Happiness Leads To Heartbreak

"Alright, Spike. You gotta look you're best for the date with Rarity tonight."

The young drake looked himself over in the mirror. He sported a small bow tie, a suit jacket, her favorite chocolates, and her favorite flowers.

"Don't forget the main present, Spike" Twilight said, using her magic to adjust his tie.

"Oh right! Can't forget that!" He exclaimed, rushing over to his pillow.

He pulled a small, blue box out from under it. He opened it, revealing the stunning necklace he'd made just for her. He'd spent an entire week crafting this beauty. But, it was worth every second. It was going around the neck of the greatest beauty. His marefriend, Rarity.

"You better be going, Spike. It's already 6:45" Twilight informed.

In a flash, Spike disappeared out the door, rushing to the Carousel Boutique. Ponies waved and greeted him. But with his full claws, he could only nod or smile in response. After what seemed an eternity, he reached the front door, panting and gasping. He lifted his claw to knock, but the door opened before he could.

"Spikey wikey! How are you this evening?" That beautiful voice greeted.

"J-Just fine, Rarity. Even better seeing you" He replied, smiling up at her.

"Aww! You're just a little charmer!" Rarity giggled, kissing his cheek.

Spike's scales quickly turned pink at this loving gesture. He slowly followed the object of his affections inside. Rarity had him sit on the couch while she took the gifts from him.

"So, what did you bring for me this time? Ah! Tulips, and truffles. My favorite! But, what's this one?" She asked, holding the box in the air with her magic.

"I-I made it for you. I hope you like it" Spike replied, twiddling his claws.

Rarity slowly opened the lid of it, gasping in awe. The precious stones that gleaned back at her, were almost to gorgeous to be real. She slowly slid her hoof across the patterned stones. They had been placed together perfectly to spell out the name, ' Rarity.'

"O-Oh Spike. This is...unbelievable. It's the most amazing gift anypony has ever given me" She whispered, tears filling her eyes.

"I'm so glad you like it. I was afraid you-" Spike's reply was cut off, as Rarity slammed the box shut with her magic.

"Damn you, Spike! Why'd you have to make this so much more difficult!?" Rarity screeched, glaring at him with tear filled eyes.

Spike was shocked by her sudden outburst. Had he done something wrong? What was she talking about? In answer to that question, Rarity looked at him with guilt filled eyes.

"I'm pregnant, Spike. I have been f-for two weeks now. It's...m-my lover's foal. Fancypants to be exact" She explained, wiping her tears with a hoof.

Spike's eyes widened in disbelief and shock. She couldn't have..she wouldn't. As reality sunk in, you could almost hear the sound of his heart shattering. That, and him fleeing out the door as fast as he could. Tears blurred his vision, but he didn't care. He wouldn't care if he'd just drop dead. Rarity had always given his life a meaning, a purpose. Life had no meaning anymore. And it never would again. Right?

Rarity watched him disappear, her own eyes bloodshot. She silently uttered the one thing she hadn't, and knew she'd probably never get to say.

"I'm s-sorry. I'm so, so sorry" She whispered, breaking down sobbing.

"This is it! He's gonna propose, I just know it!" Cloudchaser exclaimed, brushing her mane.

"I wouldn't be too cocky if I were you" Flitter, her younger sister, replied.

"Oh please! You're just jealous because Thunderlane loves me" Cloudchaser said, sticking out her tongue.

Flitter rolled her eyes, hearing a knock at the door. Her sister squealed as she zoomed past her, reaching the bottom step in two seconds. She cleared her throat, did her best to act calm, and opened the door.

"Good evening, my dear" Thunerlane greeted in that smooth tone that made her swoon.

"Hey, Thundey. Ready for our date this evening?" Cloudchaser asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be" He replied, walking in. He then shyly handed her the roses he'd brought.

"Oh thank you, Thundy. Their beautiful. I'll go put them in a vase right now" She said, trotting off to the basement.

Cloudchaser searched around for a bit, before finding her favorite vase. She picked it up in her hooves, flying back up the stairs. She'd been making her way back into the kitchen, when she overheard Flitter and Thunderlane talking, and decide to lsiten

"When are you gonna tell her? She can't keep thinking you love her forever" Flitter whisper/shouted.

"I plan on telling her tonight. I just..couldn't do it right away. I mean, it's not easy telling a mare you never really loved her you know" Thunderlane replied, pacing back and forth.

"I'm starting to think you actually do love her" Flitter growled, looking away.

"Of course not, Flitty. You know I love you. I did like Cloudchaser before but...it faded once I met you."

Thunderlane walked over, pushing up Flitter's chin with his hoof. He gave her a reassuring smile, which she returned. The two leaned towards each other slowly, and kissed. But, the kiss was short lived. It was interrupted by a loud shattering sound.

Cloudchaser stood at the end of the hallway, tears burning her eyes. She'd dropped the roses, and the vase on the floor, causing it to shatter to millions of pieces. Much like her heart.

"Cloudy, please don't freak out" Flitter squeaked.

Cloudchaser said nothing. She merely turned around, and flew out the nearest window. Tears were pouring out of her eyes as she flew in to the night sky, not knowing where she was headed. Frankly, she didn't give a damn.

All she wanted right now, was to curl in a hole and die. She wanted to tear her heart out of her chest and burn it. To be honest, it was already burning. Burning with sorrow, anger, betrayal, and heartbreak. Cloudchaser decided then and there, that burning would never stop. Those flames in her heart would burn till the day she died. Unless...somepony came along with a fire extinguisher and put it out. But who was she kidding? Nopony would, or could put it out. Right?

Hatred, Lust, And More Heartbreak

"Spike, get up. It's 11:42 in the morning. You need to get up. Now" Twilight commanded.

Spike merely groaned in response. He sounded something like a zombie. In fact, that's exactly what he felt like. He was dead on the inside, and out.

"Cant I just stay in bed forever? My bed is the only one that understands me" He moaned, burying himself further into the blankets.

"1. No you can't. 2. The bed needs a break from your heavy body laying on it. Now, get up" She replied, pulling the blankets off him with her magic. She gasped at the sight of him. "Spike what's wrong with you? Your eyes are red, not to mention your fangs are....longer."

Spike understood the red yes part. He'd cried himself to sleep during the night. But, longer fangs? What was that supposed to mean? He got up, and slowly walked to the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, he noticed she was right. His fangs had...grown slightly. But, why?

"Odd. I've never had that happened before" Spike said.

"I've never seen that happen before either. Oh well, maybe you're having a growth spurt. Anyway, how'd your date with Raity go?"

Spike instantly winced at that question. His memories of last night came flooding back. And suddenly, something filled up in his chest. It built up until it began spreading throughout the rest of him. His blood was boiling hotter than ever before. He soon realized what was causing it. Hatred. Hatred for ever chasing after Rarity. Hatred for Fancypants taking her away from him. Hatred for being a Drgaon all together. Hatred...for Rarity.

"Spike! Spike, snap out of it!" Twilight exclaimed.

Spike shook his head, returning to reality. He noticed Twilight huddling in the corner, shaking with...fear. What was she scared of?

"Twi, what's wrong?" He asked, confused.

