told me, “Follow me, please.” She started trotting away, with me in tow. After a short trot, we arrived at what I assumed was where she worked. After we got to where we would make the clothing, she started to ask me to bring certain material to her, along with some templates. After the third article of clothing, I spotted another box, once again, curiosity got the better of me as I brought the box over to Rarity, all while asking, “Umm, Rarity? Is this the box you need?” All I got was a confused expression.         “No, I don’t remember seeing that box at all to be honest.” This only confused me more, as I opened the box, only for a pink blur to come out of the tiny box, causing me and Rarity to jump back in surprise.         “Damn it, Pinkie!” I managed after the moment of shock passed, “Why do you insist on scaring me?!” That gave me a confused look. "What are you talking about?" Pinkie asked, "I only came to drop something off..." as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared back into the box. Curious, I looked in the box to find some templates, some materials, and a few hundred bits. I assumed that this was all for Rarity, so I gave the box to her. After looking in the box, she muttered something that I couldn't catch, though I assume she was thanking Pinkie for the supplies. After putting the materials, Templates, and Bits away, we continued on. A couple hours later, we were finally finished. I said goodbye to Rarity and started to head home. Just like last night, I heard laughing, though I didn't want a repeat of my last nightmare. "Seriously, why can't you leave me alone?" I asked Nightmare, "I just want to sleep in peace for a few nights. Is that so hard to ask?" The laughing stopped. "And why would I do that?" she asked, "You'll only get in the way of my return." 'Wait, return? What return?' I thought to myself. "You know what? I had enough of this," I told her. "NO! DON'T YOU DAR-" she tried to yell, but it's kind of hard to speak if you don't have a mouth. 'Ah, I love having control of my dreams,' I laughed mentally as I brought out one of the many memories that I had with my foster mother. I, thankfully, enjoyed the rest of the night without anymore interruptions. For the next four years, I kept up a weekly schedule of working for Applejack and Rarity for bits (though that was after I started to run low), getting surprised by Pinkie, and occasionally visiting my mother. I learned that I could contact my mother with my necklace by tapping it with a hoof, though why she didn't tell me when I got it, I'll never know. I've also grown close to my new friends during this time (minus Rarity, as we don't usually see eye to eye). However, that was ruined when a manticore attacked ponyville. 'Out of all things that could've attacked, why did it have to be a manticore?!' I thought as I was frozen with fear. The manticore was tearing down buildings as Fluttershy tried to calm the raging manticore. However, when I saw it swat at Fluttershy, my mind went blank as it filled with rage. With a yell, I ran towards the manticore with fury filled eyes, determined to make it pay for what it did. I landed blow after blow as the manticore broke a leg, severely slowing me down. Almost a minute passed and the manticore was already had numerous gashes. Another five and it started to retreat back into the Everfree. I had won, though not unscaved. I came out with multiple broken bones, numerous gashes, and a crack horn, which I didn't know about at the time. The manticore learned the hard way, nothing hurts my friends. I took a look at Fluttershy to make sure she was ok, only to see her cowering, causing my rage to dissipate. This, however, caused all of the fear that was held back by my rage washed over me at once, causing me to faint on the spot. "Ugh," I groaned as I tried to get up, only to feel a lot of pain in my legs. I took a quick look around the room to see that it was just morning, along with my friends sleeping in various spots around the room. A few minutes later, Applejack was the first up, followed by Pinkie, Fluttershy, Rainbow, and Rarity. The moment they noticed I was up, they swarmed me in a bone crushing hug, all while saying how happy they were that I was okay. "What happened, I really don't remember much," I managed after they released me from the hug. After I was caught up to speed on what happened, I was shocked by the fact that I would do anything like that. Barely glancing at Fluttershy, I lowered my head in shame. "I can't believe I would do such a thing," I said in shame. "It's ok, darling. You was only trying to save Fluttershy." "Yes, I know, but I could of handled the situation in a much better way than I did," I managed, near tears. 