Chapter 1: Adult Shy says bye bye

It was a normal day in Equestria, interrupted only by the sobbing coming from a familiar pegasus' home in the sky...

"Hey now, I'm sure you can find a way to fix this, right?" Rainbow Dash asked as she comforted her marefriend Twilight. They had been together for almost a year, and only their dear friend Fluttershy knew. It seemed now that she wouldn't be telling anypony anytime soon. From the center of Rainbow's living room came (one) of the sources of the sobbing, for there sat a small foal with a yellow coat and pastel pink hair, and if you were lucky enough to catch her eyes through her tantrum, you would see the most beautiful turquoise eyes. And no more than four feet away, sitting on the couch, were Twilight and Rainbow Dash, Rainbow silently watching, Twilight throwing just as much of a fit as Fluttershy.

Twilight threw her front hooves around Rainbow Dash sobbing into her shoulder, soaking her coat with tears. In response, Rainbow Dash wrapped her wings around Twilight in an attempt to comfort her. Twilight was greatly distressed, that much was clear, and Rainbow Dash could do nothing but stroke her mane with her hooves and hope Twilight calms down. Rainbow Dash couldn't remember the last time she had seen Twilight this upset about anything, but it was understandable, her best friend had just been regressed to a foal and was unable to stop crying. Rainbow Dash was surprised at her own reaction, it seemed as if she didn't care, which was not true, she just wasn't able to fully express the way she felt.

"Don't you see how much of a problem this can cause?" Twilight managed between sobs, "The Elements are no longer together!" She finished her last sentence with a large gasp for air. Rainbow Dash could think of nothing encouraging to say it seemed to her, Twilight, however, didn't seem to notice. Fluttershy still didn't seem to understand what was happening around her, and the two mares were not having any luck with finding Fluttershy's reason to throw such a fit. Rainbow Dash decided to at least try and say something to Twilight in order to cheer her up.

"C'mon,Twi. Don't be sad, it's not your fau-"

"Of course it's my fault! I knew that time turning spell was too much for me, I got too arrogant and look what happened!" Twilight interrupted. As Fluttershy continued to cry, Twilight was trying to clear her head just enough to think of any possible solutions to revert Fluttershy back to her old self. While this was going on, Rainbow Dash's eyes lit up with excitement as she thought of a way to help Twilight.

"Twilight!" she cried, "I know what we can do!" She then proceeded to explain how maybe if Twilight performed the spell backwards, it would reverse the spell on Fluttershy. To Twilight it didn't seem very logical and there were too many flaws, like there was no way to perform a spell in reverse, and even if she could the effects it might have on Fluttershy are unknown.

"I-I guess that might work," she lied. Wiping away tears, Twilight thought about how much sense that didn't make, but she would try it, just to satisfy Rainbow Dash, who seemed to be acting tough and taking the lead so Twilight would feel better. Rainbow Dash was in all actuality just pleased with herself for coming up with a plan she believed to be foolproof. As Twilight was preparing the spell, Rainbow Dash was sitting on the couch, watching nervously, hoping for her idea to work.

Once she was a good enough distance from the two other ponies, she aimed her horn at the foal in the middle of the room, quickly thinking of better solutions. Running out of time, she mentally prepared herself for the worst, thinking nothing of the good things that might happen. She steadied herself as she felt her horn begin to glow, and she recognized the tugging sensation on her head from the magic being released.

All Rainbow Dash saw was a blinding flash of purple light, for Twilight, she experienced something entirely different...

Chapter 2: Two foals and the finishing touches

When the light had faded, Fluttershy was still a foal, and Twilight was no where to be seen. Rainbow Dash could still hear a foal crying, but when she looked at Fluttershy, she was merely sniffling, her head cocked to the side. When Rainbow Dash turned her head to where Twilight stood, her ears perked up and her eyes widened. The place where Twilight had been just moments ago, was now occupied by a small purple foal with pink and purple hair, crying loudly.

