Bloody Sonata
The air around Canterlot High was calm and warm, everyone was going about their usual, but Sonata Dusk; one of the three sirens that tried and failed to take over the school was completely miserable for her partners Adagio Dazzle and Aria Blaze were just blaming her for their loss at the Battle of the Bands and against the Elements of Harmony. She was even locked out of their house and was forced to sleep out of the cold. She had never seen the two so angry at her before, of course they were angry at her many times, but not like this. And she didn’t want to look to the Mane Six for help because she was scared if they said no to her. Also every other student hates her and the others so she was all alone to try and fix things herself.
So when it was morning, she, Adagio and Aria went to school. But before her first class began, Sonata got a text from a mysterious caller that said, “Sonata… We’re here…” She wondered what that meant, but class was beginning so she had to figure it out later. Ironically after that, she started to feel like she was being watched. But all she could see was the students of Canterlot High.
When it was lunch time she sat alone with no Adagio and Aria to sit with her. She was still paranoid when a paper plane flew from the window and landed on the table she was sitting at. “Huh, where did this come from?” she asked herself. The first thing she notices was that the paper was blood stained and looked very old like it wasn’t used in over eight years. She unfolded the paper to see there was an “X” within a circle drawn on it, but it wasn’t drawn with pencil, pen, or any other writing utensil for that matter, but was drawn with red, sickening blood.
She soon felt a hand touch her shoulder and she turned to see a very tall man with no facial features whatsoever and was dressed in a black suit and tie. She was frightened by this as she fell from her seat and started coughing. The tall man quickly disappeared as many students including the human Mane Six came to help her. She was still in terror when she got to the nurse's office and was still coughing. “Is she alright?” the one called Sunset Shimmer asked the nurse.
“Yes she is just fine, but the cough though, I am not too sure of that,” the nurse replied to her.
“Okay then,” she nodded as she left the room. Sonata, still scare and coughing, looked around for she felt like that tall man would return for her. And he was, even when she was in class. She told Adagio and Aria on what was watching her.
“Why don’t you shut up Sonata,” Aria said to her, “There is nothing watching and following you.”
“I am serious girls,” Sonata cried as she coughed again, “Just look at how scared I am.”
Just then, Adagio slapped the blue siren turned human across the face as she said, “Get a hold of yourself Sonata, you are seeing things, and your coughing is just a cold that just came up.”
Sonata was in shock at what Adagio did to her face as she suddenly stopped coughing. “Wow, my coughing stopped,” she said a bit surprised, “That is strange.”
“How is that possible?” Aria exclaimed, “Colds don’t just last this quick at all.”
“I don’t have a clue,” Adagio commented being just as confused as the purple siren turned human was.
“Well, why don’t we find out tomorrow,” Sonata suggested with a yawn, “It’s getting late, so goodnight.” She went upstairs to her bedroom but when she walked inside, there sitting on her bed was a small box.
She got closer to it and on the top of the box, the words To Sonata Dusk was written. As she looked around the box and she found another symbol, but this one was different. It was drawn in the form of a cross that had its lower end and one of its arms cut from the rest of the body.
She pulled out a pair scissors from a drawer in one of the lamp stands and proceeded to cut the box open. Inside she found a video disk that was in pristine condition, a flash drive, a pair of headphones, a knife, and finally a letter to her. She started off with the letter that was folded so it could fit into the box. So she unfolded it and there was writing on the paper but it was written in blood, not ink. She began to read the it…
My dear Sonata Dusk,
If you are reading, that means he was watching, and you are waiting.
This is good for you, for I give the items to you.
The disk shall show more to only you, an item only to you.
The flash drive shall do the same, it will lead you down the path it came.
The headphones shall give you the sense, the sense of a shadow being cast.
The last, the knife, the knife shall seal your life.
The questions you may ask, shall be answered during this task.
That was all that was written on the the letter, no name of the person who sent it, nothing. Sonata then grabbed the disk and puts it into her dvd player. The screen started out all distorted, but it started to clear out with the screen becoming black now. Then the words Hello Sonata appeared on the screen in white but disappeared a couple of seconds later as the screen changed to a scene of someone holding a knife in his or her hand. Then the words We have been watching you appeared above the scene, followed by Si Since the battle of the bands.