'I wonder how bad my injuries were' "They were pretty bad," Pinkie said, I notice her mane had reinflated itself, before realizing something important. "Wait, did you just read my mind...?" I asked in shock. Before she could answer, I just said, "Wait, don't answer that. So, what were the extent of my injuries?" I asked. "Let's see, two broken legs, a cracked horn, and several gashes along your body." 'At least I know the extent of my injuries now...' "Ok, I should probably rest." Despite the moans of protest that I should stay up for a little longer, I lay back down, trying to get some rest. For the first time in a four years, I heard a familiar laughing. 'At least she gave me a few years of peace,' I thought to myself. After she appeared, I took away her mouth before she could say anything, along with her wings and horns. 'I wish I could do this in real life,' I thought as I snickered at the sight of Nightmare Moon panicking when she realized her mouth was gone. After a few minutes of her running around in a panic, I decided it was enough fun for one night as I gave her back her mouth. "What... What did you do?" she asked me. "Why, I just took away your mouth..." I snickered. I got an annoyed glare in return. "Enough of this, you'll die... now....?" she started before realizing that her wings and horn was gone as well. I gave her a smile. "I'm a lucid dreamer," I revealed, "So I can do anything here." After realizing this, she simply disappeared, which was followed by me summoning one of my favorite memories with my foster mother. I enjoyed the rest of the night without being bothered. It was in the afternoon when I finally woke up again, and the first thing I noticed was that the pain I was feeling earlier was replaced by a numb feeling. After a few minutes of trying to get up, I finally managed to get to a mirror, where I finally noticed that there was a crack in the base of my horn. A doctor came into the room shortly after and told me I was free to go, though I wasn't allowed to use my horn while it was healing. After saying my goodbyes, and wrapping my horn in a bandage, I headed home for the day to rest. A few day later, as I was working with Rarity, something happened... > Captured (Rewrite) (Edited) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ok, next I need the purple fabric," Rarity told me. I had to get it by hoof as my horn was cracked, making it dangerous for me to use my magic. After getting the fabric, I decided I wanted to know more about her past... "Um, Rarity? How did you get you cutie mark?" I really wanted to know so I have a place to start searching for mine. Just as she is about to say how, we heard the sound of crashing near our location. "Um, what was that?" I asked, really hoping it wasn't another manticore. "I don't- " she didn't get to finish as we heard more crashing. I took a step forward in hopes to figure out what was causing the sounds. I barely left the room when I heard a shriek of pain. "Rarity!" I yelled, rushing back the way I came. I only took five steps back into the room when I felt something hard hit the back of my head, knocking me out in the process. "Why does this have to happen every time I go anywhere?" I groaned as I got up. I was in what looked like an enclosed room with only one door. I tried to move towards it, but felt something pull my neck back. "What?!" I exclaimed. I looked behind me to see a chain that was leading to.... me? Straining to look down, I finally noticed that my neck was in a cast iron collar, though my necklace was still visible. 'Why didn't they take my necklace? Don't they know I can call for help using it?!' I was about to tap my hoof on it but I hesitated. I didn't want to rely on calling for help every time I get in trouble. I then, however, realized that I was helpless as my horn was still healing, cutting me off from my magic. 'Great..." I thought sarcastically. This time, without hesitation, I tapped the necklace with a hoof, all while saying, "Mom? Can you hear me?" When I got nothing in return, I started to panic, though that quickly ended when I heard a voice. "Sunny? Why are you trying to contact me at this time of night?" A voice said angrily. "To make a long story short, me and Rarity were foal napped." She was quiet for a few seconds. "How?!" "I was hit in the back of the head with something heavy, though I don't know how they got Rarity. And before you ask, I can't use my magic because there is a crack in my horn." "How did you manage to get a crack in your horn?!" she said in a worried tone. "I risked myself to save Fluttershy from a enraged manticore. I gotten two broken legs, numerous gashes, and a pretty big crack in my horn, I was out for two days." "Ok, where are you then?" she asked, which I finally realized something. "I don't know, I'm in an enclosed room with only one door and an iron collar around my neck, and said collar is bound on the wall opposite from the door." I informed her. "Well, that is a problem, then," she got quiet for a moment, "Try to escape without the use of your magic, and find Rarity. I'll send out a squad of guards to try and find you two." And with that, the connection broke. 