Chapter 1
Sins of the Grandfather
The story begins to open up in the craziest of places, a place that looks like everything is very…weird. Hovering islands, trip background space around the entire atmosphere, weird plant-like & waters running up then down, split railroads, and in the center was what seem like a nice little resident house. There were even chaotic looking flying creatures of which, some don’t know what they really are. This place was called Chaos-ville, a place that is complete…well, Chaos! And seen inside the nice home was Discord, the Spirit Of Chaos, as his wall decoration was mix around of what was the floor to ceiling, upside-down stairs, as we see the guy was doing the dishes….turning clean ones dirty through the soap & water; how that is, well it’s a mystery.
“Oh where can they be, they should have been here by now?” Discord asked off in peeking out the window to see if anyone was coming, he was expecting company, but no sign of anyone.
Then some distant screaming was heard that made Discord drop the dishes to notice someone was outside floating around it seems, he wonders if it’s the mailman again or some sales pony. Turns out it was the Mane Six, along with Ben Mare, Nyx, Spike & Phobos, followed by their company extras, Golden Heart, Pinkamena, Jack Zen & Omega. They appear to be waving around in the zero gravity of space and need aid to which Discord pops near in seeing those that are here like he was waiting for their arrival.
“Oh there you are, I was wondering what you were all doing.” Discord smiled off to say this while everyone was experiencing their little situation.
“What do you think we could do in this mad place?” Phobos cried out to say this in complaining about having come to a weird place like this.
“Um, Discord….could you please help us?” Fluttershy meekly asked off in liking it very much if they can get some help here.
“Well, since you asked so nicely, Fluttershy.” Discord stated off to say in having been asked nicely, before doing a simple snap of his fingers that made everyone soon appear on the outside of his home as he pops next to them.
“Oh mah stars, am Ah glad we managed ta get on solid ground!” Applejack sighs off to say this in what they went through was a closer shave than any before.
“I’m surprised we managed to get by, there aren’t any street numbers for us to know where to find your current home.” Rarity stated off in making a little complaint about knowing where to go around this place.
“Oh really, I thought I made it easy for you to find my humble home.” Discord tap his chin in being a bit ponder about that question of how to get to his place.
“Well gee, we would have got here sooner, but we were attacked by….FLYING BADGERS!” Rainbow Dash calmly was saying this before yelling out what attacked them & made them get lost to begin with.
“Yep, we were right near a spot called the Bottomless Pit, but then after escaping what came at us, we didn’t know which way was up, down, sideways, or noways!” Pinkie Pie spoke out in explaining in what they were doing before having gotten lost along the way, since they can’t make heads or tails around here.
“Oh it’s simple, it’s over there, somewhere….just head that way if you wanted to make it back out.” Discord pointed out in where the group had to go to in order to get out.
“Man, this place seems hard to live in! I almost got taken by some flying mutant repeat once!” Spike stated off in what they had to experience that he was almost snatch by some weird bird thing.
“Alright Discord, just what sort of emergency is it that you contacted us to come here? Why not have teleported us?” Twilight asked off in what the guy was wanting that he had them come here by walking then by magically teleporting.
“Well I thought I was being a good friend, you know, not rushing you too much & to make it here. Plus where’s the fun in you getting a chance to see where I live, hmmm?” Discord spoke off in stating this off in what he was doing.
“Oh we saw Chaos-ville alright & everything about it is just…..chaotic.” Goldie pointed out that from having come here, this place is crazy that it makes little sense.
“Thank you.” Discord smiled off to say this in taking that as a compliment.
“On to more important things Discord, why did you call us?” Ben asked off in wanting to know why it was that they were brought here.
“Oh it’s horrible, you must come inside….our other guest is waiting.” Discord stated off to say this in what the group here needs to do by getting inside.
The others were puzzled by such a strange request, but decided it will speed things up in knowing what is going on. After entering Discord’s home, they find something was sitting on his sofa, a familiar green slime creature with a red bow & blue top hat with only a mouth. It was none other than…
“The Smooze? He’s the other guest you were talking about?” Pinkamena asked off surprise in seeing this guy they haven’t seen since the Grand Galloping Gala.