"Y-You're eyes turned red, and you started growling and s-snapping at me. And you k-kept saying Rarity's name" She replied, pointing a shaking hoof at him.

He did..what?! He hadn't even noticed! He couldn't possibly have done something like that! There was no way. Maybe...he needed to take a walk. Yes, of course. A walk would help him.

"I...need some time alone, Twilight. I'll be fine later. I'll do today's chores tomorrow. I promise. I just, need a break right now" Spike said, walking down the steps.

Twilight watched him disappear out the caslte doors. What...was that? Why had he turned so violent, been saying Rarity's name, and not even known he did it?

"I should write to Celestia about this. Maybe she'll have an answer" Twilight said to herself, flying to her desk.

Pulling out some parchment paper and a quil, Twilight began writing a letter to Celestia. Once finished, she used a spell to send the letter to Celestia. Seeing as Spike was unable to. A few moments later, another letter came magically flying up to her. Twilight opened it, reading it quickly. Her eyes widened in horror, and she read it again at least fifty times. Her eyes began overflowing with tears, as she dropped the letter.

"N-No. I'm..not r-ready. It can't h-happen. It can't!" Twilight screamed at the ceiling.

She bowed her head, sobbing quietly. She didn't want it to happen. But, she knew it had to.

***

Spike walked down the road, kicking a stone in front of himself. Ponies didn't bother to greet him. They could all tell he wasn't in the mood for greetings. Even a parasprite wouldn't dare to annoy him with the scowl he had on his face.

Spike walked all the way to the park, deciding to rest. He was still tired at the moment. Spike sat down on the grass, leaning against a tree. He yawned and began to take a nap. He felt something wet hit his head, but ignored it. It happened again, and Spike frowned. Before he knew it, he was being drenched in water.

Spike growled and stood up, moving away. He looked up at the sky, noticing a lone cloud, rain pouring from it. On it, sat a light purple Pegasus, crying her eyes out. She had a white and silver looking mane. She had her wings wrapped around herself as she sobbed. Spike picked up a pebble, tossing it at her. She sniffed and turned around.

"W-What!? Can't you see I'm b-busy!?" She screeched, glaring at him with bloodshot eyes.

"Woah, woah. Calm down. I just want to know why you're crying" Spike replied, cocking his head to the side.

"Why should you care?" She huffed, sitting down on the cloud.

Spike was just about to answer that question, when he stopped. The mare's looks had caught his attention. Her mane seemed to glisten in the afternoon sun. Her eyes sparkled, not because of the tears. They were naturally that way. Her coat was nicely brushed, and gleamed like the rest of her. She was...gorgeous.

Spike soon found himself hypnotized by this..gorgeous creature. Something about her was more attractive than even Rarity. A strange craving filled his body. A bit like the hatred had earlier. This was a craving he only got when he found a gem he was gonna eat. He was always filled with desire and a longing to eat it. But, food was not the object of this craving now. It was a beautiful mare. Only one thought filled his mind.

"I've have to have her." This ran through his mind more than once. Something within encouraged the thought and craving further. And it soon hit him he wasn't craving her looks. He was craving...Her.

"Hello? Anypony home?" Cloudchaser asked, waving a hoof in front of his face.

The dumb Dragon had been staring at her for at least five minutes now. He had the stupidest look on his face. Not to mention, he was drooling a little. She nudged him, looking for any sort of raction. He ended up grabbing hold of her hoof startling her. She tried to pull away, but he tightened his grip. Not to mention, his eyes turned red.

"H-Hey, let go. That kinda hurts" Cloudchaser said, trying to pull away.

He growled at her resistance, making her gasp. She noticed his fangs grow somewhat longer, and his size increase. In panic, and not knowing what else to do, she smacked him upside the head. "In Luna's name snap out of it!"

"Ouch! Huh? What happened?" Spike asked, looking around.

"You started talking to me, froze and wouldn't stop staring at me, then grabbed me and almost wouldn't let go" She replied.

"Huh? I have no clue what you're taking about. Anyway, why were you crying?"

That was so strange. Why would he do that only a moment ago, then act like nothing happens? Did he, not know what he was doing? And even so, what had he been doing? It was too many questions for Cloudchaser to contemplate.

"Look, I have a bit of a migraine now. How about.. we talk tomorrow? Sound fair?" She asked, extending a hoof.

"Um..sure. But, we'll have to make it evening. I'll have a lot of chores to do" He replied, shaking her hoof. "By the way, what's you're name?"

"Cloudchaser. You?"

"Spike."

"Nice to meet you, Spike. It was...interesting. Well, gotta go. Bye!"

And with that, she spread her wings, and took off. Spike watched her disappear into the clouds, waving a claw. He couldn't help but recall the way her hips moved when she'd turned around to leave. It filled him with..lust. He'd never experienced that with Rarity before. And to be honest...he didn't care.

"I WILL make that mare mine. And I look forward to it" Spike growled in a deep voice, his eyes flashing red again for a second

He then made his way back home, licking his fangs. Cloudchaser never left his mind once as he walked up the steps, opening the castle door. He made his way inside, noticing Twilight at the kitchen table.

"What's up, Twi?" He asked, sitting beside her.

She lifted her head, revealing her tear stained cheeks and bloodshot eyes. It startled Spike to see her like this. What could possibly be wrong?

"I s-sent a letter to Celestia about your out burst earlier. S-She replied" Twilight muttered, looking miserable.

"And? What'd she say?" Spike inquired.

"You have to leave Ponyville. Forever."

Loss Of Control

View Online

Spike's heart skipped a few beats. He was frozen solid for what seemed an eternity. Celestia..wanted him to leave? Forever?

"W-Why?" He weakly asked, tears threatening to spill.

"Its hard to explain. But, apparently, Dragons can be more docile, or more violent depending on themselves and their surroundings. You've always been extremely docile and kind. Accept, for when it comes to one pony. You'd do anything to protect Rarity. Celestia said, that she knew you'd become this way once you hit a certain age. And, if anything happened in your relationship with Rarity. You're a very sensitive Dragon, Spike. That in itself, makes you..dangerous" Twilight explained, hating every moment of this.

"Mom thinks I'm...dangerous?" Spike said in shock

"She doesn't think so. But, everypony else will once you get increasingly violent. You can't remember going off at me, can you?"

"No."

"Exaclty. You can't control it. At least, not yet. Until you learn how, you have to leave Ponyville, and live somewhere far away. Preferably, a distant part of the Griffin Kingdom."

"The Griffin Kingodm!? Twilight, that's suicide!" Spike exclaimed.

"This is Celestia's orders. You have no choice. You either leave yourself, or be forced out. I don't want this just as much as you don't. If not more so. But, this was always gonna happen. I knew this day would have to come but...I did e-everything to make it not. I failed you. I'm s-so sorry, Spike!" Twilight wailed, beginning to sob.

Spike out his arm around her, doing his best to offer at least a little comfort. But, how could he when he was on the verge of sobbing too? Ponyville had become his home. Everything about it he loved and adored. And now, he was being forced to leave it all behind.

"I-I guess I b-better start packing" Spike stuttered, slowly moving up to his room.

Twilight watched him, wiping away her tears. Why did fate have to be so cruel? She rested her chin on her hooves, trying to think of a worse situation she'd been in. There was none. Even the battle of Tirek hadn't been as painful as this!