'Great....' I thought until I saw something that I didn't noticed before, a key? Picking it up, I felt around the collar that was on me to try and find what could be a keyhole to unlock the collar. And as luck would have it, it was on the back of the collar. After about ten minutes of trying to unlock the collar, I finally got the key in and managed to turn it. This caused the key to dissolve into nothingness, I started to get worried before I heard a faint click, which was followed by the collar falling off my neck. I just stood there is shock, not knowing what to do. That quickly changed when I heard voices getting closer to my position. As quickly and silently as I could, I hid in a blind spot next to the door. I stayed quiet. Shortly after, a unicorn was thrown into the room, with the collar magicly attaching to her neck. After the door closed, I move towards her to try and wake her up. 'This should be easy...' I thought as I nudged her side, "Rarity, wake up." Nothing happened. More forcefully, I nudged her again, "Rarity, wake up!" This seemed to do the trick as she let out a yawn before opening her eyes. "Wh- What happened?" she asked. "To make a very long story short, we were foal napped." I explained, "I already got out of the bindings because one of them were stupid enough to leave a key in hooves reach." "Bindings?" "Look at your neck." After a quick glance at her neck, she looked back at me and said, "Now, how are we going to get this off?" "I have an idea, but you might not like it," I warned her. Before she could respond, the world around me seemed to turn black and white. "Sunny! Where did you go!" Rarity exclaimed. I took a look around and noticed strange symbols coming from various sources, including the bindings. "Rarity? I think I know how to get you out." To this, I got no response, which worried me. However, I was pulled from my thoughts when I felt something strange happening to my horn. I looked up to see that it was glowing with a silver tint. A few moments later, the color returned to the world. "I think I know how to get you out of the bindings," I told her. Focusing my magic into a single spot via beam, I started to cut through the material, though slowly. It took about ten minutes before I finally got her free. But before we could celebrate, we heard yelling. "Scatter!" I whispered harshly, hiding behind a well placed desk. I heard hoofsteps in the room, closing on my position, and thankfully, away from Rarity, who was hiding under a bed on the opposite side of the room. Though once again, the world seemed to lose it's color. I tensed when one of the guards looked at me, but he didn't seem to see me. 'Am I invisible?' I wondered. Testing it out, I got out of my hiding spot and sure enough, they didn't notice me. Deciding to use this to my advantage, I went from guard to guard, knocking each one out silently while the others' backs were turned. Soon enough, all of the guards were incapacitated. The world regained its color. "H- H- How did you do that?" she questioned. "To be honest, I don't know," I admitted. If I could learn how to control this, I could really use this to my advantage in battles. But then a thought came to me. 'Could I will myself invisible?' Following the thought, the world seemed to lose it's color again, causing Rarity to gasp. "Where did you go?!" she panicked. I willed myself back into existence. "Right here," I told her, I moved from my spot while invisible, just to freak her out. After seeing her reaction, I told her we need to move, me being invisible while Rarity had to be more stealthy. Along the way, I was knocking out guards, who I realized were changelings, to make a path for Rarity to continue on. A few minutes later, we finally made it out... right under canterlot. "Let's keep this to ourselves, ok?" I ask Rarity, who just gave me a nod. As we went our separate ways, my necklace started to glow purple. I was pacing while I was waiting for my mom to get up, although I agreed not to mention this again, I just had to tell her. After what seemed like forever, the door to my old room opened. "Sunny?" my mother asked. "Over here." She made her way to my bed as she proceeded to check me for injuries. "I'm glad that you're ok," she told me while embracing me, "Though, how