“Well of course, who did you think I was talking about?” Discord rolled his eyes in stating this was an obvious answer to a silly question.
“Okay, we’re here, so….what seems to be the problem?” Jack Zen stated to say this in deciding to get to the main part of the topic.
“Well, as you can see…Smoozie here is feeling like he just came from being down in the dumps.” Discord stated off to say this as everyone saw the slime creature show…a little downer expression than a smiley one.
“He is?” Rainbow Dash asked off puzzled in how one can tell when this guy barely has much a face to express with.
“Well yes, plus I just got him out from a nearby dump.” Discord pointed off another funny thing about where he found Smooze that he was acting…strange.
“Discord, we meant is he feeling okay?” Ben pointed out that they wanna know what’s making Smooze act like he’s sad.
“Well no, and I’ll tell you why.” Discord stated off to simply state this off in about to say why over such a thing.
“Why?” Pinkie Pie asked off in being curious about the question.
“Because that will explain why I’m telling you this!” Discord cuts in to make a little confusing of the discussion in being…chaotic about it.
“Discord, just tell us wha’s goin’ on?” Applejack cuts in to state for the guy to just quickly get to the point.
“Oh fine, getting to the main point, you see…” Discord spoke off in deciding to just get on with the main topic. “Today is an Anniversary.” He stated off to say this that the others can follow a bit through.
“Oh boy! An Anniversary! What are we celebrating?” Pinkie Pie smiled off with joy in thinking this sounded like something nice.
“Oh nothing, just something that happened in the days of when Equestria was just…Ponyland….where your ancestors managed to overcome a threat that almost ruined their lives.” Discord shrug off to simply say this that the ‘anniversary’ that has come up involves a story involving the ponies here about their ancestors.
“Well that’s nice, so far, that sounds alright?” Phobos stated off in thinking that so far, this story doesn’t sound bad.
“It’s not something as simple as that. The celebration is something you ponies, and others that like peace enjoy…” Discord remarked off to state about the fact the anniversary that he’s stating is something others enjoy, but… “But not poor Smooze Face!” He came over to motion Smooze’s face as if making him pout before letting go which slime was stuck to his hands.
“Oh really, why doesn’t he?” Rainbow Dash raised an eyebrow in being curious about such a thing.
“Well it’s because the evil that was defeated was the ORIGINAL Smooze!” Discord issued off to state that the evil that was defeated, turn out to be a relative of which the Smooze here is a part of.
Then without warning, Discord snapped his figures that made some sparkle dust bunnies change into something of an illusion image of something that surprised everyone in the room. A roaring figure of some grayish purple viscous fluid with wide white eyes with black dots, it look like a giant size slime monster from a scary film, looking ready to cover everyone up. This was none other than Smoozie, the Original villain of Ponyland from centuries ago before the days of Equestria came into play.
“Eeek!” Fluttershy yelps from seeing the look of the ORIGINAL Smooze that threaten Ponyland of Equestria’s past.
“Sweat-Honey Waffles! THAT’S what a Smooze really is?” Phobos asked off in being shocked to see this with his own eyes.
“But he looks different compared to the Smooze here!” Nyx stated that the Smooze of the past doesn’t look like the one present.
“Very true, that is because that one is Smooze Face’s Grandfather.” Discord pointed out in stating that who they are seeing is the horrible Smooze of long ago. “Although, now that I think about it, there was a LOT more faces….so, is it grandfathers?” He ponders off in making the image move about in which it looks like there were extra heads, ehh, maybe it’s still one creature that can make many heads.
“So then, the evil was the so-called Original Smooze?” Twilight asked off in liking to get her pointers straight of what Discord was trying to tell them.
“Well you have to give it the right….pronoun approach. Like saying…’Original’ or issuing more boldly the word ORIGINAL, to get the point across.” Discord issued off in how to address the two different Smoozes of the past to the present current one.
“Then what appears to be causing trouble with our Smooze friend here?” Omega asked off an intriguing question that they wanna know.
“As stated….it’s the Anniversary of when Ponyland was saved by the Flutter Ponies in stopping the invincible Smooze that three witches conjured up to bring all to their knees. The ORIGINAL Smooze was so terrifying, that it covered much land, it was unremovable, any that had been drench with the stuff ended up becoming quite nasty.” Discord started off to explain the case in where the ORIGINAL Smooze was made to cause great evil to Ponyland as it was a dangerous creature that nearly covered the land in evil slime.