As Twilight was trying to think of any possible way to cheer up, a huge explosion shook the castle. Twilight tumbled out of her chair, hitting her jaw on the floor. She groaned a little in pain, standing back up.

"What in Celestia's name was that?" She wondered.

Her thoughts quickly traveled to Spike, and she ran up the steps. She silently begged for him to still be in his room. But, her hopes were unfounded. A massive hole was now in the wall of Spike's room, and he was nowhere to be seen. Outside, some ponies were running around in panic as their houses and shops were on fire.

"Oh no. He's finally lost it" Twilight squeaked, quickly flying out of the hole. "I've gotta find him and stop him before he hurts...or kills somepony."

***

Cloudchaser was slowly making her way home after a hard day's work. She'd been kicking clouds for eight hours straight. Every inch of her body ached, and she was not looking forward to going home. She knew Flitter and Thunderlane would probably be there, making out on the couch. She cringed and gritted her teeth.

"Damn you, Flitter. For taking him away from me just like that" She growled to herself.

Cloudchaser could just about see her cloud house, when she heard a loud scream from below. It startled her so bad, she almost fell out of the sky. "What the hay was that?"

She flew below the cloud level, gasping in shock at the sight. Ponyville was a mess! Houses were on fire, ponies were running around screaming, some were even injured. It was not a pretty sight. What had caused all of this?

"Spikey, please clam down" Cloudchaser heard somepony whimper.

A deep, dark, and anger filled voice was quick to reply. "You made me this way! This is all your fault! If it weren't for you, my life would be just fine!"

"I'm sorry, Spikey wikey" Rairty squeaked.

"DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME THAT AGAIN!" He roared, making her faint out of terror.

Cloudchaser had been sneaking closer, and recognised the beast. Wasn't he that cute little baby Dragon she'd met earlier? Wait a minute, cute!? What was she, a smitten high school mare!? She had to do something, but what?

"Spike! Calm down, please" Princess Twilight begged, extending a hoof towards him.

The Dragon responded by swiping at her. She quickly flew into the air to avoid being hit. She didn't have time to avoid being smacked in the head by his tail though. Twilight slammed into the Carousel Boutique, groaning in pain. Spike, blind to all the damage he was causing, opened his mouth to roast the princess. He was stopped by a certain Pegasus.

"STOP!" Cloudchaser screamed, standing in front of Twilight.

Spike closed his mouth, cocking a brow. His red eyes examined the young mare. It was the mare he'd wanted to get earlier. His eyes went from evil to...passionate.

"W-Why's he looking at me like that?" Cloudchaser asked, leaning over to Twilight.

"I-I don't know" She replied, looking up at him.

Spike moved closer to the mare, his eyes examining every inch of her. A small blush formed on her cheeks at this. Without warning, his tail wrapped around the mare's middle. He spread his wings, and flew away.

"Spike! Wait!" Twilight called out, preparing to got after him.

A hoof on her shoulder stopped her. A familiar princess stood beside her.

"Let him go, Twilight. He's better off" Celestia said, looking up at the sky.

"What about Cloudchaser?" Twilight asked.

"She can handle herself. Besides, she's the answer."

"Answer to what?"

Celestia was silent after that. Twilight stood alongside her, not knowing how to feel or what to think. There was one question on her mind though. How was Cloudchaser, the answer? And what was she the answer to?

New Friend

View Online

It had been at least an hour since Cloudchaser had been forcefully taken from Ponyville. She'd tried squirming out of the Dragon's grip, but it was no use. She was beginning to have red marks on her stomach from his tail being around it for so long. Just when she thought he'd never put her down, he landed at the mouth of a large cave.

Cloudchaser looked around. It was a mountain with a huge cave on the side of it. The cliff edge was lovely, but that was the least of her concerns. The Dragon walked to the inside of it, moving pretty far back. Cloudchaser finally lost it. She'd been a good little mare for the past hour, but she was about to become anything but.

"Listen up, scaly butt! You don't put me down, right now, I'm gonna peel off your scales, one by one! Now, PUT ME DOWN!" She screeched.

Spike merely snarled at her outburst, dropping her on the ground. He watched Cloudchaser rub her now sore head as she glared at him.

"Stupid flying snake" She growled, standing on all four hooves.

Spike growled himself at that, only louder. Cloudchaser began backing up as he edged towards her. She ended up against a rock inside the cave, pressing herself against it as much as possible. She shut her eyes in fear, believing the beast was about to finish her off. She was quite wrong.

Spike began sniffing the young mare, examining her again. Cloudchaser popped an eye open, watching him closely. His fangs were mere inches from her flesh, frightening her slightly. Fear became a thing of the past, as Spike moved his nose...a little too far down. It made Cloudchaser gasp, and buck him in the nose with her back legs.

"Hell no! Watch were your nose goes, punk!" She hollered.

Spike shook his head, whining a little. Suddenly, his body started shaking, and his size began to decrease. Before Cloudchaser could blink, the once massive, dangerous Dragon, was now back to being a harmless baby.

"Where...am I?" Spike asked, looking around.

That did it. This Dragon's mood swings were driving her nuts! First, he was all big and mean. Next, he acted like nothing had even happened! Cloudchaser snorted, gritting her teeth.

"Where..are you? WHERE ARE YOU!? I'LL TELL YOU WHERE YOU ARE! YOU'RE ON DEATH'S DOORSTEP IS WHERE YOU ARE!" She screamed, backing him against the wall.

"H-Hey easy now. What's g-got you stop riled up?" Spike stammered.

"YOU DO! You're the one who destroyed 80% of Ponyville! You're the one who nearly killed Rarity and Twilight! And you're the one who BUCKING KIDNAPPED ME!" Cloudchaser finished, panting for breath.

Destroyed Ponyville? Almost killed Rarity and Twilight? Kidnapped her? What was she...? Then it hit. His hatred must've taken over him. He must've attacked everyone, unbeknownst to him. Spike slumped down on his butt, staring at the stone floor of the cave.

"Celestia was right. I am dangerous. She was right t-to banish me from Ponyville. Heck, she should've just sent me to the moon like Luna. I'm..I'm a monster" Spike muttered, just before erupting into tears.

Cloudchaser was taken aback by the Dragon suddenly crying. Guilt from what she'd said only moments began to set in. He really didn't know what he was doing. She say down beside him, putting a wing around him. He looked up at her with the most miserable of eyes, making her more guilty.

"Look, I'm sorry kid. I thought you not knowing what you'd done was just a big trick. I didn't realise you were being sincere about not knowing. I shouldn't have gone off like that. I've just been...under a lot of stress lately" Cludchaser explained, sighing in exhaustion.

Spike listened to everything she was saying, still sniffling a little. She was a bit rough around the edges, but still a sweet mare. A bit like..Rarity had once been. Only...maybe just a tad more fierce. He kinda liked it.

"I-I accept your apology. Friends?" He asked, extending a claw.

Cloudchaser extended her hoof, shaking it. "Friends." The two then sat in silence for a good few minutes.

"Hey, since we're alone now, wanna talk about what you were crying about earlier?" Spike suggested.

