Spike strolled to Rarity's boutique. He had been asked to go there earlier as she had something to tell him. "Oh, hopefully she says she wants to be my marefriend," Spike hoped. If that was the case Spike would say yes and be jumping for joy.

He reached the door and knocked. "Hello? Rarity?" He called.

"Oh Spike. Come on in," Rarity replied.

Spike walked into the front room. Everywhere he looked there were mannequins dressed in silk, fake fur and who knows what else. He saw Rarity lounging on a purple leather sofa, which was decorated in amethysts and diamonds. She herself wore a lavender purple dress and a amethyst necklace with matching ear-rings. Rarity turned to look at him. Her brilliant blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight like diamonds.

Suddenly feeling very under dressed he smiled shyly. "Yes Rarity?" He asked,"you wanted me."

" Yes Spike," Rarity started, looking slightly uncomfortable,"I wanted to talk to you about your crush."

"You know about that?" Spike blushed.

"Yes Spike," she frowned, "okay you should be ready for this. Spike I don't love you."

"What!" He screamed, "you don't even like me?"

"No!" She assured him, "I like you as a friend and maybe a little brother, but this can't happen between us."

"Why?!" Spike asked.

"Because look at you and look at me. Your a baby dragon Spike, so it can't work. I'm not saying I can't love you that way because your a dragon. It's just I'm a lot older than you. Maybe you should find someone your own age."

Spike finally understood and his eyes welled up with tears." I know. I just-" he couldn't finish because he started to cry.

"Don't cry Spike," Rarity dabbed at her own eyes, "I hate seeing you cry. I also know what it's like to have a crush on someone and know it will never happen."

"What?" He looked up, tears still running down his face.

Rarity stood up and helped him back to his feet. "Spike I need you to promise to never ever tell anyone what I am about to say."

"Okay" Spike answered.

Rarity took a deep breath."I have a crush on Rainbow Dash!"

"You do!?" Spike exclaimed. He had never guessed.

"Yes, but it can never work because she's a girl and I don't think she swings that way."

"Seriously! Rainbow is a walking, talking, gay stereotype!" He gushed.

"I don't like using stereotypes to judge people. You know that," she sighed.

"I guess, but you should send her a letter, or at least tell Pinkie," Spike rationalized.

"Why Pinkie?" Rarity asked.

"Um, she is the love expert in town."

"Fine," she sighed again.

Secret Admirers

Twilight was carefully studying the potion Rainbow had asked her to analyse. She had received it from a unknown sender. Twilight could not figure out what it was. Ah Ha! She could use the break potion spell to figure out the ingredients. All she had to do then was to search it up in one of her books.

She cast the spell, repeating it so that it would work with such a tricky potion. After a puff of smoke and a buzzing sound she could see the ingredients.

The list included, three grey feathers, a ruby, a base potion, a tuft of cloud and two locks of hair. One was brilliant red, obviously Rainbows , but the other was dark purple. Confusing.

"Knock, knock, knock," the three knocks knocked her out of her thoughts. She ran to the door and opened it to see a figure running away." Hmm" Twilight wondered who it could've been. I could be anyone.

A piece of white paper caught her eye. Twilight stared down and realized it was an envelope. An envelope with a heart seal. Twilight picked it up and turned it over with her magic. It said "Dear Spike. From Your Secret Admirer," She stared at it for a second before realizing she should tell Spike.

"Spike!" She yelled to him. "There's a letter for you."

"Coming," he grumbled, annoyed at being woken up from his afternoon nap. He grabbed it out of her magic and walked upstairs, leaving Twilight wondering what it meant.

Dear Spike,

I love you (Yes in the right way) and I think I am the best pony to date you.
You are amazing and you should never forget. I am happy that you have now got your head out of the clouds and now will actually notice me.
Anyway what happened between you and Rarity. I thought you liked her. Now you have been acting down so I would like to invite you to meet me at the lake at dusk for a moonlit picnic. Maybe we could get to know each other a bit more.

From your Secret Admirer

Spike put down the letter. He couldn't go. Twilight wouldn't let him outside the house alone after dark. But how was he going to tell them. He didn't even have their address. But how did they have his.

"Sweetie Bell!" Rarity yelled," Have you been looking through my drawers again?"

"Yes," Sweetie Bell smiled shyly,"I just wanted to know what was going on. You have been keeping to yourself lately and you don't normally do that and I just wanted to see what was up with you and be a good sister!" She started to tear up as she handed Rarity a picture.

"Oh," she stared at the picture. It was a picture of Rainbow Dash in her Gala dress. She looked amazing. Her hair complemented the black of the bodice and the beautiful dark blue skirt. Pity the original picture was of Soarin asking her to dance."Oh Sweetie. You can't just go into peoples drawers without them allowing it. Actually it is rude to even consider going through someones drawers."

"Well sorry sis," Sweetie sighed, "anyway I wanted you to send this," she said as the young filly pressed a envelope into her hand.

She had been doing this for a while now. Rarity couldn't imagine what was inside. "Sweetie. You should send it yourself. I can't keep doing it for you. People will get suspicious. You should ask Derpy to do it. She won't question it so you don't have to tell her what it is."

"Ok!" Sweetie Bell suddenly exclaimed. She set of to see the grey pegasus, keeping the letter hidden the whole time.

"Derpy!" Sweetie exclaimed as she saw Derpy putting a package in Pinkie Pies mailbox, "what is that?"

"Oh this is a present from someone to Pinkie Pie," she says closing her mail bag," what are you doing here?"

"Well I was actually looking for you,"

" Why?" questioned Derpy.

"Can you post this?" Sweetie Bell asked, "No questions asked."

"Okay!" the gray mare agreed.

"Spike, where are you going?" Twilight asked.

"Oh I just wanted to see if the person I was supposed to meet a few days ago got the message I sent them," Spike called.

"Who is this person?" She questioned.

"I don't know? All the letter said was ' From your Secret Admirer'," he replied.

"Okay," called Twilight, " but be back before sundown!" she finished as Spike ran of.

"Hmm," Spike scratched his chin, "no pony here."

A letter was sitting on the bank, just waiting to be pushed into the water. He grabbed it smiling to himself as he recognized the pink heart in the center.

" Who could this be from?" Wondered Spike. He turned it over and saw his name. Opening the envelope, Spike muttered to himself how great he was.

"Dear Spike

I wish you had come to the picnic. I had planned on bringing a lot but when I checked at five you still weren't here. I decided to wait till another day. Can you please meet me tonight and I have had someone tip off Twilight about this. I really want you to come and the picnic won't be as good the longer you leave it.

Please come. Love your Secret Admirer."