“Oh my, you mean like what happened with Rarity?” Fluttershy asked off in feeling like everyone was slimed in how Rarity reacted.
“Ugh, please…..I may have been slimed, but I was hardly nasty.” Rarity protest to say this that even she was never shown to act terrible when she was slimed.
“But the Smooze here only wanted your golden trinkets.” Pinkie Pie pointed out that their Smooze only took gold & treasures to grow big & such…
“Geh-hum….may I continue?” Discord coughs a bit to say something in wanting the group to let him finish. “Yes, well….the ‘Original’ Smooze had such an ability to which it could turn happy little creatures into grumpy & mean types. Why the ORIGINAL Smooze was said to be so terrible, that even from the power of the Rainbow Of Light that managed to weaken it, he caught the rainbow to drag it in its slimy puddle that already covered much of Ponyland.” He explained what terrible things went off that many found shocking to believe even the strongest guardian magic that protected the ponies of Ponyland wasn’t enough to stop such an opponent.
“Even the Rainbow Of Light couldn’t do much?” Nyx asked off in being surprised to have heard this part of the story.
“No, and the Original Smooze was not even completed, so it was only a stalemate for both sides until the witches finally got the last ingredient to make it invincible.” Discord stated off in pointing out a factor that the group should know about before getting any ideas. “As stated, the Mag’ne & her family & friends helped the ponies back then get the Flutter Ponies, together, they were able to clear the evil Smooze off much which gave the Rainbow Of Light the chance to be free & help out drop the defeated enemy in a volcano of where the witches were in.” He finished off the story in how the ORIGINAL Smooze was defeated by the brave humans of old legend, & the rest is history.
“Guess the Original Smooze was more tougher than we thought! If it could only be stop by the Rainbow Of Light & the combine efforts of the Flutter Ponies.” Jack Zen thought out in seeing that such a creature of old was sounding like a tough thing to beat.
“Yeah, and it was from the Rainbow Of Light that stop Tirek back in the past before he came back again on by the Changelings, then he return again!” Spike nods off to state about other things they knew the Rainbow Of Light did to help them stop an enemy twice that created such a thing, but not after learning this piece of news that the ORIGINAL Smooze kept the Rainbow deep within it until the Flutter Ponies freed it.
“All of this seems to be very strange indeed.” Omega issued off to mention this in how strange everything was sounding.
“Well in the end of it, sounds like a happy ending to me.” Phobos shrug off to say this in thinking that is the end of such a story in where good won the day.
“Weren’t you paying closer attention?” Discord sternly stated to tap the moon dragon’s head. “While all may have been happy about the Original Smooze’s defeat, how do you think that leaves Smooze Face here?” He pointed to the green slime guy that looks to be pouting.
“Burp…..” Smooze burps suddenly in just seemingly sulking.
“Ever since the little matter at the Grand Galloping Gala when we went, Smooze here pretty much was….well, causing some mischief. And from that act brought back a memory of what his grandfather, the ORIGINAL Smooze, did long ago.” Discord explained this off that from what happened at the party the Smooze went to to today’s anniversary, it has brought some troubling matters.
“But Discord, you brought him in when you felt Fluttershy was replacing you.” Goldie raised an eyebrow in pointing this out in who was it that brought Smooze to Celestia’s castle.
“Ohohoho…..yes, I completely let it slip my mind!” Discord chuckled nervously in seemingly forgetting that chaotic moment.
“But what does the Original Smooze & the Smooze of today have anything to do now?” Twilight asked off in being concern about how the two relate.
“Well Smoozie here’s reflecting the mess he caused that is almost as like what his grandfather, the ORIGINAL Smooze, did in a reign of terror across Ponyland nearly centuries ago.” Discord explains. “I mean, sure, the ponies of today don’t do too much reading of ANCIENT History about such things, they all aren’t Twilights.”
“Hey!” Twilight spoke off in feeling insulted about that comment.
“Well you know, if they were big bookworms & such.” Discord shrug off to lightly say this subject of the case.
