> The Ink is my Voice > by SushiFish78 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Chapter One > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Applebloom and Scootaloo, Manehatten is just how Rarity described it, big, busy and beautiful (not unlike how she describes herself, but she denies the big part haha!) There's so many tall buildings, it's easy for a pony to feel small, especially when the friends that were always by your side aren't there anymore... Is it strange for you guys too? I mean, you're still in Ponyville and I'm halfway across Equestria! Hopefully when we've all saved enough bits we can go out to a cute little cafe I saw on Mane Street. They sell apple strudels Applebloom, but I'm sure they aren't as good as your homemade ones. Oh yes, and Scoots? They have an amazing skate park! There were some stallions with boards um... pulling tricks I think you call it. You guys would love it here, although nothing beats that small town feel of Ponyville. On another note, just as that kind mare promised at the talent show two years ago, I finally have my first gig! I fought as hard as Icould to celebrate our 18th birthdays together. You could tell they really wanted me in a hurry! I almost had to drop out of the gig they were so impatient. It's at this pub called the Lucky HorseShoe. It isn't Carneigh Hall but we all have to start somewhere! I hope I don't mess up, haha! It's probably going to be really loud so no one'll notice a little slip up. When I hit the big time I'll be sure to send you the best tickets in the house! The hotel room I'm staying at is kind of gross. I had to clean up a lot. What are the maids payed to do in this place? Luckily there was some cleaning supplies and towels under the sink, so that was the rest of the morning I had spent. The train arrived at five and I got the room around six, so that's four hours at least! Phew! Speaking of the train ride, Rarity almost forced herself to come with me! I mean, I love her but I have to do things myself or I won't be taken seriously. She's probably already sending a letter asking how I'm doing, but it's nice to get mail. It's only been around a day (if you include me leaving at ten at night, it's noon now) and I have a horrible case of homesickness! Remember our crusading days? Being a filly is the best because you don't have to worry about bits for a house or food, just dolls or ice cream. They were also terrifying, thanks to Scoots. I'm just kidding, don't worry! We always had a good laugh afterwards, that's what counted. How's Applejack, Rainbow Dash and all the rest? Are they still hard at work? Dash mentioned something about mentioning you to her superiors about you right Scootaloo? Oh and Applebloom, has anyone bought your art yet? If not I'll send money that I earned next time and buy one. Soon I'll have tons of money to spare. Your careers are looking great so far. It's all about patience. We waited ten years for our cutie marks, we can bear a bit more patience. I miss you girls! Hugs and kisses from Manehatten, Sweetie Belle > Chapter Two > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Sweetie Belle, Wow! That sounds amazing! Scootaloo left for Cloudsdale a few hours after we got your letter, so we couldn't respond together. She said she would write once she got through briefing. I'll leave the rest for her to tell you. Manehatten sounds sort a scary, but then again I'm a farm pony and that might have somethin to do with it. Rarity's seemed really upset since you left. Luckily she has amazing friends to help her, just like we help each other! I saw Diamond Tiara yesterday almost right after you got on the train. She said that she wanted to say goodbye, but she was too afraid ya'll still hated her after all this time! Silver Spoon had gone abroad as ya'll remember a while ago. I told Diamond that we had forgiven her ages ago. (Scootaloo can hold a grudge but don't expect me to tell her that!) Then she started to cry, it was sad really. So I did the only thing I could think of. I gave that pony a nice big hug! It was a while before she calmed down enough to talk in full sentences, and when everything was all better, she just looked at me and said thank you after a few seconds. Ya'll shoulda seen her, it hurt to see her like that. Applejack wanted me to say hi for her, so hi from Applejack! There's no rest around the farm anymore. Granny Smith has gotten even more sick so we need to sell as many apples as possible to pay for her medicine. It doesn't leave much time for creating or selling art. I've tried to convince AJ to let me paint because paintings sell for a lot of bits but she wouldn't even give it a chance. We have to keep bucking apples while they're there she said. Maybe there'll be more time after applebucking season. Even then, we've been taking turns taking care of Granny so there's that to worry about. I had to write this late at night, it's the only down time we get anymore. You're right about a filly's life being better. There was more time to crusade! But we don't have to do that anymore. From now on we have to dive in with one hundred and ten percent effort! As long as you have a goal in mind, and you work towards that goal, everything'll be fine. (I'm writing down the ticket thing down somewhere so I can remind you). How was the train ride? I don't know how you can sit still for that long when you're heading to someplace that excitin'! Rarity's sent you three letters already according to Applejack, who visits her often to make sure everything's okay. (She's already starting to get herself together again.) Is being a city pony borin' or do you fit right in like we thought you would? One last thing, I found our old cape under my bed! It doesn't fit like it used to unfortunately. So I nailed it up onto my wall so I can think of you guys every single day. I miss you lots. Hugs from Sweet Apple Acres, Applebloom