did you get out?" she asked curiously. "One of the guards left a key in my cell in hooves-reach," I told her, "A big mistake if you ask me." I then proceed to tell her what happened, though when I told her that the guards were changeling in origin, she paled a bit. "I'll have a dispatchment of guards look into this, but for now, just rest up," she said, worry evident in her voice. "Mom? What are changelings anyways?" I asked. "That's not for you to worry about right now." I pouted at this. "Fine." I said in a huff. After a few minutes after I lay down, I drifted into slumber. After I returned to Ponyville the next day, I got a bombardment of questions from my friends. I decided that they had to know more about my past, at least more of what I could remember. We decided to meet at Canterlot to reveal what really happened that day, while leaving out that I'm an alicorn. That's for another day. "Girls," I told them, "What you're about to hear may sound far fetched, but I swear it's the truth." After getting a nod from each of them, I took a deep breath and finally said, "Fluttershy, remember when I told you I was adopted after the incident?" Another nod from her, "Well, my foster mother is Princess Celestia." I saw the looks of shock on the other mares' faces. After a moment, Rainbow laughed. "Nice joke, Sunny!" Rainbow laughed, which immediately stopped when saw my face, which was showing no amusement. "You're joking, right?" "Mom, you can come in now," I called out. Almost immediately, the door to the room opened to reveal the Princess, causing the other mares to gasp and immediately drop into a bow. After a few more moments passed, they all came out of their bow, which led to Rainbow saying... "Princess, is what Sunny saying true?" she asked, only to get a nod in return. "So, that makes you royalty, then," I gave her a nod of my own. This caused her to immediately pale and dropped into a bow. Sighing, I said, "Rainbow, we're friends, you don't need to bow." I was never one for glory or attention, so I usually kept to myself, though being in Ponyville helped with my shyness. A few minutes later, they finally came out of their shock. After denying Rarity's request to make me a dress for my now revealed status as royalty, and convincing Pinkie not to throw a party, as I wanted to keep this a secret for as long as possible, I told them that our 'meet' was over. After returning to Ponyville, we said our goodbyes as we went our separate ways for the night. After I entered my house, I decided to turn in for the night, drifting off into slumber in just a few minutes. > Nightmare Moon (Rewrite) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fifthteen hours before Nightmare Moon's return... Finally, the day I was waiting for, the Summer Sun Celebration has finally came to Ponyville, though I also dreaded this day as well, for today is the day that Nightmare Moon returns. 'On the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in her escape,' I remembered, 'Today will determine the fate of Equestria.' I was torn out of my thoughts when I heard a chariot land, carrying who I assumed was Twilight. I started to approach to welcome her, but Pinkie beat me to her. Before I could get out of my shock, wondering how she managed to get there before me, Twilight had already moved on. 'Damn, she's already gone...' I thought bitterly. At that moment, however, I realized that Pinkie probably has a party planned for her, so I could welcome her later. This was enough to get me moving, doing the part my mother has given me personally, no matter how much I hated it. Later that night, it Pinkie crowded all of us into the library, where I assumed was where Twilight was staying. We stood around for a good five minutes before Pinkie said, "Everypony hide!" When she said that, we all scattered for a hiding spot. We waited for another few minutes before the door opened revealing a Twilight. We let her get farther in before we sprung out and yelled, "SURPRISE!" After the party started, I walked up to Twilight, "Hey, Twilight! I wanted to meet you earlier, but I just missed you by the time I got there. My name is Sunny Days," I told her, holding out a hoof to shake. When she didn't shake, I slowly put down my hoof with a look of confusion on my face, before mentally facehoofing, remembering what the letter said. After a few moments, Twilight went on to do her own thing, which involved going upstairs. A few hours later, it was time to see my foster mother raise the sun. After we all herded into Town Hall (while situating myself next to Twilight), the mayor appeared. "Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" A lot of ponies cheered at