A quest to stop discord, avenge loved ones and save many. A story that in this timeline, never happened.
This is a tale that was wiped from existence by a spell that can only be cast using the elements of harmony. It's a story of three sisters, one gentle and regal, one quiet and friendly, one emotional and unstable, easy to corrupt. Can these three sisters take down Discord; will they fall while trying?
In a cave, in a desolate corner of Equestria, Glowspark and Hauntly were sheltering from the rain with their children, Celestia and the two twins Luna and Moondrop. This was the only part of the land that was untouched by Discord but the parents new he would reach them at some point.
"Mum, we need to stop running! We need to fight! We're alicorns! We can over throw him!" Celestia cried,forcefully pounding the ground with her hoof.
The mare shot her a stern look. "This dangerous thinking needs to stop, Celestia. If we could defeat him we would and right now hiding is what's best for all of us."
There was a giggle. "Stop it, Moondrop! It hurts!" The little filly was firing sparks from her horn uncontrollably. A thorn vine grew down from the ceiling and grabbed her horn. The children started screaming as the floor turned light blue. It was clear that this area of the land had finally succumbed to the chaos of Discord.Now there was nowhere else that was safe for them to hide. Suddenly, a cackle echoed through the cave.
"He's Here!" gasped Hauntly. "You know what we must do!"
"My girls," sighed Glowspark, slicing the vine away. "You are beautiful, strong and you can be anything you want to be," she turned to Celestia, "Use a cloaking spell and don't stop no matter what happens! We'll buy you some time...
The girls watched as their parents walked outside the cave to face Discord. Moondrop nudged Celestia.
"You need to cast that spell! We don't have much time!"
Celestia's horn lit up as her yellow magic took affect, A dome started to form slowly, growing slightly bigger with each moment.
"Ah, lookie here! Two alicorns! Time to rid myself of this infestation..." Sneered Discord, raising his left paw.
"Glowspark, I love you... forever and always..." sighed Hauntly, embracing her.
Before she could reply, a claw struck them down. Discord roared with laughter; he peered inside the cave but it was empty. Knowing he was now unstoppable he whisked him and the alicorns back to his castle.
Celestia lowered her cloaking spell slowly, her eyes filled with tears. Moondrop sprinted to they spot where her parents were taken.
"Mum! Dad! Come back!" She started digging into the ground. "Don't leave me!"
"Its OK," whispered Luna, affectionately placing her hoof on her sister's back, even though she was on the edge of crying too. "We need to find a place to hide"
Celestia wiped her face. "This isn't what mum would want, you're right! We should find a place to settle down."
"But Discord rules all the lands" Celestia's face lit up. "Not all the lands!" She pulled out a map from her saddlebag."Cloudsdale! The great city in the sky!" So, they decided to venture to Cloudsdale. It was a 48 hour flight but they agreed to only have 4 hours sleep spread across the flight time. Luna and Moondrop managed to gather a few apples and a bit of hay along with a container of water from a nearby farm along with a locked box they dare not open yet.
They flew straight on for 5 hours before they decided to take a nap. Celestia was out first but neither Luna or Moondrop could sleep. "Luna? Are you awake?" said Moondrop softly.
Luna replied with a swift nod. "I really wanna open that box..." She grabbed it with her magic, "What did you think is inside it?"
"Probably an old book." Yawning, Moondrop rested her head on the clouds. "Come on, lets hit the hay"
"Yeah, I'm tired," she muttered. Within minutes, they were fast asleep.
Little did they know, Discord was watching them from above, planning how to get rid of them, when suddenly it him. It literally hit on the head. A rock came flying at him and made him dizzy. "That's it!" he exclaimed, "Time to mix things up a bit..."
He floated down and hovered above Moondrop. "So innocent... time for that to change!"
MoonDrop slowly opened her eyes to see her sister standing there. She scrambled to her feet and zapped Luna's hoof.
"How dare you wake me!" she cried, "I was sleeping peacefully! I didn't need to be awoken yet!"
Luna backed off. "What's wrong with you! This isn't the sister I know!"
Moondrop turned around, "Well maybe I don't want to be your sister!" She untied her mane, spread her wings and flew off.
"Wait!" Luna shouted ; she reached out her hoof as if she was trying to pull Moondrop back to her.
Celestia awoke and approached Luna. "What's wrong?" she groaned, irritated. She scanned the area. "Moondrop!? Where is she?!"
Luna explained what had happened and how different she was. They both agreed that they had to look for her on their way to Cloudsdale as that was the main objective for now. They began to pack up their things and prepare to leave, as they did Luna came across the box. Slowly, she undid the lock. Inside were 6 jewels, each with a unique shape. She ran to Celestia to show her what she found.
"Hmm... I don't know, lets see what these are." Celestia and Luna levitated them in a circle slowly. "Maybe they're just ordinary jewels.." she inquired. Just as they were about to stop a pink ball appeared inside the circle of jewels.
"Woah!" Luna exclaimed,"Let's do it faster"
As they increased the speed the ball grew bigger until it filled the entire ring and a hyper beam was released break through over 10 miles of clouds. It shocked the alicorns so much that they drop the jewels completely. Quickly packing them into the case to contain them in case they were dangerous.
They set off once again to Cloudsdale, and flew straight for two days until the collapsed at the great gates of Cloudsdale. They searched the town for an inn until the came across a large building. On the door there was a sign which had 'Light Heads: Inn and Bar' engraved on it. They strolled inside the mossy establishment. They were being watched by Moondrop, now a corrupted soul who needs freeing.
After the peaceful sleep at Light Heads, the sisters continued to explore and came across the town square where a group of ponies were gathered round something. Luna tapped a young filly on the back.
"Umm.. hi, what's going on here " she asked politely.
"The chosen one is here!" the filly laughed.
"It's a pony!?" Luna gasped.
A familiar voice spoke gracefully. "Rise my subjects!"
The crowd parted to reveal a pony with a greyish-green mane, one they loved dearly. It was Moondrop.
"Hello my sisters!!" She annonced, charging up a beam.
Celestia and Luna took to the sky and readied themselves for battle. A powerful blast pierced the clouds around them and knocked them back. Once Moondrop joined them in the air, there was a great battle of will and strength. There were magic beams flying everywhere but Everyone one Moondrop managed to dodge completely.
"Put all your power into this one!" Celestia ordered. They put their horns together and charged up and great ball of light and split it in two. They came homing in at Moondrop from both sides and, sure enough, they hit, making a large cloud of smoke. Once they smoke had cleared, they saw something had blocked the hit, a creature with a brown and grey body and was made of different animal parts.
"Discord!" Celestia narrowed her eyes. "What have you done to her!?"
"I improved her!" He scratched Moondrop's chin with his claw. "Isn't my monster wonderful!"
Both Celestia and Luna didn't have much energy left and were exhausted. Luna saw her saddlebag on the floor nearby and used the last of her magic to get the jewels to her.
"We must do this, I'm sorry Moondrop!!" she said, tearing up. "Join me, Celestia, we must make it so it was only I who was born that day "
Celestia nodded and they started to turn them round grasping the thought of only Luna being born. The world around them started to crumble around them. The world completely restarted . As for Moondrop, she ceased to exist, or so we thought...