“So the reason Smooze is sad is because he thinks no one will like him?” Nyx asked off in thinking that might be the problem to look into here.
“That’s silly, we like him. After all, he’s not like his grandfather. Sure he grew too big & was sliming everyone, but heck, we can deal with that then being turn mean & nasty.” Pinkamena stated off to say this that the Smooze of today is nothing like his evil grandfather.
“Kinda agree there, being stuck between covered in washable slime or slime that doesn’t come off to turn us mean, the choice is clear.” Rainbow Dash spoke off in stating an option here in how things can go if they wanted to discuss which slime was fine to have over the other; the good kind, not the evil kind.
“Yep, don’t matter what other folks done it, two wrongs don’t make a right.” Applejack nods off to simply say this in being friendly of her honest advice.
“And three wrongs won’t work either, I know, I tried.” Phobos stated off to say this which made Nyx roll her eyes at her silly pet pal.
“Besides, it doesn’t matter what Smooze’s grandfather did that will be judged, it’s what he does that others judge him.” Ben spoke off to say that even though Smooze here causes a little matter at the Gala, it was fixed & all was better, unlike the original Smooze that didn’t learn such a lesson.
“Right! Hey Smooze, I’ve been where you’re going. My dad Tadaka was known as an evil Dragon starting a rebellion to kill off ponies, but did that stop me from being friends with those that I’ve come to know?” Spike spoke up to approach the guy in stating how even the baby Dragon himself has gone through with a family that had some that made a name as evil Dragons, and such else that went on….
“Well, you did have some problems about it, especially when you learn about Lorcan was your brother.” Pinkie Pie pointed in reminding other events in how Spike reacted to many things about his family’s history.
“Okay…so, there’s that too.” Spike slowly replied off in having heard that part be added into the mix.
“What Spike means is that just because your grandfather was evil, doesn’t mean you have to be.” Twilight stated off to say this in knowing what Smooze here can be whatever he wants, he doesn’t necessarily have to be evil.
“We like you just the way you are.” Fluttershy smiled off meekly to say this in what they think of the Smooze.
“Slimy & everything! So come give us a big hug, yah big lug!” Pinkamena proudly spoke off in saying this much in what they think of this green slimy guy here.
Smooze was slowly starting to show a smile on his face, after hearing such nice things…it felt like it was warming his heart, as he was seen sitting up from the sofa to approach those that were so nice to him.
“Um wait, maybe just a friendly shake instead? Because…Waaaaugh!” Rarity tried to say something in knowing what was gonna happen next, but…
Now a lot of those that should have expected this, the Smooze soon gave them a big hug. But of course, they all got stuck inside the Smooze’s body before he soon lets them out to which…everyone is covered in green sticky slime.
“And…..we just got slimed.” Jack Zen slowly stated in seeing how their day has turn out that they got slimed big time.
“Wow; that sounds like something to be used in a game show or an award’s channel that involves dumping slime on folks!” Pinkie Pie replied off to say this in having realized something about how saying ‘got slimed’ sounds like a TV Game Show to her.
“And again Pinkie, you are so random.” Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes in having seen her friend be random like usual.
“Well now, I think you’ve gone & helped the Smoozinator be back to his old…..ugh!” Discord paused a moment in how to say this statement considering the Smooze is…hard to determine in certain areas. “Well, more of which he was before feeling down.” He simply shrug off this much to give a simple claim of the matter.
“I think the extra slime on us is evident enough to be in the clear of that claim.” Goldie stated off to say this in which some were wiping the slime off with magic or towels.
“You know, he really outta be careful in sliming up the place & US too.” Phobos stated off to say this in what the Smooze has gotta do in the future.
“You know that despite him being genderless, we seem to often address him with male pronouns.” Nyx stated off in randomly breaking a fourth wall in having brought up the topic.
“Oh my gosh! Brain blower!” Pinkie held her head in stating off such a reaction.
“And that means?” Ben raised an eyebrow in pondering what such a thing meant.
“No idea!” Pinkie Pie shrug off to simply say this much that made everyone look to her funny.