"Oh..that. Well, it's a very unpleasant story but, I suppose it's good to tell somepony" Cloudchaser said, bowing out some air.

So, the two talked for a couple hours. Cloudchaser about getting cheated on by her coltfriend with her own sister, and Spike about Rairty cheating on him with an upper class stallion. Not to mention getting pregnant.

"Man, it sounds worse for you. I mean, at least mine didn't get pregnant. Because it's not physically possible" Cloudchaser said, smiling sheepishly.

"Yeah but, at least she didn't cheat on me with my sibling" Spike replied, play playing with his claws.

Cloudchaser and him sat at the mouth of the cave, talking with each other. Celestia had been lowering the sun, and Luna had started raising the moon. Spike yawned, leaning against Cloudchaser. She blushed slightly, but smiled. She put her wing around him, yawning herself.

"Well, goodnight Cloudchaser" Spike said, falling asleep.

"Night, Spike" She replied, smiling down at him before drifting herself.

Regrets Are Great

"I have to go find Spike!" Twilight cried, pacing back and forth.

"But, darling. Celestia said we had to let him go. That, he had to leave Ponyville" Rarity replied.

Twilight sighed in defeat, sitting on her hunches. She couldn't disobey Celestia's orders. It could jeopardize her position as a princess. Besides, Spike might not even come back.

"You're right. And Celestia did mention something about Cloudchaser being..."the answer." Maybe she'll get him to come back home" Twilight said, her eyes filled with hope.

"Let's hope so, darling" Rarity replied, sipping some tea.

Twilight looked up at the moon, sighing heavily. She thought about what Celestia had said, over and over again.

"If you really are the answer to Spike getting better, I hope you can, Cloudchaser."

***

"Spike, what's wrong?" Cloudchaser asked, trotting alongside him.

"I just...feel so guilty. This is all my fault. And now, I can never go back home" He answered, staring at his feet.

He angrily kicked a stone, holding back tears. Cloudchaser looked at him with pity. She put a wing around his shoulder, punching him slightly in the arm.

"Cheer up, kid! I'm sure you'll learn to control your...tantrums in no time."

"Tantrums? Really?" Spike asked, cocking an eyebrow.

Cloudchaser merely shrugged. "What? It was the best I could come up with."

Spike chuckled, shaking his head. This mare was a strange one, but not without charm. Her own, special type of charm. It still surprised him that Thunderlane would cheat on her. She seemed pretty nice. He absolutely hated ponies who took advantage of others.

"So where are we going?" Cloudchaser asked

"The Griffin king. We can't be in his kingdom without letting him know. We're liable to be killed, ground up, and turned into sloppy Joe" Spike replied, nonchalantly.

Cloudchaser shuddered at the thought, following the Dragon to the castle doors. Two Griffin's dressed in armor stopped them, demanding an identity.

"We are travelers who have come here to stay for awhile. We wish to alert his highness of our presence'" Spike informed.

The Griffin's eyed them suspiciously before granting them access. Cloudchaser was surprised he'd gotten them to listen so easily. Griffins were known to be serious jerks.

"I'm impressed, Spike. You sure know how to convince ponies. Or in this case, Griffins."

"Why thank you, malady."

Cloudchaser giggled, blushing a little. They walked down the long hallway, finally reaching the throne room. On it, sat the Griffin king. A gruff looking guy. Not the type you'd want to screw with unless a hospital was nearby.

"Who the hell are you supposed to be?" He snapped, glaring at them both.

Spike told him exactly what he'd told the guards, surprisingly calm through out the whole thing. Although the king wasn't overly friendly, Spike took it well. It surprised him. Any other time, he probably would've gone off. Why was so calm now?

"I suppose you can stay in the kingdom. But, only on the outskirts of it. The Griffins in the city wouldn't take kindly to a Dragon and...a pony" The king growled.

Cloudchaser had every intention of bucking him right in typeface. But, like Spike, she let her cool. They both bowed, thanked him, and left. As they flew to their destination, Cloudchaser groaned.

"I hope he sits on a needle" She hissed.

Spike couldn't help but start laughing at this remark. Cloudchaser bit her lip, trying not to herself. But, that didn't last long. Soon, they were both laughing so hard, they almost fell out of the sky. Maybe being stuck with each other wasn't so bad after all.

Seduction Or Stupidity?

View Online

Cloudchaser yawned, stretching out her sore wings. Once again, she'd slept wrong and was feeling the consequences for it.

"I've got to stop sleeping like that. I'm gonna end up bending my wings the wrong way" She groaned to herself.

It had come to her attention, that Spike was nowhere to be found. Seeing she was in need of food, she decided to go get some grass, and look for him at the same time. Multitasking. Her specialty.

Cloudchaser flew out of the cave they'd been staying in, and made her way to the ground. She sighed in relief at the feeling of the grass on her hooves. After all, the Griffin Kingdom was basically just...rock. Grass was a gift when it came to this place.

As she began searching for some more, fresh grass to eat, she heard a splashing sound in the distance. Noticing the Dragon prints on the ground, she knew it must be Spike. Cloudchaser soon reached the pond, finding him bathing. She smirked as she quietly sneaked up on him. Once close enough, she took a deep breath.

"Hiya, squirt!" She greeted.

Spike screeched and ended up falling backwards in the water. Cloudchaser laughed, walking over to the water's edge. Her amusement turned to concern as Spike didn't come back up.

"Yo kid? You alright? Yoo hoo! Hello! Anypony ho-" Cloudchaser was cut off as Spike reappeared, pulling her into the water with him.

She squeaked in surprise, kicking and flailing her hooves. She despised ponies, or in this case Dragons, that could make her pranks backfire. She glared at Spike bitterly, whom only snickered in response. It didn't last long. For Cloudchaser ALWAYS, had a revenge plan.

Cloudchaser smiled seductively, which was kinda difficult with her cheeks puffed out for air. She batted her lashes, swimming closer the the younger drake. Whom, was quick to swim backwards. Unfortunately, he ended up against a rock.

Cloudchaser leaned as close as she could, while he leaned as far back as he could. Although under water, he could still feel it as her warm tongue ran across his snout. Practically his whole body turned a bright shade of pink. At the last second, Cloudchaser kissed him full out on the lips and swam away.

The only reason Spike followed was because of the need for oxygen. Otherwise, he would'vee just stayed there. Frozen in shock. He watched as Cloudchaser got out, shaking her wet fur off.

"W-What was that? We're you tr-trying to...seduce me? Or just...jerk my chain?" He asked.

"That's for me to know, and you to find out" Cloudchaser replied, swishing her wet tail as she walked away.

She made sure to swing her hips as she did so, smiling proudly. "Gotcha, squirt."

Twilight stared sadly out the window of the train. She was on her way to Canterlot, but could frankly care less. To say she was depressed, was the understatement of the century. She hadn't slept in two days, hadn't eaten in one, and looked like death itself had stolen her soul.

Miserable mare she was. Not having Spike at home was...wrong. Twilight had become so used to hearing his voice everyday. Getting her in the morning, and bidding her a goodnight. Not to mention, the smell of food cooking in the morning, noon, and evening. His cooking had always cheered her up. Even on the most stressful of days.