The scene changed to a scene of her at the battle of the bands, but behind her appeared a glowing eye in the darkness. More words began popping up. And we are going to help you the first text said followed by Guide you through this path… As the scene changed again, this one to the point of someone looking down at Sonata who was sleeping. Text began to appear again saying to her this time And the old path you had taken has ended for you now.
Sonata was in shock by this as the scene turned to a grey scene and a person's silhouette with the reflection of the eyes and a frown. But we shall show you another set of text appeared This path and its secrets as the scene changed to a safe. A hand came out from the left and opened the safe door. Inside was a young boy with bandages around his face except for his nostrils, his left eye, and his mouth. And he was crying in front of the camera.
Me and many of my friends have been through horrible times text said again as they appeared on the screen. She was trying to process this video as it went on. We felt that the path was our only option, our only way. She now felt bad for these guys now. Now, a scene of a bridge as the text continued.
More shall be explained in our audio recording in the flash drive we sent you it said as the scene ended with the flash drive being placed in a computer. Then the video ended after that scene. Sonata was still trying to process all this information when she quickly checked the clock. It was eleven-thirty in the evening. She needed some sleep so she can get ready for school.
She took the dvd out, placed it, the headphones, flash drive, and the knife back in the box. She put it under her bed and went to sleep. Though she has no idea that she was still being watched. Not by that tall man from before, but entities more darker.

The next morning, Sonata took the flash drive to the school, along with the headphones. When lunch started, she quickly finished up her food and went to the library to use one of the computers. So she could listen to this audio recording these guys put inside the flash drive. It was the way that she can get more answers to her questions. When she plugged in both the flash drive and the headphones into the computer, she checked what was in the thing.
And wouldn’t you know it, there were a couple of things in the flash drive. One was a file that was titled HELLO in capital letters, the second was the audio recording that was titled More to the Path with the letters also capped, and finally there was another file that was just CP. She clicked the More to the Path file and began to play the audio.
‘Hello again, Sonata,’ a voice said to her, ‘My friend told all he could to you, and now I am going to fill in the blanks for you.’ She began to listen very carefully.
‘Why we are watching you is because you have the heart of what many of us used to be,’ the voice explained to her, ‘And we want you to join us.’ Sonata felt a little uneasy with this now, but continued to listen anyway. ‘All we need you to do, is to find some people that were witnesses to our ways,’ the voice said to her, ‘Once you find and bring them to us. The HELLO will give you images of who these people are and where we want you to bring them.’
‘Really?’ Sonata thought to herself curiously.
‘Oh, and one more thing,’ the voice said before she was about to check the HELLO file, ‘A friend of mine couldn’t resist putting in an image in this flash drive and that’s why the CP file is there for you.’ And that was where the audio ended.
‘I think I’ll check the CP file first and then check the HELLO file,’ Sonata thought as she clicked the CP file. In the file, a whole bunch of numbers appeared to take the form of an image of someone that was wearing a dress and had tentacles coming from her back. She was also waving at her.
“Okay,” she whispered to herself feeling shaken; first the tall man with no face appears beside her, then the box, and now this, “Let’s see what are these guys they want me to find.” She clicked the HELLO file as four images with three familiar people she fought against in the Battle of the Bands. Starting with Trixie, then came Heath Burns, and finally Captain Planet. The last image which the voice said was a map to where she was to meet the owner of the voice and his or her friends. It lead to the forest outside of the city.
She printed out the pictures and the map so that she can remember them. She planned to bring each witness to the forest one by one. She started off with Trixie, who was at the her class. She’s plotting to humiliate Twilight Sparkle again from what she could remember. So she was easy to get through.
She planned to catch her after school and take her too the forest. She sent a text to Trixie saying that she wanted to meet her on the field alone so that she could apologize to her. Being a little suspicious though, Trixie agreed to meet Sonata there. The siren turned human then went to her next class. And it was a good while until school ended.