that, "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year! And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria, Princess Celestia!" The curtains opened to reveal... nothing. "That can't be good," I heard Twilight say over the muttering. As the mayor tried to calm everypony down, a star-filled fog started to come from where my mother was supposed to come from, which dissipated to reveal Nightmare Moon. When she appeared, I didn't stick around to see what she would do. Silently, I snuck back to the library, thinking that would be the best place to look to try and find something that could defeat her. A few minutes after I reached the library, Twilight came storming in, causing me to jump. "S- Sunny? What are you doing here?" she asked. "What do you think? I knew of her return for five years." I told her, "Now help me look for something that can defeat her." For a good five minutes, we scrambled around (though Twilight told me that the elements were the only things that could defeat her), trying to find a way to defeat her as Twilight muttered... "Elements, Elements, Elements, how can I defeat Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?" At that moment, Rainbow rushed in. "And just what are the Elements of Harmony? And how did you know about Nightmare Moon, huh? Are you a spy?" she accused. "Rainbow!" I scolded, "She's not a spy!" "And how can I trust you? I saw you sneak out after Nightmare showed up!" I froze at what she said, I was losing all of the trust she had for me. Thankfully, Applejack came to our rescue, pulling Rainbow by her tail. "Simmer down, Sally. They ain't no spies. But they sure knows what's going on. Don't cha'?" Applejack said as the other mares came up upon us. After a quick glance at each other, me and Twilight started to explain what we knew. While we were talking, Pinkie said, "'The Elements of Harmony: A Reference Guide.'" This caused Twilight to gallop over, "How did you find that?" she asked. "It was under 'E'" "Oh...." she opened the book, "There are six Elements of Harmony, but only five are known: Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Honesty and Loyalty. The sixth is a complete mystery. It is said, the last known location of the five elements was in the ancient castle of the royal pony sisters. It is located in what is now the Everfree Forest." Most of my friends' eyes went wide at that, though I wasn't too fazed by it; I really didn't know what it was about that forest that has everypony worked up. After a short trot, we made it to the entrance to the forest. "Whee! Let's go!" Pinkie exclaimed. "Not so fast, I really appreciate the offer, but I really rather do this on my own." "No can do, sugarcube. We sure ain't lettin' any friend of ours go into that creepy place alone," Twilight seemed to cringe at the word 'friend', "We're stickin' to you like caramel on a candy apple." This was followed by an agreeing 'mhmp', causing Twilight to sigh. This was going to be a long night. As we were walking, I decided to find out what it was about this place that has everypony worked up, "What is it about this place that has y'all worked up?" I asked, not expecting to get an answer. Rarity, not surprisingly, was the first to speak up, "Just look at it... it's dreadful," she started. "And it ain't natural," Applejack continued, "Folks say it don't work the same as Equestria." "What's that supposed to mean?" me and Twilight asked at the same time. "Nopony knows, and do you know why?" Rainbow said in a menacing voice. "Rainbow, quit it!" Applejack scolded. "'cause everypony who's ever come in has never come out!" the cliff we were standing on collapsed on us, though Rainbow was quick to recover, "Fluttershy! Quick!" Rainbow and Fluttershy started to pick us up, starting with Pinkie and Rarity, though when Applejack saw Twilight slide to the edge, she slid down after her. "Applejack! What do I do?" Twilight asked after Applejack grabbed her. I, from my perch on the side of the cliff where I managed to get a hoof-hold, saw Rainbow and Fluttershy position themselves under Twilight. Applejack seemed to notice this. "Let go." "Are you crazy?!" "No, I ain't. I promise you'll be safe." "That's not true!" "Now listen here. What I'm sayin' to you is the honest truth. Let go, and you'll be safe." After a moment of silence, Twilight dropped... right into Rainbow's and Fluttershy's hooves. Seeing that Twilight was safe, I slid down. While I was wondering how I was going to get down, I felt some hooves lift me up. Looking back, I see Rainbow attempted to lift me up with the help of Fluttershy. Together, the gently lifted me down to the ground where the rest of the girls were waiting. As we continued walking, Rainbow started to boast about saving Twilight. Even though