Although all those things were true, and we're dearly missed, there was one aspect she missed the most. It was having him around at all. He was the little brother she'd never had. Almost like her very own foal. She'd raised him since he was a tiny Dragon. Now that he was gone, so was a part of her. Twilight's very being was aching, screaming to have that piece of her back. If only she could.

Twilight wasn't the only one feeling the pain of Spike's absence. Many in Ponyville, although still cleaning the destruction, bad come to miss the little Dragon. He had brought smiles to the faces of many ponies who worked at the shops. Whenever he'd stop and buy supplies for Twilight, he always had the most gentlemanly attitude. It could charm a cobra, as some would say. It was rather disappointing no longer seeing his kind face anymore.

Rarity had gone into her own level of depression. Spike had been everything to her. Sure, she ran off and cheated, and for this she cursed herself everyday. But, he'd always been there when she needed it most, even before they officially became a couple. He'd dried her tears whenever she wept. He'd held her close, whenever she needed a good hug. And he'd always supported her when she had doubts. He had been...the perfect stallion. Or, Dragon in this instance. And she'd turned around, slapping him in the face for all his hard work and effort.

The rest of the mane six were sad as well. Rainbow Dash had missed the way she could electrocute the guy with her clouds as a prank. And the way she would always tease him about Rarity. Not to mention, how she would encourage him about growing wings one day. She would sometimes peak over her cloud, just to see if he was there. Much to her dismay, he was not.

Fluttershy had wept profusely upon learning about the young drake's leaving. Sure, she had all her animals to cheer her up, but Spike was more than an animal. He was a best friend. And more than anything, Fluttershy hated losing a friend.

Apple Jack had been having a hard time focusing on her work. She was constantly making foolish, filly like mistakes when she was working. This wasn't her. If Spike was back, she'd probably been doing twice as well. Apple Jack hated seeing all her friends so down and out. It had begun getting to her as well. She'd fallen behind on Apple bucking. Grannie Smith was yelling at her constantly. Telling her ponies would have no cider that year if she didn't hop to it. Apple Jack knew she was right, that she needed to step it up. But, how could she? Pinkie was right when she said, "Apple Jack cries on the inside."

Pinkie Pie had lost her puffy mane. The usually high sprinted, hyperactive, cheerful mare, had turned into a sad clown. Spike had been one of her favorite customers at Sugar Cube Corner. Everyday, whenever she thought it was Spike at the door, she'd jump right over Mr. and Mrs. Cake, rush to the counter with the biggest smile on her face, only for it to disappear. Spike never showed up. But, every day, in hops he might, she would leave a ruby encrusted cupcake on a plate, outside the door.

It was never eaten.

Old Enemy, New Tricks

Cloudchaser sighed as she walked through the woods. Many ponies would call her crazy for not having run away by now. She could be rid of the Drgaon who'd kidnapped her. All she had to do, was spread her wings, and fly away.

At the beginning, she probably would've. If she hadn't grown so damn attached to him. Cloudchaser had no idea why, or how, but she couldn't seem to leave him. She felt is she did, it would be wrong and unfair. True, he needed to get a grip on his temper and powers, but that could be overlooked. Something about him just...made her stay.

Of course it had taken her twenty minutes to convince him to let her go anywhere. Sometimes, he was perfectly laid back about her going for walks or flights. But whenever a growth spurt would hit, he always needed to know where she was going or what she was doing. Honestly, it was like an overprotective coltfriend.

"And yet, I find it somehow...charming. Ugh! This is so frustrating! Why can't I just decide how I feel about him!?" Cloudchaser shouted, startling some birds.

"Poor, poor little Cloudchaser. Whatever will she do?" A mocking voice from nowhere spoke.

Cloudchaser pricked her ears up, looking around. "Hello?"

"If you can't decide how to feel, I can make you decide."

"Who's there? Show yourself!"

A hooded figure appeared out of the brush. Cloudchaser narrowed her eyes at the stranger, spreading her wings in case of needing to escape. This planning ahead was interrupted as a magical aura lifted her off the ground.

"They'll be no need for that, Cloudchaser. You can't escape me anyway" The pony said, with the utmost cocky tone.

"Who the hell are you?" Cloudchaser snapped, having grown impatient.

The pony chuckled, slowly removing its hood. "You can call me...Starlight Glimmer."

Cloudchaser raised an eyebrow. "Have we met? Because I don't recall-"

"Not till now. I had to wait for the prefect moment to reveal myself. You see, I've been watching you for a long time now. Many months to be honest."

"What are you? A stalker?"

"No. Just a unicorn with revenge on her mind. And I'm gonna make it happen. By using, you" Starlight said, pressing a hoof to her chest.

"Revenge? Depends on who it's gonna be on. If it's who I think it is, I can tell you right now, not gonna happen" Cloudchaser stated, glaring at the mare.

"I thought you might say that. But, I'm gonna lay a little bit of a news flash on ya. You don't have a say in this. You're gonna do as I say. Otherwise, eveypony Spike knows and you know, is gonna suffer the consequences" Starlight Glimmer explained, pacing around the mare.

"I think the mane six can handle themselves. After all, they are the elements of harmony" Cloudchaser replied.

"True. But, all six have one particular weakness. Without each other, they are completely useless. I should know. I've gone up against Twilight herself before. I practically beat her to a pulp, and her friends could do nothing for her."

Cloudchaser's eyes widened in surprise. Was that true? Was it possible for an alicorn to be defeated by a simple unicorn? If so, who else could she defeat? Or hurt?

Her questions were quickly answered. "Anyways, I need you to make that wimpy little Drgaon of Twilight's fall in love with you. Then, your gonna state that you never proved him. And when you do, I'm gonna rip his heart right out of his chest, and consume every last bit of his power. I WILL be the most powerful unicorn in Equestria!"

"Never. You have no power over me or Spike" Cloudchaser growled.

"Oh I beg you reconsider. After all, not everypony can make an irreversible love spell, so that two ponies cheat on their lover. What do you think happened to Thunderlane and Rarity?" Starlight smirked wickedly.

"W-What?" Cloudchaser's eyes went wide in shock.

"Thats right. I put a spell on Rairty so she'd bang Fancy Pants, and get pregnant. Then, I made your precious Thunderlane fall for your brat little sister. And to think, he was about about to propose" Starlight Glimmer mocked.

She used her magic to levitate a black box in the air. She opened it to reveal the diamond ring inside. Starlight then threw it against a rock, shattering the diamond to a million pieces. Much like Cloudchaser's heart. The mare smirked harder, pulling Cloudchaser closer.

"You WILL, make that Dragon fall for you. You WILL, break his heart. And you WILL, watch him die. A slow, painful, unloved death. Don't follow my rules, and everypony pays the price. Got it?" Starlight Glimmer snapped, tightening her magical grip on the Pegasus.

"Y-Yes" Cloudchaser whimpered.

"I said, got it!?" Starlight screamed, tightening her grip to agonizing levels.

"Yes! Yes! I'll do it! Now please let me go!" Cloudchaser cried out, tears pouring down her cheeks.

Satisfied, the unicorn dropped her to the ground. She trotted towards the woods, swinging her tail to and for happily. "Remember what I said, Cloudchaser. Do everything I say, and nopony will get hurt."