Trixie was soon waiting for Sonata to appear, but she was nowhere to be seen. At the hour mark, she was starting to think that Sonata was lying to her. And she was about to leave the area, when she was suddenly knocked out. Who knocked her out was none other than Sonata herself. She then took Trixie to the forest.
When she made it to the forest, she looked around while she walked deeper into it. “Hello?” Sonata called, “Anyone here?” She soon began to feel like she was being watched again. She placed Trixie down and was about to leave when she turned to see the tall man from before. She fell on her rear as she began coughing again.
‘Do not worry Sonata Dusk, we are not going to hurt you,’ a voice said to her within her head. She was surprised by this.
“That is right Sonata,” a familiar voice said to her as she turned to see the boy with the bandages, he was accompanied with a teenage girl with a mark, and the man with the eyes and frown.
“We are not here for you my dear,” another voice said as the siren turned human looked to her left and saw that glowing eye from the dvd. And out of the darkness comes a hooded man with a blue mask that had yellow teeth painted on it and blood coming out of the darkness of his hood.
“Who...Who are you guys?” the siren turned human asked them.
“We are the ones like you,” the hooded and masked man replied to her, “Souls that are both lost and no longer part of human society.”
‘I am the Slender Man,” the tall, faceless man explained.
“I am Il diavolo degli Assassini,” the hooded and masked man greeted to her.
“We are the Slender Man’s Proxies,” the bandaged boy said, “My name is Norman.”
“You can call me Nemesis,” the masked teenage girl greeted.
“They call me Hoodie,” the hooded man said.
“There are also independent beings like your’s truly,” Il diavolo said. Purple fumes started to come out from his glowing eye.
“But why me?” Sonata asked them.
“You see Sonata, Il diavolo here has been watching you ever since the Battle of the Bands had began,” another voice said to her, “But he seemed to be impressed that you can take more abuse from your former partners and their insults than any of us could.” And from behind a bush came a female scarecrow holding a scythe in her right hand.
“But I knew it was almost time before you broke,” he joined in the conversation, “And now it’s time you joined us.” Sonata was just at a loss of words and in complete terror at the same time. But she soon found the guts to speak.
“I-I don’t know,” she said to them.
“I understand,” Il diavolo nodded, “But you shall see in time, that you won’t need your so called partners anymore.” He then stepped back into the shadows his glowing eye fading away. Then the female scarecrow disappeared. Followed by the Slender Man with no trace of him being there. And finally, his Proxies and Trixie were the last ones the vanish into thin air.
Sonata tried to comprehend on what she just saw. But she then lied down having a very rough day. She hoped that she could have things figured out after a good night's sleep. But when she woke up from her sleep, she was no longer in the forest, but in her bedroom. “It… It must have been a dream,” she said to herself.
She got out of her bed when she saw a letter on her lamp stand. Sonata took a look at it and it was written in blood.
Hello again Sonata,
I brought you back to your room while you were asleep. You still have a job to do. And we shall be watching you as you complete it. But you are getting closer to the end of the path. All you need to do is finish your task.
‘So it really wasn’t a dream!’ she thought to herself, ‘No, n-no, they can’t be real, it has to be a dream.’
“Sonata, breakfast!” Adagio yelled to her from downstairs. She stood up from her bed and went down to have her breakfast. After that she went to school still thinking that she must be imagining things. But she never stopped getting the feeling that was constantly being watched.
The next day, Sonata was starting to get her paranoia back. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned to see what she thought was the Slender Man. She wasn’t dreaming as she remember that she had the knife. She swung it at the Slender Man, but he dodged every single swing. But then he got stabbed in the back by the siren turned human and fell to the ground.
Sonata panted with relief, but then her relief was soon turned to horror. She looked at the body and found out that it was actually Captain Planet that he killed. ‘No!’ she cried in her thoughts, ‘What have I done!?’ She pulled the body of Planet outside. but when she got into the empty sports field, she bumped into someone.
She turned to look at who was behind her and to her shock it was Il diavolo degli Assassini. “Hello there my dear,” he said to her.