I tuned them out, I heard a disturbingly familiar roar. Looking ahead, I saw something I hoped never to see, a manticore. This caused my muscles to lock up as I looked on with fear. Fluttershy immediately ran into me. Wondering what held me up, she looked past me and knew what was happening immediately. "Get Sunny out of here!" Fluttershy told the others, "I got this." She started to walk up to the manticore. Even though it roared at her, she just nuzzled it and it opened it's paw and revealed a thorn. After she pulled out the thorn, the others started to move past her and the manticore (though they had to drag me as I was paralyzed with fear). "How did you know about the thorn?" Twilight asked. "I didn't, but sometimes we all need to be shown a little kindness." "Soooo," Rainbow interrupted, "I have an idea on how to get her out of her trance." She trotted up to me and slapped me three times. "OUCH!!" I yelled., "You know, water would of done the trick as well, right?" I asked with a shake of my head. "Anyways, Sunny? What happened back there?" Rainbow asked, causing the other mares to look at me. I was starting to get uncomfortable when Fluttershy came to the rescue. "She has a really huge fear of manticores." she explained. When Rainbow was about to ask if it were true, I gave her a halfhearted nod. After that, we continued in silence. As we were walking, Rarity started to complain about the forest, which, undoubtedly, caused the light to dim around us. "I didn't mean it literally," she commented. "That ancient ruin could be right in front of our faces and we wouldn't even know it," Twilight pointed out. After a few more steps, Fluttershy screamed out. "It's just mud..." Applejack faltered when she saw the tree in front of her, "Ahh!" After a few minutes of screaming, we heard laughing, which caught our attention. The source of the laughing was coming from Pinkie. "Pinkie? What are you doing? Run!" Twilight exclaimed. "Oh, girls, don't you see? When I was a little filly and the sun was going down..." Pinkie started. "Tell me she's not..." "The darkness and the shadows, they would always make me frown..." "She is." "I'd hide under my pillow From what I thought I saw But Granny Pie said that wasn't the way To deal with fears at all" "Then what is?" Rainbow asked. "She said, 'Pinkie, you gotta stand up tall Learn to face your fears You'll see that they can't hurt you Just laugh to make them disappear.' Ha! Ha! Ha!" The tree's face turned into normal bark, causing us to gasp. "So, giggle at the ghostly Guffaw at the grossly Crack up at the creepy Whoop it up with the weepy Chortle at the kooky Snortle at the spooky And tell that big dumb scary face to take a hike and leave you alone and if he thinks he can scare you then he's got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing just makes you wanna... hahahaha... heh... Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuugh!" This caused everypony except me to fall over laughing. The only thing the song brought me was sorrow about my past life, the life I couldn't remember. Pinkie soon noticed this. "Sunny? What's wrong?" Pinkie asked with worry. "All the song did was bring back sorrow I kept down for years." I admitted, nearly crying. The other mares suddenly looked at me with guilt on their faces. After the other mares managed to lift my spirits, we continued along. We walked for about five minutes before we came upon some rapids. "How are we going to cross this?" Pinkie asked rhetorically. "Girls, do you hear that?" I asked. My friends listened closely and heard what I was talking about, some distant crying. After finally tracking down the source, we came across a sea serpent (though why a sea serpent is in the middle of a river is beyond me). After a a few minutes, Rarity pulled a scale off the serpent, much to his displeasure, and shaved off a portion of her tail. Lifting it up in her magic, she put a piece of the now cut of tail in the place of his missing mustache. The serpent thanked us (along with getting us a dry path across) and we continued along. We then came to a ravine, which Twilight almost fell off of. Rainbow, going across it, started to tie the bridge up. However, we noticed what looked like three mares, which looked like they were trying to convince Rainbow to abandon us. As we tried to call out to her, the fog thickened, blocking our view of her. After a few minutes, the fog lifted, revealing Rainbow as she was coming back across. "See? I'd never leave my friends hangin'," she told Twilight. As we entered the throne room, the pegasi of the group started to pick up the Elements and slowly bring them to the floor. "Careful, careful," Twilight said. Pinkie started to count them. "... There's