With that, she vanished. Cloudchaser attempted to pick herself up, shaking with terror and pain. She fell back down, groaning in annoyance. Her mane blew up in the wind as a pair of wings flew towards her.

"Cloudchaser? Are you okay? What happened to you?" Spike asked, rushing to her side.

He nudged her into a standing position with his muzzle. Cloudchaser leaned against it, attempting to catch her breath. Her mind was racing. What was she gonna do? She couldn't just...lie to Spike. He would get hurt. But, what about everypony else?

"Cloudchaser? You gonna answer me? What happened?" Spike inquired again.

Biting her lip and holding back tears, Cloudchaser finally looked up at him. "I'm fine. I just....crashed into some rocks when I went flying."

She held her breath as Spike eyed her suspiciously for a few seconds. Hoping to take his mind off it, and going along with her orders, she rubbed up against his muzzle. Spike was caught off guard by this...affectionate gesture. Just what she needed.

"Take me back to the cave. Please?" Cloudchaser smiled weakly.

Spike slowly nodded, letting her climb onto his muzzle. As he took off towards the cave, a pair of eyes watched them closely. A smirked appeared on the unicorn's face.

"Good luck, Cloudchaser. I've got preparations for transmitting Dragon magic into a pony, to take care of" Starlight Glimmer said, laughing maniacally before disappearing in a burst of magic.

Getting Close To You And Going To Save You

Cloudchaser slowly woke up, blinking her crusty eyes. She groaned in pain as the sun shined through the entrance of the cave, straight into her eyes. Quickly turning her head away, she was soon face to face with Spike. Cloudchaser gave a squeak of surprise, jumping to her hooves.

"Oh no. He's gotten bigger again" She whispered, biting her lip.

Spike had, once again, had a growth spurt. But...why? These growth spurts were so random. Almost as if he wasn't in control. Was somepony- Cloudchaser immediately began gritting her teeth. Her gut told her that the horrible unicorn she'd run into last night had something to do with it. Speaking of which, what was she gonna tell Spike? Or, should she even tell him? What if he ended up getting killed because of it?

"Ugh! All this thinking is giving me a massive headache" Cloudchaser groaned.

"What are you thinking about?" Spike said, lifting his head.

Cloudchaser's eyes darted back and forth. She had to think of an excuse. And fast. "Uh, just...wondering when we're gonna go back home. If ever."

Spike nodded a little, slowly standing up. It was right about when his head hit the ceiling, that he realised his transformation. His eyes widened for a second, before letting out a road of frustration. Shaking the entire cave.

"Not again! Why does this keep happening!?" He exclaimed.

"S-Spike! Clam d-down!" Cloudchaser yelped, struggling to keep balance.

Spike's eyes had first been red. But at the sound of Cloudchaser's distressed voice, he calmed down. His eyes returned to their normal color. He sighed, slowly sitting on his hunches. Why him? Why did he have to turn into...a..a..monster? If it weren't for that, he wouldn't have lost all his friends. Or his home.

Cloudchaser bit her lip, placing a loving hoof on his claw. "Chin up, squirt. I'm sure you'll find a way to control it. Maybe you...just need somepony to help you."

"Yeah. Like anypony in their right mind would want to help me" Spike replied, his head bowed.

Cloudchaser pushed his chin up, smiling gently. "What made you think I was sane?"

A small smile spread across the Dragon's features. He slowly stood up, stretching a little. "Thanks, Cloudy."

"Cloudy?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Did that offend you? I'm sorry!"

"Oh chill your nuts, kid. You can call me that. But, only on special occasions."

Spike nodded in agreement. He walked into another area of the cave to search through the collection of gems he'd been gathering for the past few days. Cloudchaser's smile faded when she heard a familiar noise behind her.

"Aww, so sweet. The way he actually thinks you care" Starlight said, chuckling mockingly.

"Listen, I was being completely sincere when I said that. I don't care what you're making me do, I ment what I said" Clodhcaser fired back, gritting her teeth.

"But don't you see? That only makes it funnier. If you actually develop feelings for him, I'm gonna laugh my flank off. Big time."

Cloudchaser resisted the intense urge to punch her. Starlight smirked, tossing her mane back. "Anyways, I just came to remind you of your purpose. Remember now, he's got to fall in love with you. And also remember the consequences if you try to tell him ANYTHING. Later, peasant!"

Starlight disappeared in a burst of magic. Cloudchaser snorted, her face being a brilliant shade of red. Spike walked in, shaking his scales.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Peachy" She growled.

"Um...you su-" Spike was cut off.

"We should go for a flight. You can learn to use your wings for longer periods of time. And, we can...get to know each other more."

"Well, I guess you have a point. And it's not like we have anything better to do anyway. Why not?" Spike replied.

Cloudchaser nodded and quickly trotted towards the entrance of the cave. Something was clearly off with her. Why was she acting so...secretive all of a sudden? He didn't like it when somebody hid stuff from him. Especially not from the mare he was so fond of.

Spike quickly shook his head, trying to clear those thoughts. He shouldn't think of Cloudchaser that way. It's not like she was his mate or anything! Not that he'd complain if she was. He blushed brightly at even thinking such. Good thing Cloudchaser couldn't hear thoughts. Otherwise he'd be dead by now.

As the two flew through the air, an uncomfortable silence hung in it as well. Other than the sound of the wind in their ears, the two were silent. If Cloudchaser didn't break the silence, she was gonna end up crashing into a rock from boredom.

"So, can I ask something. Spike?" She said, looking over at him.

"Depends. Just as long as you don't plan on yelling at me" He replied.

Cloudchaser bit her lip. "Why exactly did you take me with you? I mean, I understand when you go into major outbursts you can't remember. But, do you have any clue at all as to why you took me? Of all ponies, why me?"

Spike sighed loudly, puffing some smoke out of his nostrils. Cloudchaser flinched slightly. She really hoped she hadn't pushed the wrong buttons. After all, he could turn her into fried Pegasus in a matter of seconds. Well, as long as she got served with a side of chips and a pickle she wouldn't complain.

"To be perfectly honest...I think I took you because....you were the only pony who I didn't have a problem with. Rarity cheated on me, and is the main cause of my outbursts. Twilight upset me by telling me to leave. I felt betrayed. And in all, I just felt everypony had something against me. That I needed revenge on them. But, you did nothing wrong to me. So, why not take you? I don't know. Just how I felt."

The two went silent again. Staring ahead at the clouds and Celestia's sun shining through them. Cloudchaser thought about what he'd said. She was the only pony he met who didn't hold a grudge against him. Even after he had kidnapped her. Weird how that worked.

"I guess you're right, Spike. I didn't and don't hold anything against you. In fact, I'm kinda glad you kidnapped me" Cloudchaser said.

"Ye- Wait, what? Why? Are you feeling well?" Spike asked, cocking an eyebrow.

She giggled a little. "I'm fine. It's just, I didn't even want to go back home that day. I was just gonna have to return to my sister being with my...ex coltfriend. Any way, I appreciate you for taking me away from that. And to be honest, I enjoy your company. You're pretty cool. For a Dragon."

Spike smiled gently, hiding his blush. "Thanks. Wait, what's that last part supposed to mean?!"