Rainbow Dash stared in shock, her mind still processing the events. After about a minute the initial shock went away and she was able to think more clearly. She was having trouble comprehending the situation and what to do next. She didn't expect her marefriend to be turned into a foal and was completely unprepared. First she realized she was starting to get a headache and decided to once again comfort Twilight.

She didn't have much experience with foals, and at the moment thought to herself how nice it would be if Pinkie Pie were there to help. Rainbow Dash carefully picked up the screaming Twilight, and tried patting her back to calm her. She then remembered that when she was young, she had a pacifier that would always help her relax. She used that pacifier more than she would admit, and used it up to an age she would never reveal. In fact, she still knew where it was and believed it might calm Twilight down.

Still carrying Twilight, she left to find the pacifier, searching quickly so she could return and keep an eye on Fluttershy. After locating the cyan pacifier, she popped it into Twilight's mouth as she found her way back to Fluttershy, who was now interested in her own hoof and how it tasted. Twilight responded my quieting down almost instantly as her eyes widened. She seemed shocked for a second before coming to her senses and spitting the pacifier out.

"What was dat fow?" Twilight asked angrily, surprising Rainbow Dash, who looked quite startled. She tried to stammer out a response to no avail. Twilight looked a little surprised herself, but decided that would be solved later and turned her attention to the pegasus holding her. Twilight had just noticed how small she was now compared to her partner, and how everything else seemed bigger as well, which frightened her. She also noted that besides the fact that she could talk, she sounded very childish, and began to wonder why she was crying earlier. She mainly focused on the fact that she was able to talk, despite knowing full well she was a foal. That much was obvious, she had figured that out when she was being carried by Rainbow Dash and discovered she had lost her cutie mark and found her wings to be quite weak.

Rainbow Dash was beginning to understand what was happening and managed to say in a shaky voice, "Y-you're a foal," which in turn caused Twilight to facehoof. "And F-Fluttershy is a foal," she continued, pointing out the obvious in her state of bewilderment.

Twilight was about to speak up when she was cut short by a loud crying from Fluttershy, who now appeared to be sitting in a puddle of urine. Twilight put her hooves over her ears as the crying intensified.

Rainbow Dash was dealing so much right now she wasn't sure what to do. She set Twilight on the couch and moved over to Fluttershy and lifted her off the ground, still screaming and crying. She brought the foal over to the sink and gently set her down inside, grabbing a towel from a nearby closet and returning to the puddle. Twilight was preoccupied in thinking of possible explanations for what had happened. As Rainbow Dash cleaned up the mess, Twilight came to the only logical conclusion.

"When I did the speww backwawds," she started slowly in her childish voice, "it must have litewally gone back onto me." She finished with a slight lisp, making Rainbow Dash giggle softly at how cute she sounded. Twilight didn't notice and proceeded to whimper as she realized she was now unable to perform magic to turn her and Fluttershy back to their normal ages.

Rainbow Dash went back into the kitchen and cleaned Fluttershy, who had calmed down just enough to allow herself to be cleaned. After she was dried off, she was carried into the living room and given the pacifier, which relaxed her even further.

Twilight suddenly sat upright. "If I used da same speww on Fwuttewshy," she began, "shouldn't she be abwe to talk?" Twilight glanced at Fluttershy who now seemed to be blushing and looking away. Rainbow Dash thought about it and realized she was right. Fluttershy was trying to make herself invisible and worm her way down into Rainbow Dash's hooves even further it appeared. She then tried to hide behind her tail, but the two girls continued to stare.

Fluttershy finally averted her gaze and slowly began in the same childish voice as Twilight, "I um... didn't want to scawe you...."

"I knew it!" Twilight shouted triumphantly, scaring Fluttershy with the sudden loud noise. As Twilight was doing a little victory dance (which Rainbow Dash couldn't help but giggle at), Rainbow Dash came to terms with the fact that she was now in charge of these two foals and that wasn't going to change as long as Twilight couldn't use magic.

"Don't get too excited," Rainbow Dash sighed, "we're going to have to go to the store I guess...."