only five!" Pinkie stated. "Where's the sixth?" Rainbow questioned. "The book said that 'when the five Elements are present, a spark will cause the sixth one to appear'," Twilight recalled. "What the hay is that supposed to mean?" "I'm not sure, but I have an idea. Stand back. I don't know what will happen," Twilight told us as she started to charge up a spell. "Come on now, y'all. She needs to concentrate," Applejack told us as we filed out of the room. It seemed like a few moments later when we heard Twilight yell in surprise, causing us to rush back into the room, only to find Twilight nowhere in sight. That was when everypony started to panic, trying to figure out where she went. It didn't take long for Rarity to find her... which was in the next tower over. We all started rushing over to the tower. After a short trot, we started to hear Twilight. "... Well, you're wrong, because the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here," she stated with a stomp of her hoof, which was followed by each of us flanking Twilight on both sides. She started to rattle off who represented each Element, with the exception of me. After she was done, Nightmare stated, "You still don't have the sixth Element! The spark didn't work!" "But it did! A different kind of spark," she turned to us, "I felt it the very moment I realized how happy I was to hear you, to see you, how much I cared about you. The spark ignited inside me when I realized that you all... are my friends! You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the... the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of... magic!" Before they could utilize the Elements, Nightmare quickly shot a bolt of magic directly at Twilight, surprising us all. For some reason, time seemed to slow down as I galloped to push her out of the way. I barely got her out of the way, but there wasn't enough time for me to get out of the way, so I was blasted into a already crumbling wall. Before I was covered in rubble, I saw my wings reappear. I shortly passed out. "Sunny!" I exclaimed. 'She... she saved my life,' I realized. With newfound anger, I turned back towards Nightmare, with my friends doing the same. We activated the Elements of Harmony, shooting a rainbow beam at Nightmare Moon. A few seconds later, she was encased in a cyclone of rainbow magic. As the Elements deactivated, we all rushed over to the pile of rubble to try and get our friend out. We were so focused on trying to get her out that we didn't notice the princess walk up behind us. "Allow me," she simply said, causing all of us to jump. After the initial shock, we immediately fell into a bow, afterwards, we continued to dig at the pile. It took a few minutes, but I finally saw a horn poking out through the rubble. "Over here!" I called out. The others immediately came over. When we got the rubble off her, however, everypony gasped. "Sunny!" the princess screamed, rushing over to pull her out. After she pulled out the unconscious form of a now alicorn Sunny; she immediately started to cry into her coat. "Girls, I want you to get her to a hospital," before we could protest, she yelled, "NOW!" Her horn lit up in a golden aura, Sunny's body doing the same. Seconds later, her wings seemed to disappear. Shortly after, we reappeared back in Ponyville, surprising everypony in the immediate vicinity. "We need a doctor!" I called out. Almost immediately, a white coated mare came up to us. "Come on, take her this way," she said urgently with a wave of her hoof. After we got her into a bed, we were asked to give her some space. "She.... She saved me...." I muttered, still not believing that she would do that. With a gasp of pain, I shot up in.... my.... bed? I took a quick look around to see two alicorns and my friends, though Twilight wasn't anywhere in sight. I recognized one of the alicorns as my mother, though I didn't recognized the other. She had a dark blue coat with a light blue mane and a crescent moon for a cutie mark. They didn't seem to realize that I was awake, so I tried to call for my most likely worried mother. "M- Mom?" I asked weakly. She immediately snapped her head towards me. "Shh," she said in a worried tone as soon as she embraced me, "Don't worry, everything is fine now." "I- is Twilight ok?" I managed next, only to get a nod. "G- good." I weakly said with a weak smile. I could rest in peace knowing that Twilight was ok. "Oh no... you're not dying on us!" Pinkie said in a serious tone. Once again, she seemed to show the ability to read minds, with freaked me out to be honest. "W-what makes you think that I'm going to die?" I weakly laughed. I tried to get up, only to fall back down unconscious. > Memory Lane (Rewrite) > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Now you know everything," I finished up. "And you still don't remember anything about your past?" Twilight asked. "Sadly, no." I said, sorrow evident in my voice. Normally, whenever somepony brings up my past, old pain from the life that I didn't remember plagues me. This time, however, it felt like a burden that I didn't even realize was there has been lifted. "Thanks for coming, Twilight. After finally reliving everything from my past, it felt like a burden was lifted," I told her. I would of continued, but at that moment, Twilight gasped, eyes wide in surprise. "What?" I started to get worried. "I- It's your necklace...." was all she said. 