Cloudchaser merely smirked and flew farther ahead. Spike growled and flew after her. "I demand an answer!"

Twilight sat at her royal desk, staring at the stack of papers. Ponies taxes were do, and it was up to her, and Mayor Mare, to see all were done correctly and quickly. But, she was having a very hard time focusing. She found that the easiest of math equations, had become nearly impossible. Why? Simple. Because her number one assistant, wasn't there to help.

Twilight had gone downhill steadily since Spike had left/been banished. She was highly depressed, barely ate, and could hardly focus on her work. Especially since last night....

"But, Princess Celestia! How do we know for sure Cloudchaser can fix Spike!?" Twilight exclaimed.

"Because, unlike you, I have faith in that mare" Celestia replied, confidently.

"I'm not saying I don't have faith. I'm merely saying we should go and help!"

"Twilight-" Celestia sighed in exasperation.

"She might not succeed! And then Spike might never come home! And then-"
Twilight was cut off.

"TWILIGHT SPARKLE!" Celestia shouted, stomping her hoof. Causing the ground to vibrate. "You WILL listen to me! Cloudchaser WILL help Spike get better! Spike WILL, come home! But, not until, he is better. And no matter how long that takes, we will wait. Do I make myself clear?"

Twilight cowered, her ears flattened against her head. "Y-Yes, Princess."

Celestia nodded, turning her back to Twilight. "Now, if I were you, I'd get back to what you need to do. Being a princess, and attending to your royal duties." And with that, she flew away.

Twilight had another reason to hate being a princess. She was expected to just go with the flow about certain matters. She wasn't permitted to act upon them. To fix them. And it hurt. Oh, did it hurt.

But, she wasn't going to do that anymore. She didn't care what princess Celestia told her. She didn't care what everypony would think or say. Spike was her best friend. Quite frankly, her little brother. And she was NOT going to push him aside like garbage.

"Twilight? Twilight?!" Rarity yelled.

"What?!" Twilight hollered back.

"You froze up on me. I came in here to bring you some tea and you wouldn't answer me" Rarity explained. " Now, would you like some-"

"Rarity, I'm gonna round up the gang. We're getting Spike back no matter what" Twilight interrupted, bolting from her seat and out the door.

"No matter what!" She cried out again before disappearing.

Rarity just stood in the middle of the room, silent. "Did you still want some tea!?"

But, Twilight was long gone. Rarity huffed. "Oh Parasprites!" She soon calmed down, and sat down. She took a bite out of some toast and sipped the tea. Oh well. More for her.

One Down, Five To Go

Spike lay upon a rock, watching intently. "So, tell me more about this...Thunderlane."

"You don't sound overly pleased" Cloudchaser replied

She slowly placed one hoof in the pond. The rest of her body soon followed and she began paddling around in small circles. Spike watched from above. He shrugged his shoulders.

"Well, he did cheat on you. With your own sibling." He said.

"What do you wanna know about him? And why?"

"Uh, well.....what made you fall for him? What did you like about him so much? What things did he do to impress you?"

"He'd get me my favorite flowers. Pink tulips. Take me on picnics, talk about life and what we wanted to do with it. But, there was my favorite thing of all" Cloudchaser said, swimming up to the edge of his rock.

"And that was...?" Spike inquired.

"We'd go to this one spot, way outside of Ponyville. It was a beautiful field, full of pink tulips. We'd lay on a red and white checkered blanket. We'd watch until the sun went down. He'd lay his head on mine, and then he'd whisper "I love you to the moon, and back" right when Luna's full moon would rise into the sky. And then we'd kiss."

Once Cloudchaser had finished, a few stray tears had begun working their way down her soft cheeks. Spike gently wiped them away, smiling lovingly. Cloudchaser smiled back a little, tossing her wet mane out of her face.

"I'm sorry. I must look like such a wimp right now. Which is pretty accurate" She said, sighing loudly.

"Trust me. I've met quite a few wimps in my lifetime. You're not one of them" Spike replied. "In fact, you're anything but. You're sweet, kind, caring, brave, strong, smart. I could go on, but it'd probably take all day. Point is, you have no right to feel like a wimp. Because trust me when I say, you, Cloudchaser, are ANYTHING but."

A small blush appeared on the mare's cheeks, causing her to look down. She bit her lip, fighting off the sudden urge to kiss him for such a kind remark. Little did she know, he was going through the same inner struggle. Only worse.

He could feel his power starting to rise in his chest, but he quickly forced it back down. It wasn't the appropriate time. Not here. Not now. Not yet. He couldn't confess to Cloudchaser. Not only his feelings, but also exactly what this power was doing to him. Or, what it was going to do.

Starlight Glimmer trotted alongside Twilight Sparkle, staring intently at the map held within her magical field. "If head towards the mountainous region, we should be able to track Spike and Cloudchaser down."

"And how do you know that?" Rainbow Dash asked, her voice lined with slight distrust.

"Now, now, Rainbow. Starlight is a very wise unicorn. She knows this land like the back of her hoof! We have every right to trust her" Rarity replied.

Starlight smirked wickedly. This was all too easy. The arrogant mares trusted her entirely, therefore making her plans fall right into place. She would have Spike's power all to herself very soon. But was it enough? No. She needed more power to feel satisfied. And she had the perfect six ponies to get it from.

The mares stopped in front of a large forest. The sounds of unknown creatures echoing inside the thick trees. It was a most intimidating sight. For there was no telling what kind of beasts they might happen upom. The possibility of getting lost was great too.

"So....now what?" Pinkie Pie asked, hopping in place.

"I-I could go first. I might find some animals to give us directions" Fluttershy suggested.

"Are you sure you won't get scared? Or hurt?" Twilight inquired. Sending the shy and quiet one into a creepy forest alone sounded like a bad idea.

"I will go with her. In case we run into danger" Starlight Glimmer pipped up.

"How kind of you, darling. I'm sure you two will be safe together" Rarity said, smiling lovingly.

Starlight Glimmer and Fluttershy soon made their way into the forest. Being inside the thick vegetation was quite different from being on the outside. Sure, the noises and atmosphere had been bothersome. But now, they were surrounded by it all. Engulfed, almost.

Fluttershy quickly felt uneasy. She began walking closer to Starlight in an attempt to gain some comfort. Any chances of getting some vanished when she realised Starlight.....was gone.

"S-Starlight? Where'd you go?" Fluttershy asked aloud, looking around rather frantically.

She was met with nothing but the sound of the forest. Fluttershy began trembling with fear. Where could she possibly have disappeared to? Had she gone to another area without saying? Had she fallen behind? Yes, that must be it. Fluttershy probably just walked ahead too quickly.

With some confidence regained, she turned around and began heading back. She didn't notice the looming shadow behind her. But she did notice one thing. Something that made her freeze in her tracks. The forest had become dead silent. The only sound being the wind eerily whistling through the trees. Fluttershy listened closely, but not cloesly enough to hear something sneak up behind her.

If only Twilight and her friends had heard the scream that sliced through the quiet forest. If only they had seen the blood that now painted an area of plant life. If only they'd been there to witness their friend's life fade from her eyes, as tear filled vision gazed upon the one who'd killed her. And if only, if only they'd heard the last shaky breath from her lips breath at one final word.

"W-Why?"