“Well El Smoozerino, how do you feel knowing that we got ourselves ponies that accept guys like us?” Discord turn to his slimy pal in how he’s feeling that everyone likes Smooze even after knowing his grandfather was an evil enemy of the past, they like the Smooze that can be their pal.
Smooze then stretch out his lips to give a little slime kiss on Discord’s cheek as a sign of saying that he was happy & okay with the matter; just like when Discord apologize for not being a good friend when they went to the Gala.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” Discord smiled off to say this in wiping the slime mark off his cheek.
“So what do you guys like to do?” Jack Zen asked off in pondering what Discord & Smooze like doing.
“Hugh, well….you know I’m a sucker for playing some chaos magic around here & there. It never gets tiresome.” Discord ponders the thought for a moment before listening down his favorite stuff to do.
“And for Smooze?” Omega asked off in what Discord knows the Smooze likes to do.
“Hugh….well I know he consumes shiny valuables to grow in size whenever he eats the stuff, leaves a slimy trail, and he does like to….humph-humph, giggle on the dance floor.” Discord ponders this question with some careful thinking before he made a funny joke in which he chuckled about it; the jiggle part was what Smooze & Pinkie Pie did on the dance floor after all.
“Well Discord, maybe what you can do is show Smooze a good time once in a while.” Fluttershy smiled off to say this as a simple suggestion.
“Me? Why, whatever do you mean Fluttershy?” Discord asked off i being puzzled by such a question of a thought.
“Well, you both are friends in what you do….which is kinda causing misfits, no offense to any of you.” Fluttershy spoke up in meekly stating a fact in what these two strange creatures share.
“None taken./Burp!” Discord & Smooze replied of as if such a concern was no bother to them.
“Well then, you can make a plan time in which you both can enjoy yourselves or come & be with us.” Twilight smiled off in offering this little matter of where or whenever these two can do or be with whenever they like.
“And don’t worry, after the Gala itself, when folks see Smooze here, we’ll make sure they know he’s friendly.” Ben spoke off in making sure that they will insure that the other ponies that weren’t at the Gala, will know this Smooze is friendly, even to those that have heard about the ORIGINAL Smooze from the past.
“Just as long as he’s kept away fro' jewelry & shiny stuff.” Applejack pointed out in what they gotta do ahead to insure all things are fine & dandy.
“Like a certain Dragon that got too greedy & grew!” Rainbow Dash made a sly smile in stating this little factor.
“Oh brother!” Spike slap his forehead in just knowing that the topic of one’s greed would grow came back to him in comparing what he & Smooze did.
“Well, this will keep things on a down level, after all.” Rarity smiled off to calmly say this much about such things.
“Okay then, now that we settle the matter, while your here, how about some jelly-filled surprise donuts?” Discord spoke off to say in magically appearing in a cooking apron while holding a tray of donuts with a green jelly filling.
The gang saw the donuts and many took part in taking a bite out of them. Then after a few short minutes of chewing, many had a gasp look on their faces as some green slime came off from the donuts, making many feel like when they swallowed down what they ate….some felt the urge to hurl. Don’t tell them that what the surprise was something…slimy now, was it?
“What do you think, I had the Smoozinator help me prepare them before your arrival while they bake!” Discord smiled off to say this in commenting who helped him in the kitchen, seems the Smooze help with the jelly-filling for the donuts.
“Ugh, well….they are certainly the most….gooey I’ve seen.” Fluttershy sheepishly responded in trying to not say anything that would sound mean about the Smooze having help make the donuts.
“And how!” Both Pinkie Pie & Pinkamena replied off in a shocking display that the two were not judgmental about eating slime-filled donuts.
“Just wait till you try the cake we’re going to bake, you’ll be surprise by what type of cake the Smooze can make.” Discord also spoke off in stating this surprising matter that made some….flinch.
“It is times like these I am glad I am a mechanical bot.” Omega stated off in being glad he has no sense of taste or he would also be in the predicament.
So slowly things are showing that even in new times, even those that have a bad history of what one’s family did should not seal their future. Even for those with the name Smooze, what happened in the past will not matter for those that wish to make a new start. Such is a lesson learn here that the gang know about in helping their new friend, the Smooze, not be bothered about the past & to look forward to a new future…with some friends along the way…
