Flutterbat wants the dragon.
Spike was helping out Applejack in finding the source of her disappearing apples. Sweet Apple Acres had been plagued by fruit loving bats, and rather then listening to Fluttershy about sacrificing a part of her crops to the winged creatures. Applejack had gotten Twilight Sparkle to use a spell to get the bats out of her farm.
Everything was going back to normal for a week until the Apple family found more apples disappearing. This time there wasn't any signs a bat was involved.
"Alright ya'll, we've got ourselves a squatter to evict. Ah don't care what it is, but ah can't allow more apples to vanish." Applejack said as she lead the team into an eerie part of her farm. The trees looked as if it was perfect for a horror movie, with Luna's moon and the mysterious fog adding in to the eerie feeling.
"Um Fluttershy, mind if I tag along with you?" Spike asked Fluttershy as he gave a terrified look. Fluttershy was shocked to hear that Spike wanted to be with her during the hunt.
"No no, I don't mind. In fact I'd like it if you want to stay with me." Fluttershy answered as she gave a warm smile.
"Well, I guess Rarity and Applejack are going with me. See you later," said Twilight as she and her teammates headed down a path.
The walk for Spike and Fluttershy was surprisingly short. Fluttershy stopped in her tacks and really got Spike spooked. Spike thought it was something he did, so he decided to ask the creamy Pegasus what's wrong.
"Uhh, Fluttershy? Are you okay?" Spike asked his shy friend. Fluttershy nodded strangely as she turned her head towards Spike.
"I'm just a little hungry Spike, I didn't eat dinner yet." Fluttershy said as she stared into Spikes eyes. Spike had noticed an apple hanging on the tree and went up to get it for her.
"Stay right there Fluttershy, I'll be back with something for you." Spike said as he gotten the fruit for the shy mare.
As Spike gave the apple to Fluttershy, he noticed that the later was salivating really fast as the apple was offered.
"Thank you Spike." Fluttershy thanked before devouring the apple faster then Celestia with her cakes. Spike stood there in shock at how quickly Fluttershy ate the fruit, and he noticed that the mare was staring into his eyes with a grin that would make Discord himself want to run like a scared school kid.
"Uhh, is something on my face?" Spike asked Fluttershy as he used his left claw to search for something on his face.
"Actually, now that you mention it... Yes there is." Fluttershy said in a creepy tone as she trotted towards him, and flashed a fang to the young drake.
Fluttershy transformed into a bat like pony with a messy pink mane and tail, three bats for her cutie mark, bat wings and ears, fangs and red eyes. She was not Fluttershy anymore, she was now Flutterbat and it looks like she wants something from Spike.
"Uh Fluttershy?" Spike sheepishly asked the bat mare. Flutterbat gave a predator like grin and licked her lips before tackling the drake.
"No, I'm not Fluttershy anymore Spike. I am Flutterbat, and I'm sure you know who is behind the apple theft." Flutterbat told Spike as she laid down on him to make any escape tricks the dragon had useless.
"Gulp, what are you going to do to me?" Spike asked the bat mare. Flutterbat didn't say anything, but what she did next caught the drake off guard. Flutterbat gave Spike a big kiss on the mouth, and the drake returned the kiss as he closed his eyes.
After the two broke from their kiss, Flutterbat had finally gotten off of Spike and stared into his eyes. Spike was both shocked and flattered that he was just kissed.
"Whoa, that was..." Spike started before being entangled in Flutterbat's mane. Spike looked into the bat pony's eyes and if he was any other creature he would panic, but he just stared at them and seen that even in this form Fluttershy always wanted to have Spike be her boyfriend.
"I always wanted to tell you I have a crush on you, but I guess the secrets out." Flutterbat said to Spike as she hid behind her mane a little.
Spike felt his cheeks becoming warm as he scratched the back of his head with his free claw.
"I have a crush on you as well, but I guess I'm shy as well." Spike told the mare. The news had perked up Flutterbat's ears as she smiled at Spike.
The two closed their eyes and gotten close for another kiss when a light hit both of them.
"There you two are. Fluttershy, your the one behind Applejack's disappearing apples?" Twilight Sparkle said before she gotten her horn ready to trap her friend.
Spike however wasn't going to allow Twilight hurt his new Marefriend, and pulled Flutterbat out of the way just before Twilight fired her horn at the bat mare.
"Spike! What do you think your doing?" Twilight snapped at her assistant for what he had done. Spike had given Twilight a 'don't you even think about touching my mare again' look.
"Twilight, there ya are! What the hay is going on here?" Applejack said before she seen the Alicorn giving Spike a dirty look.
"Fluttershy is behind the disappearance of your apples, and she's making Spike do her dirty work!" Twilight said as she pointed an accusing hoof at her now stunned friend.
"Ah see. Sorry Fluttershy, but ah can't have ya stealing mah apples." Applejack said as she trotted towards the betrayed looking Flutterbat.
The farmer had been lashed at by a furious Flutterbat and was knocked on the ground. Twilight was about to step in to help out Applejack, but Spike wasn't going to allow that to happen.
"Sorry about this Twilight," Spike silently said as he got a rag out and poured chloroform on it and used it on the Alicorn.
Twilight was wide eyed for a bit before she passed out from the scent. Flutterbat looked into Spikes eyes and a nod from the later had made the former close her eyes again.
"We have to get out of here. These guys are insane." Spike said as he looked at a sleeping Twilight.
"Hop on my back. We're leaving." Flutterbat said as she gotten down for Spike to get on her back.