The Love, The Fear, And Four More To Go

Spike panted slightly as he ran through the forest. His legs were aching, and he quite frankly felt like quitting. And he probably would've it it hadn't been for the beautiful, and persistent mare sitting atop his head.

"Come on, Spike! Just five more miles!" Cloudchaser cheered.

"I-I've been running f-for ten m-miles! Can't I j-just stop!?" He exclaimed, gasping for oxygen.

"NO! If you're such a big bad Dragon, you need to work out like one! So speed it up!"

Spike puffed some smoke out of his nostrils before obeying the commands of the bossy mare. He was worn out to say the least. But, he couldn't say no to Cloudchaser. She was too cute...and scary. So he pressed onward. Ignoring his aching legs, lungs, and chest.

Five miles later, Spike was sprawled out on the ground. He was coughing and wheezing loudly. No matter how bossy she was, Cloudchaser couldn't even convince him to stand up at the moment. EVERYTHING hurt like hell!

"Really? That's it?!" Cloudchaser exclaimed.

Spike simply glared at her. Cloudchaser sighed in defeat before jumping off his head. She started walking away, causing Spike to jerk his head up in concern. A small, instinctive growl, emanated from his throat. He didn't want her wondering off on her own. He didn't like her out of his sight.

"I'll be fine, Dragon douche! I'm just getting a drink at the pond. When you're finished dying, feel free to join me" She teased, swishing her tail in a seemingly flirtatious manner.

Spike's scales turned pink. Normally a mare couldn't get to him so easily. Though many ponies had judged him back at home, there was always that one mare who wanted to flirt with him. Because even Ponyville had some desperate sluts. But at the time there was only one mare who could sway him. A mare...whom he now despised.

Hatred rose into his chest at the mere thought. His head suddenly began throbbing and his vision started blurring. A mysterious voice in his head began mocking him.

"Poor, Spikey Wikey. It must hurt so badly to know you're not cared about. That you're so easy to replace."

Spike spun around in an attempt to find the owner of the voice." Show yourself!"

"We've met before. And be assured we'll meet again very soon. After I finished picking off your precious friends. Including the mare you claim to hate so much" The voice continued to taunt him.

"I do hate her! She lied to me, betrayed me. She never cared about me. She's nothing but dirt in my eyes now" Spike fired back.

"Oh but we both know that's not true. Not only will your anger destroy you. So will the fact that you still care. You care for those who've hurt you. Like Twilight for instance. She made you leave your own home. Her friends did nothing to help you or stop her. And yet, you still care for them. Beneath that wall of hatred you've built, is a poor baby dragon that cares far too much."

Spike couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt. No matter what his growth spurts or angrered outbursts suggested, he WAS nothing but a baby dragon. One that cared way too much. His care was his detriment. Not his hatred.

"I'd love to chat longer, but I've got some ponies to...eradicate. Besides, shouldn't you be worried about that little mare friend of yours?" The voice asked before fading into the silence of the dense forest.

The silence was almost immediately shattered by a piercing scream. One that could belong to one pony and one pony only: Cloudchaser.

Charging in the direction of the scream, Spike was prepared to kill whatever it was that was harming his mar- no friend! Or so he thought.

The instant Cloudchaser came into sight, he was smacked upside the head so hard you'd think he'd been hit by a blast of Alicorn magic. His vision blurred for a second. Upon turning to face whatever had hit him the other side of his head was smashed into, harder than the first time.

Spike growled, snapping at the unknown attacker. Right when he was about to send a massive puff of flame, something impaler his left side. An imnense wave of pain slicing through him. His body collapsed to the ground, vision getting worse by the second.

Cloudchaser turned to face their attacker. "What the fu-" She would've finished her sentence if she hadn't been whacked unconscious. A winged creature landed in front of the two. With his last bit of consciousness, Spike was able to place the being they'd been ambushed by.

"Twilight? Could we stop for a bit? I hate to be a burden but my hooves are killing me!" Rarity whined.

"Who's fault is it you're knocked up?" Rainbow Dash asked, eyeing her with contempt.

"Rainbow, knock it off. Your negative comments ain't helping nothing and no pony. We get that you're made about the situation but now ain't the time to argue about it" Apple Jack said, intervening before things could get ugly.

"Apple Jack is right you know. What Rarity didn to Spike is none of our concern. Besides, I'm sure she feels guilty enough. Though honestly Twilight, it would be nice to stop for a while" Starlight said. They couldn't move too quickly. Otherwise she wouldn't be able to attack her next victim.

Twilight sighed. "I suppose you're right. It's getting late anyway. It would probably be good to stop here for the evening."

The mares decided to set up camp. Once their tents had been prepared and a fire had been started, Apple Jack got dinner cooking.

Rarity was planning on going to bed early, but noticed Twilight sitting by her lonesome on a stone a distance from the others. Rarity would've felt dreadful going to bed without comforting an obviously distraught friend. So she made her way over and gently sat beside her. Some stars had begun dotting the sky, and Celestia's sun was beginning to set. Rarity looked over at Twilight, a thoughtful expression upon her face.

"Do you think I'm a bad mare?" Her voice suddenly spoke.

Rarity was taken aback by the question. "Of course not my darling! Why ever would you think that!?"

"It's just that...well...Spike is family to me. You don't just chase family away when you start having problems. You sit down, find practical solutions, and work on the problem. I didn't do any of those things. I just told him to leave" Twilight explained.

"You were doing as instructed. Princess Celestia herself told you what to do" Rarity replied, placing a comforting hoof on her shoulder.

"B-But...what if he hates me now? What if he never forgives me? What if...he gets hurt? Or hurts somepony else?!" Twilight had panicked tears forming in her eyes, and her voice had begun shaking with fear.

"Twilight, Spike would never hate you! And do you know why? It's cause of exactly what you said a moment ago. You are his family. No matter what happens, family always forgives. I can see why he'd hate me. After all I did to him I deserve it. But you are like his sister. Even a bit like a mother to him. Nothing could ever stop him from loving you. Just like nothing can stop you from loving him."

Twilight gazed into her best friends eyes. Sincerity had been woven in every word, just like the way she effortlessly wove material into beautiful gowns and suits. Everything Rarity said was true. It was up to her to start believing it.

"Thanks, Rarity. I needed to hear that" Twilight said, wiping her eyes with the back of her hoof.

"That's what friends are for" Rarity replied, smiling gently.

"Y'all! Foods ready! Come get it!" Apple Jack shouted.

"Oh thank heavens! They're not joking when they say being pregnant involves eating for two" Rarity groaned.

Twilight chuckled, following alongside her back to the fire. When everypony had settled in and started eating, something suddenly felt...off.

"Does anypony feel like we're missing something?" Twilight asked.

"No. We're all here. Me, Rarity, AJ, Starlight, and you" Rainbow answered.

"I just feel like...there should be more of us for some reason."

Twilight couldn't exactly place why she felt something was missing. She couldn't even think of what or who it might be. The feeling lingered on even as she went to sleep. As though something had been...erased from her mind.

Starlight Glimmer laid down in her sleeping back, yawning slightly. An accomplished smile crossed her features as she gazed at a small clump of fuzzy pink hair in her hoof.

"Two down. Four to go."