'What about my necklace?' I wondered. Taking a closer look, I noticed it started to glow lavender. "That's odd, I don't remember seeing it do that...." I started before the glowing faded. I didn't have time to wonder what caused it before it started to glow again, but in six different colors; blue, orange, red, pink, purple, and lavender. I didn't react well to that. Ok, I lied, I reacted horribly to it. My wings flared in alarm, I started to use my magic to try and take off my necklace, but I felt a pain in my horn, forcing me to stop. Suddenly, six wisps of energy separated themselves from the necklace and started to orbit around me, getting faster and faster as it lifted me into the air. "Help!" I yelled out, forgetting that I told the guard to leave us be. Though, thankfully, a guard came rushing into the room and saw what was happening. But before he could do anything, a bright light exploded outward before I blacked out. "Ugh..." I groaned. I stood up on my legs, using my hands to push myself off..... Wait, hands?! Taking a look had my forelegs, I saw what I recognized as hands, I also noticed that my forelegs seemed to have morph into arms. "W- Where am I?" I wondered aloud, "What happened to me?" Suddenly, an image appeared before me. Taking a closer look, I recognized the scene, It was the day before I disappeared, before I was attacked.... "Ok, see you tomorrow, Destiny!" I called out. "Later, Heather!" I got off the bus and started to walk home. Even though it was a long walk, it was one of the only times that I can actually think without being interrupted. While I was deep in thought, I heard some bushes shaking off to my left. Taking a look, I couldn't pinpoint the source, in fact, I didn't see any bushes. Shrugging, I turned back to continue only to run into what I recognized as a manticore. 'Manticores are real?!' I immediately turned to high-tail it outta there, only to run through what seemed like a portal. I blacked out. After sitting for what seemed like hours, I finally remembered everything. My old family, my old friends, my past life. Even a few ponies.... no, people, who hated me, who wanted to make my life miserable. I took a look at my arms, only to find my forelegs in their place, hooves replacing my hands. 'I can't tell anyone about what I saw....' I thought to myself. "Sunny?" a voice said. 'Damn it....' Turning around, I saw a dark blue alicorn that I recognized as Luna (who I found out was Celestia's younger sister, so that makes her my aunt). "Are thou ok?" she asked with worry evident in her voice, "Thou was sitting there for hours without moving, causing us to get worried. Not to mention that thou fainted earlier." "Yes, I'm fine, just..... lost in thought." I lied. I was anything but fine. Sadly, Luna seemed to see it on my face. "We can see it on thy face, what is bothering thou?" she asked. Taking a deep breath, I said, "Ok, just... don't tell anypony what I tell you, ok?" As I sat there catching her up, her eyes got wider and wider with each thing I said. "Art. . . art thou joking?" she questioned. "I wish I was," I sighed. "Thou may want to wake soon, for thee mother is worried," my eyes widen at that. 'Crap! I completely forgot about how she'll react!' I started to panic, until I felt a hoof on my shoulder, calming me down. "Don't worry," Luna said soothingly , "She's fine, albeit worried about thou, but fine." "Ok, I'm ready..." I was suddenly blinded by a bright light. Several weeks later.... It took days, but I've gone through nearly every book in the Canterlot archives to try and find a way home. "Sunny?" A worried voice called out. ""Yes, mom?" "It maybe time to give up; you've been up for days!" she told me, "Get some rest." As reluctant as I was, the only thing keeping me from slumber were the occasional cups of coffee. "Maybe you're right...." I started before exhaustion washed over me. Catching me in her magic, she lifted me into my bed before I passed out. Maybe, just maybe, I could live here, even with everything I've been through.
