It was a warm and sunny day, the kind of day that brought a smile to every ponies face. Well, every pony except a cloud

grey pegasus by the name of Derpy Hooves. Normally, Derpy was one of the happiest carefree ponies in ponyville, but

today, thanks to an extremely heavy work load, all she felt was tiered and achy. As Derpy slowly flew home her

husband Sakai patiently waited for Derpy and their daughter Dinky's return, so that they could all go out to

dinner and a movie to celebrate Dinky's latest report card. "Hmm. I wonder where Derpy is, she should be done with work

by now." Just then the front door opened and Derpy wearily walked in never lifting her head. Sakai got up form the

chair he was reading in and walked over to Derpy to see why she looked so down.

"Hey Sweetie, ruff day? "Sakai asked. Depy finally raised her head and faced Sakai revealing her tiered eyes.

"Was it ever. Every pony in ponyville seemed to either have mail to send or mail to receive. I can't even remember how many times

I've had to fly to Canterlot and back today, but it must have been a lot considering how much my wings hurt." Derpy sat

down on the soft couch and molded in. Sakai sat down next to Derpy and gently grabbed her hoof.

" I take it back, that wan't a "ruff day" it sound like you had an awful day. Hmm. Maybe we shouldn't go out tonight." Derpy glanced at her
husband with a troubled face.

"No no. Dinky has been looking forward to this night for weeks, not to mention we promised her." Sakai got up and walked over to the writing desk in the far corner of the room and stared jotting down a letter.

"Nonsense my dear. Your in no condition to go out tonight and I'm sure Dinky will understand. Heck, I bet she'll even be happy to help me make dinner when she gets here." Sakai chuckled reassuringly. Unfortunately, instead of feeling better Derpy only felt guilty.

She knew Dinky was looking forward to their night out since they didn't really do things like this all of the time, not to mention she

just hated breaking her promises.

"Kai why don't you and Dinky just go out. I can just stay here, take a warm bath and a nape then the three of use can go out another day when I feel better." Sakai looked up from his letter and frowned at Derpy.

"Do you really think that Dinky and I would go out and have a good time while your stuck at home alone and achy?"
Sakai stated. Derpy looked down at the floor.

"No you two wouldn't do that. But I just don't want to ruin the night for either of you.

Sakai smiled warmly. "Are you kidding me. Dinky is with us and I'm with two of the greatest mares in all of
Equestria. We'll have a blast." Sakai's response made Derpy smile, bringing the first bit of joy she had all day.

"Your right I guess." Derpy stated happily.

Sakai kept smiling and stated, "Of course I am", before he turned back to his letter. After

writing a few more words Sakai picked up the letter and rolled it up. He then took a deep breath and then blew out a

small wisp of magical fire that instantly vaporized the letter transporting it to the restaurant Sakai reserved for the night.

"Okay that's that. Now we have a little time before Dinky comes back from school, do you want me to do anything for

you? Run a hot bath, fluff up the pillows on the bed, massage your wings?" Sakai asked happily.

Derpy gently smiled and got up off of the couch. "No no. Cooking dinner and being here is enough Muffin. I think I'll just take a short nape."

Sakai smiled. "Okay you go rest and I'll start dinner."

Derpy walked towards the bed room when she remembered something that she forgot to tell Sakai.

She quickly walked back to the kitchen. "Hey Sakai?" The dragon looked away from the pot of boiling daffodil soup towards

his wife.

"Yes Sweetie, need anything?" He replied.

"In my hurry this morning I forgot to tell you that we were going to have to cancel our reservation anyways, because Dinky was going to have a sleepover with Apple Bloom and her friends tonight." Derpy stated.

Sakai scratched his head. "Well I guess everything has worked out the for best huh, ha ha." Derpy shared in this moment of laughter.

"Okay I think I'll go take that nap now." Derpy stated merrily after she stopped laughing.

"Okay, but remember If you need me to do anything just ask." the dragon replied with a smile.

Derpy started to walk away when and idea popped into her head. "Hey honey." She called in a velvety voice. Sakai yet again turned away from the pot towards his wife.

"Yes my angel?"

Derpy smiled slyly. "Well I think I could go for a muffin along with dinner."

"Ah that's my girl I'll make us a batch in a jiffy." Sakai replied.

"Actually instead of a bunch of muffin do you think you could make one big one." Derpy stepped closer to Sakai.

"Okay a big muffin. Hmm, what kind do you want because If I make a chocolate chip muffin Dinky can

only have a little bit since I don't think she needs that much chocolate."

"Oh don't worry this will just be our special muffin."

Derpy put her hooves on Sakai's shoulders.

" Hun? I love muffins as much as you but I don't think we can eat a giant muffin by ourselves in one night. I mean were not Pinkie Pie. Ha ha." Sakai comically joked.

Depry lovingly wrapped her hooves around Sakai even tighter. She then whispered into his ear," No I'm not talking about eating a muffin if you know what I mean."

Sakai's eyes widened. "Oh no. No no no Derpy." Sakai backed away from the cloud grey pegasus a little bit.

Derpy looked at him sheepishly. "Common Kai you use to do it all the time to cheer me up when we were dating."

Sakai crossed his arms and shook his head. "No means no Derpy. A dragon has to have his dignity."

Derpy started to stare at him with puppy eyes. "Pweesa. For me. "

Sakai didn't budge. " No!"

Derpy frowned. "Okay I guess I'll just go take a nap. Sorry I brought it up." Derpy sadly walked away.

Unfortunately, Sakai could not see his wife sad, so he bit his pride and did the special thing Derpy had suggested.

"Oh Derpy?"

Derpy lifted her head seeing something that made her day.

Sakai had transformed into a giant chocolate chip muffin.

"Oh Sakai your the best." She went up and lovingly hugged him.

"The things I do for love." Sakai sighed.

The End.