She was in a state of shock as she fell on her rear. “Thank you for killing my target for me,” he thanked her as he grabbed Planet’s body and put it over his shoulder. He held out his hand for her.
She nervously took it as he helped her up from the ground. “I wish that I can stay and talk, but you have school and a job to do,” he said to her.
“But… But…” she stuttered to him.
“We shall meet again,” Il diavolo said as she watched him vanish into thin air. She couldn’t believe what she had done, but she had the blood on her hands to prove it.
She was in tears as she got to her knees. She had murdered a creature for the first time and she couldn’t do a thing stop herself. This was something she couldn’t tell anyone in this city even her partners. But this was just the beginning of the end for her assignment for she went in and killed Heath Burns at an alleyway. Shortly after she killed him, the female scarecrow came to collect her body.
When she returned home, she tried to rush into the bathroom to clean her blood stained hands. But she was soon confronted by Adagio Dazzle and Aria Blaze. Their faces had the look of anger and hate. “G-girls!” she said in surprise, “Uh - what’s been happening?”
“These,” Adagio growled showing Sonata the letters she was given to her.
“I - but I can explain!” she cried to them.
“No, you had our chance Sonata!” Aria roared as she punched and scratched their former partner to ground. But when she scratched her the tenth time, it nearly took Sonata’s left eye out but left it dangling down the side of her head. The blue siren’s knife fell out of her pocket and Aira saw this. She took it and had struck Sonata’s left eye socket cutting the eye off.
When they thought that she was finally dead, they threw her body out in a nearby dumpster. After that, they went back to their normal life without trouble. They were also glad that Sonata was gone because she had been trouble to them. However, when they woke up from their sleep, they found out they were tied to the wall. They tried to break free from them.
“Oh, don’t try to get loose girls,” a familiar voice said to them, “There is no point in it.” The two were in a state of shock on whose voice it was. Out of the darkness came Sonata without her left eye, a scratch on her face, her hair was a mess, and her clothes were dirty.
“S-s-s-Sonata?” Aria exclaimed in horror.
“Yes Aria, it’s me,” she replied to her, “And I am very much alive.”
“But how is this possible?” Adagio asked, “We saw you take your last breathe.”
“To be honest with you, I also thought it was my final breath,” Sonata told them, “But then I began to breathe again thanks to one of my friends.” She began to caress Aria’s left cheek as she continued to explain about her reappearance. “Now that he and the others showed me down the path, i can get my revenge on the students of Canterlot High. But sadly you won’t get that taste of payback.”
She took her fingers that she had on Aria’s face and used her new filed nails to claw the purple siren turned human’s left eye. “But tell me, do you think I am funny?” she asked them.
“Go to Tartarus!” Adagio screamed at her former partner.
“Wrong answer Adagio,” she said to her taking one of her sharpened fingernails and taking one of Adagio’s eyes out. Blood began to pour out of the socket her was as she screamed in pain.
Sonata tore her eyeball out of its socket. The orange siren turned human screamed again from her eyeball being ripped out. The scar on Aria’s left eye began to bleed a little. She couldn’t see with that eye anymore and was now scared stiff. She began to cry, but the tears of her left eye bond with her blood.
“Aw, are you crying Aria?” Sonata asked her with a cute and sinister expression. She took her left hand on her chin as she got closer to the tormented siren turned human. Aria opened her right eye, but left her other eye closed. Sonata chuckled, “You will have to wait your turn.” The former member of the Dazzlings then turned back to Adagio.
She began to clawing her way into her stomach, blood splashing on Sonata’s face, the floor and walls around them. It took the mad siren turned human two minutes, but she had finally tore into Adagio’s stomach. She started to pull out her organs one by one. She wanted to make her former partner's pain to last for a good while. But she knew that Adagio’s time was almost done.
And with many of her organs and much of her blood gone, Adagio was close to dying. It was the removal of her kidneys that caused her to drop her head and finally succumbing to the clutches of death. Sonata let out a sinister laugh to her success. Aria was in horror and in complete guilt, why did they kill her in the first place? They couldn’t change the past now, it was the fate that they chose.
